Vaughan, would you like to set the scene?

Okay, so we had a dinner. It was the start of this year. We had a dinner at my house. Look at that meat. Oh, delicious. A fantastic dinner. Oh, yeah. Hayley and Aaron came, Fletch and our friend James came.

And Sharae does this thing when she's getting to know people, she'll nervously drink too much. It's a coping mechanism. I could see it coming and I was like, oh, and dinner hadn't been served. That's another thing. There wasn't enough eating before the drinking started. And I sound like a dad every time she's going out

or with her friends. I'm like, hey, remember to eat. I say that. She went spaghet. She's like, okay, dad. I'm like, can you please remember to eat? Because we've got something to do tomorrow. There's only so many Uber soilage fees that you can be paying.

Really ruining the rating. Yep. And so you guys came over for dinner. And then when dinner was served, I just dragged out the plates. And you guys were immediately like, oh, I can't believe you're going to serve dinner to me on a chipped plate. Because we've had these plates forever. As a joke. Like, we don't care.

I couldn't give two shits, but we made this joke like, oh, my God, I can't believe the Smiths are giving us a chipped plate. And I was like, I laughed. I knew it. But I looked across and Sade was, like, mortified. And she was like, do I get down grandma's plates? To me, I was like, fuck no. Grandma's plates are a hand wash.

Like grandma's, these plates that she inherited. We've got grandma's plates, Christmas plates. Oh my gosh. She inherited them from, they are beautiful plates. They would have cost a fortune. I think her grandmother got them as like a wedding gift or something. They've been in the family for a long time. I'm like, we're not getting into grandma's plates for these fucking hairies.

And then like you guys, and it's classic because i'll do the same thing you see a reaction and you feed off it yeah it was like a drop of blood in an in the ocean and we were the sharks seeing that that these mangi plates with chips in them yeah we're a real issue for sharday and of course we didn't care and so she got more wound up about it. And then she started drinking to kind of like as a coping mechanism. Yeah. And then it got worse. Then she got more paranoid.

And then. We just wouldn't let up. We just kept saying like, oh, my God, Vaughn, this meat is so delicious. It's such a shame. It's such a shame about these plates. What about the. I just can't concentrate I think I just nicked my finger on the chip in the plate

Yeah There was a lot of this There was a lot of this And of course it was just getting funnier and funnier The more we all drank I know You say that Sade was drinking Aaron was driving

I was drinking too It just got funnier and funnier There was a night that I chunnyed on the deck. I had to wake up for a chunny. I had to pull that deck down entirely. And so yeah, it's still every now and then when we're out, she'll be like, oh, a new set of dinnerware would be nice.

The last set's so chipped. And then you can just see in her eye when you've had a bit of trauma. She's taken back to the moment of when because she's very house proud She hates people coming around unannounced In case the house isn't tidy Which it's always tidy

I think that's why the plates were so funny Because everything else was so perfect Perfect Yeah The food was perfect The salads were bougie Like everything was amazing Yeah

When we went to Costco there was a And that's the other thing is Like she's so fussy in particular About what plates could possibly replace those plates. Right. And she saw some once. I was like, are you kidding me? That costs a fortune.

Oh, God, no. Ours are from Kmart. Yeah. And they rule. Oh, exactly. You break it, you're like, oh, there's $3 down the drain. There was a set at Costco. Yeah.

And she was like, oh, they're okay. I'm like, you're second guessing it because they're from Costco. Yeah. And she's like, oh, they're okay. I'm like, you're second guessing it because they're from Costco. Yeah. And she's like, oh, maybe a little bit. And she knows that we'll flip them over the bottom. Oh, these ones aren't chipped. They're from Costco, though. Oh, the budgetary queens are carrying on a poor choice in dinnerware.

Shivers, guys. 10 out of 10 podcast, that one. Yeah. I think two of us were 10 out of 10 and one of us wasn't. Well, who was that? Which one? We'll just leave that. We'll just leave that there.
