Starting point is 00:00:42 Olivia Dean tickets. I mean, we got a ton of them. We will be giving another double pass away with the Olivia Dean ticket blitz sometime this hour, listen out for that activator. We've got another one next hour. We're doing tossers at four o'clock where you can toss your way, double your money.
Starting point is 00:00:59 And also we've got free fuel with rewards rush, all thanks to BP. It's a huge show. So much to give away. A lot on our shoulders. Lucky they're broad. It's a burden we will happily bear. Are you going to mention the other thing you're giving away?
Starting point is 00:01:13 What was the other thing? Toto. Sorry. It's too early for that. I panicked. Honestly, your sense of humour worries me sometimes. It really worries me. It's just so silly.
Starting point is 00:01:25 The next generation. Yeah, can I just please ask the people? What? The video I sent you guys, you didn't find it funny. So, 966, would you find this video funny if this guy was at a party? Oh, she's going to describe the video. Oh, no. We've lost connection with the producers booth.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Hopefully we can't figure out what the problem is. We will kick off the show as per usual with Trady versus Lady. So if you're calling for Olivia Dean right now, don't do that right now. We don't have Olivia Dean tickets yet. We cannot help you. No, you cannot get a leg up by calling through now. So do not call now for Olivia Dean tickets. We are asking for Trady versus Lady.
Starting point is 00:02:11 If you want to play that, you can call now. 0,800 dials at M, 50 bucks. Play Z-Eames, Bree and Clint. Okay, let's play Trady versus Ladies. This is the main event. Trady versus Lady. All right, let's get down to business. The Trades versus the ladies.
Starting point is 00:02:30 The Trades sitting on 17. wins for the year. They cracked the big 70 yesterday. The ladies on 64 trailing behind. Let's meet our Trady who's going to be taking on Trady versus Lady today. He's from Wellington 29. And she, sorry,
Starting point is 00:02:49 she's been trained to escape a helicopter underwater. That is terrifying. Welcome to the show. Leah. Hi, Leah. Why did you need to do that? I'm a flight nurse. So if we go down over the water and he's to know how to escape. Wow! Was that the most terrifying experience of your life?
Starting point is 00:03:09 Yep, I got stuff under the first time. But luckily there's divers there and they got me out straight away. Oh my God. And do they do it like in a pool? Yeah, yeah, it's a big training facility in New Plymouth. Very impressive. Let's see who you'll be taking on this afternoon, Leah. For our ladies, she's from Hamilton. She's 23 and her favorite food is ice cream in a Brioch bun. Please welcome to the show, Ella.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Hi, Ella. Hello. Hi. How did you figure out that was your favourite? Well, I just recently got back from Sicily, and I tried it for the first time, and it's game change. Honestly, I think everybody needs to give it a go. Hell yeah. Look, I don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but if you have a pan matinee and ice cream,
Starting point is 00:03:55 oh my God, it's so good. Wait, what's that? A panneton. People give them out. Christmas time, but it's like a briosh kind of bread, but it's like a special one. I'll leave that with you. You can look into that. But let's get into what we're doing here this afternoon.
Starting point is 00:04:14 You guys are fighting for the 50 bucks cash. Let's go with names as buzzers. So that means Leah, you call out Leah and Ella, you call out Ella when you think you know the answer. First to three takes the win. Are we ready? Yeah. All right, guys, here we go.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Best of luck. Question number one. What's the name of the largest snake in the world? Leah. Yes, Leah. Anaconda? It is an anaconda. Well done.
Starting point is 00:04:43 One to the Trades. We move on to question two. What video game is the character Princess Peach originally from? Yes, Leah. Mario Cat. I'm going to have to buzz you out, Ella. Is it Super Mario? It's Super Mario.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Mario Kart came off the back of Super Mario. Oh, that one stings, Leah. We're one apiece in this game. Question number three, buzz in when you can tell me who sings this song? Leah's hot on the buzzer. It is Olivia Dean, which is what everyone is here for this afternoon. Two to the tradies, one to the ladies. Question number four.
Starting point is 00:05:26 What's the name of the school? Harry Potter attends. Leah, Leah, so quick for the win. What? It is Hogwarts. But no shame there. Leah was just too quick on that buzzer. Well done, mate.
Starting point is 00:05:45 50 bucks coming your way. Yes, she's awesome. Very, very quick. You are welcome. We're talking about this incredible story where a woman was born without a womb and she got diagnosed with it later in life. And when her sister found out about it, she said, I will donate my womb.
Starting point is 00:06:04 and after a successful transplant, that woman is now pregnant. It's incredible what we can do with like science and, you know. It's amazing. So we're asking you this afternoon. Were you born without something or were you born with something extra? Let's talk to Monique. Hi, Monique. Hi, how are you going?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Good thanks. Were you born with something extra or born without something? I was born with a tooth. What? Yeah. My mum was born with two teeth. Wow. So you came out as a baby, came out of the womb and you had a tooth. Yep, just one little tooth on the bottom row. So then I had to go to the dentist when I was 10 days old because my tongue when I was feeding was rubbing on it.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yeah. I have a scar on the bottom of my tongue from it. That is wild. So do they think that's like a hereditary thing because like your mom was also born with two teeth? Well, I thought maybe. And then when I was pregnant with my son, when I had the anatomy scan, I said to the men, you need to cheat if there's any teeth in there. I need to know if there's kids coming out with a full... I need to prepare myself. A full grill.
