The ZM Podcast Network.
Welcome to the Brie and Clint show live from the Lula Inn in the Vidark.
This is my type of radio show. Here we are. How good is this?
How good is this? We have the whole bar set up today for a very special occasion.
Today, you are going to be, I'm trying to find the word for it, initiated?
Inducted.
Inducted, christened?
Christened.
Baptised?
Baptised.
As an honorary Kiwi.
I know, this is so exciting.
It's been one hell of a week, and it's so good to be here at the finish line.
Yeah, we have someone coming down to do that for you.
We also have a raft of special guests joining us on the show today.
It's going to be a lot of fun.
I'm so excited.
I don't know what is going on.
Anybody who wants to come down
and join us for this special Friday edition
of the Brianne Clint Show,
we encourage you to do so.
Get out of work early,
come on down to the Lula Inn,
have a drink with us and share in this.
We have two live performances happening today.
We've got Cassie Henderson performing at 6 o'clock
and we've got Georgia Lyons performing
on the show at 5 o'clock.
Oh my God, it's good to have friends with talent.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, because there's no budget to pay them
so we're leaning on friendship.
Yeah, exactly.
Plus, we have two double passes
to Taylor Swift to give away today.
Two double passes.
Two, not one double pass.
Yeah.
We've got two.
We have two.
All the regular features are going out the window today.
Sorry if you were standing by to play tradie verse lady.
We have much more important things to do next.
Bree and Clint.
Bree and Clint, we're live from the Lula Inn in Auckland's Viaduct.
You're welcome to come down and join us for the show this afternoon.
I feel like I'm kind of on David Letterman or Graham Norton.
I was going for a Graham Norton vibe.
Yeah, yeah.
We're on stage.
Bree's on the couch.
I'm in the chair.
Just like Graham Norton, I've drunk about seven rosés.
Good.
Yeah.
I'm on my first beer.
It's going down super well.
You wait till Hugh Jackman gets here.
I can't wait.
That's when the show really starts.
I haven't seen my cousin for ages.
We're celebrating five years of the Brianne Clint Show today,
so we'd love you to come down and catch up with everybody.
And we're also celebrating five years of you living here in New Zealand.
Does it feel like five years?
It's gone by so quickly.
Yeah.
And it feels like I've been here forever.
Yeah.
Like it really does.
And I can't really picture being anywhere else.
COVID really missed the timeline up a bit, I think.
Oh, my God.
There's so many people, so many friends that are walking into the building right now.
I don't know what's happening this afternoon.
I've just seen Joseph Moore, Dr. Joel from Celebrity Treasure Island is here.
There's so many like familiar faces, you guys.
How long have you been organising this?
Five years.
Five years.
It's been a while.
I've got a message from someone from our past, mainly yours.
I know that moving to a new country is very isolating
and adapting to a new culture is hard.
So to have somebody that has the same memories
and experiences you from back home
was probably quite helpful. And I'm talking
about our friend Big Gay Gorgeous Al.
Big Gay Gorgeous Al.
What a delightful human.
One of my best friends in the whole world. He moved
over here a year after
I did. And it was
amazing to have a familiar
face in this country
because you're right, it's a
daunting experience moving your
whole life to a country. It's just across
the ditch but the money looks different so
that's enough, right? Yeah, it was really
hard to readjust to the money.
We reached out to Al who has sent
us a special message to
commemorate five years. So here it is.
This is big gay gorgeous Al, friend of the show from
Australia. Kia ora Brie. This is Big Gay Gorgeous Al, friend of the show from Australia. Kia ora, Bree.
It's Al, Big Gay Al.
Oh my God, five years in the beautiful land
of New Zealand, Australia's little cousin.
F***, we miss you so much.
I'm just thinking back to all the fun memories we have
in the beautiful motherland,
which is your now second home.
Congrats on the five years, Dal. i can't wait to see you and i miss you guys so much bye and true to alan style he put a filter
on himself when he sent that video he made sure that he looked tanned and instagram ready of
course he did he's been um i mean we've had him on our show quite a few times.
Yeah.
There's been some great pranks with Big Gay Gorgeous Alan.
He's the man who had Tinder on his desktop computer.
I mean, probably the only person in the world.
Managed to get Tinder on, so he could Tinder and work at the same time.
Exactly.
And he wouldn't be, you know, caught at work.
So I love that man so much.
That's so kind of you guys and lovely to hear from him.
We're live from the Lula Inn in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour right now.
We're celebrating five years of the Bree and Clint show
and five years of Bree being here in Aotearoa, New Zealand
with some special guests.
Our special guest now is Jazz Thornton.
Hi, Jazz.
Hi, Jazz.
Hi.
You'll know Jazz.
Didn't you win the award last year for best TikToker on the planet or something like that?
Not on the planet, but in Australasia.
Damn.
That's on the planet.
That's the only parts that matter.
Did you ring Lance Savali and just be like, suck it?
I should have.
Yeah.
I didn't, but I should have.
Yeah, you should have.
We're here bringing people who have been a part of Bree's journey here in New Zealand
to the show. And I found out that you walked half of Bree's 50K walk, her charity walk with her.
You did a full 25 kilometres with her.
I did.
I've never walked that far in my life.
No.
I just keep going.
No, neither have I.
It was pretty amazing, like Jazz said, because I invited everyone that had time to come down
and just do a couple of laps.
