Starting point is 00:00:00 Show requested, so here it is. As long as you've got da-da-da-da. It's Z-M's Brie and Clint podcast. Z-M's Brie and Clint, thanks to KFC. Z-A-N's Brie and Clint. We hold tight into B-B-B-M-B-M. Afternoon, everybody. Welcome to the Brie and Clint show.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Afternoon, guys. Afternoon. What's today, Tuesday? Tago Tuesday. How many Fridays, how many weekends to Christmas is what I want to know. I love these questions. You want to know how many weekends or how many Fridays? How many weekends? How many weekends
Starting point is 00:00:36 before Christmas? Essentially the same question, isn't it? Yeah. To Christmas. Which I feel like it's not many. How many do you think it is? Don't count. Like nine? What do you feel like it is? Are you going to be disappointed then it's 12? Okay. I'm actually, no, I'm actually like excited by that
Starting point is 00:00:56 because I feel like it's better. It's just over a quarter of the year to go. Oh, she doesn't. do fractions. I know what a quarter is. It's the only fraction. Hey, guys, the only fraction I don't know is a third. What about a fifth? An eighth? An eighth? A sixteenth. I feel like if I really tried, I could understand any of them. Four fifths? Four fifths are twenty.
Starting point is 00:01:28 One twentieth. Hey, it's one of the things we love about you. We have a fun show on the way for you today and you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, the only thing I care about is deal or reveal. And that's cool if that's what you're here for. If you just hear for the money, that's going to happen at 4 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:01:44 The Activator for new players, about 5 to 4. Well, technically it's like 3 and a half minutes to 4 if we're on time. But if you're listening from like 10 to 4, you will definitely hear the activator for Zadems deal or reveal where there are, I believe, seven cases left. The odds are. of picking the $5,000 case are getting better and better.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Just check in with Bank of Claudia. Is the $5,000 still available, Bank of Claudia? Sure is. Yeah, didn't go this morning with Fletchuan and Haley, so it's still up there. If someone selects the $5,000 case, because obviously you know and we don't,
Starting point is 00:02:20 you can't prove that. How much will you be offering them to not open it? I plead the fifth on that one. No, you can't use fractions. Bree doesn't understand them. Yeah, how much of the $5,000? thousand is a fifth? 1,000.
Starting point is 00:02:35 That was a test. I'd offer a thousand. Okay. See, we got it out of her in the end. Interesting. Interesting, interesting, interesting. That's coming up at 4 o'clock, ZM's deal or reveal. First, Trady versus Lady, and I'm sending, like, I don't have favourites,
Starting point is 00:02:49 but I'm sending positive vibes to the ladies who are getting spanked at the moment. I reckon they could do it. Yeah. Claudia have figured out how many games they need to win before the end of the year and how many games are left. From memory there's 52 games before the end of the year And the ladies need to win about 36 of those games It's not die a yet It's not do or die yet
Starting point is 00:03:11 Three quarters of the games Probably, brew Give or take Hey if you want to be Three fifths Three fifths, yeah If you want to be within that three fifths Then you've got to call today
Starting point is 00:03:22 Play ZDEMS, Bree and Clint This is the main event Treaty This is Ladies Right now, though, the ladies go on head-to-head with the Trades and God, they need a win. They're on 76 for the year. The Trades way out in front on 89.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Let's see if a young person can kickstart the ladies back into action. They are 17 and they're on their way home from work. Welcome to the show, Kyia. Hi, Kaya. Hi. Would you say you have a broad knowledge of a bunch of different things or what would be your specialty category? I mean, hopefully I know a lot of things.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I'm not really sure. I've got the faith in you, Kai. You know a lot about a lot. Hopefully. You are smart. You are, what's the line? You are strong? You are brave.
Starting point is 00:04:15 You are a bad mother. Oh, you're a badass mother who won't take no crap off of nobody. Hell yeah. You're taking on our tradie, who's 32 from Christchurch, and he's a big Leeds United fan. and welcome to the show, Jake. Good day, Jake. Hello.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Where did your love of Leeds come from, Jake? All my family's partners. I've always followed. Did that a Leeds accent? Proper Leeds accent, right, Narvan. Proper Leeds accent. There is. Well, that's where it's come from.
Starting point is 00:04:46 More importantly, how do you feel about beating a 17-year-old? Oh, easy. Yeah, okay. All right, well, let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is. Your buzz is trading. Kaya, yours is lady. And the first to three correct answers gets the first. 50 bucks cash from KFC.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Good luck, guys. Here we go. Question number one. Which famous motor race takes place this weekend at Australia's Mount Panorama? Trade. Yes, Jake, just got in. Grand Prix. No, not Grand Prix. Kaya?
Starting point is 00:05:16 F1. No, not F1. Hey, it was worth a shot. The F1 was on Sunday night, so it was worth a shot. It's Bathurst is what we were looking for. Bathurst. We move on to question two. Name the TV show.
Starting point is 00:05:29 that had this song as the opening theme song. California. Oh, it's from the 90s. Oh, fuck. You got it, Kaya? You got it? It's like Jersey Shore or something. Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:49 So close. Jake? I've no idea. It was the O-C. California. I love that Kaya said it was from the 90s. You hear that? Millennial hearts breaking all around the country.
Starting point is 00:06:04 We move on, no points there. I've never watched it either, Jake. Don't worry. You guys are missing out, honestly. Question number three, buzz in when you can tell me who sings this song? Kaya just got in. Samba, yeah, you're on the board, Kaya. Well done.
Starting point is 00:06:23 We move on to question four. Originally, the group Little Mix had how many band members? Treader. Yes, Jake. Five. Kaya? Four? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Was four, two to the ladies. That's unlucky, Jake. Very unlucky. Question number five. Can we get a score update? Two to the ladies, none to the tradies. Wow. You need this Jake to stay in at question number five.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Let's go. Which William's sister is more successful when it comes to tennis? Yes, Kaya. Serena Williams? Oh, my God! She's a lady. Oh, whoa, oh, she's a lady. A true underdog story, Kaya.
Starting point is 00:07:05 You did it. took down our tradie 3-0. Rubbish from the Poh, man. Jake, a few own goals there from you, mate. Oh, let down. Kaya. Well, no, you know, you look to fight another day. Call back any time and have another crack, Jake.
Starting point is 00:07:22 But, Kaya, well done. 50 bucks and a win. Awesome, thank you. I just love Jake's accent. Isn't it good? Ladies needed a win and they got it. They moved to 60. Finally, trade-y.
Starting point is 00:07:34 No, what? No. What? What's the score? 77 they moved to. Ladies, 77, Tradies, is that say 89? 89, yeah. 89, Brie and Clint's.