Starting point is 00:07:13 That's fascinating. My son was born with none, so. Wow, that's so interesting. Thanks for the call, Monique. Very, very cool. A lot of texts coming through on 9-6-96, Claude. Someone said I was born without a sense of humour. You can learn that, though, right?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah, I mean... You pick that up along the way. You can get a transplant somewhere, surely. Someone else said, I'm looking into getting a stomach transplant. Oh. I would have to go overseas for it. Is that a thing? Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:42 That'd be a big surgery. Is that a thing where they do a full stomach transplant? Must be. If yours is failing, then, yeah. Wow. Because I know the liver regenerates. If you lose, like if part of your liver is bad and they get rid of part of your liver, it does regenerate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I mean, I don't know much about it, but I guess if they can do a whole heart transplant. Yeah, surely. Yeah. Someone else said, I was born with an extra leg. We'll just move along. Someone said, my brother was born without a brain. Remarkable story. Oh, we must have the same brother.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Oh, come on now. Someone said, not anything extra or missing, but I have a heart-shaped uterus. Oh, that's lovely. I have heard about this. Most, there's a lot of different shapes, I think, but heart seems pretty special. someone said I was born without wisdom teeth the top and the bottom oh I'm so jealous I was really late in life with getting my wisdom teeth removed and it was horrific if I could have avoided that for free that would have been amazing they say to do it earlier yeah when I was must have been like 26 27 so not even that old and everyone's like oh the longer you wait the more it hurts did you have all four out of the once yeah yep and I'm like oh it's happening so stop scaring me someone said I was born with a half-sol
Starting point is 00:09:03 bladder, does that count? It sure does. Are they being serious or is it just someone who needs to go wheeze a lot? It gets up in the night a lot. Yeah. Someone said, my mother-in-law has an extra muscle in her wrist and her doctors were very confused and couldn't figure it out. Does it make you really good at rock climbing? Got extra grip strength in your wrists? Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Someone said, um, I was born without binocular vision, which means I can only use one eye at a time and I have an extra vertebrae in my back. I had to have a double fusion spinal surgery to fuse it. Wait, the binocular vision thing fascinates me. So can you only focus with one eye at a time? Is that like having a lazy eye
Starting point is 00:09:45 where you have to retrain it and you cover it up and you strengthen that one eye and you put it back in line? Yeah. I wonder if there's any type of surgery where they can get them both working at once. Yeah, maybe. I was born with, I don't think this really counts, but I was holding my ear down forwards and now it sticks out further than the other one. Does it actually? Yeah. That's So buzzy. Can you see? Oh, yeah, it does a little bit. It's quite cute. Someone said I was born missing half my calf muscle. Wow.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Dead is Brinclent. It's time to get the tea. The tea. Live from L.A. with D. McCarthy. Dane, if we didn't already love Olivia Rodriguez, we might love her a little bit more after this. I have 5,000 reasons to love her more, Brie. Olivia Rodriguez, we have found out that she secretly.
Starting point is 00:10:33 secretly donated $5,000 towards one of her fans who was in desperate need of money for tuition. Have a listen to this. Here's a fan. They went on TikTok to share with the world how this generous Olivia Rodriguez was. Check it out. Olivia Rodriguez paid for my final semester of college. Because I'm closing this chapter, I didn't want to leave without saying thank you. I made a video explaining how I was a first generation student struggling to pay my final semester's tuition. Olivia reached out to me privately. She told me she loved my videos. and I was a source of positivity and light for her.
Starting point is 00:11:06 And she wanted to help me graduate. And she did. Olivia, I don't know if you'll ever understand how much that means to me. And that's something I'll take with me forever. Oh, Olivia Rodriguez. She's a real one, isn't she, Dean? She's a real one. But I will say, I think this year the crown for the real one goes to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey.
Starting point is 00:11:26 They donated $26 million, Brees, before their wedding. Two million of that was to the Dolly Parton Foundation, which does extraordinary things, but they just popped up giving millions of dollars around the world as a way to celebrate their wedding. I love when celebrities give some of their fortune back to fans and two great charities. Yeah, it's nice to see.
Starting point is 00:11:46 A little bit of good in the world, right, Dean? Exactly. We need more of it. Hey, thanks, Dean. That is Dean McCarthy, our Hollywood correspondent live from L.A. ZD.N. Brian Clint. Clint away sick, hopefully back tomorrow. The producers, though,
Starting point is 00:12:02 me a hand, run on a muck in the studio. As usual. As per usual. And producer Ellie, you were talking about a story before the show where someone wanted a car for their graduation present. That was what, let me see the scene. A son graduates. The mom wanted to afford to be able to buy his son, her son a Jeep, a car. Okay. Yeah, like that's a pretty amazing graduation present. Isn't it? Like, that's above and beyond. I don't think I got anything. I I think I got a round of a pause. A pat on the back.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Yeah, it was during COVID as well, so no graduation. Okay. I'm fine. Never stopped talking about it. It's all good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're clearly over it. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:12:44 So this mother has blown up online because of the present she did end up buying her son. Okay, so she wanted to buy him a Jeep, a car for his graduation. She couldn't afford it. So what did she end up buying him? So within their culture, this is a sign of respect and appreciation. Okay. She bought him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:02 A goat. A goat. A goat! As your graduation present, I thought. That's a lot of responsibility. I would love that. Yeah, but you chuck it in the backyard. You're good to go.
Starting point is 00:13:11 It provides milk. Look. And cuddles? I'd probably rather the car, if I'm honest. You can't ride a goat to work. Nah. You would, wouldn't you? Also, a goat is a responsibility.
Starting point is 00:13:23 As a young person, I don't really want to have. Oh, as a young person, it is amazing to have a car. But it turns out you have to change the oil. You have to fill it up with water for the window. Didn't know that. When did you find that out? When I ran out. Wait, can I ask you, have you been getting your car service once a year?
