Starting point is 00:00:00 ZM's Brea and Clint podcast It's our radio show But wrapped up in a neat little package Just for you It's ZM's Brie and Clint Podcast ZM's Brie and Clint
Starting point is 00:00:10 Thanks to KFC Woo I know you need me I change your life If you just live I need to love Afternoon everybody Welcome to the Brie and Clint show
Starting point is 00:00:23 Here we are guys for a nut Oh you're back That's right You were away yesterday No it wasn't Yeah you were. Don't do that to me. Yesterday.
Starting point is 00:00:33 You were away yesterday. No, I was away last week for school holidays. No, and then you were away sick yesterday. And now you're back. Me? Don't do that to me. I am a tired mother. Okay?
Starting point is 00:00:45 A tired mother, what? I nearly, don't do it because I nearly accidentally swore. All right, if it makes you feel better, I'll pretend I was away yesterday. Don't gaslight me today. I'm not in the mood. Hey, there's a whole video coming out today of you gaslighting me. I wasn't. I was telling the truth the whole time technically.
Starting point is 00:01:04 You were not. Yes, I was. Wasn't I producers? This is how abusive relationships start. Who was telling, was I? Was Clint right? Or am I telling the truth the whole time? The words she used were not alive.
Starting point is 00:01:14 She was correct. I will not be gas-lilat, on a technicality. I wish I was away today. Hey, dealer reveal is back. I heard the $5,000 case is gone. Boo! Boo! Boo, Hesse.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Boo! Do we blame Bank of Claudia for not giving it away on our show? Kind of. A little bit, eh? Yeah. I thought you were on our side. I'm on nobody's side. I'm on my own side.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I thought you were on our side. Bank of Claudias also put the interest rates up. Not to mention it. It's a real duality, isn't it? Because I feel like Claudia is on our side, but Banka Claudia, not on our side. Yeah, that Claudia girl's really nice. So it's a Beyonce Sasha Fier's situation. And people ask, how can there be too.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Claudia is, well, she's a Gemino. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I actually am. Anyway, three cases left. Claudia said there is still one in the thousands up there, so that's good. Yeah. And Bree's going to have a look before the game and find out which what it is. So ask me on the text machine before you call in for deal or reveal, and I will tell you which case to pick.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Hooray! Because unlike Bank of Claudia, Bree's on your side. First, Trady versus Lady, who wants it? What are our scores? Trades are on 89, ladies are on 77, it's a 12 point ballgame. Ladies need a win bad. Play Z-Ems, Bree and Clent. Harry Stiles on ZM.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Mate. Don't try and hide that you've got a mouth full of chocolate. I tried to eat a piece of the Whitaker's berry biscuit. There was 29 seconds after the clock, and I was like, one piece can't hurt. Ready, this is how you sound, ready? Harry Stile on ZM. I thought I could do it. I thought I could do it.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Hey, I like that you have the faith. A lot of chewy bits. You know? Chewy bits in the berry biscuit. It's Trady versus ladies. All right, the Trades and the ladies. Current score, that's actually wrong. I've done some digging.
Starting point is 00:03:21 It's actually 90 to the Trades. 77 to the ladies, according to my other notes. Right, 13 point game then. Let's meet our lady from Wong and, She's 30 and she has four kids. Welcome to the show, Ashley. Hi, Ash. Hello.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Give those kids a shout out. Who have we got? I've got Caleb, Charlie, Eden and KJ. Hey guys. Hi kids. Mom's trying to get a win for the school holidays, okay? Yeah, how good. Yeah, you can spend it at the arcade.
Starting point is 00:03:52 You take on our tragedy from the Waikato, they're 21 and they are an electrician. Welcome to the show, Bailey. Hi, Bailey. Hello, how are you? Good, Bay. Bailey. How long have you been doing the electrician thing? Roughly about five years now. Oh, good on you.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Bailey, your buzzer is Trady. Ashley, your buzzer's lady. The first of three correct answers gets $50 cash. Thanks to KFC. Good luck. Here we go, guys. Question number one. Who are the All Blacks taking on at Eden Park this Saturday?
Starting point is 00:04:23 If you don't know, feel free to have a guess. We'll buzz you out. They're taking on the wallabies in the bled. as low. We move on to question two. Name a band or artist that rose to fame from a reality TV show. I think America's got talent.
Starting point is 00:04:47 X Factor. Yes, Ashley. One Direction. One Direction was on X Factor UK. Other answers we would have accepted, Stan Walker, Guy Sebastian, Susan Boyle, Little Mix, Callum Scott, etc. Bardo.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Bardo? Would be number one on my list. Rose to fame on Aussie pop stars. Yeah. We move to question three.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Buzz in when you can tell me who sings this. They're named after an animal. Don't you know. Doja no. That's Doja Cat we were looking for. No points there.
Starting point is 00:05:31 We move on to question four. That's okay. The famous painter Bob who was known for his afro style hairdo and calming voice is who. Bob who? Oh.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Who? Bob who. Yes, Bailey. Is it Bob Marley? No. Worth a shot. More dreadlocks than Afro. Ashley?
Starting point is 00:05:58 Currently being shown on Samsung TV around the country. No, move on. Bob Ross is who we were looking for. Question number five. Which actor said the famous line in a movie, I'll be back. Lady.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yes, Ashley. Is it the two? Yeah, who played the Terminator? Oh, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yep, we will take it. Arnie is right. Two to the ladies, you need this one, Bailey, to stay in at. Question number six, which artists toured a record-breaking the Eras Tour?
Starting point is 00:06:37 Oh, guys, you don't know who did the Eras Tour? That's blown my mind. This game is a bus. It's Taylor Swift. We move on to question seven. Which search engine is most commonly used around the world? Ladies. Yes, Ashley, for the win.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Google? It's Google. She's a lead. Ash and the kids, well done. Your tradie versus lady champions. We have $50 cash coming your way. Yay, thank you very much. Good on you guys.
Starting point is 00:07:15 All good. We know you won't be spending it on any Taylor Swift music. Nope. Definitely not. And no doge care either. No, definitely not. Thanks, guys, and thanks Bailey as well. Thanks, guys. Thanks for playing.
Starting point is 00:07:27 ZD.M's Brey and Clint Podcast. Third to last deal and reveal at 4 o'clock. Bree is texting people helpful hints on 9-6-9-6 if you text us. Not hints. I'm telling people which case to pick. I've looked at them. I'm trying to help you. I'm trying to help you here.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I mean, yes. Just slight. Not hints. I look, I know which case. They still have to get through. But yes, if you would like to know which case to pick, I'll tell you. 9-6-9-6. Thank you, Claudia's fuming.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Look, she's rolling her sleeves up. I'm going to shuffle them around. Mate, hints. Yeah, be subtle with it, Bree. Sorry, I'm giving clues, subtle clues. Yeah. I'm going to text you and you're going to reply to man. I'm going to see what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Suttal as a sledgehammer. Hey, pre-warning, this next story, a little bit grim. But it has worked out for the best. kind of. There's a woman who is suing a New York hospital. There's a hospital she actually works at, which is another added element. Her name's Yana, and about seven years ago,
Starting point is 00:08:34 she had a couple of surgeries. One was plastic surgery related. Okay. And the other one was medical. Okay. But anyway, she had suffered all these problems after one of the surgeries. They don't know which one.