Starting point is 00:07:44 ZDM's Bree and Clint Podcast. Trady versus Lady, the ladies just broke a bit of a losing streak. It is nothing compared to the losing streak that I'm about to tell you about. This weekend, the Wallabies are playing the All Blacks in game one of the Blitters Low Cup at Eden Park. The Wallabies are on a generational losing streak to the All Blacks. at Eden Park. They haven't beaten them there in 14,639 days. How many games?
Starting point is 00:08:17 40 years worth of games. That's ridiculous. I don't know exactly how many games. I can probably find out, but... It's a lot. 40 years. They last beat the All Blacks at Eden Park in September 1986. Not a single person in this room, me included.
Starting point is 00:08:36 was alive the last time they won there. Not a single current Wallaby or All Black was alive last time they won. But there's always a chance. I mean, didn't they have an upset game against the Springboks recently? They did two weeks ago. They beat the world champions.
Starting point is 00:08:54 They beat the best team in the world, South Africa. Yeah. So there's a chance. But I feel like Eden Park is a big ask. That's what they say. They call it the fortress. They say they're All Black. don't lose there. It's not just the wallabies. The all blacks haven't lost at Eden Park for,
Starting point is 00:09:11 I don't know what is, something crazy like 26 years, which is insane. It's also insane to talk about it because it's going to happen. And the more you talk about it, the bigger deal you make it. And when it does happen, people are like, no, demolish the stadium. Keep it interesting. It's like when, it's like when, because I said to you, I was like, oh, well, why would you go to the game? You know who's going to win. No, you don't. But you kind of do. But you don't. Never know.
Starting point is 00:09:37 It's like when, and look, I am a Marones fan through and through. You know how much I live and breathe the Queensland Marones. But when they won every series, eight series in a row, like it just, it took a little bit of the excitement out of it. Yeah, sure. You know? I agree with that. You know, and you kind of wanted New South to get up because that's the whole point. Yeah, but you don't want to give it to them, you know?
Starting point is 00:10:05 You don't want to give it to them. They don't want us to give it to them either. Of course you don't want them to give it to them. You don't want to just roll over, do you? But you want it to be interesting. There's always a chance. There's always a chance, okay? And it's not like the wallabies haven't beaten the All Blacks, they have recently. Plenty of times.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Well, not plenty of times. A few times, sometimes. Not at Eden Park. But not at Eden Park. No. Okay. It is, like I said, a generational losing streak. 40 years, you're right, it's almost too big.
Starting point is 00:10:30 It's almost like psychologically so big that it sounds insurmountable. Well, it didn't stop. the nights though a couple of weekends ago. No, I did stop them. No, it didn't. What do you mean? Didn't stop the nights from winning. Oh, at Eden Park?
Starting point is 00:10:46 Well, they hadn't beaten the Warriors on home turf. Oh, you're talking about the Warriors game. Yeah, right. On home turf. I'm not talking about Eden Park, but on home turf. I'm pretty sure since 2019 or 2018. Yeah. Like a long time.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I want to talk to people who have been on crazy losing streaks. We've done this before and I always find it interesting, whether it's an indoor netball team or something. outside of sport like a dating losing streak or something like that. Are you cursed? Are you a little bit cursed? Yeah, it's a curse.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Maybe you've broken the losing streak now but it went on for a crazy amount of time. It doesn't have to have been 40 years. Like I doubt there's anyone listening on a 40-year losing streak. Like did you in your club team in whatever sport it was, did you not win one game all season? Yeah. Like that is an awful season.
Starting point is 00:11:34 But it would become a thing. It would become a thing. you'd just be the team that loses. But you'd be striving in the end to not get a win because you're like, imagine if we go all season without a win. Yeah, yeah, yeah. At least it gives you your season a point of difference. Yeah, you're like...
Starting point is 00:11:47 That's the season where we didn't win a single game. What a season. For other reasons. That was record-breaking that season. Yeah, it was. Dead end up. Pangellent. Page is on the line.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Hi, Paige. Hi, Paige. Hello. What's your crazy losing streak, Paige? Um, I can't, I couldn't go to a concert for so long. Um, there was, do you remember the sluds? Sure do, the Elton John. Stopped me from going from one last.
Starting point is 00:12:15 And then COVID Stormsy got postponed. Oh my God, yeah. And then Ice Cube tickets, I ended up buying some fakes by mistake. No. No. And then Shaboozy was sick. So. Your, your concert.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Your concert. I said I'd never go to a concert. What is the next concert you have tickets to? I did get to go to Ed Sharon. Oh, you did? Okay, that one happens. That's lucky you went then because I don't know if you would get to go now. Also, do you think that maybe you cursed Ed Sharon? Oh, you've passed on the curse.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I wasn't allowed to buy the tickets. My boys didn't. Yeah. Yeah, there are people listening right now going, please tell me she doesn't have tickets to Olivia Dean. Yeah, can you not go to Olivia Dean? Please, I really want to go to that show. I don't want there to be a flood that means Olivia Dean gets cancelled.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Geez. Yeah, I remember I went through a similar. thing. Yes. Missed out on Elton John twice. And Harry Stiles. And Lord in the same week. That's right.
Starting point is 00:13:13 You were concert cursed. Yeah, I was fuming. She was the saddest sack. I got COVID and I missed Harry Stiles and Lord in the same bloody week. Yeah. Inconsolable. We asked about your crazy losing streak.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Someone said, does a losing streak in love count? Absolutely it counts. Definitely counts. And that would feel even worse to have to try and break. Because you would feel like you were cursed or broken or, you know. And then you end up. up getting in your own head because you're like, oh, this is never going to work. But that happens with sport too.
Starting point is 00:13:41 You get in your head like this text from Matt, he said in 2009, my first year playing football, we didn't win a single game. In fact, we got demolished in every game. Our first game was against Mount Albert Grammar and we lost 31-0. By the way, this is soccer, not rugby. Holy hell. I don't know if I've ever heard of a soccer match going to 31. That means if you played the full game, there was a goal every three minutes.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Now, that's an exciting game of soccer. That's insane. At what point? What are you? What are you? What, you told us about the mercy rule in softball and baseball. They've got to bring it in. Surely.
Starting point is 00:14:21 There's no coming back from 31-0 down. What do you think should be the mercy rule in soccer? Like, once you get past a certain amount. 10 goals in the second half. Yeah, it's 10 or more goals. It's done. If there's less than... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Yeah, it should be first to 10 wins, right? First to 10. And game over. No, actually not first to 10. Because if you're on 10 and I'm on 9... Yeah, if there's 10 goals between... Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then it should be all done and dusted.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I'm on a crazy lifetime losing streak with the lotto. Oh, yeah, I mean too. One day I'm going to hire an Etsy witch to break the curse. Wait, what's an Etsy witch? From Michelle, the local loser. I know Claudia will know what an Etsy witch is. Yeah, you'd be right. It's basically, you know, it's Etsy, the website.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Yeah. It's just like people who sell their homemade crafts and blah, blah, blah. It's people who are a witch and you pay them and they cast whatever spell you need. I am 100% buying a voodoo doll of Clint. No. No, we've got to use it for goods. And if you wonder, trust me, there will be a time in the future where you're like, oh, my crotch is way more itchy than normal.
