Starting point is 00:02:45 Love that for you. You're taking on our tradies there from Wellington. He's 27 and him and his mates are massive Olivia Dean fans. Welcome to the show, Luke. Starting point is 00:03:11 The boys and massive KFC fans. What's cash money from KFC, actually. You can do whatever you want with it. Your buzzers, Trady. Anne-Marie, your lady. And the first person to three correct answers gets the prize. Good luck, guys. Question number one.

Starting point is 00:03:33 Question number two. What colour is a giraffe? Ralph's tongue. Trady. Lady. Luke. Blue. Blue, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Blue, purple. Purple, blackish. Yeah. Blue. We'll take it. Who sings this song? Anne-Marie, Ann Marie. Ann Marie.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Olivia Dean. Yeah. Luke's the Olivia Dean fan. Total Luke 1 to Emery. What is the capital of? Scotland. Lady. And Marie to level it up.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Edinburgh. Well done. Oh, okay. Oh my gosh, what a game. Who painted the Mona Lisa? Trady. Luke. Leonardo da Vinci.
Starting point is 00:04:22 She's done it. Very good, guys. That was a very good game. Anne-Marie, hard luck. Didn't quite get there, but you put in a bloody good effort to come back from 2-0 down. Thanks for their team. Great.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Is that the boy? in the back with Luke? Is that the boys in the background, Luke? Yep. Yeah, they're yelling. Z-D.M's Brie and Clint Podcast. Caitlin Marrett's here filling in for Brie. For one more day,
Starting point is 00:04:51 Bree's still off for another week or so with Baby. But I saw this today, and this clip reminded me of you. Because this is something I feel like you would have said when you used to work here at ZM. Okay. But not the new you. Oh, new and improved. Not the new and improved, Caitlin Marrick.
Starting point is 00:05:07 No, have a listen to this. I just want to go on record. as saying this. If you ever see me join a run club, there's no other explanation. That is a hostage situation. And I would love if you could act accordingly, contact the necessary authorities,
Starting point is 00:05:22 you know, follow their lead. I would just appreciate if you could act on kind of the seriousness of that situation. Do you know what though? This still accounts for me because I couldn't think of anything worse than a run club. Oh, really? Honestly, I get invited to run clubs all the time.
Starting point is 00:05:39 and I don't know how to tell people that I don't like people, but also I don't like running with people. Oh. So, because I listen to my book. How can I listen to my book if I'm, if I've got people gathering in my ear? Right, okay. I don't like a run club. So that actually still, that pertains to me too.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Because the new and improved, Caitlin, you guys might not know this, but she's training for an ultra marathon. Not a half marathon. Not a marathon. An ultra marathon. I know. 50Ks. At like the end of this month.
Starting point is 00:06:09 guys. So what's the new one? If you had to have a new one, what would it be? I'll drop you into it. Are you ready? Yeah. I just want to go on record as saying this. If you ever see me eating red meat.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Oh. You know that something's happened. Because I actually sometimes do it. And people come up to me and say, are you okay? And I usually say, no, I'm very drunk. It's because you've made too big a deal of telling people that you don't eat animals with eyelashes. I know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Yeah. But sometimes when I get really, like, so I've just been to Las Vegas. Yeah. And an Out Burger, not one, but double Patty. Double the eyelashes. After the battery place. Everyone has it though. Claudia, have you got one of these?
Starting point is 00:06:52 Sure do. Okay, here we go. I just want to go on record as saying this. If you ever see me doing a dance trend on the internet. Oh, that's good. That is a hostage situation. It's one of my core pillars. I will never.
Starting point is 00:07:05 You guys have asked me to so many times. And I'm like, it's the one thing I'm going to give you. a hard note. I think I've done two or three and they were all because of Brie. Yes. Like, Bree. It was literally, literally.
Starting point is 00:07:17 That is a hostage situation. Bree was forcing me to do it. You'd be so good at it though. Oh, thing. Maybe you should do one. Do one before I leave. Go on. Ella, what would it be for you?
Starting point is 00:07:29 You ready? Yeah. I just want to go on record as saying this. If you ever see me kicking a cat. Oh, well, no shit. Ella. That is a hostage situation. I don't know what to say.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Wait, do it again. I got another one. Okay, right. I just want to go on record as saying this. If you ever see me eating a steak and cheese pie. Oh, yeah. Okay, yeah. Oh, that's dumb.
Starting point is 00:07:49 I don't have one. I got one. I got one. We already know you're vegan. No, no, no. This is it. That's a thing. I just want to go on record as saying this.
Starting point is 00:07:57 If you ever see me doing a skydive. Yeah. That is a hostage situation. Really? Really? Yeah. You're actually strapped to someone as well. A bunch of hostage.
Starting point is 00:08:07 No, that's what I'm a hostage. was trying to go for. The Rainbow's End ride. What is it? The free fall. The fear fall? Fear fall. Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:08:14 It's so fun though. I don't know about that. If you guys ever see me, do you know those guys who stand outside all day and smoke meats? Why? They got three barbecues going. And they start first thing in the morning and they put their meat inside tinfoil. And then later on the day they're like,
Starting point is 00:08:32 I'm going to stick the moisture meter in it and check my meat. That is a hostage situation. That will be you when you're sick. I don't believe you. People send an alarm at 4 a.m. They get up. They get this big hunk of some animal. Do they go out and hunt for it?