And Jazz came down for a couple of laps. And then it was a couple of more laps. And just do a couple of laps and jazz came down down for a
couple of laps and then it was a couple of more laps and it was a couple of more laps and i was
like are you are you good to keep going and and then jazz actually left came back with a massage
gun um for a bunch of us who were doing the 50 kilometers and then yeah did the full 25 so full
half of the 50K.
It was pretty amazing.
That's amazing.
What made you want to do that?
Why did you want to help out so much?
Oh, I think just hearing Bree talk about the charity so much
and just hearing a little bit more of the stories.
And I met one of the people that you were doing it for.
I was just like, oh, far out.
If they can do 50, I've only come in halfway through the day.
I'm going to just keep going.
And also, I wanted to see it out and just see them finish it.
So I was like, I'll just go get a massage gun and come back.
So I should get some Mickey D's and then come back.
Not only that, though, and I'll talk about you because I know that you won't.
She jumped on her massive Instagram and TikTok following
and asked people to donate to our page.
And she was a big driving force
and the reason why we got to the goal that we did.
So I don't forget things like that,
and I really appreciate you.
That was a really special day.
And I'm so excited that you're here as well.
This is so amazing.
Yeah, this is really cool.
In the spirit of spoiling secrets,
you're actually going to be on ZM next week as well, aren't you?
I am.
We can't talk too much about that yet.
Oh, it's hush-hush.
It's all hush-hush. It's hush-hush. Jazz is going to be on ZM. Also, you can aren't you? I am. We can't talk too much about that yet. Ooh, it's hush-hush. It's all hush-hush.
It's hush-hush.
Jazz is going to be on ZM.
Also, you can catch Jazz's podcast, Hope Is Real.
That has been a runaway hit on the ZM podcast network this year.
And the message that you deliver in that podcast is quite incredible.
So to be able to have something like that as part of ZM,
as much as this is about celebrating five years of us
and bringing the country today, we want to say thanks for being part of ZM and having you as part of ourM. As much as this is about celebrating five years of us and Bree in the country today,
we want to say thanks for being part of ZM
and having you as part of our whānau as well
because it means a lot to have someone of your mana
and your stature as part of our group as well.
Oh, thank you guys so much.
I love being able to be part of it.
It's so cool.
And to be here for you today, Bree.
Oh, this is so freaking cool.
I love it.
I didn't know.
And when I saw her, I was like,
oh my God, I'm going to cry today for sure.
Bree and Clint.
This week, we have really put you through your paces.
Yeah, look, it's been a challenging week.
It's been fun.
It's been very stressful.
Yeah.
But it's been triumphant.
Hasn't it just?
It has.
Your quest to become an honorary Kiwi.
Bree Thomas-El.
Honorary Kiwi.
Four challenges which push
you outside of your limits.
Climb the Auckland Sky Tower up the stairs.
No one takes the stairs. No one
takes the stairs in that building. Do you reckon you can get a discount
and take the stairs? I don't think
I would want the discount after doing it.
Yeah, I'd pay the money. I'd pay every
cent. 1,260 stairs.
Bungee jump off the Harbour Bridge.
Did anyone find out how high that bungee jump is?
They said it's as high as the original bungee jump in Queenstown,
the one that you and I did.
Yeah.
They said it's the same height.
Wow, okay.
Yeah.
Sing the national anthem at Eden Park
and defend a goal against a football fern.
They all went well.
Some went better than others.
Yeah, but they all went well.
You got the W on all four.
That's why we're here at the party.
If you missed any of them, here's what you missed out on.
It's Chukka in the Sky Tower.
My legs are burning already.
I hate it.
It's day two of Bree's quest to become an honorary Kiwi.
Three, two, one.
Ah!
What's happened? an honorary Kiwi. Three, two, one. Thank you. I want my mum.
Today, your job is to defend a goal against a football fan.
I touched it.
You're in trouble.
Ow, my hand's in trouble.
Sing the national anthem at Eden Park.
Not that the anthem wasn't excellent. We've just opted to not
play the whole anthem. And no, I
appreciate that. That's a good friend. Thank you.
What was your favourite of the four challenges?
You know, even though
it was the worst
sounding, I'd say the anthem was my favourite.
I put the most work into it and I felt really patriotic when I was standing there at Eden Park.
It meant something to me.
It was important and I took it really seriously.
And don't judge it by how it sounded.
Like we said yesterday,
Brie only had time to learn the words or the pitch.
Okay, she couldn't master both.
Couldn't do both.
Couldn't master both in seven days.
I said the words are more important
and that's what I went with.
There you go.
So that's all four challenges.
There's videos of those on all of our social media.
Brie and Clint.
We've had some special guests on the show already, Brie.
Yeah, it's been pretty amazing already.
I don't know what else you guys have got planned,
but this is pretty special. This next guest
is pretty special to you specifically.
She's special to our show, but I know that you
have a genuine connection with this lady.
This friendship
came about during lockdown, didn't it?
Yeah, it did. It was quite a few years ago
now. 2020?
Yeah, maybe 2021.
And I met her by chance on facebook uh she accidentally uh sent
me a friend request i thought it was this woman who was uh sending me abuse online and i said
do we know each other and it turns out it wasn't that woman it was a pretty amazing woman named Karen and we instantly connected and started talking that
afternoon and talked into the night and we've been friends ever since it's we met by chance and
we've had an amazing friendship out of it it's been pretty special absolutely yeah and we've
done some crazy things for each other including me sitting here at the moment with you,
and you going and walking 50 k's.
