Starting point is 00:00:00 from the ZM Podcast Network. This is Fleshwin and Haley's Big Pod. Brought to you by Chemist Warehouse. The biggest brands of the lowest prices. Fletch Fawn and Haley tosses. Back at 8 o'clock your chance to win cash. Bit of peer pressure yesterday. It worked though.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Didn't it? She was happy to take the Hyundai. She was like, listen. Well, got her too, Hyundai, didn't we? Got her two. Well, your chance to call through 8 o'clock this morning, we'd give you $100. You can take the money, or you can toss it, heads or tails, I really want to see somebody get to $1,600.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Same. Everybody's dropping balls. $400. I know. It's a lot of risk. Take four. $400 sounds pretty sweet. I know.
Starting point is 00:00:42 It's a lot of money. Confirmed $400. I just got my power bill. It's about $400. That would be got. Just like that. I've barely been home. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Well, coming up on the show, when you've got the top six soon for us, this was absolute news to me yesterday. Me too. I was yesterday old. I was yesterday old as well. which is nearly 37. Yeah. Heart doctors,
Starting point is 00:01:05 that is doctors from upper and lower heart, not doctors who specialize in treating Jabber the Heart. Hot doctors are using green, well, these sorts of clarifications are of course required. I would have gone for a tree hunt joke rather than a jabber. Yeah, I would have said like a dock. Yeah, a dog heart. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Yeah. We're different people. Or a pizza. Had too much moose at the machine. Green flashing lights to urgently reach hospital amid bad traffic. So I saw this news story yesterday. That's what the lights do anyway? No, I saw this yesterday.
Starting point is 00:01:37 If there's a car behind you, it's got a green flashing light. It's a doctor. It's a doctor. Or a midwife. Midwives can also use them. Yep. And if you look in your rear view mirror, it's green lights that sit up at the bottom of the windscreen with,
Starting point is 00:01:49 and they are supposed to flip down their visor. Viser, and it will have doctor written on it. Oh, okay. I didn't know that was a thing. Neither did I. 9696. Did anyone else just learn that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Because like I feel like... Why, you pull over for the lights anyway? I feel like that should be a thing we're all told. Or are we told about it in the road code and I've forgotten because it was so long ago. That's not in the road code. Okay. I've never seen that in the road code. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Well, the top six dealing with this. The other top six flashing lights. People need to get through traffic. Now, Fletch just quickly. Tosses yesterday, Gemma, 1600. She did. Oh my God. I missed it.
Starting point is 00:02:23 She's the top of the leaderboard. Oh, this is fantastic. I know. Now, we've got to give away. 3,200. Oh, that's right. Bring it on, Brian Clinch. The ZRAM
Starting point is 00:02:34 Podcast Network. There is some love to be sent out to the people of Oriewa in the high-biscous coast of Auckland. Yesterday. Oh no. Okay, this is just reported. Last week,
Starting point is 00:02:48 there was a woman. She was at the New World Oriewa and she was in the car park where she collapsed. Oh, goodness. And died. Well, Haley, this is. This isn't a great way to start the show, is it?
Starting point is 00:03:00 Hold. What a grim... She comes back to life! Oh, okay. She's back, baby. By herself or did they get one of those... They call it the Express Jesus. It was Christ.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Okay. Christ came down. He was like, not today. Oh, dear a woman, 54 years old, a mum who died in the car park. Oh, goodness. A stranger performs CPR on her. Restarts the Pulse, as you do. We've really got to do that CPR course.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I know. We were offered. Yeah, we were offered. Because if one of you collapsed in a car park, Parker, just probably like, ooh, it's not kiss. It's not going to be me that collapses. A vaughan collapses. No, hey.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It's giving big you or vaugh. It's giving Vaughn than me then, yeah. A stranger performs CPR restarts her pulse and then vanishes before even being able to get thanks. So thank you to whoever that was. See, if that was me, I'd be like, name. You'd hang around. Something you want to say.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Oh, look, we're just right by a new world. Maybe a box of chocolate. Maybe un Prusakou and some flowers. Oh, I see you are alive, 54-year-old mum in the audio car park. She's rushed to the North Shore Hospital by ambulance after being brought back to life by her stranger angel. Her car stays in the car park, limit 90 minutes for five and a half hours. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:04:19 While she fights for her life. And days later, she gets an $80 parking fine from the smart compliance management team. Wow. For overdoing the 90-minute supermarket car park, then I was like, no one really checks that to they. No, they do. The supermarkets contracted out to these companies, and they're ruthless.
Starting point is 00:04:39 These companies just troll the car parks making money. They have one of those cars that they drove around, that scan all the other places, and then they just come back 90 minutes later and see who's still there. Or people just come around and mark your car, yeah. Do they still do a chalk on tire? Chalk on tyres are old-school. The council does.
Starting point is 00:04:57 I used to just go outside, I'd lick it off and then... Yeah, even the council in Auckland now has the cars that drive around, the little Suzuki Swifts, and they've got like 18 cameras on them. I saw one of them yesterday, and it was driving up Hobson Street towards the motorway at 20 kilometres an hour. Now, I know you're checking the cars, but you're also on the road. With other road users, I aggressively overtook, because I was like, you're not giving me a speeding ticket, are you? They ripped the fingers?
Starting point is 00:05:24 They drove past me as I pulled into a... roadside car park but hadn't yet paid. I was like, oh yeah. They don't pay me for this. No, because they go past and then they'll do another lap. And if you're still there... No, they talk to the little machine. Don't they?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Doesn't that camera capture everything and checks with that machine which is constantly updating who can be there or not? Or maybe it co-labs at the end of the day. Should you get a 9-6-9-6 on that? How does it work? So listen, she gets this $80 parking fine from the new wheel car park, the people that run that. Cost the living.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Yeah, yeah. So obviously she appeals. She appeals. And they reduce it to 30 bucks. She's like, Soz, I left my car there for over the limited time. I died. I died.
Starting point is 00:06:09 And was brought back to life. I am now alive. New World came in and were like, come on, you know, get rid of it. We're so sorry that this has happened. They released their car park to these companies. There's nothing to do with them anymore. Oh, very distressing.
Starting point is 00:06:24 So the supermarket owner, demanded it was withdrawn. I believe it has been now. These car parking companies are pricks. Yeah, there's some public apology. So, you know, we apologize as added to the stress of, you know, dying in a car park. Dying, I would imagine, could be quite stressful. Did she collapse after shopping because of the price of mints? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Yeah, she was like, she got the full bill. She got the full. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can I, on mints? Yeah, can I give a red-hot take? Mm-hmm. This is, I won't say where, but I compared the price. of the butcher's mints to the supermarket mints.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Exactly the same mints. The butcher had it for $30.99. Sorry, the supermarket had for $30.99 a KG. The butcher had it for 22. Wow, that's good. You said this to me before, but I've been to the butcher and it was expensive. I had chicken mints last night.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Welcome. Because you chicken mints. I had chicken mints, and I was scoffed across the board. I made little Asian lettuce cups, just general Asian. I think I put a bit of Japanese dressing with some sweet Thai chili and, some Chinese five spice. So I really...
Starting point is 00:07:27 Why didn't you just say Asian fusion? Yeah, I fusioned the Asia. You fusion. The continent of Asia. All of the Asia. With the chicken minced. It's a lot. Chicken minced, not bad, eh?
Starting point is 00:07:39 Not bad. I went fancy chicken minced. Why were your lettuce cupping? Trying to be treats. Did you have wine though with dinner? No. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:50 See that bag down there? That's my gym bags. Wow. You won't be collapsing in a supermarket car park anytime soon. I will be able. It wasn't enough calories. I'm dizzy. Play ZM's flesh,
Starting point is 00:08:00 one and haley. From the unmoderated comment section, this is the top six. Yield! Good sir, yield! If you see a green light flashing in the windscreen of the car behind you and you look in your
Starting point is 00:08:15 rear of your mirror and you see a little green tag that says, doctor, on the sun visor. That's what you must do. This has been in the news the last 24 hours. Yeah, it's the thing. And everyone's just like... But they've been around for a while. Yeah, it's like in the road rule.
Starting point is 00:08:28 So if you do have a green light, like you're a doctor, a midwife. Or someone like needed to get there. Yeah. You cannot go above the speed limit, but people have to get out of your way. They have to yield and give way to you. Yeah. Yeah. It's a thing.
Starting point is 00:08:47 I'll be using it all the time. And it's been a thing for ages. I've never seen one of these green lights. Hey, guys, maybe tell the rest of us. Hey, hey, that FYI, maybe a little FYI would have been good and I would have been pulling over for these green lights. But it's in the, it's in the road code. Just looking at this, this malling interchange.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Oh, God, that place. So it's like, there was. That was a visceral reaction from someone with a connection to Wellington. Because there is, there's the Hurt motorway that goes all the way from town to Upper Heart. But in the middle between like Petone and Upper Heart, there's lights. So you're fang in a hundred and there's something. It's like, slow down, be itch, and you've got to stop. And it's off, off, it's the worst.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And melling is the pits. So the malling interchange is sort of the design and everything, but they're saying for the next few years, while this is being done, doctors can expect the sort of traffic in the heart area. So that's why the hunt doctors are using these green lights. So be on the lookout. Be on the lookout for the green light.
Starting point is 00:09:43 And give way to the green lights. I've got the top six other reasons you need a flashing light in your car. Sort of, you know. I would say on par with the importance of doctors. Okay. Number six. on the list. Red light and yellow light. Oh, okay. It's you've just picked up the Mackeys.
Starting point is 00:10:01 And you've got to get home before the chips get cold. Yeah. Yeah. No one wants a sort of steamed nugget. No, no, no, no. You want the crisp nuggets and that you, you know. I'd pull over to let someone have a nice warm Big Mac at home. Yeah. Especially if they've got a, like, a Big Mac and a Sunday. Because we've got a melt and a cool down. It's a situation. The Sunday's handed to you separately. Keep those far apart. Put the Sunday and the cup holder in.
Starting point is 00:10:25 This is why I'm a dining guy. I'm sorry. Take it. When I purchased my house, I purchased it within 20 minutes. Yeah. Of Maccas. And now all this expansion in urban sprawl means I can't get harm. Cold chips.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Number five on the list of the top six other reasons you need a flashing light in your car. Brownie green light. Okay. Browny green. Yeah. Like a chattroes. Like a vomit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Like a vomit. Because you're a parent that's got a kid that's just declared they're feeling a bit sick. Yeah. Yeah, they've been a reading or on their phone or something. I feel well. You've got to get home as quick as possible. Pull over, pull over, pull over. I'm going to have a...
Starting point is 00:11:02 As someone who's had a kid vomit all over themselves in the back of the car, it's pretty rough when you've got to be stuck in the car with it for a little bit longer to get home. Maybe don't have them. Yeah. I've never had my kid vomit in the back of the car. That's an option. Have you ever vomited in the back of a car? No, I wasn't a vomiting kid.
