Starting point is 00:00:00 from the ZM Podcast Network. This is... Fleshwin and Haley's Big Pod. Thanks to animates. Making happy happen for pets. Good morning. Welcome to the show. Fletch Fawn and Haley.
Starting point is 00:00:11 The top six coming up, Vaughn. Sent on the streets a filial fish car. Sorry? I know. A car? This weekend, I'll say tomorrow's giving big. Filaif you're going to have a filial fish. A little midnight filet of fish.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Yeah. Oh, you've got a birthday. Don't we've got a birthday tomorrow afternoon. Early dinner. Yep. And so it's giving a late snack. Well, there's a car that looks like a filial fish, and I've got the top six Macca's menu items
Starting point is 00:00:38 that deserve to be a car before the filial fish. Because you know. Not a lot of love here for the filial. Good stuff. How do they get the wheels under the bun? Wait, wait, show me, show me. It's a whole thing. It's been around for ages.
Starting point is 00:00:54 It has, yeah. And it's just resurfaced. Like, someone had it in a shed, and they were like, oh, it should take the filial fish. for a home. I'm shopping for a new car at the moment. I say... This would be the best thing.
Starting point is 00:01:05 I don't think it would fit in the work car park. I don't think it'd be hybrid or electric, which is what you're after. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Damn it. Well, we'll deal with that in the top six soon. But if you're on birth control
Starting point is 00:01:16 and you do wheeze in a toilet, you might be causing a huge problem for fish. Wow. The Fletchborn and Haley, Big Pod. I'm loving... I'm loving to getting to do a little bit of a hyper-focused deep dive on how human medication is affecting fish in the wild. Wow, I didn't even think about them.
Starting point is 00:01:39 The fish. My medication impacting their quality of life. Well, it all ends up in like the wastewater treatment plants and then it gets treated and then it gets put back into the system. But it gets treated like it takes all the poos and toilet paper out. It takes all the poos and like bad bacteria and pathogens and like living things out of it. But the medication and it isn't a living fight. It's just a medication. And it's not just sad, it's all the illicit drug use.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Yeah, they're high on, because meth numbers went up, right? And that's how they tested it as the fish. And how, like, pinging off the bloody crox there. I could see anything about, like, drugs for fish. Right. Like, what do you call them? Recreational drugs. Because technically medication is drugs, but it's prescribed drugs.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Well, researchers added synthetic estrogen, which is found in birth control pills, to a lake in Canada. Three times a week, over three open water seeds. So similar to what it ends up like in rivers and lakes around the world from women taking birth control and then wheezing and then it goes through the thing and then it gets put back into the water system and they were like it will make our expectation is the estrogen will calm down the males. Oh really? Knock a bit of testosterone down and give a bit of balance. Yeah. What happened?
Starting point is 00:02:52 It's completely the opposite. They get agro. Yeah, they got agro. So, so more. More fish, males, feminized males and possibly female fish were crowding around the nest. And so the males became more territorial
Starting point is 00:03:08 because they're like, there's more people come and look. Get away, get away, get away, my nest, my nest, my nest. So air counts dropped early on. And they were like, well, that's also the opposite of what we expected to happen. Right. Because it's estrogen. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:22 So they, what they expected to happen was for everyone to be chill when they gave them hormonal birth control. They weren't trying to like boost numbers, but they were just like, We're just going to test. We're going to curious. Yeah. But what happened is that they became very territorial.
Starting point is 00:03:34 They became very aggressive. Yep. And the woman went wandering, so they were laying less eggs at home. So the population like plumbus. Because we were like, leave me alone. I don't want to be near you right now. Yeah. I'm on hormonal birth control.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Had a complete personality shift. Yeah. Don't touch me. Don't look at me. So. Don't impregnate me. Certainly don't. Well, no, because they lay the eggs and then they get fertilised, don't they?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Yeah. So I was like, what other drugs are we taking that are making their ways into the waterway that is affecting. that is affecting fish, antidepressants. This is the most studied one. So much of it gets through your system, unused and then gets into waste...
Starting point is 00:04:08 And gets wheezed out. And gets wheezed out. Wow. So the male fish that were exposed to antidepressants like Prozac and another one with... The village is the pams, the prams. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:21 And sort of the ones that if you spout and scrabble, instantaneous with... Especially on triple word. You know, if you had a triple word and a triple letter and, you know, especially you've had a Z in it. Yeah, yeah. They've got X's and G's and all the ones.
Starting point is 00:04:32 So the ones on antidepressants, the male fish, spent more time pursuing females for sex. So antidepressants made them hornyer. Famously not a side effect of antidepressants. No. It stopped cuddlefish being able to change colour, which is what they need for their... I'm not going to say they stopped cuddling.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Oh, that would be sad. Cattle. Cattle. With a tea. Oh, cuddle. Well, maybe a nunciate better. Well, because sometimes when you're on antidepressants, you do need a little more cuddles.
Starting point is 00:04:58 A little bit more cuddle, but a... again, you don't feel like it can kill the sex drive, can't it? You want cuddles, but don't even put a penis near me. The anti-anxiety drugs, those are your benzos and your, yeah. Look at her, she's lamomomomnose. So we've talked about this. They basically went places they didn't usually go. They usually stayed in the shallows away from the predators,
Starting point is 00:05:19 but they were just like, what are we going to worry about, man? Let's go over here today. Swim over here, man, I was not going to go over there. What kept me here? I reckon today I could take on a shark, let's go. So they were way more risk-taking and they swam into parts of the lakes they didn't usually do. Sleep medication. Oh yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:38 What's that doing to the fish? Well, they expected the wild Atlantic salmon. They got into it. My favourite salmon are from Yemen, personally. Personally, fishing for salmon in the Yemen, yeah. So it actually made, you would expect that they would be a sleepier. Yes. It didn't.
Starting point is 00:05:57 It had the opposite effect. So fish are not a very reliable sort of test subject for human medication. Not that we're testing on them. On fish, we don't test on fish. They're just getting our secondhand piss meds. They're getting our delicious pussy mints.
Starting point is 00:06:11 They're getting our delicious pussy meds. The sleep medication made the salmon quicker at migrating and easier to be like, oh, there's a hydrodium will go around it. And like how they got around it and stuff it cut down the time. They go around to hydrodium. They get out and walk.
Starting point is 00:06:23 No, they make those things that go around them. For the fish. The fish bypass. I've never seen a fish bypass. I've never seen a little fish bypass. I've seen a cow and sheep ones, you know, they go under the road. Yeah, I've seen those. Yep, yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I haven't seen a fish bypass. No, you should look up the fish bypass. And they do the ones up, because they have to go back up the stream. Obviously, they have these like ladder, like, set of conveyabouts. They have little convey about. They're full of water and they jump up. Internet structure that lets migratory fish safely navigate around river barriers like dams and the likes. Well, aren't we learning?
Starting point is 00:06:56 What's the, um, So do we stop? Do we stop taking meds for the fish? Is that what you're telling us? Or are they having a better time? Because they're being one and free. Some are having a better time. Some aren't having a good time.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Basically, they are. It's a reflection of us, you know? Yeah, well, that's why we're taking the meds. I just said, what about illicit drugs? Czech researchers led by Parval Horki put 40 brown trout in water containing methamphetamine at levels actually found in European rivers for eight weeks. So they like it? And they moved them to clean water.
Starting point is 00:07:25 When given the choice between drugged and clean water afterwards, The trout always picked the meth-laced water. Yeah, because they were addicted. They were addicted. They were addicted. They were noticeably less active than other trout. Do you think methfish is the cheaper fish to get battered at the cum fisheries? You know what, one scoop of fish, a hot dog.
Starting point is 00:07:43 What do you like, your prawn sticks? No, crab sticks. Crabs sticks. Yep, yeah. And just one beautiful battered methfish place. Cocaine makes eels hyperactive. Their jaws. You know how eels smile?
Starting point is 00:07:55 They're like, er-d-r-r-h-h. eyes already look freaky. The eyes are already freaking out. The ZRAM podcast network. So this is out of South Korea, which this is terrible. Stalking reports in South Korea have tripled since a stalking,
Starting point is 00:08:12 a stalking law was introduced in 2021. So they're just being like reported more? Yeah. Or since that law has started this? I'm not sure. Roughly 80% of victims are women, which I feel like it's like, of course, not surprising. So around 44,687 stalking cases
Starting point is 00:08:34 between 2021 and 2026. That's a lot of stalking. And that's reported stalking. That's like you think it's dangerous enough or big enough. You guys are wearing the same coloured T-shirt. God, that just threw me. It's like you both... No, but you're in this little light blue
Starting point is 00:08:51 and you've got your little light blue thing. Really threw me. We're talking about stalking. Be serious focus. God's sake. Didn't you say you just taking your ADHD medication? I just took some pills. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:00 So. Do they take 20 minutes? They have a bit of a lay. Oh, yeah, a bit of layer. See me at 7, I'll be sparking. Okay, great. So about 45,000 cases, right? This is terrible, terrible staff.
Starting point is 00:09:10 This is all reported. And then like New Zealand, South Korea, we talked to Jazz Thornton about this. We didn't have very good stalking laws. No. Terrible. And you can be reporting stalking for a long time, and it's kind of like, we can't do anything.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Yeah. You know? But that's been changed. Same with South Korea. So since last month, South Korea have created this new app. So if you are a survivor of stalking and your stalker has been caught, like you've reported it and they've been caught, they are then given like an ankle monitor, an Anki Mon,
Starting point is 00:09:43 and you then have an app and you have the power to track them. Okay, so you can see where they are and if they're anywhere near you or where you're going to go coincidentally they might be because I'm imagining seeing someone that has put you in a victim status. Totally. So you can, they'll send you alerts if they come within the, what's the word, not prescribed distance, but within the distance that they're allowed to be near you,
Starting point is 00:10:12 depending on how bad, I guess, the stalking is. You get alerted or you can just like find my friends. Like, we always use find my friends. Where's Dr. Shawnee? Where are you? Or how far away are you? but you just have your stalker on there. I guess there's an added sense of safety.
Starting point is 00:10:28 But then is it making it worse? Because you're worried about where this guy is and now you can check. And even though he is far away, you're still going to be, like is it still going to mess with you? Yeah, maybe, but I guess you could opt out. Yeah, I guess you can.
Starting point is 00:10:45 You could say I don't want to know and go, I hope that the law is doing its part so that I don't have to worry about that anymore. But maybe for some people it would just be a little... A good thing, yeah. Like you say, I'm going to go to the supermarket, feeling a little bit off. Just going to make sure.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Especially if you lived in a small place where there is only one supermarket. Totally. One thing, and you don't want to run into them. So previous things that are used to try with, like, reoccurring stalking and they've been caught, was they'd give victims,
Starting point is 00:11:17 which again, it kind of makes the victim's problem, a watch. Yeah. And like a medical alert thing, if they felt in danger or saw them, they could push it. But that's kind of retrospective. You know what I mean? It's kind of like reactive, sorry, to seeing them. Whereas this, you could be getting ahead and make sure that they were never near you.
Starting point is 00:11:35 So, yeah, there is, like, there's discord about the fact that it is shifting the burden back onto the victim still. Yeah, yeah. But I don't know. I mean, if the options are and you want it, I guess it's a good thing. Yeah, yeah. So this is, I don't know if it's something that's going to be rolled out worldwide, but. Yeah, South Korea's doing it. The Fletch morning, Haley, big pod.
Starting point is 00:11:55 From the unmoderated comment section, this is the Top Six. Today's top six is the top six are Macas menu items that deserve their own vehicle before the Phillyo fish did. It's a low down the list burger. It is. It's a low down the list. It should be nobody's primary burger, Hayley. No, not a primary burger. Acceptable as a secondary, but I mean, if you've got a cheesy bee or a cordy pee,
Starting point is 00:12:18 I would go filet of fish, add shredded lettuce, and then... Eyes, come on. Sorry. We need eyes. It's a bunch of shirtless homosexuals outside. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:12:30 The run club turned up and Haley's just can't stop looking. It's not fair that that guy can run and have a back and shoulders like that. That's all I'm going to say. Running's supposed to slim you down. Not give you the Henry Cavill shoulders. I was going to say
Starting point is 00:12:44 fillet fish is my primary burger. It is. With ad shredded letters. It's a hot play. It's delicious. The sweet steamed bun. It's always so fresh. So in 2019 to promote Uber Eats and McDonald's teaming up,
Starting point is 00:13:00 the road legal filial fish was built. Road legal. Now, someone messaged in from memory it was built around a Daihatsu. It was built around one of those mini trucks that I just think of the cutest damn things. Every time is that mini truck or a minivan on the road, I'm like, damn that's cute. In my parents' village when they live in Italy, they've got the little three-wheelers. One bit of it with a little Ute Trace.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, for little deliveries and cute. So cute. Yeah, so cute. In 2019, it was buzz and round. Auckland being chased by the Kelly Talton's shark. Or RIP missed that. Then it just disappeared. Well, no, it's still around.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Is that? The Kelly Tal wasn't still around? No, they don't own it. They don't own it. They got rid of it. Who owns it? I don't know. Someone bought it.