I did.
People probably don't realise,
but the 50-kilometre walk that I did for Sweet Louise was for Karen, who has breast cancer,
and she was the one who asked me,
you know, would you be interested in doing this?
And I said, for how much you've given me
and what you've done for me, that's the least I could do and uh it was for her um that day and
it was pretty special what does it mean to have your friend do something like that Karen do you
know there are absolutely no words and I think when you video called me after you'd done it I
was in Colorado it was like 11 o'clock at night or midnight.
And I'm not an emotional person, but when Bree called to say she had done it, I broke
down in tears.
So did I.
Just because I know the challenge you would have faced in terms of walking 50 Kks and knowing the challenges that I've needed to face on this journey
it gives me goosebumps now but it's because of people like you and my support people and
you know my auntie and my mum and stuff like it's because of you guys that I can do what I do and
how I do it well you're a pretty amazing person so it was so it was pretty much a no-brainer for me. And I'm so glad we got to spend that time together
and have that moment, and there's plenty more to come.
Bring it on.
You're a wonderful person, Karen.
I know that the friendship between you and Bree came about by accident,
but you're a good friend of the show now.
You support us in so many ways as well.
She comes to everything.
You came to Friday Oaky.
And Mount Maunganui as well.
Yeah, you came to double Friday Oakeys.
So it's our honour to have you
here tonight to celebrate five
years. So thank you so much for being here.
Thank you. And all the best for being
an honorary Kiwi. I'm a foreigner as well.
And I've got my citizenship.
So welcome to the country. Thanks, Karen.
We love you. Breeze isn't legally binding, but
you know, it's going to be good. Let's not mention that.
Let's not mention that part.
You will be inducted as Love you. Breeze isn't legally binding, but, you know, it's going to be good. Let's not mention that. Let's not mention that part. Bree and Clint.
You will be inducted as an honorary Kiwi just after 5pm.
Can I ask, who is inducting me?
I can't tell you that yet.
I'm thinking, like, it needs to be a dame.
Someone official.
Like Valerie Adams or Dame Susan Devoy.
Well, you get Valerie Adams down here,
and then she could, like, chuck you into the harbour.
I'd be so honoured.
Yeah, you'd be honoured.
Like a baptism.
I'd be like, throw me, Valerie.
After five, that will happen.
First, though, we've got a special guest on the show.
Get your past there.
It's not that bad, I swear.
Get a friend to take you there.
Anyone who has listened to the brilliant Clint Chosen's The Star
or ZM
over the past will know our friend
Ellie Harwood. Hi producer Ellie.
Hello guys. Hello everyone.
It's so
nice to have you here. It's nice to be
here. You are one of our
original producers. You and Ben.
She was patient zero on the
brilliant Clint show.
And both of you have since gone on to bigger and better things,
but it's so great to have you back here to celebrate five years of this show.
How are you doing?
How is life?
Yeah, what's happening?
I'm good.
I'm kind of just the same.
Nothing's really changed.
I'm still me, and I feel like sitting back in the seat with you two,
I feel like no time has passed at all.
Me too.
Yeah, like I don't feel like I've left you,
even though it's been three years, which is crazy. But no, I'm really good time has passed at all. Me too. Yeah, like I don't feel like I've left you, even though it's been three years
which is crazy. But no, I'm really good and I'm
just stoked. You've been here for five years.
Crazy. I know. I'm here forever
now. I'm going to get my citizenship.
What do we do about that?
It's done. She completed the challenge. We contractually
have to. It's over for you guys. It's over.
We have to give it to her.
In the time that you were a part of our show,
what stands out the most to you?
What was your favourite memory of being part of this show?
Well, I'd have to say that going to LA
and not finding Channing Tatum was pretty funny.
Sharing a room with me in the most dodgy
West Hollywood hotel in the world.
Where we'd hear a noise and we'd be like,
is that a drive-by shooting?
I don't know what is happening. But it was terrifying.
But a highlight.
And also the venute was also very, very funny.
Oh, the goddamn venute.
Yeah, we had fun in that.
You know what we've never done?
We've never asked to see the budget or reconciled how much money we spent going to LA.
Because that would not have been a cheap exercise.
Oh, nothing.
How much money did we spend trying to go and find Channing Tatum?
A lot.
We spent a lot of money.
10 grand? 15 grand? Yeah.
And we got nothing out of it.
He left Brie on scene.
No, we met
Jonah Hill. Oh, yeah. And we weren't allowed
to broadcast it.
He was so rude to us.
He was like, please don't talk to me.
I'm trying to eat my tiny pancakes.
Kind of fair, though. Yeah.
You were part of a two-person producing team
on this show with our friend Ben,
who has since gone on to Australia
to produce Jace Hawkins' show,
Who You Will Know from Jason PJ.
Ben has sent in a message
because he can't be here today.
Ben has sent in a message as well.
So this is Ben,
who at the time of recording this
also had COVID.
All right, Ella or Claudia or whoever the f*** has to edit this,
I'm sorry, I'm currently at home.
I've got COVID.
I'm going to hit 2-1 and you're just going to have to edit it.
Hey, Brie.
Remember me?
I'm Ben.
I used to produce the show.
Hey, happy five years for being in New Zealand.
They've asked me to share a memory or a fond time we had together.
