Starting point is 00:00:00 from the ZDM Podcast Network. This is... Fleshwoman in Haley's Big Pod. Thanks to animates, making happy happen for pets. Haley, uh, away again today. Her flight back from Sydney, very late. I was late.
Starting point is 00:00:14 You know, I'm a bit of a hero. I said you can have a work from home. I said to her, look, Hon, take a day. This is ridiculous. Right. You know? She's the kind of guy.
Starting point is 00:00:25 You're the hero. I don't want to go on about it, but hell of a nice guy. That's what people are. saying. I've just did it a quick Google actually. D-D-D-D-D involves with a hell of a nice guy. Hell of a nice guy. A hero. I mean, it is... A hell of a nice guy. Hero of the people work.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Big fan of work from home. It is her annual leave she's using. No, I've got... You're giving her one of yours. I've wrangled a sick day. Have you? Okay. I've wrangled her the ability to use one of her own personal sick days. Again, hero.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Yeah. Hero in the workplace. Why save your sick days for when you're sick? Just take them when you just need some time out, you know? Friday morning. This is fantastic. Is it? I'm hanging out for the weekend. God.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Are you awake? So I woke up this morning, and the minute I woke up was like, am I awake? And I still have this weird feeling that I'm half asleep. I've eaten earlier than I normally do it. I'm going to have a second coffee in a second. But even talking to you now feels like a dream. Really? Have I been poisoned?
Starting point is 00:01:20 I just said to my mate, I was like, well, I feel weird. He's like, you might have been poisoned. I was like, who would poison this? Hell of an ice guy? Hell of an ice guy. Have you got a gas leak or something at home? Dude, I wonder Dude
Starting point is 00:01:32 Well, Vaughn is half here Dude, I'm half here I'm here in spirit Not in mind And you've got the top six for us I do have one of those coming up for you KFC's got a breakfast menu guys So I have the top six things
Starting point is 00:01:46 On the KFC breakfast menu Is this in New Zealand or Australia I think it's pened Penciled Penciled for NZ Surprising this hasn't happened sooner Dude It's always I've said dude
Starting point is 00:01:58 5,000 times on the show. It's because I've been poison. It's because you've been poison. It is surprising. Well, let's see how this morning goes. The ZM Podcast Network play Z&S, Flesh, Forn and Haley. Would you say an extreme athlete?
Starting point is 00:02:13 A dare devil? A dare devil has a jump from the Auckland skyscraper ghost tower. The seascape. If you're not familiar, there's this half built. Was it going to be the tallest? It was going to be the tallest.
Starting point is 00:02:26 It was going to be the tallest. It was going to be the tallest residential building in New Zealand, right? Yeah, or just the tallest building under the sky towel? Yeah. It's massive, and it's kind of stalled. Yes, like, there are windows like two-thirds of the way up, and then they're like, oh, we want out of money. Yeah, and I think there's...
Starting point is 00:02:41 We want out of money. At the moment, trying to sell it, because this is down the road from, like... Yeah, you live in it every day, right? In the city, yeah, and you can see it all over town. Sometimes you can look right through the skeleton structure at the top. It's got some flappy bits. It's got some flappy bits. And since...
Starting point is 00:02:57 Since work stopped on it, it's kind of boarded up. There is security because there were bits falling. Do you remember there was a story a few months ago bits were falling off? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or people were alleging neighbors were like, there are bits falling off. And they've had security full-time looking for bits falling off. So at some stage, this...
Starting point is 00:03:15 What good is that going to do if it clobbers somebody? I don't know. Oh, here's one of the bits that falls off and paled through someone's head. I think they just picked them up before anyone notices. Yeah, right. At some stage, this man, and the caption of... on the video's French, this base jumper gets into this
Starting point is 00:03:30 skyscraper. I'd say trespasses. Near the top. Gets past the security. Near the top. Not quite at the top, but near the top, jumps, base jumps onto the street below lands... Key Street?
Starting point is 00:03:47 Lans Beach Road, Anzacav kind of area. And hasn't said when this happened, but judging by the video... Not having around... Sunrise, because I've seen another angle now and when he jumps off the sun's over east so it's really early in the morning. It's giving big Saturday or Sunday morning
Starting point is 00:04:02 to be honest. She's pretty quiet. It must be like 6 or 7 a.m. There's a couple of overs and stuff. You just boom us and a bus driver and it must just be like what off. He just lands on the road with his parachute and then he's off and there's two angles. His friends are filming
Starting point is 00:04:17 it from below and then you see him land on the street and then it cuts to him jumping off with a GoPro on his helmet and nuts. In sanity Like you see this stuff overseas all the time But in Auckland City But yeah apparently
Starting point is 00:04:31 I reckon he's left the country This is what Like I'm looking at his Excuse me I'm looking at his social media As Instagram He might be bigger on TikTok But I don't put my toe in that pool
Starting point is 00:04:43 But he's He goes around the world There's a video of him up This massive tower I don't know I would have put a radio tower back in the day And he's doing that thing Where he's hanging on by one hand
Starting point is 00:04:55 Just like dangling by one hand No parachute does a couple of pull-ups and then gets back up. No, that's not cool. And then he's getting a trespass ticket at the bottom of that. He's been around the world. Where's this one? Everybody dies, but not everybody lives. Oh, that's one of his captions.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Wow. Okay. He jumps off these insane things, hangs from hikes, trespasses, gets into these places and jumps off. And in this one here, he's jumping off a massive crane. He's in Bali. again, somewhere he shouldn't be, and he's jumping off a crane. And it's only got 260 likes. Now, I'm more...
Starting point is 00:05:35 260 likes. Also, don't do anything in Bali. Like, do you want to end up in prison in Bali? It's not temple-based, but he's jumping off this massive crane. Right. I'm not sure even what the cranes are. 200 likes. Yeah, he's only got 200 likes.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Nearly kill yourself. Well, cross down to the social media desk. If we were to risk our lives, Would we be expecting more than 260 likes? Yeah, it's all about the ratios, man, and that's rough. That's rough. I'm looking here. Another one, he climbed up,
Starting point is 00:06:06 he climbed up some massive old dome stadium and ran and jumped off the side of that. And that's only got 600 likes. Like, we are in a likes for a session. Like, there's a new fad going around where people just don't like posts anymore. Like, it's more about the views. But also, like, I've risked my life. Huck me a like.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 600, you can't even like you like me. I nearly died. I jumped up a crane. Come on, I could have gone. Yeah, exactly. So why is there a likes recession?
Starting point is 00:06:35 People just are scrolling and not liking anymore. I don't know what it is. I don't know why. Like, no one can see your likes anymore like in the old day. So I don't know why we're not liking. I do think it's bold when Instagram's algorithm throws me a steaming hot Latino. Yeah. And I can see people I know have liked it.
Starting point is 00:06:52 I'm like, okay. This is bold, man. I wonder if it's because, you know, how sometimes it, comes up with a little circle at the bottom of your friend's face as being like, Vaughn's liked this. Maybe people don't want that. Vaughn treads very lightly then. Yeah, I mean, there's definitely a huge difference on my personal social media
Starting point is 00:07:08 about how much my body is showing in the photo versus how many likes I can get. Right. So you're saying this guy chucking himself off half completed sky scrapers would get more views if he had tits. Yeah. Go on, love. So you're saying the like rescission, it's like when there's an economic. Recession.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Yeah. Yes. Booes and gambling still goes hard. So on a light recession, tits. Boobes. Boobes and gambling still goes hard. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fleshhorn and Haley.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Apparently this is the Amazing Race music. Yeah, I've actually never seen an episode. I can't get into Amazing Race or Survivor. I never, I've got friends that love these shows. I think I've watched some of the Amazing Race, but never been like, I'm going to watch this season. I've just seen bits and pieces. Oh, and you know the My favorite part of the Amazing Race is the woman
Starting point is 00:08:01 who tried to catapot the watermelon and she pulls it back and it goes out and then it smashes her straight in the face. That was Amazing Race, eh? I think so. Or Survivor, one of those shows. No, it wasn't Survivor. And you know the gist of Amazing Race?
Starting point is 00:08:14 There are envelopes. You've got to get to checkpoints. Yeah, they've got to race the next place. Yeah. It's a well-known cultural touchpoint. It is. And it's in New Zealand. Because, of course, Phil Kogan
Starting point is 00:08:24 is a New Zealander. And he's got that hybrid, New Zealand American accent. Such a mongrel. Such a mongrel accent. Where's he from? Oh, there it is. Lincoln! He's he. He was warned in Lincoln just out of
Starting point is 00:08:38 Christchurch. So Christchurch is like his home city. Right. And he's currently there filming the amazing race. Is this the first time he's been back? Because he's based in America now. He's been living there for years. This is the first time since the earthquakes he's been back?
