Starting point is 00:00:00 from the ZM Podcast Network. This is... Fleshwin and Haley's Big Pod. Thanks to animates, making happy happen for pets. Fletch Fawn and Haley Happy Monday. Toss is returning at 8 o'clock this morning. Bring it on.
Starting point is 00:00:14 More chances to win cash this week on ZM. 8 o'clock. Activator. Call through. We'll give you $100. Heads or tails. Take it if you want. Double your money.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Yeah. Or take it. Just do whatever you want. It's actually your world. There's no rules. I reckon we keep going until we get to at least A few thousand, four hundred. Three, six thousand.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Then, you know, six thousand becomes twelve. Yeah. Let's just keep going. Well, your chance to play at eight o'clock. Vaughn, you've got the top six for us? Yeah, apparently, I myself at the weekend, I served some... You got served.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I'll see you in court. Oh, Jesus. I got served in an ad. It was an account dealing with a lovely off-the-grid Irish sort of getaway. And I thought, wouldn't that be nice? Wouldn't it? Wouldn't it be nice to pack up sticks and move to County Cork in Ireland, I think it was? Well, that's just a pipe dream for me, but not for Mark Zuckerberg.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I don't know if he got served an ad on Meta, which would be wildly ironic, and decided to buy an Irish castle. But he has. He's got a little bit more cash than you, I think. Just a smidge. Yeah, he does. Just a smidge more cash. I've got the top six things Zook can do in his Irish castle.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Were you about to say, Fletch, that. that owning a castle would be a pain because of all the dusting and the size and everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Because it feels like it would be awesome until like, yeah, a month and you're like, this place is filthy.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Can everyone just pick up their shit? I have an apartment and I'm always dusting. Yeah. Imagine if you had like 18 rooms. Yes. I mean, he'd obviously pay people, but... Yeah, I don't think he's down with the dice and with the head off, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:53 suck him up the skirting boards or anything like that. Going around the... Yeah, I don't think he's doing that. Little tight corners and the suits of armour and such. No. Get to that in the top six soon. But next on the show...
Starting point is 00:02:03 A study has revealed something that women want more of from men in the bedroom. Okay. And I think this could be a little PSA. From women to men. Do you hear us? The Fletch morning, Haley,
Starting point is 00:02:17 Big Pod. Here's something, Pohom, for him. We're going to need you to speak up a little bit in the bedroom. Now, you know, Love Honey, they do... Um,
Starting point is 00:02:30 bee stuff. Honey. No. Love honey. Lipum. Six, um, surveys. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:37 And they've got websites and they sell all sorts of fun things. They did a survey on noise in the bedroom. And I don't mean sort of... But a brown noise. Gosh, I've been off the brown noise for a while. And then last night, I put it back on. Welcome back to my life. I wouldn't know what to do without me brown noise.
Starting point is 00:02:55 I just, I have the hum of the city. That's my brown noise. Yeah, well, that where the... It's too quiet out in the sort of semi-country. Anyway, so Love Honey did a survey looking into noise in the bedroom. Now, 94% of women believe... 94%? I'd say vast majority.
Starting point is 00:03:14 Believe they are louder than their male partners in the bedroom. And the vast majority of men agree. This has been a long thing. Now, they had a great name for... Well, I believe it's a scientific or the medical name. Copulatory vocalisations. Yeah. Copilatory vocalisations.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Noise in the bedroom. Men, they're not doing it, apparently. Anyone care, with two men present? Two, comment? Oh, well, kind of all you were just like, mm, eh. Oh, no, yeah. So, if female, that wouldn't be sexy men. What are sexy men noises?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Oh, my God. Just little movers. I'm asking. Yeah. But also not making them, hear, or making them releasing them, whatever noise. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, natural. Natural noises.
Starting point is 00:04:09 But don't, no, muffle them. So women say it's the sexiest thing ever, an instant turn on. Reasons that men gave for staying quiet. Okay. They've learned silence from adult films. But the women are performing as well. Hey. No one.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a little over the top. No one does that. But I've learned that that's like, that's the woman's role as to make the noise, and he's like, whirr-r-r-r-ram. Some of them say they feel silly. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:40 It makes them feel silly making noise. Others say they're concentrating too hard. Well, we've got a job to, don't we? You've got to concentrate. Got to keep all your ducks in a row. Yeah, they've got too many things. I remember reading about this and there's a bit. Yeah, there's a bit.
Starting point is 00:04:57 You don't want that noise. Go, oh, oh, what's next? When you're busy. Oh, I bloody forgot the, I forgot to do the twirley thing. Yeah, sometimes they are concentrating too much on things like stamina and pace. Common as simple, eh? This is so sweet. We're not great multitaskers.
Starting point is 00:05:14 It's like CPA. You're staying alive for the BGs. Huh? Huh. Stay alive. You don't want that to be your noise that you make in the bedroom. Just anything. But this is the thing.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's like, this is heterosexual, obviously. But like, the men are going, we feel silly. where we've learnt that this is wrong and women are saying, please make more noise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because that's a clear. Saying stuff,
Starting point is 00:05:35 sometimes you say things in the hate of the moment and afterwards you're a little embarrassed you said it. Oh my God. Oh my God. Hey, like sometimes you'll say something and you'll be like, and then like a post-quential clarity,
Starting point is 00:05:46 you'll be like, oh, I hope they don't remember I said that. It's okay. They said that. And then they do it, of course, they will, but who's going to bring it up? So there was a therapist. And then you have to sit down afterwards
Starting point is 00:05:56 and you're just like, I just got to address the things I said. I said some stuff. I don't think that of you. That was bananas. Yeah. That was wine. I've never called anyone there in my life.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. It's just like, then I know, you know, I see you, choke me. And you did,
Starting point is 00:06:10 and you did, and then I realized it didn't like that. So there was a sex therapist. And it was Tiff Hudson. I read about it. Tiff Hudson, she's a sex therapist.
Starting point is 00:06:19 She said, Moning gives partners clear judgment-free feedback. That's the best thing, right? More of that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's it. We need that, too.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Because when women do it, men are like, how yeah, I'm nailing this. Women were like, yeah, come on let me know. It's actually a good point, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, it's just feedback in the moment. Let them know what you like. Her advice for quiet a partner.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Here we go. Start small. Let out a breath. Oh, yeah, okay. You're going to do it. No, not test my breath, breath. Okay, man, that's closer. Let it come naturally. Peer sounds with simple verbal clues.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Cues, like right there. or more of them. Add a girl. And then... And then... Good on you, mate. You're not on the farm, vol. If embarrassment is your thing,
Starting point is 00:07:12 we feel a bit silly, she says, practice solo. So when you're doing your at-home sessions, on your own. Well, embarrassment is some people's thing, isn't it? Yes, well, exactly. Shame it. Tell me how small it is.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I love it. Kick me. The ZDM Podcast Network Lauren and Jake We're getting married, right? Oh, congrats Lauren and Jake. Love is alive. And they were like, guys, you know how usually it's like up to you, see you at the ceremony?
Starting point is 00:07:42 Mm-hmm. 3 o'clock or whatever time. Yeah. But before that, everybody's going to be busy. The bride and grooming will be busy doing all this stuff. There might be a little bus pickup somewhere if you could just be there. Yeah. Totally.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And if it's later in the day, maybe the guests have a drink if there's a drink spot by the, yeah, by the bus stop. It is important not to have too many. Oh, we'll pop a bottle while we're putting on our dresses and makeup and stuff. Just because last the night before, we had a big one before. Well, you wouldn't have been able to have a big night the night before because Jake and Lauren, they had a five-kilometer morning fun run for all their guests. Oh, Haley didn't go. Race bids, custom hats, fun prizes and a poster on bagel and coffee breakfast.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, God. painful. This video's gone viral and they've got like tables with all the hats. Like it looks like an actual official fun run. Lace up for love. There's one of those that'll pop up gazebos and there's like, yeah, they've got
Starting point is 00:08:40 lace up for love was kind of the there's hats and then they put on the bourbon they go for a run. Wedding day Wessie is the they make videos of people's wedding day. Right. And they, this is one of the most popular videos. Is this one of those like
Starting point is 00:08:56 morning hit kind of workout kind of couples, high rocks. For sure. Fitness is their passion. Cool. You guys go for a romantic run in the morning. Everyone at the weddings from their class. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And there's me because I met you in high school and I'm not there and I don't really work out that much. And yeah, I had a big night before the wedding. You're vomiting. Two Ks in. Yeah, a few guys go on. I'll get the hashburns off. I went into the comments expecting some.
Starting point is 00:09:26 peak, you know, roasting, and it's been really nice. I saw a video yesterday and I saw a video yesterday, no witness of the comments, like, here we go. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:09:36 And there was like one and I was like, oh, I really was a bad guy. I'm the bad guy. With my daughter recently, she's like, you know, when you see a video and you're like, oh, the comments are going to be so mean
Starting point is 00:09:46 and you go in and they're not that are real nice and you're like, maybe I'm the problem. I'm a prick. Or they deleted all of them. Yeah, they hid them. It's giving big delete. The internet would hate this.
Starting point is 00:09:55 White people have seriously gone too far with this one. It's so white. They're wide, they're white. Yeah, that's very white. They're Canadian white. You know, that's... Brown people just go for a run
Starting point is 00:10:03 because they know that's what it takes to keep hot and brown. Oh, God. I affirm it. Oh my God. You're telling me I can go for a run on my wedding day? Oh my God. You just do that much son.
Starting point is 00:10:13 God is what are getting out there. We've got lots of friends who are runners. Yeah. Like, if our friends did this, get a grip. If this is not my wedding, I'm not getting married. The people in the comments
Starting point is 00:10:26 are the worst. Are they worse in the bright and groom? They're worse in the bright and groom. They're enabling this behaviour. If this is in my tab. This is not the kind of love I want. Ugh. On my wedding day, too,
Starting point is 00:10:36 we're getting... We're getting... On my wedding day. I was like, well, wow, where did this come from? We're getting McDonald's McMuffins. You know what I mean? We're having a hair of the dog, Shandy.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And we're sitting down. We listen to music. We're popping bottles. We're getting ready. I'm not going for a run. And also, Also, when I run the off chance, I get so hot afterwards, and then I'll have a shower and then I'll be hot again.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Yeah, the hot stays, eh? Yeah, you'll be hot and puffy. Oh my God, if I ever become a bride, I need to just sit still. I can't be moving fluids around. I'm getting too hot. Play Z-Ns, Flet's, Fawn and Haley. There are some cute little community. Like a library?
Starting point is 00:11:22 Because we've got one of these, I've got one of these over the road from my apartment. It's like a little library community box. It's got a flap. Yeah. So the rain doesn't get in and you can go and get a book, leave a book. You see them all the time. Well, popping up all over America, and I've just looked at the map, these are, like, hugely popular.
Starting point is 00:11:39 There's even some in Sydney and Melbourne looking at the map. Freeblockbuster.org, you know, like Blockbuster? Yeah, the movie, the DVD, VHS. These are little VHS and DVD libraries that are all. all over America and over the world there's on an Ireland, like the map, some in Mexico. Yeah. All over.