Starting point is 00:13:39 Absolutely not. How do people, I don't understand people that don't get their car serviced? No, honestly, the way I view life is I'll deal with the issue when it presents itself in capital letters. No. I've got a rash under my boobs. It hasn't gotten bad until recently and now it's itchy. I'm like, I should do something about it. It's a bad way to live your life.
Starting point is 00:13:57 It is. It's really annoying. Because now it's on my arms as well. I should deal with it. Can you not touch anything in the studio while you're here, please? Yeah, okay. So I can't touch you? No, please.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Sorry. Please don't. It got me thinking about whether or not people were given their first car. I wanted to ask you guys, because obviously we all have had our first cars. I know that. And I want to know if you got given your first car. Did someone buy you that car? Or did you have to buy it for yourself?
Starting point is 00:14:29 I reckon you got gifted a car. Me too. I reckon you've got a hand-me-down car. I feel like the answer is technically yes. But it was like my dad's car, you can drive this, you look after it. I was paying insurance. I was paying all of that. But at the end of day, it's his car and when he needs it back, it goes back to him. Did he buy it for you? No, he already had it.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yeah, so it was a hand-me-down car. So technically, yes. Question. Because at some point you would have moved on and got a different car. Correct. What happened to that car? Did you sell it and keep the money? No, no, I did not.
Starting point is 00:15:04 I gave it back to him and then he gave it to my brother, who is still driving it. Isn't your brother older than you? Yeah. So wait, you got first bite of the cherry on the car. Yeah, I'm the favorite. So your brother got the hand-me-down, hand-me-down car.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Yeah, hammy-down, hammy up. What about you, Ella? I guess technically I got a Honda logo in Christchurch, obviously living in Christchurch as a student, so Mom and Dad paid $1,800. for my little car. Yeah, very grateful. Little shite balls.
Starting point is 00:15:34 It was, yes. It had peeling on the roof. It was great, though. That's what I wanted. And the windows that you have to wheel down manually. Yeah, that's the beauty of a first car. Yeah, that's what it's about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:46 I'm going to assume, Bree, that you bought your own. Oh, no, it was a motorbike. You got given a motorbike at 9. I did get given a motorbike when I was 10. Wait, when you got a goat, and that's how you had to travel around? In diapers. I paid for my first goat, thank you very much. Yeah, no free goats in my family.
Starting point is 00:16:04 No, I actually, I got given my first car too. Wow, okay. Which was same as Ella. Yeah. You know. Great. But I loved it. Same.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I loved that car with all my heart. And honestly, if it wasn't for the safety part of it, I would love another one. I love a crap car. Something about it. You've got one. What? The master two. No, that's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:16:25 I'm kidding. I'm kidding. That car's actually nicer than mine. She's purple. I thought we could ask this afternoon. We do a quick poll of the people. Give us a text on 9-696. How did you get your first car?
Starting point is 00:16:40 Whatever that might be. I would love to hear from like the really passionate like 15-year-olds. They've just got their license and they're like, this is what I want. And they've bought themselves a car. Oh, maybe not the dream car. But like saved up your pocket money. Jeep. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Got yourself a Jeep. Rav-4. I also want people, God, fancy first cars from you. Really? Rev 4. Redford, old, old, Rev 4 I really want them to text through how they got their first car, whether they got given it or whether they saved up,
Starting point is 00:17:06 and what type of car it was? Does a horse count? No. Okay, no horses. Goats are fine. Goats definitely count. Z&M's Bree and Clint podcast. We're talking about this woman who wanted to gift her son a car for his graduation.
Starting point is 00:17:23 She couldn't afford it. Nope. Yeah, wanted to get him a Jeep, couldn't afford it. So got him a goat instead. Which in their culture means respect. Yeah. So, epic, I'll take it. You weren't a fan of the goat.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Well, I just think it's the responsibility is... You went, ew, yuck. I'd rather a car. Well, I would rather a car. If someone walked into the studio today, they offered a car or a goat, are you taking the goat? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:49 I'll jump in and I'll say, I'm taking the car. Yeah. Actually, I'd prefer a miniature pony if we're being serious. You can't pick. You get a car or a goat. Yeah, right. Never mind. Because being serious is your middle name.
Starting point is 00:17:59 We're asking you this afternoon on the text machine 96696. What was your first car? Did you get it yourself? Did you pay for it yourself? Or did you get given the car? So many interesting texts. Let's kick it off with this one. It says,
Starting point is 00:18:16 My brother moved to Australia and left me his car. It's a Subaru legacy. I still drive it five years later. You're very good with cars. Is that a good car? That's not a bad car. I mean, it's a lesbian car. But.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Nice. And after five years, that's your car now. That's not your brother's car anymore. If your brother comes back. Oh, he better not want that. Can he ask for the car back? He can ask. But you can say no.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Give him a goat instead. Someone else said my auntie was getting a new car, so she sold me her two-door Toyota Salika to me for 1,200 bucks. That's a good deal. It's a great deal. Someone else said my niece got a job at 15 while she was still at school, worked a lot, saved, got her license at 16 and bought her own Suzuki Swift. Oh, that's really impressive.
Starting point is 00:19:03 That's super impressive. Suzuki Swift, how much are they? Some of them are quite pricey depending. There's like real top of the range Suzuki. There's like Suzuki Swift sports. There's hybrids now. Yeah. Someone said, I'm over 40 and I'm still waiting to get my first goat.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Me and you both. Yeah. Well, if you keep working hard, you set your mind to it, anything is possible. You never know. Someone else said, I'm 19 currently and I've worked since I was 13 to save up and buy my car at 16. My first car was a wee grey Suzuki Swift with three brothers' mum taught us young to work for what you want. No handouts once you're old enough to get a job. That is a good life lesson.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Is that how you will raise your kids or do you figure that out when you get that? No, I mean, I'm the bloody pushover. Are you? Are you the good cop? I'm the same. Of course I'm the good. cop. My dogs look at me and I just give them whatever they want.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Give them your entire dinner. I'm literally like, you want this whole scotch fillet? You got it. Someone else texted her and said, my now husband 12 years ago dropped a mate off at the airport in the mate's car. So the mate obviously said, hey, can you drop me off at the airport?