Starting point is 00:13:42 It was on trade me. Because our friend Morgan is terrified of it. And I would always send her photos when I saw it. Hicking up tourists around the city, but then it was sold. They sold it. Amagad! We need more novelty vehicles. We don't have enough.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I know. Someone bought it and still takes people to Kelly Tarleton's in it, right? No. No. You just have it for personal years. So it's just buzzing. I've seen it lately. I don't know what it's up to now, but yeah, they got rid of it.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Little bit it's private owner. It was sold in 2020. Yeah. Oh my God. Anyway, the filial fish truck disappeared. And then it's reappeared. Great. An Invercargill of all places.
Starting point is 00:14:22 It's reappeared in Inveragel. It's been purchased by the Bill Richardson Transport Museum. Right. Oh, okay. That's good. So it's living with heaps of other, like, wacky cars and special cars. And that's actually really worth a visit if you're in Invercargo. I've never been.
Starting point is 00:14:36 It's amazing. Can you hire it for events? You know what I mean? Like, if I was to get married. For your wedding. I turn up. Yeah. In the Filio Fish Truck?
Starting point is 00:14:47 100%. Phileo fish truck. Love it. Well, when it was used as a promo vehicle, it saw a 130% increase of the amount of filial fish is sold. Yeah, brilliant. Delicious.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Those people are learning. This job. Great little bit of marketing there. But I've got the top six Macca's menu items that deserved their own vehicle before the filial fish. Number six on the list, the cheeseburger. Classic.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Classic. Yeah. Classic. Make it a vehicle. I don't know. I've always been a cheeseburger girl. I'll always get something and a cheeseburger. Yeah. But then I got introduced to the double cheeseburger.
Starting point is 00:15:18 And I was like, this rules. Why would you... You'd have to go back. Go double. Yeah. Number five on the list of the top six Macca's menu items that deserve a vehicle before the filial fish is the McFlurry. Problem is, it's always broken down.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's always on the side of the road. And it's like, sorry. And you're like, God damn it. It's not actually working to that. Also, you go to the beach in summer. It'll just melt. It's so quick.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Number four on the list of the top six, Macas and menu items that deserved a vehicle before the filial fish is the cordy pee. Yeah. Classic. You introduced me to that. I love the cordy pee. Yeah. I'll do a cordy pee and nugs or a cordy pee and cheeseburger.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Which is just a more cordy pee? As a baby. You're sort of quarter and a bit of a pee. Number three on the list of the top six Mac is menu items that deserved their own vehicle before the filet of fish is the fries. Yeah, but tall and slim. Tall, yeah, tall. Yeah, wouldn't go under a car park, you know, height flat.
Starting point is 00:16:11 No, no, it'll hit the fries will hit the top. The fries might have to be lying down. As they always are in the bottom of the bag on the takeaways, you know, you pull something out. They flop over. Number two on the list, Nuggies. Yum. The Nuggies box. Or a Sweden Sower.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Well, that's its little trailer. Yeah. It's like a little trailer. It's like a little pottle trailer. Yeah, it's like the airport shuttle. Yeah. It always takes one of those little trailers. You turn one of those into the Sweden sales.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Also, number one on the list of the top six Macas menu items that deserve their own vehicle before the filet officials. It's the Big Mac. Oh, dear do it. It's the Big Mac. Not for me. It's the signature Berg. Why'd you put a little bun in the middle of the buns?
Starting point is 00:16:46 It does blow my mind how many people, eat at McDonald's and don't ever, ever, ever get a Big Mac. I've never bought one. It's a bun in the middle. I don't want a bun in the middle. What have you done sticking a bun in the middle? Yeah. There's a bun on the top, there's a bun in the bottom. Too much bun. And then there's patties, cheese, sauce. Brilliant.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Is that bun doing it there? The second bun is too much. Get out of here, you crazy bun. And it comes from a fat bun, I remember that's when we watched that video of how they they make it. They make the big bun. Yeah. And they slice it out. Yeah. Yeah. It's a big tall bun. Get out.
Starting point is 00:17:16 That's a good bun. I'd like to shake the hands I'd like to shake the hand of the man because let's face it it it it wasn't a woman they came up with the idea of the bun in the middle hang on big Mac created it let's just because if it's a woman we're going to get it was it Ray Crop or was it the people he took the idea
Starting point is 00:17:31 off Jim Delegate Ron Swanson 1967 67 Oh four Boy you said neck minute the other day You got to give me a little 67 every time
Starting point is 00:17:42 Nick Minute is still cool It's timeless It's time it's Nick Minner is a timeless classic. That is today's top six. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flash, One and Haley. The new semester has just started after summer holidays.
Starting point is 00:18:02 We're back, we're ready to learn. We're back. And our studies looked at the text messages. These say they're all sent to Mum, not Dad. Yeah, because Dad's... Just does this. And Mum's probably got his phone too. Dad was definitely like car
Starting point is 00:18:18 And if you needed money Dad was money On behalf of all dads We'd just like to hear from you too Yeah Of course, no yeah I'd always go and say hey Hey
Starting point is 00:18:30 How about some money What do you want? Yeah This has looked at all the text messages And on average 528 that are sent In the first year of moving out of home Good
Starting point is 00:18:41 And this is what they Per person Per person Yes Yes That's great. 528. And to mum.
Starting point is 00:18:49 A couple a day. A couple of day. So these are the top 20 things that are asked. Yeah. How do I boil an egg? Yep. What's my N-I number? Which is national...
Starting point is 00:18:59 So that would be like what's my N-H-I number. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which we all only learnt because of COVID. Do you have one? And now I can't get rid of it for my head. Yeah, mine starts with Ben. Oh, GFJO-6 or six. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Don't say that out. Don't say it out loud. Now someone's going to... Don't say that loud. You don't want my health. Someone's like, I'm going to steal on her idea, Jesus Christ. Jesus. And that's just the brain.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Okay, the top things that first years are asking, Mum, when they move out, number 18, can I order food on your account? Yep, yes. Next, what questions do I ask in a job interview? Next on the list. Is food always this expensive? Yep.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Mom, how do I deal with messy flatmates? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mom, how do I set up a direct debit? it? Oh, that's good that they're paying their bills. Mom, can you look at my CV? Yeah. Mom, can I eat a chicken if it's a bit pink? Are you serious?
Starting point is 00:19:54 Yeah. That is number 12 on the list. Can I eat chicken if it's a bit pink? Yeah, on the most texted things to mom. You can if it's thigh. Because it's a darker meat. It sits closer to the blown. It looks pink, but it's cooked. Next on the list, number 11, mom, can you post my things to me?
Starting point is 00:20:09 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I left my this at home. Yeah, number 10. Mom, what job should I apply for? Number nine, Mom, can you get me in Uber? Yeah, oh, that's good, yeah, yeah. You could just set up an account, right? So they can...
Starting point is 00:20:23 But then they'll just take the purse. Number seven, where's the water meter in my house, mum? When we get to the top five, can we guess? Say what our mums would have replied to us if we sent that. Absolutely. Okay, number six on the list is, can I come home, mum? Oh, yeah. Okay, I don't even know what number five is.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Okay. Mom, where's the stopcock? What's the stopcock? Pets would be like, you never stop. The stopcog is an emergency valve used to shut off the main water supply to a building. So they need to turn off the water. There's a leak. Well, what would your mum say?
Starting point is 00:20:59 My mum would have been like, it's different on every house. Craig? That's what my mum would say. Yeah, I'll get your father, but no, I just look for it. Yeah. Okay, number four on the list. Mom, can you send me 100 pounds? No, would have been my mum's answer.
Starting point is 00:21:11 100 pounds. We just did. It's like 200 bucks. What do you need that for? My mum would say. Okay, number three on the list of the most message text when first years leave home to mum. How do I read the electricity meter?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Craig? My mum would have said, well, there's numbers on it, but you've got to have your start point, no point. Reading it just now and just hoping to be able to work out what your power is going to be. Number two on the list of the cries for help. How do I know if the chicken's cooked? Again, much like the pink one.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Why are people so scared of chicken? My mum back in the day would have said, you'll know because it's dry. Yeah. Stringy. Has it been in the microwave for three hours? Yeah, is it crumbling? The number one message sent to mums from first years that have left home, can you please send me $20?
Starting point is 00:21:59 20 pounds. So it's another financial request. It's 20, not 100. Yeah. My mom used to say, oh, God, add it to the tab. Yep. Add it to the tab. But would you go to mum or dad if you needed money?
Starting point is 00:22:10 Dad. Both, but not tell them. Dad. And then if I needed a top up, mum. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flash for it and Haley. Okay, so here's the full rundown. There's a new Netflix show that's coming out,
Starting point is 00:22:26 and it is called The New Stanford Prison Experiment. And it's a reality show. It's a reality show, like a real people scenario. Yeah. If you don't know the Stanford Prison Experiment, it was done in 1971. There was a psychologist. His name was Philip Zimbabre.
Starting point is 00:22:44 He recruited 24 students and randomly assigned them to assign them as either prisoners or guards in a mock prison in a Stanford university base. There's like a documentary on this. It's like famous. The documentary is called the Stanford Prison Experiment Unlocking the Truth. It was meant to run for one to two weeks, but it was shut down after six days as guards became abusive and prisoners had mental breakdowns. It is long when cited as proof of how power and rolls corrupt you, basically. Right. So anyone who became a guard, they were like unwatched. Well, it was filmed, but they were just like, I can do anything.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah. And they started really abusing the prisoners who were all just students. Like they were. Yeah. And psychologists still reference it now as like how abusing power can change you and corrupt the brain. The documentary came out and it was huge and everyone got to see how bizarre it is. So now this new Netflix show, unscripted series, six 45 minute episodes in season one,
Starting point is 00:23:47 30 willing participants enter a real prison and are randomly assigned as guard or prisoner, sounding familiar 50 years later, testing whether people inevitably conform to the roles they're given or whether empathy and morality can resist that pressure, asking does power corrupt? The original experiment showed us. It wasn't really bad, like the prisoners?
Starting point is 00:24:11 In the original one, the original experiment. Did anyone like hurt anyone physically? Yeah, they were abusing them. Yeah, they were physically and emotionally abusing them. Geez. Because Shannon, you described as cruel and tyrannical of the guards. Producer Shannon, who loves her history and her true crime. You're all over this. So you love the doco. Oh my goodness. I love this. And one of the greatest Netflix kind of reality is shows that I think this will be similar to is called Unlocked, a Prison Experiment. I love that one. Yes. They went into a prison and experimented by having no locks on the doors. The prisoners ran it.
Starting point is 00:24:44 And so I think this will be a similar kind of vibe, which I am so here for. But that wasn't a reality show unlocked, eh? Well, it was reality in the sense that it was real. But what, it was prisoners, so. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Actual murder is. It was amazing.
Starting point is 00:24:58 And then it was like community. But this is the Stanford experiment. They're not prisoners. That was the whole idea of it, right? Yeah. And they were randomly assigned. Yes, but if you watch the documentary about the Stanford prison experiment, there's one on Disney Plus.
Starting point is 00:25:11 It is so interesting because. of how contrived it was. They randomly got assigned, but there's a bunch of proof that they weren't. They were like, this guy's a bit of an alpha. Let's see how far he'll go. So they denied prisoners food, bedding and bathroom access. Over the six days, it went from waking them up in the middle of the night randomly, which is actually like torture, made them do humiliating exercises.
Starting point is 00:25:36 And then they started stripping them naked as punishment and humiliation. Then they started denying food, bedding and toilet access. And without any guidance, they started using solitary confinement, which is so bad for humans. And one had to be removed for hospitalisation because of it. They kept him in solitary so much that his heart got all messed up. And even in just six days. Yeah, six days it went from bad to worse.
Starting point is 00:26:00 And now they're like, people are going to win some money and do this? Do you want to watch this? Hey, hey, you're at home. Do you want to watch this happen? It's already, so this has only just been commissioned. So, you know, it's a while away. that's already received, like, extreme backlash because they're like, what do you mean in experiment? Done the experiment?