Starting point is 00:11:18 I pissed everywhere. Perfect. Number four on the last of the top six. otherwise you need a flashing line in your car. A blue light, you've realized it's just started spitting and you've got washing on the line. Oh, shit. Let's get home.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Okay, yeah. Let's get that home. If we can get it off the line quick enough, I reckon we'll just pop it for either five minutes in the dryer or just in the hot water cupboard and it'll take care of that. I've had a skirt and a pair of pants on the line for six days, just getting wet, dry, wet, dry. You know those when you just leave it here.
Starting point is 00:11:46 And then when it's finally dry, you bring it in, you're like, po. That stinks. I think I've got a, we're growing mold here. Number three on the list of the top six other reasons you need a flashing light in your car Purple light Oh Don't they have purple?
Starting point is 00:12:01 Did they? Like house movers? Yeah, house Or are they orange? Purple and orange. There is a purple flashing light But add this to the purple You forgot to pick your kid up
Starting point is 00:12:11 From somewhere like sports practice And you're racing the kidnappers to get them Oh yeah, great, great, great Okay, so in New Zealand A Purple and Amber or Yellow flashing roof light on a vehicle indicates approaching oversized load that's wider than five metres.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Wow, okay. Wider than five? That's wider. I found a roof-mounted orange flashing light once and it just worked. You just plugged it into the cigarette lighter in your car and the wood. Man, we got past so much traffic in that.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Do you know what I passed yesterday, just side note on an oversized load, a ginormous tree being transplanted. Roots and, like, I'm talking huge. Three times the length of the stucing. studio, huge thing lying down covered like this. What kind of tree was it? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I couldn't see. Big tree. People get so like, just plant a new one. No, it takes a minute. How long that would take to grow? It'll get there. You'd be guided if it died, though. It'll get there.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Oh my God, it was amazing. I was up never so mad. You'd need a sprinkle some fertilizer in the hole. Yes. But it'll be water. But all fertilizer will do it well. Number two on the list of the top six other reasons you need a flashing light in your car. Brown flashing light.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And at number two is the desperate. Need four a number two. Oh, yeah, fair. Yeah. We've all been stuck in the car needing to use the toilet. Oh, God. Looking at that paper bag on the ground thing and that looks good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:30 And number one on the list of the... I don't... I wouldn't trust the paper bag. No, plus you... What else have you got? What else have you got? You're taking all of the macas out your life. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:13:39 I'm so sorry. You're going to get cold. Number one in the list of the top six other reasons you need a flashing line in your car. And the number one is a pink flashing light. You forgot to get the chicken out to defrost for dinner. After making a big deal about not... forgetting it this time. Like you're probably going to have to put it in a bag and put it in a sink of warm water as it is. Yeah. And you're going to know the whole time being like, I don't know if I did
Starting point is 00:13:59 this properly, I'm going to get sick. We're about I can need that brown flashing light back in at number two and maybe even that with that spew one for the kids later. That is the ace top six. Play Z-M's Flesh, Vaughan and Haley. Well, META, Facebook, Instagram, the evil metta. The overlords. The overlords have patented something for their smart glasses, which are technically. journalists have picked up online. So these are the glasses that, there's like a Rayban version, Carly Jenner did a design,
Starting point is 00:14:28 they've got cameras in them, you'll be able to see shit in the lenses. You'll be able to see shit in the lenses, messages, emails, you'll never unplug. Yeah, and this is what this patent looks at, and this is what people are concerned about because its latest patent is all about facial recognition in the glasses. And they're used,
Starting point is 00:14:51 use an example in this story of a dinner party where the user is wearing the glasses and it offers the ability to identify. Oh my God, thank God. What do you mean? I'm so bad at names. Oh my God. I'm so bad. I haven't thought of that. That rules. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, who's that? It's like Jennifer Lawrence and you're like, oh my God, thank God. Oh, I forgot and it was Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah, I forgot all about that. So in this example, the user wearing the AR glasses is surrounded by several people and they're saying that the assistant would use facial recognition
Starting point is 00:15:26 to determine that one person is a user's wife and assign her greater interestiness. Huh. The camera could then center on her while other people are excluded from the frame and blurred. Whoa!
Starting point is 00:15:41 Or it could pick up on people laughing at a party and focus on them because of their interestingness. Whoa! Oh my God, I hate to be around me and a pair of meta glasses. It's not... Absolutely dominate those things.
Starting point is 00:15:54 It's not just recording a room. It's going to start... Like, prioritising, yeah. Interpreting a room and identifying things. And this is the whole... It's kind of the whole debate is where the people can opt out of being... Part of this.
Starting point is 00:16:07 ...searched in a database. Get out. Of your likeness and... I don't know. This is kind of what... It's one step too far. I get it. I get it.
Starting point is 00:16:15 I like the name thing. We went black mirror. The TV show was like first on all those years ago. I know. I was like, wow. The matter of sex to that pig And that was the first one They got everyone
Starting point is 00:16:25 And it was all like The future I always remember the episode Where everyone had their ratings The social ratings Yeah The social ratings And you could
Starting point is 00:16:32 And wasn't that glasses Or no It was their rating Was above their head You could see it Something like that Yeah But it was through some thing
Starting point is 00:16:37 In your eye Well there was some glasses Thing that rated everybody Yeah I mean that's kind of What happens in China Right You have a social score
Starting point is 00:16:44 And you can't travel If you don't pay your bills And your scores above Like that below a certain point It is terrifying. Like to be in a room and know that people are wearing these glasses and they're doing so much more than we expect. I'm not, yeah, I won't be getting any.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Because I've got perfect vision. Well, you say that now. I don't need them. But yeah, very terrifying. I'm sick to reading glasses and that's it. I wonder if there is some kind of paperwork, you know, that you as a human being can be like, I don't want to be part of the database.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Well, I guess maybe you just delete everything online, but then it's all out there now, isn't it? Yeah. And you're a kind of a profiled person, all your photos are out there? Yeah, that is... Maybe we need to start building that bunker in the middle of nowhere. Starting.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Starting, starting now. One's got foundations late. Yeah, we're going to his. I've got bunker, I got bunker ready. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flesh forne and Haley. Today's silly little pole. What would you rather
Starting point is 00:18:08 What would be worse for you if it got out? In your group chat Would it be the memes Or would it be the messages? Oh, it would be the messages Definitely For sure in our group chat But the memes are pretty horrendous
Starting point is 00:18:19 Well, some of them are dark Some of them are dark We have dark days But you know what, they're private chats They are private with a level of understanding Yes This and you push me I don't mean that
Starting point is 00:18:33 You know, but we just have a We're having a laugh. Yeah. Yeah. We love our scenic vistas and it's like this and you smash them in the back of their head with a stick. And then there's a river and you're like, yeah, some days. A cliff, this is dark. This and you're pushing me.
Starting point is 00:18:52 You shoving me. If the group chat was leaked, what were you worried about getting out there? The messages or the memes, 76% of people said the messages. Yeah. 24% of people said the memes. But there are some dark, horrific memes. Some of them you're like But you laugh
Starting point is 00:19:06 And then you're like Am I horrific? I wouldn't have made the meme No But I liked it and I shared it You know I laughed and I shared it So I
Starting point is 00:19:13 I tautoku the meme Yeah You know we support it But Which makes you as bad As the person who made it Silent bystander Tiana said
Starting point is 00:19:25 Both However myself and my two friends Have a group chat Called Kuga Chat And my Lord If anyone saw the memes We shared Would be banished from church
Starting point is 00:19:32 Oh Kuga chat Van is from church. She then said in brackets, we're heathens. We don't go to church. Oh, okay. Oh, right. But if you were ever to step foot,
Starting point is 00:19:39 you would combust. I'm happy to see some of those memes, some samples of those memes. No judgment. Bring us into the chat. We're actually really fun to be in a chat with. Speaking of no judgment, Penny said we have something called the immunity necklace,
Starting point is 00:19:50 and if someone says it, you cannot judge them for what they're about to say. Right. We would be absolutely effed if the immunity necklace has got out. Okay. Feel like our friend Mike in the group chat needs the immunity necklace. I don't know. It's good, it's in some stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:07 You know, there's a lot. Need some stuff. Laura said, the voice messages are the most incriminating. Oh, you're hearing. Because you're hearing it. Yes. Just and I do disappearing voice,
Starting point is 00:20:17 so once you've heard it, it goes. Oh, really? It's too many people involved. Right. You know what I mean? Yeah, dark. The face swaps in some of the chats would get us cancelled, said Luke. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Luke. Who are you swiping? We're doing digital blackface, Luke. Your self-in-faces. Memes says JS, definitely. They're very highly inappropriate. Sometimes I look back at them and I'm like, well, that's not appropriate. But in the moment, but you know it's not.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Exactly. And you've actually just caught me in a very Chinese stage of my life, you know? Yeah. I love those. Sorry, you've just caught me in a very Chinese stage of my life. Tessa said, yes, all of it. I can't even answer it. Please don't hack me.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Zach said, I think memes can say a lot more. these days than words and also be taken out of context. I don't think so. I think we're all following and enjoying dark memes. Yeah. It's my experience, but that could be my... Well, the world's a dark place. You've got to find the funniness.
Starting point is 00:21:18 You've got to laugh, we cry. laugh at some dark stuff to put it all sort of like in context. The very questionable reels that get shared would have us, maybe in front of a human rights tribunal says ash. You didn't make them though, ash. And also they're on the platform. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is it that their excuse?
Starting point is 00:21:35 That's a Zuckerberg problem. Memes don't kill people. People, no, that's not right. Yeah, no. Something about guns and memes. There's a comparison there that a smarter person can put together. If your group chat was leaked, what would you be most worried about being out there? 76% of you said the messages.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Play ZM's flesh phone and Haley. My apologies to the woman yesterday who received a big fright from me. Yesterday I went and got a massage. More on that later. I felt like I deserved it. Post-tour, you know, something to unwind and relax and just feel good. Yeah. Jokes on me, more on that later.
Starting point is 00:22:12 But afterwards I was sort of shook a little bit and I was wondering around and I was actually on the prow for some sashimi. Oh, okay. I was just in the area and I was like, oh God, I just want to hone some salmon. Really? Like yesterday we've just discussed before your Thai fusion chicken mince lettuce bowls that you described as generally Asian. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yesterday you got a Thai massage and I'm a hunt for sashimi. Sashimi, you're really grounding with the continent of Asia yesterday.
Starting point is 00:22:41 They do provide so many wonderful things. Be it food, rubs. Cheap plastics. Cheap plastics, all sorts. Yeah, I love that. So, yeah, after my Thai massage, I was looking for Japanese sashimi, didn't find any. And so I was called up in a kaffaful. I was a little bit sore from the massage.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Again, more on that later. and I was walking up the road where my car had been parked and get to my car and I've got one of those, you know, I don't want to say, but my Mazda has one of those things when you walk close enough to it with your keys, you can just sort of push a button and open the door.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Oh, yep, yep, yep. So you don't need to boop, boop that. Oh, yeah. So I was like, oh, and when I get into my car, I think both of you would have witnessed before. When I get into my car, I've got my handbag, and I kind of fling it in. That's what I do with my backpack,
Starting point is 00:23:27 I just open in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I grab open the door to my car and I open it and I go turn like this and I smack my bag like this. And it hits something. It's a woman. And this is not my car. It's her car. She's in a master. Oh. And she goes, ah! Like this. And I was like, oh my God. Like this. And the kid goes, um, there's a kid in the bag.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Coasterous. Did you smash the kid with your bag? Wait, so. Oh, she was in the passenger seat. No, she's in the driver's seat. I'm on the road. side, getting into the driver's side. So this is full carjacking. I'm carjacking and she's been smacked.