Starting point is 00:20:14 We can take my car. At the airport, my husband said, what shall I do with your car? And he was like, oh yeah, you can just keep it. Just like that. I have so many questions. Me too. What kind of car was it?
Starting point is 00:20:29 Did you already have a car? Yeah, was it like, was it a good car? Did the friend ever come back and ask for the car? How many parking tickets were left on that car? Not true, was it a dud as well? Yeah. Lotta needs a whole engine rebuilt. Someone else said, got given my first car when I got my restricted with a strict rule
Starting point is 00:20:45 not to drive anyone on my restricted or it would be taken away. Did you do that and you got your restricted? Well, I can't know. I didn't because as per the law, you were not allowed. Yes. Unless they have a full license. I followed the rules. Me too.
Starting point is 00:21:03 We're talking about what was your first car and did you get given it or did you buy it? Someone said saved up and got a loan from my parents. It was an old mini. It was strung together with bits and pieces and the push start button was on the floor. P.S. I'm not 100. That's so good. Someone said parents surprised. me with a Daihatsu charade for Christmas when I was 18 to bribe me to finally get my license.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Yeah, they got sick of driving new places. Yeah. They were like, can you please? The money we spend on this car versus the time we spend driving you around. It pays for itself. Exactly. Someone said my first car was bought for me by my parents. It must have been in 2004.
Starting point is 00:21:45 It was 500 bucks for a 1987 Holden Barina. Toot Toot Perina. It's so good. Hello. Not a lot of stories about goats. I'm shocked that no one was given a goat instead of a car. No one in New Zealand,
Starting point is 00:21:58 Altito was given a goat. Yeah. Maybe you guys, for my birthday, could get me a goat. Is that what you actually genuinely? Oh, here we go.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Here we go. I didn't get a goat for my first car, but my grandmother did buy me and my sister and brother when I was seven, a goat for Christmas. There we go, baby.
Starting point is 00:22:16 I mean, there we goat, baby. That was worth it. Not for us, but it was for a family in Africa. Oh, so they didn't get a girl. So they didn't get a goat. So they didn't. technically get the goat anyway.
Starting point is 00:22:25 It's still fun though. Someone got a goat. Yeah, at least someone did, hey. We appreciate all your texts. 500 bucks is up for grabs next with What's the Plot. It's our movie, bio-guessing game. And we'll tell you when to call. Not yet, right, Claude?
Starting point is 00:22:41 Not just yet. But stick around. It'll be very soon. Can you tell that Claudia is the boss today? Yeah, I'm in charge. I am the goat. Yes, sir. There it is.
Starting point is 00:22:49 The ZDM Podcast Network. Right now we're doing What's the Plot? Once upon a time, there was a girl. She was smart, debatable, talented, eh, athletic, not really, but picking a movie title based on just the plot line, that she can do. Brian Clince, what's the plot? It is my one and only talent.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Oh, don't tell yourself so short. Name another one of my talents, yeah. Do you know how to skateboard? Nope. Can you do a roly-poly? I used to be able to, but I would beg to differ now. Maybe that is all you have. If you can't do those two things, I don't know what else.
Starting point is 00:23:31 That's it. It's my one thing. And if you can beat me, guessing movie plots, then today you'll win $500 cash. Annabel, I'm taking on you this afternoon. Hello. Hi, how are you? Good. Are you here for the Olivia Dean tickets?
Starting point is 00:23:46 Be honest. Well, I was, but then I joined this game. Hey, 500 bucks, pretty good too. Absolutely. All you have to do. Actually, you know what? Producer Claude is running the game this afternoon, so I'll let her give you the rules.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Here we go. So the way it works, I'll read out plot lines of movies. Don't wait for me to finish. If you think you know what it is, buzz in with your name, give it a guess. First person with two correct movies will take home the win. And like you said, today's $500. Nothing to be sniffed at.
Starting point is 00:24:15 The theme today, since we've got Bree back after a, you know, a bit of time off. Bit busy, I think you were having a baby, maybe. Oh yeah, yeah, did that. That old thing. Did some like cabinet tree probably. But no, we're focusing on the baby. Today we are doing movies with a baby in it.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Okay. I mean, that's wide ranging. Yeah, it's pretty broad. Yeah. So like I said, buzz in with your name, if you think you know it. Here is your first plot. Good luck, everyone. Best of luck, Annabel.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Thanks. It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime. Three friends wake up ruined in a hotel suite. with severe amnesian... Annabel. The hangover. The hangover. Is correct.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Well done, Annabelle. Bree wasn't here freaking out? Did that just escape your brain completely? Every single time, for some reason my brain can't remember the name of that movie recently. Really? Yeah, and so as soon as you started talking, I was like, I know, I don't know the name of it. It's that dang movie.
Starting point is 00:25:16 The baby's called Carlos. I know... How do you know that? It's because it's in my brain, just not the name of it. Oh, my God. Well, well done, Annabel. That is one. point for you so Brie you really need this one
Starting point is 00:25:25 to stay in it. Yep. I really do. I give you a bit of a rogue one. This is fun. In this animated adventure, a young boy becomes... Breebis... Sorry? Sorry, Bree. The boss baby. The boss baby is good. Breedby.