Starting point is 00:08:48 No. It takes that long to smoke it. Really? And you've got to keep, like, got to keep, and they get so excited. They just froth it. I see that for you, Clint. I'm not writing that off yet. I know.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Unfortunately, it's a little bit close to home. And you're going to put your glasses on and get the little meat thing to see if the temperature's right. You'll just stick it in. I'll do my chicken sausages on the Weber and that all. do me, thank you very much. There is, Franklin. Shows brought you by KFC's Double Down. It's here for a limited time.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Shows also brought to you by desperate need to win Olivia Dean tickets, which we are feeling a lot of. We see you, we hear you, we feel you, we can see your text messages as well. We have one more double pass. One more. It's going to be given away before 5 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Okay, between 4 and 5 o'clock. So good luck, everyone. This is the tea. This shocked me to learn that you, Caitlin Marrett, were not a Gilmore Girl. I know, I'm a classic case of a Gilmore Girl watcher. I know that. You're a sitter for the Gilmore Girls. I have never seen an episode.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I only know the main girl because she was in the sisterhood of the travelling pants, which I've seen about six times. Rory. Yeah. The daughter. The daughter. Claudia, are you a Gilmore Girl? Yeah, I was a huge Gilmore Girl.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Okay, you might be excited about this. It's officially getting an HBO Max documentary to celebrate. 25 years of Gilmore Girls. Oh, I could do a documentary. You're into a documentary? I'm not much for like a sequel or that, like a, you know, reboot. Were you into the reboot? No, I tried.
Starting point is 00:10:15 I found it a bit flat. So it says that the doco is going to feature Lauren Graham, who's the mum. Laura Lai. It's going to feature the creators, which boring, who cares. And then it says other cast and crew. It doesn't say whether Rory will be in it. And it doesn't say if Melissa McCarthy from the 2020, one film Thunder Force will be in it.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Maybe she's too famous now. She could be. She was in the movie The Heat with Sandra Bullock and that's the full time. Yeah, yeah. Great movie. Were you into the reboot? Was it any good? And was Melissa McCarthy in the reboot?
Starting point is 00:10:50 I don't remember her being in it. And I remember trying to watch the reboot and just feeling a bit about it. Yeah. I don't feel like it was a hit. It wasn't what I wanted from it. It's for the 25th anniversary, by the way, if that makes you feel old. It really does. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Because I'm only 27. How does that work? I don't know. Well, to be fair, I think it went for like seven seasons. So you might have got on it late. Yeah, right at the end. Just after, yeah. Anyway, that's the tea.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Gilmore Girls doco on the way. ZD.N's Branclin. Caitlin Merritt's filling in it to last day. Oh. Oh. You know who's not sad? Your patience. Well.
Starting point is 00:11:29 They'll be so happy to see. Oh, she's back. Do you reckon I've been listening? Oh, God, I hope not. We went for a celebratory lunch today To say thank you and farewell to Caitlin And at lunch our producer Ella Revealed something about herself
Starting point is 00:11:45 Which could we have permission to talk about this As long as everyone listening promises to be nice Okay, we'll be nice She kind of just came out with it And we all sort of like it was normal And then we all sort of looked at her and we're like, really? Just so you know It made me think elderly thoughts
Starting point is 00:12:01 Yeah, I know That's all I'll say Okay well okay Tell us what's going on with you? You know, when you go to bed, you get your water, you get your PJs on, brush your teeth. Sometimes, all the time now, I have to put on Ryan's, my husband's running socks, because they're compression. And it's something like I cannot fall asleep now without these socks because my feet need to be squished. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Oh, so it's your feet, not your calves. Although he has compression tights and I've slept with them once. They're nice too. What is wrong? Have you always worn socks? Yeah, but I need them tight. How old are you? 25.
Starting point is 00:12:40 25 and you're already needing to sleep in compression socks. I know, it's silly. Don't you wear them for the plane? Oh, yeah, you do. And DVTs and blood clots and just really important medical things. Varicus veins? Are you running any varicous veins? Can you check?
Starting point is 00:12:54 Well, you know. I'll rip my feet off. It's healthy. There's nothing wrong with it. It's actually probably quite healthy for you. I actually think is probably really healthy. Okay. And you probably get some crazy health benefits.
Starting point is 00:13:03 it's circulation-wise out of it that we're not aware of. Yeah. But you know, it's not like sexy 25 climbing into bed behaviour. And they're not easy to take off. So if you and Ryan want to get down to it, you're leaving them on. My big toes gotten really strong and I just somehow put it in between the socks. That's how you know they're only up to their one year anniversary because she's still taking off her compression socks to do the Nudy Rudy.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Give it a couple of years. You won't bother. Terrible. I'm throwing stones from my glass house. And look, I'm not claiming to be as young as Ella. Right. But, you know, I'm not over the hill. But since I was Ella's age, I've been taking...
Starting point is 00:13:44 And I'm only going to say this, because if I don't say it, someone will text in or Bree will ring up and say it, I'm on bloody daily gout medication. Yeah, you told me this gout. Because I asked Clint the other day, I love asking people what medications they take, which is a personal question.