There's a lot of photos I have in my phone that
should not see the light of day.
This one was taken in
Christchurch of a few
days on the lemonades.
And this is a photo of you
at Fat Eddie's and you'd stolen
someone's hat. I'm pretty sure you stole
that from a listener. But you know what?
Fun night. Hey, have a great night
and I'll see you soon. See ya.
There he goes.
Might explain why we had such bad ratings
in Christchurch at that time. Yeah, maybe.
I wish you guys could see that photo.
No, that photo will
never ever see the light of day.
There's a lot of footage from that trip that would
never see the light of day. That was a bit unhinged, that trip, actually.
But also one of the best trips ever.
It was.
Like, shit, we caused a ruckus down there in Christchurch.
Ellie, we love you, and we love seeing you do great things with the Viva La Dirt team.
Thank you.
And on Twitch, doing some twitching.
Some twitching?
I don't know how to Twitch, but I've seen you doing the Twitch.
That was cool.
Thank you.
You're smashing it, and we love you so much.
And the show wouldn't be what it is if we didn't have you on board from the very, very start.
Thank you.
Well, thank you for believing in me as well and letting me come up here today.
And, Bree, I'm so proud of you for moving to a foreign country.
And I know that was hard for you and scary.
And you've done just so well.
You're flourishing.
You're on TV.
You're on the radio.
You're bloody everywhere.
We can't get rid of you.
So proud.
Mate, I just want to thank you, Ellie, for being here and being someone who you're going to be a friend of mine
your family like forever and ever
and someone I've truly connected with
we have so much in common and sometimes
it's scary how much we have in common
but your friendship means the world
to me and
I love you so much
you're such a good bitch
and I'm so glad you're here
I love you
that's producer Ellie Bree and Clint You're such a good bitch I'm so glad you're here That was the ultimate compliment
That's producer Ellie
We've just been handed bracelets
What's going on with these?
Bless her heart
What are these bracelets?
These are Ears Tour bracelets
I made 82 of them
Did you really?
Did you bring them down to us?
Did you know that we've already given away our free tickets?
Yeah, I knew.
Oh, that's gutting.
We could have rigged it for you for a free bracelet.
Thank you very much.
We really, really appreciate it.
I love it.
I'll cherish it.
Everybody is welcome to come down and join us.
We're at the Lula Inn in the Viaduct.
I said we need to get a queen on next, and we've got one.
The ultimate queen.
The ultimate queen.
Our favorite queen.
And almost the third host of our show at this rate. Yeah, literally.
I'll take it.
I've taken many things, and I'll take that.
Give her a contract, Ross Boss.
Oh, the crowd loves it.
That's the first clap we've had.
Unfortunately, not the first clap I've had.
And that's why she was the winner of the first drag race down under.
Hey, Keita, thank you for joining us.
And thanks for being part of our show over the last few years.
You bring something that nobody else can bring to our party.
You just have an energy about you that we love so much.
And do I resent you for making me wear size 14 men's six-inch stilettos?
No, actually.
I quite enjoyed the experience.
Oh, there you go.
Would you say you're a new man, Clint? Did you? I don't know did you watch the video what did you think i did you did really
well yeah i had i messaged me i had a sneaking suspicion maybe you had done it in private before
look i had the same suspicions and after watching him he was he was so good he stuck it out i even
said to him i was like you have to stand for the whole show to get the full experience.
And he bloody did it.
He stuck it out.
I think it might be my history of rollerblading that gave me the competitive edge.
Yeah, that's the same thing.
Is it?
Are you a bit of an in-line aficionado?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's me.
Hey, you and Bree have sparked a decent friendship over the years too.
I know that she had you in her driveway during lockdown
doing performances off the back of a car.
She actually got me arrested from her driveway.
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
Peering through the windows.
That was a different time.
That was a time where I didn't ask you over.
Can I just say you're such an amazing person
and people that don't know, like, because obviously you're key to me but then
you're also nick to me and you're just such a genuine down-to-earth human you always message
me from time to time with funny little things you always keep up to date and you're just an amazing
human and i appreciate you so much and to be honest sometimes i like pinch myself and think
oh my god i'm friends with Ketamine. It's amazing.
Oh, Brie, you're such a sweetheart.
But you know what?
It takes one to know one, and I truly believe that.
And this country is full of beautiful, beautiful people.
And now we have one more in honour with you now, Brie.
I'm honoured.
I'm honoured.
We plan on inducting her as an official Kiwi just after 5 p.m.
Oh, how fabulous.
Is she your favourite Australian?
Is Brie your favourite Australian?
Absolutely.
I think you're my favourite Australian come New Zealander.
Actually, maybe after 5 you could come on a New Zealander.
I've never said no to an invite, so...
That's the after party.
That is the after party.
Keita's here.
If you want to come and join us for a drink, she looks phenomenal.
We are talking full drag at the moment.
Full drag.
So get on down here.
We're at Auckland's Lula Inn in the Viaduct.
Bree and Clint, my computer has just shat itself,
so someone else will need to click the button.
Gary Hitt.
On Friday's...
Bree and Clint.
We are celebrating five years of the brienne clint show and we're about to initiate
brie as an honorary kiwi just after 5 p.m uh we couldn't do that without speaking to one of our
absolute faves um sometimes co-host of this show the super talented uber babe kim crossman hi
thank you what an intro that was a great was a great intro. This afternoon has just blown
my mind and to be honest I'm so glad you're here because you're my best friend and I love you so
much and you're such a big part of my whole journey here in this country and it's so good
to see you. I know how busy you are but I'm glad we've managed to grab you for this afternoon.