Starting point is 00:25:44 I'm so terrified of losing that it came out as Breedby. So good. Annabel, did you know that one? Yes, I did. Oh, God, I'm nervous. Annabelle's good. Okay, let me pick you a good. good one. Okay, this one is for the win. Lock in everyone. An irresponsible slacker and an ambitious entertainment journalist have a drunken one-night stand that results in... Brie. Oh, I know what it is.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Knocked up. Knocked up. Is correct. I'll tell you what, Annabelle, I got away by the skin of my teeth there. And you're not going to go away, you're not going to go away empty-handed. We've got 50k of C chicken dollars as a consolation prize. Thanks for playing. Thank you. It's ZAM's Brea and Clint podcast. Producers in giving me a hand and I'm glad you hear, girls, because, I mean, I didn't nickname myself this.
Starting point is 00:26:35 I've been given this name from a certain community. Surf arts a lot. Now, that's a different community. Baby mama. That's another nickname. From this community, I've been called the Celiac Crusader. I've heard of this.
Starting point is 00:26:50 And I didn't realize that it was you. You're viral. I'll go on the record. I am not a celiac myself, but I fight for the rights of celiacs, and I think they deserve more, especially in the bread department. Oh, yes. We have not got that right yet. And you're a bread lady.
Starting point is 00:27:07 You love your bread. Bread connoisseur. I am a bread connoisseur, and I think celiacs deserve good bread. They do. They do. But it's not about bread today. Oh. It is about cake. Yum.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Let them eat cake. They once said, I saw news out today. This is a real story that Woolworths. are releasing an iconic, you know their iconic mud cakes? It's the best cake that they have. It's cheap and cheerful, but it's delicious. They've got a fancy range now, but that one's still just the best. Just the iconic, the OG.
Starting point is 00:27:36 They're releasing a gluten-free version in Australia. Oh, but not here. Well, the jury's out. I haven't seen any news that Woolworths New Zealand is releasing the gluten-free mud cake. And I think as the Siliac Crusader, of course, I need to get to the bottom of this, for my celiacs and we need to call head office and we need to ask the question.
Starting point is 00:27:58 It's the least we could do, right? I mean, it's bottom of the barrel the least we could do. So let's put in a call now. I'm going to call Wulworth's New Zealand customer care and we're just going to ask the question. Fair enough. Welcome to Wawberst, New Zealand. Please note your call will be recorded
Starting point is 00:28:14 for compliance and training purposes. Hello, Tony speaking. Hi, Tony. It's Brie here from ZDM, the radio station. How are you, mate? Yeah, good, thanks. That's good. Hey Tony, I'm not going to take up too much of your time, but I have a duty to the people and I wanted to get a comment from you if you knew anything about the gluten-free mud cake if it was coming to Woolworths New Zealand or not. Yeah, we've seen it, but unfortunately not. Unfortunately not at this stage. We're seeing if we can make it work. Okay. If we start a petition, if I get all the celiacs on board, Tony, could we make it happen? Could we bring it here?
Starting point is 00:28:55 Yeah, we can definitely. look at it. We can definitely look at it. There's definitely consume demand for it. We're happy to look at it. Okay. So what I hear from you is that there's a chance. If there's demand from the people, we're more than happy to look at it. Oh, Tony, don't you worry. We're going to come knocking at your door. There
Starting point is 00:29:10 is demand for sure for that gluten-free mud cake. Happy days. Legend, Tony, we appreciate your time. Guys, I'm going to make this my person. I know. I know you. I've got that glimmer in my eye. You do. It's sparkling. I will not let this go, I am going to make this my personal mission as the Celiac Crusader.
Starting point is 00:29:32 You have to. They need a trunch ball that chocolate cake. Yes, we do. Matilda Referex. We need to Bruce Bogtrotter. We need to bog trotter this mud cake. They haven't been doing it for how long. It's time.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I don't know how we're going to do it. I've got a few ideas rolling around in the back of my brain. Does one of them count you doing a nudie run? Covening cake? Always come back to nudie run. No reason. But we're going to make it happen. Off the back of this though, I want to.
Starting point is 00:29:56 I wanted to ask the people this afternoon, my celiac listeners, what is the thing that you would love a gluten-free version of? Ooh. That doesn't exist. Good bread would be a good one, but that does exist. I mean, it's a given. Good bread doesn't exist. Gluten free, good bread doesn't exist.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Is there good gluten-free biscuits these days? Oh, yeah, that's good. I reckon they have got the biscuits right. And wraps. Yeah? Love a rap. Okay, 0800 dials at M. Or you can text us on 969.
Starting point is 00:30:26 6. Sealyacs. This is your platform. A ZM's Breinclint podcast. Breenclent, or should I say, the celiac crusader. Sater. I need to get a sting made up for myself. Need a bat signal to go up. Yeah, exactly. Look, I'm not a celiac, but I fight for the rights of all celiacs where I say we can do better. You're an ally. I'm absolutely 1,000% an ally. And I think. we need better versions that are gluten-free of certain things. I heard word from across the Dutch that Woolworths are doing a gluten-free version of their famous mud cake and I said,
Starting point is 00:31:07 where's New Zealand's? We need it here. The texts that are coming through have really put my privilege into perspective. Like I have no food allergies, really, intolerances. And when you ask, like, you know, what kind of things do you want to see? I couldn't think of anything. I'm like bread, I guess. Because you're privileged. Exactly. I'm living this privileged life where I get to eat what I'm I want. So we want to make the world a better place. As the Siliac Crusader, I have taken it upon myself to ask you guys the community, what would you like a gluten-free version of? And some of the suggestions are fantastic, I must say, kicking it off with a very strong contender for KFC. Oh, yes. Quite a few texts coming through. They want gluten-free popcorn chicken. Oh, yum.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Anything from KFC in a gluten-free version. You're missing out at the moment. It would blow their minds. I mean, let's give it to them. If KFC's listening, they're a big friend, big sponsor of the show. Let's get some gluten-free KFC happening. Someone else texts through and they said, I'd love a gluten-free tiramisu.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Oh, you're missing out on these things. I'm so upset for you. My sister-in-law, my brother's wife, is gluten-free. She's a celiac. So I, at Christmas time, will make a gluten-free version of all the Christmas food. And when I make the tiramisu, I have to use like the gluten-free scotch biscuits, which it's not the same. It's not the same. She never complains and she's always grateful, but I know it's not the same. So a gluten-free Savoyardie biscuit, which are the biscuits used to make tiramisu
Starting point is 00:32:42 would be great. Someone said, celiac here, I want a good pasta that doesn't turn to glue. I must admit, a lot of the gluten-free pastas I've had. It gets like stuck in your teeth. Yeah, it's just not quite there. It's like bread. It's not quite there. If we can invent vaccines, we can invent a good gluten-free pasta, you know? Someone said, being a celiac for 11 years now, and I would love a good cheesy garlic gnarne with my curry. Oh.