Starting point is 00:26:18 What are they seeing if it's changed? Because that was the 70-worldly 70s, right? Well, if you know you're doing this with money at the end of it, that kind of makes a difference. Wait, see the money at the end of it. Well, there's got to be. Win money? No, money changes everything again.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I'm just having a little look. No, they're doing it for clout and fame, right? You reckon. You can't have money. No, no, prize money is mentioned. No, what? No, then you can't want money in it. Completely changes the idea.
Starting point is 00:26:42 It's a social experiment. Wow. So you'd just be signing up to get some Instagram followers, basically. It's just literally the Stanford Prison Experiment Part 2. Yeah. Well, I'll watch.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Same so will I. I'm so against it, but I'll watch. The Z&M Podcast Network. Did you get that, did you get that a huge effort? Was here? Good morning, everybody. Hi. I stopped my toe.
Starting point is 00:27:06 There's a lot of safety concerns getting into your office. Wow. So that was a thing. Josh. I'm great. Thank you. Really good to be here.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Beloved award-winning comedian, Josh Thompson, in studio. Hi, apologies to everyone who was listening to that filth, but glad to be here. You're so busy and employed all the time. That must be really lovely. It might seem like that. It feels kind of rich coming from you. He has a full-time job and does shows at night and sells out stadiums across the country. Well, like, stadium is a bit of a...
Starting point is 00:27:35 I was rushing there. But, yeah, no, it's fun. It's okay. Everything's okay. Nothing can go wrong. You are in a new show called Good Bones. Yes. This is, why are you giggling?
Starting point is 00:27:47 I don't know. You're in a new show. You're a nightmare. You are in a new show called Good Bones. It stars you, award-winning comedian Josh Thompson. Correct, yes. And you buy a house with your wife. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:57 And it is a renovation project. Yeah, she goes to the toilet and I panic by a house at the auction. Crumbling. It's described as crumbling. I call it a sprawl special. Oh, it's really bad. And we shot at a real house that was condemned. That's what I was wondering in the trip. Where was the house?
Starting point is 00:28:12 It's in Ellesley or something like that. And you can buy the house for $1. And it's like a year old sort of colonial mansion. And there's like a stables out the back. But it is a death trap. But $1. How are you filming in this thing? Because the floorboards surely you'd fall through.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Yeah. I mean, you'll be surprised what happens in the series. But yeah, so there we have to. Floorboards. Yeah. Got it. Someone may or may not fall through the floor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:37 And someone nearly did fall through a different part of the floor. But that wasn't filmed. As a man that's renovated before Were you able to sympathise with your character? Sal, I believe his name is Well, he's kind of unskilled And I'm like really good at stuff So like I had to act
Starting point is 00:28:50 What are you talking about? You just need me hold a hammer I was wondering if this was sort of a sort of semi-autobiographical tale of the house No, I mean, well I've done a bunch of DIY There was one time where I hired a digger And dug out the entire property that I was living at Yeah, because I was trying to slope it in the other direction So I wouldn't get wet tutsies in the morning
Starting point is 00:29:08 And halfway through I had a mental breakdown because I'm like, you're an actor. You don't know what you're doing. What are you doing? You've just dug up your entire house. And they also just let anyone hire these diggers as well, which is insane there. No, I found a guy. I found a guy.
Starting point is 00:29:19 It turns out tying them was very dangerous and I nearly crashed in an intersection because of the weight of it. But I'm also, like, my wife came out to the balcony like halfway through. Everything I came is just holding the baby. And I drove it up to her trying to look kind of sexy. And I stood up and my gut hit one of the levers. And it spanned the entire arm of the digger around. And it smashed into the side of the house.
Starting point is 00:29:37 I made a hole inside of the house with the digger. and I nearly hit the baby and her. And also, I was just awkward, embarrassing. Death by gut, sucks. Yeah, yeah. Death by gut. If you're a child. The spare hand you're not ready for.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Yeah, right, right, right. So you buy this in this show, back to the real, to the show, not real life. You buy this crumbling building on a whim and you get the keys to the place. You go in and it's a bit spooky wiki. You find out that maybe some murders have happened there. Well, maybe, or it might be haunted or is it? Or is it, or is something happening there? Or has it happened?
Starting point is 00:30:08 Oh, no, you were in it. I didn't read the script. But there was a lot going on. There's a lot of people all sort of yelling at me. But yeah, there's a real mystery that unfolds. Apparently, I've heard that if you guys, Widows Bay, it's sort of similar feel to that. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:22 So, so, so, Wido's Bay. Just not to overrun your show. Wow, it feels like. So good. Oh, yeah. It's just won the record for most Emmys in a night. We picked up on episode two yesterday. So good.
Starting point is 00:30:34 So like, spooky funny. Yeah, it is spooky funny. So this is a New Zealand version of that. Well, I mean, We made it immediately as soon as they won like 13 Emmys we thought we'd make one straight. I was going to say, what do you said? The criticism that New Zealanders don't never do anything quite as good as this sort of America or... Yeah, so it's kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:30:51 But apparently I still... I've got kind of weird face, so like people do find that amusing anyway. You do have this sometimes when you try to do dramatic acting, everyone's like... I think it's my eyebrows. They are too sort of... They are as vertical as they are horizontal. Yeah, yeah. Your eyebrows.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Okay, sure. To give a testament to the quality of the show If Josh Thompson being in it isn't enough It's made by the people that made After the party That was Emmy nominated Yeah I think there's some BAFTAs I think I don't know I can't remember
Starting point is 00:31:21 I know that another show that I was in With the same people called Inside That was made in New Zealand during COVID Won an Emmy Right Yeah but no one sort of talks about that So like there's quality behind it The show that I was in the gone an Emmy
Starting point is 00:31:32 That's fine Did you get an Emmy? No I mean the show got an Emmy I mean I don't get to keep it I'm not I met them So when it says here, like we get a brief, I've seen it at their house. Good Bone Stars award-winning comedian, the award they're referring to is not the Emmy. No, I got, um, I like best television appearance in the 2005 New Zealand comedy awards, which, you know, it's a big deal.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Right. It's a bit of a bit of their old, 2009 best fish and chip shop. Well, that's, I know, like, I know, and there wasn't a lot of TV with comedians on at the moment, so it's a bit of a show in, but like, you know, like, it still counts. It still technically an award. What TV show? What TV show was that? I think it was the project Which is still going
Starting point is 00:32:11 Oh no that's where I got cancelled Oh shit I mean I'm not going to start talking about cancelled shows I've cancelled literally every single one that I've ever been on Except for this one Stone's been tossing glass houses Let's see So this starts tonight's on three
Starting point is 00:32:21 Three neon So it's all that on neon Unlighting the full series on neon And then I think it might be week by week on three now I should have read the email But it's coming out probably today And then just so I'm going to because we love catching out with you.
Starting point is 00:32:37 We're doing any live shows coming up or? No, not much. I'm trying to sell some cars. Personal. Yeah, what? Are you still rocking around in that Mercedes-Benz? No, I did get rid of that. But I've got a Toyota Realm 2005.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Sorry, are you going to plug the cars? Well, I'm just saying, like, I just get a bit of traction on trade me. A Toyota what? A Toyota Realm. It's German for Roomy. It looks small. Yes, it's too small for a grown mat. But, like, like, you, like, hey, it doesn't mean.
Starting point is 00:33:06 No, in a realm. 2005, so probably a classic. And there's a lot of damage on the outside, but it smells a bit, and I've got to clean it. But I've been too busy for the past me while, but now I've got a bit of time, so I'm just going. What are you doing in a realm? Poffing on the cars. It's very roomy. It's more got more room than you think it would.
Starting point is 00:33:23 It is. You bought a new car or are you just getting rid of cars? No, well, I've got two old cars that no one wants. So, like, yes, I've got to get rid of them. And so, you asked. Well, if you want to see Josh Thompson, we're absolutely true. You can see him on three, three-downs. neon
Starting point is 00:33:37 or trade me or a bit of a room near you also Toyota Harry 2005 that's up as well
Starting point is 00:33:43 no where did these cars come from the internet the internet do you did you inherit
Starting point is 00:33:50 these cars not just had them for like 20 years I've just been too busy you're a night as is
Starting point is 00:33:57 where is okay no tire to this no time waste always always a good so in the car
Starting point is 00:34:02 is as is where is uh thank you so much Thank you. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fleshhorn and Haley. Who is currently praying for your downfall?
Starting point is 00:34:17 Will we be accepting people who are praying for others downfall? Absolutely. Yeah, okay, okay. Because this is what, your friend was hoping, right? I think a lot of the time you don't know that someone's praying for your downfall. More than you know you are praying for the downfall of someone. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But sometimes you do know, you're like, I know that you don't want me to succeed.
Starting point is 00:34:36 So what you're saying is if you know, you know. I mean, this is classic Kiwi tall poppiness also. Listen to this. So yesterday, Wednesday night, I get a message from a friend with a cocktail. On a Wednesday. On a Wednesday. Madness. Wednesday I'll have a wine or a tequila.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Thursday's when I start to move towards cocktails. A cocktail is just a tequila with some friends. This is true. So it's a cocktail and it said it happened. And I knew exactly what it meant. And we start this discussion. Now she was unfortunately cheated on, which was, you know, we don't stand by that. No.
Starting point is 00:35:10 She was cheated on and immediately he got with the person that he'd cheated on her with, my friend. And we've been talking for a long time. And we're not trying to be negative, you know, women supporting women, but we did wish for the downfall of their relationship from day one. You don't want to succeed. Anyone would want that. Is she hot and skinny? Yeah, she is.
Starting point is 00:35:28 So, you know, that hurt. And we didn't, we went into her. We've taken great pleasure the last couple of months of children. Just mowing her down. Really tearing her down. Yeah. In private. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:35:39 And in a witchy way, kind of, kind of energetically wishing for their downfall. I love that. And it happened. They broke up. Energetically wishing for their downfall. Wow. Is that the secret? Is that how the secret works?
Starting point is 00:35:51 Well, I believe in manifestation. I believe in the power of positive thinking and what you put into the universe you get back. And the witchy curse worked. I believe in the power of Christ, but he won't smite people for it. He's not smite. Despite my requests. Yeah. So I moved more to the universe.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Smite them. Right. We've spent about two, two to three months just really wishing for this downfall. And last night, she was to the cocktail. Yeah, so I had to pour a little, a little fizzy number as well to celebrate this. And I know, and it's like, I'm always like, you know, I'm a very positive person, but sometimes there's just that thing that you go like, God, I hope you fail. God, I hope that fails.
Starting point is 00:36:24 God, I hope this doesn't go well for you. Or when you do fail at something, you're like, damn, they're going to know about this and it's good. They're going to, they're going to be happy about it. They're going to be happy about it. They're going to be happy. I'm happy I lost down on that. Yeah. Someone's going to be happy I didn't get that job promotion.
Starting point is 00:36:37 Yes. Yeah, 100%. And then they'll be really unhappy. But on LinkedIn, they're going to say congratulations. Congratulations. Not to your face. Yeah, Camerations. I'm going to say next time is your time.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Next one's yours. So this is what we want to know this morning. 0800 dials at em, you can call us. Text through 9-696. Are you hoping or praying for someone's downfall? Why, do you know that someone is just waiting for yours? Yeah, yeah, yeah. you're in a lot of negativity out there
Starting point is 00:37:06 maybe it's coming your way or maybe it's going out somewhere else. We're humans, this is what we're like. Yeah, we absolutely love doing this. Let's be honest. It's like when you see someone running, you're like, fall over. I feel like a laugh.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Is that different? That's different. That's different. That's different. Yeah, they haven't done anything to wrong me, so I'm not going to wish for their down. They'd have a good laugh, though. I'd have a good laugh.
Starting point is 00:37:29 It's a little trip. I'll 800 at Amazon number, 9-6-966 to text it. Are you currently praying for someone's downfall or is someone praying for yours? Some messages in. Okay. My ex-boss wants me to fail because I'm now working for a rival business. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Treating me better. Yeah. Yeah, they'll be like, yeah. Wait for that to blow apart. I'm praying aggressively for my insert expletive hair. Father's downfall as a lovely lesbian whose wedding he missed. And I feel like he's praying for mine also. Wow.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Is it a sad dynamic? Is it a problem with being gay? Maybe. What bloody year is it? Yeah. Oh, get a grip. I'm praying for the downfall of the company that I worked for. Myself and 25 other people got made redundant because they've offshoreed our work to India and the Philippines to save money.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Oh, yeah. And they want us to teach these people how to do the job that they have just made us redundant for. That would be a hard no if you were like you're being made redundant. And the last role, the last thing you've got to do is teach your replacement how to do it. Zoom, I suppose. Excuse me, no. Yeah, unless they're going to fly you to India. That would be nice to have a little holiday as well.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Goa. Goa. Actually, the... Goa's on my list. Is that? The all, yes. Have seen some of the beaches in India? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Goa side of things and beautiful. I'll have a Taj Mahal. Yeah, I'll have a Taj Mahal. Yeah. Might even head up north. Just beautiful. You know, might go for a look. The food, I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 00:38:54 I'll go for a look. I'm not mad. I'm not mad. I'll train them as well. Yeah. As long as I get to, you know, fly me there. I'll do a week's training. I'm staying for three.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Yeah. My best friend is hoping for my downfall by telling people she hopes I, wow, okay. No, don't read that. That's awful. I'm so sorry. I don't pre-read that one. Well, you can't just tease me like that? No.