Starting point is 00:24:06 You're lucky she's not a South African. Because, you know, they've just got this built-in reaction. Yoch. To carjack. To act. Just act. Gotta get you. You will not take my car.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Hit the button. And the flames come out of the side. Yeah. Imagine this woman's present. It was beautiful sort of chilly afternoon yesterday. She's just sitting there in the car. Apparently she's wondering for my husband. She was wanting for her husband, right?
Starting point is 00:24:29 Well, it's your husband now. You've jacked okay. You've got your husband as well. I've got him. And she would have just been sat there and suddenly a door flings open. And I'm not subtle. I don't sort of open a door. It was your giant bag.
Starting point is 00:24:40 No, your handbag. Deadly pony. It's a handily bag. No, go on. No, that was like, I just opened the door and she would have just been sat there and had a door open. She was probably, she was waiting for a house. She wouldn't have been having some nice quiet phone time. I think she was.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Nice little deep scroll. Yeah, I know. So she screams. The kid gets. gets upset because mum screamed. Yeah. And I just am panicking like, what? Because it's the same colour car.
Starting point is 00:25:06 It's the same Mazda. I was like, oh my God. And I just go, oh my God, I'm so sorry. I said, I'm so sorry. I thought that was my car and I looked ahead and there's my car parked in front. Right in front of hers? Yeah, it was like one more.
Starting point is 00:25:17 And then there was no cars between us, but there was a gap. Same color? Yeah. Navy blue. Similar number plate? Don't look at the number planes. It's Navy Blue Mazda 5. I love seeing a similar number plate in the world.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Yeah, like RRZ. Hello, that's me. Must have been in the same ward. Yeah, yeah, it must have. Yeah, it must have. Yeah. Similar, yeah. Nice. Nice.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Nice. That's beautiful. And so as this is happening, and I start apologising and I was like, holy God, there's a kid in the back like this. There's a rubbish truck. And he was like trying to, you know, he went into the median strip to sort of like do something. And he'd witnessed the whole thing. He was just pissing himself laughing because he saw exactly that there was an identical master right in front
Starting point is 00:25:57 that I hadn't gotten into. I was so embarrassed. Did we get names? Did you, you're like... No, I got really kerfuffled. Yeah. You know, I was just like, oh my God, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Oh my God, there's a kid in the back. She's like, no, it's funny. She's like, because I thought it was my husband. I was like, I'm sorry I hit you. And she was like, no, no, it's fine. I said, that's my car. She said, yeah, obviously. And then I just sat in the car.
Starting point is 00:26:20 And then did you say, must be nice, though, you know, a celebrity jumping in your car. Yeah, God, you must be star star star star. It must be out of my arm. TV's Harvey Sprague. Must be nice. because I'm doing quite well for myself and you're driving a similar car.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Yeah, yeah, yeah, it must be sort of measuring your success against mine. And this woman's like, who are you? Yeah, yeah, crazy. I mean, do you want a signature or whatever you want me to go? You want to just leave you? What station is your radio on here? I'll just jam a couple of... No, I just resets the presets for you.
Starting point is 00:26:43 I was so, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. And I got into my car and then I sort of sat there quite left my head this way as she drove off. I was like, leave me. Don't look, don't look. Leave me, yeah. My apologies to her and the kid. The husband, I don't know what happened to him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:58 The whole thing was true. It's a nightmare. Play ZM's Flesh, Forne and Haley. Now, I produce Carwin, to believe you've received some correspondence via your work email. Yes, I have. God, it better not be HR.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Like, I just can't. You know what I mean? I just can't. It's cold. It's busy at the moment. What is the temperature you've got to do with it? Is that why you're cuddling up to people behind? Yeah, we're sort of snuggling into people's necks.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Getting arms up. Like, you're backpacking. You're just jumping on there. Getting some warmth from Shannon every now and then. Okay, well, maybe I will be getting an HR email after this. Oh god, let me stop talking. It wasn't an HR email, actually. It was
Starting point is 00:27:34 an email from Julia from a clip. Excuse me? Julia. Julia? Julia. Okay, it's about Julia, but with a why. On her signature she's put, she's put, said Julia. Like Julia? Like me and Julia.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Yeah, down by the school. Yeah. Wow. Tried so hard to say it right. I've said it wrong, probably. That's okay. And then we kind of, we kind of, we kind of go out. We, we mucked in. We mucked in. Well, she's not going to be a fan anymore, is she? Oh, no, we're a fan. Potentially a fan because she came across our break,
Starting point is 00:28:07 our video that we did last week, talking about the stuff in your bloody handbag. Oh my God, do you know what? I only just, that came, I was watching the reel. I like to watch our reels every now and then, actually. I just like quite an entertaining show. If I wasn't on it, I'd be listening. I finally, on Sunday, just gone,
Starting point is 00:28:27 took that butter jar out of my bag and put it in the dishwasher. That's disgusting. Because you emptied out your bag and there was a whole lot of rubbish in there. Yeah, rubbish, expired goods. Still? Yeah, but the butter jar's out. Okay, great. Yeah, all I wanted was a little padadol
Starting point is 00:28:41 and I had to be going through your bag of, yeah. Well, she was horrified because she works at Eclipsements and she was... I love me, Clipsmints. Extremely unhappy to see that you had such a light shake noise coming from your can because for this, they like when there's not much of a shaking noise because they're full.
Starting point is 00:29:01 There were two at Fletch asked for one and I said no. It was wild when you only had two left for Fletch to one, that's a half of her remaining. I know, but still, I was... Oh, that's a light shake too. Got to hewn them, eh? You do hoon them? Yeah, but they're not expired, those ones.
Starting point is 00:29:20 The last ones were. Well, see, this is also the thing. She was shocked that yours was so expired. and she agrees with me that she thinks that maybe there's something to do with the dates. Like why are they expired? I don't know. I don't know. They've been sat there for quite some time. Maybe it's not the dates on the ten,
Starting point is 00:29:41 it's the dates of the people you're with. I think there's a correlation of maybe something that's happening here. What are you calling us expired? It's a bit rude. Critics have said we've overstayed our welcome on New Zealand's airwaves, but I think to call us expired might be. Are you, you sound like that chick Who was doing the dating by the bloody The numerology
Starting point is 00:30:00 You know what, maybe she's convinced me Maybe I'm getting a woo-woo with the dates and things And you know what? She's even saying, could we get a Bryn opinion on this? Oh, a Bryn opinion. A brand. A brand, yes. Our psychic.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Our psychic. Oh, you used to read of Bryn is also dabbles and psychic. Oh, I see people are really clinging to anything for love, you know. I've been out looking, talking to people around the country with my show Sproul and the prowl about love and everyone's looking. I saw someone said the other day, do you know why Travis Kelsey, Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift do so well?
Starting point is 00:30:35 The aura colours are similar. Ooh. Of course. So the number on this one is. Toyota aura. They get similar sort of matching coloured Toyota oras. Taylor Swift, no offence. Doesn't drive Toyota.
Starting point is 00:30:49 It doesn't drive. Oh no, you're a Ford. You're a Ford. Yeah. It doesn't drive a Toyota. Okay, well, there's nothing wrong with the Toyota. The numbers on this, unexpired 17th of December 26. That's got a nice few months on it.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Yeah. Well, I don't bulk purchase and you're just slowly getting through them. I don't know. No, I just get them all the time. Well. Am I allowed one this time? Yeah. I like the tins.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Yeah. Yeah. Well, this is where our new friend is coming into place. She's going to be sending us a bunch of boxes. And did you know, they come in six different flavors? Yeah, I do. Great. Yum.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Great. Getting a bunch of boxes. Six different flavors. Okay, that's just good. For any of your upcoming dates. And what do you want, what do you want, Brin's psychic cousin? Cousin brother?
Starting point is 00:31:33 Yeah, I think we need to get Bryn on board and see if he has anything to do. A little read on the numerology on the tins. And maybe we could get our friend on here as well. I mean, there's a lot of numbers on here. That had the numerology. Can we ask our new friend? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:47 At a class. Julio, Julio. No. So there's, no, you start. up the name, we're going with it. So there's the expiry date, but there's a time. 503. So at 502 I can eat them in. Can you check with Julio?
Starting point is 00:32:00 At 502, I'm good to eat them in, but 503 have got to go in the bin. Oh. You know what I mean? No, that was the time it was made. Production time. That would have been production. I'm sorry, that says best before and it says the time afterwards. That's a late production time, hey.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Like, clock off. You know what? The Eclipse factory, they're working too hard. Or is something going to happen at 502? That's when you're going to meet. That's going to meet your future husband. It's like your Cinderella. It's midnight. The ball.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Wait. 17th December, let me look it up in my calendar. What are we doing on this? Well, there's a lot of Christmas parties. It's Axel Rose. 503, I'll be getting in there. Yeah. God, I wish I got Axel Rose a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:32:44 He's sort of... Also, people like that crowd, if you want to meet anyone in that crowd. Yeah. I mean, I am also going with my new boyfriend. So ideally doesn't get ditched in the mosh part. Okay, the 17th of December at 503, 2026. That's when she's going to get engaged. I'll be walking in the gates.
Starting point is 00:33:02 That's when the engagement's coming. Oh my God. At Guns and Roses. Romantic. I think we're putting too much way on this turn. But if you want to get psychic brand to tell me if at the 17th of December 26 at 503, I'm going to get proposed to it, Guns and Roses, let's get them in. Play ZM's Flash for it and Haley.
Starting point is 00:33:24 Gen Z, 18 to 29-year-olds, have the top end reporting, experiencing a mid-life, a quarter-life crisis. Yeah, yeah, yeah, welcome. A term that I don't believe existed until millennials had it. Yes, you're right. Do you reckon? Yeah. Oh, mid-life crisis.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Yes, mid-life crisis was like... The mid-life crisis is the ongoing. That's your Burmas and your Gen X has had mid-life crisis. Post-a-Bor's dad, buying a convertible and getting hair plugs. Well, you got a Mustang, didn't you? Yeah, yeah. hair plugs fell right out. The hair plugs didn't work.
Starting point is 00:33:54 I just got to do it yourself off Timo. It was hot glue. It was the hot glue. That was never going to last. He waxed the back strip that still grows and he was just bloody plugging them in and we were like,
Starting point is 00:34:04 what are you doing? It looks terrible. I'm like, trust me. I'm just bleeding everywhere. It'll take. I'm a little light-headed. So researchers have surveyed 2,500 young adults
Starting point is 00:34:13 across eight countries. So this just isn't like a one specific country. The UK, Greece, Turkey, Brazil. What have they got to worry about? Oh no. Oh no, my badonka's too tight.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Yeah, I'm too hot. God, I'm so hot again today. Oh, no, I'm snatched. Oh, I've got light eyes and brown skin. Oh, my God. Indonesia, India, Pakistan and the Czech Republic. Kilda. 30% of Gen Z respondents in every country
Starting point is 00:34:40 reported being affected by what they could say was a quarter-life crisis. Greece was higher and India was higher yet. It's 77%. Really? Yep. Wow. So basically it's they feel locked out while also feeling locked in. Yeah, I totally understand that.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Locked out of things like jobs, housing. Housing. Because they have to, you know, be educated and they have chosen a career path. So they feel they've got to stick to it because their options outside are limited. Yeah. They might be in a relationship. And they're just getting to that time of their life where they're just like, this isn't quite going how I thought it would.