Not only that, I brought my parents with me as well
who consider you their other daughter.
Oh my God.
So that's pretty nice.
I adore your parents so much.
Shout out to Chiefie and Gildo.
I just saw you and your parents walking in
and I thought you had arrived with Mark Sainsbury.
Honestly.
Chiefie.
He gets that a lot.
Sainzo, good to see you.
If anyone wants to buy a drink for him, he's open.
The great thing about my dad, Chiefy, is that he leans into that
and he gets free shit all the time.
And then when he's out with you, he goes,
and she looks like Kim Crosden.
Totally.
You're like, it's her.
No, it's her.
My dynamic duo.
There's a pretty special moment that happened between you and Brie on stage.
I think it was last year now, was it?
Or was it this year?
Last year.
Last year, you got to present Brie with the award for TV Personality of the Year.
Best personality out of everyone.
Out of everyone.
Yeah, I'm just as shocked as you.
She beat Mark Sainsbury.
The most, you know, that whole night, I think the most special part of it was that you got to present me the award.
It was awesome.
I couldn't believe that it actually worked out that way.
And it made it a thousand times more special.
And I'm so grateful.
It was just so nice.
Well, I looked at the trophy because it had your name engraved in it.
And I was like, act cool, act cool.
The nominees are, no one brie no one else it was pretty awesome i was like keep
it together crossman yeah um i know that brie looks up to you as another really quite down
actually she's pretty short i don't know as another like there's a lot of kick-ass females in the media industry
here in New Zealand and you're definitely one of them
and I know that Brie looks up to you. We all
look up to you and having you as part of our show
is really cool. So it's so
good that you could come down and celebrate. Oh god, I'm
just excited. I'm so proud of Brie. She's
the funniest, most delightful human
I've ever met. And you know what?
Yeah. She's also a
consistent friend, which is
hard to find. What does a consistent friend
mean? It means that they're a
cheerleader, which as Kiwis we're not
great at, but she's always like
championing you on and I think
that's something as Kiwis we could be a bit better
at. That's not a slight on
Kiwis. We're wonderful in other ways, but I think
sometimes we get nervous about blowing smoke
or being too precise.
But yeah, she's an awesome cheerleaderleader and if you're having an average day
great therapist
I'll take it
I went to Polytech for it
and also on top of that the funniest person
in the world and has made me fart
with confidence so I think
anything to take away
yeah not heaps of confidence
but just as like it's okay like it's been five years she hasn't given me that superpower yet
I'm still working on I feel like you're warming up to it I don't know if I am I feel like I'd be
happy to go another five years without you getting there I think I'd be fine if that happened I just want to thank you for being
such a down to earth
genuine
lovely person
and
and for allowing me
to be one of your friends
like I'm so grateful
and thank you
for coming down
and being a part of our show
because
our show's all about
having amazing people
and there's so many
amazing people
that are a part of our show
and we're grateful
to have you as one of those people.
Well, it's a tribute to the two of you.
Thank you, Kim. That's Kim Crosman
everybody. We love her. More gifts
to come. More deep and meaningful.
Stick with us. Yeah, more deep and meaningful. Yeah, we're going to cry
next. Stick around.
Bree and Clint.
See it is Bree
and Clint.
Good morning everybody. Bree and Clint. Good morning, everybody.
Brie and Clint, we are live from the Lula Inn in Auckland's Viaduct.
Right now, we are celebrating five years of the Brie and Clint Show.
In five years of Brie and New Zealand, we've got a wonderful room full of people here.
Hi, everybody.
Hello.
Come on down, have a drink.
We're going to be here for a little while yet, and we'd love to see you if you want to celebrate with us.
It's a great vibe down here.
It's already been the best afternoon.
It's been one of the best afternoons of my life.
I'm not even joking.
This has been amazing.
All my favourite people in the same room.
This is incredible.
We have two special performances from two incredible Kiwi artists to happen this afternoon.
Cassie Henderson is going to be performing live here at 6pm.
But right now, to perform live,
very good friend of the show, Georgia Lyons.
Hi Georgia. Georgia Lyons!
I always
joke to people, Clint,
because we always rave about how much
we love Georgia. And we do.
And we do because we're obsessed with
you.
We're deeply obsessed with
you because you're so talented but you're such a lovely genuine down
to earth human and and we truly mean that we love you we've just pulled you out of the recording
studio to come and perform haven't we yes yeah i love it i love it i'm honestly hello wouldn't be
anywhere else yeah thank you thanks for having me and the feeling is very mutual like i just i love
being around you guys.
I feel so gracious, grateful that you guys would support me
and just be in my corner.
Thank you, Georgia.
Absolutely.
You're a superstar.
So we're very lucky to have a live performance from Georgia Lines right now.
What song are you going to do for us?
Monopoly.
Oh, I love it.
I love it so much.
Guys, you are in for such a treat,
like a live performance from Georgia Lyons right now.
It's going to blow your freaking socks off.
It's just Georgia and a keyboard.
So when you're ready, Georgia Lyons, please, take it away.
Take it away.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Here we go.
You got a sweet apartment.
Boy, I love your sister.
You got a fear of thunder.