Starting point is 00:39:15 No. Wow, okay. It's really evil. Also, that's also weird that you started with my best friend, current tense, not my ex-best friend. Best friends don't parade for other best friends downfalls. No. Have you ever pre-read any of the other ones?
Starting point is 00:39:29 They're scared now. My whole team is currently complaining about our manager to the HR. Because our manager tells us off like we're children. Today is going to be very awkward but in the best way possible. So my ex-cheted and left me. Two days later he was with that chick, much like your friend. My bestie and I hoped for their downfall initially, but then we switched.
Starting point is 00:39:49 And now we hope it works out for her because then she's stuck with him and he's awful. Good way of looking at things. Really lovely little spin there. Yeah. I was in a decent relationship and my friend was in a pretty toxic one. I knew that they shouldn't be together. And then especially after me and my ex broke up, I was praying for their downfall even more.
Starting point is 00:40:07 They broke up a few weeks later and we have been such great friends ever since. So it kind of worked out. Because you're praying for the downfall, but you know it's the right thing. You know it's going to be good for them? Yes, yes, yes, yes. So you want something bad to happen because ultimately, you know she's going to be happier. When you're your name.
Starting point is 00:40:22 When you're mate, your name. Yeah. Someone said, hoping my husband's new relationship crashes. drastically as he's run off with a 26 year old and he's 39. Yeah. Wow. A manager in a company I used to work for we're praying for each other's downfall. Wow, a mutual.
Starting point is 00:40:38 A mutual downfall. She had two disciplinary cases against me, which failed. Then I was made redundant by a manager that she was best friends with. She hated me because I made her and her staff look useless at their jobs. Mutual downfall. Did you read this nursing one? No.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Downfall of my... I'm praying for the downfall of my... friend who cheated her way through nursing school. How do you cheat for nursing school? I don't want her to have a downfall because it's going to come at the cost of somebody out. Someone is a poor sick person. She even nominated herself for a nursing competition on Instagram and the caption is chat cheap-t written about how amazing she is as a nurse. She doesn't deserve to be a nurse at all.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Nursing school didn't care either and they were all very well aware. Wow. Okay. My ex cheered on me and left two days. two days later he was with this new chick but we initially prayed for the downfall we've moved to hoping it works out because now she's stuck with him and he was truly awful
Starting point is 00:41:34 wasn't that just want Haley Redd? Did you follow up the they're married now and she stuck with him and all of his horrible friends and family? Oh no I didn't. Was it a different one? No no that's a follow-up. Yeah okay oh nice. The wellness guru?
Starting point is 00:41:46 I haven't please. We're like dancing around because some of those are really horrible. There's so many text messages. Yeah there's some really, really bad ones and you should take a look at yourself. I used to pray for a week. workmates downfall. She saw herself as a bit of a wellness guru
Starting point is 00:41:59 and would always food shame me if I was getting amongst birthday cake in the staff room or the likes. Yum. Or if she saw me in my exercise gear would say you do realize the exercise only 10% of it and the rest is diet. Shut your mouth. Who speaks to someone like that at work?
Starting point is 00:42:15 Well, guess who just got fired for having vodka in a drink bottle? Oh my God. Not so well now, are we? That is brilliant. Wow. You do realize.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Exercise and then shut up. That's probably what was making is so lippy. Yeah. Yeah, loose last day and get a little bit loose. Progressively more and more
Starting point is 00:42:38 loose lip throughout the day after a sweet little Was it just a straight vodka vodka or was it a sort of a mix down vodka and soda with a squeeze of lime? Because honestly someone said it.
Starting point is 00:42:50 I've got a couple of things I need to tell you. Have you pre-read? Oh my God, I have a juicy one. No. Oh God. I'm just going to let's just roll down and I'll stop.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Do you want to pre-read it? Because I've got, I recently cast a spell. Okay, great, you do that. I recently cast a spell. I googled how to do it. On my ex, to expose his true colours to all who know him. He has nothing, he has nothing to worry about if he's a good person. But I've seen his true colour, so now I'm just waiting for the spell to hit.
Starting point is 00:43:13 What is the speed of a spell? But why has she put a spell on him? What's he done? Depends how much intention is behind us. Yeah. Oh, well, the teenage witch over here, Sabrina Carpenter, the teenage witch. This isn't, okay. Oh, my God, I have a juicy.
Starting point is 00:43:27 basically my auntie I now wish that karma in the universe will get her her and her husband went on an exercise trip with my parents I remember like exercise trips you know you can go on like non-exercise trips we don't exercise the whole time
Starting point is 00:43:41 for a run on holiday neck minute she says with an X in the middle my dad and her have an accident no one's fault really but if it was someone's fault it was hers keep in mind my dad almost died
Starting point is 00:43:53 and his head injury is still not right years later dad did the right thing and apologise for his part in the accident and then she went around telling everyone that it was completely his fault and had let her ego and pride literally dismantle a 20 year friendship.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Now I can't bloody stand my auntie who I would have had is my emergency contact at one point opening her demise. She's gone around making this huge accident look like it was his fault. Praying for the downfall of the ex-husband who cheated on me with one chick from the gym. We separated five days later
Starting point is 00:44:22 he's with another chick entirely. Someone said by the way, It's like a hot gym. Where's this gym? I don't know if we could get a gym. If we get a gym follow up there on 393, if you could let us know what gym. Somebody said Alcoholics drink straight vodka because it doesn't smell
Starting point is 00:44:39 the minute you start mixing some of the stuff in is when people get suspicious. Oh, okay, right. What is that? A little hot tip? A hot tip. I'm praying for my exes down fully cheated on me. Hid a child with a lady from work that I only found out about it when the baby was nine months old. And now he's married
Starting point is 00:44:54 to my ex-bex friend from primary school. is so scandalous. These are so scandalous. Good, it puts your life in perspective, doesn't it? It really does. I'm praying for the downfall of my former boss who made me redundant out of retaliation for me informing as she was doing stuff illegally.
Starting point is 00:45:11 You can't do that. Yeah, that's why you've always got to have the receipts. Snitches get stitches, though. Yeah, in the workplace. I think in the workplace, that's sort of the official call. Okay, God, there's some going on. plays A ZM's Fleshfallen and Haley ZM
Starting point is 00:45:28 Fleth Fawn and Haley Silly little pole So silly little pole So silly, silly, silly that the silly So little pole today Do you feel guilty when you take time off work This could be holidays, sick days Mental health days
Starting point is 00:45:52 So not even faking a sickie Do you just feel bad in general? I'm really rocked and shocked What are these? I do I never take a sick day I don't like putting people out I mean, bad people, I mean you too.
Starting point is 00:46:06 The show just takes such a plummet when I'm not here. Yeah, I know, yeah. I feel guilty. The listener's like, where is she? Where is she? Well, 63% of people feel guilty when they take time off work. It's nearly too busy. You don't feel bad about, like, you know, management dealing with it.
Starting point is 00:46:24 You feel bad about, you know, you got, because if you get along with your workmates. I couldn't care less about. Yeah, they're the ones that have to pick up the, like, they might be able to get cover. Yeah, totally. Yeah. They have to work a bit harder. for you to accommodate your little sniffles. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Yeah. Your little sniffles. Some feedback on this. Jesse said, I feel guilty if I log off on time. Working across different time zones is just so great if you've got anxiety. So she's, you know, working across times. She's literally logging off on time and she feels guilty.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Bri, said, when I submit the time off, yes. When I'm on holiday, no, no, no, no, no guilt. No guilt when I'm going. No, no, guilt. Don't feel guilt for holidays. Yeah. Somebody not. I have friends who've got to work
Starting point is 00:47:07 extra hard before they go on holidays to make up for the fact that they're not there. It's like... That's not the point of leave. Yeah, I know. Record four weeks of podcasts. Who would do that? Who would make extra work for themselves?
Starting point is 00:47:17 Yeah. And you can find those on eye hard or wherever your podcast. Yes, that's right. 365 days a year, including Christmas Day. No, absolutely. No, I'm saving PDFs. No, not lives. So they can shove the job if they don't want me to take a few days off.
Starting point is 00:47:34 See it, Annie. Okay. Haley said, I'm a nanny, so when I take time off, the parents have to normally get work off too. Oh, no. Do they have to look after their own kid? Oh, no. I work for cancer doctors, so I feel extra guilty because, like, they have to take time off. That means people aren't getting seen to by the doctor. Take your kids to work. Strap them on the back. Get them in the hospital. Working in America, my annual and sick leave combined is 14 days that doesn't roll over.
Starting point is 00:48:00 So F them, you believe I'm taking it every last minutes he's been. is so screwed, eh? So, like, we're so lucky we get, it's law, you get the time off. It took me years to realise work don't care about you. So you take the time off, you've only got one life, they don't care about you, you care about them. Exactly, you're just a cog in the machine, man. You were just a cog in the corporate machine. I'm a millennial, I don't take time off, no time to feel guilty when your candle's on fire at both ends and in the middle, said Tessa.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Right, yeah. Who taught us that, oh? I know, who did this? Lo, no, I literally pulled a sick of. last week to take my daughter to the animal park with my friend. Ironically, but now we're both legitimately sick and having to take proper days off. So, for so little poll, do you feel guilty
Starting point is 00:48:42 about taking time off work? Sixty-three percent of you do. The ZDM podcast network. ZM's Fletch, One and Haley. Hey, you on the phone, I bet I can guess your mum's name. Time for Betta can guess your mum's name. A segment of the show where Vaughn will ask
Starting point is 00:49:01 a caller, and this in this instance, it's Jade, good morning, Jade. Good morning, guys. Vaughn will ask you five questions about your mum and then have 15 seconds to try and guess her name. Sweet. Sounds great.
Starting point is 00:49:15 Okay, are we going to hum? We're going to get into harmony. So if you want to let a hum, Jade, we'll all join in. We'll make a connection. I just going to hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Shoes off. Are you going to ground?
Starting point is 00:49:25 You're going to be grounded? Okay, Vaughn's going to try and now make a connection with you, Jay. So if you can just hum. I feel like we should all hold hands too. You know what I mean? I mean, we can't do that. Spiritually, we can. And our desk is huge.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Okay, I'm going to hum. Okay, go, Jade. Sounds like mosquitoes or bees. Yeah. I like that. Okay. Okay, so now you've got a psychic connection to Jade Vaughn. What are your five questions?
Starting point is 00:49:56 When was mum born? Always good to get sort of a vintage. A vintage, yeah. She was born in 1967. I'm going to hold myself back. Yep. What? What?
Starting point is 00:50:10 67. Okay, we would always put a Karen. Always a Karen, yep. And then our mum's names, Bev, Chris, Patsy, yep. Put that down. And that's kind of like, those names would work around then.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Yeah, my mum was like 60, a little bit older. 1967. Girl, you're moving into your Susan's. No, I was thinking more like piece, flower power we're kind of moving towards. Like, yeah, hippie. Roosy's a name in them. Hi, hippie 60. Hey, shut up, Jade, no clues.
Starting point is 00:50:46 No, ums. But now we've got like a poppy and Florence. Okay, we'll go for a Lily. Rose. Yeah, I've got a rose there. Kind of, you know, there was sort of three of the 50s and here they are. Yeah, we're taking off the shackles of a. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Of a post-war. Yoko. No. I'm not getting into a yoko for Jade's mom. What does mom have for breakfast? She just has, like, coffee. Does she, she doesn't have a food bowl of Saltona brand? Or special K?
Starting point is 00:51:18 Crazy. No, she doesn't really eat breakfast. Okay. She's a coffee. She's an almond mom. Yeah, did she have a siggy with that as well? Yeah, yeah, immediately I put my fingers at... No, she doesn't really smoke either.