Starting point is 00:12:02 And they're just little community DVD VHS libraries that people go on. I can't play it. I don't have a DVD player. Oh, my PlayStation. You got a slot? You don't have to get a PlayStation with the slot anymore. You can get the digital ones.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Yeah. I wouldn't have any idea. I don't, I did like tell my parents why we need to get rid of their boxes of DVD. VHSs and CDs. I was like, Dad, you don't, you can't play this. It's all there.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Oh, I don't want to get rid of that. That CD's great. I was like, it's there. It's on the phone. It's there on the phone. You've got it now. It's all in there. Anyone you can ever want
Starting point is 00:12:39 or like, we buy records and stuff. You're like, that's a fun process. We've got a record player. But DVD, I wouldn't have any idea how to play it. That's the thing. So many people have been, have DVD or VHS collections just in their garage. Yes. Remember people built shelves in their lounge?
Starting point is 00:12:55 Yes. Yeah. People built, like, when they're renovated. Wall units. Wall units built into the wall. Around the TV. What's in the wall units now? For all these box sets that you would never watch again.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so funny. Maybe it's like a nostalgia thing. Or like there are collectors. Yeah, and I mean, you could easily buy a cheap DVD player. Yeah, totally. And yeah, it's just... When you get all the menu items.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Especially now that, like, you know, subscriptions are so expensive. People are ditching the subscriptions. Uh-huh. And going and sourcing. free or next to free DVDs. Yeah. I mean, I kind of get it. I mean, my boyfriend has a massive crate of DVDs.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Is it being stored in my garage? Because he doesn't even have space? Yeah. Why? Get rid of them. I know. He was like jazzing over all the extra menu items and stuff. Oh.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But all of it's all on YouTube. Exactly. It's the same YouTube and it's there. I think it's a nostalgia thing. Bouncing around. Yeah, the DVD, but it's all. Boing, Boing,
Starting point is 00:13:55 Boing. So, some of these, so much effort into those little menus and stuff on DVDs. Oh,
Starting point is 00:14:00 yeah. Some of these free blockbuster libraries use, because you know in America they have those newspaper
Starting point is 00:14:07 stands. Yeah, and you put in your quarter and you grab it and use that. Some of those have just been spray painted
Starting point is 00:14:13 and turned into these. Oh, yeah. That's really cool. I mean, it's kind of cute. If people are using it, then how,
Starting point is 00:14:19 yeah, all the power to them. I don't know how they get away with using the blockbuster because somebody owns the blockbuster like trademark
Starting point is 00:14:27 because they purchased it. Is it blue and yellow? Like they've done it proper. Yeah, it looks like How many do we have left to New Zealand? Video stores. I know there's one in Moronsville. I can speak to United Video in Moronsville.
Starting point is 00:14:38 New Zealand's last Blockbuster video store was located in Dargaville and closed at the end of January 2020. Blockbuster was never one of, never massive in New Zealand. It was United Video and Civic Video. Video Easy. Video easy.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Those are the big ones. Yeah. There's RO still. REO video. which is like Artie. Artie. I got a nice little art house film from Arro.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Right. There's a Devonport Film Club. There's a few around. There's United Videos. But yeah, it's sort of... Is it like kitsch, like a novelty? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:14 I think it is, yeah. I don't own a single DVD. They're all gone. Nah, same way. The only one I do own is what we do in the shadows because, remember, but I was in that movie,
Starting point is 00:15:25 the Jermaine Clement Tiger White TV. They edited you out. And they edited me out. But I think they said at the time a bit much, she was a bit much. Yeah, like, you're an extra babe. I'm still adding lines. Stop and stop eyeballing the camera.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Yeah. Even though it was Docco style and we would have got away with it, it was a bit much. But I was in the deleted scenes on the DVD. Oh, right. Are they on YouTube? They're on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Yeah, see. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flash for an inhaler. From your local community Facebook page This is the top six The castle Strankelly Castle
Starting point is 00:16:03 They reckon he paid Between I think it was 35 and 40 Million Euros This is in southern Ireland Oh mate
Starting point is 00:16:14 This is Mark Zuckerberg Zookerberg has purchased this Why do you say Zookerberg You've changed it to be fancier Zuckaburg Zookerberg Zuckabberg I don't know
Starting point is 00:16:23 Everyone says Zuckow. Don't make him sound more approachable. Zuckers-Zocca. So he's purchased an Irish castle. Apparently this is only 10% of what is super yacht cost. That's... And do you know why he's done this? People are saying because...
Starting point is 00:16:37 Tiny penis. Tax. Tax. Because Facebook is headquartered in Ireland. Yeah, MET is... Pay some tax in New Zealand, your piece of shit. This is... Bankrupt Ireland, right?
Starting point is 00:16:49 They did this thing where they made... Company tax is like one. Uncental. I don't know what it was. And all these companies are like sweet. So they came in and just absolutely loophole it. And they're nearly bankrupted Ireland for IT. This is me not.
Starting point is 00:17:02 You make enough money, dude. Pay tax. Why are you trying to find loopholes when you make that much money? Love a loophole. You're not going to even feel it. Oh my God. What a loser. Well, look at the top six things.
Starting point is 00:17:15 It sounds like someone wants a pash Chloe Swarbrick over here. Oh my God. Oh my God. Do you know what's so funny. I was talking to the girls. You know how I did that gig on Thursday. Goblin Girls. It's like an all-female stand-up gig in Auckland. Chloe Swalbrook was in the crowd.
Starting point is 00:17:30 The way the women were performing just for her. You could feel, Yohanna Cosgrove, Justine Smith, Courtney Dawson, Haley Sproul. We were all like Chloe's hair. Clot, Clot, Clot, Clot. Like we were just... Pruning. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Parading around. Getting out all our most liberal gear.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I was like, man, we were showing off just for Chloe. It was shameful. You sure. She was there with a girlfriend. Shameful the way we paraded for her. She loved. She loved it. She loved it.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Queen of the castle, queen of the castle. Well, I've got the top six things Mark Zuckerberg can do in his Irish castle. Number six on the list. Pretend he's enjoying a Guinness, but we know he's not because he's a robot. He couldn't handle it. Too spicy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Imagine watching Zuckerberg trying to split the G. I'm going to split the G. Oh, didn't make it. Yep. Keeps. He's such an awkward man. He's such an awkward man. Can you ever imagine him making love? No.
Starting point is 00:18:29 No. No. He must have a few times. He's got a face. It looks like it doesn't know how to have sex. Similar. Yeah. Not similar to mine. Similar. Number five on the list of the top six things. Zuckerberg can do it in his Irish castor. Zuckabberg. Why are you saying Zookabird? I don't know, man. It's a you. Number five,
Starting point is 00:18:45 not have to worry about liberally applying sunscreen because Ireland. Yeah. You know he loves that he's that famous photo of him wearing zinc. All over his face. Yeah. All over the zinc.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Number four on the list of the top six things, Zuckerberg can do in his Irish castle. Thank you. He can set up larping except he'll MMA fight invading British forces. Yeah, he said, I'm going to do it like a medieval larping. And then he comes in with his like karate gear and you're like, okay. He's like, I'm just trying something different. Does he MMA?
Starting point is 00:19:18 Yeah. He was looking jacked at one stage. He was looking jacked. Who was he going to fight and it didn't end up happening? No, didn't he challenge Elon Musk to fight? Oh, yeah, yeah. Remember those two? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Cool, cool party guys. Cool guys. Cool party. Yeah, when nerds get money. Yeah, yeah, I'll lose. Number three on the list of the top six things Zuckerberg can do in his Irish castle. Do that weird hydroboarding thing on the river Blackwater, which is right next to his castle. He's got a big river next to his castle, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Does he? Yeah, a massive river. Yeah, he's got a jetty. Holy! Yeah, Google the phone. It's pretty cool. It's got a lot of land too. I think it's...
Starting point is 00:19:56 Number two on the list of the top six things Zuckerberg can do in his Irish castle. Figure out how to power a data center off a potato. You could do that. You always do those scientists. Yes. He's a potato to turn on a light or whatever. I hope he's going to enjoy the river next to his castle
Starting point is 00:20:09 before the data centers. Drain that. Dry it all up. And number one on the list of the top six things, Zuckerberg can do in his Irish castle. Play innocent in the downfall of society. Put from Ireland this time. Man, I'm just here in my castle.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I'm just a little Irish fellow. Me! Ruin the world, never! No, I'm just here doing my surfing. That's the day stop-sex. Play Z-N's flesh, phone and haley. I just saw this guy's last time when I don't know how to say it.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Magafas. Magafas. You can't call. Can't call the things. Maga-Fus. I just saw MAGA and I was like, Ugh, make it bear a great again. He's a 19-year-old Sydney creator.
Starting point is 00:20:46 His name's Anthony, and he charges just 20 bucks. 20 Australian dollars, right? That is enough to cover coffee and food. You give him 20 bucks. This is for the ladies. And what he'll do is he'll message your boyfriend online and see if he'll bite on a discreet same-sex hooker.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Wow. I mean, this has been a famous service. This has been around a long time where girls will do this and slide into a boyfriend's DMs. Yeah, to see if he'll cheat, right? But this is to see if your boyfriend gay. So if you were
Starting point is 00:21:18 like, I suspect that not only as my boyfriend may be, I's a wondering, but eyes may be wondering to the opposite gender. So what he does, this was like a free TikTok tip video that he made. He's a creator. On closeted partner red flags. That that went viral. Go on. What are they?
Starting point is 00:21:39 Crop tops. He said, I'll find that information, but I'm on this now. He said he's done 12 tests so far, or 20 bucks, right? So that's 240 buck, man. He needs to charge more. How long does this... How long does this take? Well...
Starting point is 00:21:55 It's time consuming. Not long. It's a DM. Yeah, true. Hey. How are you going? Is this guy good looking? Because that would help.
Starting point is 00:22:03 He is good looking. He is good looking. Yeah. I was going to say, because it wouldn't work if you're a minger. So, no. No, no, no. You've got to be, if you are curious to try men for the first time, you've got to try a cutie first.