Starting point is 00:08:54 And it took seven years to figure out what was actually going on with her. She finally had an MRI where they located a rather large needle that had been left inside of her. They left a needle in her. They left a surgical needle. How big is the needle?
Starting point is 00:09:14 It's probably like three inches. Jeez. It's pretty big. Okay. Anyway, she's now... Ouch. This is all alleged because it hasn't gone through the courts yet.
Starting point is 00:09:25 But she is now taking them to court. I remember when my nan had to have like a wire coil put inside her stomach. Uh-huh. And the joke was, oh, won't be able to go on an airplane now. You'll set the metal detector off every time. This poor woman every time she's going through,
Starting point is 00:09:40 she's like, I've taken my shoes off, I've taken my earrings off, and I'm still beeping. I'm like, sorry, ma'am. I'm sorry. It says there's a metal object inside you. You're obviously lying to us. She's like, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:09:51 You are obviously carrying a bomb. I'm naked. Yeah. There is no bomb. Anyway, she had surgery. They removed the needle and all her problems and it went away. Thank goodness. You'd be so angry though, wouldn't you?
Starting point is 00:10:03 For seven years. No, no, you'd be furious. You'd battled all these different health issues. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because also you'd be like, hey, I'm really sore. And they'd be like, oh. Oh, are you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:14 You'll be right. No, I'm really sore. You guys left a needle in me. I thought we could ask. ask, what was in you? And it doesn't have to be from a surgery. It can be from when you're a kid. Maybe you stuck something up your nose and forgot about it.
Starting point is 00:10:30 And later on, it came out for some reason. I talked to a parent the other week whose child had two bits of corn up their nose for three months. I bet it went rotten. Yes. And they're like, my kid stinks. It took them so long to figure it out. The kid was having all of these issues. I bet.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Crazy issues. Meanwhile, he's got rotten corn up his nose. They're like, I don't remember him eating corn. Not funny, though, is it? It's serious. It's serious. And that's why we want to know the very not funny topic of what was in you. Maybe you fell on a stick. Maybe it was a rock. You know you hear those stories.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Maybe you were making a Marmite sandwich in the shower and you slept. And you slept and fell on it. Maybe it was a thorn from a rose bush. that you just couldn't get out. No, I don't want to hear that one. That's boring. Why? A thorn from a rose bush.
Starting point is 00:11:23 What if it was in them? What if they could see it just under their skin and was in them for like a decade? Oh, mildly more interesting. Okay. Only because of the decade. Okay, there's your limits. There's your parameters.
Starting point is 00:11:36 There's Franklin. Less than 30 minutes until your activator for deal or reveal plays. Three cases left. The evil banker Claudia is trying to derail my hints on the text machine. She would, wouldn't she? She would, but don't worry. Even if she replies, I will reply to you and tell you which, I mean, give you a hint. Helpful hint, pre.
Starting point is 00:11:57 A helpful plausible deniability. In which case you should get. I've got a radio seg. Yeah. That was Britney Spears piece of me. Now we want to know what piece of what was in you. Ah, close. That was worth it.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Worth going all the way back. What was in? Peace in me. Peace in me. Should have given up the first time Some wild messages coming through on this There is some wild messages A woman over in New York is suing a hospital
Starting point is 00:12:27 After a surgical needle was left in her seven years ago I love this text We had to get this person on Jordan's here Hi Jordan Hi Jordan Hey how's it going Good thank you Good Jordan what was in your dad
Starting point is 00:12:39 He had been to an acupuncture appointment And drove home and kept one of why he was like super sweaty and just spasming and he really struggled to drive home. And yeah, got back and lifted his shirt up and there was still a needle stuck in the back. Oh my God. He was spasming while driving because he still had an acupuncture needle at him. Yeah. Do you just whip that out?
Starting point is 00:13:05 Do you just pull it out yourself? You just pull it out. Do you? Yeah. No, you do. Yeah. Do either of you actually know that or you just say? I've had acupuncture quite a few times.
Starting point is 00:13:12 You can just pull it out. Yeah, but you haven't performed acupuncture. No, but I know that. You could just pull it out. It's fine. Better than keeping it in. No, I know. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Jordan's dad still has it in. He's like, I'm too scared to pull it out. Thanks, Jordan. Stacey's here. Hi, Stacy. Hi, Stacy. Hi, Stacy, what was in you? Oh, I had a pencil at my foot.
Starting point is 00:13:34 A pencil? Yeah. Like a whole pencil or a piece of a pencil? A piece of a pencil in the end, but it was sticking out the side of my foot initially. Oh, did it go right through? No, I had, it was in primary school, I had the Roman sandals. Yeah. It was peaking between the gaps and the Roman sandals, and it just, someone had just sharpened it.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Oh. It always amazes me schools that the school uniform is Roman sandals. Why? Because this could happen. No, Roman sandals are very good sandals. This is a freak accident. You're more likely if you stand on a pencil in a crock for it to puncture through your foot than in a Roman sandal, you know? No, but why is it as part of the school?
Starting point is 00:14:16 Uniform. Because they're good shoes. They're made of leather. I don't know. I feel like you... They just give you the ick. That's the issue. Like, I just think it's a weird school shoe.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Yeah. Well, are you wearing... Are you still wearing them now, Stacey? Roman sandals? Oh, no. Those were long gone after a little. She learned her lesson. She's like, I'm not wearing those hideous things anymore.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Caroline's here. Hi, Caroline. Hi, Caroline. Hello. What's in your, Caroline? It was in me. It's a knitting needle. A knitting needle.
Starting point is 00:14:45 A knitting needle? in the bum cheek. How did that happen? She missed. Yeah. Slightly left of centre. I was missing in my car and we got out. Sure you were, Caroline. I know. I don't know if I can recover from this.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I got out to get my kids some ice lullies, got back in the car, and as I was getting in, accidentally sat on my nesting. and it went right probably about three inches into my bus. Is this three inches? Is this the story you told the hospital, Caroline? I refused to go to hospital because I did not want to be a stat. Fair enough. I was yelling at my husband to pull it out.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Pull it out. It does get worse. Yeah. If you've just joined us, Caroline's talking about a knitting needle. Three inches. Pull it out. Yeah. That must have hurt like hell, Caroline.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Sorry, sorry. it gets worse? How does it get worse? It gets worse. Because I made him pull it out and he says there's a really big big hole. That's a pretty big hole. A really big what? A hole. Really big hole. Okay. Yeah. That's a bit rude. Known in the industry is a big butthole.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Yeah. No, just a puncturing. Yeah. But it's a hole in your butt, isn't it? Yeah, so technically it's a butt hole. It's a big butt hole. Well, yes, but it wasn't in there. It was in the cheek. No, we know, but it's in the butt region. Yeah. Yeah. So what did you do?
Starting point is 00:16:15 All right, it's not a butthole, sorry. No, I need to be clear on that. It wasn't up, Caroline's bat hole, okay? No, I know it wasn't up with a bad hole. When my kids were like, we're going to text in, I was like, make sure you say cheek and not sounds like it, you know. Smart kids. And we went into a petrol station.