Starting point is 00:15:30 You will know. Well, you're already a huge pain of my ass. So what difference is it going to make? It's going to be reality for you. I've got a losing streak with visiting Napier. Literally the last three times I went there, I got a flat tire. That would start to feel personal. It would.
Starting point is 00:15:48 I'd avoid Napier if I was that person. Yeah. Someone said in 2011 Australia beat American Samoa 31-0 with Archie Thompson scoring 13 goals. That's outrageous. So when Will Jordan scored the five tries against Tonga, it's like, okay, get him off now. Yeah, he can go over sit down.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Yeah, yeah, you've earned a rest. I've just looked up on Etsy. Yeah. So these are the ones that have come up, which for hire. Okay. So it's let me manifest for you. Love, career, luck now. Get a hired spell.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Get a hired spell. Get a hired spell. Oh, get hired spell. As in get a job. Job offer attraction ritual. Yeah. They're all very career-focused. They are, aren't they?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Yeah, where's... Custom spell. So you can ask... That's what we want. That's what we want. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Oh, she looks real witchy as well.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Yeah, I reckon we should get real superficial shit, too, like six-pack. Defined Biceps. Bigger choosies. Yeah. and they buy it for bugger all, and then it ends up being worth millions of dollars. This is exactly what has happened in this story. I always get stuck down the rabbit holes of people who go to garage sales trying to find these treasure items.
Starting point is 00:17:15 And they don't find it by accident, right? They're looking for it. Yeah, and this one guy, I watched this video where he went and he found like a super rare Michael Jordan basketball card. Yes. And it was in amongst hundreds and hundreds of other cards. You would have to look at so much worthless crap before you found the diamond in the rough. but this person did.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I'm going to bring up the picture of the painting for you. It is a painting. This person paid $53 at a garage sale for this painting. 53 bucks. And it is just sold for $2.4 million. What? $2.4 million. And they paid $63 for it.
Starting point is 00:17:52 The painting is by, this won't mean anything to anyone who doesn't know like us, but a celebrated American surrealist Gertrude Abercrombie. Okay. I haven't heard of her. It's been missing from public view for 75 years. It's been hanging in this person's hallway the whole time. That is ridiculous. The buyer found it at a garage sale at the house.
Starting point is 00:18:16 So they're clearing out the house. And apparently the person who bought it knew what it was. What? So they fleeced them. What? They're like, oh yeah, how much you want for that? And they're like, it was American dollars. I thought you were saying the person who owned the painting knew what it was and
Starting point is 00:18:31 Can you bring it up, Claudia, so we can see it, the painting? That's it there. Oh, yeah, it's a bit of a nothing painting. It's some shells. It's literally, it's a dark painting. Like, it's a very dark background and then some like, yeah, some seashells. But no painting that's secretly worth $2.4 million, you go, man, that's cool. It's always something weird.
Starting point is 00:18:51 It's always like a flower or a bowl of bananas. You would never look at that and go, that's worth some money. But this person did. Which brings up an ethical dilemma, right? because you have effectively stolen $2.4 million from that person. I feel like, because I mean, would you be able to sleep at night? This is it. And that's, and here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Like, I feel like, because if I was the one that could identify that this painting is worth a ton of money. Yeah. I feel like I am entitled to a certain amount. Yeah. Because or else that person is never going to know. Yeah. So could we come to some sort of a deal? What do you think it'd be fair?
Starting point is 00:19:33 So is it 50-50? Do I buy it for $50? This is what I'm asking. Do you think it's... And then I go and make $2.4 million and then do I come back and go, hey, by the way, that painting I bought off you, it was worth $2.4 million. Here's $1.2 million.
Starting point is 00:19:46 You could walk away feeling pretty guilt-free then, I think. But there's a risk. The other person goes, where's my other $1.2 million? You go, well, you sold it to me fair and square. I just keepers, losers, we should be happy I gave you anything. It's the same thing I feel when I feel when I feel when I feel. when I watch the thrift store Instagram accounts where the jersey hunters go in
Starting point is 00:20:04 and they find like a, I don't know, a Jonah Lamu worn counties Monaco jersey at St Vinay's in Taranaki and it's got a $3 tag on it and they know they can get $1,000 for this jersey. That's different though. Is it? Yeah, because whoever owned it
Starting point is 00:20:22 has gotten rid of it. Yep. And you're buying it from a shop. From a charity. Yeah. It's different if it's a save mart. You know, if it's a save mart. I still wouldn't feel as bad.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Yeah, I know. I'm not saying you should feel bad. It's just there's some kind of ethical conundrum there. An ethical dilemma. Yeah. But I wouldn't feel as bad. Whereas if it was someone's painting from their garage, I'm looking at them going,
Starting point is 00:20:47 I know how much this is worth. And if the person you bought it off is the grandson of the deceased person who had this painting. Feels a bit yuck, doesn't it? Yeah. But I mean, if you can slay off. sleep at night. And if you can wipe your tears with $100 notes,
Starting point is 00:21:03 then I mean you... Fill your boots. Good on you. Let's get the tea. This is the tea. This is a huge story today and it's a very serious story too. Kiwi, Hollywood superstar fellow Rotarua boy like
Starting point is 00:21:23 myself and one of the worst interview experiences of my life Cliff Curtis has been involved in a serious car crash where he was allegedly driving under the influence. His Tesla and a parked taxi crashed in Wyniard Quarter in Auckland's Waterfront. At what time does it say what time? I've seen the photos. It's night time. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:45 But I don't know specifically what time. The taxi driver was trapped inside the Prius. That's scary. So they were parked and then the crash happens. He was trapped inside the Prius. Rescue workers had to cut the taxi driver out of the car and provide life support until St John arrived. Cliff Curtis, who was driving the Tesla,
Starting point is 00:22:07 also went to hospital with internal injuries, which gives you an indication of how serious the accident was. I've seen the photos. They had to cut the whole roof off the taxi. And we know where this accident happened, and it's a very slow road. There's a lot of speed bumps. There's a tram.
Starting point is 00:22:26 that goes along this part of, if you've never been to Auckland, Wynyard quarter, it's down on the waterfront. It's kind of almost like a shared space where it's like pedestrians, and cars and trams, so forth. And no one, I've got no idea of how fast the cars were going.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Car was going, one of them was parked. But it had to have been something decent for them to be completely totaled like this. Cliff Curtis will appear in court this month on charges of reckless driving and driving with excess blood alcohol. Yeah, not good. Not good.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Really not good. And not good and never okay. No. Never okay. I mean, why wouldn't you just catch an Uber home? Why wouldn't you just catch a taxi? There was one there, obviously. Yeah, you ran into it.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Bad story, and that's still to unfold as well. That's the T. The ZM Podcast Network. Right now, I want to talk about this crazy story out of Missouri, USA, about a guy named Michael who was put up for adoption when he was a baby. Okay. So he always knew that he was adopted. He was adopted by a wonderful family, had a great childhood, great life.