Starting point is 00:22:16 So, um... Is that the rule? You've got to start with a cute. Otherwise, it would just really throw you. Right, you're saying if you start with a minger, you're not going to be like men, but you've just kind of like gone for a bad one. Yeah, yeah, it's like trying, I don't know, Thai food for the first time and going to the worst Thai restaurant in town.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Okay. You're going to try the sate at the best. I don't think I've ever had a bad pant tie. Shit actually. Because it's boring. This is a good point, isn't it? No one's hit me with a bad sartist. No, exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:46 You know what I mean? So it was a thing. He was flooded with requests people being like, I'm so suspicious of my boy. boyfriend. He's done 12 tests. $240 his mate. Do you think this is because of heated rivalry? Like girlfriends watching it with their boyfriends and the boyfriends are really into it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Should we watch another one? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Oh, rewind then, I missed that bit. Yeah, she's like, oh, maybe we should go to bed, we've got two Ets left. He's like, no, no, no. Yeah, yeah, keep watching. You go to bed, I'm just going to... Stamber, I want it, get you to-morrow. I'm just going to get these, um, the, the closeted red flag. Yeah, I'd love to know. Red flags to look out for.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I'd love to know if I'm ticking any of these. Uh, standby. I reckon you'll tick a few. Okay. So, of the 12 that he's done, 240 just for IOD purposes, four have responded positively. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 00:23:32 Four boyfriends turned out either gay, gay curious or willing to meet up. Wait, I'm sorry, turned out gay. Yeah, the rest said that they were straight or didn't respond at all, just like, oh, no thanks, dude. Yeah, right. And he then, for the $20 fee he receives, forwards the screenshots to the girlfriends without commentary. It's just like, here you go.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Take the, take the, thanks for the coffee. Processes as you would. Yeah. Okay, here you go. He said the biggest red flag is over the top aggressive homophobia. Yeah. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:24:04 But you know, anti, anti, anti, because they're just fighting, fighting what's inside. But then some little cutie comes along and pops the core. I mean, you see this all the time in American politics with all these outspoken homophobic figures. Conservatives and religious people. Yeah. And then they're busted on Grindrinder,
Starting point is 00:24:20 hooking up with dudes. Totally, yeah. You're just like, well, of course. Yeah. He said projected homophobia, the loudest ones. Because if you're not gay, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:24:30 You just like, I don't care if you are. I'm not. Whereas if you're coming out and being like, this is the problem. I'm the straightest you've ever seen. You're so gay. So he said he's not scaling up on this. He was like, you know, I'm not actually going to go
Starting point is 00:24:42 to the step where I meet them because that's putting him in danger. Unless they're really hot. Unless they're hot in your life, absolutely. Have a lot. He has received a bit of harassment for. And then send those screenshots to the girlfriend that's paid you 20 bucks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great, I can see why you're with them.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Yeah. Right. Three gay, the closeted red flags, extreme aggressive homophobia, phone secrecy and sudden shifts in privacy. So those last two would be. That's just anybody. That's just anybody. Yeah, yeah. I can't believe he's found that.
Starting point is 00:25:09 But, I mean, I guess they were concerned about it. Or they thought that that might be the case. Yeah, or you've seen a little history. You know, a little video history. I mean, we've all had a curious look around. But then that might make your relationship even hotter. Joe! If a seemingly straight man said to me, I'm having these feelings, I'll be like,
Starting point is 00:25:29 marry me. Jeez, throwing that around a few times this morning. Don't just look. Just get involved. I thought love was dead. It was dead six months ago, and now you want to hook up with a dude that wants to hook up with dudes. And marry him. On anyone.
Starting point is 00:25:44 We're just having five. 226. Get out there and live. Little Poe is so silly, silly, silly that is silly. Silly little pole, do you think you're a great cook? So Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, emphasis on the Peltz, because he's still fighting with his family. Brooklyn Beckham, like, shares cooking videos all the time.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Because you know David Beckham's a good cook. I'm going to make some steaks. I didn't know David Beckham was a good cook. He's a really good cook. He's got this, like, whole kitchen thing. Do you watch the doco? And he's got this outhouse with, like, a full kitchen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:30 You know, everything. He loves meats and just cooking little things. Anyway, so Brooklyn shares his recipes all the time And he always gets roasted by chefs being like I'm going to make this meal I'm going to follow his instructions to make this meal And it's like that is nothing That's not authentic, it's awful
Starting point is 00:26:43 And he made this cloud pizza Like a protein pizza with like fluffed egg wine You know everyone was like yuck Bro I want muscles but not enough to make pizza that bad Like look at the base on this thing Look how bad that looks It's just yuck it looks like a meat daddy
Starting point is 00:27:00 What's that on top? Basil Tomato Pull back on the basil. It's a basil pizza. It's a terrible pizza. You don't have that much basil. Turn it to pesto and get a drizzle on.
Starting point is 00:27:10 It's very hard. Very hard to make a pizza look unappetitizing. But he's done it. He's done it. Everyone's like, why are you sharing this? It looks terrible. It looks like something like a kid would make and be like, ma'am, ma'am, look.
Starting point is 00:27:25 We're making pizzas. Well done, little Tracy. Yeah, sure, I'll put it in the oven. Yeah. I made at the weekend a granted at home version of the short rib they make on the beer. You know the beer? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I made the at-home version
Starting point is 00:27:39 because I didn't have veal bones to blanche to make my own veal bone broth. So, you know, I had to make do with some beef stock. This guy over here in a constant living crisis. Yeah, we're all getting bloody reduced to clear meat at the supermarket. I made oxo-cues. It was free home-kill short rib that I was like, what am I going to do with this? Nice. And they have it just a little bit because it's fine dining restaurant. I see why, Christ, it was so rich. I woke over the middle of the night.
Starting point is 00:27:59 I was like, I'm going to be sick. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I love cooking. I spend way too much time every weekend in the kitchen cooking and then wonder why I don't get my other jobs done. I love it. I love it. I love the act of it, cooking with someone, feeding people.
Starting point is 00:28:15 It's therapeutic, isn't it? It is. This is today's question for silly little poll. How good are you at cooking? Are you terrible, average or great? Those are the three options. 6% of people said terrible. That's good.
Starting point is 00:28:27 33% of people said great. 61% said average. Okay. Did you answer? Did you answer? I put good. I put good. Yeah, I put good.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah, I put good. No good, says Brighton. Bloody lucky I have my wife. I can smoke meat, but that's it. Smoke meat. That's fine, though, if you can do that. You do that. You do that.
Starting point is 00:28:47 I can follow a recipe and can remember some and do them from memory, but when it comes to vibes-based cooking, those people who just taste and know what's missing, not a chance. I end up with some ghastly concoction. Hannah said, I'm more of a baker than a cook.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Cooking is easy than baking. a science. You've got to be so precise. We're going to talk soon about baking. I've got a pitch to make after a knee-jerk a purchase yesterday. More on that later. Stay tuned. Don't leave. I'm a two-minute noodles Michelin-star chef, says Carl.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Gemma, forced to watch my mum when I was 12 and write notes. Absolutely hated it, but now I'm thankful because I can cook. Yeah, that's good. Pepper and salt are overpowering spices for my palate, says Lucy. I don't really like lots of foods, so never learn how to cook for anyone but myself. Wow. Nightmare. Salt and pepper are too much.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Okay, we've got a chicken nuggy girl on our hands. That's all right. You do your boo. Samantha, because I love mixing flavors and experimenting, I'm very happy in the kitchen. I love making people happy and to be real. Love the praise I get when I make a good meal. Yeah, same. It's good praise. And if I work on something as well and really make it for you and take time and you don't immediately give me great praise and keep it coming. It'll never happen again. It's great.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Why do I bother? Logan says I cook well enough to keep myself alive. It's always a treat when I make something really tasty. And I'm like, well done me. I cook to survive, says Kara. If I win Lotto, I'll be hiring a full-time chef. Oh, I didn't even think about that. Because then you could be like, listen up, chef.
Starting point is 00:30:19 I need to get shreds. Yes, yeah, yeah. Make it delish. Make it delish and shred. Well, Wednesday, if you do win Lotto, you'll have 20 million to spend on a personal chef. We're back. I won't have 20 million because I'll be giving some of it to my dear friends, Fletch and Vaugh. Yeah, we're back.
Starting point is 00:30:32 The syndicate's back. Are we back? Is the syndicate back? Sondicate's own. Getting the syndicate back? I put, I'm a great chef, but the reason I'm great is because no one is in their house cooks. So there's nothing else to compare it to. Yeah, great.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Well, for Sillet-l poll, we asked how good are you at cooking and 61% of you said average. The ZDM Podcast Network. ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley. This is some fashion news. We need to stop this in its tracks. Chanel. Chanel, one of the most respected fashion houses of all time. released in their 2027 resort collection,
Starting point is 00:31:05 the barefoot sandal, and it was immediately worn on the red carpet by the wonderful Margaret Qualey, who I love. Oh yeah. She's in some movie with Jacob Allardy at the moment called The Dog Stars or something. Yeah, post-apocalyptic stuff. And he can fly a plane.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Oh, yeah. And they go looking for something. Helpful. That you can fly a plane in the apocalypse as long as you've got gas. Well, the three of us would be screwed. Fletch, I'd be putting that on you, Mr. Plain enthusiast.
Starting point is 00:31:30 No, I don't know how to fly a plane. You've been figuring out if you're really enthusiastic about them. I'm so full of white male arrogance, so I'll give it a go. Well, I did that show, Dan Bauman's show, where I had to do a flight simulator land a plane. How'd you go? I landed it in the Wellington airport as in the wheels touched down. And as I turned around to celebrate that I had done this, the plane burst into flames. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:31:51 You don't want that. It was a rough going. So don't look at me when the apocalypse comes. He's on food and bunker. I'm on laughs and vibes. And obviously, probably procreation. and I'm sorry, but if we're, you know, if it's up to us three, you're both going to have to do it.
Starting point is 00:32:05 So they're not all siblings. I'm going to crash the plane before she makes us. Open the shoot, kick around. And that's how humanity ended. Because no one wanted to shag Haley. We refused. So anyway, so Margaret Qualey, amazing actress, she did the red carpet for this movie.
Starting point is 00:32:22 That's why we're talking about this. And she was seen in this beautiful Chanel dress and on her feet, everyone was like, duh, is that? Oh, it was ghastly. So imagine a barefoot, which I just would have preferred. Everyone would be like, how behemian. Well, it's a resort collection.
Starting point is 00:32:36 You're at the resort. You're at the rich Shepoole. Yes. With Magandah, couldn't find them in my barefoot. It's called the Naked Shoe. So it's a barefoot, toes, ball, arch, all completely bare. And then imagine the back of a sandal, like just a leather cap on the sandal with a small bit. That's all it is tied to the foot.
Starting point is 00:32:57 like the just Fletch just to remind you because they're just going to be sick You know that's disgusting It just makes no sense It's like a pirate's eye patch But just for your heel Okay someone said
Starting point is 00:33:11 Okay here's some reviews online Fugly and Impractical Yeah Um O O that's a great little Too much This is stupid as hell
Starting point is 00:33:21 If it's half a shoe It should cost half as much Now Georgia just walked in She loves a half shoe She loves a half shoe Actually, Georgia. Georgia wears a whole shoe, but it just doesn't. She's wearing her Adidas, some bars today.
Starting point is 00:33:34 No, but sometimes she wears like a boot that should be a boot, but it's a half shoe. But the boot doesn't have a back, it's a backless boot. It's called a mule. It's not a mule. Now, have you seen this called Mule? Hi, Georgia. Because you look like an ass. Well done on the Alex Warren interview.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Hey, thank you. I have a little review to give you. You weren't even there. No, but I didn't need to be to see something abominable. Anyway. Oh, I know it was. Let's just say some respect. What do you think of these Chanel
Starting point is 00:34:01 Cat heel? The fact that she's immediately got Ming feet now like as she's walking, like she's already got dirty feet. Do you know what they mean? So I nip into the supermarket in summer and you go in barefoot and you come out and you're like, ugh.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Yeah, all sorts of, wrappers stuck to the bottom of your feet, you know? Yeah. Now here's the punch line. How much are they worth in New Zealand dollars? Well, they're Chanel, right? What are they made of? Leather.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Leather cap. the little, so it's a leather cap on the heel with two bits of leather string. I'm going to say something stupid like $1,200. $8.95. 4 grand. No, they're not. Don't swear we're on the radio.