Starting point is 00:13:58 You have to, like, be picking two years. And then he's like, I'm on Ella Perronon. I was like, I beg him. You're part of it. I didn't ask you to give out my prescription. Oh, sorry, sorry. Well, that is the gout medication.
Starting point is 00:14:08 But, um, sorry, Clansson. And he takes this much. No. I'm taking myself off it. I've just gone. No, no, no, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yeah, I did. I took myself up. I don't know. I don't care. I said, I'm sick of being a young man on gout medication. That's not how it works. I'm just going to stop taking it.
Starting point is 00:14:31 That's not how it works if you need to take a It's not heart medication, okay? I'm not going to die from gout. You're going to get gout now, though? Is that on your feet? No, I'm cured. You're right? Gout is a state of mind, go.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I'm cured. Just wear crux when you're in Airbnb. None of this is medical. The question is, what's the thing about you that makes you elderly before your time? I have realised that I've started saying a few things that my mum and or my nanny used to say when she was here for crying out loud.
Starting point is 00:15:02 That's a bit old. For crying out loud, like something I'm inconvenient to you. Yeah, I'd be like, for crying out loud. For crying out loud. And then also, give me strength. Oh, for cripes sake. Heaven's forbid. It just makes me sound a little bit old.
Starting point is 00:15:18 And then so I follow it up quickly with bet and, um... Oh, swag. Swag. Sleigh. Sleigh Queen. What about six, seven? Riz, riz, ris. Six, seven.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Oh, 800 dials at M. This is a sharing time, okay? It's not a call for a. Olivia Dean time because that activator is later. This is a sharing time. And it's also a safe space. Ella asked for a safe space. This is a safe space.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Although you guys all bullied me from my gout medication. We won't judge anyone else. Just claim. What is the thing about you that makes you elderly before your time? Are you a 21-year-old on a sleep apnea machine? You know? Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:54 And you can share that with us. Their name's Brean Clint podcast. Kaylin's mad at me because her doctor friend heard that break and text in to say that. He clearly should keep going on it. The Yuric Asic buildup is going to be bad. No, I've done my own research. Oh, cool, bro. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:10 All good. Nah, sweet. That works. Stacey's here. Hi, Stacey. Hi, how are you? We're good. Tell us the thing that's making you elderly before your time, Stace.
Starting point is 00:16:19 My back. I've got the back of a 90-year-old woman. Oh, Stace. And how old are you, Stace? I'm 40. Oh, no, do you drop it quite hot in the clubs? Oh, yeah. When you were younger?
Starting point is 00:16:32 I wish it was just like that. Have you been diagnosed with bumping and grinding back? No, I wish it was that much fun. Yeah. Oh, wow. Only 50 years to go, Stace. Yeah, by then I might be in the ground. All crooked.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Special designed casket. Oh, Stacey. Get her a crooked casket. Thank you. Let's go to Anonymous. Hi, Anonymous. Hey. What's making you old before your time, Anonymous?
Starting point is 00:17:00 So I had a total hip replacement at 35. 35. Total. What did you do? So I had necrosis in my femoral head. So my bone had just started to like turn to sponge. That would have been gross to operate on. Sorry, no.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah, probably. I don't know. The best thing that I had. How's the new hips though? Good? Oh, amazing. Can you drop it in the club? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Yes, I can. Good girl. 35. How long will the hip last for? It depends on how long I, well, how I use it. It depends how low you drop out, doesn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Could last 15 years.
Starting point is 00:17:43 It could last 30. I think you should make it last 15. Go on and on. Thank you, anonymous. Bella May is here. Hi, Bella May. Oh, hello. Hi.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Hi. Hello, how are you? We're good. How old are you, Bella Mae? I'm freshly 18. Oh, you are a freshie. Okay. You wouldn't be feeling elderly yet.
Starting point is 00:18:06 No. What's the thing that's making you elderly before your time? Guys, so basically I went to like my favorite band. Like my favorite band in the city and I fell asleep before the main act. Like standing up. What? Like, I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:18:23 I go to these gigs all the time. Yeah. And I fall asleep standing up. Oh, Bella Mae. I go out for two couple of hours. Like I'll go out for two hours, maybe till Kmart run. Need a nap. Oh, you need a nap after that?
Starting point is 00:18:34 I'm a granny. Oh, Dole, I'm not a doctor, although I am diagnosing myself. I'm no doctor, but it sounds like there might be something going on here. Like... Get your eye and test. You're running some kind of iron deficiency? No, no, no, no, guys, guys. I've been doing this for three years now.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Oh, she just likes the next? No, I know. That doesn't make it better. You could have sleep apnea. I sleep pretty well. Okay. She just likes to have a nap. Do you drink tea?
Starting point is 00:19:03 No. That would have made the cranny on the top. Do you drink coffee? Sometimes not really. Yeah, right. Okay, I'm fascinated. I'm falling asleep standing up at a concert. I'm a more than Red Bull No Sugar Girl.