Starting point is 00:16:37 He got a plaster. Yeah. Because I couldn't see, we went into disabled toilets. I put my skirt around away. kind of pulled him up and these back so he could, you know, put a plaster and he forgot to lock the disabled door and someone walked in.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Someone walked in on you? Yeah, yeah. While your husband was patching up your butthole. Yeah, yeah. I was bent over the sink and he was trying to put a plaster on. Yeah. Yeah, it was a highlight.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Caroline, we don't do caller of the week on this show, but we're going to start. Yep, Caroline. Caller of the week. It's not going to get any better than that. Caroline, that was such a good story. Yeah, thank you. I'm glad my humiliation.
Starting point is 00:17:21 Yeah, it wasn't all in vain, you know? It wasn't in vain, it was worth it. I told my husband to pull it out, and he did. My kids made me do this. Hello, you have to text in. Oh, you have to. We appreciate it. You've made our day.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Thank you, Caroline. We appreciate it. Oh, my God. That story just kept getting better and better. There are so many more texts on this. I think we come back with the best text of what was a lot. in you next. Before the break, we were asking you the question, what was in you before we got the incredible call about the knitting needle in the bum.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Very good. Bum cheek. Bum cheek. Bum cheek. Bum cheek. Not bum or bum. No. That, not, no.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Not that. Not the bullseye. No. So we didn't even get, we got so carried away, we didn't even get to this test. 180. 180. Anyway, the question. is what was in you and someone said my four-year-old put a round bead in each ear.
Starting point is 00:18:19 They couldn't get them out at urgent care. So we had to go to ED so they could be suction out. Oh, that would be such a nightmare as a parent. It would be terrifying. But as a person, it would be so satisfying to have them pop out of your ears, wouldn't they? Yeah. I'll never forget the day that my grommets came out of my ears. It was so disgusting.
Starting point is 00:18:39 I was like, what is that? I was like, oh my God, what is that? And then I pulled it out and I was like, Oh, you pulled it out? out. Yeah, I pulled it out of my ear. You're not meant to do that, are you? No, well, I think I'd outgrown it and it like had come out. Yeah, right. I didn't like go down into my ear canal and rip it out. Satisfying? So satisfying. Yeah, yeah. Slip down a bank while drilling a retaining wall and then ended up with the drill drilling in my left arm. Oh! Oh! That's awful.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Someone else said I put a circular saw blade on the end of my weed whacker, as you do, and then hit a piece of metal and one of the little tungsten teeth came off and hit me in the neck. So I went to the hospital and they stitched it back up and I went back a month later because there was still a lump there and they cut it back open
Starting point is 00:19:25 and guess what? There was still one of the little tungsten teeth tips of the circular saw blades still in my neck. I've seen mad dogs on Instagram weed whacking with a circular sore blade on the end of the weed wacker. It looks like the most dangerous thing. have ever seen. It seems so dangerous.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Because if it comes loose and that thing drops, that's final destination. That's like a super big like ninja star is what it is. I had a tampon in me for a couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:19:55 A couple of weeks! The string disappeared and I forgot that it was in there. Look, I'll be honest. Ladies, it's happened to all of us. A couple of weeks though. A couple of weeks though. I mean, I feel like
Starting point is 00:20:07 I've gone 24 hours and then been like, oh. I feel like the most dangerous thing we were told about as teenagers in sex ed was tampon toxic shock. No. No, but I feel like that's what, Grace knows. That's what was drilled into us, right? They're like, do not leave it in there. You will get toxic shock.
Starting point is 00:20:24 24 hours is crazy, Bree. No, I didn't do it on purpose. But still, you can get toxic shock. It was drilled into me. Guess what? I'm still here. No, Bree. No, Bree.
Starting point is 00:20:34 I'm not encouraging people to do it. You're the exception, not the rule. I am trying to make people. It's not a challenge, guys. It's not a challenge. I am trying to make women feel okay about the fact that it's happened to the best of us. And Grace and I are trying to keep women terrified so that they take it out. Can we stay alive, Bree?
Starting point is 00:20:51 Oh, God, guys, we've got bigger problems. It's fine. You know what happens here and there. What are I doing in this conversation? Oh, God, another tampon text. What else was stuck in people? I made a mind from uni. His mum was an HR nurse.
Starting point is 00:21:05 She had so many stories of people stuck in various orifice. but the most memorable one was a guy who came in with a completely intact pint glass up his... No, shit. I don't hate that! They didn't even know how it got there. Well, we know how it got there. He slipped and fell. We know how it got there.
Starting point is 00:21:25 He slept. He had one too many Guinness with the fellas. He slept at the pub and fell. Bro, we said split the G, not sit the G. Finding the G spot Change a tampon in New Zealand Brian Clintz Here's Sabrina Carpenter
Starting point is 00:21:47 ZM's Brie and Clint Podcast shows brought you by KFC They're giving away a thousand dollars every day With the Colonel's Vault T's and C supply The T live from L.A. with Dean McAfee Dean this is pretty wild
Starting point is 00:22:01 But they're saying Miley Cyrus's new album Is a flop Yes, let me explain because that is a wild headline, but this is a headline we haven't seen since 2018. So what happened was, she debuted her new album at number one on the Billboard 100. Sorry, Billboard 200. The next week, it dropped from 100 to number 157. Whoa. Wait, so it debuted at what number?
Starting point is 00:22:29 It debuted at 1. And it fell 157 places in a week. Yes. Wow. The last time that happened, it was John Bon Jovi. Had an album like I don't remember the name of it. No one can, really. I just don't really know.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Here's the thing. She had all the right ingredients. She had the best press. Her music videos are phenomenal. She partnered with Madonna. She had, it was real. We were all talking about it, right? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:58 I don't have an answer. I do, Dean. This dropped. Go on. I know why. because people didn't realize it was Miley Cyrus because she dropped her last name and she's just Miley. So people are like, who's this, new artist?
Starting point is 00:23:12 That's wild. I find the chart numbers hard to take seriously these days because of streaming. You know, like an album would drop in the past and the single would go into the chart. But now the Taylor Swift's of the world will drop an album and all 18 songs will take up places one through 18 on the chart,
Starting point is 00:23:30 which is just not real. It's not realistic. It's not the single, it's not the lead single, but that's the world that we live in because everything they get streamed counts towards the thing, doesn't it, Dean? Yeah, yeah, that's right. I think another person that really,
Starting point is 00:23:44 everyone's been talking about recently was obviously the launch of Lizzo's new album as well. I think she sold 8,000 copies in the first week, another catastrophe. So I don't, just like you said, I don't really know. Yeah, the difference between Miley and Lizzo's album, though, is that Miley's was good.
Starting point is 00:23:58 So that's a little bit more shocking the Miley Cyrus one. I love ShadyClean. It's actually one of my favorite things. Oh, and imagine if I wasn't being serious as well. Imagine if that wasn't accurate. Wasn't it straight hot trash, the Lizzo album? Anyway, far from me to say.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Oh my God. Canceled. That's the T with D. McCarthy. The ZD.M. Podcast Network. Have you been across much of the news about El Nino? Oh, no. You haven't? No, I don't follow weather news.