Starting point is 00:34:37 4 grand off. But you look ridiculous. Literally no one's buying those. Fugly and impractical is my favorite review of their shoes. For 4 grand. That's insane. You're not even getting... Just go to like the Salvation Army, if you're into this.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Buy, get a pair of summer sandals. Cut. of it off except for the hill. Tie that on with a shoelace. That's, what is that, like $10? Not for me? No. Not for me.
Starting point is 00:35:05 No, we'll pass on that one. I haven't seen, pass on that. I haven't seen anyone online. Like them. Say yes, please. No, I can't imagine. Immediately. Here's a little bit like rage bait.
Starting point is 00:35:13 You know how Balenciaga does rage bait when they're like, here's a trash bag? Guys, you know who's going to be going for them? The ones that are grounding. Yes, yes. The ground is, we'll go for them. Yeah, that's what I thought. Your whimsical.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Yeah. Well, you're most filthy hippies. have four grand. I'm not. I'd be amazed. The ZM Podcast Network Play ZM's Flesh, Foran and Haley. So this is a stat that
Starting point is 00:35:36 blew my mind. Nearly four in ten Kiwi new car buyers never test drive their car. So you mean new car as in the cars are brand new? The cars are brand new.
Starting point is 00:35:49 So they just trust this car's going to be for me because it's new and I've had one before. Like as someone that doesn't own a car and I rent a lot of cars or I borrow cars or whatever. Yeah. You're always in different cars and some cars you're like,
Starting point is 00:36:01 oh, I don't like this. I don't like how this is. A feel. You click on the car. And so that just blew my mind. I've never had, I've never bought a new car. Oh, I bought that old Mazda off of packs
Starting point is 00:36:14 and we went for a little drive. Yeah. You know what I mean? And I tested this out. And if you'd done your... Not enough of a drive though. That was a bit of a pickle one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:21 And if you'd had someone look over that car, they would have said there's no spare tire in you. It was a pickle. It literally was a pickle. It literally was a little. one of the most dad cars and in my relationship with Pax has never been the same. But no, and now I'm the Maz Basterder. I just get given cars for a while.
Starting point is 00:36:35 So they researched just over 2,000 Kiwis in this. This is a trade me cars consumer insights report. 38% of new car buyers purchased without testing the vehicle. I guess they're just in the dealership. So yeah, like you say, they trust it. Yeah, yeah, totally. I mean, if it's a trusted brand, you're like, how bad can it be? But so if there's that many people with new cars,
Starting point is 00:36:56 I wonder if it's like this for secondhand. And this is what I want to ask this morning, 0,800 dials at em and text through 9-696. Did you buy a lemon of a car? Because you didn't... Sometimes you just hear of, like, the most screwed up things, because people put a little bit of, like, lip gloss on a car, and then they palm it off, and they like, see you, trade me?
Starting point is 00:37:14 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that's the thing. If you are going to spend all this money, you've got to get someone to go over it. But then, if you're buying a car that's only worth a few grand, Do you want to pay like $5,600 for someone to be like, No. No.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Nah. No, you're just like, I sort of know what I'm getting. Okay, well, 0,800 at M, 9-6-9-6. Have you bought a lemon of a car? You didn't test drive? Yeah. Or you didn't notice something when you were buying it? I mean, my first car was $500.
Starting point is 00:37:39 So I got what I paid for. Yeah. But it had the shudder of death, which would be you'd be driving along. And if you felt it under your feet go, you had to pull over because it was about to break down. It was about to stop. It was like, that was your warning. It was never gas or oil or anything.
Starting point is 00:37:55 It was just like, it got like a little like post-pee, like... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you're like, quickly get over. And that's the thing. Sometimes if it's just 500 bucks, you're not test driving it. Or it's a friend's car and so you trust them. How many people do you know that bought a car of a friend? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:09 And it broke down. And then you're like, this is shit. Oh, you don't buy a car of a friend. No. Never buy a car or a friend. No, don't do that. Okay, 0800,000M, text through 966. Did you have a lemon of a car?
Starting point is 00:38:21 Right now, though, when did you buy a lemon of a car? Because nearly four in ten Kiwis are not test driving. A brand new car. And you can understand it's brand new, so that's fine. I don't know, but if it was a brand new car, meaning it's more expensive, tens of thousands of dollars sometimes. You want to sit in it at least and feel it's right. But so people are doing this as well for second-hand cars.
Starting point is 00:38:47 A lot of you were texting in and calling in with some horror stories. The most New Zealand thing ever to fly. She'll be right at the other end of the country and buy something sight unseen. John, you did this. Yeah, a little bit. Me and my mate did it. Yeah, it was an epic road trip. Okay, so, tell us. What did you buy?
Starting point is 00:39:03 It was a Nissan Safari. So, jacked up on big tires, big lift, big engine, that kind of thing. Yeah, okay. And so you had to fly to Auckland to pick this car up. From where? Yep. I don't know. Something near the beach. No, no, sorry. Where did you fly up from? We're based in Timmeroo.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Oh, brilliant. Wow. So tell us what happened when you got here. So we flew up, we checked out the car, took it for a spin around Auckland. It ran pretty well. You know, a few russ patches had been fixed up, but we thought, oh, yeah, we'll give us a shot.
Starting point is 00:39:33 We were young. So we said yes, and handed over $14,000 and a road trip to home. We made it out of Auckland and the clutch went on us. We lost the safe cylinder. So every time you did it change gears, you're just taking a breath and smashing it. Yeah, pretty much. We did what we could. We saved the clutch fluid that we had for downshifting.
Starting point is 00:39:56 We're just like bang-shifted up through the gears for the six-hour road trip to Wellington. That's a bit of a laugh, really. It's literally just where you just don't clutch it. You just jam the... Do you just ram it in and then the car just has to figure it out? So you get to Wellington... It's fine. Did you get on the ferry or did you have to fix it in Wellington?
Starting point is 00:40:15 No, so we got the news slave to... We got a sweet-talk of garage to do a cash job on the side, literally, right then in front of us. To then meet the one o'clock ferry we'd be able to push back. Are you messaging this guy you bought this lemon off being like, yo? Yeah, but yeah, it goes nobody. He's blocked us already, so. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:40:34 14K! So, okay, we're only at Wellington. We're not even on the ferry yet. What's the second after the trip got? So, classically, if you ever ride the ferry, it gets delayed. So it got delayed. Pushed us into the night by the time he sort of left picked in. And then we started to lose one.
Starting point is 00:40:50 headlight and then the other headlight. Oh no. It's an edro of line. Oh my God, that's brilliant. So, I don't know if you've tried it, but driving on the highway using only a hazards is a bit intimidating. Hazards? Oh, you shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:41:04 John, you shouldn't be doing that. They were young. They were young. They were young. They were young. They were young. We looked back. Wait, so hang on.
Starting point is 00:41:10 And then you get this thing home. I mean, you lived, hello. And then what? Well, then we had booked in for some modifications. We wanted to, you know, new tires, new liver. that sort of thing, take it to the shop. They look over and they're like, sorry, your chassis is full of rust.
Starting point is 00:41:27 The vehicle's a done. It's a dust. It's completely right off. But, I mean, $14,000. But at least you've got a good story, but it's not a $14,000 story, is it? That's a $3,000 story. That's a $3,000.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Great three grand yarn. Yeah, just, I know. Yeah, it would have been far better. Completely non-spon, but non-members of the AA can pay $229 for someone to look over that car before you buy it. Yeah, Jono. When you're buying a Nissan Safari off a West Aucklander who's definitely thrashed up
Starting point is 00:41:54 and down Moodleway and not wash the salt off The AA's never going to give that the tick of approval Even if it's in good nick apart from a couple of things John and the lads just wanted to thrash up You would have saved $13,800 I'm just saying Yeah Ah Johno what a yarn, thank you so much We'll get to more of your calls and texts next
Starting point is 00:42:12 There are some cautionary tales here Yeah We've got a few of them When did you buy a lemon of a car Maybe you didn't test drive, you didn't get it checked. Haley, what happened? Good morning. Good morning.
Starting point is 00:42:26 It was my now husband. We were 18 at the time and we needed a car and he ended up buying this cool as car. It was a Mitsubishi Domante. It was a flat one. It had a spoiler. Okay. We were quite excited about it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And then four months into driving this cool, car. Yeah, cool. The repo company turned up at his work and decided to take it because the previous owners took it, didn't pay. That's right, because what do you do when you buy a car you meant to check? Yeah, it doesn't. You can do it on car jam.
Starting point is 00:43:07 It'll say there's any out. Or lemon check or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If it's owed money or finance. Oh, my God, that's such. Over 20 years have internet on our phone. Oh, right. It was on time.
Starting point is 00:43:18 at all. Wow. Yeah. Okay. What's the other lemon? Oh, the other lemon. Well, this was a couple of years later when I thought that we might have learned our lesson.
Starting point is 00:43:30 He just needed a car, so he purchased one off Trade Me and it was in Hamilton. Yep. Which we probably should have known right then and there. It probably wasn't a good car. Excuse you. Booze. Excuse you. Shots fired.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Where are you calling from? were you living at the time? Oh, no comment. Someone who screwed down. Parmy. Yeah, all right. You watch yourself, Palmerston. And so you caught a bus all the way up to Hamilton.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Got the Sabari Legacy. Close. Of course. And a week later. Of course, Subaru's. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, a week later, the clutch lit out. Is he in charge of buying the cars now?
Starting point is 00:44:20 I bet. Oh, he's done better now after 20 years. I bet he absolutely frashed the living shit out of that Subara on the drive from Hamilton to Parme. He took the desert road. He opened her up on the desert road, I bet. So good. Haley, thank you. Jess, when did you buy a lemon?
Starting point is 00:44:38 What happened? Sorry, was that Jess? Yes, Jess. Go ahead, Jess. Yeah, so it was my first car. It was a Honda stick hatch, and it went alright to begin with, but then the temperature would always crank right up to hot, and so I had to always drive just on full, no matter what the weather,
Starting point is 00:45:02 and so that's off and windows down, and carry like a two-liter milk bottle of water in the car, because at the traffic lights, it was like rush and really, am I going to hit the red? and then often it would so I have to pull over after the lights pop the bonnet top up the water and then carry on on my trip
Starting point is 00:45:23 Oh gosh The only thing cooling it was the air Was the air flowing through the engine when you were going? Yeah, yeah pretty much Beat you bloody loved it downhill, chuck it in a neutral and just coasted Oh look at the temperature's needle going down Yeah
Starting point is 00:45:38 But then to make it worse I was driving along one day and I could hear this tink, tink, tink. And I thought, should I better pull over? What is that? So I pulled over. But when I pulled over, I was kind of half over the driveway. So I reversed.