Starting point is 00:19:15 What was the last concert you fell asleep at? Oh, should I admit that? Yeah. I'd have to say it was Wears dry in the tuning fork. We's dry at the tuning fork. So you can't be old if you'd say bands that we haven't heard of. Oh my gosh They're small artist band
Starting point is 00:19:33 They definitely need more outreach Okay Okay Okay well maybe try Staying awake at one of their gigs And we'll start there I'll try I promise They are good
Starting point is 00:19:41 Okay thanks All right thanks Bella Mae We appreciate it One of these texts That's come through is from Ricky He says I feel this deeply Kids are two damn noises Noising
Starting point is 00:19:49 Get off my grass It's wet and they're gonna rip it up And Rick it Okay old man We said what makes you elderly Before your time Someone said I'm 30 And I've been on blood
Starting point is 00:19:59 blood pressure medication since I was 21 makes me feel ancient. Yeah, but how good is your blood pressure? Pauline is 32. Her Spotify age is 79. Wow. I get into bed at 8pm. I'm asleep before 8.30. I am bloody 29.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Hey, there is actually nothing better than going to bed early. Yeah, but you've got your 30s to do that. You know? I'm 20. My hip pops out all the time. Oh, that sucks. We used to give my friends so much crap about being old because she had regular chiropractic appointments for her back at 18.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Oh, maybe she's in a wonky back, you know? I knit with my nan, that's cute. That's cute. That's really cute. And it's kind of chic these days too. Yeah, missing, crocheting, cross-stitch. Which is why are you getting elderly before your time? Someone said the level of excitement that I get from household appliances.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Oh, I feel that. Oh, we feel that. I feel that. And then we see lots of messages coming through about high blood pressure around the Lavinne competition. So that's actually not on us. That's just, yeah. No, that's all on us. We're the ones doing that.
Starting point is 00:21:10 I know. There's 100% our fault. We shouldn't be getting people's blood pressure so high. Well, yeah. If you guys need some spare gout medication, I've got some. Oh, my God. The ZDM Podcast Network. Have you seen the new bra-doping trend that's happening?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Sorry, what? Bra-doping. And it is what it sounds like. It's bras, it's booby holders, ladies' bras. Yes. I'm not, yes, thank you. Yeah, yeah. For explaining a bra to me, Clint.
Starting point is 00:21:36 It's not like Shrachar bra. Oh, yes, right, okay. Like actual bras. Yeah, okay. Female cyclists in the Tour de France are being accused of padding their bras to make their chests appear larger. And it's not for aesthetic reasons. It's to create a more aerodynamic shape that reduces wind resistance in their time trials
Starting point is 00:21:58 so they go faster on their bike? Really? Who would have thought? Is that because... Wait, this might sound dumb. Do I say it? Yes. Is that because Wynn can go in between the bobbies?
Starting point is 00:22:11 Nah. How does it work? I don't know. I don't know either, but I don't think it's that. I think it's kind of like, it's just like the curvature thing. I don't know. I don't know particularly how it works. There was a big trend at the Winter Olympics,
Starting point is 00:22:22 which were last year, I think. where the skiers, you know the skiers that go down the super, super, super long ramp and then they launch off and then they fly those skiers? They found that the male athletes were stuffing their willy zone inside the ski suits. Willie zone?
Starting point is 00:22:43 Yeah, so it looked like they had a big donger. And it wasn't so that on the camera they had a big donger, it was for aerodynamic reasons too. What you think it would weigh you down? Well, this is the thing, because you get all the appearance of a big dona or big boobies, but none of the weight, because it's just stuffing. It could be tissue paper, it could be inflatables, it could be anything.
Starting point is 00:23:07 See, I purposefully take out the padding and the bras. Yeah. I don't know if anyone needs to know that. Just fun, quick fact about Caitlin. For performance reasons. Yes, makes me go faster in the life. No, it doesn't. No.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Just because it's uncomfortable and they're like padding, you know on. It's called chest faring, the breast one. Yeah. They say that it could reduce drag by 3.6% which is not nothing. It's crazy. It got me thinking you could do this for your ultramarathon. Padding in my boobes. You could do bra doping for the ultramarathon.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Right, okay. Because it would make me go faster. Apparently. Well, yeah, you know, I am. Reduce drag. Caitlin's going to run a 50K ultramarathon. And I'm hoping to come first actually, Clint. So that's why I need to make sure.
Starting point is 00:23:54 than I'm extra fast. Yeah. No. I mean, well, this is what we're talking about yesterday with my boyfriend that wears the half tights. Apparently it makes him go faster. Hey, good stuff for those too. Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Either way, whether you do it or not, and whether you win, whether it makes you go faster or not, at least in the Instagram pitches, people will go, damn. Damn. I'm going to go to her next marathon. Gross, guys. Gross. Gross. Gross. Grow up.
Starting point is 00:24:27 It's ZAM's Bree and Clint podcast. Are you the sort of person who has a little scroll to unwind? To relax? Absolutely. I even have a timer on my phone to tell me to get off my phone. Do you? That's proactive. I like that. No, but I shut it off. It pops up and it says one more minute or just turn me off for today and I might turn you off. I need my scroll. I installed the one on Instagram, the daily timer.