Starting point is 00:24:27 According to my partner, it's going to be a very windy summer in New Zealand because of El Nino. Windy? Windy, I know. I want a drought. Sorry, farmers. You can't say that. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I want a long hot sizzler. There's apparently a super El Nino on the way that is forecast, and it's going to be some record-breaking temperatures, which is causing certain foods to have less crops. Hot and windy. Hot and windy. That's your Tinder bio, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:25:07 Used to be. What do you think of the two foods that they're saying are going to be quite heavily affected? Yeah, okay. In terms of certain ingredients not being available, so the prices are going to go up. Not tomatoes. Tomatoes like it hot. Windy. Do we grow these products here?
Starting point is 00:25:29 I don't. No. What blows away a lot? Flowers and coffee. You're right with the coffee. Coffee is on the list. According to these reports. Any chance to put up the cost of coffee and petrol A.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Right. But you're not going to like the other one. The other food. Oh, not beer, is it? No, it's a food. We all enjoy this particular food. Sausages. No.
Starting point is 00:26:00 What is going to be effective? because of El Nino, it's going to put pressure on a certain crop. Oh, it's chocolate, isn't it? It is chocolate. Yeah, right. Cacao? Cacao.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Cacao. Cropes, according to this, in regions like Ecuador and the Ivory Coast. Yeah. Are going to be affected by the super El Nino that is coming across, shifting rainfall patterns, temperatures that are rising globally. I would have thought cacao beans and coffee beans liked it. hot, but I'm no botanist.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Well, I think not to the extreme of what this is going to cause. Yeah, right. And so everything's going to go up. The price, oh, imagine, Hey, everything's going up anyway. Can you imagine, though? Yeah. Can you imagine, though, let's say 50 years into the future.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Yeah. Do you reckon chocolate is going to be one of those things where... Oh, super luxury. Only the real rich people are going to be able to have it? Well, to be fair, and I'm not 100% on this fact, but I'll say it anyway. I think that's the way chocolate always was. And it wasn't until recent history that chocolate became accessible to everyone. You know?
Starting point is 00:27:06 Yeah. Like if you talked to your grandma and you were like, oh, I had, like you, if you said, I ate half a block of chocolate today, she'd be like, what? She'd be like, what? You ate three months worth of chocolate? Yeah. But here's the thing is that now we've all been able to enjoy it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:21 They can't take it away. Yeah. You know, because we all know how good it is. Yeah. Scary times. So you can charge whatever you want for it. Yeah. Scary bloody times.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Yeah. The price of chocolate. Chocolate has been going up and up and up, hasn't it? Yeah, it has. And coffee. Or the blocks of chocolate are becoming smaller. Yeah. Like the cabri ones are so small.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Do you know what I had the other day? What? Snickers. Full size Snickers. So small. So is Mars. It's almost like a party snickers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:49 I was like, wait, is this like a kid's one? And it's in that weird paper packaging? Yeah. But it's not paper, is it? I don't think so. So you can't recycle it. It's like a waxy. Or can you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Like I'm not too sure what it is, but it's a weird packaging. Yeah, right. Okay. Anyway, that's just the bad news I've got. That's it. You meant to round these things out with good news for the radio. So you told people we're going to have a terrible summer. You said we're going to have the price of our favourite things go up in price.
Starting point is 00:28:14 But on the bright side... But on the bright side, no, there's no bright side. Life's unfair. It's ZAM's Brea and Clint podcast. Sound the politics. siren because we're going to talk about some and no one wants to no one cares
Starting point is 00:28:35 no one wants to hear us talk about it no one wants to hear us talk about it no one which fair no one wants to talk about politics with their friends because it'll just ruin your friendship group no one wants to talk about with their parents because it will ruin your relationship it will ruin dinner but just a little bit of politics chat
Starting point is 00:28:53 it's not that bad actually the Labor Party which is the Chris Hipkins one which is the ones with the red and pink billboards have announced that if elected next month they will require every international musician who comes into New Zealand to include a local support act on the lineup.
Starting point is 00:29:14 So Bruno Mars comes here, he has to have Cassie Henderson open for him. Or 660. Or 660. Yeah, Taylor Swift comes here. She won't. She has to have 660 open for her. Drax Project.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Come here. Page. Those are both Kiwi Spree. So they wouldn't need to have a Kiwi artist open for them. I'm giving suggestions of artists that they can have open for them. Oh, okay, right. The format I was using was international act and then pairing them with a local act. You just started yelling out local acts.
Starting point is 00:29:42 I was giving you other options. Right, okay. They want to give, obviously, the Kiwi artists the big stage and let them share in some of the money from these big tours as well. And I hate it. I think it's a terrible idea. I don't mind it. You know why I hate it?
Starting point is 00:29:59 Why? Because I love Kiwiaks. I really want to see some of these Kiwiaks play big stadiums like Eden Park and Takaha and Christchurch. But these bands already don't want to come here. It's already too far away. I don't think that's going to stop them, though. And then if you put another rule on them and they're like, yeah, well, if you come here, you better, you better get Mitch James. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Starting point is 00:30:24 I don't think it's that big of a deal. Don't you? No, not really. And I don't think, I think it's definitely not going to make the decision for an international actor to come to New Zealand or not. You know what I mean? Isn't it? They already don't want to come.
Starting point is 00:30:37 They're either going to come or they're not going to come. Like this isn't going to make or break their decision. Yeah, right. And if it does, then I mean, that's sad for them. You know, giving New Zealand artists a platform in New Zealand. Yeah. I don't think it's such a bad thing. I actually think it's quite a good thing.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Okay. I wonder if they can, if they can still break. because often these international acts bring a great opening act with them, you know? Like how Bruno Mars is bringing Anderson Pack. Would we still get Anderson Pack? Maybe. And then they have to have another act on there as well? Maybe the Kiwi Act would just be on earlier.
Starting point is 00:31:13 So this is why we don't talk about politics, eh? Well, I'm... But this is... I don't think it's a heated conversation. We just disagree. Yeah. You know? But I also, I'm not super invested in it. Like, I feel like there's...
Starting point is 00:31:27 way bigger issues we could be talking about. Do you know what I mean? Like this isn't going to... To be honest, this is the lightest political topic I could find for us to do a bit of politics on the show. Producers, what do you think? Where are you sitting? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I'm kind of convinced you a little bit? I did, didn't I? I was thinking specifically about that red hot chili peppers show when post Malone opened. That was such a draw card for me. That was one of the only reasons I bought a ticket to that show. Double header. And if it was them with some random person
Starting point is 00:31:55 that I didn't care about, happen to be from New Zealand, I wouldn't have bought that ticket, you know? Yeah, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. I agree with Bree. It's not that big of a deal. Just put them before the opener. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:06 If you have a good open plan, like Anderson Pat, just have them do like a half an hour quickie. Someone's text in and around they said, I work in entertainment for the big shows. New Zealand is always number five or sixth show on the Australian run. Getting them to jump across the ditch is already so hard. Yeah, but I don't.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I think this is going to be the thing that changes their mind drastically. It's hard when it's a rule when it's not encouraged. Yeah, yeah. It's not like, hey, if you include a New Zealand act, we'll give you a free hucker at the airport or something. Well, let's try that first. So then we can see. We should try that first.