Starting point is 00:23:37 But at a certain point, he wanted to see who his biological parents were. Of course. You know? And so he ended up submitting his DNA to the website 23 and Me, which is like Ancestry.com. Same thing. Just similar thing. They do the same. kind of vibe.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Anyway, he submitted his DNA and within 36 hours, he got an email notifying him that he had a half-brother. Within half an hour? Within 36 hours. Oh, than 36 hours. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Isn't that wild? Surprise. So 36, like, he goes onto his website, submits his DNA. 36 hours later, he meets his half-brother. I've never done it because I'm terrified of being framed for a crime. Why? What are you doing in your spare time? No, I'm not doing anything, but I'm terrified that the website is going to use my DNA to frame me for a crime and put it at a crime scene.
Starting point is 00:24:33 But I understand the way that it works is you get more information over time. They give you the information they've got. But then later, if someone submits some DNA, they go, oh, yeah, your brother's in our system. Well, it connects you. Yeah, exactly. We tried to frame them for a bank robbery. You should meet him. Connect you to other people who've obviously put their DNA into the website. Anyway, they end up talking and they end up talking about their biological parents.
Starting point is 00:25:00 One thing leads to another and he ends up getting the number for his biological father. Okay. And so he ends up calling his dad, who his dad's name is actually Michael McDonald. Okay. And this guy straight away was like, you know what Michael, McDonald from the Doobie brothers, are you? Oh my God. And that's when his biological dad, Michael McDonald, said,
Starting point is 00:25:31 yep, I'm afraid so. Biological father. That's crazy. Isn't that wild? What a great surprise dad to get. Well, I don't mean like great father. I mean, like, what a great result that your dad is rich and famous. So the background story is that Michael and his partner got, they got pregnant very,
Starting point is 00:25:57 very young. Yeah. And decided to give up the baby for adoption, which was, yeah, this guy, Michael. So you're not saying, because obviously the cliche with a rock star baby is that he got some woman pregnant. No. And no.
Starting point is 00:26:11 And then left town the next day. But he knew about this child. Yes. He knew that he existed and he knew that he adopted him out. Yes. Wow. Isn't that crazy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Yeah. Is he, what member of the Derby Brothers is he? Not that it matters. but is he the singer? Is he one of the brothers? Is he? I'm not too sure because I don't have a huge history on the Doobie Brothers, but I will say I looked up a picture of this guy
Starting point is 00:26:38 and a picture of his son that he adopted out, and God, they look the same. Michael McDonald is the Thinthetheather of the Doobie Brothers. He plays the Thinthaitha. This is very visual, but Clint, this is the guy from the Doobie brothers. Yeah. And then this is his. son. Of course it is. What the hell? They look exactly the same. They're dooby brothers.
Starting point is 00:27:02 They're literally, they could be brothers. They could be doby brothers. Yep. What a result. What a result. Pretty amazing. I mean, it's a, it's one of those stories. I feel like it's definitely a nicer story that you hear from these DNA websites, because normally they're quite dark. The whole world wants Prince Harry and Prince Charles to upload their DNA to King Charles, rather, to Ancestry.com. so we can find out if King Charles is the real father. Everybody also wants Chloe Kardashian and O.J. Simpson's DNA uploaded. Yeah. So we can find out if they, if she is secretly his daughter as well. Because that was always the rumor.
Starting point is 00:27:41 That's the rumor. Would you want to find out that your dad wasn't your dad? Nah. Nah. I think at this point, I don't want to find out. Yeah. And how awkward for mum to die as well? Yeah, it's awkward for everyone.
Starting point is 00:27:54 I've got enough stuff to talk about in therapy. You know, I don't need to add that whole thing to the list. It's fine. Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to think of some historic Queensland rugby league player that it could turn out to be your father. And your mum's like, you are never meant to know. Alfie Langer.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Petro Sivina Siva. Your dad's like, you know what? I'm not that disappointed. I'm not mad about it. Good on your diet. If someone had to sigh of my child, At least it was Kevin Campion. Oh, 800 dollars a DM.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Our question for you is scandalous. And it would have probably rocked your world when it happened. But we want to know, what did the DNA test reveal? Did you do one? Did you do one of these Ancestry.com style DNA tests? Or did you do like a full-blown paternity test type thing? Yeah. Did you upload your DNA to Ancestry.com and find out that you had multiple half-siblings?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Are you secretly Dave Dobbins' daughter? Whoa! Wouldn't that be good? The scandal. It's ZAM's Bree and Clint podcast. So we want to know what did the DNA test reveal for you. Lee's here. Hi, Lee.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Hi, Lee. Oh, hi. Wacky DNA Tuesday. Wacky DNA Tuesday. That's what we do here at ZNM, Lee. What were the results? What did you find out, Lee? Well, it's actually my dad.
Starting point is 00:29:16 He's in his 70s. Okay. And late last year, he decided for whatever reason. to pop his DNA up. Yeah. And within about 24 hours, he found out he had a half sister. Whoa. In the same town he is.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Whoa. Okay. So who he thought was his biological father wasn't. Oh, the dad wasn't the real dad. The plot thickens. I know it does. So it turns out that my grandmother was actually being courted by two guys. I was going to say, turns out grandma, a bit of.
Starting point is 00:29:51 Slavis love. Yeah, exactly. Dirty old grandma. It kind of sucks to find out so late in life because you can't even go and talk to your mum about it, can you? No, no, no, he can't. All the questions he would have.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Oh no, but it got even more interesting. Okay. Yeah, so he then found out that his great-grandfather, during the Second World War, was actually a black shirt. What's a black shirt? So a black shirt was basically a Nazi supporter. Oh!
Starting point is 00:30:29 Whoa! Sluzzy Mum and Nazi Granddad! That's crazy. That is a wild story. So has he met up with his half-sister? Did he ever meet it? Yeah, I believe he has. Oh, that's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:30:45 That's a great story, Lee. It does not make me want to upload my DNA. Me neither. You know? Clint's worried he's going to be related to David Seymour. Stop suggesting that I look like David Seymour, okay? There's a lot of similar mannerisms, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Savannah's here. Hi, Savannah. Hi, Savannah. What did the DNA test reveal, Savannah? So I did a DNA test with my dad, and it came back that he wasn't my dad. I'm a redhead. and the rest of the family aren't
Starting point is 00:31:23 and so it kind of came up that he might not be and then when I was 18 I did the DNA kiss and it came back he wasn't met with my mother who I'm estranged from She gave me a few names and then A few names What is it like a treasure hut for your dad or something That's crazy
Starting point is 00:31:42 Yeah and it turns out it was My auntie's partner slash ex-barner Who he has kids with Shut up So wait, so wait, so your mum had hooked up, like behind your auntie's back with her partner. Yes. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Savannah, whenever we do a topic like this, I expect to get stories about dodgy dads and people are like, my dad has got five secret kids. So far, it's all moms. Yes, yes. So now that I have first cousins who are also my half-sisters. God, that's so confusing. So I like to call them cuzzlings. Cuzzlings.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Wow. Are you glad to know or has it been kind of like earth shattering? Well, I did earn some awesome siblings from that. Yeah, that's kind of cool. My dad who I thought was my dad is always going to be my dad. That's good. I'm glad to hear that. Okay. Wow. Far out.
