You tapped it, so we're playing it.
It's ZM's Brian Clint, the podcast.
I watched the new Spider-Man movie.
Hey, did you like it?
Ella absolutely wet her pants over it.
Yeah, and then Claudia was right down the other end of this picture.
And Claudia didn't like it at all.
Yeah, so I feel like Norway in this situation because I'm like,
you can see both sides.
There's parts that I love.
There's parts that I can be a little bit confused about.
But overall, it's a great piece of art.
Okay.
That's out in cinemas.
It's impartial.
That's balanced, perhaps.
Perhaps balanced.
My pH considered balanced.
One of my favourite parts of this.
the movie is actually the soundtrack, which I didn't think
in a Spider-Man movie I would even consider
the music, but it was
a bit of a factor to one of the pivotal
scenes where, without spoilers,
Spider-Man attends a house party.
And this song comes on by Tame and Parlor,
which we're playing as well at the moment.
Yeah, tune.
It just feels so right in the plot.
Yeah.
It's crazy that this is finally the year
of Tame and Pallor. Do you get that?
Yes, yeah, yeah, Dracula.
It's coming around.
It's taken so long, but...
Okay, cool, yeah.
So I wanted to collect songs that made the scene,
rea-party scene, because I don't feel like,
I don't know, maybe this is a Gen Z thing,
we're not going out to house parties as much.
So if you can get that same simulation in a film,
that's the right one, then it feels just the same.
And if there's a good song in there, you're like,
I'm here with you.
I know what you mean?
Yeah, yeah.
And the song can make the moment, too.
Oh, 100%.
Yeah, okay, give me some examples.
The first one that jumped to mind when I thought songs that make the same,
scene re-party.
It had to be pursuit of happiness, which is in Project X.
This is after they smash the garden gnome full of eckies.
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And they're kind of deciding, should we, shouldn't we go like the full night?
And they go, yeah, let's do it.
Yes, this is iconic, yeah.
It is.
Peak, peak millennial house party vibes, too.
Yeah.
Here later, 2013, another music that made the scene from a part of,
The Great Gatsby
A Little Party never killed nobody
A little party
Furgy and Q-Tip
Yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah I think in the movie
They do kind of more of a flapper girl sound
Like it's this song
The movie version is different
You're right
But I think I really like it
Because you're hearing about this mysterious character
The whole time who is Gatsby
And then it's revealed in this
It's just a gorgeous scene
That movie is so good
Oh yeah I could rewatch it tonight
My brother brought me the soundtrack
to that film on vinyl
Oh yeah but do you still have that?
Yeah
Rock that
I remember listening to some of that
It's a banging soundtrack
Oh my gosh
Okay on the songs that made the scene
Removies
10 things I hate about you
When Kat Stanford gets up on the time
She's like the never party girls
Now she's at a party for her first time
And she's just letting it all out
Oh
Imagine being on a table to the song
You know
I've never seen the film
But you just described it so well, coupled with the song, that I get it.
Everyone's like, that's that nerdy girl who never goes out.
What is she doing dancing to Biggie on a table right now at a house party?
Then smokes her head on a chandelier.
So iconic.
Tune.
Songs that made the scenery movies, you can't go past Sophia's, what is a bachelorette party
when she's just about to get married and Mamma Mia.
Oh, okay.
And all of her girls are around and it's just meant to be a good.
early thing, but then the guys come and invade
her bachelorette party to this song.
And they're like climbing the wall and stuff?
Oh, it's so good.
Abba?
Yeah, me, oh, the whole, do you have this one final?
Oh, of course it's Abba.
It's Mama Mia.
I thought that was a statement, not a question.
That's how obvious it was.
Oh, so good.
All right, one more.
Okay, and I know we're doing songs that make the scene.
This is more modern, but
imagine you're an ice hockey play.
and you've got the hots for another ice hockey player
and you're like pretty strict with your regime
but you go out on the town one night
and then you see this ice hockey player
that you've kind of been flirting with,
dancing with another girl.
What do you play, DJ?
Hit it.
From heated rivalry?
I tell you what, you think you love heated rivalry.
Not as much as the girls from Tartu
love heated rivalry.
is a whole other paycheck for them.
Oh yeah.
They're relevant.
They're relevant again.
Yeah.
But it's so weird because it was almost like that song was written for that scene.
I don't know.
Bangers.
Bangers.
And great list of films too.