Starting point is 00:35:15 I'm going to do something crazy. Welcome to life, dude. Which used to be a midlife crisis thing. because it was just the set and done thing. You left school, you got a job, you found someone that you could stand. You had babies with them. Then the babies got a little bit older and then you had your crisis. But it's happening younger and younger.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Yeah, for sure. Did you have a quarter-life crisis? I had a mini one when at 26, after 10 years, I took up my nose ring, and I panicked that people wouldn't think that I was cool. And I remember that, that was more of an identity crisis. Yeah. I was like, oh, I've become a vanilla wafer, and I used to be a spicy taco. I would say I'm probably having a third way crisis.
Starting point is 00:35:55 You know, I have had like 12 to 14 tattoos in the space of 12 months. Probably doing that, realizing something. Sort of did burn my life apart a little bit last year. Here we are. Here we are. But no, not in the way of, I'm going to shave my hair, but I'm saving that for mid. Midlife. The midlife crisis, okay.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Yeah, which is, in reality, fast approaching. Every day. My hair is really itchy. today? It could be today. Coming from two people who regularly show the heads, it's very nice. Yeah, I know. It's a low maintenance. It is. And then I'd tattoo my head
Starting point is 00:36:29 and if it shaved, you know, came back, you'd be like, ooh. Well, this is what we want to know this morning. Have you had the quarter life crisis? And how far did you go? What did you do? Was it new tattoos? Was it a new partner? Was it, I don't know. New gender. New gender? Was it just exploring the world? Was it quitting your job?
Starting point is 00:36:47 Surely the quarter life crisis is a big time that you'd come I definitely had friends that were like, who the hell am I? What have I been doing this whole time? Oh my God, I'm a lesbian. Right. You know what I mean? And they just went, oh my God, that's why.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Doe! Oh my God, this whole time? Do I'm a lesbian. And now they happen. Yeah, that would be a great autobiography for someone who writes about that. Duh, I'm a lesbian. I'm not sad. I was a lesbian the whole time.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Well, maybe your quarter life crisis was just a complete career change, a complete, I don't know, 180 on something. Yeah. 0,800 dollars at him. We want to take your calls now. Text us. 9-696. Have you had a quarter-life crisis? What did you do? As the millennials know, the quarter-life crisis. Jan-chan. I'm going to do something radical. So we want to know what was your quarter-life crisis. Maybe it was a big change. Yeah. A new discovery. Like Amy. Amy. Good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:37:45 What was your quarter-life crisis? Well, I'm not a Gen Z. I'm a millennial. But... Well, we invented the quarter-life crisis, Amy, so give ourselves a pat on the bad. Yeah, taking calls from Gen Zs and millennials on their quarter-life crisis. Yeah. When I was 25, I had a relationship breakup after seven years, and I quit my job and moved to Saudi Arabia. Oh, which is really known for its women's rights. Yeah, you just want to place to feel really liberated.
Starting point is 00:38:13 We're seen. Yeah, I mean, I don't think you wouldn't have been able to drive then, because only just a few years ago. No. Yeah. So I'm going to drive. I have to wear a buyers, have to cover up, drive country.
Starting point is 00:38:23 Yeah, that's nice. So I get someone to drive you around. Sometimes I get sick of driver. Why? Why Saudi Arabia? Yes. A work colleague was going, and I'm a nurse,
Starting point is 00:38:34 and she's like, you should come. And I was like, okay. Oh, why not? Wow. And it paid well? Did it pay? Is it?
Starting point is 00:38:40 It did paid well, and I was good for travel and I met my husband. Oh, see, there you go. Maybe we should all just pack it and move to Saudi Arabia. Arabian nights like Arabian days.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Is your husband Saudi Arabian? No, he's not. Right. I could see Haley with a sheik or Saudi Arabian princes. Same. I want 12 children. Driving a G-wagon? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:08 You can be more than a G-wagon if you've got 12 children. There's somebody else driving. I reckon Haley would be a bit much and she'd just chop her head off. Yeah. Just a bit of a week or something. Yeah. Thank you. Amy, thank you. What a way to go, though.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Quick. Dark. Dark. I'm having my midlife. Midlife has started. Some other messages in. Quarter life crisis, turn 30, split up with my partner, got my nose, Piers, got a tattoo, bought a house and found my now fiancé.
Starting point is 00:39:38 It all works out, doesn't it? I'm 32 and I'm leaving the electrical industry to become a police officer. Cool. Minge, discovery, mid-year crisis is a real thing? Excuse. You just can't start a sentence with Minge. She's started with Minge. You can't end it.
Starting point is 00:39:55 You can't end a... You must bury the Minge mid-sentence. Sorry, sorry. You can't start... You can't end a sentence. This message in from a listener who says she discovered the Minge mid-year. Mid-year crisis is a lot now, ever we? She said, lost everything for a year only to gain everything, if you know what I mean.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Eggplant and Oyster. So she's welcomed... You can't end a sentence with a preposition and you can't start a sentence. sentence with Mitch. That's my general. That's one of the founding rules of English. I'll write that down because I'll forget that. Put that in your notes. It's going to be in the exam at the end of the year. I impulse quit my job without a job to go to and then left
Starting point is 00:40:30 the country two days later without telling anyone. I love that. I kind of love that. I love that. I just love it. I reckon that is in all of us to do it. I mean, you've got to have... We're one meeting that could be an email away. Yeah, you've got to have that bank account ready to go though. No, you don't. Oh, you got to have rich mummy daddy. Or move to somewhere cheap.
Starting point is 00:40:49 But people do it. Somebody said their boss is going through this. They just quit. And the only plans, they bought a house at the end of last year. And you know when you just buy a house? That's your every, like, that's where all your money's going. Yeah. Just quit his job, my boss.
Starting point is 00:41:02 And he's decided to train for the coast to coast. And I said, what about after that? And he's like, no plans. Wow. No job lined up, no nothing. I think no plans just would be so kind of nice. Someone said, yes, Haley, I've been there done that, had the crisis, walked past a hairdresser and asked him to shave the lot off.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Do it Demi Moore, I said. And he said, are you sure? I said, go for it. Hurry up before I change my mind. Oh my God, I wish I'd change my mind. Haley. When my dad saw me, he said, hi, son. But I mean, you teed him up for a great dad joke there
Starting point is 00:41:31 and he knocked him out of the park. From one dad to another, he's absolutely home run that one. He has. And someone said also, Haley, be careful. Because I know I want to shave my hair off at some point. Be careful. Some of us have a head that needs hair to cover it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:44 You don't want to shave it off. I mean, that's every bald guy's, like. Worst nightmare. Oh, when you shave your head for the first time, you're like, fuel. Did you read shingles? No.
Starting point is 00:41:53 When I was 25, I had a full breakdown, got so depressed in stress, I got shingles, quit my job in construction, took a job as a flight attendant, came out as gay, best breakdown ever.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Wait, I'm sorry, you went from construction to flight attending. Yeah. From straight to gay. A little about a depression in there for good measure, and now...
Starting point is 00:42:11 Feels like everybody might have known before you did, though. You know? Yeah, like maybe you were cutting around, T-shirts into crops or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, you're high-verse shirts, you cut them into crop tops
Starting point is 00:42:22 and you're mits them around the construction. Yeah. Minge messenger. Oh, sorry, I've ruined the role again. Minge messenger here again. During that outrage, I also gained five tattoos, two piercings, and a reputation.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Oh, okay. I put my job at 22, left a country, two weeks later to go to South Africa to do volunteering. Wow. I love these. I just love that people like, ah, screw it, I'm off.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Yeah, I love it. too? Some of the ones here. Quarter-life crisis was me buying a house on my own and also swapping completely changing my careers into something that was very corporate but still being super successful. I decided to go through the pandemic
Starting point is 00:43:01 and then yeah, have doubled my body count since. I had a bong shop business in Canada for five years. Bong shop? Wait, who's shopping for a bong when you can make your home? What were you doing?
Starting point is 00:43:15 What were you doing before you? You owned a bong shop in Canada. I had a bong shop business in Canada for five years. Within a month, I decided I'd had enough. Left the business to my mum. Okay. Mum's got the bong shop. I can't buy a bong from Mums if it was called Mums Bongs.
Starting point is 00:43:30 I'd like, moms would take great care in making a lovely ball. Yeah. Left the business to my mum with my new Dodge Ram and moved to New Zealand with no job, a backpack. And a credit card nine years later, qualified chippy now citizenship next year and engaged to be married in 2020. Oh, that's so cool. As mum's still got the bong shop, 966. I need a hot update on my... And if mum's bongs has sort of a website,
Starting point is 00:43:55 I'll make an international... I don't even smoke weed, but I'll make it an international order from mum's bongs. Not of us smoke weed, but these... I wouldn't want one in the mum's... Well, you can get one in studio and have flowers in it. What are they sell them as, right? Varses. Somebody said, so back to the gay construction worker.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Oh, yep. Turned flood attendant. Yes, Worn, everyone knew before me. I grew up Jehovah's Witness, though, so I had to suppress Are they still a flight attendant? Because we could get on their staff travel. You know their friends and family get cheap flights? Yes, I do know this.
Starting point is 00:44:24 I only through you and it's ridiculous. Let's get on that. We could go into some kind of quadruple. Happily. Just to get cheap flights. I'll do anything for some perks and hookups. Perks and hugups. I said they wanted to marry you to get some kind of British passport or something.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I know, but I was so grossed out by it that I just can't bring myself to... We'll have to kiss for photos. We're going to have to kiss for photos. Yeah. And cons you make. Otherwise the marriage isn't really. Well, you need a witness? Witness the consummation.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Is that a thing? Can you do it for me? Yeah. No. You said, yep. No, I didn't say yep. I'm not doing it for you. If we're doing it, the only person that can watch is born.
Starting point is 00:44:59 Like, that's it. That's it. And we just keep between the three of us. I know, that's my torch to be. Physically, it just might not be possible, Haley. Right, we, there are tricks. There's tips and tricks. There's all sorts of potions and pills.
Starting point is 00:45:11 You really want a British passport that badly? That's how much I want it. Play ZM's Flesh, Foran and Haley. Well, yesterday afternoon, news broke that Hayden Panetteer had passed away at the age of 36. That's so horrible. I'm 36. And I'll let it be known I'm not ready. You're thriving.
Starting point is 00:45:32 I remember when Heath Legend died, he was the same age as me. And I was like, oh. Yeah, you start to go. When they're the same age as you? Yeah. No, we don't. No, we don't. So she was, I guess her breakout role was a TV show.