Starting point is 00:08:54 So I don't recognize any of this? I don't know. I think, no. No, no. I think, no. he will have been Has the amazing race has definitely been to New Zealand before, right? I think so, yeah. Yeah. So I don't know what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I don't know what they're doing in Christchurch. I'm just on his Wikipedia pages it says shortly after the earthquake, he visited his hometown. He did, okay. Yeah, and he recorded segments for the early show,
Starting point is 00:09:21 which is an American talk show, I think, and to donate to the Red Cross to help out. So, Amazing Race. US has been to New Zealand. It's been to Auckland and Queensland in both Season 2 in 2002. Season 13 and 2008.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Season 20, it went to Auckland and Queensland again, 2012. And then season 22 and 2013, went to Auckland and the Canterbury Require River area. So it either mixes up Queensland and Christchurch. But it's never been to like,
Starting point is 00:09:53 Routa Turo, it's ever been to like... Oh, that's a shame. Anywhere else. It's never been to the North Island. They're one of those big sweeping vistas. Yeah. Of the South Island offers so beautifully. Yeah, they do.
Starting point is 00:10:04 But so Auckland and then parts of the South Island, but never other parts of the North Island. Interesting. Now, this theme songs, I've looped it a hundred times. I just feel like I'm constantly going back. Because I'm off the Christensen family YouTube playing as well. Oh, God. So we could get an ad at any moment.
Starting point is 00:10:18 We could get an ad mid the Amazing Race theme tune. I'm not exactly sure. Well, so filming right now, if you're in Christchurch or the Canterbury Revenue. You're telling me. You may see the film crew. around filming as contestants race around. Yeah, he's a cyclist. He's an avid cyclist.
Starting point is 00:10:35 An avid cyclist. Well, Canterbury, the best place to do that because it's flat. He went from, he cycled from L.A. to New York. Why did he do that? Archer raise money for MS. He's a good boy. He's a very good boy. He loves a tour de France, apparently.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Right. Loves watching. I don't think he's part talk. No. Interesting lad. Very interesting man. and currently in Cross Church Film in The Amazing Race Season 5,000. Play ZM's Flash for him and Haley.
Starting point is 00:11:03 We're joined in studio by Black Cap. Locky Ferguson, hello. Good morning, how are we? Good, thank you. Now, we're not quite back at cricket season on home soil, are we? Bust be close. Soon. A few weeks away.
Starting point is 00:11:14 Yeah. 22nd of November, I think. India are in town, aren't they? October, yeah, yeah, yeah, man, big series. Wow, okay, so, but you're not here to talk about the upcoming series against India. We can talk a little bit about it, but we're here mostly to talk about the NZC Youth Bowling Fast Challenge. Fastballing challenge.
Starting point is 00:11:29 I wish this was around when I was a youth because I was a bowler. Medium pace for me at Morrisville Intermediate with the occasional spin. On the astro turf. On the astro turf, concrete astro turf. Yeah. God, playing on a concrete astro turf
Starting point is 00:11:42 was scary. As a kid, I remember that. You're like, shit, too fast. Well, all the guys at fast bowled at school and then continued playing some form of cricket all are having shoulder surgery now, so you've got that to look forward. Hopefully not.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Perfect timing for school holidays. Who this starts today? You can enter. If you're listening, maybe you've got a youth that is a, that plays cricket, a boy or a girl. Yep, so under 19. Back in 2008, it was the last time they had it. It was, I was at school then. We had the final we've got flown down to Wellington during the,
Starting point is 00:12:17 England versus New Zealand test. And during the lunch break, we went out on the field and got to bowl in front of full crowd with the speeds coming up on the big screen, which was epic. Wow, that's cool. Did you win? It came second. Yeah, Jimmy Niche pit me. Did it?
Starting point is 00:12:31 Yeah, I know. Oh, you haven't lived till you've been pipped by the niche. There's a few men out there right now in their own reflective moment, remember, being pipped by the niche in one form or another. Yeah. But, like, the experience was unreal as a school kid, you know, flying down there. So, you're bringing it back. What's your fastest on record, your fastest ball?
Starting point is 00:12:50 157.3, yeah. Jesus. Yeah, yeah. Imagine that when you're in your car going that fast? I was just about to say, I don't think I've ever been that fast in a car. That's... It's absolutely rocketing. I'm not going to race cars.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Oh, yeah, okay. I've been a race car. Hayden Pat took me in a rally car. I was crying, so I don't know how fast we're going. You couldn't set the speedo through the tears. The odometer. Crying for my life. Okay, and so tell us about this app then.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Yeah, so the app I designed it. It's load management for fast bowlers. We're trying to mitigate against those injuries you were talking about earlier. but of course as a fast bowler you want to see how fast you bowl. So we've also built out a speed radar within the app. You just measure yourself side on with your phone on a tripod and it'll give you a speed that day. And then, yeah, if you're in the top six,
Starting point is 00:13:38 you'll get to go down to the final. For the men, it's during the India test. And for the women, it's during the first ODI against Bangladesh. So that's really efficient. So how did they measure like when you entered, when you were a school kid, it's all on an app now. But yeah, the radar. Well, they carton around the radar.
Starting point is 00:13:52 to all schools. Yeah, they came around to the schools. Did they? Exactly, yeah, and just radar, like, they just said anyone here, bowl cricket training. And then I honestly, at the time at school, I didn't think I'd be anywhere near the top. I was a year younger than niche too.
Starting point is 00:14:04 And then, yeah, we got an email, pretty awesome email to get back in the day. And then got flown down. So first time getting flown anywhere for cricket. Wow, and now I bet you're sick of getting flown everywhere for cricket. Nah, it's still awesome. That's a great job. Still living the dream.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Yeah. Amazing. Well, if you want to enter, NZC.NZ to sign up, to be in to win. Yep. And you could be the... Down there. Future Black Cab.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah, you could get pet by the niche. Yeah. Thanks so much for coming on. Awesome, guys. Thanks for having me on. The ZN Podcast Network. Play ZDN's Fleshhorn and Haley. From your local community Facebook page, this is the top six.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Well, after a trial at Sydney Airport, KFC Australia, What do they call KFC? Because we got Maccas from... Yeah, Australians called it Macias. And we kind of always did it as well. KFC's just KFC. KFC. Does KFC have a nickname?
Starting point is 00:15:06 No, it doesn't because it's just an... It's already an acronym for Kentucky fried chicken. Yeah. Maybe we used to say Kentucky Fried chicken. K-fry. Or you say K-fry. Maybe there's K-Fri. But that makes me feel like I'm getting Korean fried chicken.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Also a trial in an airport. doesn't count because airports are famously, rules don't apply. I'll have a beer at 7 o'clock in the morning. Exactly, because you're on holiday or you're going somewhere, you're like, I can drink now. Of course. And nobody judges you at an airport drinking a beer at 7 a.m. Airport's a DMZ. Yeah, or having KFC at 7 a.m.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Bingo. So full morning meals at 29 locations, things such as bacon and egg rolls, BLTs with avocado, chicken bacon and egg rolls, chicken toasties, baking breakfast wraps with chicken. They're going to be chicken, but you can also do the chicken? I'm assuming, like you can at Mac because you can also get everything else. Some things? I don't know. Okay. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Also, side note, why is Ronald McDonald's 50th birthday celebrations? I don't think he is, is he? I've not seen him. I've seen Hamburgerer. I've seen Grimmis is fronting it. If anybody's the front person for the McDonald's 50th birthday celebrations is our boy Grimmie. Yeah, right. I've seen Birdie, Hamburgler and Grimmis.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Ronald completely absent. Maybe he's going through something right now. He's getting a treatment. He's going through chemo or something. And he doesn't will tell us. It'll make us sad. Also, Grimmis is way more marketable. Dude, Grimis is a big sexy boy.
Starting point is 00:16:39 In a world full of peptides making people skinny. Grimis is like, yeah, I'm a chunky boy. Get on. If Grimis gets on the gulp ones, I'm going to be, oh, boycott mackers. I was so livid. I don't want to see a skinny grimmis. I don't want to see a skinny grimace. I want a fat, big, fat, purple grimace.