Starting point is 00:51:31 She doesn't really smoke. No, she just doesn't. She doesn't smoke. Okay, she doesn't, okay. But I'm still feeling like a black coffee and she's... Susie. Yeah, I'm leading into your more tough woman, your Sharon's. Oh, okay, yeah, Sharon's, yeah, great.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Your Sharon's, your, um... Did you have got a Debbie? No, that's dead right, actually. That's right on. That's right on. What was, um, Cheryl? Oh, yeah, good. Yep.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Oh, I had an auntie that, a great Auntie that didn't eat Breaky too, but she had a drink. What was her name? She was Auntie Lynn. Auntie Lynn. Lynette, yeah, good. Yeah, Lynette. Put that down. Ja, Ja, Jackie.
Starting point is 00:52:17 Jackie. Jackie. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jackie, yeah, yeah, yeah. What were your mum's siblings' names, Jade? Um, so she's got Rosina and she's got Christina. Rosanna. Rosanna.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Rose? Rosanna and Christine. It's Rosina. It's Rosina. Rosina. Rosina. Oh, this is throwing a spanner in the words. Rosina and Christina.
Starting point is 00:52:41 Yeah. I wouldn't name two. Is that someone being like, is that you on the radio? Rosina, Christina, Christina. No. Hey, it's Christina. Christina, Rosina. You're not doing anotherina, right?
Starting point is 00:52:55 Yes, you are. Why would you two if not three? Susina. Susina. Bernina. Burnina. Burnina. Oh, that's really throwing.
Starting point is 00:53:04 me. Gina? I might go a Jane. Or Jaina. Jina. I'm going to go a Gina. But Jaina. Never forget Fletch having a caller on the phone and it was
Starting point is 00:53:15 Gina and he says, Jaina, welcome. Good morning, Jaina. Good morning, Jaina. I go to Tracy at this stage of the game. What did Mum last do for holidays? Like to drink her wine in bed and kind of with her cats while watching horror movies. Zena. I mean, where did she go?
Starting point is 00:53:35 She probably just stays at home with the cats. The cats. I'm definitely getting a kind of eccentric woman here. Yeah, yeah. Drinking wine and bed watching horror movies. A dolly, like a, you know what I mean? Like a... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:48 Polly or a penny. Yeah, Penelope. Paula? Yeah, Paula. Yeah, put that down. Where's mum? Oh, she's in bed with a wine. Oh, my God, I hope that's me.
Starting point is 00:53:59 That's literally you're describing Haley and ladies. Some question. You use the plural cats. How many are we talking? Are you talking about past or prison? No, no, currently. Caron on the guy? She's got about three.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Okay, but how do you... How many... Yeah, they're all kind of cats have just made their way to her house and just... She's collecting them. Yeah, she's a... She's a cat lady. How many...
Starting point is 00:54:23 Marjorie. You said prison or past... Marjorie? You know what I mean? Like, it's given... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I might put Marg and Marr. Do you want to hop on the text machine,
Starting point is 00:54:31 Vaughn? Yeah, yeah, yeah, see what people are... Justina? Justina. Is it? Christina. Justina Paulina
Starting point is 00:54:39 Georgina Georgina yeah if they're going for the ars Would be absolutely wild Wouldn't it Shal Lynn's feeling a strong connection to the name Brenda Brenda
Starting point is 00:54:48 Oh yeah Brenda I haven't got a Brenda But that's of the vintage Really good Who's mum's favourite artist Like musician wise She really likes Madonna She really likes Madonna
Starting point is 00:54:58 Jeez Louise She's really I like a picture of this woman Before when you said Past cats How many has she had at the most When she was like flush with cats
Starting point is 00:55:08 What's the most amount of cats you had? Growing up, we've probably had maybe like 20 cats. Yeah, in total. Because you get through the cats, don't you? Roger, get through the cats. She might be learning them. Maria. Yeah, Maria.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Is that the last question? Okay. Lucy. Okay, Jade, Vaughn's got 15 seconds to try and guess your mum's name. If you hear your mum's name, yell out. Stop. That's my mum's name. Molly.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Wait. And I cannot read my handwriting. Starts now. Karen Beb, Chris, Patsy, Susan, Rosie, Lily, Daisy, Sharon, Kim, Debbie, Cheryl, Lynn, Lynette, Jackie Jane. Stop! Which one? Lynette. Lynette.
Starting point is 00:55:50 You said Lynette? I said Lynette. I said Lynette. I said Lynette. I said Lynette. I said Lynette. Yeah. I've got a Lynette.
Starting point is 00:55:55 I was like, oh, that's it. Jade. I didn't think we were going to do that. I thought Mum's name was going to be some hippie. Spicy. Spicy name? Amazing. You've won $100, Jade, and you've triggered, you've triggered the bonus round.
Starting point is 00:56:11 The bonus round. Give it to me. On the phone, I'll have a good. I guess in your dad's name. One guess, Lynette and Dad. It's got to be Dave. Yeah, it's Dave. Lynette and Dave.
Starting point is 00:56:25 You know, before you even said Dave, I was like Dave. Really? Yeah. Yeah. All right. I don't have a strong feeling for Dad. Lynette and Steve? Lynette and Josh.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Darren. Lynette and Darren. No, it's not Darren. You're well off. Daryl. It's Darren. It's Darren meet Steve, which is Dave. Part of Darren,
Starting point is 00:56:44 bitter Steve, put it together. What are you got? Dave. Well, you're not allowed to any questions. No, it's just Dave. You said it. I was already thinking about it.
Starting point is 00:56:51 I said Lynette. So is that why you're trusting me? I think you've got some magic. I'm 100%. I'm in your hands. I don't know. Okay, Jade. Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:58 Warren is going to guess your dad's name. It's Dave. You're going to say, Dave. What is your dad's name? It's David. Pass off. Oh. taking that?
Starting point is 00:57:08 David. I mean so, for real, guys, it's Dave. Well, Dave is short, but David. Are you kidding me? So his name's David, but he goes by Dave. Yes. I did that. You did that.
Starting point is 00:57:20 It just came to you. It just came to me. Because that's a classic dad name. David. David, John, Chris. Does she go by Lynn or Lynette? But it's not one of the Beatles that I understand. She goes by Lynny.
Starting point is 00:57:31 She goes by Linney. Dave and Linney. Now, producer Carwin is saying that she told David, Before she went on here. Look, I'm just flagging that I'm out here to stop the cheaters. But we're taking a mat for Matthew. Well, she, okay, this is the thing.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Our lovely Jade said to me, it's Linney. She also goes by Lini. She didn't save to me. It's David, but he also goes by Dave. I'm just putting it out there. I'm just saying, Dave is. Always David.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Yeah. It's a true. I'm just saying. I'm just stave. No one's called Dave. I'm just. Also, just to clarify, producer Carwin gets the name so that the caller can't come on
Starting point is 00:58:08 and then just say yes to whatever now. People are like, you must message him. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, we're paying Dave. As a wife, somebody said, as a fellow woman with a husband called David, yep, it counts. Dave, David,
Starting point is 00:58:24 he's David when he's in trouble, but he's David. Okay, so are we accepting David slash day? Yes, I reckon. Okay. Nice. Another Hyundai, Jade, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:58:38 This is like the second time in a row we've done both, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone said every Dave, every Dave I know his full name is David. Yeah, exactly. We're accepting this. The name David has lost all meaning to me. We are accepting that times. The ZN podcast network.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Now, I don't know if you missed it, I'm no longer a Mazbasseter. A Mazda Baster. I've got to... Your Maz Bazz too hard. Man, I just went hard on the masing and they were like, Bazz off, you know. No, I've got to give my Mazda back Only because of the North Harbour Mazda's sold
Starting point is 00:59:10 So, you know, I got the call from lovely Derek, our friend And I've got to give my Mazda back And it's time for me to just have a bit of a change up And I'm wanting an electric car maybe I was going to get something silly Yeah, everyone's like, thank you man She wanted a 70s Mercedes Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, convertible
Starting point is 00:59:29 Like long, the absolute lectures The one year, yeah, from mechanics, friends, parents are all right. and the bank who we said no we might lead you the money to do that so yesterday I went in I've been researching electric vehicles obviously I'm not supporting Tesla taking a stance against that
Starting point is 00:59:46 just weighing up things you know this car reading reviews and obviously I've never bought a car in my life ever yeah I've bought a secondhand car of a mate and they got hand-me-downs I reckon buying a car's it's stressful so stressful
Starting point is 01:00:02 what are you even people that just want to me just like I have acquired a car. I'm just like, well, what about people that just get one and then don't test drive it? So, this is the thing. Because I was like, I'll go secondhand, I've always thought buying a new car was kind of crazy, because the moment you drive off the car yard, it's worth less
Starting point is 01:00:18 and less every day. But I do want an electric vehicle, because I was like, it's time, and I don't want to have to buy another one again, you know. So, this is the bit that I found crazy. I go to this car yard yesterday, and I've booked in a time, can I come and try this out? Turn up there, hi, meet, meat, meet, meat, meat, takes a photo of my license, drives me around the block,
Starting point is 01:00:36 and then he just gets out, he's like, yeah, you can just take it for a bit, 20, 30 minutes. I was like, what are you mean? You don't even know me. You don't even know anything about me. You've taken a photo of my license. It felt so naughty being in this brand new vehicle, driving off around the bloody North Shore,
Starting point is 01:00:56 la la la la, la, la, king of the castle. I was like, how have we, have people just been doing this all along? And then I was like, could I. Yeah, it's wild, this is. This car I would say is like mid-range. You know, it's not super expensive, but it's not cheap. It's mid-range. And I was like, could I just go to Porsche?
Starting point is 01:01:14 And just not to buy, just be like, I want to try a car? Would they do the same thing? I feel they might take it a bit more seriously. I walked in, tattoos up the legs, no makeup, gym gear on. They're not letting you take a Lamborghini for 20 minutes. I was like, where does it stop? Can we go and test drive a Lamborghini? I'd be too scared to drive it.
Starting point is 01:01:33 I just, because you know how I don't... I love to drive a Lamborghini. You know how I don't have a car? And sometimes I need to like do, like get cars to do little earrings. Could I just test drive? You've got a full license. Test drive. Take it for like an hour, do the supermarket shop.
Starting point is 01:01:46 No, they... It's usually like 15, 20 minutes. Ah, right. You could do click and click, though. Okay. You could do click and like, you literally could. I was like, I went to fire this when I got a motor home once. I walked in the light here at the keys and here's how you do the stuff.
Starting point is 01:01:58 Have a good trip. I'm like, where's the adults? I got to be trusted with this. This is truck-sized. Yeah. It just blew my mind. I felt so naughty. I kept pulling over and being like,
Starting point is 01:02:11 then I put my, hooked my phone up to it because I've got, yeah, the sound system's very important to me. Yeah. You've got to be able to hear Z-M all day. Of course. And, um...
Starting point is 01:02:19 Does it have Apple Car play for the I-Hart app? It does. Yep, I checked all that. Fantastic. Someone messaged in. My friend and I go and test drive cars all the time. Whenever she's in New Zealand, it's a fun way of having a day out
Starting point is 01:02:30 and driving different cars. Guys, I am going to... Someone said they went to the high-end cars, they went to a European place. Oh yeah. And they said they always go with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:42 Because that's what I thought. He had drive me around, because I'd never driven an electric vehicle. He'd drive me around and then would swap and I'd drive with a route. Yeah. But he was like, because he was like, do you want me to show you the...
Starting point is 01:02:51 You know how electric cars have that real fast picker? Yeah. Do you want me to show you? And he was like, I was like, yes. And then he goes around a corner where there's like, no cars, big wide, open road. It just floors it. I was just like,
Starting point is 01:03:02 Like a roller coaster I is just going to zero. And then he was like, have a bit of fun with it. When I left, I was like, what, so you just think I'm going to be fanging around these streets in this car I don't own? I signed something, I don't know what it was. You drive all the time. But when you drive somebody else's car, it's fun.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Yeah. Like driving, sometimes you're just like, man, I ought to drive it. What a slog. Yeah. But then sometimes you drive somebody else's car, you're like, fun. Yeah. So that person who tests cars just for fun, they make up stories and everything.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I mean, that's so my idea of a fun time. Triss up. Then they're always pestering. you, when are you going to buy it? It's like, do you give them a fake number? Well, I actually, I mean, I've test driven this, and you know I'm very impulsive. I think I'm just going to buy this car.
Starting point is 01:03:38 I really like it. But I am genuinely now like, I think I'm just going to try my life. I've got a free day on Saturday. I'm going to go to Porsche. I'll get dressed up a little bit. Put on some concealer on my pimples. Cover the tattoos. And I'm just going to be like, can I take it for a test and see what they say?
Starting point is 01:03:51 I bought a Mustang without test driving it. I driven to the car yard to replace my breaking down car. It broke down next to the Mustang. I'm like, that's a sign. I'll take it. and can you make it quick, I'm in the middle of organizing my mum's funeral. Oh, you're not in an emotional state to buy a Mustang? Your mum just died.