Starting point is 00:33:10 See, that should be a birthright. This is next level thinking, too. Yeah. It's a lush. Someone said, thanks, Bree, our celiac crusader, for being an advocate. You're welcome. Can we get a decent gluten-free beer? Oh.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Is it, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe that a corona is gluten-free? I have not a clue. I feel like they are, but I could be way off there. Someone else said I want gluten-free hundreds and thousands pink biscuits. This is making me sad all the things people have to miss out on. I know, these people deserve to have these things. Someone else said, coming from a celiac, I would love a gluten-free pop-tart and grain waves. You deserve to have those things.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Another one. Another thing is the Uncle Toby's brown sugar profile profile sachets. Porridge sashes? Porridge sachets. That's exactly what it would be. Someone else said, what about gluten-free Biscoff? Oh, is Biscop not gluten-3?
Starting point is 00:34:09 I mean, it's a biscuit. How hard can that be, though, right? You just swap the flour out? Yeah. Someone said coronas have very low gluten in them. So not good for celiacs. Siliacs couldn't drink them then because they can have zero gluten. gluten. God, eye opening from the celiac community. We appreciate you guys. We see you. We hear you.
Starting point is 00:34:33 We will fight for you. I'm very aware of my gluten privilege. I'm not going to let this go either. I'm going to hound Woolworths to bring that gluten-free mud cake to New Zealand Woolwaters. We need to get you a celiac crusader outfit. What would it be? Just like a narn bread? Really dry narn bread. Yeah. Just a real crumbling. bread. I leave crumbs everywhere I go. Or sticky pasta. We appreciate you guys. Last one, someone said burgerings, gluten-free burgerings. Yum! Yeah, the community deserves burgers.
Starting point is 00:35:06 We appreciate you guys. We're going to do a birthday banger next. The number one song in your 16th birthday, we would love you to take part. If you've never found out yours or you want to do a friend or a family member's birthday banger, give us a call now. 0800 dial Z at M and we'll play them next. Clint's not here, so we could play all three. True, triple birthday banger. Play Z-Dems, Bree and Clend. Time for your birthday bangers.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Bree and clen. All I want from my birthday is a birthday banger. Your birthday banger is the number one song on your 16th birthday. You call us. We figure it out and then we tell you guys what your birthday banger is. Then we'll play our favorite one out of the three. Who are we going to kick it off with, Claude? First up is Ashley.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Hello, Ashley. Hi, Ash. Hi, hi guys. How are you? Good, mate. How's your day been? Yeah, pretty crazy. Not too bad. Oh, good to hear. Hey, what is your birthday, mate?
Starting point is 00:36:00 The 7th of May, 1998. All right. That means you were 16 in 2014. We've done our calculations, and this is your birthday bang. Huge from Calvin Harris, Summer. Do you like that one, Ash? Yeah, it's not bad. I'm not disappointed. Oh, well, good. She's like, mah. That's what we aim for. I'm not obsessed with it. Not disappointed.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I like it. Stick around. It could win. Let's talk to Kate. Hi, Kate. Hi, guys. How are you? Good, Kate. What have you been doing today? Oh, you know, just cranking out the work.
Starting point is 00:36:40 Yeah, pretty busy. What do you do, Kate? Um... Oh, it's something secretive, is it? Yeah, pretty secretive. Wow, I like it. Can Claudia and I each have a guess and you can just tell us who's closer? I work in an office, let's just say.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Hmm. The office of the CIA? Yeah, she's a spy. Pretty much. Yeah, it feels like that sometimes. Scandal, Kate. I love the mystery. Scandal.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Hey, what is your birthday, spy, Kate? 26th of May 1983. All right, Kate. That means you were 16 in 1999. And on that day, this was number one. Kate, you've got to be stoked with the back street, boys. Oh my gosh. My sister will be stoked as well.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Is she a big fan? Oh, we both are, yeah, absolutely. Did you guys each have your favourites in the band? Nothing springs to mine, but I tell you, there was a lot of practicing that in the lounge. Oh, yeah, mate. For sure, for sure. Well, it's a great one. It definitely could win.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Let's talk to one more. Renee. Hi, Renee. Hi, Brie. How are you? Good, Renee. How's your day been? It's great.