Starting point is 00:16:56 Give me that big fat boy. So I've got the top six back to KFC. By the way, everybody's filming about fast food now. Even I who don't eat could do. Top six things on the KFC breakfast menu that I want to see if it makes it to New Zealand. Okay. Number six on the list, eggs, bennie, potato and gravy. Yum.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Why wouldn't that work? It would work. Potato, mashed potato. Yum. Egg on top. Gravy on top. Yeah, that's a winner. That's eggs, bennie mash.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Eggs bennie potato and gravy. Number five on the list of the top six things on the KFC breakfast menu that I'd like to see. Chaken. Chaken. Do you know what chaken is? No. It's chicken bacon. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:35 It's chaken. Okay. Great. Finley sliced chicken breast. Seared really quickly. Okay. Great for breakfast. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Yeah. Number four on the list of the top six things on the KFC breakfast menu, double down French toast. Okay. Yeah, nice. So it would be the double to eat. Yum. Holy shit. Okay, that would slack.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Double down French toast. You get a double down and then you soak it in the thing and you cook it again. Yeah, yum. I want that. Dude, why? Someone hired me to just come up with wild ideas for fast food chains to try. Number three on the list of the top six things to put on the KFC breakfast menu. Cocoa Popcorn Chicken.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Yum. It's Cocoa Pops. Yeah, but it's popcorn chicken. Yum. In a bowl. And then the milk is gravy. Yum. Because Cocoa Pops turn the milk brown anyway.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Yeah, yum. Great. Good from you. Cocoa Pop more chicken. Number two on the list of the... Oh, no. Oh. What have you done?
Starting point is 00:18:31 Well, I put double down French toast in the list again. Because I felt like it was such a good idea. I feel like I wrote it at number four, thought it deserved to be in the place of number two, copied over number two, didn't replace number four. Shannon was just saying this was some of your best work until you screwed up the list.
Starting point is 00:18:50 until I absolutely screwed it up. Although you do love a chicken, a giant chicken char-grill. What have you been eating? Chicken steaks. Do you know what I had for dinner last night? Chicken steaks. Again. With the faux char-grew lines?
Starting point is 00:19:04 Yeah, and when I ate them, I was like, this is just incredible. Can't wait for dinner tonight. Again. Because Teagle's half-priced this week. Okay, yeah, again. I got two bags. You're not on Big Teagle money.
Starting point is 00:19:15 No, I would love to be that I'm open. Do you know, I've had both Facebook advertising. advertising and Wally's email all about Tegles' Chicken Tenders since this conversation. Yeah, they're on you. They're in your algorithm. Yeah, yum. Absolutely got an algorithm. Number two,
Starting point is 00:19:29 I've just come up with this on the spot. Okay. Hash brown twister. Yum, okay. It's the hash brown wrapped in a tortilla, you know, with all the sauce and stuff. But it's hash brown. And number one on the list, because we need something to drink. The number one thing, on the top six things on the KFC breakfast menu.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Number one, a gravy latte. A gravy latte? Correct. It's a latte made of gravy. No. I don't know if anyone's drinking that. Someone will. Someone hung over well.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Someone will slip up the grubber latte. It's just like a regular latte except it's gravy. Yeah. It's gravy. And the white on top's not foamed milk. It's foamed potato. I don't know if it's possible. Let's put some, let's get our world's best minds onto making that happen.
Starting point is 00:20:18 That is today's top six. Play ZM's Flatphone and Haley SELA little poll today is Would You Accept deliveries by drone? So Amazon are currently testing in Texas In some suburbs Dron deliveries from their giant warehouse Fulfillments facilities
Starting point is 00:20:53 Promising you And Amazon Prime the subscription service If you have got that and you order a certain amount You'll get what you order in 30 minutes Wow And the drone will land on your front lawn or your back garden. It's going to be a noisy bar. So the complaints have started.
Starting point is 00:21:13 So there's a noise the main complaint. Yeah, so there's a town called Richardson in Texas. It's a suburb of Dallas. And the news stories are basically like people losing their minds over the constant. People saying they, some guy saying he works from home, he can be on like conference calls and hear the drones. One guy was like, oh my God, the first drone I saw. it was cool. I was like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:21:37 and now I'm sick of the thing. Because if you live right by the fulfillment centre, they're constantly buzzing over. But I guess the allure of having something in, like less than 30 minutes, you order it and it's there.
Starting point is 00:21:53 What do we need that quickly that we can't go and get for ourselves? I know. I mean, the drone deliveries are from 8 until 9 p.m. Because I was thinking maybe like, you know, when pharmacy shun- 8.00 to 9 p.m.
Starting point is 00:22:04 9 p. I know. No, no, no, no, no. They're buzzing around. Five in the latest. But maybe you need, like, medicines late at night. Like, that could be the future. You get a drone delivery.
Starting point is 00:22:13 They're apparently rolling out to 500 cities and places across America. Oh, my God. By the end of this year. So it's happening. Would you accept deliveries by drone? 56% of people said yes. 44% said no, so pretty split on it. CAD says no.
Starting point is 00:22:30 And it's for the same reason I don't go through South Checkout. I want to keep humans employed. Oh, okay. I'll use self-checkout because my supermarket literally doesn't even have a checkout operator. I think they might have one. I also, I'll keep humans employed because I'm so bad with, like, taking things out of the bag and it'll like, beep, lock up, and I need to wave them over to get them to unlock it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I've got such a charming, trustworthy face. They don't even check. They don't even check. No, my supermarket always checks. Do they check that you're putting through gold Kiwi-Fruis green Kiwi fruit? No, they don't. Yeah, they don't. They'll definitely check if something comes up on the system.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Have a little looks at sea. Ashton said I would have voted yes if there was an option that they could buzz my hedge and give it a trim. That'll be happening. Well, they already have... I watched a mate of mine, Sean, who's an arborist, they got a drone to cut down a tree. I know. They have drones that do like firefinding and water blasting and it's insane. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:26 It was massive too. Living in the future, guys. And spraying, they spray like weeds and stuff. Yeah. And valleys that are too hard to get down to for helicopters and that. That's pretty cool. Oops, see, I've clipped out of it. Because my husband is a courier driver and drones equal no job.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Yeah, said Jessica. What do you think about even Uber driver and courier drivers for food deliveries and deliveries in the future via drone? Because they've already got the robots. Am I right? The robot drones in America, I've seen a lot of those. They'd put them in a heatproof case, but in my mind, a drone delivering food, the food's always going to be cold.
Starting point is 00:24:00 No, because it's fast through more air. Because it's an altitude. Yeah. No, they'll put it in a bag. Yeah. Ruby said, no, I love my courier man, and then does the crying ice face develop a special relationship with their courier. That means she's ordering too much stuff online. Tamara, I mean, I wouldn't decline the delivery, but it's not my preference. I'd rather have the little van chug up. Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Steph said, I wait for my driver to leave before I get my package from the front door. I don't want to talk to anyone. So, yeah, I'd accept a drone. Okay. Violet says if it's cheaper than actual freight prices, actually, that's a good point. like the career costs would go way down. Yeah. Bree said as long as it gets to me, I don't care about delivery format. Julie, no, let people have jobs because we need money to survive.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Polly says, absolutely. For Uber Eats, I doubt the drone will sit on my driveway and its car not leaving the house, not leaving the food at the door. For packages, I don't think the drone will put my card to call in the mailbox four doors down after knocking half a knock. Also, I mean, it sounds to me like you've got a rogue. Courier on your hands there, Polly. It depends how good these couriers get, too, because I just got show sponsor.
Starting point is 00:25:11 I just got 10KGs with a cat biscuits. I can't see a drone picking up 10Ks of cat biscuits. That would be a big one. That would be a big, noisy one. Hefty drone. No way it's creepy, and I feel like the government would be watching through drones. That's another thing I hadn't thought about. Like surveillance and stuff, yeah, true.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Have a hover around your home. See your boobs? They could see your boobs. They could see my boobs. I mean, the couriers have seen your boobs, though, already, haven't they? They have, yeah. I don't apologise to Chrissy. She's a lovely lady.
Starting point is 00:25:38 She's actually had to retire because she's seen my boobs so many times. Okay, yeah. She's like, I'm not getting better than that. It's time for me to retire. Silletle-L poll, would you accept deliveries by drone? 56% of you said yes. Now, as someone that does, shall we say,
Starting point is 00:25:55 air on the side of lateness. Is that a nice way of putting it? Yes, it is. We will lie to you, Vaughn, to get you to things earlier. As well you should. You know what? That's great. Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Thank you very much. So a survey of 2,000 adults has reported that exactly the minute you're 29 minutes late is when it goes from he's late to being very rude. Yep. I'd agree with that. Up to 15 is generally considered fine. 15 minutes late. Yeah. If you say you're going to be there at 5, you rock it at 5.15, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:26:35 If you rockin at 529, you've officially become rude. And 26% of people said turning up an hour late, don't bother coming completely out of line. Yeah, don't bother. If you're an hour late, don't bother. Now, we've got a 40th to go to this weekend. We do, yeah, we do. Friend of the show, Maddie MacLaine's 40th. What, two o'clock is insane.