Starting point is 01:04:04 Perfect time to drive and buy a Mustang without driving it to test it. I love that. I honestly feel like if my mum died, yeah, I'd be driving straight to Mustang and being like, I think this will help. This will help for sadness. Anyway, what a fun experience. It's so funny, I'm turning 37 in a couple of weeks, and I still have these adult experiences when I'm like,
Starting point is 01:04:21 it's crazy you're letting me do that. I know. That's insane, man, I'm a child. Play's A ZM's, Flesh, and Haley. ZM. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. It's Deptho do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. It's Depths week here at Fact of the Day.
Starting point is 01:04:46 On Monday we broadcast 33 metres underground at the Auckland City Rail Link. And so we're doing depths all this week. And also all this week, Fact of the Day is bought you by say Piers. Fact You know what You know what made me remember All the fish and salmon You've been eating from St. Pierre's with all the Omega 3
Starting point is 01:05:08 Great way to get it Great way to get your amegas And today's sushi that has eight pieces of California roll Lovely That's classic What makes of California? Remember we talked about this
Starting point is 01:05:18 It was invented In California No it was actually in Canada Yeah But it had California vibe For all the American tourists It's like Hawaiian pizza was invented in Alaska.
Starting point is 01:05:30 Yeah, silly. Anyway, it was Depths Week, and today we're looking at free diving. This is where people just go underwater, and they go, keep going underwater, and they keep going more and more underwater. Yuck. The world record still standing is 253.2 meters in an Austrian free diver called Herbert Nijt. So that's free diving, no tank, no breathing apparatus, and just usually a line, eh, that they follow so they don't get lost.
Starting point is 01:05:56 Yeah, so this is in the no limits discipline. which is weighted, you get weighted to go down and you get to the bottom and you unhook the weight and inflated an airbag and it pulls you up. But you are on that line and you've got to stop yourself. Every, how often do you have to stop yourself every so often to decompress? And also the nitrogen bubbles builds up and you get the bends and it's called compression sickness. Yuck. So on the way down, all good.
Starting point is 01:06:20 He was weighted. He got down. On the way back up, he passed out due to nitrogen narcosis. Oh. Which is like the bends. the nitrogen bubbles in your plane so I put him to sleep and he missed the scheduled
Starting point is 01:06:31 decompression stop and he floated right to the top and that caused him to have multiple strokes Oh dear Doctors told him he'd be wheelchair bound for life But he left that And said no I'm not going to be wheelchair bound for life
Starting point is 01:06:43 And he rebuilt his own recovery program And now he could walk and talk And guess what? Still free dives No, why would you do that? I know I was a sign Yeah no
Starting point is 01:06:52 When something nearly kills someone And when they get better They're like I'm going back to it Yeah You've done it, brother. You did it. You've done it, brother. Give it a break.
Starting point is 01:07:01 I remember when I did underwater there and back in a 25-meter pole. I was so proud. You went there and back. Yeah, you can. Holy shit. I remember trained up hard and I could just get there. You're just got to train up and keep doing it. Nah.
Starting point is 01:07:15 Wow. Too many party darts on the weekend. You know what I'm? My love, mess at that one. Yeah. Well, that's the deepest underground, sorry, underwater someone's been. the deepest underground a human has ever physically been is at the Njongpin gold mine
Starting point is 01:07:33 you'd know this because it's in Johannesburg Yeah I've been there, yore Have you been down the mine? Not that low, no interest in going down that low Too far No, too far You can't get the car down there It's way too far
Starting point is 01:07:45 Way too far It's been mine for gold And it's currently four kilometres below the surface And still expanding It takes over an hour to descend to the working face of the mine. Oh, no thanks. Via multiple
Starting point is 01:07:59 elevated transfers plus a walk. Guess what? The rocks down there can reach up to 60 degrees Celsius. Oh my God. Do they just work in like nothing? Are they topless? They're sweating.
Starting point is 01:08:12 Shveting. Hot enough that the ice slurry has to be pumped down there just to keep the air breathable because it's pretty much like working in an oven. Yeah. And guess what? Ours happened down there in 2017. Exploded.
Starting point is 01:08:23 An Ecuadorian marathon run and ran a half marathon inside the mine. I just think some people like, it's all good, we can just say hi. Do you know, I'm just like, running a half marathon in general, crazy and same. Running it in the heat of a mine, four kilometers. You're mad. You're absolutely mud.
Starting point is 01:08:39 We've all got dreams. Yeah. But mine are much smaller than that. Running a half marathon in an oven. No, slowly baking. Slowly baking. Slowly baking. Four kilometers underground. So today's fact of the day is that the world free diving champion
Starting point is 01:08:53 record still stands at 253.2 metres underwater and there's a South African mine that is four kilometres by the surface that people work. Not news to me. Ne. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. Oh, do-dood do-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Play Z-M's flesh-fallen-hailey. 0-800-Diles at M. 696. Have you ever found anything really bizarre, unusual or cool? Like you just stumble across something? You always hope you do. Like those people at the beach and they just stumble across like containers or ambergris, whale vomit and they just make thousands of dollars. Gold rings and all sorts.
Starting point is 01:09:42 No, we bought a house when I was young and the old lady had left the basement full of things and there was heaps of cool shit in there. Some of them I still have now. Oh wow. treasures and things. Yeah. But no, not like out and about. I've always wanted to.
Starting point is 01:09:56 Well, the thing she's found has made me, Google, what's the difference between a woolly mammoth and a mastodon? Holy show. So this is a woman just out on a hike. No, it's a geologist. Yeah, she saw it in a creek. So she was a bit like, that's a bit different. Because I'm a geologist, I do rocks.
Starting point is 01:10:10 Yeah. See where I'd just be like, rock. Rock. Funny looking rock. Slimy rock. Slimy rock. Slimy rock. Slimy rock.
Starting point is 01:10:16 And what is it? Rock, rock, rock. It's a mastodon tooth. What's a mastodon? Well, a mastodon. Well, a mastodon and a mammoth were both large, hairy, ice age relatives of modern elephants, but they belonged to different genera and had distinct diets, teeth and body shapes. So it's just been in this river.
Starting point is 01:10:31 Preserved. For like thousands of years? In this creek. For how long? Well, they don't know. How long was the mastodon? Well, this is, I mean, it's kind of like, look at the size of this tooth. There's a human handholding the teeth.
Starting point is 01:10:43 Oh my God. It's more than one. It's multiple. They're massive. A bit of jaw. They look like, um, this. Why are they so pointy? They look like the size of big kumera.
Starting point is 01:10:54 Like five of them in a row. A pointed kumra. They're all kind of knobbly like that too, aren't they? Yeah. They do have a sort of a kumera-esque vibe. You wouldn't want to be in those jaws. Dude, I don't want to be in that jaw. Or no, they're plant eaters.
Starting point is 01:11:08 Oh, yeah. No, but I'm saying if you were a cauliflower, you wouldn't want to be in those jaws. Yeah, and shout out to our cauliflower listeners. Yeah. Good morning. Please stop eating our cauliflower listeners. Yeah, please stop. That is, what a find.
Starting point is 01:11:21 The upper left molar of a extinct Pacific mastodon. Wow. Okay, well, I don't think anyone's going to... I found a little bottle. Yeah, I love finding out of old bottles. I love finding old bottles. Yeah, and I cleaned it up and it's in my bathroom now, decorative.
Starting point is 01:11:33 I love old bottles. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I don't know if somebody's going to have stumbled across something prehistoric. It might even just be like a stone that looked like something. Okay. I'm just kind of here. What cool stuff have you felt? Yeah, we'll accept all of the calls and text for this.
Starting point is 01:11:47 9-6-9-6 to text us. Oh, 800. at him. Sam joins us. Sam, what have you just found wandering about? So I was actually just on the beach, just going for a walk kind of like rethinking my whole life choices. Oh my God. A sad beach walk. I've got a sad beach walk. I'm typically having a sad beach walk and I came across a massive piece of emmifice. It's like bigger than my hand. I can like I can just kind of get my fingers around it. Wow. So that's like, that's like, like,
Starting point is 01:12:19 purpley, crystally stuff. Yeah, yeah. Amethyst is like really good for healing, and it just felt like a crazy sign. Yeah, it's a sign. I immediately looked up the value of this. $2 to $50 per carrot. So it's not carrots.
Starting point is 01:12:36 So it's not... Oh, no, amethyst isn't expensive, but it's powerful. I get carrots at $2.99 to KG. I love this exactly, Sam, and you were having a sad beach, and then this found you. It was what would need to happen. Totally.
Starting point is 01:12:50 And so you just keep it to this day? Oh, it's like literally displayed in my lounge because it's my most favorite crystal that I have and I have a lot of crystals. So you were into crystals and you found it, okay. Sam, are you still sad at the beach? Are you still have a sad beach? Are you okay?
Starting point is 01:13:04 I'm good, thanks. I left that person. Oh, so it's person related. That's nice. It was person related, yeah. That's what the Amethysts wanted. Yeah, most sad beach walks are person related, aren't they? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:15 Sam, thank you. Anonymous has joined us. What is the coolest thing that you've found? Morena, guys. It's not necessarily cool, but it's interesting. Okay. So I work in healthcare and we're doing a routine speculum to test for like yesterday's that sort of stuff.
Starting point is 01:13:31 Up the fadge. And up the badge, yeah. Up the wards and up the fadge. Yeah, that's what I'm always saying. The worst bits the clicking, eh? Click, click, click, click, click. Terrible. And you can feel it clicking.
Starting point is 01:13:43 And then there's always one more click. It's like the roller coaster and then it drops. Yeah. Click, click. It's horrible. I haven't doing them. Okay, yeah. What'd you find up there?
Starting point is 01:13:54 What'd you find up there? I found seven tampons. In one person? In one person? At one time. My God. Did they think that you had that they got absorbed? Did they forget?
Starting point is 01:14:10 She didn't feel them. I don't know a lot about it. She had her period three weeks prior. And just like she didn't feel them. completely forgot that she even used them. So she didn't come in being like something's wrong down there. She just came in for a routine checkup and you stumbled. How lucky is she that you found them then and not six months down the track when it's
Starting point is 01:14:30 slowly toxic syndrome? I was like, how did you not feel that? Could have been an amethyst crystal too, couldn't it? Could have been down there. No amethyst crystals found? No, unfortunately they were just these little red tampal. Hang on. Like I've, listen, we've all forgotten one.
Starting point is 01:14:46 How does seven fit up there? I'm not a huge, you know, I'm not overly knowledgeable of the cervix. The vagina can accommodate a lot. It can accommodate a lot. Then it can. If you think about it, a baby comes out of there. Yeah, true. My thing is so, like, we've all forgotten one.
Starting point is 01:15:04 I don't know how she didn't feel. We've all forgotten one, and then you've got to put another and you're like, oh, that's right, there's already one in there. Seven? Seven? And they were placed, like, up really, really high and, like, around the cervix. Right. Okay, so anonymous, anonymous. How many?
Starting point is 01:15:20 How many before she would have noticed, do you think? Eighth, the eighth you would have heard of it. The eighth or ninth or tenth? I don't know. Wait, Anonymous, what did you say to her? So here you are, click, click. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Excuse me, ma'am.
Starting point is 01:15:36 I think that might be here. What did you say? What did you say, I need to know? I had no idea what they were. They didn't look like tampons. They were like, really. red and soft. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Let's leave it there. I'm about to eat a donut. I'm about to eat a donut. Let's leave it there. I'll be given the jam-filled donut a wide berth. Just plain glass to me. What? I don't want it.
Starting point is 01:16:01 I don't want it. If we done cooler of the week? That's the caller of the week. I love this. Call her of the week. Oh, my God. Oh, absolute wild story from you anonymous. We're going to hook out of the prize.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Thanks to keep us warehouse home of the biggest brands at the lowest prices. All yours. Keep your text is coming in. 9696. The coolest thing that you've stumbled across or found. Craziest thing you've stumbled across or found. Somebody messaged in saying they were out whitebaiting yesterday and they found some whale vomit. Some ambergris, 200 grams of it. It's apparently worth 10K.
Starting point is 01:16:29 What do you do with it? That's better than whitebait. I love whitebait sandwiches. Is there somewhere you take it to get your money? Cash converters. Cash converter. Is that why it always smells a bit salty? Maybe it's a bit...
Starting point is 01:16:42 A poof, a poop. A poop. Our old house was clearing out the garden, found dolls buried in a row. I nearly had a heart attack. I thought they were dead babies. Oh, that's like some kid with some morbid. Yeah, some kind of... Barry my dolls. The woman in the wardrobe talks to me.