Starting point is 00:24:48 And so it says, hey, you've chosen to have two hours of a Instagram today and you have reached your limit, would you like 15 extra minutes? Yeah. One extra hour or ignore for two day. Yeah. Every time. Every time ignore for two day. You're like, oh my God, you just go in front of my video, get out. Yeah. And then I'm like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm getting this notification at breakfast. I'm doing really well today. This is bad news. If you're a scroll relaxer, which we all are. We talked about like when you go on holiday with your partner and you go and see all these sites and do all these active things. And then you go back to the hotel before dinner and you both have like 45 minutes where you lie on the bed and don't
Starting point is 00:25:26 talk to each other and just use the hotel Wi-Fi to scroll your phone. It's probably my favourite part. No, it's not. But you need it. It's like a little, it's just a little relaxed time. This is bad news. Researchers say that scrolling to relax after work or whatever may actually leave you feeling more stressed and more mentally drained.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Is it because you're watching, like you're overstimulated by all? all of the videos that you're saying. A little bit, a little bit. Sounds. They said the biggest reason is the infinite scroll. Because there is no end to TikTok, Instagram, whatever you use. It removes a natural stopping point that gives you like a satisfaction. You go, oh my God, that was great.
Starting point is 00:26:10 I gave myself 15 minutes and I finished Instagram. It's never going to happen, is it? They also said, even if you're watching funny or harmless content, your brain is constant? processing more information and it never switches into rest mode because it's always just like, okay, what are we looking at? What are we looking at? What are we looking at? And this is the other bit that I'd kind of thought about, but I'd never quite truly been able to put it in words. It said one of the worst parts is the emotional roller coaster of scrolling something like TikTok because one minute you'll be watching a funny reel and the next one you're seeing some really
Starting point is 00:26:47 upsetting news from shit you should care about or something like that. And then you flick over to a cooking video and then you're watching a video of a monkey stealing someone's hat you know, how is your body meant to? I've had that
Starting point is 00:27:00 where I've watched like a video and it's like a tribute someone has done to their father who passed away and I've gone through the album and I've read this beautiful message and I'm like, oh my gosh, that is heartbreaking.
Starting point is 00:27:12 I can't imagine if that sort of thing happened. I wonder how they're doing. I wonder how their siblings are feeling about this. Ha ha ha ha. Funny video from the inspired unemployed. You know? Yeah, it is really bad. And, you know, we should be reading books.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Well, this is that, that's when you're truly mature and that says that is what you should do. Yeah. I said, if you want to truly unwind, you need to do something with a clear beginning and end. Like, say, I'm going to read a chapter of my book. I'm going to go for a walk from here to here. I'm going to do this amount of stretching. I'm going to listen to this music. I'm going to chat to my friend Clint.
Starting point is 00:27:52 for 10 minutes. Because that's the thing you don't actually, like when you do that doom scrolling, like this morning, when you scroll, name one thing that you remember from saying. I can't. Exactly. None of it goes in.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Isn't that bad? Yes. But then it also gives you a little dopamine hit. It was bad this morning. We were having breakfast and my seven-year-old daughter, Tui, said to me, Dad, how come you're on your phone at breakfast time? Nauty, Dad. Oh, I felt awful.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Oh, that would have got you. And I said, shh. Now I have to watch this again. It's ZAM's Breinclin podcast. It's Olivia Dean Day on ZM. Hello, I'm Olivia Dean. Can be the mill.
Starting point is 00:28:36 ZM's Olivia Dean Ticket Blitz. Let's go. All day we've been getting you guys to try and get through for these Olivia Dean tickets. We've been doing our damned us to give us many of these tickets away as we can. These are the last tickets. The show is sold out.
Starting point is 00:28:52 and this is our last double pass. Caitlin's standing by with an enormous confetti cannon. That's me. You know how to use that thing? I don't know. I'm going to try. We're about to find out because the person scoring the last double pass is you, Georgia. Georgia!
Starting point is 00:29:14 George, congrats. God, thank you so. Have you been trying all day for this? Yes. trying like for months, like literally months. Oh my God. Girl. Did you try and get tickets when they went on sale?
Starting point is 00:29:36 Yes. Yes. I've literally, I've put my name on the wait list for tickets. Like, I've just been trying so hard. Oh, my God, I can't believe I got through. Like, I've been trying so much. You're going to make me cry. You're going to make Caitlin cry, Georgia.
Starting point is 00:29:50 That's so cool. How are you going to take? I'm going to take my best friend. We both love Olivia Dene. I just got out of like a 10. new relationships I've been listening to her like for the last six months like non-stop.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Least girl. What's the Olivia Dean song that got you through the hardest bit? Let alone the one you love. That's like my favourite. Georgia. Seriously stop. Can we play it for Georgia?
Starting point is 00:30:17 Can we play it? We'll play it straight after the news for you. Yeah, you have to. Yeah, you have to. Georgia, you're a very deserving winner. We are stoked for you. Oh my. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Thank you for listening. to ZM and trying your hardest to score these tickets. We'll see you at Spark Arena for Olivia Dean. She's losing it. We'll leave her to a private moment. That's okay. Oh, she won. The big announcement about ZDM's next big competition
Starting point is 00:31:00 is tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. with Fletch Vaughan and Haley. They're going to do that one. I actually can't breathe. Georgia, Georgia, before we put you on hold, I'm going to need you to take a breath, so I know you're okay. Oh.