Starting point is 00:45:53 And I heard this, like, raunching noise. So what was that noise again? I just didn't get there. The noise. What was the noise? Oh, it was like a quack. Like a real, warching noise. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:46:06 I love when cars make that noise. Yeah, like metal on concrete. And I got out. and it was the exhaust pipe and it'd come off, and I'd reversed over it. Oh, geez. Tink, was it bouncing along the road as you were driving? Yep.
Starting point is 00:46:24 That's good stuff. Oh, my God. We love a civic, though? Okay, and if we learn our lesson after this, Gess, do we get our cars checked before we buy one? Do we test drive? I'm getting definitely a test drive. I'm getting better at the checks.
Starting point is 00:46:37 This was the 90s, you know. I was going to say, this had big 90s. I drove around a start for years with a couple of milk bottles with water in and under the front seat. Yeah, yeah. It was just what we did at the time. My Honda prelude, we had to have a, yeah, 4-liter water canister in the boot just in case. Yeah. Just what you did.
Starting point is 00:46:53 It's just what you did. It's just, we'll never know, eh? Never know that we used to have to really work for our cars. Sometimes we leave our headlights on and there wouldn't be a little thing that dinged us to tell us that our headlights. No. I tried being a smoker with windows that didn't go down. That was awful. We used to drive over the centre line.
Starting point is 00:47:08 It wouldn't pull you back in. No. I know. I know. If you fell asleep, it was like, good night. And if you didn't manually turn off your indicator, you were the dickhead driver for ages with your indicator on. Some message is in.
Starting point is 00:47:19 There's so many of them. Someone said, you have freaked me right out. Last week, I flew up to Hamilton and spent $33,000 on a Ford Ranger site unseen. So far, so good, but I'll let you know if it goes bad. I mean, I guess it would be newish if it's that price, right? So you're probably fine. But, God, why don't people get checks? Bought a Ford Focus in 2021 for 20 grand.
Starting point is 00:47:38 $20,000. Four weeks owning it, I needed a new petrol tank. Twelve weeks, I was going back to Ford dealership, and after 12 weeks it needed a whole new transmission. Oh, wow. Lemon. Someone said, don't buy anything from Northland. This is scathed.
Starting point is 00:47:56 I've been scarred before. It's a real regional shots fired here. There has been. Some real, some real regional shots fired. Yeah. Purchased the car from Auckland. I made my judgment entirely. on how trust whether the person looked on their
Starting point is 00:48:10 Facebook profile. Yeah. Got home a couple of weeks later needed to replace the radiator. I still think that was just a coincidence. I still have the car though and is all good. Okay. Okay. Yeah. My parents got me my aunties farm car as my first car. Spent
Starting point is 00:48:26 thousands getting at road driveable. We took the word word that it was all good. Farm car. Yeah. Farm car would have been like a Suzuki or something. Yeah. God. Someone said they bought a a car and it blew up.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Do you want to give us any more information about that? They said, oh, it turned out it was a manufacturing fault. Jeepers. Right. Somebody said I actually avoided this by taking it to the local mechanic and just saying, can you give this a look over? Yeah, and they'll be honest. They plugged in their little diagnostic machine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:56 And it turned out the car yard selling it had just also plugged in a diagnostic machine and been like, clear lights. Wow. Clear lights. You can just clear the dashboard. I've never played with one of those diagnostic machines. I've seen them at the... Wow.
Starting point is 00:49:10 I love this. That someone bought a car off of Facebook marketplace. They got off to the house and they said, oh, do you want to have a look under the hood? And they were like, yeah, yeah, have a look under the hood. Just stood there like that. They're like, I don't know what I'm looking at. So technically did give it a bit of a look over.
Starting point is 00:49:21 And I just acted like, I knew. And we said, yeah, that looks pretty good. It was like, oh, well. Engines there. Yeah, I see an engine and something else. What is this where the 710 goes? Yeah, yeah. Oh, mate, that's oil.
Starting point is 00:49:30 You're just reading the cap upside now. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's, Flesh, Horn, Now, yesterday I tried something for the first time And I Cannot believe I did this So my boyfriend Or which he's a real nerd
Starting point is 00:49:49 You've a hard launch this I've hard launched I have a boyfriend Yeah He's a name Lovers, lovers The name is Mike Love is alive
Starting point is 00:49:56 Love is alive Um She's talked about marriage twice on the show This is gonna really drop on some hints there might It's because um You know Brand Psychic brand came in and said
Starting point is 00:50:06 I'm gonna get engaged So Yeah. I've got to open my mind. It's all in the numbers. Thai whore, everyone. Yeah. Anyway, so my boyfriend is a nerd,
Starting point is 00:50:14 which was unexpected because he's hot. So it's sort of, I didn't really know that that was a thing. Case and point. But case and point. Do you know what I mean? It's going to be hot. Case and point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Case and point. I'm sort of surprised. I mean, it's subjective, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I didn't realize. Beauty is in the eye of the behold of it. Exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Mike soft launched his nerd onto me when I was already sort of hooked. and I feel like I got played a bit. You know what I mean? Do you get catfished? Yeah, yeah, I was like, cool guy. And then... It starts creeping in? Little bit.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I think he was pretty up front with it. I think someone's just trying to retain a little bit of like cool. I don't think I realized. It was pretty up front with it. He was. He was literally his nickname was Batman. Because he showed his collection of Batman.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Suits. And that wasn't a red flag. No. Interesting. Anyway, so he's a nerd and he likes to do nerd things. And he had some family up for the the weekend and we were, you know, hanging around. I was like, what do we do on
Starting point is 00:51:12 the weekend? And we went to one of those like thrill places that has escape rooms and sim racing and all this kind of stuff. Christ, who are you? Hangover free. Hang over free. No, we didn't do an escape room. We've done one of those. You've previously done an escape room.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I should have sent you a photo? We were pirates. You think you know someone. You think you know someone, eh? I mean, you did do the TV show. Celebrity escape. This is my first time. No, no, no, we went to a place on the North Shore called Thrill Zone, and we did an Omni VR, which, I've seen a video of this before. You go on like a pad.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Oh, I wanted to try this. It's like a dish like this. And you put on the gayest little shoes. Like, they're the same. They made me want to like, dude, the gays don't want anything to do with these shoes. They made me want to tap dance, the shoes. You put on shoes, like when you're bowling and suddenly your outfit's not working anymore. So you put on these, like,
Starting point is 00:52:08 little shoes and then you're in this disc and they belt you around the waist. Yeah. And you're in this thing where you can like spin 360 like this. You can move and the shoes skid. You like lean forward and you skit and then they lower down who am I. They lower down a VR headset. And you are in this world and you run in this thing with like by leaning forward. What did you do in the world? Do you shoot things? Is it like? Yes. We do. We do. We do. We shoot things? Is it like
Starting point is 00:52:37 Yeah, so we did, you do one, you do three games. One was like a warm-up one to learn how to run. I can't even remember what that was. And then we did zombies. Cool. It was cool, but for some reason I kept, like, the boys had guns and and I kept having a stick with nails on it. So I had to get real close to the zombies.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Oh, you got the dud whip. Yeah, I kept getting the dud weapon. I think they could tell. So we did zombies, and then we did pirates. We had to beat Captain Longbeard or whatever it was, Blackbeard or something like that. So I'm like running on this thing. Zombies and Pirates, by the way, are like two of the
Starting point is 00:53:13 hold-ups for the nerd world. Yeah. You're fully... Here I am. You've gone deep end. Yeah, and you've got microphones and stuff and I kept saying, like I was really into it. I remember when Haley used to come out for cocktail parties.
Starting point is 00:53:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, she's changed. She's changed. I'm running on an Omni pad on the North Shore on a Sunday. Yeah. And then I kept... stuffing it up and the woman who was working there, bless this, Sophia was her name,
Starting point is 00:53:39 had to keep sort of being like, I'm going to get you to, hey, I'm going to get you to not touch that, I'm going to get you to do this. What you're going to do is you're going to stop doing what you're doing? Oh, she was gentle, parenting you. Oh, I'm getting gentle and parented by, I'm guessing someone younger than you. Because I kept looking around, and so I decalibrated where the head was. I was running into walls.
Starting point is 00:54:00 And I kept saying, like, and then I could see the boys running off and I was like, I'm running into, I'm stuck on a wall. They kept stopping the game. At one point I had to swap machines because I screwed it. Like I was quite embarrassingly bad at it. And at the end, they give you a photo. Yeah. That they, oh, I have to find it.
Starting point is 00:54:16 They give you a photo where you are on a tightrope or you're on a, you're like running away from a dinosaur or something. And the only thing you can see is how, like, wet with sweat I got running on this. Running on the Omni what? Omni VR. Omni VR. So you're a mess. Just a quick look, Omni VR were on Shark Tank, were they?
Starting point is 00:54:40 And everyone turned them down. And the little discs, yeah. And then later on, apparently Mark Cuban reached out and gave them some money and that got them started. Yeah, wow. I mean, I highly recommend. Okay, you're a hot mess in the real world and the VR world. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Literally, you know how like I'm being called a tornado or like a living, walking nightmare or a bit much?
Starting point is 00:54:58 Yeah. Also in VR. Also in space and on a pirate ship and in a zombie apocalypse. And with dinosaurs. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not working. Play Z-D-Ms, Fletch, Vaughn and Haley. How does this sound?
Starting point is 00:55:11 Use adult money to accomplish childhood dreams. Yeah. That is the new trend that are, particularly the girlies, but anyone can do this. It's a travel trend. So, you know, like people travel for like a wine mix. This is travelling for the sole purpose of doing something nostalgic. For example, going to Hillary Duff. because she's been touring around.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Apparently the concert looks amazing. We have tickets. We believe. Our friend group is terrible at getting drunk and making tickets. Big group decisions. And then I don't know who's got the tickets. It's not us. If I'm even going.
Starting point is 00:55:51 It's in my calendar. Maybe I'm going to Hilaryana. No, definitely. 9-6-96. If you're a member of the gaggle and you bought the tickets. I know three songs. But I will enjoy the night. I know.
Starting point is 00:56:02 or probably one song from Instagram. She better do all the songs, I know. Yeah, yeah, for sure. She will. She will. She'll have to. So this is what people are doing. They're going like, we're going to travel to see Hillary Duff
Starting point is 00:56:19 or people would be doing this of like no doubt or T-Pain or whatever. Making a whole trip out of it and even theming their outfits and their travel. Recently, I'll produce a Katie. She went to Vegas. Best Street Boys. Backstreet boys. By herself. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:34 And then you'd probably wear a cool Y2K outfit. And they were all dressed up as the backstreet boys. It was fun. Yeah. So fun. And we've talked about this a little bit as a group. We would love to go to the When We Were Young Festival, which is always in America. It's always in Vegas.