Starting point is 00:38:01 I got through to time. cost her and $1,400. Shut up. This is that, Renee. Yeah, I've been trying to get through for Olivia, but I've got through to two others, so that's cool. Mate, you have a knack for this thing. A bloody knack for it.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Hey, well, let's see if you can top it off and get a good birthday banger. What's your birthday? The 27th of the 8th, 1984. All right, Renee, that means you were 16 in the year 2000. And let's see if Renee gets a good one. Oh, come on, Renee. Oh, Robbie. Everything's coming up, Renee, today.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Rock DJ, Robbie Williams. You've got to be happy with that. My mum would be. She loves Robbie. I love Robbie. I can't wait for him to come later in this year. Are you going to take your mum? No, probably not.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Yeah, probably not. Not my capacity. Renee's like, nah. My mum doesn't deserve to go. No, she did. She's the problem. Renee's like, I can't be bothered to take it. Yeah, no, I hear you, Renee.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I hear you. She'll probably get tickets herself. Hey, hold there. We're going to vote on which song we like the most. Honestly, I'd be happy with any of them. Me too. Producer Ella, is she paying attention? Nah, she's dozed off. No, she's on her way.
Starting point is 00:39:26 I'm here, I'm here. What would you like out of the three, Ella? Well, first vote for Ella. Oh, I would go Calvin Harris, to be honest. Okay. That's going to pick up the vibe. And what would you go, Claude? I am leaning towards the Backstreet Boys, which I didn't think I would.
Starting point is 00:39:40 It made me want to sing along. I think with how much Kate was on board, it sold me on Backstreet Boys. Secret Agent Kate. Sorry, Ella. It's all right. It's not personal. It's okay. Not personal.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Kate, you've won birthday banger, my friend. Oh, lovely. No, that's really cool. I'm going to be singing that song all night now. Oh, good on you. We'll get it on right now for you and your sister, okay? Awesome. Thanks, Kate.
Starting point is 00:40:08 The Backstreet Boys, this is your birthday banger. I want it that way. On ZM with Bree and Clint. You are my fire. ZDM's Brea and Clint podcast. Someone call heaven because some angels' voices have been stolen. I'm happy with that choice. The Backstreet Boys, I want it that way.
Starting point is 00:40:34 That is your birthday banger for today. No regrets there. The Backstreet Boys. They've got a great back catalogue too, don't they? Honestly, whenever Clint talks about how we went to Vegas to see them. I'm jealous. I'm so jealous. To his face, I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's so cool.
Starting point is 00:40:48 But it would actually have been amazing. Their residency at the sphere. I wonder how long they're there for. They've just added more dates. I think they're doing our, correct me if I'm wrong, New Year's dates. Yeah, right. How cool. Very, very cool.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Z. Franklin. Claudia. Hello. You've brought something to our attention. Yeah, this is something that I think
Starting point is 00:41:10 we don't see either eye on and it might fix it for us. What do you mean? We agree on everything. Oh yeah, we 100% have the exact same opinions on everything. I feel like I know
Starting point is 00:41:21 what you're talking about and when it comes to anything fart related, you and Clint sit on the prude side of the fence. No, no. The prude. Nobody.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Farts. No, I'm sitting on a very professional side. I'm in a workplace. I'm just trying to do my job. And if you and Ella like to talk to yourself around the office, then so be it. But I will be saying that I do not appreciate it. Excuse me, I feel like I'm quite respectful. She's saying she's not fun. And Ella and I are a little bit more from the side where we're like, hilarious. That's so funny. Farts are funny. But I don't in the office. It's very rare. So many videos of you going, Prey, shut up. Unless it's for content.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Which is most days. Doesn't count if you film it. It's not going to be good when you take me to HR and it's all on film. Evidence is very much there. I've come across something that could be a nice midground solution for us to land on. It's come from a teacher, I believe, in like an early childhood, you know, kids. Okay. This is an idea we could put forward, but this is what she's.
Starting point is 00:42:32 done. This is our fart corner. This is our fart corner. If you need to fart, simply come over here, fart, take about 10 second get your little spray going on, go sit down. Nobody's paying attention. Nobody cares.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Nobody's worried about it. Oh, fun police. Oh, no. Is that you? So she's making everyone. She's making all the kids stand up in front of the whole class, go to the fart corner. And then she's got a little room spray deodorizer and to cover up the fart that's now in the corner.
Starting point is 00:43:05 I'd want a new teacher. Nah. Kids must have been letting rip in that classroom. You know, the farty little kids. Yeah. Too deny. So you're not into the solution to meet me halfway? He's my only issue.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Of course, I'm always happy to negotiate and to compromise. Okay, let's negotiate. My question is, which corner? Okay, so for people at home, we work in two studios that are connected. Ella and I are in the producers one together and Clint and Bree are in the other one. I vote a corner in the Bree and Clint studio.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Yes. In the glass box. Yeah, in the glass box and not in my lovely clean producer booth. Well, I propose that it's in the back corner of the producers booth. Yeah. Where there's airflow coming in and out of there more often because the doors are
Starting point is 00:43:55 opening. That is a fair point. But there are also guests. People come in unannounced. And if they've She's She's fine So you're the problem Yeah I should go outside Yeah the vegan's the issue
Starting point is 00:44:07 It's the beans guys Too many beans It's not good All the legumes that you're eating What if we set up the fart corner In the main ZM office So that none of us are directly Walk a shame
Starting point is 00:44:17 Just like hey guys It's me again We have to walk all the way Into the ZM office Every time If you're doing that like 10 times a day Why we just try it out for a week And see what happens
Starting point is 00:44:27 Okay Hang on I got to go Ella let's tell Claudia That's what's happening Oh, yes, she never knows. And then we'll just go about our business. What are you guys talking about? Nothing.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Gotta go. To the studio. To the Vart Corner. ZD.N's Brancel. This Saturday, the Black Ferns will duke it out once again with Australia's Walleroo's at Go Media Stadium. And joining me right now is one of the stars from the Black Ferns. It's Maddie Mad Dog Robinson. Giday, Maddie.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Hey, how you go ahead. Dare I ask how you got the nickname Mad Dog. Look, I don't know. I think it's actually probably a bit more of an off-field nickname, but I'm trying to embody it on-field a bit more. I see what you're saying. I see what you're saying. It's like a different persona that comes out off the field, is it?