Starting point is 00:31:12 You okay? Caitlin's a nurse. Oh, my God. I just did not. If you need CPR or something, we'll do it over the line. Do it over the phone. All right. We're back after this.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Play Z-EMS, Bree and Clint. Caitlin's here filling in for Bree while she's off on baby leave. But it's your last day. It's your last day. We're losing you back to Autotahi Crush Church. You're losing you back to the nursing profession. Yeah, I've had the best time. It's been a lovely break from Scrubs, but I'm ready to get back into it.
Starting point is 00:31:44 I've missed being on the floor. Okay. I do just before I go, though, have a story that I need to tell you that it doesn't make me sound that great, but it's kind of a funny story. And I kind of want to hear some other people's funny, nightmare of stories. Okay, sure. Okay. So this happened to me on night shift. Now, if you've ever done night shift, you're a dad, though, so I feel like potentially, and you used to be big raver, you know, big partier.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Yeah. And go out and stay out all night. I think that's what helped me get ready for night shift. Yeah, right. Okay. But it's hard. it's hard work and I do 8 hour night shifts every you know so often once month kind of thing and you have to go in and check on the patients right because that's part of your job
Starting point is 00:32:27 while they're asleep 100% yeah well yeah you've got to make sure that they're okay so um I just remember quite soon into my nursing career going and checking on this patient in the middle of the night and I just like to I like to be really quiet when I go in just to try not wake them up and startle them too much okay because it's someone coming in to The dark, dark room and... I freak out when I get working up. 100%. So I'm going and I'm going...
Starting point is 00:32:53 No idea what her name was. Let's call her... Carolyn. Carolyn. Carolyn. I'm just... I like to touch them on the foot or the leg, just like a little like tap or like, no, probably more like on the calf or something.
Starting point is 00:33:07 On the foot. Top of the foot. Top of the foot. Not under the foot left. No, I'm not taking to me. I'm just like touching her. I'm going Caroline, Caroline. I'm touching.
Starting point is 00:33:14 She's not waking up. And I'm going, Carol, and I did it. And I went and I looked over her. So you thought she was dead? No, well, I just was like, okay, now do I need to, like, you know, press the emergency, do I need some help in here? Do I need to? And I looked over her and she goes, she got this massive big fright and was awake.
Starting point is 00:33:33 But that's because I'd forgotten that she was paralyzed from the waist down. So that was one of those moments where you go. Okay. So anyway, I gave you a really big fright. And then we laughed about it. And then we moved on. You're like, can you feel your legs? It's like, no.
Starting point is 00:34:00 I felt so silly. But anyway. At least she wouldn't have known that you were touching her legs. No, I shouldn't. I was tickling her feet. I don't tickle feet. One, she couldn't feel her until she was asleep. So, you know.
Starting point is 00:34:14 But anyway, I'd love to hear from my fellow. No, nurses, healthcare professionals, physical professionals. We've done workplace nightmares before, but I really want to focus on on the nurses, and you're right, the healthcare professionals. Yeah, I'm sure there's some out there. If you're allowed to tell us, we would love to have it on here this afternoon. ZDM's Bree and Clint Podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Stephanie's here. Hi, Stephanie. Hi. Nurse, Stephanie. Not anymore. Okay. Okay, what was your nursing nightmare? And is it the reason you're not a nurse anymore?
Starting point is 00:34:52 No, I was a nursing student at the time, so I was 19. And I was looking after an older gentleman who had had a stroke. And it meant that he was paralyzed from the waist down and his arms were also paralyzed. Oh, no. Okay. So as the weeks went by, one morning I was helping him shower. and his Johnson started working again. Out of the blue? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Yep. Okay. And he tried very, very diligently with his semi-paralyzed arm to cover it up with a panel. Oh, Stephanie. He was progressively more embarrassed, and I went red. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Because you're only a trainee. I know you nurses are all incredible professionals, but if you're only an 18-year-old trainee, student, that's hard. I think that was the problem. I think that was... Yeah. Oh, Stephanie.
Starting point is 00:35:54 It was very awkward. Oh, bet. Yeah, we recovered. I was still a nurse several years after that. Okay, cool. Okay, cool. Glad it didn't end the job prematurely.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Yeah. Oh, that could be the wrong choice of word too. Okay. Thanks. We asked for your nursing nightmares and there are some incredible texts that have come in. Someone said,
Starting point is 00:36:13 I'm an ambulance officer And while assessing a male patient at home, I turned to his daughter and asked, Does your dad have a list of his prescription medications? She replied with, That's my husband. Oh, yeah. Always ask.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Never assume. Never, ever, ever assume. What about the school nurse whose student came in to say that he'd been sick in class? And she was all ready to send him home. but then he proceeded to pull out his lunchbox with the vomit in it, half open, stopping through his entire bag. He still wanted to eat his chicken rat.
Starting point is 00:36:51 No. You are special, you school nurses. Oh, man. And then you'd be like, oh, am I going to get that? Do I have the tummy bug now? Someone said, I love me. Because you said yours have been on a night shift. They said, I love me a night shift, but that's when the crazy in people comes out.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Is that true? Full moons. Full moons. Honestly, I can't explain it. I can not explain. What's the Canterbury one? The Northwester. Oh.