Starting point is 00:56:49 In Vegas. Yeah. And it's a like emo, like pop punk. It's like bands like Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy. Aval Out Boy. Avril Levine. Blink 182. All those kind of 2000s bands.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Yeah. So if we were to do this in a disco. nostalgia holiday tree and we would do that but our suitcase would be full of like black t-shirts and like we'd get a little like eyeliner going and some bandanas and stuff I think it's such a nice way of doing like a friend's trip like centering it
Starting point is 00:57:15 around it's usually centered around like an artist that you'd see from your from your childhood Hillary Duff that we do I'm like I hope we've got tickets because I've been reading so many of the reviews online about her concert and apparently is amazing and she takes the piss out of herself of that dance
Starting point is 00:57:31 yeah that she did And she's stacked. Do you? She's ripped. Yeah, she's ripped. She just signed it a couple of years ago. She's like, I'm so tired of trying to be skinny. I want to be strong.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Play Z-D-M. Fletch for him. Haley. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. Yeah. Do do-dood-to-do-to-to-do-to-to-do do-to-do do do do do do. Do do do do do do. Fact of the day is more to you by
Starting point is 00:58:02 St. Piers. In my little chiller bag here, I have homemade ice cream because today's, this week's theme is ice cream. And this is homemade orange chocolate chip icing. Ice cream. My girlfriend, Amy, made this. Is this cream and condensed milk one? Correct. Don't say that. That's a
Starting point is 00:58:18 secret spiral recipe. That's a secret recipe. Oh, I love when people like, oh my good, it's a secret. Literally with ingredients from the supermarket. I'm sorry. Oh, you're family secret. My mum, it was in a a recipe in my brother's kindergarten, like, take home letter. and she's secret sprawl recipe
Starting point is 00:58:33 and every time I said that they're like cream and condensed milk and then the fruit and they're like that's how you do it put it in the kitchen aid and all whipped up the cream and then you fold in some other stuff and then so we got the zest off two oranges because I've got an orange tree my orange tree cranks but
Starting point is 00:58:47 but you're scabby because I don't like zesting my fruit because it's scabbed you've got scabby fruit I've got a nice clean sweet navel I think my orange tree is a sweet navel orange I zested two oranges I think so I absolutely can no no no no have mine please because my tree it's Overloader.
Starting point is 00:59:02 Do you want scabby? I want nice ones. You're not eating the scalp, but. This is why St. Pierre's came to me. Can we have an orange off? Should we, okay, tomorrow. I'm going to run. Orange.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Orange. This is a kind of radio. Blind orange. Blind orange off. Blind orange off. This is the kind of radio people are excited about. A blind orange off. Fletch tastes the orange and also sees the orange.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Should we, I think we should supply it in multi-form. Am I like he should have a wedge like he's just played a game of soccer? Correct. And I think he should have a small shot of juice. Yes. Oh, no, I think he should... Oh, were you saying we juice? Okay. No, I think just a wedge.
Starting point is 00:59:37 Okay, a wedge. A blind lemon off. Interesting. But it has to be, you have to be blind folded because mine is scathe. Then we juice the orange and we reduced that to syrup. Oh, slight. And then mix them in. I didn't grow the chocolate chips. Okay, and this is the theme for factor that I all wake is ice cream.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Okay, well, see, this is what we asked. It's a little bit soft. I did put in a chiller bag, but it's not. He literally doesn't have it in the freezer. Oh, my God. Why are you trying it first? You literally had it last. I didn't. I haven't tasted it. This is the first taste.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Why would you make ice cream last night and not try it? Because I had it frozen. Actually, I'd say the consistency is lovely. Oh my God. Lovely. I've never gone back. We'll get on with the fact of the day, please. You want to try some. Well, I'll try some while you get on with it. Listeners don't care about us eating ice cream. I thought we were shredding. Why'd you bring that and why'd you bring so much? You need a poop. You need a poop, so we've put some dairy in here.
Starting point is 01:00:24 I've done half a poop in seven days. Good Lord, that's amazing. Isn't that great ice cream? Can you pass it back around? I think we'll just do another cycle. I need to use your spoon fletch. Oh. Well, it's ice cream work here at Factor of the day, and I'm just tucking into some homemade obviously.
Starting point is 01:00:37 Watch out tip top. Watch out, here he comes. Watch yourself. What do you think? In New Zealand, New Zealand, this is today's fact. New Zealand needs more ice cream per capita than any other country on the planet. 28 litres per person per year.
Starting point is 01:00:54 What? I'm not eating that much. Who is? My friend Caller meets a lot of ice cream. I reckon him and Johnny would be packing up most of ale. think a tub is how much? Two liters? Two liters. A two-leater tub of ice cream. Yeah, two-liter tub. So how many of those? That's what? 14 of those each. Now my dad who owns a fair bit of ice cream. I reckon you just get through it more than you realize.
Starting point is 01:01:14 Do you reckon it's the oldies as well? Yeah. And if you're buying a tub or two of that a week, yeah. Of course that's, we easily get much. It's actually not that much. We eat more than the US who do 21 litres per person. God, and that's terrible. And Australia do 18. I would have eaten more ice cream. Hatter. Oh, that because of the hotter. Do you know, is it baked into us? Now we've got to have pudding. Put. The key we put, you know, the tub of ice cream.
Starting point is 01:01:37 It's always in the freezer. What do you think is the most well-selling, the highest selling ice cream in New Zealand? Pokey-Pokey. Flavour. Second. Neapolitor. It better not be vanilla.
Starting point is 01:01:47 It'll be chocolate. Ew, we suck. No, it's because the place that do the fresh fruit ice cream, they can only buy vanilla. You think about all the vanilla ice cream that's purchased to be flavoured post-purchase. Yeah, it's got the. It's adaptable.
Starting point is 01:02:01 You can do anything to it. And so Hokey Pokey was actually originated in Dunedin. Oh yeah. In New Zealand. When they originally started making Hoki Poki, the Toffee was in bigger chunks and tip-top switched to small honeycomb balls
Starting point is 01:02:15 around 1980. So actually, can't... Haley. Small honeycomb balls. You've got small honeycomb balls. So... Hokey Pocke is just what New Zealand call them. People around the world don't call it that.
Starting point is 01:02:31 They call it things like honeycomb toffee, cinder toffee or sponge candy. Oh, so we're the only ones that call it hokey pokey. Hokey pokey. And not to be confused with the dance. Yeah. Which is technically called the hokey-cokey-coki. But I grew up calling it the hokey-toki-toki too. Well, the hokey-toky.
Starting point is 01:02:50 In the South Island they just call it the hokey-pokey. You do the hokey-pokey and you turn around. That's different as well. You do the hoopy-pokes me. Which one is it? The dance is the hokey-foot in, you put your own. But in New Zealand, we call it the hokey-toki-toki or the hokey-cokey or the hokey-pokey. Koki and Toki are both too drug-heavy.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Toki is too insinuate it. But in the South Island they're just like be damned with it. It's the one named after the ice cream. Okay. Poki-Kroki. Today's fact of the day in the first four ice cream week and the orange chalkchack homemade ice cream and it has absolutely knocked about the pile. It's going to have very well with everybody,
Starting point is 01:03:31 is that New Zealand eats more ice cream than any other country in the world per capita. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day, day. Do do do do do do to do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. Fact of the day brought to you by St. Piers. Plays AZM's, Flesh, Forne and Haley. So when was your proposal? ruined because there is a couple.
Starting point is 01:04:03 This was the dream proposal that she had mentioned it and he'd organised it all at the bloody MET. The MET where the gala is, the MET museum. Yes. On the steps and he's taken her there and they're up at the front of the MET. Down he goes. It's all being filmed.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Beautiful. On a knee. And she does a classic handover mouth. Yep. Burst into tears. He says, will you marry me? And before she can even speak, a security guard starts barking at him
Starting point is 01:04:32 tells him to get up on his feet and tells him proposals are not allowed on the gallery like get it get out where you are get out of here you're not allowed to do that oh no millions of views now yeah abrupt interruption they're just like is it because it stopped would stop traffic and people would like yeah maybe
Starting point is 01:04:50 the flow of people through wouldn't it yeah yeah but it doesn't look in this video that there's many people around them like you just let it go right it's actually fine it's over it's over in a second I know, it literally takes no time, but he like barks. And literally, like, look at her jaw is on the floor. She's like, ah.
Starting point is 01:05:06 Dars. And they said they felt a bit like scrambled and everything and obviously just like kind of, you know, made way. And he does. He like leaps up and they kind of shuffle other way. She was like, no, it didn't ruin the moment. Great story to tell now. And great video too, which has been viewed a lot. Yeah, yeah, millions of times.
Starting point is 01:05:23 But apparently the Met came out and said that the security guy was actually out of order. They were like, no, we don't mind them as long as it doesn't, you know, there's no huge big film crew or anything like that. Yeah. Or like a giant flash mob or anything like that. Yeah. I mean, we just don't think we do those in general. Any more known. Flash mobs.
Starting point is 01:05:42 But anyway, the moment was ruined. She said yes, but they're fine. And they were like, oh, you know, it still kind of happened. I love these stories, though, of when the proposals don't go to plan. Well, we asked us on Instagram and someone messaged in that it was on the beach and someone yelled out, don't do it. Love instead, was it you? And it was me and I had a couple of wines on the viaduct. But a guy yelled out, don't do it as my husband was proposing on the beach.
Starting point is 01:06:05 God of it, it's kind of funny. It's very funny. Don't do it! Very Kiwi and very funny. Very key way. Okay, well these are the stories we want to hear from you. 0,800,000, and whether it was your engagement or someone you knows. Maybe you ruined it.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Maybe you stumbled into an engagement and went, oh, God, I've ruined it. A lot get ruined by finding the rings. Yeah. Because partners change their habits. and so people get suspicious and they think they're cheating. They happen to my friends at the Taj Mahal because you go through a big security thing with your bags and stuff and she was standing there
Starting point is 01:06:35 and the guy goes in and pulls out this box and was like, what's in here? And he was like, I guess, will you marry me? And the security guy was like, yes. Yeah, the security guy's saying yes, and they live a beautiful gay life. In India, yeah, yeah, lovely.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Beautiful. Okay, 9-6-96 to text us. 0800 at Emerson number. Some messages in. A guy interrupted us when we were proposing to ask for directions in very broken English And the worst part was my partner then completely ignored me, turned to him and gave him a wicked amount of directions Yeah, that's nice of him, that's a good man though Yeah, you're marrying a good man there?
Starting point is 01:07:13 Yeah, you're marrying a kind man. Can't concentrate anything. Can't focus. Stevie said I was in my dressing gown. That felt like it ruined it a little bit. Oh, yeah. Zania said him not doing it yet is really going to really be. ruin it when it does happen.
Starting point is 01:07:27 High winds canceled to planned hot air balloon ride. It was supposed to happen when we're up there. Oh. I mean... Yes, you could just do it on the basket on the ground. Yeah. With just sort of the balloon kind of just to the side. You know, you can't have the high winds. You probably couldn't even have your balloon flopped. No, because you'd
Starting point is 01:07:45 take off. You probably just go home, grab the washing basket and go and stand on the deck into it there. But like, get in the washing basket. I'm too big. Yeah, you are. Me having a panic attack ruined it. Too nervous? Yeah, maybe very nervous, nervous. Okay, keep your text coming in.