Because I hate the winter
Brian Clint
Let me win if you love me
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Let me win if you love me
Let me win if you love me
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Let me win if you love me Let me win if you love me
Let me win if you love me
Ladies and gentlemen, that is the incredible Georgia Lyme.
Thank you so much.
And now you see why we're deeply obsessed with it.
That song is called Monopoly.
It's out on Spotify right now.
Thank you, Georgia.
We really appreciate you.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you so much. This is such a Spotify right now. Thank you, Georgia. We really appreciate you. Thank you, guys. Thank you so much.
This is such a massive, massive, I mean, week,
but thank you so much for letting me be a part of this.
Absolute any time.
You're welcome on our show any time.
You're a true friend and family of the show,
so we love you so much.
We're celebrating five years of the Brian Clint Show,
and we're about to very shortly induct you
as an honorary Kiwi citizen.
That is coming up. That's
the big moment. I can tell you the person who
is going to perform that ceremony
is in the room with us right now.
Are they? Yeah, they are. I can't reveal to you
who it is just yet, but somebody in this room
will be doing it. Kim Crossman
just waved to me. She's
just keen. It's not her, but she's keen to do it.
I'll do it if no one else wants to.
That is soon. Right now though, we are making a point of bringing on everybody that is special to our show
to say something this afternoon.
And it would not be the Bree and Clint show if we didn't bring on your beautiful mother, Mama Di.
So phoning us live from country Queensland, welcome to the show, Mama Di.
Oh, my God, guys.
A heads up would have been great, but that's pretty normal, isn't it?
I mean, that sounds magnificent.
And the only thing that I'm regretting today,
and I'm getting emotional, is not being there with you guys.
You know, the show has been amazing.
New Zealand has welcomed Brianna with you guys. You know, the show has been amazing.
New Zealand has welcomed Brianna with open arms.
We were very reluctant to let her go.
But I remember when she was making the decision whether she was going to go or not,
I said to her,
would you regret it more if you don't have a go?
And she said, I would.
And that sums up our daughter. I mean, Brianna will have a go, and she said I would. And that sums up our daughter.
I mean, Brianna will have a go at most things,
except jumping out of a plane probably.
She came pretty close.
She jumped off a bridge this week, so she came pretty close.
I know, I know.
And congratulations to you two as a team,
because you've formed that in five years.
Can you believe that?
Can you believe that?
I can't believe it, Mum.
Oh, my God.
We've talked about the challenges that Bree has faced from moving
to a new country and setting up new friend groups and everything
that is involved with that.
Can you talk a little bit about how hard it was for you?
Because I know you're a very tight-knit family and it's one thing
to have your daughter on the other side of the ocean. It's another thing to be
separated from each other for an extremely long time because of things like COVID-19.
How hard was that for you guys, Mama Di? I think out of all the things that I've endured,
which we've been pretty lucky, that was the hardest thing that we went through not being not being able to see
somebody and even if we could we still couldn't if you know what i mean i think that was the hardest
but i kept saying to her and to ourselves we're both in the safest countries in the world. We're all okay health-wise.
We'll just keep plugging along
and there will be a time that that will change.
And consequently, it did.
But, oh, my God, I would never separate people
or families from each other.
And I think it was done wrong.
But anyway, that's my opinion.
But the thing is...
Let's not get too political
you'll always give out your opinion we'll save that one for our covid podcast mama
but you know what what's so special though is we're so lucky no but with technology
that we could actually still see each other so i mean that was a huge plus but not seeing people
you love is probably the worst thing you can go through,
but it can be a lot worse than that.
Can I just say from me and from our show,
thank you so much for being such a big part of our show
and for putting up with our shit over the years.
And there's been a lot of shit.
And there has been.
We throw a lot at you and you're such an amazing person.
You're my favourite person in the whole world.
And people love you here.
Love you, guys.
Thank you for just always supporting me and backing me
and loving me unconditionally.
And the Bree and Clint show and people that listen to this show
love you so much, so we appreciate you.
We have a tiny bit from Big Steve as well. Oh's a little big steve we asked your parents to record we asked your
parents to record a video message for the broadcast today and as you've heard ben submitted 30 seconds
we got 45 seconds from big gal um your parents went out and filmed a documentary around stanford
so we can't play that whole thing but your dad dad did contribute, so here's a little bit of Big Steve.
Oh, hi, Rana. It's Dad here.
Hi, Brianna. Five years. Wow.
The absolute pinnacle of your career, Brianna.
You know, you swam with sharks.
You've interviewed Ed Sheeran.
But the absolute top of the game
is when you defended off a six foot seven.
I'm not sure if it was a praying mantis or a baby giraffe.
He stopped Ross from getting into the studio so he could play Whitney Houston.
Good work.
I love that.
Yep.
That tops it all.
Oh, shit.
That's so good.
That was one of my favourite moments from our show.
We will be editing together the Mum and a Die
and Big Steve Stanthorpe documentary in time.
Great, great.
But for now, we had to get you on
and acknowledge that the show would not be the same
without you, Mum and a Die.
So we love you very much
and thank you for being part of our first five years.
We hope we can talk to you in our next five years as well.
Absolutely.
Fantastic.
Congratulations to Team ZM.
Bree and Clint.
A special guest who means a lot
to you, is a huge
part of your life, possibly the biggest,
but has not been a huge part
of our show. They haven't featured a lot
on our show over this five years.