Starting point is 00:32:40 That's a lot to say again. Some good texts coming through. Someone said Ancestry.com. I found out that my co-worker, the graduate who was working beneath me, was my third cousin. Oh, yeah. I feel like everyone in New Zealand is third cousins. Like, I'm probably related to Claudia
Starting point is 00:32:57 if you go far enough back. Yeah, I'd say so. Eventually. Yeah, which means Claudia's related to David Seymour too. Which that makes sense. Which is awkward because of that one night. Exactly. You know?
Starting point is 00:33:10 No, don't say that David Seymour will quite literally sue you. Well, I could be talking about anything. Yeah, you could and that's the problem. Not scandalous, but I found out just, Cinder Ardern is my cousin. What? Which cousin though? Like first, second?
Starting point is 00:33:24 I just said cousin, so I'm taking from that first cousin. Because that's pretty close. Yeah. Everyone calls her auntie, but you can call her cousin. Yeah, literally. Ancestry.com has given me two aunties, my own age, and knowledge of a 20-year affair for my grandfather. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:42 That is quite damning for poor old grandfather. Someone said he took a DNA test, turned out he was 100% that bitch. Thanks, Lizzo. Before the technology existed, I needed to find my biological father. I only have my auntie's married name and surname and the phone book.
Starting point is 00:34:03 I find the surname and called all of them to find my auntie. And through that, I found my biological dad. Wow, so it actually worked. I wonder how many people you had to call from the phone book. Yeah. To actually find. How many people of that name was there? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Yeah, yeah. Everyone says my dad looks like Chris Luxon. That's why I do not want to do a DNA test. Don't be like that. Your dad could also be Lee Hart. True. You know? Your dad could be Lee Hart.
Starting point is 00:34:35 I wonder if Christopher Luxon and Lee Hart are related. Yeah. Or your dad could be John O'Pryor. You know? It could be any one of these people. There are multiple, bald white guys that are out there that could be your father. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:48 So keep your head up. Your bald head, I'm assuming. Yeah. Sorry, that was mean. It's ZM's Breinclin podcast. Brinklin's Classical. The game where we guess pop songs reimagined in classical style,
Starting point is 00:35:08 usually on a piano, but not always. No words to go by, yeah. Sometimes recorder. Sometimes that Japanese violin thing. A wazoo. No. Awazu? Are thinking of a kizu?
Starting point is 00:35:23 I don't know. I took a stab. To be honest, I'm no classical expert either. Claudia is, and that's why she's made the songs. Hi, Claudia. Hello, and I will say up front, I think I've made it quite hard today. Ooh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:34 I know sometimes you've struggled. I think I've made it quite hard. But it'll be fun. That's fun. All right, we're up for a challenge. So just buzz in with your name. Tell me the artist and the name of the song, and the first person with two correct guesses will take home the win.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Are we ready? Ready. Ready? First and first your first difficult. song. Clint. Olivia Rodriguez. Stupid song.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Correct. I wasn't 100% of the name of the song. I knew it was one of the two new ones. Yeah, I heard the doubt in your voice. Clint never doubt yourself again, okay? Okay, sorry. One point for Clint. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Very unsure, yeah. I know who it is, but I don't want to say it. Do you want to give it a go? You're going to buzz you out either way. Yeah, buzz me out. Flint, free guess. Oh, it's run to my tongue. Now, we have to both go back in.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Okay, we're back in. Bree. Yes, Bree. It's Sam Smith. Oh. Yes. I was going to say, today? Tonight?
Starting point is 00:37:14 I knew I was toss. I was like, is it promises, is it tonight? Calvin Harris. Hey, Bree. Never. But doubt yourself again. Thanks, Paul. Appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:37:22 This one's for the win, guys. Oh, tie break. Go in with full confidence. Here's your last song. Another unsure guest. Yes, Bree. Is that Beyonce crazy in love? It is.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Wow. Let's go. Woo-hoo! Wow. Well, well done. Thank you. You earned that. I feel like I was due.
Starting point is 00:38:07 I haven't won for a while, which means earner. You backed me so you get the KFC Yay, awesome, thank you You're welcome, mate Hey, Bree Yeah, never doubt yourself again Hey, Claude, yeah If you believe
Starting point is 00:38:21 You too can achieve Um, love laugh, love I love Yeah, nice Oh yeah, good Play ZDM's Bree and Clint We're trying to buy more
Starting point is 00:38:35 Spice Girls merch If you want to be my lover We've got the impulse, while Bree has the impulse. Yesterday we found out there's a real spice girl's outfit coming up for sale here in New Zealand. Not just any spice girl.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Sporty spice. Sporty spice, the most brie of all the spices. It's going to be sold through a Red Cross secondhand store here in New Zealand and we need it. We need a formulae a plan to get it and we need to know how much money we need to get to be able to get it. So from Red Cross New Zealand, Sophie Jones joins us on the phone. Hi Sophie.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Hi Sophie. Hi, Sophie. Hi, Sophie. Hi, Sophie. Hello. Hello, before we go any further, did that intro impress upon you how important this is to us and how seriously we are taking the acquisition of Malsy Sporty Spice's outfit? 100%.
Starting point is 00:39:21 And I don't think you're alone in that, guys. Oh, that's not what we want to hear, Sophie. Okay. So you've had a lot of interest, have you? Oh, yeah. I mean, ever since it went live with Melanie C, there's been a lot of hype, a lot of interest, a lot of excitement. I thought I was the only one. But hang on so, there's two outfits.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Two outfits. We want the track suit one. We don't want the Vajazzled DJ one. We want the track suit one. So is that the one that's getting all the interest? Look, I think anything Melanie C-related is getting a lot of hype. But hey, you have just a good a chance as anyone else. Yeah, and by good a chance is we need a lot of money, right?
Starting point is 00:40:01 Well, that is yet to be determined. We're still working that process out at the moment with our pricing. Can we work something out personally? We do a deal. And can I just say that we've gone to our boss? We've asked for a ZDM allocation of funds. Because, I mean, this is good cross promotion for the Red Cross. Yep.