Starting point is 01:07:59 9-6-96-0-800-m. How was the proposal ruined? What, I interrupted, maybe ruined the proposal. Yeah. This morning, we're talking about this because somebody tried to propose on the Met Steps and got told not to. They said, you're allowed, but obviously not if it's causing problems in the security guard. It was just like, well, just doing my job.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Give me a break. We were walking our lab puppy and it interrupted a beach proposal. Luckily the guy said they've been talking about getting a lab So they saw it as their sign of good things to come Oh, cute My partner's mother had a falling out with him So to get back at him She showed me the engagement ring
Starting point is 01:08:32 He was going to propose with two days before he proposed Safe to say we don't speak to her anymore I still said yes and we are engaged What some mum's carry on like crazy eh It's so bizarre Insane So bizarre oh my God I would just be like
Starting point is 01:08:47 Do I even want to marry into this family I mean luckily he has the sense to be like Oh no no that's maniacal Yeah. I answered my husband's phone. He was driving. It was the jeweller. Even though a woman answered,
Starting point is 01:08:58 when they knew they were calling a man, they still said, you could just pass on and let him know that his rings ready to pick up. Oh, what are you doing? Surely if you work at a jewelers that sells diamond rings or whatever,
Starting point is 01:09:10 you'd be like, there's a bit of protocol around this. You know? Like code words. It's like when they send you adult fun toys, it's always wrapped up in some sort of distributions, you know? Yeah, yeah, brown.
Starting point is 01:09:21 Keep it private. Yeah, when you're doctor rings or something. You've got a minute for a word. I'm not going to sort of pass on the message that, yep, it is what she thinks it is. My husband was outside on one knee waiting for me to come out. I was taking care of his best mate that had a few too many beers
Starting point is 01:09:36 and was spewing. He was supposed to film the whole thing, but he was blacked out drunk by then apparently he just needed a couple of drinks to cool his nerves. He was nervous. Yeah. The videographer. Dude, you're just standing there with your phone.
Starting point is 01:09:48 It's not that hard. Oh, very funny, eh? I was the problem. planned a romantic weekend away in Sydney. I had an inclination he was going to. I called his bluff saying you won't and he ended up proposing in the hotel room. Whoopsie, my bed. Oh yeah. We can do that. I remember seeing a video. Are you just brushing over that? Yeah, we can do that.
Starting point is 01:10:06 We can do that as women. But you just love us anyway because you need us. There was a proposal I watched and it was a girl that were going up a hill and he kept trying to go down like, you know, on one knee like this and she was in kind of a badman and she turned around and got such a fright, fell into the bush backwards and farted. It's like one of my favorite videos Because she's like Full fart
Starting point is 01:10:24 Yeah A fall, a fart and attitude Yeah My partner drove to a place And said let's go for a walk I said I don't feel great And he kept trying And I wouldn't get out
Starting point is 01:10:33 And we had a big argument And he threw the ring at me 20 years later Still married You hear some of those stories They were it's a hike to somewhere nice Oh God, can't bother I'm hot
Starting point is 01:10:43 Yeah always bitching boating Yeah come on come on Just keep going It's nice up here My partner and I went Ring shopping together After he drunkenly proposed with no ring.
Starting point is 01:10:51 Oh yeah. And so I said, well, we need to sort this out. So we went in a shock one. And then he was about to propose again and his dog dropped its guts. One of those real stinky, dog-dying dog farts.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Yeah. That absolutely ruined the mood. My best friend's boyfriend proposed to her while we were in Fiji as we were drinking champagne and celebrating told her he wasn't going to do it because she was being a bit of a bitch. That ruined the proposal.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Made it very awkward for the rest of the crew. But we just need to shut our mouths as human bands. He planned a snow trip And he was going to propose on the snow trip But then he proceeded to injure himself snowboarding Oh, okay Yeah, so I spend some time in a medical building And he proposed once he got let out of there
Starting point is 01:11:33 But he was limping and stuff and it wasn't sexy Amazing My husband attempted to try and propose Out on the bridge on the way over To the giant sky swing down in Queenstown Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah You could walk out to it Yeah
Starting point is 01:11:44 Want to do it in the middle of the bridge He turned around and looked at me And I yelled, just keep bloody walking, keep walking, not panicking. Yeah, that's a scary walk out to that station. So then instead he had to propose while we were on the swing in the canyon.
Starting point is 01:12:00 Oh, yeah, okay. So they're swinging in the thing, and just like, and then he pulls it out of the pocket, and he was like, I told him to do it on the bridge. You're not supposed to put anything in your pockets when you go on that case it falls out. They're not responsible for that. It's down the bottom of the gully.
Starting point is 01:12:10 They're not going to get that. My husband proposed on the beach and his pants ripped. That's good. He got down. That's good. I heard the rip before I. heard will you marry me wasn't ruined we're still married after 10 years
Starting point is 01:12:22 that's a classic that's a great story yeah good yarn oh my god someone literally said they're the husband that was to propose the soon to be husband was going to propose to the soon to be wife his sister was going to take photos of the whole thing like sneaky take photos of everything we saw her when we were walking
Starting point is 01:12:39 in and I was like what are you doing here and she's like I'm here to take photos of when he proposes oh my god you stupid bitch you dumb bitch He's going to propose. Pretend you didn't see me. I'm going to take some secret photos
Starting point is 01:12:53 when he proposes to you. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZN's Flesh, Born and Haley. Polyester is the new Gen Z slang. Polyester? Yeah. Okay, what does it mean? Hang on.
Starting point is 01:13:08 You'll keep and catch on fire if you're too close to the heater. Or a poly, meaning like, you have multiple partners. You're everything in it. It's literally. Fake. It means cheap. overly manufactured or inauthentic.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Because I'm polyester would be to be calling them fake or... Oh, you're so polyester. So polyester. There's polyester edits. Which are those like jump around clips containing like music and like effects and like transitional bits?
Starting point is 01:13:35 I actually really like watching those. Is that a polyester edit? It's a polyester edit. I was thinking about dropping some content today actually. I'll need to give that a quick look to make sure it's not polyester. It's been used as a an insult. So if you're called Polyester, just be aware you are being insulted.
Starting point is 01:13:52 Yeah, okay. How do the Polynesians feel about this? Because Polly's kind of been their thing. Well, especially if the Polynesian's name is Esther. What about our Polynesian Esther's listening? There's going to be gullish. There's got to be at least one. Have you heard this in your household? No, I haven't
Starting point is 01:14:09 yet. Gen Alpha. It hasn't reached Gen Alpha. What do they call you? Cool old man. No, Unk. Yeah, I got Unk a bit and I was like, That's kind of cool. But no, apparently,
Starting point is 01:14:20 unks not cool. No. That's an insult. Yeah. I don't care because I'm an adult and I have money and, you know,
Starting point is 01:14:30 I can buy alcohol and I can drive a car and I can make decisions on my own. Okay. That's polyester or unc. Sounds cool, unc. Sounds like you're just jealous. My boobs are saggy.
Starting point is 01:14:43 My face is falling off. And I've got anxiety. I grab a world without peptides, making everything easier. Yeah, I'm trying to lose weight, sort of like the old-fashioned way. It's real boring. The ZM Podcast Network.
Starting point is 01:14:55 Is this a show real? Play ZM's Flesh, One and Haley. I want to know how long did it take to find the one. You know, you've got to suck a few lemons before you can have a cheesecake. I don't know if that's the saying. You know what I mean? Yeah, man, I know what you mean. You've got to peel a few.
Starting point is 01:15:11 You've got to kiss a few frogs before you get a cheesecake. That's right. It's all cheesecake. You've got to peel a few cucumbers. is before you... You're going to break a few eggs before you get a cheesecake. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:22 Man, you're going to climb a few mountains, you're going to travel a few countries before you get yourself a cheesecake. You know what they say about all roads leading to Rome and cheesecake? Yeah. Roman cheesecake, second to none. That's where the saying comes from.
Starting point is 01:15:34 So there's a man he's a New York software exec. Now, there's some things to know about Joseph. Okay. 38 years old. Yeah. Very high earner. Okay.
Starting point is 01:15:44 Great news for Joseph. So far, I'm... I'm hooked. He is from a well-respected family. He is attractive. Yep. He has a... Man, if you're going to tell someone they're attractive,
Starting point is 01:16:04 you've really got to... Sell it. Sell it more than he's... He's handsome. He's handsome. He's a bit of graph. He's 5'6. And has a heavy work schedule
Starting point is 01:16:15 and finishes work kind of logs off about 3 a.m. What? Oh, God. You're never really... You're not meaning... When does he... When is he not working?
Starting point is 01:16:22 And you're not allowed to sleep with people from work. He's not meeting anyone. No. He said he has struggled his whole life to find people to love. He does think that the work schedule in his height at 5 foot 6 are two things that work against him. Yeah. Or you can do something about one of those things. Yeah, leg extension.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Yeah, let's tell. Leg extensions. Ezer. So Joseph has actually employed a matchmaker, a high... end matchmaker. So he spends 25,000 US dollars for about 42K for a six-month membership
Starting point is 01:16:55 that guarantees him six states. That's insane. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he's done this for three different contracts over a period of time, which is to the tune of over 100 grand with a professional matchmaker who's going in to be like, I'm going to find you someone who
Starting point is 01:17:12 doesn't mind that you're short and doesn't mind that you have this crazy schedule and likes these things. I mean, this all ready to send in like the perfect part that you never see them. I know because they're so short. And they're rich. You're right down there. Geez, you'll trip over you like the bloody cat.
Starting point is 01:17:28 Oh, Jesus Christ, here you are. Like the bloody cat down there. So he said after this, $100,000, three different contracts. Forty first dates hasn't met him. Wow. Okay. Taking his time, this is over a nine-year period. He's just like...
Starting point is 01:17:42 I mean, he does sound like he's sucking the joy out of dating and finding life. Nine-year period, he's only had 40 dates. Yeah. That's like four a year. About four a year. Yeah. Yeah, well, that's... How busy is this guy?
Starting point is 01:17:56 He's so busy. And he's cut 40 dates. He said, I've gone on 41st dates with using the slight match. I reckon, after that, you've got to kind of realize maybe you're the problem. Well, yeah, a little bit. He keeps giving you a fright. So, I want to know, though, we stand a short game. I want to know how long did it take you to find the one?
Starting point is 01:18:16 So you've found them. but it's like, man, you had to go through some duds first. It was tough. How bad was it, you know? Because you've got to, man, you've got to mash a few bananas before you get a cheesecake. As the saying goes, yeah. As the old adage goes. You've got to pedal your bike if you want the cheesecake.
Starting point is 01:18:31 That's the old saying. Maybe you've got a story. It took you a while. Maybe you'd given up and then someone just came into your life. That's right. Yeah, you were just going, date, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay, you were about to be a lesbian. And then here he was, your night and shining up.
Starting point is 01:18:47 Okay, 0,800 a dollar's at him. You've got to mince a few lesbians before you get a cheesecake. Yeah. As the saying goes, yeah. The mouse won't grow on a rolling cheesecake. We want to know how long did it take you to find the one? Because there's a guy who's paid lots of money and he's gone on 40 first dates. Fifty first dates.