Starting point is 00:45:45 heroes. She was in movies around that time as well. Nashville. She was in Nashville as well. She was great in Nashville. She was a little kid and remember the Titans. She was so good. Yeah. But she passed away. They're very sad news. She'd been like a child star and kind of, like lots of those
Starting point is 00:46:01 child stars. Worked a bit hard and pushed. And she battled alcoholism. Yes. And also she, she. Yes. She lost her brother in 2023. I didn't know until yesterday when the news came out. that she'd passed away
Starting point is 00:46:15 that she'd had a hell of a decade and Carlin said she's released a autobiography. Yeah, and she's just been promoting it as well and talking quite openly about her struggles. Yes. And so this is, I guess, why it was a bit of a shock.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Yeah. TMZ reported that NARCAM was found on the bed that she was in. Yeah. Which is what used to treat overdoses. Ovidoses.
Starting point is 00:46:39 I mean, they haven't said officially what's happened, but yeah, it's horrible. But she did, coincidental. get a mention on the show yesterday. Okay, so people started messaging us. How many would you say we've had? Shannon said we were in and dated with messages been like, hadn't thought of this person
Starting point is 00:46:55 for years than you guys mentioned her this morning. Yeah, we had people like swearing at us being like, it's your fault. Oh, that's the Haley Sproul curse. I don't think we're going to give it that name. I don't think that name's going to stick that I talk about them and then they die. I don't think I want to be a sociartite with this.
Starting point is 00:47:11 But you were talking yesterday about someone that messaged in. Well, somebody suggested, sent me a meme, copper-based meme that led to this week's fact of the day theme, which is copper, the medal. Let's listen for the sprawl curse. I've got the audio here. Hey, don't do this. Hayden sent me a meme over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Did he now? Typical Hayden. Oh. Oh, like Panetteer. There it is. Yeah. The only female Hayden in history. We've ever known.
Starting point is 00:47:38 And that was the first time I've thought about Hayden Panetier, would you mention it for a long time? Yeah. Because when was Nashville? That TV show was 20 years ago. I don't know. The page open here. 2012 to 2018.
Starting point is 00:47:51 So eight years since that finished. And she did kind of walk away from the limelight after that. Yeah, she did. It's when she had a child about 28. She had a child who kid's 11 years old and she had terrible postnatal depression to the point where she gave up custody to the dad. Who was the boxer, Vladimir Klinchko? Sure.
Starting point is 00:48:12 The Ukrainian boxer that is. since become like a Ukrainian right. Politiciany war figure. Okay. So do I not... Mention celebrities. Mention people. Especially because for some people listening to the podcast,
Starting point is 00:48:25 like very close to the death. It's almost like we referenced it. But we didn't... It was pre. It was pre. Oh yeah, it was pre. It was pre. Just getting some messages from people of other celebrities
Starting point is 00:48:37 that'd like you to mention. But when we won't, we're just... Oh, no, don't give them... Listen, I was a teenage witch, but I lost my witchly powers at 21. Oh no, because someone said as soon as they heard that she'd passed, they gassed and said Haley knew. So not that much she opposed it, just that you knew. No. You knew it was coming, but you...
Starting point is 00:48:53 No. I mean, I get that message there. We try not to talk about Trump, but maybe this would be the time. Oh, my God. Someone said, I had a dream last night that is basically what you guys are doing right now, addressing the fact that you talked about her, and then she passed away, and now you're addressing it. So they have had a dream that this was going to happen. Well, maybe they're on weeks as well.
Starting point is 00:49:13 What happens next? What happens next? What happens next? Are we winning 15 million tomorrow? Yeah, I reckon it feels like, yeah. Let's get some numbers. Play Z-M's Flash for it and Haley. Well, I've finished my tour and yesterday I just felt like I just wanted to take a bit of care of myself.
Starting point is 00:49:26 I've got my eyebrows done. God, they look good. 10 bucks. Look at them. Tidy. Ten dollars. Was it threading? Yeah, three-dying.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Oh, yeah. They were just unruly. Shari, my lovely friend of makeup artist, called them free range. Free range eyebrows. Free range eyebrows. And because you are a hirsute. Very hissued. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:45 You go for the traditional subcontinent hair removal technique of threading one's eyebrows. Yeah, where often Indian beauty practitioners will ask me if I have Indian heritage because of the amount of hair that I have. And I like that level of understanding despite not being Indian. Eyebrows done, got a pedicure, got my toes done. And I haven't had a massage for so long that I was like, this would be a lovely way to treat myself after working so hard.
Starting point is 00:50:11 And so I booked where I always went Where I always go And I always said to people I've got the place I've got the place Nothing but goodness Oh when you have a good massage place It's ideal
Starting point is 00:50:22 You got your place Well I think the woman who had me yesterday Thai style massage I won't say where Because I've only had good experiences before Obviously Is maybe going through a divorce Or menopause
Starting point is 00:50:35 Or some kind of rage I don't know why she hated me I was nothing but nice to her but she was pure evil. Here's another story of, yeah. No, but this time. Meeting someone and they're the problem. No, honestly, if I go like this and put my shoulders back,
Starting point is 00:50:54 I can feel the bruising up my spine. That's good stuff though. That's release. No, there wasn't, I just wanted to relax. Right, you don't have a, I don't mean sports massage. Yeah, I've been like to the gym three times this year. I don't need a deep tissue sports massage, you know what I mean? And prep for the fourth though?
Starting point is 00:51:09 Yeah, yeah, yeah. The softest I've ever been. I just wanted to relax and I said as much. And, you know, they do a lot of walking and kind of pushing and elbowing and crawling, which I'm used to. I'm like, this is good. How many minutes? Dude, I went 90.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Fletch did warn you off the 90. He said they fluff around for 15 to 20 minutes. Oh, yeah, they start to really. They just draw around a 608. I'm just going to go wash the towels. Oh, I would have loved more fluff. Yeah, no. I would have loved more fluff.
Starting point is 00:51:35 I took a pummeling yesterday. You took a 90 minute hammering. Oh, my God. It was so sore every bit. wincing. She asked me once right at the top, how's my pressure, which we appreciate, and I said it was good because it was at that point. Little did I know.
Starting point is 00:51:49 And then it was never a chance. There was one bit was like, I take a breath. It was no, it was so bad. And I was like, this is so New Zealand. We just sit here. I'm in literal pain. Yeah. She's making my day worse and worse. And the day never recovered, by the way. But why didn't you just say something?
Starting point is 00:52:04 Or a bit, you know, bits all there. I don't know. Because we're too polite. Or a little bit less on the calves. Yeah. Oh yeah, that hurts, eh, when they start going on the carves. But see, when I go for a massage and I'm paying for it, I'm like, hurt me. Because I'm here because I'm tired.
Starting point is 00:52:21 I've got knots. It's not going to be pleasant. I think I just needed some tenderness yesterday. And I said, I'm tender today, but not in the way I wanted. But I was like, this is that Kiwi politeness and we just don't say anything. We'll sit there with boiling hot wax on our vagina
Starting point is 00:52:34 and they're like, how's the temperature? You're like, fabulous. I dare not say that something. not right. Yep. How will we raise like this? This is what I want to ask our listeners. When were you too polite?
Starting point is 00:52:46 To say something. To say something. You're seeing the hairdresser and she's getting short and shorter on that minshund. Oh, I've said the word again. On that fringe. Yeah. Otherwise known as a fringe. And you just don't say stop.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Yeah. Stop. Your food's bad. The food's terrible. And you're like, how's the food? You're like, good. Couldn't recommend it more. The chicken's raw and that's how I like it.
Starting point is 00:53:06 You know, we're just so polite. Okay, well, we want to take your calls now. 0,800 dials at em, text 9696. When were you just too polite to say something? You just sat through it. Because I'm going to get better at it. I'm going to get better at being like,
Starting point is 00:53:21 that's a bit much. I'm an excruciating kind. I think you need to. We're like, oh, we don't want to be rude, but you're not really. You're just guiding. Yeah. Just being like, oh, a little bit tender there,
Starting point is 00:53:32 maybe a little bit less. This isn't what I'm paying a fortune for. You literally could have said just a little bit softer and it all would have been better. I know, but I did it. and then instead now I'm bitching and moaning about it. I'm sore today. The Kiwi Way.
Starting point is 00:53:44 The Kiwi Way. Silent in the moment. 0800 dials at M-696 to text us. When were you too polite to say something? When were you too polite to say something? Now someone said that massage lady's going to die today because of the Haley Hecks. Oh, no. I got a massage yesterday.
Starting point is 00:54:02 It was too bloody much. It was awful. And I didn't say anything. And I'm sore today. We're Kiwi. We're just too polite. Yeah. We'll battle through it.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Mariko. What did you sit through? Morena, Coteau. Morena? I was offered a job that I didn't apply for. So, yeah. So I went through a recruitment company, and I now work for a government agency
Starting point is 00:54:29 that has different departments, so they called me back and offered me a job that I hadn't applied for. Okay. And I was just very polite, and I just accepted it, They said there were no other options. Wait.
Starting point is 00:54:43 You just like have a career that you never wanted? Yeah. Do you like the job? I'm not in it anymore. Oh, okay. Not in that department anyway. But yeah, and then so they called me back and I was like, oh, okay, I'll take it there. I guess it's all I've got.
Starting point is 00:55:00 And then they offered me two different areas. So one was Takapuna, one was Mani Lua, and I had grown up on the North Shore. So I took the Takapuna job. And then they called me back saying, oh, actually, that's not available. You have to accept the money to be a wrong. And of course, that's an easy, that's an easy commute, isn't it? Takapurna and Maniore, are very, so close. And there's no traffic in between them.
Starting point is 00:55:22 I was living at Green Lane at the Burma. Oh, so it was manageable. But, yeah, it was a job I didn't apply for in an area that I wasn't after. Yeah, there'd be so many people that just, they're so good nature and don't say anything that their work would just take advantage of them, that end up working more. doing things that I don't want to do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Amazing. Yeah, I should have been a bit more grave. I don't know a dream apply for that. Yeah, I don't want that job. Marika, thank you. Rebecca, what did you put out with or sit through? You didn't, too polite. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:55:57 I sat through a tattoo, so I had messaged someone, told them what I wanted, walked in, and she had it all drawn out. Put it on my arm, and I automatically hated it. Oh no, no, no, no. No, no, no. No. So you knew before the needle even touched skin,
Starting point is 00:56:16 this wasn't for you? I really did. Did that say, oh my, no. But then I get it. They're artists. You're going to tell them that's rubbish? No, I don't like it. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:56:27 That's the thing. She was so lovely. And I was like, I can't say anything. And so we got through it all. It was only, well, small-ish, probably about five centimeters by five. centimeters. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:39 And I'm currently getting it lasered off. Which apparently is so much worse than tattooing. It is the worst pain I've ever experienced. What was it off? 10 out of 10 don't recommend. What was the tattoo off? Well, it was meant to be a little fine line floral design. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:56 But there was so much ink blowout. The lines were full. She just said it with a little dark. Yeah. Okay. Look like a swastika, didn't it? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:05 You got some of those swast. Almost. I know it's not off pretty quick. Oh, my goodness. Oh, God. Good luck on your laser journey. Yeah. Thank you, Rebecca.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Are some messages in? Oh, there's so many. There's so many messages, the likes of an elderly nurse. Instead of shorting my stitches, she was just straight cutting into my skin. She asked if I was okay and it was hurting really, really badly. I just smiled and said, no, I'm fine. I can't feel a thing because of the numbing. When my sister and I went out for dinner, we both got raspberry and white chocolate.