Starting point is 00:40:20 For ZM. Everyone wins. And Bree gets a Spice Girls outfit. Our boss has given us $250. How do you think that's going to go? Oh, look, like I said, it's to be determined. I don't have a price for you right now, team. I'm really sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Don't humor us, Sophie. We're still ironing that out. But look, we're super excited. And, you know, the proceeds that will come from these items are going to do such amazing work for the Red Cross. So we're super pumped. I feel like I'm talking to a real estate agent at an open home and they don't want to tell me how much the owners want.
Starting point is 00:40:54 You could be. You could be in the ballpark. You'll have to come along to the auction. How do we buy it, Sophie? How do we buy Malsy, Sporty Spice's Track Soap from the Red Cross? Right. So what I can tell you is that the items will be on display in our Albany Red Cross shop in Auckland. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:13 They'll be on display after the drive. So I think we're kind of looking around mid-November at this stage. Okay, we've got time. Yep. You have time. You have time. But what we would love is we want everyone to have the opportunity to view and to potentially touch something of Melanie sees.
Starting point is 00:41:31 Like, we want everyone. We want to share that love with everyone. Yeah. So that's where they'll be. They will be in Auckland. Both items will be in the Albany shop. So you will have further details on that later on. It sounds like a lot of open homes that you're doing, Sophie, for my Melanie C outfit.
Starting point is 00:41:46 It sounds like you're going to show a lot of other people who might buy it off us. Hey, look, we want everyone to have the opportunity to own something of Melanie C's. There's another important question that I think Bree's too shy to ask. It is Melanie C worn this outfit? Is it Melanie C washed? Well, what we really love our donors to do is to provide their donations washed, right? That's disappointing.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Except in this case, right? Because I would rather an unwashed Melanie C outfit so big. Right, well, I actually, you know what, I'll have to come back to you on that one. Just say you can't confirm or deny and keep in the dream alive. Yeah, okay, cool. All right, so no bidding war, no nothing until mid-November, is that right? That's right. That's right. And what we want to do is we want to create, you know, fair, pick and hand value.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Obviously, this is not our normal donation. So, I mean, how do you price something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're trying to get as much money for a good cause as possible. We get it. We're going to have to put our heads together and we're going to have to come up with something that is accessible, you know, for every New Zealander, not only yourselves. Stuff that I want it. No, we'll play the game.
Starting point is 00:43:03 We'll play the game. It just gives us more money, more time to fundraise, Sophie. Absolutely. Thank you for the heads up. Absolutely. And, you know, we're super pumped for this clothing drive. We look forward to it every year. But I think this year in particular, having a spice girl as our ambassador is pretty epic.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Huge deal. Yeah, we're really looking forward to it. And the clothing drive does so much for our stores. It really helps to fund our humanitarian work. So it's just fantastic. There you go. That's Sophie Jones from the Red Cross New Zealand. And she's the person that we have to butter up
Starting point is 00:43:34 to get the Spice Girls outfit if we want to. If you want to be my lover. I'm willing to do as much buttering as humanly possible. ZDM's Bree and Clint Podcast. I feel like there's certain situations where you're not your best self, you know? And when you're in a relationship, when you put into these certain situations, it can really be testing. Oh, you've got my attention.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Is that hangary? Well, yeah, that could be a situation. That brings the worst out of my wife and I. 100% it does. And if like say we're travelling and we both get hangary, World War III. Yeah, it's game over. Game over.
Starting point is 00:44:18 What about moving house? Oh. I feel like I might be the worst version of myself. I don't want to be dramatic, but I had a mini mental breakdown last time I moved house. It is honestly the worst thing in the world. I hate it. so much. It's up there, yeah. I always, no, I hate it. Like, I hate it so much. And this is why I
Starting point is 00:44:38 always say on this show, if you have real friends, like true best friends, like true friends that have your back, they will never, ever ask you to move house with them. They will not ask you for your help. No, they won't. Because they know how awful it is. A whole world moving in storage. There's new research that has revealed moving day is, is, actually a relationship mind filled. Oh, it is moving day. Yes. Oh, right.
Starting point is 00:45:07 So moving house. They have done research into this where people have said it's caused breakups. It's caused real lasting strain on their relationship. Yeah. And it's meant to be happy. It's meant to be progress in your relationship. It's meant to be like, onto the next thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Unless you're not moving forward, what if you're moving backwards? What if like you lost the dream house? And you have to move into a worse house. Oh, imagine how much more stressful that would be. Be awful downsizing, I feel like would be incredibly stressful. Yeah. You know, because you have to throw so much away. Who did, because you've moved house in the last two years?
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yes. Who did the bulk of the packing, moving, sorting, unpacking? You know what happened? What? Is, I don't know if you remember this, but the day we were moving and we had to move on this particular day, I was struck down with horrible COVID. Oh, horrible.
Starting point is 00:46:11 And you pick the worst days to get COVID? So bad. Like, I was so physically ill. Yeah. I was dead weight. I couldn't barely, like, I couldn't really walk that much. Like, I was so exhausted. And it's not your fault, but at the same time your partner's stressed and it is your fault.
Starting point is 00:46:27 I felt like absolute crap. Yeah. And, oh, she let me know about it. That's why we need those humanoid robots that Elon Musk is developing. So when you're sick, that's when you bust out the humanoid. And you go, Robo Bree is here. Yeah, Robo Bree is stepping in. Yeah, and Robo Bree is going to cook dinner.
Starting point is 00:46:44 And Robo Bree is going to give you a massage after this, too. Actually, you should just be with Robo Bree. She's way better. Leave me for Robo Bree. Robo Bree's boobs are perky here too. Bit hard. A little bit hard. Bit hard.
Starting point is 00:46:58 And cold, very cold. But, you know. Yeah. They look grey in a sunchrist. No areiolas, which is weird. Like a Barbie doll. It's just smooth. Just two humps in a mound.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Yep. It's weird. I thought we could ask, has this caused a breakup for you in your life? Has moving caused a breakup? Yes. Wow. Like, has it, was there something that happened during the move?
Starting point is 00:47:25 Yeah. Where it just, you couldn't come back from it. You know, it might not even be the stress. It could be something that you found in moving. Because when you move house, you find boxes that you completely forgot about. You find things in backs of drawers that you did not know existed. Secret notes. It could be.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Or secret items. Secret items. You're like, what is this? Absolutely. Secret phones. Exactly. Secret parcels of money. Yeah, that could happen.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Or it was just the stress of the whole thing. And it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Maybe it got to the point where you were like, oh, we're going to move in together. and you did and it was stressful and then you're like actually wish it to wear my other house This is awful Anna's here
Starting point is 00:48:09 Hi Anna Hi Anna Hi Anna Did moving cause a breakup in your relationship It probably set it off Yeah it was the catalyst was it Yeah it was My ex made the unilateral decision
Starting point is 00:48:22 To move us I don't know It had to probably be 100 metres down the road Why He thought that the place would be cheaper So the rent was cheaper but once he'd actually taken the bills and everything into account, it wasn't.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Oh, no. When you say unilaterally, did he not ask you? He sort of floated it, and I was like, no, I really like our place. Yeah. And he just went ahead and was like, oh, well, this is in my name, let's move. Wow. Okay, well, that's the first red flag. Did you make it to the new house?