Starting point is 00:26:56 I've got things to do. I'm thinking a soft. I'm thinking a soft three. It's an afternoon event born. A soft three out by five. No, but it's an event. It's bowls. So you've got to be there.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Are we actually bowling? Yes. It's lawn bowls. I just thought it was at that as a location. No. So I should wear something appropriate. Wait, I'm assuming we're lawn bowls. Oh, we're going to need it.
Starting point is 00:27:15 We're going to need to know. We're going to need to find out. I mean, but... Did he run this by Matt? Matt, Matt's not a... Other Matt, not Maddie. Matt, no, we're not really bowlers. Although I do get competitive on the bowl.
Starting point is 00:27:26 I bet you do. I've done bowling before and I was like, I'm not going to enjoy this. Lived it. And they curve round, don't they? Yeah, what do they call that? There's a word for that. Oh, I don't know what the word is. There's weight of more on one side and it's...
Starting point is 00:27:38 Yeah. And they curve around. It's a beautiful sport. It's a beautiful sport. I particularly enjoy how well the greens are kept. Yeah. As a grass man. This is the thing.
Starting point is 00:27:48 You know in your friend group you've got friends that are late. Yeah. And so you just lie to them. Yeah. So that's 32% of people deal with chronically late friends by telling them the event starts significantly earlier than it actually does. Yes. Saying I'm five minutes away as a go-to lie.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And 26% of people say, I use it regularly. Yeah. Especially if you turn up late and you've got a coffee. Or a shopping bag. Like that's terrible time management. Because you stop for a coffee. You stop for a coffee. But now you're late for your friends.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Yeah. Or a meeting. Coffee is my best friend. So I'm prioritizing my friends. So yeah, 29 minutes late. If you're any later than 29 minutes regularly, that's when people think you're rude. I think that's too late.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Yeah, and you've got to text your friends, right, and say, 100% I've messed up or I'm really late, I'm sorry, blah, blah, blah. But just turning up and not messaging, that's the rudest. Yeah. Yeah. Especially, um, see, if I'm saying, if people are coming over for dinner and I say, any time from six,
Starting point is 00:28:53 I wasn't planning on serving dinner until seven anyway. Yeah, I wouldn't expect dinner at six. No, hell no. The first thing you do isn't dinner. Yeah. No. Bit of cheese. But it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:04 because if it's a concert, people will always be on time, mostly. Yes. Dinner, sometimes people, you know, like there's importance on certain events. Yes. I don't know, but 29 minutes is the one. Apparently it's at 29 minutes that it's annoying. Just turn up on time. Why is it so hard?
Starting point is 00:29:24 Because I get sidetracked. I know you do. Yeah. Yesterday, I was doing some, I was getting the summer garden ready. Putting some seeds and some seedling growers. And I said to Amy and my girlfriend, I said, I'm just going to pop out and get that. And then, like, half an hour later, she came looking for me.
Starting point is 00:29:40 She was like, where have you been? I was like, I got sidequisted so many times. I just saw all these things that needed to be seen, photographed, talked to, had to chat to the pig. Yep, okay. You know, when you check the bees. Yeah. This is why you're like.
Starting point is 00:29:53 That needs diagnosing. And I said, it really doesn't. You can't catch. Life's just one big video game, right? Are you going to concentrate on the main story, or are you going to do all the side quests? The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flashhorn and Haley. A vet has come out and he is urging pet owners to stop giving their dogs basic human names such as Craig and Sarah.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Well, that's no I've given my cat at Murray. What major Murray Fluffington? Yeah. And before that, Karen. He's, yeah, Cat, Kaz. Yep. By the way, the daffodils, my two cats, I planted flowers, bulb flowers on all of their graves. My two cats.
Starting point is 00:30:35 No flowers. Caz, daffodils. Which has also buried at your house. Which I don't have a back yard. I'm out of room under that tree. So I reckon we cremate, Muz and spread him at his favourite place. Your lounge.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Your lounge. The only place he has ever been. The vets or the lounge? And we spread them all over your carpet. But why doesn't a vet want human names? He's a South African vet. He's having a bit of fun. He's got a social media following.
Starting point is 00:31:01 But he's like, stop giving them names. because, like, for example, I've had to excrete milk the anal glands of Craig. And when someone's like, Craig's in room too, ready for his anal gland expression, it's off-putting. Whereas if you were a vet and you had to excrete the anal glands of Mr. Fluffington. Yeah. Or Mr. Tudel Pipp. Puts a little bit. It just kind of makes it, I guess, a little bit easier because it's a funnier name or it's an animal's name.
Starting point is 00:31:30 He said he expressed Jared's anal glands earlier in the week. And he's like, Jared doesn't work for a pet. Oscar does. Harvey does. Archie does. Also good human names. So they're awesome. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:31:43 But Craig, Jared, he said he's got a dog called Jason on his books. Yeah, right. Patricia, he said, there's an elderly dog called Patricia that comes in. Yeah, okay. I kind of get his point. Yeah. Because it would make it a little easier if it had a sillier name. A sillier name makes it easier to do.
Starting point is 00:32:00 It's a gross job. Yeah. But he wants you to know. And that's nice because usually the vets just are constantly telling her your animal's fat. Yeah, they are. And it's hard for Patricia to hear that someone thinks she's fat. They're just cuter and they're fatter. That's just life.
Starting point is 00:32:15 A little chunky, chompy. So this is what we want to know this morning. 0,800 dials at M you can call us. Text through 9696. Yeah. What is the thing that you want people to know from your industry? Yeah. Like something like this.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Yep. We've got some already rolling in 96-96. A couple to get it going. As a truck driver, that average is over 700 kilometers a day, don't ask me how the traffic was, because it's always shit. If I have to go through a city, it's not going to be great.
Starting point is 00:32:42 No, it's never good. Your spine's not out of alignment, and needs to be clicked back into place. Sincerely yours, every single physiotherapist that constantly hears, someone come in and say, my spine's out of a place, it needs to be cracked back in. That's not the case at all.
Starting point is 00:32:57 That's not what they do either, is it? So what do we need to know about your workplace? You can share them on 9-6-9-6. Oh, 100 dials at them. Have a great times have a vent on a Friday. Let it all out before you get to work. Good morning. How are you going, teams?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Really good. Now, what do you want people to know about your industry? So I work as a showroom consultant. And I'm not going to go too far into it, but I... Excuse my ignorance. What is a showroom consultant? So I work in the plumbing industry, and I work on the showroom side. So people come into me and they decide if they want, like, a vanity and a shower.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Oh, okay. Right, right, right, right. So you kind of put together those like pretend half bathrooms. Yes, yes, that's exactly it. Ever had anyone crap in one of the toilets that wasn't working? No, I've had rubbish put in them, but yeah, none of that. Classic. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Yes, but I would like everyone to know that we can't hold every single product in stock and it takes time for things to be made from, especially from suppliers, and then I'm at the mercy of shipping and things like that. So it takes at least two weeks to get things. like that into branch and Leonte it's right there. I'll just have that one. I'll just have that one. It's right there. I'll just have that one. But you can't have that one. Why not? But I want that. I'm going to, how this works, Leontas, I give you money and it becomes my one.
Starting point is 00:34:18 I've experienced this doing renovations lately. You're just like, but what do you mean to? What do you mean six weeks? Oh, no, six weeks. I haven't had six weeks, but two weeks normally for like a custom-made product. Yeah, right. It's like going to a furniture store. I know. I'll have a that one and they're like, okay, the lead time's four weeks. You're like, no, I'll, that one. I think my couch was 12 and came from Australia. It kind of blows your mind, but you're like, what do you mean, freedom furniture?
Starting point is 00:34:44 Why don't you have 12 of these ready to go right now for me to chuck on the back of the youth? Well, that's great for people to know, Leontay, thank you. Let's go to Anonymous. Anonymous, what is it that you want people to know about your industry? Good morning. We can tell that you can't, that you don't floss. Oh, okay. We've got an oral health.
Starting point is 00:35:04 We've got an oral health therapist on the show. Is it true you can also tell if something else has been in the mouth? Yes. How? People don't know this, but it's actually you can. The dentist's in that you can tell, can't you? Yes, you can. Is it bruising?