Starting point is 00:57:36 chocolate cheesecake for dinner. Turns out the white chocolate on top of the cheesecake was actually mayonnaise. They'd mixed up their containers. We still just sat there and ate it. Didn't say them. Jesus. No, you've got to say something. First time meeting the in-laws who went over for dinner for dessert.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Her dad brings out coffee-flavored magnums. Now, I can't do the taste of coffee. It makes me gag. Not wanting to make a fuss. I soldiered through the entire magnum. Suppressing gags as I went. Yeah, goodness. I did the same with my tattoo.
Starting point is 00:58:01 She put it on, and I hated it immediately. It was on my sternum. Ouch. And the lady only told me, If I threw, she didn't be tattooing for three months. Oh, no, she's, wow. Okay. We got back of the leg for that.
Starting point is 00:58:12 I think you're still on the pork. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You still tattooing. Peggagas at that stage. Yeah. I went to a coffee shop every day for a long time. Got a few really great coffees. Then one day they started almost to point of being undrinkable.
Starting point is 00:58:26 I was like, I'll give them a chance. Everyone has a bad day. He kept going back. I was having a bad six months. But every day he asked how it was. And I kept saying, yep, it was great. I got any movies. I love being polite
Starting point is 00:58:37 It's not an option I'm South African Ha ha ha ha ha ha They'll just say it They'll just say it That's too hot Stop! Stop now Oh
Starting point is 00:58:45 I was too polite to say anything When my dad turned on this radio station Oh Oh He's your father I'm sure he can handle the truth We can't You don't know
Starting point is 00:58:57 You don't know You don't know What do you want to go and listen to Yeah My first ever massage As soon as it started I need to pee real badly And then they started
Starting point is 00:59:06 rubbing around the area Little bits came out. Oh dear. I'm lactose intolerance. I can't even count the amount of times I've shit myself because I was too polite to say anything about the presence of lactose. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my God, I hadn't eaten meat for five years.
Starting point is 00:59:21 I'm a vegetarian, went to my best friend's house and her mum made meatloaf. I just powered it. Oh, you can't say no to mum. Also, mum's meatloaf. Yum. I mean, it's literally a loaf of me. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:59:31 You're going to get back on the meat. Mum's meat life. I mean, that's deep end of the pool, though. There's nothing much meatier than mum's meat life. Yeah. Oh, I put a Group on voucher for a massage parlor. I thought I love massages. It turned out to be a very fancy brothel.
Starting point is 00:59:44 One of the worst massages I've ever had by a sex worker who I politely said, no, thank you at the end when they went to grab my bag by that. Well, here now, though. They're not expecting to do the actual massage, aren't they? They're going to fiddle around a little bit. Yeah. Tickle you, maybe. Well, if you listen to Sex.Life, remember Morgan got that central massage
Starting point is 01:00:00 and he just did body slides up and down her. She was like, get the shoulders, mate. The Z&M Podcast Network. Play ZED ends Fleshhorn and Haley Fact of the day Day, day, day day, day
Starting point is 01:00:17 do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do It's copper week here at fact of the day. We're looking at all things copper. Oh, you're under arrest. Not that kind of copper. He's a bent copper. criminal. I'm a copper. This is copper the metal.
Starting point is 01:00:41 We've talked about Otsey before, in fact of the day. What's Otsey? Otsey's a... Is there a place you buy all the gifts? The handmade gifts. Oh, yo, you'll get like cleaned my crafts from Otsi. In 1921, Hik has found Otsey,
Starting point is 01:00:54 a 5,000-year-old frozen mummy, remember in the Alps? Yes. Yes. Well, he was carrying an axe, which was made of... Copper. You guessed it. 99.7% pure copper. Heavy? Was it heavy? And they did some chemical, like, analysis on it in tracing and found out it actually came from central Italy,
Starting point is 01:01:16 which is over 500 kilometres away from where his body was found. So they believed the copper trade in the early days was very important to Neolithic peoples. No FedEx. No, no, no, no. They had to, like, walk it. Yeah, walk it the old school way. So I didn't even know what copper looked like in its raw form. But it looks basically like copper does except more like rocks, and you just hammer it into the formula one.
Starting point is 01:01:41 And that's how they were doing the back of the day. They'd use other rocks to hammer it. Until the Egyptians worked out, you could melt it. Oh. And cast it into whatever shapes you want. It's pink, hey? Kind of. It's orangey, golden.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Are you going to talk later about how it goes white, it goes green? Yeah. Yeah, great. I'm jazzed. I think that's going to be Thursday. Oxidization. A little bit oxidization on Thursday. I'm going to look forward to on Thursday, a little bit oxidization.
Starting point is 01:02:07 So they went on and the Egyptians. We've got Olivia Dean ticket blots and oxidisation. Exodisation on the show. Something for everybody. Something for everybody. I tell you what,
Starting point is 01:02:15 if you're into Olivia Dean and oxidisation of copper, this is where you're going to be on Thursday. We're not talking about general oxidisation. I've got no time for rust. Oh, we're not piss off rust. It's someone that owns an old car. It's a terrible word.
Starting point is 01:02:30 We don't want to even hear about it. But why is the Statue of Liberty Green? Thursday. Find out more. Nice. about the statue. So the Egyptians and the Sumerians smelted it down,
Starting point is 01:02:40 made things like tools, sculptures, bells, arts, amulets, and then somebody mixed it with tin and guess what they kicked off? You played Age of Empires? Yeah, I always cheated. I can't remember. You put the code, money, money, money, finish, finish, finish.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Put it in the flying Dutchman in that little car that drove around with the lasers. Yeah, get it. Yeah, good luck for historic man, against a car with lasers on it. This building's going to take this long to build. Not, cheat code. Boom.
Starting point is 01:03:07 Fast forward. Buy some money. Speed it up. Yeah. Advance. No, it kicked off the Bronze Age. Oh, yeah. Copper kicked off the Bronze Age.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Copper being mixed with tin, kicked off the bronze age. Wow. So today's fact of the day is... So I am listening, but I'm just excited for Thursday. Oxidization. Oxidization. We're going to get Wednesday on the way first. Wednesday.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I know. Wednesday copper in space. Oh, okay. Tomorrow we're touching on space. Thursday oxidization, but today's fact of the day is that a 5.5,000-year-old frozen mummy that was discovered in 1991 held an axe made of 99.7% pure copper. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. The ZDoo do-Dood do.
Starting point is 01:03:53 Do it do. Do, do do do do. Do do do do. Do do do do do do do. Do do do do. The ZDM podcast network. Haley, play Z-N. Fletch Fawn and Haley, the show, thanks to
Starting point is 01:04:11 animates making happy happen for pets. 20 to 9. You said Fletchford and Haley, and Haley heard her name. We're joined in studio by Fletchhorn and Haley, the puppies that are up for adoption at the moment at the Auckland Council's Adoption Education Centre in Pocke Coy here in Auckland. And Carly joins us. You're the shelter manager.
Starting point is 01:04:30 I am. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. Thank you so much for bringing in Fletchthor and Hayley. Haley is being a menace which is true to form She's very excited to be here this morning Fletch is quite a lot He's fletched's a lot
Starting point is 01:04:45 He's currently being really mean to Vaughan So it's very reflected We're kind of spot on Actually Not quite sure what's happening He's just pleased to be here So it's again true to form It's again very true to form
Starting point is 01:04:56 There's a lot going on in studio It's very fun So how why did you choose to name these rescue dogs after us? So each month or each week we come up with a new theme to name the dogs and I have to say any attention's good attention so if there was any chance of a mention
Starting point is 01:05:14 Yeah, you did well And then Kaylee over here is a huge fan of the show And we generally have it on in the office So you personally, Carly would like to distance yourself As a fan from the show I just know that's good, no, that's fair, it's fair, it's fine Credit where credit's due to Kaylee Yeah, yeah
Starting point is 01:05:29 You say- Hayley is just running around and around and around got zoomie. You say every week you pick up how many sort of dogs a week are you guys getting? Yeah, so it can be anywhere from about... Hayley, sat. Haley needs an ADHD diagnosis as much as the real one. Come here. Now, Haley, so yeah, how many dogs are you getting it?
Starting point is 01:05:57 So it can be, it varies each week, but it can be any. anywhere between three and up to about 10 or 11 dogs. Generally, it just depends how many moves. So that's why adoption's so important. The more that move, the more that can actually come in and have some time with us. So on average, how many would you get like a year? How many dogs? So the first year that we were open, we adopted out about 250 dogs.
Starting point is 01:06:19 Wow. We are currently, as of this weekend, at 402 dogs adopted. Wow. Since the beginning of February 25. Oh, my God. Is it a lot that cost of living and people like, I didn't realize how. expensive a dog would be? Is that some of it? Yeah, that does happen for sure, but we charge an adoption fee, which is actually less than paying for vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, all of those things.
Starting point is 01:06:41 So yours is 4.50 and it covers vet checks, vicks, microchipping, desexing, registration, a bath, a flea worm treatment, a one month of free accident cover from the... I can actually speak to the bath. I said to them when they walked on, I was like, these are some good smelling dogs, because I've got to come a real stint as they're home. The only thing that stinks is these snacks. I've been trying to get Haley to calm her down. I think they've hyped her up. Yeah, that's why she's running lamps around the studio. She's so excited because she knows she's going to get adopted after this. Yeah, she has, honestly.
Starting point is 01:07:07 Because obviously, like, you don't want people who can't handle a dog adopting dogs. What do you need to be or have to adopt a rescue puppy, like Fletforn and Haley? So that completely depends. So for a dog like Haley, we might have a few more restrictions in place. For some of the other puppies that are nice, easygoing and friendly, there's not necessarily any experience. That's what I'm known for, Carly. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Fletch is bringing his attitude this morning for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I like Fletch. Vaughn is the angel of the bunch. Vaughn is the most chill one out of these ones. Do you know what? Normally in the shelter, Vaughn is crazy, but he seems to be putting on his best manners today.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Howl's very excited. But some of these dogs, obviously, they don't come from the happiest. Like, I know, well, we've got rescued cats, don't we, Fletch? Yeah, we'll just stay quiet there. Yeah, we do. I rescued mine from a breeder. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:58 I've got a rescue cat and he was dropped off on a doorstep in a plastic bag I mean they don't always have the best start to life Is that the same case of the dogs? Like Haley is, she may need a little bit more love because she's had a bit of a rough start Yeah, so with Haley
Starting point is 01:08:12 She's actually been impounded eight times In less than a year So she has had a bit of a rough start But she's learning a manners now Both of you had a bit of a rough 12 months Yeah, me too Haley I feel you bones I didn't get in as much trouble
Starting point is 01:08:25 I did get lots of tattoos But that's the benefit, I think, of council adoptions in our adoption centre, is that we put in time, effort and training into the dogs to try and get them more adoptable. Well, we would just see you guys running outside and having the best time to the cutest things. How can we find you? Because I didn't know that the Auckland Council had an official thing. Everyone thinks you have a name or a brand or something, but the Auckland Council has their own adoption agency.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Yeah, so we have a website, Our Auckland Adoptable Dogs. and then we also have Facebook and Instagram under Auckland Council adoptable dogs. So you can see all the dogs that are available through Auckland Council there. And then the Pukawa Adoption Centre is open from 1030 till 2.30, 6 days a week. And can you go in, if you were interested,
Starting point is 01:09:10 can you just go in, have a look around and leave, you know? Scratch haley on the tummy. We were literally just talking about feeling, sometimes being too polite, you know, but you can visit and just hang out for dogs for a little bit. That's correct. So yeah, you can walk through, you can come and see all the dogs
Starting point is 01:09:24 that we have available, interact with a couple. And if Fletch for and Haley genuinely out for adoption? They certainly are. Oh no, Vaughn, Fletch has got his lipstick out. Oh, no! Just like our Fletch.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Oh, no, Fletch! Fletch! Fletch! They really are. They really are. They really are taking after their own namesakes. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 01:09:49 Haley would never. She's a classy lady. Yeah, yeah, she is. Is Haley a woman? She is. She's a female. Hales, is there something you'd like to say to the listeners? No, she's shy, which is not like me at all.