Starting point is 00:48:56 We did. He did most of the move by himself. because I went out the night before and had a bit too much on with the girls. And do you reckon that was consciously or subconsciously on purpose that you did that? I'm going to say subconsciously. Yeah, because you weren't invested in the move. You didn't want to move, so you're like you can do it on your own. Pretty much.
Starting point is 00:49:20 And then, so what happened in the end? Are you still together? Oh, absolutely not. No. And is he still in the house that he wanted to move to so badly? No, I think we've all moved on from that one. Yeah. Oh, turns out it wasn't the best idea.
Starting point is 00:49:35 We went off moving, broke you guys up. Someone said, I once moved from Queensland in Australia down to Melbourne in Australia, and I moved with two friends who were a lovely lesbian couple. But because of the move and the stress, they broke up. Never get between two lesbians fighting. They asked me to pick a side,
Starting point is 00:49:55 which ended one of our relationships. I'm still friends with the better one. Wait. I love that they call one of them the better lesbian. This is the better lesbian. I went for the premium lesbian. Yeah, I went for the crem de la creme lesbian. Someone else said, I was 15 and helping shift my parents' friends.
Starting point is 00:50:17 I mean, why were you helping shift? Why were you asked to do that? That's already a red flag. I was 15 and helping shift my parents' friends. Get this, it gets better. I didn't know them overly well, and it became quite. awkward when I was helping lift the couch and her underwear came out the back of the couch. I mean, that's easily explainable.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Is it? No. To a 15-year-old? It's not. No. You're like, oh, that's just where we keep the undies in our family. Yeah, it must have been when I was folding the washing. Did a move?
Starting point is 00:50:48 Why are they dirty? Why are they dirty? Did a move break up your relationship? When my ex and I first moved in together, I helped him pack his stuff up. I then noticed he was just putting his stuff in miscellaneous boxes. Literally bed sheets in a box with pots and pans. No. Box in with clothes.
Starting point is 00:51:07 What the hell? I knew immediately I was making a huge mistake, but it was too late to back out. We did not last long. Wow. He's a chaos agent. What kind of animal puts sheets with pots and pans? I feel like nobody moves house more than producer Claudia. She does move a lot.
Starting point is 00:51:25 How do you relate to that message? Oh, I hate that. I don't like that at all. You don't? No, I'm very tidy with my packing. Gradual things go together. Books are in one box. The hard things go together.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Yeah, soft things all into one box. The naughty things. Yeah, secret drawers. Keep them in the side drawer, move the whole side draw intact. Tape it close in case that drawer falls open. Yeah, good, good to know who we're working with. I'm not an animal. Yeah, gee, she has standards.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Someone else texted and they said, I don't know about moving house, but that's because we've never moved house because I'm so terrified to do so after every single. single time we pack the caravan to go away camping. Me and my husband come very close to divorce. And we spend the first half of our holiday basically just staring daggers at each other. Which makes you go, is it worth the holiday? Because the holiday's meant to be relaxing.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Yeah, if you spend half of it just being angry at each other. I love the idea of getting a caravan and having a caravan holiday with the family. And my wife cannot think of anything worse. So then you can never get a caravan. No, you know what she said to me She goes, you can get a caravan But I'm not coming That's my wife
Starting point is 00:52:33 You can go on a nice caravan You and the kids can go on a caravan holiday On your own I'll be in a hotel Let me know what city we're going to And then the kids will like We want to go to the hotel I'd be like no
Starting point is 00:52:44 I spent 15 grand on this shitty caravan You're like bye dad You sleep in the caravan See you dad No heating in the caravan Dad lives in the caravan now Thanks guys Z-D-N-Klent

Starting point is 00:54:01 Hello. What have you been doing today, Michelle? Don't lie to me. Don't lie to us, Michelle. Don't lie. Tell the truth. Working, working, working. And what do you do for work?
Starting point is 00:54:11 Office admin. Oh, sounds boring. Yeah, I know. Yeah. Hit people up for money. Hey, you're the backbone of whatever that company is though, Michelle. You sure are. They would fall apart.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Hey, what is your birthday, Michelle? I'm 8th of March, 971. Right, that means you were 16, Michelle, in 1987, and here's your birthday bang. That's not boring. I feel like it suits you, Michelle. A good one. You like it? You like it?

Starting point is 00:55:33 And Chris, this is your birthday, bang. She's so hot right now. Just performed at the AFL grand final. What do you think, Chris? Oh! I love the bit of Kylie Minogue. Bless for me. What about the goal?
Starting point is 00:55:54 old shorts. I've never heard a man of my generation say meh to Kylie Monoke. It's quite shocking. But he's been honest with us, Chris. We'll take it. We need to decide between Taylor pseudo-ico and Kylie Minow. What a line-up today. Hey?
Starting point is 00:56:13 Kylie. Kylie. Kylie all day. Kylie. Yep. Chris. Yeah. Suck it.
Starting point is 00:56:19 You won birthday, Dave. Happy birthday, Chris. From 1985, Here's Kylie Minogue and can't get you out of my head Oh, 2001, Jesus Christ So that's Brian Clint
Starting point is 00:56:35 Podcast Kylie Minogue Can't get you out of my head It's a winner of birthday banger today for Chris It was number one on his 16th birthday in October 2001 So that's song's 25 years old next week
Starting point is 00:56:50 I saw an interesting tech talk about this song where they were discussing how, I believe that song was written in like an hour. Oh yeah, okay. And the la la la la came from that. They didn't want to put any more words in it. Buzzy.
Starting point is 00:57:07 And so they just decided to go with that. Sometimes they la la la in songs because they don't have the words yet. And then it just sounds good. They just fill it with a melody. And then they go, actually, that sounds really good. The la la la la's word. We like the la la la's. Yeah. It's the most iconic part of that song, I would argue.
Starting point is 00:57:21 The ZDM Podcast Network. It's a Tuesday. if you're new to this show, you might not realize that on Tuesdays, Bree and I go looking for a name in a haystack. The hardest game on radio. It's never been won. That is how hard it is to win this game. It's where we choose a name at random, a business at random.
Starting point is 00:57:42 We give that business a call. If the person with that name answers, today they'll win how much. $4,200. Goes up by $50 every week, which shows you how long we've been playing this. A long bloody time. It's become, it's long past it. It's already a crazy amount of money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Particularly because the person who picks up the phone, if they have the right name, the name that we're looking for, they had no idea that we're calling. It's not like a lotto where you buy a lotto ticket and hope to win. They don't even know they're playing the game. This is like accidentally finding $4,000. Literally. The way we keep it honest is we separate the decision process.
