Hello everybody. Welcome to the after party. Good to be back.
Speak for yourself. It wasn't a question. It was a statement.
Oh.
Me. You're saying it's good to be back.
It's good for me to be back.
Speak for yourself.
For me. Yeah.
I feel good to be back.
Okay. Got it.
Because Bree's like, it's not good for me that you're back.
No, I was meaning for me.
Right.
I wasn't saying it's not good to have you back. I was saying, oh, it's not good for me to be back.
Question.
Yeah.
Has our new Ella great?
who is the new Ella.
She'd been on the pod yet?
She has done once.
So that was her kind of official introduction.
Well, it was very unofficial.
It was very unofficial.
Didn't really...
Soft launch.
And I titled the podcast like,
this is not an announcement.
So...
And she's not here, so now we're talking behind her back.
Well, it's not talking behind someone's back
just because they're not here, is it?
I feel like it's only talking behind their back
if you're saying things about them.
She's a bitch.
Yeah, we can start talking shit if you want.
Just make you feel better.
I was passing through there to go to the bathroom earlier,
and I went past Grace, our new producer.
And she stopped me, and she goes,
how often do you wear cardigans?
Because today I am wearing a cardigan.
And I was like, oh, not that often, but sometimes.
Why?
He's like, I just need to know where this,
how often I'm going to be seeing this.
And I was like, okay.
And so I told her.
The cardigan thing is weird.
I know it's an interesting choice in 2026 to wear a cardigan.
And it's almost like a Gen Z thing too.
Because when I wore it in the first time, Brooke said to me, she goes,
okay, Mr Cardigan.
I love the way you say cardigan.
Unprompted?
How am I meant to say it?
It's really cute.
How am I meant to say it?
I say Cardigan.
Cardigan.
It's really sweet.
Cardi.
Cardigan.
Cardigan.
Yeah, I don't know too many men wearing cardigans these days.
But it's spring, right?
But I love a cardigan.
Just enough layers.
Yeah.
Taylor Swift loves a cardigan.
Did she?
She wrote a song.
Yeah, but did she write a song about loving the cardigan?
I couldn't listen to the cardigan.
I can't remember.
She said she was an old cardigan under someone's bed.
Oh, so she didn't like the cardigan.
So to be a cardigan is to be a bit dowdy and neglected.
But then she did a whole merch line of cardigans.
So she loves a cardigan.
She loves to monetize.
Do you guys like the new?
music? No, I hate it. You don't like it,
Claudia, which I'm surprised about. I personally,
and it's not a competition,
but I think I've listened to the new music
more than anybody else.
Yeah? Because my children,
and because there's only four songs, and because we've done a lot
of driving over the school holidays.
Dad, can we have the four new songs?
And then we get to the end of it, like, can we have the four new songs again?
And because I'm not sick of these Taylor Swift songs yet. I don't mind
looping it. I'm getting close, though.
Cleveland is it?
Garbage.
This is my take is I think that Patient Zero is one of her best songs.
Are you kidding?
And I think Cleveland.
Yeah.
Ever?
I think, yeah.
And I think Cleveland is one of her worst songs.
That's true.
That is true.
Wow, interesting.
If Patient Zero is one of her best songs.
And I'm not quick to fan Taylor Swift music.
It's not for me.
But I think Patient Zero is a very good song.
Did you like it on first listen or have you been Stockholm Syndrome?
Well, first listen, Bree and I were a third of the way into a half marathon that we hadn't trained for.
So it was hard to like anything at that point.
I didn't like a single thing about it.
I was in a world of pain.
I, um, did you, have you listened much to her album Midnights?
No.
Well, yes, I have.
That album, I think if you actually genuinely listen to it,
I think that's an album you would actually like of Taylor Swift.
And if you like Patient Zero, that's probably the theme of songs.
Yeah, right.
Well, I've probably heard them all.
Like, out of all the Taylor Swift's albums, to be honest,
Midnight's is, I want to say my favorite.
That in 1989, but I think you would really actually like that album.
Okay.
It's one of her best.
Interesting.
You should try, like, test it over the next half long and ask the girls if they can,
you know, well, when your daughters want to listen, you should be like, oh.
Okay, yeah, that's a way of doing it.
You know, because they want to listen to Taylor Swift and then just see.
Yeah, okay.
That's a good idea.
Yeah.
I'd love to hear your review, because I'd love to hear your review,
because I think you would actually
Speaking of my daughters,
I was at Maddie MacLean's
birthday party.
Yes.
On Saturday.
And I took the girls with me.
I didn't get him by.
Neither.
I wondered why you weren't there.
Yeah.
You know he 100% would have forgotten
to invite you?
Interesting.
Yeah.
We should call him tomorrow.
It's really funny.
I'm in the process of inviting people
to my wedding.
Maybe I should cut him.
True.
This is a risky time not to invite you to think.
Totally. And here's the thing.
You were invited to his wedding.
So why would you not be invited to his wedding?
He's just forgotten.
That's a bit rough.
You know he's a bit of an airhead sometimes.
Where was it?
It was at the Mount Eden Bowles Club.
So very handy to your house.
Right near my house.
Funny that.
Anyway, there were speeches happening and I spoke.
And I did the classic game.
Because his mum and dad were there.
And I said, oh, congratulations.
on having a 40-year-old
because he's their
eldest child
and I said
my parents don't know
what that feels like
because I'm not 40
and without missing a beat
my daughter Maggie goes
he's 39
my 5-year-old daughter
goes he's 39
can't get away with it
he's bloody close
he's very close
as close as you can get
which was
good
very good
cute
keep you honest
we've got so many
bloody adlib
to do.
I think this is the most ad libs we've ever done in one sitting.
It's Clint's fault because he was away.
Adlibs are like little ads that we read out.
They were like, just wait until Clint's back and I was like, okay.
There's six.
Yep.
Oh, for the new New Balance store.
I want to go to that.
The new flagship store.
Anyway, that's...
Yeah, you want to get your 305s.
What are my 305s?
Is that the dad shoe?
Yeah.
Well, the 1960s.
Is it the 305s?
Oh, those are the dead shoes, the 305s.
Did I get it right?
No, the 530s.
Oh, I was close.
And the 470s?
Yeah, man.
All right, well, we'll leave you to it and see you guys tomorrow.
Oh, the awkward outro is back.
Oh, man.
Oh, well, you just stop talking and then you said you want to do some fucking adlers.
Oh, now, look, he's all bluffed out.
Discussed.
And we'll see you in the a.m.
Bye.