Starting point is 00:32:41 We should try that way. Encouragement. Yeah. I hate rules. Obviously. All right, politics over. It's ZM's Brinklin podcast. Once upon a time,
Starting point is 00:32:57 was a girl. She was smart, debatable, talented, eh, athletic. Not really, but picking a movie title based on just the plot line that she can do. Bree and Clint's What's the Plot? It's our movie guessing game where Bree has lost two games in a row. It's very rare that we say that. It could happen, could make it a trilogy today. Could be three in a row. Yeah. If Bridie has anything to do with it. Hi, Bridie. Hi, Bridie. Hi, Bridie. Hi. You ever played What's the Plot before, Bridie? In my car a lot of time. In the car, yeah. Well, you could be about to pick up your maiden victory
Starting point is 00:33:36 and win $50 cash if you beat Bree today. What's your favorite movie of all time, Bridie? Oh, maybe about time? Such a good choice. Is that the time travel one with Rachel McAdams? Yes. Yes. That's not the time traveler's wife.
Starting point is 00:33:55 No. Yeah, right. It's the guy with the red hair. Yeah. Remember she did like back-to-back time travel movies in the same time? Yeah, she did too. So confusing. Okay, Bridie. Theme-wise for this game, did anybody watch the political debate last night on TV 3? Sure did.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Did you see the dancing robot? Yes. Did you see the dancing robot on TV last night, Bridie? No, I didn't. Okay, well, just a bit of fun. It was very funny. Ryan Bridge got up and danced with this robot. So today our theme is movies about sentient robots. robots.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Ooh. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Okay. I read movie plot lines from the start. You buzz in with your name when you want to guess it. You don't wait for me to finish. First of two wins. Good luck, guys.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Best of luck, Bridie. A woman is living an ordinary life when a mysterious man arrives from the future warning her that she is being hunted by a nearly... Bridie. Braidy. Cerminator?
Starting point is 00:34:54 Uh-huh. Good work, Briddie. Unstoppable Cyborg Assassin was the end of that sentence. I've never actually seen it. You know, I've never seen Terminator either. Have you seen Terminator 2? No. No, I also haven't seen Terminator.
Starting point is 00:35:09 You haven't seen it either? No. It's meant to be very good. Yeah, I've heard. All right, movie number two. In a futuristic city, a former detective is brought back to hunt down a group of highly advanced brie. Men in Black.
Starting point is 00:35:29 It's more aliens than robots, isn't it? Bridey, free guess? I robot. I robot, good guess. I'll start again. A futuristic city, a former detective, Bree. The fifth element. Bridie? No idea.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I'll start again. A futuristic city, a former detective, is brought back to hunt down a group of highly advanced artificial humans who have escaped and are hiding among ordinary people. Brie? The island. Bridey? No. Blade runner.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Haven't seen it. Neither. No, neither. I reckon you've seen this one, Bree. I don't know about you, Bridie. Plotline number three, 1-0 Bridie. A household robot is bought, Brie. Brie, Barsentennial Man.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yeah, boy! Robin Williams. Watched it a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, but you thought it was bisexual man. No, that's... Yeah, you don't want to get those mixed up. Robin Williams and what? That means it's one apiece, Bridie.
Starting point is 00:36:30 It means we're at the decider. Okay. Movies about sentient robots. Movie number four. In a future where Earth has been abandoned and covered in rubbish, a lonely little brie. Brie. Brighy.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Warley is correct. Just got away from you, Bridie. I tell you what. Yeah. We're blood of close. We have a consolation prize for you, Bridey. It's 50 KFC chicken dollars. Oh, perfect.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Thank you so much. You're so welcome. Thank you for playing. Thanks for taking Bree to the Wire. It's always more fun. Way more fun. Thanks, KFC as well. They're giving me a thousand dollars every day with the Colonel's Vault. T's and C's apply. Play Zatim's Bree and Clint.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Stella Lefty. You know Stella Lefty from this song, Boston, aka Stella 50, am I right? A lot of accusations have been made around multiple Stella Lefty songs, whether she's plagiarized other artist's songs. There's been five so far. Yeah. Guys, we've got a six.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Oh, God. Let's just cover first off the five. Some of the bigies. Or some of the bigger ones that have come before this one, which the biggest one I feel like that was first, was Noah Can't Stick season. And the Boston track that we just played. Yes, correct.
Starting point is 00:38:01 The one that, I think is the most blatant is the song from the greatest showman. Which one is that? Which was... A million dreams? A million drinks. Versus Stella Lefty's song, Misery. A hard one to defend.
Starting point is 00:38:34 That one's so blatant. Then there was like another Blake Shelton one, which I believe his song was called I'll name the dog. Her song, why wouldn't we? That one's tough too because it's country. Uh-huh. It's like the songs don't just follow the same melodic pattern. They're the same style of song.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Yeah. Look, there's a few others, but the new one. The one that's doing the rounds at the moment. This is the sixth time she has been accused of plagiarism. Uh-huh. And it's the actual artists that are calling her out this time. Okay. It's not random people going, these two songs sound the same.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Yeah. So these music are. Musicians also hail from Nashville. Their names are Shailen and Taylor. They're not big-time artists. Okay. But they're artists who are trying to make it. They're trying to break into the scene.
Starting point is 00:39:40 And they have questioned the similarities between their song, which is called Watch This. Wait till the tequila hits. Wait till me in bottle of jack and I'm buzzing. Baby you know I get. And Stella Lefty's unreleased track called Badly. Come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Oh, my thing. Oh, my song. You said to finally quit, baby liquor on your list on a tie. And it's that song. Say you want me so bad thing. How and I don't.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Hey. You said to me the first time we talked about this, that some people believe it's because she's using AI to write her music. Correct. Yeah. Some people reckon she's using a lot of AI programs, and AI will. draw inspiration from
Starting point is 00:40:35 something. Yeah, from, it has to get it from somewhere. Can we hear the track that these artists are saying this Stella Lifty song sounds like it? Honestly, I can't tell the difference. It just doesn't go into the rapping part.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Pretty bloody close if you ask me. The Seneca Me also goes, is this a thing? Is she doing this on purpose? because you have to make a name for yourself somehow, right? You have to get noticed. You have to get people talking about your music. And is ripping off some of the world's biggest songs, the way to get noticed?
Starting point is 00:41:14 Not the right way. No, not the right way, but a way. But I think this is what these people are saying. These musicians are, like, not saying that they're no ones, but they're not big-time artists. They're still trying to break into the scene, and now she's, well, they're accusing her of taking their songs. For them, this is a...
Starting point is 00:41:33 This is actually quite good because now people are hearing their song. Oh, there you go. You and I always wanted a hit song. We had that DJ duo. We always wanted a hit song. Maybe we should have looked more to rip someone off. Wait.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Or should we... We should just copied like a Calvin Harris song or something? Should we send the Hot Mess Express? Should we send that song to Stella Lefty? Nick Minna? Oh, get her to rip it off. She'll rip it off. And will be famous?
Starting point is 00:42:01 I don't hate the idea. Someone send it to a... Stiller Lifty's people. Yeah, someone waved the song under her nose. Someone just said, hey, Stella, thought you'd like this song. Yeah. A couple of weeks later, we're like, whoa. That sounds exactly like send it.
