Oh yeah, we try to do that every now and then.

Yeah. Favourite things from the day or three things you did today. Yeah, favourite moment, low light, high light. And I tend to do it with my family and friends towards the end of the year, which it now is. The year is done. Yeah. Over, done and dusted.

Thought we could take a small moment to reflect back on some of the highlights of our years. Do we need some reflection music? Oh, yeah, like something you'd get at a Thai massage. Yes, a little bit of like... Piano through a forest. Yeah, but it's also a top 40 song, but they're not paying for the royalty. Yes, that's good stuff.

Something like that. Music for reflection playlist? Yeah, perfect. Music for reflection. See, I could have had a future as a performance pianist doing reflective music. Oh, I did not expect the horns. It sounded a bit like the Mandalorian.

That's beautiful, isn't it? Oh, cymbal! Okay, first point of reflection. Best night out this year. Wiggles. Wiggles, yeah. Wiggles! That was so good.

My father Wiggles! I can't even think of another night out I've had. Certainly none have ever come close. We went out on Friday Jams. You did love Cher that time. Yeah, but that was years ago. I know. Yeah.

But I tell you what, I've never, and I've said this many times, I've never seen Vaughan so happy in his entire life. Disneyland at night was pretty rad. That was a good night out. Okay, I'll add this in then. Best trip of the year. Oh, well, there hasn't been many, but yeah, Disneyland. Disneyland was you?

Wow, this music's insane. Oh, you're going to say, here we go. You just wanted to crowbar it. Now, I don't know if we have mentioned to the podcast listeners that I went to Bali.

That's your? That's my trip of the year. I mean, I did lots of sort of like little getaways and stuff. Went to Coromandel and down to Wellington. All right, what about the weekend you spent in Christchurch meeting the wheat farmers and stuff and you got to fiddle about in some tractors and for ploughmen. Yeah, that was good. That was heartwarming.

Fiddling around in some tractors and some combine harvests. That was heartwarming. But they didn't rub me and pour me a cocktail. Yeah, it's the only thing that split Canterbury with barley. Probably a couple of questions of Doug from Ashbur's pouring your cocktail and giving you a rub. What are you supposed to be showing this week? Good boy, Doug.

Those hard farmer's hands. Oh, Alice. They exfoliate you. Fletch, your trip of the year? It'd be probably Melbourne because I got to catch up with friends I hadn't seen for a while.

Was that the one I came with you on for the first night? Yes, we started out, didn't we? That was fun. Proud of us, actually. We went to bed when it was time.

This is it. We're reflecting. Yes. Okay, meal. I'm going to put this on a loop. Beautiful. Meal of the year. Oh. What's the best thing you ate this year? Because we've had a few lunches at our favourite restaurant, haven't we? We certainly have. Gotta say

Lucky 8, we went out as a team as well. Oh, that was a great meal. Yeah. Lots of little things. I've got to say, I had a bloody cracking meal at the Cheesecake Factory. What? Or P.F. Chang's.

That was pretty good. I'd never been to a P.F. Chang's before when I was in LA. Did you do Panda Express? No, there wasn't one nearby. But I think on, Shade and I went away in November for our anniversary. We had a lovely meal. Lovely, fancy meal.

Oh, yeah. I had a voucher for a fancy place that we went to. Because I don't eat fancy often. And I often leave hungry. But it was really nice. Had a real good steak. Yeah, okay. Probably a steak would be the best meal I ate.

What about your favourite of the year? Your favourite sore, getting old injury? Well, I've had my nerve pain all year. I've had my back. I hurt my back in January and it's been everly present the whole year. What's your favourite pain this year? It's my major pain. My major pain.

Bad back. Bad back. Tingly nerve pain that's been around for 11 months. What's your pain? Well, yeah, I've got the back thing. You've got long COVID this year. Yeah, lots of long COVID times two. The sort of Strippy throat infection Oh that's right Yeah that hurt man But then when you got COVID Every time I swallowed You had to drive back from Palmerston North all by yourself when you got COVID. That was fucked.

That was like, how much was that car rental too? I think because it was a one way. It's $1,000 to rent a car from Palmerston North to Auckland. Because no one's ever going back to Palmerston, are they? It's like that car's out of Palmerston now.

It's going to cost them a fortune to get it back. It was like three hours onto the road, which is a record for me, that I went, where do I piss? Like, where do I go to the toilet? With COVID. Yeah, I needed to peep sand poops. And I was like, you can't go inside anywhere. I was like day two COVID.

I was so sick. You were like squatting on the side of the road. I was squatting on the side of the road. I didn't poop on the side of the road by the way I just did weights So that was probably best sickness trip I think it was the cold I got after COVID was my, because I had COVID

and it was bad, it was horrible It was bad but I was like oh okay people have had it so much worse and then like two weeks later I got a cold that was way worse Fucking worse I just felt like an absolute warmed up pile of shit. Yeah. Okay.

Worst moment of the year. Oh, like on a whole. Yeah. For the whole world. No, no, no, no. How did I pass Ukraine? No, I'm thinking more selfishly. Ukraine, I reckon across the board.

I would go it's the day I received the bill from my builder for the extension. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. That's a big bit. Probably when I cleaned out my medicine drawer and I had to chuck, I'd say, half of it away the expiry date. So it was horrible.

No, but you gave me some hydrocortisone and it cleared me right up. That's expired though. I had a butt rash. And you gave me those stiffy pills and I've been erect since September. I've seen it every morning since. Every morning. I can't get my eye off it. Yeah, that's why I just wore jeans all year.

There's no shorts that can contain this absolute rager. I told you not to take that many at once and now you've got a permanent erection. It's like Oblux falling in the magic juice. A friend of mine made an Asterix Oblux reference this week. Shit, I loved it. It really aged us, but I really enjoyed it. Worst moment? Oh, I don't know.

I mean, your wife didn't want you to go to Disneyland, and then you went to Disneyland and you came home and brought COVID and gave it to her. Yeah, she was very good about that. She was good about it. Didn't bring us back white M&M's though, did he? Which was my only request. No, he tried. You were sending us messages saying you&M's though, did he? Which was my only request. I don't know if I have. My 1960s Sputnik vintage light. You know the one with all the balls? Oh, yeah. That's so cool. I screamed when I found it and bought it. That's the best. Yeah, I don't know. I'm not materialistic like you two. Oh my god!

Here we go! Oh my god. I guess it's just all the memories I brought with my friends. I guess the real treasure was the memories I made along the way. Yeah, thank you. The real best thing I bought was the friendships. You don't buy friendships, do you? You kind of earn them or whatever. Y you. The real best thing I bought was the Friendships. Yuck. What about that Prosecco special we got near the end of last year? That was pretty good. Actually. Like, that price per bottle was the best since the pandemic. Your booze cart, though, is about to – we need to go make a dent in that thing. That, yeah. It disgusts me how well stocks do this.
