Yesterday we found out There's a real spice girls outfit Coming up for sale here in New Zealand Not just any spice girl Sporty spice Sporty spice The most Brie of all the spices It's going to be sold through a red cross

secondhand store here in New Zealand and we need it. We need a formulae a plan to get it and we need to know how much money we need to get to be able to get it. So, from Red Cross New Zealand, Sophie Jones joins us on the phone. Hi Sophie. Hi Sophie. Hi, Sophia. Before we go any further, did that intro impress upon you

how important this is to us and how seriously we are taking the acquisition of Mel C Sporty Spice's outfit? 100%. And I don't think you're alone in that, guys. No, that's not what we were worried about. Not what we want to hear, Sophie. Okay. So you've had a lot of interest, have you?

Oh, yeah. I mean, ever since it went live with Melanie C, there's been a lot of hype, a lot of interest, a lot of excitement. I thought I was the only one. Yeah, but hang on, Sophie, there's two outfits. Two outfits. We want the track suit one. We don't want the Vajazzled DJ one. We want the track suit one.

So is that the one that's getting all the interest? Look, I think anything Melanie C related is getting a lot of hype, but hey, you have just a good of chance as anyone else. Yeah, and by good a chance is we need a lot of money, right? Well, that is yet to be determined. We're still working that process out at the moment with our pricing. Can we work something out person and person, Sophie? And can I just say that we've gone to our boss?

We've asked for a ZDM allocation of funds. Because, I mean, this is good cross promotion for the Red Cross. Yeah. For ZM. Everyone wins. And Brie gets a Spice Girls outfit. but our boss has given us $250. How do you think that's going to go?

Oh, look, like I said, it's to be determined. I don't have a price for you right now, team. I'm really sorry. Don't humor us, Sophie. We're still ironing that out. But look, we're super excited. And, you know, the proceeds that will come from these items are going to do such amazing work for the Red Cross.

So we're super pumped. I feel like I'm talking to a real estate agent at an open home, and they don't want to tell me how much the owners on. You could be in the ball bar. You'll have to come along to the auction. How do we buy it, Sophie? How do we buy Malsy's Sporty Spice's Tracksuit from the Red Cross?

Right. So what I can tell you is that the items will be on display in our Albany Red Cross shop in Auckland. Okay. They'll be on display after the drive. So I think we're kind of looking around mid-November at the stage. Okay, we've got time. Yep. Good.

You have time. You have time. but what we would love is we want everyone to have the opportunity to view and to potentially touch something of Melanie C's like we want everyone, we want to share that love with everyone. Yeah, so that's where they'll be. They will be in Auckland. Both items will be in the Albany shop.

So you will have further details on that later on. It sounds like a lot of open homes that you're doing, Sophie, for my Melanie C out of it. Sounds like you're going to show a lot of other people who might buy it off us. Yeah. Hey, look, we want everyone to have the opportunity. to own something of Melanie C's. There's another important question that I think Bree's too shy to ask.

It is Melanie C. worn this outfit. Is it Melanie C. washed? Well, what we really love our donors to do is to provide their donations washed, right? That's disappointing. Except in this case, right? Because I would rather an unwashed Melanie C outfit, Sovie. Right.

Well, you know what? I'll have to come back to you on that. Just say you can't confirm or deny and can the dream alive. Good, okay, cool. All right, so no bidding war, no nothing until mid-November. Is that right? No, that's right. And what we want to do is we want to create, you know, fair, pick and hand value.

Obviously, this is not our normal donation. So, I mean, how do you price something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're trying to get as much money for a good cause as possible. We get it. We're going to put our heads together, and we're going to have to come up. with something that is accessible, you know, for every New Zealander, not only yourselves. Stuff that I want it.

No, we'll play the game. We'll play the game. It just gives us more money, more time to fundraise, Sophie. So, thank you for the heads up. Absolutely. And, you know, we're super pumped for this clothing drive. We look forward to it every year. But I think this year in particular, having a Spice Girl as our ambassador is pretty epic.