Starting point is 00:42:15 And we're stoked. ZDM's Bree and Clint Podcast. If you were listening on Tuesday, you might have heard us get our good friend Maddie Maclean on the show. Works at the Hits. Used to do the weather on TV. I want to retract good friend from my records, thanks. Okay, former friend. Um, on.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I was going to say on the fence friend. Maddie turned 40 last week. He had a birthday party on Saturday. I was there. And when I was there, I remember going, I wonder where Bree is. And I just assumed that I would see you there, but I didn't. And then on Monday I was talking about the birthday party. And Bree went, what?
Starting point is 00:42:55 I said, what birthday party? What birthday party? I said, oh. At the Bowles Club up the road from your house. Literally down the road from my house. from your house. And so we called Maddie just to check. Because there's every chance that you missed the invitation. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:11 That it went to the wrong inbox. There is a chance. That you opened it and forgot about it. But there was also a good chance that I wasn't invited. So we put it to Maddie and he admitted it was his fault. Bree, you were one of about 20 people that I forgot. It's not Bree's fault. And can I say it's, it is my fault.
Starting point is 00:43:31 But this is why I just, I can't be left in charge of organ. thing. He tried so hard to say that it wasn't his fault. You know, he tried so hard there to go. It's not my fault either. He forgot to invite me. My fiancé, who's also friends with Maddie, also didn't get an invite, also quite upset.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Yeah, it would be weird if she got an invite and not you. Yeah. Obviously, he just forgot about both of us. Yeah. Both forgettable in his life. Do you think it's because you're women? Yeah, maybe. I think that is probably a key factor.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Big key factor. Didn't forget Fletch or Vaughan. No. Did forget Haley? Did he? Well, she wasn't there. I'd love to ring Haley and see if she was invited. I reckon she was and she just couldn't make it.
Starting point is 00:44:19 I think she was in Sydney, wasn't she? Actually, now that I think about it. I think all of the women that were there were plus ones. He didn't invite a single woman on her own. Half of his sister and his mother. Oh, God. Yeah, look, it's going to take time. His invitation to my wedding is now up in the end.
Starting point is 00:44:36 It's in jeopardy. It is. For real, because we are low on numbers. Like, we are at max capacity. And, I mean, it's bumped his name up a few spots. What about his husband? To be cut. Nah, Ryan's still.
Starting point is 00:44:50 So Ryan's definitely invited. Maddie McLean's husband definitely invited. Ryan is definitely invited. It doesn't involve him. We love Ryan. Do you know inviting Ryan, I think, would upset Maddie more than not inviting both of them, you know? Of course it would.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Yeah. Yeah. He'd rather none of them went than someone went that wasn't him. I know that. The question we've got for you this afternoon is who forgot to invite you to the thing? Who forgot to invite you to the important thing
Starting point is 00:45:19 that you should have been at? It's not like you were a maybe or a 50-50. You should have been at this thing. And the perfect example is our producer Claudia. Claudia, who forgot to invite you to what? My friends forgot to invite me to my own surprise party. So it was a real surprise to me. That is a rather larger oversight.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I didn't find out until they called me and they were like, hey, where are you? I was like, at home, what do you mean? And they were like, oh my God. And obviously then talked to each other about it. They had to spoil it to get me in the room because like, we've thrown your party. You have to come. I'm like, okay. That's outrageous.
Starting point is 00:45:56 So bad, eh? That's so bad. I mean, they've kept a good. secret. Yeah, they were trying to be sweet. There's meant to be one person though who takes you out. Yeah. And it was like hey, let's go out and do this. Let's go for a drink. Wear something nice. I will.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Yeah, let's dress up for no reason. Oh, I just need to pop in here and get something. Surprise! Boom, gotcha. I wouldn't invite her Claudia to her own surprise party. Dead is Franklin. Brea's still not over, not being invited to Maddie MacLean. It just happened. It literally happened on the weekend. I'm not saying you should be over it. He sees me every day.
Starting point is 00:46:31 We work at the same workplace, and he forgot to invite me to his 40th. I'm literally in the midst of inviting people to my wedding. Yeah. I think he's on the cusp. He calls harmless mistake. Someone texts in and said, I call BS. Bree and Clint are basically joined at the hip, and he didn't forget Clint. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:51 It's so true. Someone else said you should make Maddie a plus one on Ryan, his partner's invite. Why do we do that right now? I'm just going to, can we call Maddie? And I'm just going to go, hey, is Ryan there? I'd like to talk to Ryan. That's Maddie's husband. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:07 He's a sweetheart, by the way. Calling Maddie to talk to Ryan? Yeah, I just want to talk to Ryan to invite him to my wedding. Hi, as Ryan there, please? Yep. Claudia's making sure we explicitly make it clear to Maddie that we're live on the radio. Hi, Maddie, McLean. Hi, Maddie, McLean.
Starting point is 00:47:28 It's the person. and you forgot to invite to your 40th birthday. It's Bree. What are you on? Brie Thomasel. Do you remember me? What are you on? Hey, quick one for you.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Is your beautiful husband, Ryan, there? I just want to talk to him. He's not here. I'm so sorry. Okay. Tell him why you wanted to talk to Ryan. Can you get him to call me? I have something I want to invite him to.
Starting point is 00:47:52 Pets off. So just whatever, at his earliest convenience, tell him to give me a call and I just have it's between him and I you don't need to know anything else yeah okay cool okay cool
Starting point is 00:48:07 you're about to have a free weekend in March next year Maddie cool brilliant I can wash my hair yeah yeah no that's good you'll have plenty of time that'll take ages thanks Maddie
Starting point is 00:48:21 thanks Maddie bye bye yeah he laughed but on the inside he's broken he cry Jordan's here. Hi, Jordan.
Starting point is 00:48:30 Hi, Jordan. Hi. Who forgot to invite you to what, Jordan? I don't think I was an accident, but my auntie didn't invite me to a wedding and she lived around the corner from me. Oh, my God. You don't think it was an accident, Jordan?
Starting point is 00:48:43 No, because my parents were invited and then they said it sucked that I couldn't come. Oh, was anyone else like, let's say, do you have siblings? And were they invited? My sister also wasn't invited. Okay. Were you kids?
Starting point is 00:48:57 Yeah. Pardon? Were you kids at the time? No, I was 21. Oh no. Because I can get it if they're like, no children. Yeah, and I'm waiting for my partner to propose to me, and they said, asked if they were invited to my wedding.
Starting point is 00:49:10 They asked. They had the nerve to ask if they would be invited to yours. Yeah. And are you going to invite them? I don't know. We'll see. I might be the bigger person. No, don't be the bigger person.
Starting point is 00:49:20 No, take the high road, Jordan. It feels way better. Me, however, I love taking the low road. So Maddie McLean will not be a big of them. invited to my wedding. Fine, Jordan. Be the bigger person, but definitely bring it up in the speech.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Yeah, I will. Yeah. It's a special shout-up to my auntie who's here tonight. Love my auntie. She didn't invite me to her wedding. Also, put them on the worst table with the most annoying cousins. Put them near the toilet.
Starting point is 00:49:44 I remember to do that. Yeah, good on you. Someone said, the question was, whoever forgot to invite you to what? Someone said, I got invited to a wedding, but they forgot to put me on the seating chart. It was humiliating. It was worse than forget.