Starting point is 00:35:23 Yes, brozing. Bruising? Of the soft, of the what? The soft tissue. It's weird that Vaughn's sense, most concerned about anyone in the room right now. I just eat a banana real hard and I don't want there to be any confusion. Now, Anonymous, say you did have the dentist or the oral hygienist at what point should you... How many days before should you stop
Starting point is 00:35:46 eating a banana real hard? I'd give it a couple of days. A couple of days. A couple of days. Have you ever been surprised someone's come in and you're like, oh, fresh, okay. It's usually the elderly woman. Oh, piss off. Pass on. I thought you were going to say like a married man. Nana's on the doggies. This is a living tree.
Starting point is 00:36:12 This is wild. I think there'd be a whole segment in like industry secrets that we could do. I love this. This is so fascinating. Anonymous, thank you for sharing. Thank you so much. Another question. Because I'm going to, I always do the hygienist about every six months.
Starting point is 00:36:27 How often should I start flossing before coming? Oh, a last awake A lot of words there too as well Okay, yeah, sorry about that Yeah, okay, thank you, Anonymous We'll leave that there, Vaughan Thank you very much, Anonymous That was fascinating
Starting point is 00:36:41 Insightful I bet I bet you a lot of people just found that out For the first time too It's not well known Kayla What do you wish people knew about your industry? So I'm a barista And I wish that people would stop
Starting point is 00:36:55 Asking if I put sugar in their coffee When they never asked for the sugar in the first place default is no sugar, right? Yeah. I went somewhere and I thought they're added in for fun. Yeah, I went somewhere for my standard long black, not my usual cafe. Yeah. And I was like, man, that's sweet.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And I was like, yeah, one sugar's standard. I was like, no, no, no. What? Sugar is not standard. Nobody does standard sugar. I know. I thought so, too. Especially with like diabetics, right?
Starting point is 00:37:24 You wouldn't just surprise peanuts. A cost that we don't want to. we don't want to waste. Exactly, yeah. That's wild. Okay, Kayla, thank you. Some messages are and so many. What is the thing you wish people would know about your industry and stop asking?
Starting point is 00:37:41 I'm an apirist. They look after bees, not apes. It does sound like an apist should look after the monkeys at the zoo. A beerist. But the bearist. A biologist. And everyone asks if I get stung. Of course I get stung.
Starting point is 00:37:54 And yes, it still hurts. I don't have a reaction I used to. So I've just started to, like people like mow lawns, because no one asks questions about that. No. You would, but I would. Most wouldn't. I would ask what's the moa you're rocking.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Interior plastering can't all be done in one day, no matter what you've seen on the block. It just isn't very interesting television to watch a three times. Yeah, to come back and touch it up and sand it and do it again and get it ready for painting. It's not good television. It's such an artwork plastering, eh?
Starting point is 00:38:23 You love seeing it. When I saw that with my recent renais, I was just in war. I love when they're, get like a nice, tight, like a sharp corner. Yeah. And when they go in the corner. And when they mix it up,
Starting point is 00:38:35 they go from spatula and then I try it and it's just, it doesn't look like that. Larnie also works in bathroom sales. Don't bring in your broken toilet seat to say I need another one of these. Pretty standard. We don't want it. We don't want to see what your ass has been on either.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah, good call. So I said, my vet recently told me it's funny. The names people give cats as he was sowing dunk in a new bumhole. I wonder how Duncan's new bumhole is. Could we get a follow up there, 6-2-1? How was Duncan was run over by a car? Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:39:05 And the vet needed to sew him up a new bumhole. Where would you put the new bumhole on the side? I probably believe the last one was. No, but obviously there's no room or... I imagine the car ran over Duncan and sort of like the pressure exploded everything out the asshole. And so that's... Sorry, bumhole.
Starting point is 00:39:20 So once the vet had pushed it all back in, he just sewed it all up. It could be on the side, Vaughn, you don't know. You don't want it on the side. That's confusing for Duncan. Right. Also, can the oral hygiene... Carry on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Oh, okay. Yes, it is going to hurt. That's from a beauty therapist who does Brazilian waxes. Okay, yes. I am a nurse. I work in sexual health. You cannot get chlamydia from a toilet seat. Your partner's giving you that one.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Yeah. Your partner's cheating on you. Not everything that happens in your town is the council's fault. And if you don't tell us about things, we don't see them. Yeah, exactly. Like, complain about it. about the pothole. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Because if you don't, they don't know. I brew beer. And no, I don't want to taste your home brew. I don't want to talk about your setup.
Starting point is 00:40:07 That's going to cost me time. Oh, they're like a proper brewer. Yeah. Right. No, we don't know where your parcel is without a tracking number.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Curias, yep. Vet industry, no, we're not price gouging. There's no government subsidies in the vet industry. Like there is in human medicine. Yeah. Somebody said,
Starting point is 00:40:27 there's so many of them. If you want to have a baby, don't leave it until you're late 30s to start trying. The stats are not good. Freeze your eggs. Fertility nurse. Oh, okay, yeah. I've missed the boat then. I'm so sorry, because I know how desperately you want children.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I work at a sleep clinic. I help people get CPAP machines. No, I don't need to know if you pooed you're in the night. It's not necessary. It's not needed. I'm a news reporter. Stop asking me for more good news. I can't control what's happening.
Starting point is 00:40:59 in the world. Yeah, it's grim. Spoiler, not much good is happening in the world. No. Man, there's so many people, and I hear your frustration. I love this. I love that we've been able to have a Friday vent. Yep. Get it off of our chest and maybe we've learned about some other industries. Yep. Yep. Oh, I'm an MRI radiography. Yes, I know the machine's loud. There's not a quieter machine. I have to sit and listen to it for eight hours every day. Yeah. So trust me, I'm well aware. I Reddit user said Kiyoro, when I lived in New Zealand
Starting point is 00:41:32 I used to buy damaged cars off the insurance auction some to drive around and some for the track to find good ones I wrote a little scraper program that saved every Mannheim, New Zealand damaged vehicle listing each morning I live in Singapore now but I never shut it off because a few mates back home were still using it. Three years later
Starting point is 00:41:49 I'm sitting on about 660,000 listings so that's how many cars have been written off. Would you said something? A report? A Mannheim report? A Mannheim, New Zealand damaged vehicle listing. They, insurance companies, I think, they buy them off the insurance companies. Right. Okay. And then, and then sell them as rights or for parts or whatever. Yeah. So I'm sitting on 660,000 listings. And so they've compiled a list of the most written off cars. Which would also probably coincide with the most popular. Correct. Or no, because they would be easier to fix.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Yeah. Or cheaper to fix. So Toyota is the most popular written off car brand. One, and five all written off cars, roughly 96,460,000. Yep. Was Toyota cars. Which would make sense because that would be New Zealand's most popular brand, right? Yep. Yeah. Then Mazda, then Nissan, then Honda.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Right. So all Japanese imports. Yep. All Japanese brands. Front damage is by far the most common damage to a car. So just d'olf. Going up someone's rear. Yep.
Starting point is 00:42:54 No, the tale is how most Kiwi cars die. One in 10 listings in the last month were stolen or recovered. Oh, wow. So taken for a drawer and some way written off. And hybrids have gone in 2023, one in 18 written off cars were hybrids. Now it's one in eight.
Starting point is 00:43:10 As they become more popular. Wow, okay. So it's fascinating. Here we go. The most written off models of cars. Toyota Croller is number one. Yep. Suzuki Swift is number two.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Mazda Demio is number three. Nisantita is number four. Now these are all small cars. Those Nisantitas don't look like they're taking impact well. I don't know what the ANCAP safety rating is for a Tita, but are you going to give that a red-hot? I am, yes. Give that a red-hot Google.
Starting point is 00:43:39 The Acqua is in it fifth place. Then the Mazur Acceler, the Toyota Press, and the Honda Fit. So all smaller cars. Actually, a NISTRAT has a four-star N-cap safety rating, which is fantastic. Tested in August 2006. Yeah. Yeah, that's for the model, 20s. 2006 to 2012.