Starting point is 00:37:18 There's something about the direction that the wind blows in Canterbury and then everyone says that some people in Canterbury go crazy. Honestly, I can't explain. I don't know why, but yeah, the crazy. Not quite a nurse, but I'm a physio and I have had a few crackers. I said to a patient, isn't it a beautiful view from here? The mountain looks amazing. To which they replied, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:38 I'm blind. Oh, my God. Same person, they said, I said to an amputee the day after their surgery. Don't worry, we're not going to run a marathon. How does that even come up in conversation? Sometimes though, like you just, I don't know, things just cut like. It's like that Austin Powell's scene where he's like, don't say mole, don't say mole, don't say mole, don't say mole. Molly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly.
Starting point is 00:38:07 I've also gone to perform a mobility assessment on someone whose daughter said, you do realize that they've been bed bound for years, don't you? I... Your heart's in the right place, though. No, I know. And just sometimes, I mean, actually, I really want to read this text out because it's kind of sums nursing and stuff up for us. Unfortunately, after 30 years of nursing,
Starting point is 00:38:29 I can safely say even though we have to put up with verbal and sometimes physical, we don't get paid enough. And most of us would not choose another profession. The fun and laughter we have with our nursing colleagues makes up for it. And I definitely, yeah, I definitely agree with that. There's a beautiful message. It's an important sentiment, but pay nurses more. Yes, me.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah. I think that's what you're saying. Z-Drenclint. Olivia Dean Day is done. Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Fletchborn and Haley announced ZM's next big thing. Brinclin. All I want to my birthday to the birthday banger.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Right now, though, let's do three birthday bangers. The number one song, the day that you turned 16. and Jane is going to go first. Hi, Jane. Hi. How's your day been, Jane? Not bad, thank you. How's yours?
Starting point is 00:39:19 Yeah, not bad either, thanks. Yeah, pretty good, actually, yeah. What's your day to birth, Jane? Let's do your birthday banger. It's the 19th of January 2005. Okay. You were 16 on the 19th of January 2021. And on your birthday, Jane, this was the number one song.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Olivia Rodriguez driver's license. Are you a fan, Jane? Yeah, I quite like your music. Yeah, same. 131. Yeah. This is such a great song. I can believe it's a song.
Starting point is 00:39:57 I know. This is in my top five pop songs of the decade. Wow. Yeah. You said forever, now I drive alone past your street. And that's not even the best bit. Okay, wait there, Jane. Let's do Regan's birthday banger.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Hi, Regan. Yeah, good-o. Ooh. Sorry, for some reason I thought you might have been a woman. Yeah, me too. I was expecting a lady. voice, Regan. Sorry, Regan.
Starting point is 00:40:19 And then... Hey, Regan. How's it going? I only could have been better if Regan went, Oh, I am a lady. Regan the manly man. What's your day to birth? What's your day to birth, Regan?
Starting point is 00:40:36 17th of August, 2000. Good man. All right, you... I really like Regan. It just goes with that. He's had a few words. 16 and 2016. Here's your birthday banger.
Starting point is 00:40:54 2016 banger! What do you reckon, Regs? Do you like it? Yeah, good. Do you like being called Riggs? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good, good, good, good. He's just got a voice of a man much older than 26, too, doesn't he?
Starting point is 00:41:12 I really like it. You should do some ads. Come in, we'll put you on the air. Perfect. Perfect. Too bloody right, I will. One more for Jamie. Hi, Jamie. Hello.
Starting point is 00:41:22 We promise not to make fun of your voice, okay? That was mean of us before. I know. You've got a nice voice, Jamie. Thank you. For radio? Yeah. Go on, come on in.
Starting point is 00:41:31 We'll put everyone on. Everyone gets gone here. Can you say hits and throwbacks on ZM? Hits and throwbacks on ZM. Pretty good. That was perfect. Can we get that from Regan as well? Hits and throwbacks on Zem.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Jeez, that's good. That was nice. Okay, wait there. Where's Jamie this year? What's your date of birth, Jamie? The 31st of March 1996. Very good. You were 16 on the 31st of March 2012, and on your 16th birthday, Jamie, this was the number one song. I'm Carly Ray.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Probably Carly Ray Jepson's best song. Does she hear any other ones? What do you reckon, Jamie? Well, it's probably the most iconic song of my 16th, yeah? Yeah, okay. Is there a story behind that, or? I just think it was everywhere, wasn't it? Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Okay, yeah, very good. Wait there, we're going to choose between Major Laser, Olivia Rodriguez and Carly Ray. Hands down Carly Ray. Really? Mm-hmm. I love it. Oh.
Starting point is 00:42:47 I'm voting for Major Laser. Boo. Which means we have to go to Claudia. Who looks aghast, which means Claudia has a strong opinion, too. Claudia. I just thought you were hyping up driver's license so much. I thought you were going to vote. for that. So I was just surprised you went that way.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Yeah, I was, are you right about that? Yeah. And nothing personal. I just want to see how excited Caitlin gets. I'm going to want to work for Carly Ray. Yeah, Jamie. Jamie, you won birthday banger. Well done. Thank you. Who. It is.
Starting point is 00:43:16 It is. Well, don't ask me, I'll never tell. ZD.N's Branklin. Carly Ray is the winner of birthday banger today for Jamie. It was number one in 2012. Was it everything you hoped it would be? I think we're all winners today. Clint.