Starting point is 00:49:57 getting to invite me, honestly. That's my worst nightmare. Yeah, what did you do? Do you just... That's awful. Stand? You don't have anywhere to sit. Squish in at someone else's table.
Starting point is 00:50:06 That is embarrassing. That's so yuck. My mum did the same thing as Claudia's friends. Spent so much time sorting out the surprise that she forgot to plan to get me to my own surprise party. Oh, no. What about this? I feel like this takes the cake.
Starting point is 00:50:19 My extended family forgot to invite me and my sister to my dad's memorial service. That's next level. There's another one like it too. It says my grandma forgot to invite my mum to her aunt's funeral, the aunt that I am named after even. That's rough. So the grandma forgot to invite her own daughter. That's crazy work.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Yeah, that's not good. Not sure if it's forgotten, but I was not invited to a friend's wedding because at this time I had a two-month-old that I was breastfeeding and she did not feel that I would come to the wedding even if I was invited. P.S. I would have gone. Oh, real.
Starting point is 00:51:03 So she just assumed that you wouldn't go. Which some people wouldn't. Yeah, but... Give them the chance. You still invite them and then let them decide. Can I just give everybody a tip? And I think you'll appreciate this at the moment. If you have friends who have recently had babies...
Starting point is 00:51:19 Invite them anyway. Invite them to everything. Don't expect them to come, but invite them to everything. Yep. They won't come. In fact, you should hope they don't come because they'll be exhausted. Just invite them.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Someone said clearly Taylor Swift forgot to invite me to her wedding. So rude. She invited everyone else. Yeah, girl. I mean, Adam Sandler officiators. Well, we're not even sure if the wedding happened. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:51:45 No one saw photos. Has there been no photos? No one's seen any photos. How do we know that it was a wedding? You know, could have been a secret meeting of the Illuminati. So see Grace gets it I was going to say it wasn't very secret Well no it was because everyone's like
Starting point is 00:52:02 It's a wedding Don't worry it's just a wedding And inside they're like Oga chaga Oga chaga Oga chaga doing Illuminati stuff And the little babies are dancing on the stage Oga chaga
Starting point is 00:52:11 Oga chaga Oga chaga Because if there's one thing we know About the Illuminati Beyonce's in the centre doing a blood sacrifice Oga chaga Oga chaga
Starting point is 00:52:20 Oga chaga Oga chaga It's how I assume it happens I think it's a good assumption Thanks, Brie. I'll invite you to my 40th. Next in the show. I'm bloody hope so.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Z-N's Brie and Clint. All I want from my birthday to the birthday banger. Here we go, your birthday bangers. This is where you call us. Tell us your birthday, and we figure out what was number one when you were celebrating your 16th birthday. My man Gavin's up first.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Gidee, Gave. Hi, Gav. How's your day being, Gavin? Oh, just so any friends to work about 20 minutes ago. What do you do for work, Gavin? Work and a quarry operating machines in that. Yeah, in the quarry. How good.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Heavy machinery. Good to be homeless. Let's do your birthday, man. What's your day to birth? June 4 February 68. All right, Gab, that means you was 16 in 1994. And on that day in 94, this was number one. Baby, give it up.
Starting point is 00:53:25 What a feel good, Bob. You done the math right on that? Yeah. How's someone born in 1968, 16 in 1994? Oh, being old, so, I get it. Wouldn't he been 16 in 1980? Producers, who wants to claim the bad math on that one? I'll claim it and I'll raise you a better song.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Okay, you go. It's actually 1984. Oh, yeah, okay. You're 10 years off. And in 84, Gav, on your 16th birthday, this was number one. What do you reckon, Gab? Boy, yeah. One of my favourite.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Yeah, boy. There you go. We made a mistake, and by rectifying it, we improved the situation. It's a win-win. It's a win-win. Yeah, bloody good. Wait there, Gavin. We'll do Regan's birthday banger.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Hi, Regan. Hi, Regan. Hello, how are we? I heard that it's your birthday today, mate. Happy birthday. It is my birthday. Thank you very much. Plans for the evening, Regan?
Starting point is 00:54:29 Oh, get a free burger at Burgerfield. Oh, free burger? Oh, yeah. What did you have for lunch? Chicken wraps. What kind of chicken was in the wrap? Not sate. Not a sate?
Starting point is 00:54:44 Not butter chicken wraps? No. Okay. Okay, we won't push it then. We're just checking Regan. A, what year, mate? 92, 1992. All right, that means you were 16 in 2008.
Starting point is 00:54:57 So on this day, in 2008, this was number one. Chune. One of my faves. Two kiwi bangers in a row. Do you like it, Regan? I love it. It's a goodie. People who don't understand the birthday curry through line
Starting point is 00:55:17 would have been so confused. Why do you give such a shit about what he had for lunch? Yeah, why you keep pressing people on what they've eaten on their birthday. We can't explain it. Okay, we can't explain it until it happens. If you know, you know. One more for Mandy. Hi, Mandy.
Starting point is 00:55:30 Hi, Bree. What's been happening for you today, Mandy? Just works. What do you do, Mandy? I'm a receptionist at a mechanic's workshop. My. Thank you for what you do. What is your birthday, Mandy?
Starting point is 00:55:46 First of May 1987. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your service. At reception. And for serving us. And for servicing the cars. Thank you for, yes. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:55:55 It's a three-foss. Thank you, Mandy. You can have gone with all the facts. You were 16, Mandy, in 2003. Let's hope for a good end. Banga! Absolute. It's an absolute belter.
Starting point is 00:56:13 You've got to be happy with that, Mandy. Oh, absolutely. That's my vintage. That's my vote. I'm voting for Mandy's song. Me too. Are you? Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:56:22 Let's go, Mandy. I mean, we have to repay her back for her services in some way. Yeah, thank you for your services. Z&M's Brie and Clint Podcast 50 cent in the club On ZDM with Brinclin Remember when we all just used to yell that out
Starting point is 00:56:40 G, G, GU Nutt Yeah, Phiddy Claudia, can we get a GUNT? Come, Claude. I think I'm too white for this. G Nurt, GU Nutt. GU not. Come on, new producer Grace, come on. Grace.
Starting point is 00:56:55 GU not. GUNT. G nut. G naught. Come on, Claude. Go on home. The ZDM Podcast Network Siena Spiro
Starting point is 00:57:11 In Great Expectation That song is begging for us to do it for Friday Oki By the way Have we not done that? No We've ever another scene asmorrow Claudia's shaking her head That would be awful
Starting point is 00:57:24 How does it start? Oh, how does it start? There's no a cappella at the start No, no Oh this would be bad Don't worry There's no Fridayuki this week
Starting point is 00:57:37 Our producer is on leave So you get a week off This would be like I feel like driver's licence part two Yeah maybe we don't do it Okay All good Um
Starting point is 00:57:48 Right I said to you That I found something That will tell you Whether your relationship Is going to last Okay One piece of audio
Starting point is 00:57:57 Short clip Okay And I think it's true I'll play it for you guys And then we can discuss I have a surefire way to tell if your marriage is going to last. You don't need to have anything in common. You need to make each other laugh and you need to hate the same people.