They have been on our show. They have
been roasted for some
of their pronunciation recently
but we don't talk to them that much and i thought this is the perfect opportunity to do that
she has begrudgingly agreed to speak live on the radio please welcome to the show brie's partner
sophia she hates this kind of stuff she hates this kind of stuff she She hates this kind of stuff. She's not a fan of this type of stuff. We really appreciate you doing it.
Hi, Sophia.
I don't appreciate the fact that I am after Mama Di.
You don't appreciate that you're after Mama Di?
No.
Constantly in that woman's shadows.
Constantly in her shadows.
How long have you and Brie been together now?
I think about four and a half.
Four and a half years, yeah.
You know her better than anybody else.
I think everybody who listens to Brie on the radio
thinks that they know the real Brie,
but you know the real Brie.
What is the real Brie like?
Oh, she's honestly one of the most loyal people
you could come across.
She is fun, relaxed.
Sometimes.
She's a more relaxed one.
Yeah. And no, she a more relaxed one. Yeah.
And no, she's just like an amazing person.
And I'm like so happy that, you know, you guys are celebrating five years.
Yeah.
And because her whole goal really is to bring joy to other people.
And I think you really do bring so much joy to other people.
And they give her and so happy.
And you guys do that together.
So I'm like super proud of her and you for that.
Yeah.
Do you like that she does all of her fart content
with her mum instead of with you?
Is that helpful for the relationship?
Well, I get a lot of it.
It's just not on camera.
Because you film it as much.
Yeah, yeah, right.
It's so true.
It's so true.
Doing a radio show is a funny thing
because you end up putting your life on the radio,
and you and I have both done this together and separately for a long, long time now.
Yeah.
And you can't do that without a supportive partner, can you?
No.
Something that I think people don't realise is how hard it can be to date someone that is in the public eye or that does a radio show.
Yeah.
And Sophia has been my biggest supporter and someone who has just accepted me for me
and is just such an amazing person.
And I couldn't do...
Pretty much my time here in New Zealand
would not have been the same without you
and I couldn't do what I do without you.
She is literally the glue and the heart that holds me together.
And I love her so much.
I know Brie
with and without you. I know her before you
and after you.
The Brie after you is a much better person.
Let me just say that.
Fair enough. I agree.
I agree. That's fine. Thank you so
much. Thanks for coming down and being part of the special occasion.
Congratulations.
Thanks, babe. We're live from the special occasion. Thank you and congratulations. Yeah.
Thanks, babe.
Bree and Clint.
We're live from the Lula Inn in the Viaduct right now,
celebrating five years of the Bree and Clint show.
And about to induct you officially, Bree, as an honorary Kiwi.
Oh, this is a big moment.
This is what I've been waiting for.
Yeah.
For the last five years, but also this week.
This week with all the four challenges that we made you do,
which you completed.
You smashed them.
That's done.
You have earned this.
To make you an honorary Kiwi,
obviously we have to have someone official do it, right?
It's not going to mean anything if we don't have someone
with some gravitas.
Yes.
With some qualifications.
I've got a feeling.
Yeah?
I've got a feeling as who that might be.
Who do you think it would be?
I reckon, like, when I think official, when I think important, I think of Maddie McLean.
Please welcome up to the stage...
I knew it!
I knew it!
...our citizenship-celebrating Maddie McLean!
Here he is!
Here he is!
Hello, everyone.
Hi, Maddie.
Hello, sweetheart.
Hello, my sweet boy.
I came here because I was promised errors tickets.
Is that happening?
We gave those away.
Did you comment on the Facebook post?
The Instagram post?
Did you get your details in there?
Hey, congratulations, you two.
This is very exciting.
Five years.
Thank you, Matty.
You've been a big part of this show as well.
Yeah, I know.
I've carried this show on my shoulders.
He is our go-to man in a crisis.
We go, shit, Brie's got to go on Field Treasure Island
or Clint's got to have a vasectomy.
What can we do?
They go hand in hand.
Maddy McClain steps up.
Me and Clint's balls go hand in hand.
He's the man for the job.
I could think of nobody better
to officially preside over
the citizenship ceremony.
Yes, well I'm very serious and very important.
You are. That's what I think.
When I think you, I think very serious,
very
decorated.
And official. And official.
And also those dancing videos that you and the other
news people did for a long time.
That's what I think about.
Exactly.
Yeah, I think about that too.
Well, I am a marriage celebrant, but I am, well, I think I'm legally bound to be able to do this.
I do too.
I don't know if the courts see it that way, but I've, yeah.
We'll take it.
I think for an official ceremony like this, we should stand.
Okay.
And it should be you and Maddie.
And obviously, I'm not qualified. ceremony like this, we should stand. Okay. And it should be you and Maddie, and obviously
I'm not qualified, so I'm
going to hand this over to Maddie,
who will officially
recognise you as an honorary Kiwi.
Good luck. Are you ready?
I know this is all, like, not
official and a bit of BS, but I
feel real emotional about it. No, it's very
official. Okay. Are you ready for this?
I'm ready. God, it feels like we're getting
married. I know, I know. When do we kiss?
Recite vow. Yeah, now. Okay.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Lula Inn,
it is my great pleasure to
welcome you to the Honorary Citizenship
Presentation Ceremony
for everyone's favourite
former Australian,
Brie Thomasel.