Starting point is 00:43:32 Woo! That was good. I'm buffed. This is the person who runs long distances to audio books. Why don't you run to, the way you were hyped up there, why don't you run to 2010's pop music? I bring them in when I'm in the depths. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:43:50 So like I'll have Justin Bieber say, never say never. And then I, and then I get ramped up and then I can run again. And then I can run another 20K, you know? What about when you hear Shania Twango, let's go, go, go. else. Let's go. Yeah, I'm excited now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Dead Ames, Brian Clint, podcast. I want to know if you've thrown something away by accident before. Because this story today is out the gate. It's probably the worst version of it of throwing something away by accident. Oh, unless you throw away Nan's ashes or something. I thought you were going to say, like, a child.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Oh, that's pretty bad too. Okay, all right, there's always worse examples. There is always worse, but this is, yeah. There's a lady in the news today from Italy who threw away a winning lotto ticket. Yeah. It was a one million euro winning ticket. So you do the math.
Starting point is 00:44:38 How many dollars is that? Two million? Two or three? Yeah, isn't it? Two million? Yeah, they're in the bin. So hang on, sorry. Excuse my ignorance with lotto because I've never bought a ticket before.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Have you not? No. Oh my God. I know. I'm the opposite of me. I just don't know. I've never not bought a ticket. Yeah, it freaks me out, so I just don't do it.
Starting point is 00:44:58 And we're both won lotto the same amount of times. So isn't there like some kind of like recording of it? No, no, that's the crazy thing. If you buy a paper ticket, you have to have the paper ticket. They won't accept a photo. What about a receipt? They won't accept a receipt. You have to have the ticket.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Crazy, eh? That just seems really back, like behind the time. So that's why the app exists. So you can buy it on the app. Anyway, she had the ticket. She took it into the Italian lotto store. they have those little scanners. You can scan your ticket and it tells you if you're a winner.
Starting point is 00:45:32 She scanned it and it said on the screen not payable, which she assumed as everybody would assume it was a non-winning ticket, right? You see non-payable, you go, oh, no price. You see the word no and you think, okay, no price. What it actually meant was the prize is so big that this store can't pay it out. Yeah. But she didn't know that and she threw the ticket in the bin and then she went home and her family said,
Starting point is 00:45:59 oh my God, we won Lotto because they play the same numbers every week and they saw that the numbers had come up and she went, what do you mean we won Lotto? I just scanned the ticket. And they were like, it was a winning ticket and she'd thrown it in the bin. Did she go back and sought through the bin?
Starting point is 00:46:16 She went back. The bins had been emptied and collected by the local rubbish trucks. She called the council or whoever does the rubbish trucks. She jumped in the rubbish trucks. She said to them, I think my million dollar lotto ticket is in the truck. They managed to locate the truck that had been to that store to empty the bins.
Starting point is 00:46:37 And they found that it hadn't gone to the dump yet. So they diverted the truck to a separate facility. And these waste management workers went through the contents of the truck by hand. The entire rubbish truck of contents took them two days and they found her lotto ticket. No. Can you believe it? They better have got some of that money. She had to pay for the sorting, obviously.
Starting point is 00:47:02 She had to pay for that. Yeah, and some. That's really good from them. And then, yeah, you'd expect at least a Griffin sampler or something. A Griffin sampler. From the lady to say thanks for going through all that rubbish to find my box of favourites. Yes, a new pair of gloves. You know, for their...
Starting point is 00:47:18 Anyway, happy ending. Happy ending, I guess. Very much so. Like, close call. The Z-M Podcast Network. This is the password. We're playing for a chemist warehouse price pack, and you just have to guess the password.
Starting point is 00:47:32 Sonia, you're going to work with me to guess the password. How are you doing? Perfect. Hello, I'm good. Very good. Very good. And Grace, you're going to work with Caitlin. Yeah, cool.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Awesome. Hello, saving Grace. You are going to help me, and we're going to win. You're all going to be saving Grace. I'm going to be saving Grace from torture of listening to me. Say words. Too many bad clues. Yeah, I'm going to do my best too.
Starting point is 00:47:57 Courtney, can we please see today's passwords? Oh. Okay. Cordia's gone. Hard. Yeah. How's... No, I've got money.
Starting point is 00:48:12 I'll go first. Okay, you go for yours. Okay, Grace? Yeah. Embarrassed. Blush. Oh, my God. Stammy!
Starting point is 00:48:23 Oh, my God. Stom him! Sonia, we got one shot at this, okay? That's okay. Bring it off. Oh man, it's going to be a swing for the fences. Okay. If you get it, this will be all time.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Okay. No pressure. Can I make it any narrower? No, we're just going to go for it. We're going to hope for the miracle. Okay, Sonia? Yeah. Flower.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Perfume? No, sorry. Yeah, that would have been like you guys reading each other's minds. Yeah, it was going to have to be, Sonia. Maybe, Grace might know. Grace, can you guess my one from flower? Oh, petal. No.
Starting point is 00:49:12 It's impossible to get it off that one. It was tulip. Of course, yeah, naturally. Naturally. Shut up, Grace. Wait, Chris, what? Don't tell him to shut up. Sorry, so you're not today.
Starting point is 00:49:25 That's okay. Congratulations, Grace. Oh. Oh, thank you for much. Grace, well done. We're going to send you out a chemist warehouse price pack. Thank you. You're very welcome.