Starting point is 00:58:11 And I can't stress that enough. Then I'll have to love, say, but that doesn't factor into it for some reason. But if you hate someone, they have to hate that same person with the white, hot intensity of a thousand sons or your marriage is going to work. Uh-huh. You know how I know that my fiancé, Sapphire and I are a great match. How? is when we watch reality TV shows. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:34 So let's, for example, say we watch Survivor. Yeah. On that show, there's people you really love and there's people you dislike. Yeah. Her and I never disagree. Yeah, right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:47 We always love the same people and we always hate the same people. And you don't have to discuss it? Don't have to. It just happens. And I think it's because we're aligned on the same core values. With that one, I mean, I feel like the TV show, they engineer people for you to love and hate. But in real life, it's a bit different. Like if she came home one day and she said, I really dislike this person because of this reason, and it makes me feel like this. If you,
Starting point is 00:59:16 as her life partner, her fiancé, would then turn around and go, oh, I don't know, I don't think they're so bad. I quite like them. That is a betrayal. No, but I would never do that. No, I No, you wouldn't. Nah. But can you see how that is a betrayal? If they have wronged her, then in my eyes, they have wronged me. I think you are entitled to go, oh, that sucks. I thought I was going to be friends with them, but no, we hate them now.
Starting point is 00:59:40 Looks like we're not going to like them. I'll invite them to pickleball. Where's the last time we played pickleball? I've never played pickleball. We should play. Should we have the brand club pickleball court? They have smaller courts. Yeah, we can find one.
Starting point is 00:59:54 Can we? Yeah, there's something around. No, we just need someone to hate. Oh, that's right, that person. We won't invite them. We're good. It's ZAM's Bree and Clint Podcast. Look, I wasn't going to do it.
Starting point is 01:00:08 I thought it was going to be one and done, but the people, it's been, just people have been hounding me for it, Clint. Yesterday, I did part one of things you didn't know about North Korea, and the people have just, I've had an influx. They want part two, we want more. What is there to know about North Korea? Can you bring me up to speed because I wasn't here yesterday? Okay, so yesterday the recap was that women can only pick from a certain list of haircuts that the government give out.
Starting point is 01:00:37 It's 18 haircuts that they can pick from. It's quite a lot of haircuts. Men also can only pick from 15 hairstyles. Okay. You're not allowed to wear blue jeans. They are banned in North Korea because of what they represent. There's only four TV channels in North Korea. That's it.
Starting point is 01:00:54 No streaming services. It's like New Zealand in the 2000s. And they also have a different calendar that they live by. No, that's the craziest one. Yeah. They don't, they don't adhere to the, no, Gregorian calendar that we use. No, different calendar. But are you ready for part two?
Starting point is 01:01:11 Well, now I am. You didn't know about North Korea. Oh yeah. Did you guys know that North Korea is home to the world's largest, largest stadium? No. They have the biggest stadium in the world. What have they got going on in there? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:31 So according to this, it seats 150,000 people. Wow. The biggest stadium I was aware of is the Narendramodi Stadium in India, which I think is 110,000 people. So this one's 40,000 more than that. Wow. What are they doing? Oh, no, it's not like...
Starting point is 01:01:50 Yeah. Oh, I don't think we want to... Anyway, next thing, that you probably didn't know about North Korea, It has its own basketball rules. Really? Yeah. According to this article, Kim Jong-un apparently didn't like the OG way basketball was played,
Starting point is 01:02:08 so decided to rewrite it. Well, when you're Kim Jong-un, you can change the rules of any sport you like. Yeah. Because if you're not happy with it, he'll take you to that stadium. Famously, Dennis Rodman spent quite a lot of time in North Korea. Him and Kim Jong-un, very good friends. What? Besties.
Starting point is 01:02:24 You don't know this? Didn't know that. You don't know this over the last five years. Dennis Rodman has been to North Korea multiple times to hang out with his friend Kim Jong-un. Weird. Yeah. Kim Jong-un is the current one, isn't he? Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Another fact about Kim Jong-un is that he hates, hates K-pop with a passion. Like hates it. And all the best K-pop comes from South Korea. Yeah, right. Yeah. Was he making any good K-pop? Well, here's another fact on top of the... that fact is no outside music is allowed in North Korea.
Starting point is 01:03:00 Yeah, right. I believe that. So, K-pop isn't the only music that he despises. In 2015, Kim Jong-un issued a decree to scrap all cassette tapes, CDs, and had state band songs. Wow. Can you imagine if someone, like, smuggled, like, a Chapel Roan CD into North Korea? It would blow their minds.
Starting point is 01:03:22 Yeah, it would. Yeah. Kind of like, yeah, kind of like when Marty McFly goes back. Second time on Back to the Future and he plays the kids the rock and roll. Right? Yeah. Another thing that, another fact that you might not know about North Korea is that human waste is used as fertilizer. Oh, grim.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Oh, that happens in places. In 2008, South Korea stopped sending fertilizers to North Korea and thus the country faced a shortage of the smelly stuff. So they started using human waste. They were doing that in Rotorua for a while. Were they? Yeah, spraying it on the Redwood Forest. That's why it smells like that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:55 You know who else was doing it? Hey. Matt Damon in the movie The Martian. Yeah. Drew potatoes with his own poo-poo. True. Yeah. And that concludes things you didn't or maybe didn't know about North Korea.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Great. Is there going to be a part three? I mean, if the people want it, I will give it to them. Please. A ZM's Breanclint podcast. That is the end of the Breanclint show. Often we'll finish this show and we'll discuss television shows and sometimes we'll be in a pit of despair for not having any TV shows to watch.
Starting point is 01:04:33 I am the complete opposite at the moment. Are you? I am a embarrassment of wealthers when it comes to TV shows to watch right now. Then your opinion is no good here because I'm still looking and searching. Well, no, my opinion is good. So what if I've got TV shows for you? Probably ones I've seen. Well, what about hacks?
Starting point is 01:04:55 It's the TV show I told you to watch. Oh, it's very good, there's five seasons. What about The Gentleman? I'm watching it. Very good. Yeah. What about Better Call Saul? I haven't watched it.
Starting point is 01:05:06 You love Breaking Bad. Just get over the hump and watch it. I know. I should. Another one that you won't care about is the Outlander spin-off, Blood of My Blood. Nah, not for me. It's an Outlander prequel. The one that everyone's talking about, though, is the one with Florence Pugh in it, and it's on Netflix.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Claude? Have you seen that one? No, I never heard of it. I like her, though. East. Oh, it was filmed in Dunedin. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Mayor of East, no. No, not Mayor of East Town. Netflix. Florence Pugh. Hold on. What is it? It's like a westerny one, isn't it? East of Eden.
Starting point is 01:05:44 East of Eden, yeah. I think part of it was filmed in Dunedin. I think I'm right about that. No, you're right. Part of it definitely was filmed in New Zealand. Yeah, yeah. But everyone's raving about it. There you go, Danidon and Omeroo.
Starting point is 01:05:54 They filmed in. Apparently it's very good. Well, there you go. You're welcome, everybody. Have a great night. Fletch Flaw and Haley are back with the second to last case and we'll open the final deal or reveal case tomorrow at 4pm. Have a great night.