Starting point is 00:45:13 Yes. Yeah, no, it's probably something I need to bring on the field a bit more, though. Hey, we'd love to see it this Saturday. Your last game against the Walleroo's took place on the sunny coast, and you guys just got the win, 40 points to five. How's the team feeling going into Saturday? Good, good, yeah. really excited. Obviously it's just another
Starting point is 00:45:33 job to do, so yeah, we're all working pretty hard at the moment. What is a typical day in the world of Maddie Robinson? What does a day look like for you as a professional rugby player, Maddie? Morning walk, good bricky, training,
Starting point is 00:45:50 chill out, training. Food, food, food. Sounds like a lot of training. And a lot of food. What is, do you have like a ritual before, like on game day that you eat? What's the meal that you eat before a game? We actually get sushi. We chicken sushi doesn't go amiss, which is pretty good.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Okay, how many pieces of sushi are you putting away? Oh, I don't really know. I don't know if I want to keep count today. Fair enough. I want to ask you, for the little ones that are listening right now who have dreams of being where you are when they grow up, what's the best bit of advice you could give them? Just have a go and have fun.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Like, this is just the best job in the world because I get to hang out with my mates every day and train and have fun and I couldn't recommend it more, but you've just got to give it a go. What is your favourite part about putting on the Black Ferns jersey and getting out on the pitch? Just playing rugby with your mates.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Like it's training and, you know, it results in that, but it's pretty amazing to be able to represent your country but at the end of the day, it's a game that we're playing still. Absolutely, mate. Well, we can't wait to see you guys take on the Walleroo's this Saturday. Media Stadium in Auckland. Tickets are still available at all blacks.com.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Maddie Robertson, thanks so much for joining us and best of luck for Saturday. Thank you so much for having me. We hope to see some people there. Thank you. Thanks, mate. Cheers. Bye. Dead Am's Breanclins, podcast.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Let's play The Password. Welcome to The Password. If you've never heard this, it's pretty simple. We give out one word clues. You have to tell us, based on those clues, what the password is. Claudia, you've gotten the call up for the Big leagues. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:32 I've always wanted to play this. Normally I write the passwords for you. Yes. And then I watch you struggle and I sit from my high horse and go, you should have done this word. Oh my gosh, you should have done it in just one. Well, let's see how you go today. Clint's off sick.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Hopefully he's back tomorrow. But I reckon you're going to do well. I really hope so. I've got a lot to prove. Let's hope for Isla's sake you do do well because you're on team Claudia, Ila. Yeah, sounds good. All right. That means Paige, you're on my team.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Hello. Hello. We are playing for a chemist warehouse prize pack. Where are the passwords, producer Ella? The passwords will be on your sheet. Okay. Yes. We don't get to look at the passwords before we play.
Starting point is 00:48:17 Is this all right? So you have to think on the fly. These are good words. Okay. Good luck. Right, do you want to go first? Oh gosh. Yeah, I've really talked a big game now.
Starting point is 00:48:28 It's my game to lose. Okay, Ila. Your first clue is, um, theatre. Film? Did you say film? Yeah. No, it's not film. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Oh, this is a hard one for me, Paige, but I'm going to do my best. Sewer. Sewer? Sorry, did you say sewer? I did. A sewer. Yes, sewer. S-E-W-E-R?
Starting point is 00:49:07 Yeah. Pooh. I love where you're thinking, and I wish there was a password that was poo. I love it. Okay. I love. I don't know where to go with this. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:24 What have I said? Theatre. I'm going to say, concert. Stage? Stage. Are you serious? I love it. Yay.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Oh my gosh. I really didn't think you were going to get it from that, but we really, we synced up. Okay. I'm fizzing. This is great. That means I have one more shot. Paige, you and I have one more shot to get this right. I don't like our chances, but we're going to do our best, okay? Shower. Are you serious, Paige?
Starting point is 00:50:21 I didn't have any bloody hope, and you've come through and you've done it. It was, Drain. Well done. Thank you. That means... We're a bunch of winners. We are a bunch of winners. Camus Warehouse Prize Packs for everyone. Thanks for playing the password, guys.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Thank you. Thank you. What a rush. That was fun. Did you have fun? Oh my gosh. I'm like... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:44 I want to do that every day. Well, try and steal Clint's job. You can tell him when he gets back, okay? The ZDM Podcast Network. And that, my friends, Fano. That is the end of the show. I'm bringing back this music. I like this at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Me too. I love the drums. Bum, boom. Do you're any drums in the song? I thought there was like, don't gaslight me. That's nice. It's not different.
Starting point is 00:51:15 God, it's been a day. I'm exhausted. Honestly, me too. And I understand why you are. Giving away things is exhausting. Today we've given away heaps of double passes to see Olivia Dean. We gave away
Starting point is 00:51:28 money with ZDM's tosses. We nearly gave away 500 bucks with What's the Plaw. That was close. We gave away free fuel thanks to BP. All right, what haven't we given away? We gave away tickets to see the Black Ferns take on the Walleroo. Oh gosh, we've got everything. See everyone want my laptop if you want to keep
Starting point is 00:51:44 giving things away? Oh, 800 dials at him right now if you want producer Claude's work laptop. And I think on that note, we'll see you tomorrow by. Bye-bye. Play ZM's Brie and Clint on Instagram's Facebook.
Starting point is 00:51:58 TikTok and live weekdays from 3 on ZDM.