Starting point is 01:10:04 No, it's not. No, it's not. Well, that's the, you guys are at the Education Center of Auckland Council's, what is it? Auckland Council's adoption and Education Centre in Pokeroy in Pokeroy where you can adopt Fletch, Forne, Haley and a myriad of other lovely dogs who are all just ready to be loved and find their forever home. Unfortunately, my cat says,
Starting point is 01:10:24 no to a dog. Your apartment says no. Vaughn's got land. We've already got two dogs, though. Yeah, I know. If you can help out there, cute as all hell. Yeah, they are, they are. Thank you guys so much for coming into studio and good luck,
Starting point is 01:10:38 Haley on your journey. Play Zat-M's Fletch, Vaughn and Haley. Matthew McConaughey. All right, right, right. I can't do it. You got one? You got one in here? That's pretty good. Remember he spoke to him.
Starting point is 01:10:53 We've interviewed him. Yeah. About his book that was like a journal but a book. Green lights or something. Yeah, had room for you to write it, which I thought was a crafty way of doing less work. Yeah, I think so too.
Starting point is 01:11:04 It was kind of self-help motivation, that kind of stuff. So Matthew McConnor-hey, we know his career took such a turn. He was the rom-com guy doing things like fools gold and all that. That's right. Kind of fluffy stuff. Yep. And then he had spoken openly about this, that he wanted to be taken seriously.
Starting point is 01:11:25 And so he started just saying no, to roles. And he was like, nah, I want to be a serious actor. And then he just got these amazing roles. And then gave us a string of incredible movies. Yeah, and then won the Oscar for the Dallas Buyers Club. And then, like, he's never locked back. The Maconnasance, they called it. He was back.
Starting point is 01:11:41 And he did that. What was that, True Detective? True Detective. First season of that was incredible. He's brilliant. He can do it all. And then like, Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:11:49 Wall Street. Brilliant. So he was on a podcast yesterday called the Happy Sad Confused Podcast. Personally, I don't know it. And he was asked, what is the movie that has made you the most money, like that keeps on giving? And he calls it mailbox money. He said, this is the gift that keeps on giving.
Starting point is 01:12:11 By far and by lengths, how to lose a guy in 10 days from 2003. Which is your classic, as a classic rom-com. Kate Hudson? Kate Hudson. Yes. And he won't move out. She's hired by the parents to date him and then kind of get him to shuffle out
Starting point is 01:12:30 by kind of being really fond and all this kind of stuff. Then it's revealed that she's actually writing an article for a magazine and she wears that iconic yellow dress. Yeah. He's like, holy hell. Did he get one of those, what do they call it, the backhand deals on those? Yeah, where you don't get as much up front,
Starting point is 01:12:48 but you do better out of how well it does. And then so if it's, sold to streaming and if it's, I mean, back in the day it would have been DVD sales. Additional payments negotiated through performers unions for reruns and other uses of the movie and TV show after initial release. What was one of the most famous ones? Was it Sandra Bullock? Sandra Bullock did that space one.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Yes, and it made so much money. Gravity? Yeah, she basically earned nothing for doing the movie. To do it. But she got some real great. Warping residuals. Some people do it on like toys and stuff, you know, like superhero movies. They'll be like, okay, pay me less.
Starting point is 01:13:21 get a cut of the toys. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito did it in that movie Twins, which you may not have ever heard of. It's a fantastic movie if you've ever seen it. But no one believed he could do comedy. And to do it, he said, I actually won't get paid for this. I'll just take a residual deal. And Danny DeVito's like, yeah, sweet as because nobody wanted to pay his exorbitant fees at the time.
Starting point is 01:13:40 And it is Arnold Schwarzenegger's highest earning movie personally for him. Well, how to lose a guy in 10 days is the only movie in a list of TV shows. which are the highest earners? So he won't say the number. He's refrained from disclosing just how much, but he said it used to pre-streaming spike seasonally, home video and DVD and cable. Every March he'd get a big check because of Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 01:14:09 It was kind of like chick flicky. And then after this, you know, with streaming and whatnot and Netflix buying it and all that kind of stuff, he's made so much money. And he said it's his favorite of his own wrongcoms. And he agrees that it's one of the great rom-coms of all time. You described failure to launch, which was Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker. Oh, I did.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Was it Siriusa Jessica Parker? So this one is he's the one. Failure to launch his Sir Jessica Parker moving and getting him to move out. Yes. This is her. She works for an article. She works for a journalist. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:43 A magazine or something. And she's writing about how to lose a guy in 10 days. No, he makes a bet that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Is she doing the counter? Yeah, because she does weird things. By the way, the woman are letting you know on the Texas shit. I'm so sorry. Because this is why he makes...
Starting point is 01:15:00 You're talking about it. And two are on the weekends. But this is why he makes so much money because it's a classic. And people love it even to this day. So the friends cast still make 20 million annually. Yeah, right. Everybody loves Raymond. Ray Romano makes 18 million a year.
Starting point is 01:15:16 The Big Bang Theory main cast members. Not sure exactly. They were making a... They make bank. Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, still make tens of millions annually from Seinfeld. Larry David just makes, like, stuff he wants to make. Yeah, he does. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:32 But yeah, yeah, crazy. Oh, gosh. Well, good on him for making bank by not having to work. I'm kind of like, why would you do anything ever again? But they do. Passion for the acting, passion, passion for the praise. I don't get it. I don't get it.
Starting point is 01:15:50 Podcast Network. Play ZM's FlashForn and Haley. I actually want to ask a question of our listeners here. I want them to tell us their hair cut nightmares. When did the haircut not go well? When did it not turn out as pictured? Do you know what's a big culprit now? People taking AI images to the hairdressers apparently
Starting point is 01:16:10 and going, I want this and then be like, it's not a human. I'll give a version and they're like, it doesn't look like this. And also your hair might not be at all like that. And your face. Yeah. Your face isn't a little like that. Your face isn't that face. Sorry, you don't have Zendaya's face.
Starting point is 01:16:25 Yeah, that's why that's not looking the same. So the reason I bring this up is because Taylor Swift was spotted at a friend's wedding, just a lovely wedding. She looks great, no doubt Taylor Swift is a very beautiful woman. Wait, so she's at, not her wedding, she's at a wedding. Just attending a friend's wedding. You would hate that. Because like, she's getting all the attention.
Starting point is 01:16:45 She's been a bridesmaid multiple times. I know. I would just be like, you understand why I can't put you up there. right? It's about moi. It's about me. So everyone's talking about the fact that she's in that horrible, awkward phase of growing out your bangs. So she's
Starting point is 01:17:00 kind of like it's heavy and she's had to sort of sweep it to the side and it's awkward length and it's just like a post-tour. She's like, I've just got to go through this and unfortunately in front of billions of people commenting on the bad fringe. She's, yeah,
Starting point is 01:17:16 I think the hairstylist has tried to make the best of a bad situation. Right. But I want to know yours because I've seen worse than this, for sure. I don't think, I've definitely had to go in for a trim and come out with a bob. And then you're like, cool, thank you so much for this mistake. I'm happy that this is going to take five years to fix because that's how hair works. You guys can't really partake in this.
Starting point is 01:17:39 No, we're just bald, aren't we? You sliced a chunk of your head off the other day. Yeah, I did shave my own head that bled profusely. But people do this all the time, go in and they've got an idea of what looks good. and it just might not end up looking good. Yeah, or you wanted brown and you got red. We've all asked for brown and had red before. Why has it got red undernotes?
Starting point is 01:17:57 Well, like we were talking before, we're too polite. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Just watching it get shorter and shorter. You're watching them cut off too much and you don't say anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you end up crying at the hairdresser. Yeah. No, it's important you cry on the way home.
Starting point is 01:18:10 Oh, yeah, yeah. Like we talked about before, being too polite to say something. Of course you say, I love it, it looks great. You get to the car and you begin your meltdown. Yeah, smile through the tears. Okay, so you want to hear from people this morning. Oh, 800, Darns at Em, 9-6-96 to text us. How bad was the haircut?
Starting point is 01:18:28 And how long did it take to fix? Oh, someone just messaging hair trauma. Now, what was your haircut nightmare? That's what we want to know right now. Too short, wrong? Even though it's Taylor Swift, even if you're a celebrity, you've still got to grow out that fringe. You've got to grow it out.
Starting point is 01:18:42 The fringe ain't going to grow itself. It's that transition period. It is. Gess, you've had a hair cut nightmare. Yes. What happened? What happened. I thought it was a great idea to do mullet march.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Mullet March. I haven't heard of that one. Nah, neither. I wouldn't recommend it. Okay. So how old were you when you dipped a toe into mullets, Jess? I did it last year. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:10 At the end of March, I ended up with a Karen cut. Yeah, yeah, lovely. I was so compared to my brother who also had a mullet at the time. Oh, yeah. Not what you want. Not what you want and be told you look like your brother.
Starting point is 01:19:22 How's the mullet going now? Wow, I've got a bob now. Okay. Do you know what? That's the only option you have. When you're a woman and you're growing at you hear and it goes wrong, you're going to wait a little awkward period, then just got to bob it and then let it grow out.
Starting point is 01:19:36 Bob it and then love it. So, I mean, come back to us in a couple of years time, I guess. Is that how long it takes? It takes that long. It grows so slow. Oh, wow. Okay. But were you doing Mullet March for charity? Yeah. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:47 Health Foundation. Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's nice. It's for a good cause. How much did you raise? $1,000. Oh, that's not too bad. That's fantastic.
Starting point is 01:19:58 But then, of course, you've got your own mental health to struggle with the mental health for the next two years with your head cut, Jess. Yeah. True twist of fame, I guess you could tell. Well, you know, you've raised money for charity. That's fantastic. Thanks, Jess. We're hearing a lot of fringes.