Starting point is 01:19:03 It was a movie. Forty first dates still isn't found the one. Works a terrible schedule. Yeah, it doesn't finish work till 3 a.m. You're not going to find anyone that wants to go for dinner then. Yeah. Unless they also work those hours. Holly joins us.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Holly, how long did it take you to find the one? Well, I found the one when I was 30, and I've been dating a lot. I came back from London back in 2016, I think, and then I started this new job, and it was kind of to kind of bond with everyone. I decided to start going on, like, all these dates and telling everyone.
Starting point is 01:19:38 How fun, I. Oh, so you had somebody to talk to people at work about. You'd go on dates and be like, another date for me last time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cool. Absolutely. And like what we did is we started calling it the Holly Diaries. Great, right, great.
Starting point is 01:19:51 It's giving main character energy. It's giving rom-com, isn't it? And how were these dates with the lovely Kiwi lads? Mostly terrible. Haley has managed to do an entire comedy show touring the country about this. Sprow on the prowl. Weird, hey Holly. Like, what are you even up to and who taught you to exist in this manner?
Starting point is 01:20:11 Oh, I know. I don't know how people like live in the society. One of my agency, I came on Tinder flight near like a few years ago and talked to you guys about how I took one to Fiji like on a whim and it turned out like horrendous. You don't take someone you've just met on Tinder to Fiji and get stuck on an island with them. What was the worst do you reckon?
Starting point is 01:20:37 Probably that one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've been on a couple of dates and my friend couldn't go to Fiji so he was like, oh, I was at Flight Center. I'll do it. I'll just pay her back. And I was like, okay, no one else could come. And then, honestly, it was just horrendous after horrendous. Like, it was just so much every single time I went on a date.
Starting point is 01:20:59 I decided, like, you know, I figured out what I liked and what I didn't like. Yes. But I wouldn't. Yes. I'm the person I am today. And the person that I found is all the, you know, has ticks all the boxes. Yeah, we love. So what I'm hearing there, Holly, is these terrible.
Starting point is 01:21:15 Marable New Zealand men's systematically lowered your expectations so that someone could swoop in with just the basics. Well done, men. The bare minimum. We'll touch what we can get. Yes. This one's perfect. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:34 We love that. So it all worked out well. Holly, that's amazing. Thank you for sharing. Got to suck a few lemons. Yeah. Before you get a cheesecake. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Thank you, Holly. Some messages. Somebody said, my dream man six weeks after leaving my husband who was right under my nose the whole time and been my daughter's sports coach for years. Oh, okay. Hello.
Starting point is 01:21:54 That'll get the... Sometimes it'll get the old gossip lips flap. Yeah, yeah. Oh, school mums love a gossip, don't they? No one gossips more than the school mums. Yeah. But I think it just takes new lenses, right? You go there and you're like, hello.
Starting point is 01:22:08 I want that cheesecake. That's the kind of cheesecake. I've been having a sweet sort of caramel and I'm more fruit-based. Yeah. Well, Ben said I had to rubble through some gravel to get my gold. I assume he's forgotten to put cheesecake into that. Had to dig through a bit of rubble to get his gold.
Starting point is 01:22:23 Yeah. Had to rubble through some gravel to find my cheesecake. There you go. I think that's what he meant. Correct saying there. Ten years. I had a daughter at 18 and had been trying to find the right one since. Nearly gave up.
Starting point is 01:22:35 I found my soulmate in an online video game of all places. Together for two years is moving to New Zealand to be together in person forever next year. Now we've just been hit with a when you name You name you know When you know you know When you know you know At 21 I met my soulmate Although we didn't get together until five years later
Starting point is 01:22:55 We were just always the same Kind of weird, spent over a decade together Then took two years apart Huh? Did it did 10 Yeah So 21 met at 21 Five years later got together
Starting point is 01:23:06 Did 10 years together Then took two years off Stayed close And we've just gotten back back together because still we are undoubtedly each other's perfect weirdo. It's an imperfect journey, but when you know you know you're cheesecake. When you know you've got a cheesecake, you get the cheesecake. When you know, you know your cheesecake.
Starting point is 01:23:26 Ten years I've been waiting. I had a daughter, did you read this? Ten years I've been waiting? Yes, yes, yes, yes. I had a daughter, daughter, yeah. I mean, I suppose it's hard, isn't it? Makes it harder. Someone said 64 years and still waiting.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Sorry. Words of encouragement. It's only just begun. I honestly reckon if you've been by yourself for 64 years, having a partner would be awful. Oh God, I couldn't imagine anything worse. My mum's asked, what did this flet want to be with someone? I'm like, no, don't reckon he does.
Starting point is 01:23:58 Oh, my people ask me this all the time. Isn't he lonely? I was like, not ever. No. There was someone in my house yesterday. I was like, we're going home. Yeah, bye. Really. What time are we talking? Like five o'clock.
Starting point is 01:24:10 In the afternoon. I know. Oh my God. Acceptable. Unacceptable. Get out by at least 11. Are you not aware of a sleep bedtime? It's five o'clock on a Sunday afternoon.
Starting point is 01:24:22 For us, feels like 9.30 on Sunday night. Oh, I know. What are they doing hanging on? I know. I must have wanted some more of that cheesecake. Play Z-Ems, Flesh, Foran and Haley. Now, um, I got jealous and I was in farmers yesterday. How every great story starts.
Starting point is 01:24:41 It was something I was trying to be happy. for Vaughan and I think I did a good job of it that's so cool that you got there and then I was in farmers yesterday and I was like okay so long-winded story Fletch you've long had a kitchen aid and we've roasted you a little bit because you don't use it he only ever makes it to use it to make cookies
Starting point is 01:25:04 now cookies don't need Excuse me I've made cakes You can literally have a beta or a Yeah yeah yeah and he's got this thing proudly displayed on his bench like he's bloody Alison Holst. And then every now and then he'll be like, I've got a kitchen aide.
Starting point is 01:25:19 I've got a kitchen aide. I've got a kitchen aid. And it does look great on the bench. It's actually a statement piece. It is a statement piece. It's a decorative dust collector in Fletcher's kitchen. For years you've had this too. You had some attachments for it once upon a time?
Starting point is 01:25:35 You've got attachments for it? You've had it the whole time I've known you. Yeah, I've had it a year. And they are a little bit more expensivey, but God, they're brave. It's not a paid endorsement. No. You're about to hear three adults who paid full price. Literal full price.
Starting point is 01:25:51 So because then last week, Vourney, you, I think, in a bid to, I'll say, impress your girlfriend. Procured your own kitchen aid. She recently learned Fletch had a kitchen aide and she brought it up time and time again. Why does he need a kitchen aid? Well, they've run out of those make biscuits. No, we don't know. She's like, her mom's got a kitchen aide and they're always making like these fancy cakes. and all these things
Starting point is 01:26:14 and something that needs to be stirred for however God knows how long and whipping a cream to a medium peak I didn't know cream could be whipped to a medium peak it can be apparently marangs these sorts of things Fletch makes biscuit Yeah and I know cakes as well thank you
Starting point is 01:26:28 There was mocking Yeah and then It was jealousy It was outright jealousy And his jealousy And then my daughter August found out That you have a kitchen aid And she was just like
Starting point is 01:26:39 What is even Amy's like he only makes biscuits And so those two were upset. Yeah. But Fletcher at a kitchen aide. And then it just went, you know, had the algorithm knows.
Starting point is 01:26:49 Well, I did send Vaughn the occasional video of me making cookies so that he could show. Every two years. So that he could show them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was just like rub it in their face. So I got a butter yellow, which was the 2025
Starting point is 01:27:01 color of the year. Yeah, yeah. Because they come in different colors. Yeah, yeah, that's right. And then you got to live to work and you're like, yeah, man, you know. This is great. I've got a video of them unopening it. Yeah, yeah, lovely.
Starting point is 01:27:12 God, we've used. that he's who made ice cream. Yeah. I've made heaps of stuff on it. You've used it more than me in a whole weekend. Yeah, exactly. That was talked about over the weekend. I know.
Starting point is 01:27:21 We're now, I think it was around the fourth thing. We've now used it for a more variety of things. Fletch's cakes and biscuits. I'm just happy to be mocked, just for living life, you know. Just don't worry about it. On the weekend, I popped into farmers as I want to do. And I don't know to find myself in the appliance.
Starting point is 01:27:38 In the appliances. And there's the kitchen aid that's like green with a wooden bowl. Because when I ordered mine, that was the big thing. I said, I would have loved the dark green one with the wooden bowl, but it was a bit more expensive. And then I had what I was willing to spend. It's an elite product of the KitchenAid Lime. And Haley's like, I should get that.
Starting point is 01:27:54 It'd go great with my kitchen. Or my kitchen's got a wood bench top, wooden floors, and the green walls. And I not want to be out done. Got myself a KitchenAid, didn't I? So you literally kept up with the Joneses. I'm literally with the Joneses. The three of us now, three kitchen aids, I reckon, as we do with the Slushie members,
Starting point is 01:28:12 Shane. We could have absolutely just sort of joint custody this thing. They are so heavy. They are heavy. The slashing machine is also psychotically heavy. Who's got that at the moment? You? May, we actually used it on the weekend. It's well loved. Can I just say one thing that I have that Vaughn doesn't have? I've got the meat processor attachment.
Starting point is 01:28:28 I can make patties, I can make onions, I can make sausages. You can get a mincer. You can get a sausage maker. And it pushes the little cone thing you can put sausage skins on. I can make my own sausages. Sorry, does your butter yellow kitchener? It does not have the sausage. Wait, guys, stop this. Where's this going to end, Haley?
Starting point is 01:28:45 Where's this going to end? Because I don't want the pasta machete. I want any pasta. I don't like pasta that much. I've already added it to the cart. Wow. But there were asking us, I could do that one. What if we, again, non-spon, three adults spent full price on this.
Starting point is 01:29:01 What if we got a small stand in studio and together we unite our attachments? I'm not only making sausages every week. You can, you can, I'll let you borrow my meat processor sausage. Well, do you know, what I worked out yesterday, how much is the sausage attached? How much is the mints are attached? I think it was 200 for the full kit that does mints and everything. So chicken mints is $20 a cage. Oh, this was the riveting video that I received yesterday.
Starting point is 01:29:31 I know, I was like, isn't, the group cat's going, ding, ding, ding, ding. This wasn't even girl math. It was nothing exciting. It was like, did you know? Did you know? Chicken mince is $20 a KG. If you get chicken breast, I'm special, it's just over $10 a KG.
Starting point is 01:29:45 You're paying $10 a KG for someone to mince it. Do that 20 times. You've paid off the mincing attachment. The thing is, Vaughn, you don't have a mincer. Thing is, little Vaughn, you don't have a mincer. Don't have a mincer. Mama's got the mincer. I counted 79 all rights today.
Starting point is 01:30:00 Fletcher, but that's a new personal record. Oh, fuck off. How many of those did you count? 79 of those, too. All right. Well, if you enjoyed today's podcast, give us a rate and review. Oh, fuck off. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