Starting point is 01:16:58 Yeah, where have your dolls gone, Susie? I buried them. They died. They did my head. They're all dead. Someone found their marina in the toilet. Oh, wow. They famously don't come out that easily.
Starting point is 01:17:11 We'd have been a small boat if it could park in the toilet. No, your I, you day. Yeah, I know. Speak silly, wasn't I? Yeah, really celebrity. Somebody said that they found, when they were a kid, they found a coin dispenser. You know the plastic ones that clip on the belt
Starting point is 01:17:28 and the old boy used to be like, clip, clip, clip, clip, clip. Oh, yeah, the bus conductor. So, and it was, I picked it up, took it up with my jersey. Yep. Took it home, called the place when I got home. Turns out it was part of a taxi robbery.
Starting point is 01:17:38 They got the prints off it and they called the guy. Whoa. So that was pretty cool. That's so cool. Cool. My husband is a surveyor and he once found somebody's LSD stash had the dot paper too.
Starting point is 01:17:54 It was awesome. Sunglasses on emoji. Oh, okay. Did you think they took a... They tried... Oh, maybe. I don't know if I... Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:04 I found a Coke in a vending machine that somebody had paid for but then forgot to take. Under the lid was a thing for another free Coke. Me. So I had another Coke. And then under that third Coke, guess what? Pass off. What's what? Third free coat.
Starting point is 01:18:15 I was a 12 year old. I was a 12 year old and I had three free coats. Yeah, that'd be the greatest day of your life as a 12 year old. That is literally probably still still to this day, the greatest day of your life. A motorbike buried in our garden. Always thought it must have been used for something very notorious. Yeah. Do you think they got it going?
Starting point is 01:18:32 Well, maybe. I reckon it's one of those ones. You're like, wow, when you're a kid. We should get it going. It was just filled with dirt. Oh, sorry, someone's mom died. Why are you laughing? You don't laugh and then say sorry about that.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Someone's mum died. Sorry, I'll finish the message. Yeah, I reckon. When my mum died 13 years ago, I was clearing out our spare room and found two gigantic vainy dildos in a way, newfound respect for mum. Get it, mum.
Starting point is 01:18:58 Wow. Vaney and big. Yeah. Mum was a connoisseur. Someone I know as an electrician found a $25,000 diamond ring in a ceiling. Wow. New owners, and it was a deceased estate.
Starting point is 01:19:12 Oh, I would have kept it. Shut your mouth. Shut your mouth. Found my will to live last week. That was pretty cool. Man, where'd you find it? Maybe on a sad... Maybe on a sad beach walk.
Starting point is 01:19:22 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's an amethyst. Worked for a building company assigned to repair an old house after a flood and when they removed the wall linings, they found a set of dentures in the wall. That was pretty cool. There's some old mate. It's like, I'll leave these here.
Starting point is 01:19:35 I just had my lunch and then puts the jib on. It's like, damn it. Blah, blah, blah, blah the hell, man. We wanted to, we wanted an open plan kitchen When we moved into a house in 2010 It was an old house So we ripped out a wall Found an urn with ashes of a woman inside the wall
Starting point is 01:19:54 We managed to find her family And they said she wanted to be left with the house No No, I'm sorry, no No No If you sprinkle her in the yard then Yeah
Starting point is 01:20:03 I don't want a woman in my house It doesn't believe in an open plan kitchen No, exactly I don't want a woman who's a fan of walls you know. Yeah, and seeing me doing all my things that I do in my house. Somebody said, we've been a 1930s motorbike under my house. Somebody else said, my husband found a baggie of coke at the toilet at the cemetery.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Went to wash his hands, came out and said, what's this? It's good. It's cocaine. Wild. Somebody. Doing coke at a cemetery is wild. What a wild? What are you there for?
Starting point is 01:20:33 You're in a cemetery to bury someone or visit someone. Put some fresh flowers on and give them a bit of a spritz. Yeah. I love it. You reckon they're doing lines off Nans. Could be in last night's jeans. And they've gone for a way and they thought all died going out. There's cops everywhere at this winter.
Starting point is 01:20:48 Or it's a morning funeral and they're just heading back to the agency lunch. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Somebody said apparently... It's a well-known insurance fraud to bury your motorbike and claim they were stolen. Oh, really? Yeah. Because they're never digging up your lawn to find it. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Interesting. We found a massive jar that had a huge pickled pasta up in it. Oh. I'm pickled parsnone. Didn't even know you could pickle pastin. No, Nathan. I didn't like a giant one in one jar. When we were kids,
Starting point is 01:21:18 mum and dad were renovating and my brother and I found a bunch of candy floss in the walls. Must have been off because, man, that made us itchy for days. That's good stuff. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flesh for it and Haley. You're an avid Apple Watch user Fletch. I am.
Starting point is 01:21:36 You often upgrade. What's on my wrist. I don't know if that's what you call an avid. user. No, but you like, follow your stats, you sleep with it, Instagram.
Starting point is 01:21:44 Oh, me sleep is this. Oh, my V-O-2 Max is shut down. I know. He's like, my three score was only 92. Mine's like, not good enough,
Starting point is 01:21:53 flex, bro. And then he whips himself when he doesn't get a good enough sleep scorer. He gets you're a naughty boy and he wax himself. Last night, my sleep school was 92.
Starting point is 01:22:00 I got eight hours. Dude, eight hours. How do you sleep? Eight hours. We get up at 4.30. That means, how long did you sleep?
Starting point is 01:22:09 He fell asleep. 8 hours 20. 8. 18. No, earlier than that. Early than that. 20 to 8 he was asleep. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:15 Quarter 2. How? When? What do you mean? When do you do the things that need to be done? Yeah, I do the things I need to do and then I go to sleep. He's not. I think Zah's doing at 820.
Starting point is 01:22:26 You know what I mean? Just take someone to Pound Town in the afternoon and he's in bed. Yeah, I know. Well, look, if you've got a sleep score of 94, come at me. I need to go to Poundown to yesterday and get the bed to like quarter to 10? Yeah, too. Your V-O-2 max of 63.9. thanks to the watch.
Starting point is 01:22:40 It's all there. I'm still visiting pound down at 10. For God's sake. Where are you getting pound down at 10? It was a late night. Anyway. I didn't go to bed at 10 when you wake up at 4, Hayley. You can.
Starting point is 01:22:50 Case 1 and case 2 you can. It's not good for you and it's aging. We're here. Mental health. Absolute. Listen, there's all the Apple launching stuff, you know, the phone and the foldable, this, that and the other thing. I'm not getting the foldable phone.
Starting point is 01:23:04 I'm not getting the foldable phone either, but I do want that burgundy phone. Yeah. Want it, but I just got a new one. Apple's new Apple Watch Series 12. Lots of features, lots of cool things. And one thing that employment lawyers are calling a grey area, this is a feature. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:23:21 It is. It literally sends a shiver down my spine. It's called Live Rewind. So. You could rewind time? Kind of. Imagine that. How it works. Everyone would be doing it.
Starting point is 01:23:33 How it works is you double press the side button to see a text snippet of the last 15. 15 seconds of speech, meaning it's always listening. Oh my God, you could win an argument. I didn't say that. You actually did. You are a fuddly bitch. 15 seconds. It's right there.
Starting point is 01:23:50 I can't call you a fuddly bitch. Do you want me to play that back? You are a fuggly bitch. 15 seconds isn't long enough. I need 15 minutes. Of listening constantly and it could play you back. I could literally leave. We could have one of our chats and I'll leave and be like,
Starting point is 01:24:05 boy, write that down. 15 minutes of it. Or no one that employment lawyers are calling that dodgy. Saying it's such, yeah, it is. Oh my God, listen to this one too. Siri Recap generates higher level conversation summaries for later review. So you could have, oh no, no, no, no, that's a conversation of Siri. I was like, oh, is it going to summarize the conversations I'm having with other people?
Starting point is 01:24:28 Being like, yeah, you were unruly there, Sproul. You were completely unhinged and it was not fair to him. Yeah. So it's just listening. It is just listening to you. Apple says no audio is recorded or stored. Anywhere? And transcripts don't identify who's speaking.
Starting point is 01:24:46 Wow, okay. I don't like this. There's some states in the United States that are going to have to look at the, you know, recording people without consent, without them knowing that they're being recorded. By the way, they're totally listening. Because yesterday, I was just talking about,
Starting point is 01:25:04 because I haven't Googled or searched anything. to do with the mattress that the cat pissed on. Yeah. And like that happened 10 days ago. Yeah. I got the stuff, I planned it. It's almost back to normal. Yesterday I was just talking about the fact,
Starting point is 01:25:21 just talking how long the mattresses last. And then last night, all I got was mattress ads. Yeah. Should we do a test? We've done this before. We've talked about something we talked about guttering on houses. Okay, let's try something so out of the blue. And then we'll see by tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:25:38 It's something that people would advertise online. Okay. Suspenders, like pants suspenders. No, that's not, it's not nice enough. No one's advertising suspenders online. What about hedging? Let's talk about hedging. Good hedging plants.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Like, what's a good hedging plant? I'm a grizzalini guy. I'm looking for it. I'm looking to start my landscaping, and I'm really interested to know where I can get good hedging in Auckland, New Zealand. Or who could do this? landscaping for you. Who could do the landscaping?
Starting point is 01:26:10 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Where can you bowl buy, hedging? I really want to do him hedging, but I don't even know where to start. Hedge. Grizalania alternatives. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I really want some hedging. Cushing. The hedges. Although, you actually have been going on air about cutting born cutting images. I talked about it, but I haven't looked
Starting point is 01:26:26 up anything because I have a friend who knows how to do hedges. Well, let's see if Google advertises that or Facebook or Instagram. You want to get those hedges done soon, actually. It's about to rain. Yes, you do. Yes, you do. No, you do. Who's the you? in the situation.
Starting point is 01:26:40 I'd give up on Vaughn Ever doing your hedges. It's gone so bad Dr. Shawnee's coming over to do them. The Z&M Podcast Network. What's going on? ZM's Fletch, Vaughn and Haley. Okay, it's been a while since we've done this, the impossible phone and topic. We want to know from you,
Starting point is 01:26:59 and it's probably so impossible that maybe won't get a call, maybe one or two, Matt. But some people, maybe their parents own an Airbnb down in a filming location or a bloody Queensland or whatever. And the question we want to ask today for the impossible phone and topic, has anyone famous ever stayed at your place?
Starting point is 01:27:17 Yeah. I mean, maybe they stayed there before they were famous. Because Taylor Swift... Are we taking that? Sure. Okay. Taylor Swift hosted Machine Gun Kelly and Dakota Johnson at a New York City apartment because they went out. But also like, get your own place.
Starting point is 01:27:33 Also, Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly in the apartment, yeah, two rich people. Get your own place. Go get a hotel. Like go get a five. a hotel or an Airbnb. So the two were seen arriving separately at her apartment over the weekend
Starting point is 01:27:47 and they've been hanging out. They're not seeing each other though, are they? They've been hanging out. Romance rumours are swirling. Really? MGK and Dakota Johnson. And they were staying at her place and they left the next day.
Starting point is 01:27:58 A weird sleepover at a billionaire friend's apartment in New York. I'm sure she's got staff that would do all the cleaning or do you think Taylor Swift had to wash the spare sheets? Yeah, I don't know. Like when you come over and say my spare bedroom. Are you always washed the sheets? It doesn't, that's a reflection on the sort of muckiness that somebody took into the bed.
Starting point is 01:28:16 You just always wash the spare sheets. As soon as someone leaves, I'll chuck them on the clothes holes. But I can't imagine Taylor Swift getting out the clothes horse in the apartment. How big is your clothes horse that can handle a sheet? He's got multiple. I've got multiple, big ones and little ones. His close horse is. You got a big old clothes horse?
Starting point is 01:28:30 A girthy clothes. A girthy clothes. A good and sturdy. I upgraded the clothes horse because it was too small and skinny and now I can get multiple. Yeah. It's an art. It's an art. the clotheshorse hanging.
Starting point is 01:28:42 It's an art. It's really beautiful. Okay, well, 0800 dials at him, the impossible phone and topic. I mean, this was a famous person, hosting a famous people. Homing a famous people, for sure. Hosting a famous. Persons. Has anyone famous ever stayed at your house?
Starting point is 01:28:58 0,800 dials at M. Well, it's been a while since we've done the impossible phone and topic. It's been a while. And today the question, have you had anyone famous stay at your house? because Taylor Swift hosted some famous friends. MGK, Machine Gun Kelly and Dakota Johnson, and they were having a big night out and stuff. And normally you'd think it'd be the other way round, right?