Starting point is 00:58:20 One of our producers selects the name and the other one selects the business. So it's completely at random because they cannot talk to each other. Claudia's an old pro. What are you giving us today, Claudia? I'll do the business. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Where are we calling? We are calling Miramar and Wellington Whitter Workshop. Yeah. Okay, like the... Like the tours, the tours where they'll show you around the workshop. The gift shop. Yeah, basically. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Okay, okay, cool. Grace, our new producer. Hi, guys. You're picking the name today. That's a lot of pressure. Imagine if she picks the correct name. On the first go. On the first go.
Starting point is 00:58:52 The first go. She will say it's the easiest game in radio then. Yes, she would. Grace, what name are we looking for? The name I am vibing. Is Lila. Lila. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:07 Okay. No comment. I feel like they're going to have to be pretty young. But it's doable. Yeah. It is doable. Claudia, please connect us to Weta Workshop and Wellington. We're today...
Starting point is 00:59:19 And welcome to Weta Workshop. Lila answers the phone. She'll win. $4,200. That's a project, press 1. To book one of our tours or a private event, press 2. Okay. Otherwise, please hold to speak to reception.
Starting point is 00:59:32 Okay, we'll just hold. We'll just hold. We're to workshop. How can I help? Hi there. It's Brian Clint calling from ZDM Radio Station. What was your name? My name's Alice.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Hi, Alice. Hi, Alice. How are you? Hi, good thanks. Good. Disappointed, but not your fault. Nothing to do with you, Alice. We play this game on our show where we call random
Starting point is 00:59:57 numbers with a name that we already have in mind. And today, if your name was Leila when you'd answered the phone, you would have won $4,200. Oh, that's a real shame. Isn't that? If I lie and say it is, will I still get the money? Okay, ready? Let's do it again.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Ready, you answer the phone now. Don't feel bad. Well, I mean, feel bad because you missed it on $4,000. But don't feel bad. We've never given it away, Alice. It's never been won. We've never successfully given away the money in this game. All right.
Starting point is 01:00:27 We've never found a name in a haystack. Never ever. Yeah. All right, you guys busy for the school holidays? You would be, wouldn't you? Always. Always. Always.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Yeah. All right. Appreciate your time, Alice. No worries. See you later. Bye-bye. You guys weren't a part of this, but off air, Bree was like, it's happening today. I thought it was.
Starting point is 01:00:45 I had a good feeling to over. I had this weird vibe where I was like I feel like it's going to happen. Do you think Grace was our lucky charm? Yeah, baby. Sorry, guys. The curse continues. You'll get used to this, Grace. Just disappointment.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Yeah. It's ZDM's Brie and Clint podcast. Look, Clint, my life motto is get things out in the open, talk about it so they don't fester and you don't resent anyone. It's an honesty policy. It is. It's the best way forward, in my opinion. And yesterday we were here. It was a Monday.
Starting point is 01:01:16 We're talking about our weekends. What was everyone up to? I was like, oh, you know, I did this and that. And then I was like, Clint, what did you get up to? And you were like, oh, I did this. And then I went to Maddie Maclean's 40th birth. And I went, what? You went to our mutual friend, Maddie MacLean's 40th birthday.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Really? Because I feel like I should have been invited to that birthday party. You know what I expected to see you there? I did. I expected to see you and Sophia, your partner there. Didn't even know about it. Hadn't heard about it. And then I asked you, oh, where was it?
Starting point is 01:01:51 It was literally around the corner from my house. And so here's the deal. two things could have happened here. One, it could be completely my fault, and I could have totally missed the invitation. Which, no offence, you have a habit of doing. Which could happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:08 And I put my hand up and say that could definitely be plausible. Number two is that Maddie McLean, my friend, who I've filmed multiple TV shows with, who I went to his wedding, forgot to invite me to his 40th birthday. There's a third option that you haven't considered. What's the third option? He didn't want you there. That's another option.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Okay. I feel like him not inviting me is a pretty good indicator of that. In the spirit of getting things out in the open, please welcome to the show, our friend, Maddie MacLean. Maddie McClain. Happy birthday. Hey, Maddie, happy birthday. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say,
Starting point is 01:02:43 happy birthday at your birthday party, but I wasn't there. There's so many funny elements to this. I would love to hear them. Yeah, because Bree's been laughing for ages. I actually don't know who's in the wrong, so I'm so. Hang on.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Hang on. I'm at a bar because I've taken myself out for a margarita. I'm literally by myself. Okay. Could have invited me. I'm just, okay. Here's the thing. Ryan, my husband came to me a while ago and said,
Starting point is 01:03:12 are we doing anything for your 40s? And I said, yes, low-key, though. I don't want anything major. And he said, do you need me to organize it? And I said, no, I can organize this by myself. and he said to me at the time, are you sure you want to take on this responsibility? Knowing full well that I did literally none of the planning of our wedding.
Starting point is 01:03:34 And he said to me, are you sure you can handle it? And I said, I'm about to turn 40. This will be a great test of whether or not I can handle this responsibility of organizing something. Well, you effing failed, Maddie McLean. And I tell you, I failed on so many elements, because Brie, You were one of about 20 people that I forgot to. Who else did you forget to invite? What other important people did you forget to invite to your birthday party?
Starting point is 01:04:02 My best friend since I was 13, I forgot to send her an invite to my 40. That's wild. And then I was sitting there going, there are people missing here? And I thought, forgotten to invite Brie, forgotten to invite a couple of other people from work. I forgot to invite. I did remember the week old to send the invite to my best friend of nearly 30 years. Oh, so she did eventually get an invite? The week old.
Starting point is 01:04:35 And then there were about 20 other people that just never arrived because I forgot to invite them. I feel good. I know why you feel good. Because it's not my fault. And I know why. She also feels good because she's trying to whittle down the list of people that are invited to her wedding, Maddie. And you're on the chopping list now. This really puts you at risk of not being invited to the big day, Maddie.
Starting point is 01:04:56 You are in the grey zone. Yes, but you were at my wedding. Yeah, but that was years ago, Maddie. And that was because Ryan was in charge of seeing the out of the end. That's what I was about to say. It's because Ryan invited me in Zafire. All right, so can we say that it's not Breeze fault? No my fault.
Starting point is 01:05:15 It's not Breeze's fault. And can I say it's, it is my fault, but this is why I just, I can't believe. in charge of organising things. This is what we've realised. It's so hard, being so popular and not remembering who all your friends are, Maddie. I get it. We don't want excuses. We want accountability, Maddie.
Starting point is 01:05:34 That's all we want. And a make-good 40th birthday that Brie is invited to. And just me. Brie, I love you so much. And rest assured, if I was more organised and not such a flake, you would have absolutely have been invited to my birthday. Well, I'll see Ryan at the wedding. you still in the grey area.
Starting point is 01:05:54 There's television's nice guy, or so we thought, Maddie MacLean. Play ZM's Brian Clint on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and live weekdays from three on ZM.