My name is Manny McLean and as a rigid celebrant,
celebrity man about town and winner of Celebrity Treasure Island.
Don't you forget it.
Thank you so much.
I'm the most talented and qualified person to preside
over this non-legally binding ceremony.
Back in 2018, Brie Thomas-El hopped off the plane
in Aotearoa with her dream
and her cardigan.
Welcome to the land of the long white cloud.
Whoa! Was she gonna fit in?
Brie, during your time
here in New Zealand, you have done
five years of radio
with Clint on ZM.
Oh my God. How did you do it?
Hosted multiple TV shows
and farted on a plane with Jacinda Ardern.
That's a true story.
You've met the biggest Kiwi personalities,
Black Ferns like Ruby Tui,
movie stars like Julian Dennison
and pop stars like Benny and Trude Liss.
You also awkwardly motorboated Lord's Hand
at a brood show.
But that's a story for another day.
Story for another day.
You and Clint broadcast through the pandemic,
keeping Kiwis informed while they couldn't leave the house.
You drove the length of the country in not one but two dubious vehicles,
RIP the Venute and the DeLorean.
Rest in peace.
And now five years on, you've completed all four of your citizenship challenges,
climbing the Sky Tower,
bungeeing from the Harbour Bridge,
facing down a football fern,
and singing the anthem at Eden Park.
A Kiwi is someone who does their best,
never gives up, and never forgets to have a laugh at themselves along the way.
On that criteria alone, you more than qualify.
So by the powers vested in me by Clint over the phone yesterday,
thank you, Clint,
I now pronounce you Brie Thomas-El, an honorary Kiwi.
Fuck yes!
Sorry, sorry about that.
Congratulations.
We've got a little certificate here for you.
Oh, cheer, bro.
Cheer.
Oh my God, this is so amazing.
We're very proud to have you as one of us, Brie.
Congratulations on everything you've achieved and thanks for everything
you've brought to this show, I love you
genuinely and there's nobody that I would rather
be doing this with so thank you so much
guys can I
I just want to say
such a massive
thanks to Maddie for being here
thank you so much.
Your friendship means so much to me.
You and Ryan, a couple goals, and we love you so much.
To Clint, Ella, Claudia, who organised this whole thing.
This has been months and months in the making that I had no idea about,
which I don't know how you did that because I'm always in the know.
She's very nosy.
I'm very nosy. But for you guys to organise this and to put this on for me
is one of the most meaningful things and one of the most meaningful days.
To have all my favourite people here,
this means more to me than a lot of things that have happened in my life.
And I love you, Clint.
I love you, Ella and Claudia
and everyone else that has worked on this show.
Ben, Ellie, Anastasia.
So thank you so much for putting this on.
It's been honestly, and I can say this from the bottom of my heart,
the best five years of my life to be accepted,
to be able to be who I am.
This is the greatest country in the world,
and I truly mean that.
I love you guys so much.
Bree and Clint, you're on ZM.
We'll be back straight after this.
Hit it, Gaz.
Bree and Clint.
ZM, Bree and Clint.
We're live from the Lula,
and we're almost finished
Our live broadcast
It's gone pretty well
I think we've done a pretty good job
As in when I say we
You guys have done the most amazing job ever
We've managed to bring through a
Massive roster of special guests
We've had Kim Crosman on the show
We've had Jez Thornton on the show
We've had Keita Mean on the show
We've had your mum, we've had your partner We've had the show. We've had Jez Thornton on the show. We've had Keita Mean on the show. We've had your mum.
We've had your partner.
We've had everybody join us on the show this afternoon.
Oh, it's been absolutely huge.
And one of the, honestly, when I say this,
one of the best days of my life.
Yeah.
Well, there's one last thing that we want to do
on the show this afternoon.
We have another live performance
from an incredibly talented Kiwi artist.
You will have heard her playing on Zillium already.
Her name is Cassie Henderson.
Hi, Cassie.
Hi, Cassie.
Hello.
You're going to perform for us this afternoon.
You're going to do your brand new single, Whatever.
I am.
Just for you, Bree.
Cassie, that means the world to me.
Stop.
I'll cry again.
I will cry again.
That's your job to get the last tears out of Bree
if you can this afternoon.
Reach and cry.
Yeah, really do a stripped back version.
No, this song is incredible.
We're very privileged to have you on the show.
So when you're ready, the floor is yours,
the airwaves are yours.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is Cassie Henderson.
Give it up.
Brie and Clint.
It wasn't what I wanted, baby.
It was better.
Whatever.
Woo!
Ladies and gentlemen, the incredible Cassie Henderson!
She's amazing.
Jump on that train now before she goes global
because it's going to be massive.
That song is called Whatever.
It's out on Spotify.
It's everywhere right now. It's on TikTok.
It's such a great tune. So thank you so much
Cassie. We love you Cassie. Thank you
for coming down. We love you. If you're in
the area, Cassie's actually going to keep performing
here at the Lula Inn for a little bit longer.
We're going to hang out the headphones for the
day. We're going to hand it over to Brooke who's going to bring
you some of the best parts that have happened down here at the
Lula Inn. And we'll catch you back next
week in the morning on ZM.
We're filling in for Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley for a couple of weeks.
But, Brink, let's go and have a good night, mate.
Thank you, Clint.
I love you guys.
Thank you so much for coming down.
And thank you for listening to our show for the past five years.
We love you.
Brink, you're on ZM.