Starting point is 00:44:00 The median amount of kilometers on the clock at time of right off? Yeah. 157,000. Okay. So the damage that led them to being written off goes, first of all, front damage, then rear damage, so you know details. Stolen and recovered.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Airbags deployed. Well, a car gets ridden off when the airbags go off. I guess, oh, like an older car with a low value, like some of these cars mentioned, like a teeter. once the airbags go off to get them repacked and everything's kind of... Yeah, so expensive. Costs more.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Wow. Water damage and fire damage. Oh, okay. Yeah. Fascinated. It was really fascinating. Isn't that fascinating? It's just somebody who was just like,
Starting point is 00:44:43 I wrote this program to do it. So, and yeah, that's crazy. The ZAM Podcast Network. ZDM's Fletch, One, and Haley. I read this on the New Zealand Herald. Last night, it's a little bit of company synergy. there for anyone keeping track. A New Zealand lawyer
Starting point is 00:45:01 is no longer practicing law because she lied to her employer to get bereavement leave. Now someone had died but it had been two and a half years and her estranged family had not told her about this family member's death. So when she found out she wanted some time off
Starting point is 00:45:19 her employer was like, could we get asked for some more details about the bereavement leave and she gave them a fabricated obituary. Like she'd gone and placed an ad? Or she'd photoshopped it. Yeah. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:34 What a great idea. She reported herself to the Law Society. Oh, okay. Her former employer was just like, okay, it's all good. Well, they didn't say it's all good, but she reported herself. I guess because she was worried someone would. Yeah, maybe. Front foot it?
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yeah, front foot. That, yeah. Oh, okay. But then that's, yeah. That, she got caught up in a lie and went to the extent. to get some time off? Like, how much is an obituary cost? Per word, eh?
Starting point is 00:46:02 It's per word. It's per word. I'm going to Google what does what. But you could take out a fake ad or loving uncle or brother or step sister of Vaughn. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Loved Vaughn the most. Oh my God. Vaughn will be deeply heartbroken by this death. A newspaper death notice or obituary in New Zealand typically costs between $200 and $600. Depending on size of the notes. Would we get a discount for the Herald? get a discount.
Starting point is 00:46:28 We get a staff discount, surely. Is that on the benefits page? Of the intranet? I don't know. You go onto the intranet, which is like the internet just for company stuff. But also, you wouldn't want to fake a death notice
Starting point is 00:46:38 paying for it with your company discount with the company you work for. No, that's what Nana would have wanted. You'd get a friend to do it. If I ever have grandkids one day, I'm going to instilling them very hard from the word, go, they're free to, once I'm dead, they can use me for anything.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Yeah. Use me for any experience. excuse you want. That's the key to getting out of work and faking days off. You don't use an alive grandparent. You can go to town on a dead one. In fact, if I die, anybody, feel free to use
Starting point is 00:47:07 me for any excuse. Yeah. He would have really wanted me to have that last piece of cake. He would have. Something like that. Feel free, knock yourself out. We wanted to know this morning, and we can be anonymous with this.
Starting point is 00:47:17 When the lie got out of hand. You got deep into a lie or the lie got out of hand because I guess when you're taking out fake ads, it's getting a bit much, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. You're just, all of a sudden, you're just spiraling into this web of lies. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:32 That got somebody's just messaged in. I honestly just feel free to tell. I tell people now, if they need an excuse, you can tell the onset of who I'm dead. Yeah. So that's what we want to know. Yeah, when did the lie spiral? How far did it go? How deep was the lie?
Starting point is 00:47:46 Maybe it was with work and something. Also, I'd love to hear from people who knew something was up and launched their own little investigation into somebody else's lie. Yes. Because that always feels good when you're like, I don't trust that person. Everyone's like, no, they'll fine, they're fine. You're like, mm-mm.
Starting point is 00:48:02 And then you uncover something. Yeah, you're up. Okay, great. Well, we want to take your calls now. 0,800 dials at him. We want to know when the lie got out of hand. At school, my mate and I swapped names for a laugh with a student teacher. We went months and then felt bad, so we just stuck to it.
Starting point is 00:48:16 But then we had to give it up when one of us was going on holiday. And it was going to be marked. The other one was going to get marked abs. Yeah. I have to explain to your parents why they weren't at school. The head teacher was. because obviously we got in trouble and had to go. On a night out, I developed a British accent.
Starting point is 00:48:32 I ended up going home with a guy. There was a great vibe. So for the next three dates, I had to keep up the British accent. Until what? I called things off because it was too much work. Yeah. What if that was the man of your dreams? I guess you've always got to be British.
Starting point is 00:48:45 You've always got to be. You're British now. Wonder if it was a good British accent, or he just hadn't been to Britain. Or a terrible one. I ended up getting a bad tattoo because I told a hot girl I loved her art, so she'd go on a date with me, but then on said date and after a few drinks, she said, I'll do that tattoo on you tonight and I couldn't back out because I told her how much I loved it. No.
Starting point is 00:49:04 I've still got the tattoo. That's insanity. Yeah. There's so many. I once saw the guy I was seeing that I was moving overseas because I didn't want to date him anymore. He knew my flatmates know, though, so they all thought I was moving out. It was a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:49:18 It was a whole debacle. I guess that's when you start your OE. You just leave. I told my boss I had a dead. The dentist's appointment, I just wanted to leave work early on a Friday. Six months later, I'm still pretending I'm getting braces adjusted every second Friday. I don't even have braces. And what?
Starting point is 00:49:37 They're on the, I just said they're on the inside. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he's never asked the look in my mouth. He must just be like, is she like, like, he must be pretty terrible of the boss. You can't see those inside braces. No, yeah, the bands. All you need to do is every now and they'd walk like, like, like, sorry, my braces. I feel like if it was the 90s or the 2000, the boss would run a finger along your mouth.
Starting point is 00:49:54 He'd run a finger along the inside of your teeth. teeth. You know what? And it's PC madness that you can't put your fingers in your employee's mouth anymore. It is disgusting. It is, you know, how do I know
Starting point is 00:50:04 she's not lying? Let me get some fingers in there. I told a girl that I could surf. We sort of started seeing each other. And we went to Raglan for my birthday. She surprised me with a trip to Raglan because of course I'd love to surf.
Starting point is 00:50:18 I fell over on purpose and faked a shoulder injury so that I couldn't do it. Oh, okay, good. Took a tumble down some stairs. Yeah, that's good. How good is that? Somebody said, I once told my girlfriend's parents, at the time girlfriend,
Starting point is 00:50:33 that I was allergic to mushrooms. I just don't like mushrooms, and they had mushrooms and everything. What's wrong with you? Mushrooms are delicious. 12 years later, and my mother will still cook me a separate meal if they're having something with mushrooms. I'm just like, uh-oh. My husband thinks I'm a natural redhead.
Starting point is 00:50:50 He always talks about how much he loves that I'm a redhead. My wife's a redhead Really goes on about it It's not real What about the pubs? That's the giveaway I don't know Sometimes redheads have a lighter shade of
Starting point is 00:51:04 Yeah right Maybe darker pubs Yeah I don't know But yeah we've been married now And he doesn't know That you know Naturally I'm a blonde
Starting point is 00:51:11 But I've I've died at red Okay Still get it died Every time I go to the hairdresser You could go grey I suppose You could go back to blonde
Starting point is 00:51:20 And just say That you're going grey Because redheads do lose The colour Yeah right earlier than. Yeah. That's an expensive upkeep, though.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Okay, whoopsie, Daisy. I had told the misses I'd given up smoking. When I took the rubbish out to the end of the driveway, I'd have a smoke. One time she was coming out and she'd catch me, so I threw the smoke in the bin and it caught fire. I don't know. No word, no word weather.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Just go, oh, those bloody kids, the neighbour's kids have been out of it again. Smoking. That's why I smell like smoke. I was chasing them away. Play ZM's flesh for, and Haley. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day.
Starting point is 00:52:00 A do-d-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do do-do do-do do-do do-do do-do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. This week's fact of the day is shipwrecks and fact of the day is bought to you by St. P.S. Today's sushi of the day is eight pieces of smoked salmon avo for $8.40. Now, I'd also like to thank St. Pierce. They've sent us a sushi cake. which is rice, put into a cake mold, and then topped with sushi toppings, I think. It looks delicious.
Starting point is 00:52:28 I haven't cut into it yet. But I assume that would be... You just said you're going to take it home for lunch, and everyone in the office is like, what about us? Well, this says, Dear Vaughn. Well, why don't I get a sushi cake? Also, they're enabling my bad behavior. What bad behavior?
Starting point is 00:52:41 Forgetting. Well, no, but you do eventually. I get there. Eventually. Yeah. We're loving the facts you've been spilling, and thanks to the mentions, here's some sushi cake, too. Oh, it says to share with the team.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Does it specify what team work on? Home team. The home team. The home team. The home team. Yeah. Home team. Home game.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Today's fact comes to us from Bailey. Bailey is one of our international listeners and she is from Kansas City. And that's right. You two can listen to the podcast wherever in the world you are on the IHard app. Spotify, Apple podcast, wherever you podcast. Should I be dinging the competitive apps? Not really. High Heart we've got, of course, the company.