Starting point is 01:20:14 Yeah, okay. Everyone just has that moment with the thing. I'm Zoe Dishone out. None of us are Zoe Dish now. D. What was your hair cut nightmare? Yeah, well, it's not so much a haircut as it is like a hair bleaching meth hat. Oh, God.
Starting point is 01:20:27 Apparently, yeah, apparently you shouldn't get your hair bleached and you've got your period. Why? Says who? I don't. Well, my scalp apparently and then I googled it and it's like an actual thing. I ended up with like chemical burns all over my scalp from it. What? Yeah, it was wild to like full on like blisters.
Starting point is 01:20:45 It was horrible. Were you doing it or were you getting it done? No, not like professional. Oh. Like, cost me hundreds of dollars to get chemically disfigured. But when, what, what, how does the period affect that? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:20:58 I think it's something to do with like your scalp is a lot more sensitive or something, something along those lines anyway. Everything's a bit more sensitive when you... Estrogen levels drop sharply right before and during your period. This drop makes your body's pain receptor is more sensitive, causing a standard scalp bleach to sting or burn much more intensely. Yes. Wow.
Starting point is 01:21:16 It was not great. My hair didn't lighten properly either. So insult to injury, I had bright orange hair. Oh, Jesus. And your period. But then also, like, is your hair dress are going to be like, are you on your period? Like, how do you bring that up?
Starting point is 01:21:29 No, yeah. But then they probably should if this is a thing, right? I didn't know this at all, and I've had my hair bleached heaps. But I also wasn't menstruating at the time. Yeah. Wow. Okay, well, the more you know. The more you know.
Starting point is 01:21:42 The more you know, thank you. Thanks for the education. some messages in. I wanted a medium length they cut it into a bob then everybody at school said I looked like a grown-up lesbian version of Dora the Explorer.
Starting point is 01:21:54 We've had a lot of lesbian texts. In 2003 hours 13 thought it'd be edgy and cool to cut my beautiful long hair into the trendy Mandy Moore pixie cut people just call me a Liz. Oh, a Liz. A Les.
Starting point is 01:22:06 Oh, you're a Les. My hair cut was so bad, I went to another hairdresser to get it fixed and when I took it out of the ponytail she gasped and said I looked like a jellyfish. Oh, okay. Does it count if it's somebody else?
Starting point is 01:22:19 A guy I've had a crush on for about 10 years Went and got a skillet. What is the skillet? It's a mullet. Oh, it's where they shave it entirely. So that was my hair trauma. Then you'll find most of those on the west coast or the South Island. Oh, South Island loves it.
Starting point is 01:22:33 They love that. Yeah. In a fit of insanity, I cut my hair short. My hair was down past my butt. And then suffered for months as guys check him out thinking I was a guy. Not a guy, not a good time. I was 14 and asked for the Gwyneth Paltrow and sliding doors. Iconic.
Starting point is 01:22:53 It was horrendous. I sobbed in the chair while he was still cutting for the last half hour. Oh, that's not going to make the hairdresser feel. Bratio. He's like, can you just stay still if you want your Gwyneth Paltrow? I had braces and also did not look like Gwyneth Paltrow and got to school the next day and someone said to me, you cut your hair, why?
Starting point is 01:23:13 Why? Why? Working at a hair salon, my hair was mid-back long. I was in fifth form at the time. The apprentice needed a model for a cut. Kew a 90 spike back in a zigzag part with front K-plus-8 cut. Oh, that's that Karen fringe. That's not working.
Starting point is 01:23:32 That's disastrous. Did you read the Kiwi in London? No. Went to a very swanky hairdress. It's in London. I thought, oh yes, I'm going to have the best hair cut here. I paid 80 pounds eight years ago. quite a lot. He not only forgot to cut
Starting point is 01:23:46 half of one side of my hair. He burnt my scalp three times giving me a blow wave while he was cutting two other people's hair and one other he had a colour developing in. It was an absolute shambles. You kind of want them to concentrate on one job of the time. Want them to be on you, not four people. That's another
Starting point is 01:24:02 time that we're too politer. Heedress has got the blow dryer on you. How's the temperature? Fine. Burn. Burning your scalp. Melting your hair. The Z&M Podcast Network. This is a new study published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, looking at what determines whether couples can survive infidelity, being cheating, affairs, anything like that. This was done the US led by a psychologist over there, Dr. Kathy Nickerson, and she surveyed
Starting point is 01:24:32 1,151 people who had cheated, 2,278 people who'd been cheated on. Oh, okay. So quite big numbers in here. over 75% of couples in the study ended up staying together after an affair. So they're obviously like a little bit skewed in terms of people that had that were taking part in this.
Starting point is 01:24:52 How do you get over it though? So how do you get over it? Here's the biggest factor for the betrayed person. The person who was cheated on. The relationship status played a part whether you were married, engaged or long term, far more likely to stay together. If you've got admin,
Starting point is 01:25:11 If you've got a house together. Yeah. Or you're just like, okay, yes, we've been together for 20 years. Like, you're a bit bored, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get one, I get one. You get one. I don't know if that's a guy.
Starting point is 01:25:24 Is that scores? Yeah, yeah, points. Doesn't sound healthy, Vaughn. Yeah, keeping points. Always works. Whereas if it was more casual or six months, you're like, no, you blew it this quickly in. Absolutely not.
Starting point is 01:25:34 You're gone. Other things that helped the person who's been cheated on, lots of reassurance, validating the feelings, showing affection and talking things through. So basically like if you've cheated, you are now on like delivery service. Right. Like you get all the affection. I'm giving you all the reassurance, everything, rather than going quiet and being like,
Starting point is 01:25:56 let's not talk about it. The biggest factor for the cheater was whether or not they still love their original partner throughout their affair. So they're cheating because of other factors other than I don't love you anymore. Right. You know, like I'm spiraling or I'm just acting out of war. whatever, that was the strongest predictor that they're going to reconcile. And, oh, sorry, obviously the other factor for the person that's been cheated on is that
Starting point is 01:26:20 the affair was ended immediately. Sorry. Sorry, it's not ongoing. You're not going to taper off. Yeah, no taper. It is like, you tell it. And for the person cheated on, if I ask you a question, you answer it. Yep.
Starting point is 01:26:34 With honesty. Right. Because if I'm actually forgiving you, that's my job. And I need all the information. It would also depend who they cheated on you with because if it was someone at work and they're going to see them every day, that's not going to help anything.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Yeah. So even people who admitted falling for their affair partner were still more likely to stay with their original partner long term. Oh, wow. So in a fear that then leads to leaving and then being with that person is less likely. And so this whole study kind of busts,
Starting point is 01:27:03 it said three myths about cheating, that reconciliation is rare, that love and infidelity are, are incompatible. So, like, you can't have both. Yeah. You can. And that relationship quality
Starting point is 01:27:16 always gets worse after an affair. Some say it improved, because then suddenly we've busted wide open. You tell me everything. Yeah, now you're more honest about what you want. About what you want.
Starting point is 01:27:24 Yeah, totally. What we're lacking. Maybe people even open it up. Yeah. Or, like, this is why I did this or I was missing this and I long for more of that in my life and maybe you want the same.
Starting point is 01:27:34 And, oh, gosh, it's really interesting little read there from the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flash, Forn and Haley. Well, I mentioned last week I was going to give a go to this Tom Holland workout that he talked about when he was doing Spider-Man Press.
Starting point is 01:27:54 That's right. Break it down again. The Cindy, it's for 20, you've got 20 minutes to do as many sets of five pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air squats. Oh, yeah. And I did 17 on the maiden outage. I was supposed to be air-squoting every hour. For the brain.
Starting point is 01:28:08 For the brain. For the brain. Because you heard that on a podcast. If you could do anything every hour. What do you do with your arms when you wear your squat? I swing them into a kind of prayer. Oh, you do them. You go up.
Starting point is 01:28:19 Right. I try doing the out thing. That looks stupid. Makes it harder. I just, I look stupid squatter. Yeah, okay. I think all humans look silly when we squat.
Starting point is 01:28:27 Yeah. Sort of an embarrassing position. Now see some people at the gym and they look so good. And they look so good. And I know that that comes with practice, right? They're not squatting for the first time, but they look pretty cool. Yeah, pretty awesome. So are you still.
Starting point is 01:28:37 So are you still. So, Are you still doing the Spider-Man workout? I did it once last week, and I think I'm going to try to do it twice a week, but I was pretty sore after the first out of. Because I'm not a squatter. Yeah, and also Tom Holland's 30. Yeah, his knees don't granch on the way down.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Five foot seven? He's not a tall boy. I always think this. We're tall. And when people go like, I squat this, I'm like, yeah, but you're just like, he-he-he-he-he-ha. We're like, huh. But it's all in relation to your body, isn't it? And this just sounds like, Fannie's making excuses.
Starting point is 01:29:06 It just sounds like excuses. No, I sound like a fatty-making excuse. Yesterday, I got 20 in 20 minutes. Oh, nice. And I, a woman asked me if I was okay at the end, and I said, I'm not sure, but just keep an eye on me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They've got one of those defibrillators at the gym.
Starting point is 01:29:24 Yep. And you had your eye on it? I should have just crawled a little bit closer to that to take some time out of it. Yeah, it was, she was all go. God. The 20's good. Okay, he's 5' 6, 5 foot 7, I'm 6 foot. Do you know what?
Starting point is 01:29:36 Shrinking. Are you? Oh no. I think I'm 5 foot 1 and a half, but I'm going to still 6 foot 1 and 1 half. No, I'm 5 foot 1 and a half. I'm just a tiny, tiny boy. I'm Sabrina Carpenter size.
Starting point is 01:29:46 Yeah, I got my height measured at the doctor yesterday actually and I've lost half a centimetre. Yeah. I don't like that. I'm just going to, I think I'll just keep, I'll give my height and my weight at my peak. Yeah. I feel like I'm just going to stick to some glory stats.
Starting point is 01:30:00 Yeah. You can't go to the doctor and give them my glory stats. And give them your weight from when you had abs. Yeah. And then I'm going to pull up. 75KJs. I'll put up my hidden folder on my phone and I'll cover the bottom quarter and I'll be like, that's what I look like when I take my shirt on.
Starting point is 01:30:13 Yeah. And he'll be like, I doubt that and I'll be like, I did once though, check, that's not AI. Yeah, yeah. That's not a hour. Six years ago. Yeah, yeah. A lot ago. Okay, what are you going to stick at this?
Starting point is 01:30:23 I mean, it doesn't sound good when you get to the end of it. No, I don't die. No, I'm going to aim, well, this is why I'm doing it to avoid dying. Right. Oh, okay. I'm going to find that sweet Goldilocks zone of between dying. because I'm not being able to do it or going too hard and dying. And Guinness and steak.
Starting point is 01:30:40 Yeah, I'm going to cancel it. I'm not giving that up. No, no, no, no, it's canceling it. Oh, cancel it out. It's like a siggy in a glass of water. Oh, terrible. Terrible. No, Siggy and then a couple of fresh breasts of air,
Starting point is 01:30:57 just in the countryside somewhere. Oh, I just realized I did the whole show with my headphones on backwards. Well, that means the show's backwards then, isn't it? We're going to have to play this in reverse. Well, should we speak in reverse, and hopefully they'll work out the other way? Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