Starting point is 01:29:21 Like, you're staying at someone famous's house because you went to school with him or something, I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So when my friend went over to stay at the Victoria's Secret Model's house in New York, she was like, it's crazy, man. It's crazy. Anyway. It's crazy.
Starting point is 01:29:37 That's a story for off-game. Let's say that offline. Offline. I want to hear more about the Victoria's or something. Lizzie, good morning. Who, who, who, who, what famous people stayed at your house?
Starting point is 01:29:48 Good morning. Um, there used to be this show like 25, 25 years ago called Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Yeah. And we had, um, Robin Malcolm and some of the Matrix people and then Susie Kato come over Oh. Oh my God. Amazing.
Starting point is 01:30:03 This was the one where, um, Suzanne Paul would rock up with that, um, guy with a really good boy. Yes. That's exactly right. Yeah. That's exactly right. Yes, whose son turned out to be a piece of shit. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:30:15 Don't raise your hand with me, Fletch, he was. Was he? I don't think, you can get into that in your own time, boy. Lizzie, and so did they stay the night, though? No, that's the only caveat. They didn't 12 hours. They didn't stay a few hours. They did not say the night, I know.
Starting point is 01:30:32 They had a meal. So did you have to cook for these people? Yeah. Oh, really? What did you cook them? I think we made, um, let's see, there's a lot. lot of us in the town. I think we made tacos for everyone. Yum. Hot play.
Starting point is 01:30:44 It's a big one. It's a big one. It's a big one. It's a big one. Okay, Lizzie, that's great. I mean, I reckon Robin Malcolm was contractually obliged to give him she was a TVNZ star at the time to do so many. TVNZ shows.
Starting point is 01:30:55 She's like, God damn it. She's like, just want a weekend here. Robin, we're filming guests who's coming to dinner on Thursday. We're going to have to fly to Gisbon to do it. Lizzie's going to host you and she's making tacos. Rob Malcolm was like, God damn it. Love that.
Starting point is 01:31:08 I mean, it's not who you'd expect to have in your kitchen. Is it? Really? Just a bunch of celebs. Great story, Lizzie. We love you, Patuk. It's a half-acceptance? Half-accepted. It's still impossible. Okay, because it's... Okay, okay, thank you, Lizzie. Don't feel bad about this because I'm about to read you some soon and you'll be like, why did they even bother? Contribute.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Oh, really? Okay, well, no, we're asking. We appreciate all the text and calls. Angela, what famous person did you have stay at your house? We had Sam Neal stay at our house. Oh, RIP. RIP. We lost him just recently, didn't we? I know. actually stayed the night?
Starting point is 01:31:42 Yes, he did. It was 1974. It was the Commonwealth Games in Crashich. Okay. And my uncle worked for the National Film Unit, and Sam was working with him, I think, as a camera assistant or something. Must have been in his early 20s.
Starting point is 01:32:00 So pre-the-piano, pre-like him going absolutely crazy. Pre-jurisy, pre-dress. Through sleeping dogs. Yeah. And because we live near Kiwi-2, so and the accommodation obviously was a bit rubbish and crushed at the time so they stayed with us. Wow. So you remember that Angela wouldn't have put you as someone that was alive in 1974?
Starting point is 01:32:20 Well, no, I was 18 months old, so I was very fresh. Apparently, he held me and bounced me on his knee. Oh, that's cute. That's cute. That's cute. And now, of course, he gets mega famous and everyone's like, he stayed at our house once. Yeah, I bring it out all the time. I bring it out all the time.
Starting point is 01:32:37 Oh, that's brilliant. Thank you. Some messages in. Elijah Wood stated our Airbnb in Castle Hill a few years ago. Oh! Elijah Wood, throw a day of back in himself.
Starting point is 01:32:46 In the early 2000s, we owned a motel. Wait, sorry, just to follow up, what did he rate you out of five? Oh, actually, good question, then, 9-58. What did Elijah would rate your Airbnb? What did he say in the... Comments?
Starting point is 01:32:57 Did he have any notes just for the... Just that you can see? Just for the provider, the host. Yeah, that'd be nice. In the early 2000s, the own a motel, Nijian Mystic, Z, and Shafu. Oh. Does that count though if you own in a large motel?
Starting point is 01:33:12 I guess it does. I can't even. I'll look at it. If you live on the premises, it's technically your place. That's your fodder, yeah. Lord stayed at my house before Royals popped off. We were all in high school. She was friends with my little sister. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:33:24 There you going. Kimberra stayed at mine, remember? Timmy Trump. Yep. Timmy. Timmy trumpet stayed at our place during the Rugby World Cup. He was overdoing doing a promo for Blackberry. And the organizer had left it really late to organize accommodations,
Starting point is 01:33:36 so booked us down our spare room. Timmy trumpet. Do you think Timmy trumpet flew all the way of everyone was like, sorry, what, a room in someone's house? Where's my hotel room? Blackberry phones. Oh, shame. Aren't they like done?
Starting point is 01:33:51 Well, they are now. And where are we staying? Did they bring them back? Did they bring them back as a smartphone? They were the original smartphone. I know, but then back as a... Nah, I don't know if they did. That movie rules.
Starting point is 01:34:02 It rules Glenn Howerton is so good. So good. Brilliant movie. C-sore Sam. said just on Instagram saying Jim Cutty from Blue Rodeo. Dude, love my mum's caramel popcorn. I don't know if that's an innuendo
Starting point is 01:34:14 and I don't know who you're talking about. Have you ever heard of Blue Rodeo? Georgia probably as are a country station. Probably. She's abandoning us if you missed that move. The person, see, I opened this one and I saw Keisha Castle Hughes. That's a big gap.
Starting point is 01:34:27 Big name. The person who made Keisha Castle Hughes's dress for the Oscars stayed at my parents' house. I mean, it's lovely dress, but no. That's, yeah. Maddie McLean sat at my mom and dad's house a few weeks. weekends ago. Did he? Is this because he crashed as part
Starting point is 01:34:42 of his 40 before 40? He crashed a birthday party? He may have, yes. But did he have to stay? Goodness. Well, where else is he going to go? It was in the whops, I think. Bruce McLaren, like, of McLaren. The New Zealand, like, race driver and car like legend, you'd think that's a good get. Bruce McLaren's little sister. It's not the same. No, we won't be accepting
Starting point is 01:35:04 that one. Millie messaged in saying William Pike, look him up. So I did. And I don't know which William Pike you're referring to because there's a few. There's a horse jockey. There's a motivational speaker. Okay.
Starting point is 01:35:16 I'm not excited by it. No. I don't know who you're talking about. We, I said someone else said, not famous, but we live near the local pub and a teacher stayed on the couch because she was two booze to go home. Famous in town though.
Starting point is 01:35:29 Famous in town. Oh, you guess you fell in my couch. Legendary story. The N-N podcast network. Auntie Anns is coming to the country, New Zealand. We're getting our first one. I hadn't even heard of this place. So it's a popular American food chain.
Starting point is 01:35:46 Also Carvel. Carvel. I've never heard of that one. That's also coming to Auckland's Westfield Newmarket. Very similar to when Cinebonne opened. Now, I think one of these just opened in Australia and people went nuts. Basically, they, they, do big pret, the britty pretzels?
Starting point is 01:36:08 Reddy pretzels. Producer Gillies, you're excited about this. I hate pretzels. Oh, you guys are so wrong. When you said this this morning, I was like, I've never felt the ick harder for you three. And when you said you don't like delicious. I just feel like them boring.
Starting point is 01:36:22 They're boring and dry. They're boring and dry. You're not boring and dry. Yeah. I am. They're honestly the best, over the break I made breedy pretzels for the first time. It's quite hard. It's very usedy.
Starting point is 01:36:32 No, just real easy to make. It's just one kind of good. go and then you make them. We made four different variations. We made a cheese and herb. We did a chocolate chip. I hate the little crunchy pretzels. Wrong. Snack pretzels. Wrong. And the big pretty ones,
Starting point is 01:36:47 they used to have them in the hut when we grew up. Breitzelmania or whatever it was called. Remember that place, German place? Auntie Annes has more than 2,000 locations worldwide doing the hand-baked pretzels. Pretzel dogs and lemonade. That's what they're famous called. Pretel dogs, let's go. Like a hot dog and a pretzel.
Starting point is 01:37:03 I was talking about hot dogs before. I haven't had a good one for a while. I had a hot dog for dinner last night. It was so... There's a hot dog over the weekend. I've got to sell my fridge freezer in the garage and remember we got given all those wieners. No, I've already still got mine. Mine have packaged up frozen. I was like
Starting point is 01:37:19 far out why they send us 9,000 weeners? They said there's so many weas are they sweet the big pretty pretzels? I've had this when I was in New York years and years ago. They have both. There's like a pepperoni, there's a cheese, there's a plain bowl, there's a
Starting point is 01:37:35 Cheesey brezels. There's like a bread brettzels. Yeah, I just try to have pizza. Cream cheese in like stick form. Yeah, that's the thing. If I'm going to go that much carbs, pizza or something better. Or rice, yeah, burger. The bread.
Starting point is 01:37:48 Sandwich. I don't like pretzels. I don't like those, you can get those little snacky ones. Those little, like, chit-chip ones. They're the worst. They're gross. So, so dry, you can. But you guys eat crackers like nothing.
Starting point is 01:37:58 Yeah, dipped in chamas. Have you ever seen me eat crackers? When do you guys have how many shakouterie boards? No, we eat the cheese in the mafers. They're wafer crackers. Don't make us cracker people. We barely eat crackers. I'm just using a cracker to get a dip in my mouth.
Starting point is 01:38:13 Yeah, exactly. I'm making that cracker soaking wet. I'm using it like a spout. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We decided on a, a quickie little poll today. Do you like pretzels? You had a fight this morning. Since Shannon slapped me, she punched me this time.
Starting point is 01:38:28 Yeah. Cookie little poll, do you like pretzels? 72% of people like pretzels. Crazy. Really? We didn't specify. bread or snack? Breadie pretzel or snacky chip pretzel.
Starting point is 01:38:39 Yeah, either way. There's always just a better option as well. Someone brings out a bowl of pretzels at your party. I gotta go. You want a pretzel, a brettie pretzel, why don't you just don't have a cinnamon bun? Yeah. Like a cinnamon bun.
Starting point is 01:38:52 Yum. All right, jemma said they're too dry and too salty. What's the point? Yeah. Someone said too hard, taste like nothing. Get stuck in teeth. They're meeting the little ones, aren't they? Yeah, they're making the little ones.
Starting point is 01:39:01 I love the chalk covered ones. Says Carol. Oh, she's talking the snackies. Okay. Briden said we had these... That chocolate's shit too, eh? When you go to the pick and make... Shit chocolate.
Starting point is 01:39:11 We had these as dessert at our wedding. Was such a win. Oh, wow. Okay. Guttered it wasn't invited. Just because there's pretzels. You're going to write someone off, Haley. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:25 That's how strongly you feel. If you tell me there were pretzels at your wedding, I've got a whole image of your entire wedding. I know nothing about you. Both soft and crunchy pretzels the bomb, says Tash. New Zealand doesn't really have the soft fresh pretzels like they do over the season.
Starting point is 01:39:39 There's Britschamia in the hut. Now we do. Wow. Pressed flat pretzels are even better than normal ones. I'm assuming bag of little bite-sized pretzels, not the big, strange, soft ones. They think they're strange. She's like pressed flat?
Starting point is 01:39:50 Okay, press it flat. Well, it's already very faint. I just don't know what's going wrong in the world. Why are now pressing flat out of crispy dry pretzels? I said no, says Ania, but I haven't had the soft-bake ones. I think I might like those who have never had them. Absolutely hate those. little crunchy ones.
Starting point is 01:40:05 Yeah. I mean, similar to when you're, the, um, beer houses, right? Like beer fest do them, don't they in Germany? Because you've got to wet it up with like jugs of beer. Yeah. And then they're just literally, they're absorbed beer. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:20 Waffle cook a little pot. We asked if you like pretzels and 702% of you like pretzels. Hey guys, apparently being the company's most successful podcast isn't enough. They want us to tell people to tell more of their friends. So people are clearly liking it, but we have to tell them to tell other. others to like it. I would concentrate more on the shitter podcast that the company makes. Yeah, same. You know the real losers out there. Same. Yeah, like, no, no, no, we'll just... Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:42 Maybe we won't say nice. Maybe we won't even encourage people to listen to other podcasts that the company makes. Oh, no, but only after Alves. Yeah, nah, no, don't do that. And not more than ours. Give us a sexy little review though. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