Starting point is 00:53:20 Yeah. Synergy with. She said, Howdy Vaughan, here's a shipwreck story for you. Google the Arabia. The Arabia steamboat, museum, and the Arabia. So I've looked into Arabia. The Arabia was a paddle steamer that sunk on the Missouri River in September 1856.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Wow, long time ago. Near modern day Kansas City. Okay. That's where Bailey's from. It hit a submerged walnut tree trunk, which was called a snag. And the snags were the main things that took down riverboats. So riverboats flatter The paddle steamer on the back
Starting point is 00:53:55 Chugga chugga Yeah For those of us who grew up in Hamilton Of course the Wipar Delta Which they moved didn't they They got rid of that They brought it to Auckland Doesn't look right
Starting point is 00:54:04 And then it got taken somewhere else I think it's in a paddock now 96-96 Where's the Wipar Delta Where's the Wipar Delta? We just get a 96 I've told this story a heaps of times But I remember growing up
Starting point is 00:54:13 We were in farmers In the Siga corner Where they used to have like The Sega Mega Drive And the Siga Masters system And they'd change the games out and a young man was talking about how he'd just throw in poos off the Hamilton Victoria Street Bridge onto the Wipar Delta. It was a common occurrence.
Starting point is 00:54:29 It was a common occurrence. People would drop stuff onto the Wipar Deltah. That's why it had the roof on it for those wondering. So the steamboat, the Arabia, hit a walnut tree and sunk. All the passengers got off, 130 people, which is quite amazing for 1856 that they all got off. A mule was the only live casualty. It was tied, of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:48 Oh, okay. We didn't need to know that. And the ass got taken. Okay. The ass got taken to the bottom of the Missouri. It was carrying about 200 tons of supplies because it was supplying frontier towns and of course you could get around in a horse and wagon
Starting point is 00:55:01 but river was the main transport route before roads and rail got through there. So there was boots, clothing, dishes, tools, like everything, guns, preserved food. It was like basically the contents of a general store. Okay. And it sunk. Now over the next 130 years,
Starting point is 00:55:17 the Missouri River shifted. And where the wreck lay, no longer because it was a river. Oh. It became farmland. In 1988, the Hawleys, our local family, used old maps and a metal detector and found the boat under a cornfield. A Kansas cornfield. Because I guess all the, what, the silt would have covered it over.
Starting point is 00:55:37 It sunk and just went into the super muddy base of the Missouri. And then the river shifted and it was like half a mile. So 800 meters away from where the river was. And it was 45 feet underground. Wow. Okay, that's dead. It's like divided by three you get meters. So 15, 15 meters underground, which is astronomically deep.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Yeah. So it had been sealed. It went into mud and it got cut off from oxygen and much like the peat bogs preserving bodies. Yep. They dig up these bodies that were deprived of oxygen, which of course is needed for bacteria to break down. It was perfectly preserved. Oh, wow. So they excavated it.
Starting point is 00:56:17 They spent ages excavating it. They didn't sell the collection. There was a jar of pickles there, and someone opened it and ate the pickles, and it was still good. What? Yep, 150 years after it sunk. I don't know if I ate 150-year-old pickles.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Same, but not 150-year-old pickle. I wouldn't. They'd be like, Vaughn, don't open that jar. I'd be like those kids that they leave with one marshmallow. If you don't touch that, when I get back, you can have three marshmallows. I'd eat it. I'd be cranking the pickles and drinking the juice. So they opened the pickles.
Starting point is 00:56:44 They didn't sell any of the collection. They made a museum. And that museum, the Arabia Steamboat Museum, is in Kansas City. They are still excavating stuff from the wreck. Oh, wow. And you can go and see it. It's described as like basically the time capsule of 1850s.
Starting point is 00:57:02 Of 1850s. Wow. Of the pre-Civil War America. Huh. And you can go and see the, and Bailey has been to the museum. Yeah, right. And says it's a very interesting museum to go to. Nice.
Starting point is 00:57:14 So today's fact of the day is a boat sunk in the Missouri River in 1856. and 130 years later was dug up 15 metres under a cornfield. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. I do-d-do-do-do-do-d-do-d-do-d-do-d-d-do-d-do-d-do-d-do-d-do. Play Z-M's, Flesh, Fawn and Haley. My kids love a T-Mu. I try to put them off, but sometimes they just literally want to buy something that you pay exactly the same thing.
Starting point is 00:57:51 You pay five times as much for it because shops have got it off drop shipping, you know? Yeah. So they love a T-Moo. And I need to order. Who doesn't? It's bad, eh? It's bad.
Starting point is 00:58:02 It's bad. I hate it, but I love it. And so much of it's crap. It doesn't work. And you got T-moed because you bought that thing that cat's scratching thing. I know. And the cat on the photo looked giant.
Starting point is 00:58:13 It was tiny. It was tiny. You've got to check your dimensions. But they said to me, what did you do? Where did you get? stuff before Timer, and that's what I've come to all realisation. The $2 shop is millennial teamer. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:27 Because how, when you were a kid, did you used to, like, you'd go past the $2 shop, you didn't know what you wanted, but you had five bucks and you said, your mom, can we stop at the $2 shop? Can we go to the $2 shop? And you can do you don't need that shit, that's what mom would say, you don't need that shit, just going to waste money on some bullshit. And if it wasn't a $2 shop, it was like something similar. So I was, and then I kind of got a little.
Starting point is 00:58:49 This might surprise you. I got a little hyper-focused on something and did a deep dive into what happened to the $2 shop. Yep. Producer Girlies, GnC, do you remember the $2? The $2 shop? It was so good. You're taking me back to having a pink finger bum from Baker's Delight at Bot Me Mall.
Starting point is 00:59:06 A finger bum. Sorry, a what? A pink-fingered bum. Bun. B-U-N. You said it weird. 9-6, 96. Am I the only one that heard you take me back to have a big fingered bum? Yeah, she's a hundred-finged bum.
Starting point is 00:59:17 What the hell is a pink finger bun? Like a Boston bun. I know what you're talking about. No, just from big. They're just called pink finger buns. Plain white bun. Yeah, it's like this long. Yeah, it's like pink icing on top.
Starting point is 00:59:30 Yeah, yeah, I know those. They literally just called like by name pink finger buns. Pink fingered bum. I'm going to keep on dancing with my pink fingered bum. But yes, I went to the legitimate $2. I used to get Scoobies. I was a big Scooby girl. What's a Scooby?
Starting point is 00:59:45 The plastic kind of long string and you'd make Scoobies with them. Right. Oh, a little craft. When did they, what under them? Was it? So I Google. Cheap Chinese products, shipping to New Zealand? Inflation, rising lease costs.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Hard to pay your mortgage in $2.00 coins. And like other ones, other ones opened. Yeah, like your coin saves and $1, $3 and, yeah, $5 and under $10. When did I see $1, $1,000 and plus? I was just like, you're just describing any store. Yeah, you're just a store now, dude. Yeah, you're just a store. I also feel like people kind of, like, revolted a little bit.
Starting point is 01:00:17 when they went to two and five dollar shop or whatever. Yeah, they were like, how dare you go to three? Yeah. Yeah. They branched out and renamed and were like, oh, we've got to have some more boogie things. Because I remember somebody, I can't remember exactly who it was, but somebody was on a TV show once, and they bought a $2 shop. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:00:39 They bought into a $2 shop. And I remember my mind was blown because to buy into the franchise of the $2 shop was not $2. Well, I feel like, it was so expensive to get up. the official brand. I feel like also the $2 shop, there was a real win and loss of it because some things you'd be like, man, a water gun for $2 is sick,
Starting point is 01:00:55 but one pipe cleaner is not worth $2. Yes. Yeah. I would hype for a pack of pipe cleaners. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just being hyperbolic, but... 966. Did anybody ever use pipe cleaners
Starting point is 01:01:08 for actually cleaning pipes? I only use them because what now would have crafts and they'd say you needed pipe cleaners. Do you know they've rebranded? What are they called now? Chanel sticks. Chanel. Yeah. Not like the wool. There's a Chanel will.
Starting point is 01:01:20 I'm getting real, as your official craft consultant. Right, like it's spotlight and stuff. Yeah, they're good shinial sticks. They're not called. It's only just occurred to me, smoking pipes. Yeah, that's what they were for. That's what they were for. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Yeah. How did you not know that? It's literally in the name. I was just imagining a shit plumber. Yeah, right. Well, yeah, he would be a terrible plumber if installed a pipe that small. Great news. Flash your toilet.
Starting point is 01:01:46 It's going to take two days to drain. No, no, those. going to go down it because I installed a tiny pipe, but here's a bag of pipe planners. Yeah. My dad looked at buying a $2 shop back in the day, and each franchise cost $250,000. Wow. Because they had to put in the branded carpet. I remember that.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Remember the $2 shops all had the same carpet? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. And everybody else definitely heard you say pink fingered bum. There's multiple text messages. If you could please apologize to the listening public now, Shannon, just so we don't go to the broadcasting standards of authority and it's dying last few months. I am sorry that I described my.
Starting point is 01:02:17 My bum is pink and fingered. The Z&M Podcast Network. Now, this happened on the 2nd of October 2015. You were on holiday. Yeah. I'm probably overseas, were you? Bali, I think, yeah, at the time. Son of a bit.
Starting point is 01:02:32 But I was on holiday, but at home. Yes. And work called and said, we've had a last minute opportunity to interview Justin Bieber. Do you want to do it? And I was like, not really. That's the kind of guy I am. He's a company man. He's coming in.
Starting point is 01:02:46 and they've blocked out like you can hang out with him for as long as you want I was like okay so I came in on my holidays and I got to meet Justin Bieber who you know I was how old was I 30 or mid 30s Yep Justin Bieber was like still in like
Starting point is 01:03:01 his pop era yes he wasn't the the the ruffian that you know him as these days yeah he was a bit of a cheeky naughty boy though and you got you and I just hung out with Justin Bieber for like ages like over half an hour
Starting point is 01:03:15 we just right We recorded this insanely long interview that got mutilated down to a radio friendly five or six minutes. Yeah. But it was just the just hanging out podcast form interview chat hang. Yeah. With a very lovely Justin Bieber. And they popped up on my memories today. And it's a photo of me and him.
Starting point is 01:03:33 And even when at the time when I took the photo, people are just like, that's not real. Is it? Because you do look like a believer who has photoshopped yourself into a photo with Justin Bieber. Yeah. It looks fake. Yeah, it does. Yeah. But it's real.
Starting point is 01:03:46 That's real. We've put it up, because it came up in your memories today. 10 years, 10 or 11? Hold on, let me check. Time, man. It just keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking. 11 years ago. Yeah, it was 2015, yeah, 11 years ago.
Starting point is 01:04:01 So that's on our Instagram. It's a post, FVHZM, if you want to see that. Real photo. Real photo. And I remember you saying when I was on holiday in a way, you're just saying like, you think he appreciated the fact that it was just a nice, not what he was used to. He was being hounded every.
Starting point is 01:04:17 where he went. Like he got ushered into the building and then they shut the building off basically and he just moseyed around. He played darts with people. Yeah. I think he wanted to hotbox something. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:31 I don't know what that means. I still don't know. I just remember thinking, oh goodness, though, thank you. Yeah. Wasn't there something with a fish tank or a tank? Didn't we have some fish at the time? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:41 Yeah, what happened with the fish tank? Someone put something in the fish tank? I can't remember. I can't remember. He was a lovely, it was a, Very polite young gentleman, though. And I wish him well. You wish him well.
Starting point is 01:04:51 I hope he has all the success of this 11 years later. He had some turbulent time since your interview. However, an 11 years for him. So I don't know if you put him on the right track. Yeah. In this photo, he definitely looks significantly younger than he does when you see him these days. I still look like the same piece of shit I was 11 years ago. So that's pretty.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Have you haven't aged in the photo? A little bit. A little bit, but not too much. Yeah. Okay. I think he's got more tats. We both got more tattoos. I've got one in total
Starting point is 01:05:19 and he has significantly more tattoos than he had then. Well, you can see the photo, F-E-H-ZM on our Instagram. The Z-M Podcast Network. Play Z-Ns, Flesh, One and Haley. Well, Friends star, Joey, Matt Leblong. Matt LeBlanc has been seen zipping around Los Angeles on the California freeways in a Ford Focus, a $20,000 Ford Focus.
Starting point is 01:05:45 Okay. Now, those were discontinued in 2018, so it's at least that years old. Right. And people are noting that from Friends residuals alone, he makes $20 million US dollars a year. Correct. He is worth about $85 million, Matt LeBlanc. Wow. And people are like, dude, is driving a Ford Focus?
Starting point is 01:06:09 It's not a Zippy Ford Focus. Didn't your mum have a Ford Focus? No, my nan had a Ford Focus. That's right. It's actually sitting in my Uncle Murray's horse stable. It's going to be Indy's first car. Is it? It rules, man.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Zipi is all how. Well, Indy could be driving that as their first car. Matt LeBlanc, Joey from Friends, has a Ford Focus, which is also people are like, dudes worth so much money, but also hosted Top Gear? Yeah, yeah, he hosted the top. Was it American Top Gear or just Top Gear that he was, when Clarkson and May and that left?
Starting point is 01:06:38 And he's a car enthusiast. So this is what I wanted to know. Speaks volumes for the Ford Focus. Doesn't it? This is what I wanted to know. 966, 0,800 dials it in. Maybe it's a Kiwi thing, maybe it's not. But do you know someone that's really rich,
Starting point is 01:06:52 but you wouldn't know it, just walking past them in the street or seeing them around? Yeah. Because I feel like that's, if I like one lotto tomorrow, there's no way I'd be buying, like, expensive clothes and like, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:05 dressing in bloody gutchy or Louis Vuitton or whatever those brands are. I'm not supporting Louise Vton. And I imagine you'd be the same, right? Absolutely. There's nothing wanky. Even the photo of Matt LeBlanc waiting for his car or on the outside of restaurant,
Starting point is 01:07:22 he's literally wearing an old Harley Davidson t-shirt, sweatpants and added as trainers. You wouldn't look at that guy and it's like $85 million and driving a Ford Focus. I love it. It's understated. Damien's message and there was this old fella in Marston in the 90s and you'd see him rifling through bins and collecting aluminum cans. Everyone thought he was homeless.
Starting point is 01:07:41 But when he died in the 2000s that came out, he was a millionaire. Yeah. But just feels like a town, no. See, that just feels like a town urban legend? And, yeah. But I mean, you do hear of those old people that live so miserly in their scrooges. Yeah. And then they die.
Starting point is 01:07:58 Yeah, and they've got like a minute. And it's like, why don't you just enjoy life? They do enjoy life. Do they? They just enjoy it different. But yeah, when they've got all that money in the bag. I'd just be traveling everywhere. Yeah, totally.
Starting point is 01:08:08 Well, this is what we want to know. 0800 darsatem, 966. Is there someone that you? know who's really rich but doesn't look at. Marie, good morning. Hi, hello. Good, so you've got a family friend. They're a millionaire, but you wouldn't know it.
Starting point is 01:08:25 No, well, he's never been a very flashy guy himself, but he's a bit of a hoarder. He lives in a very rundown house out in West Brooklyn, and he doesn't have any electricity. He's got no running water. He goes to the toilet at the nearby where he's in his... on the yard or in the nearby train station across the road from him yeah but he used to own an orchard and he had sold it and now he's a millionaire
Starting point is 01:08:56 so one million two million three like he's got a lot of money exact that is so he got the money when he sold his orchard is that way years and years and years and years ago so he was used to not being a millionaire and then he became one but he just was set in his ways. Yeah, he couldn't care less. But like
Starting point is 01:09:18 go on a cruise or something or a holiday or buy some nice clothes or something. Yeah, or pay. Wait, you're telling me a boat can have running water and I do I say, do I have to shit off the side or? No, really. There are toilets? There's toilets on a boat?
Starting point is 01:09:34 Oh, that's unbelievable. What, does he have kids? Is there someone that's going? No, no, single guy. He's very old now. He's very elderly now. Marie, we've got to get it on. that well. We're going to get it on the wheel. This is the thing. Here's some guy that's probably freezing at night in winter and can't afford
Starting point is 01:09:50 electricity. It just doesn't want to because it's too expensive. Wild. That's a wild story, Marie. Thank you. Some more techs in. Do you know someone that... I've got a drug dealer mate that does not live lavishly but makes over $200,000 a year. See, that's a run-in with drug dealers as they buy all these flashy
Starting point is 01:10:06 and the gang members. They go and go crazy on these expensive... Yeah, the people are like, I've just got to ask the gold-plated motor-sons. Because we've kind of had a look at your bank statements and there's not... Yeah. I'm just... You don't have a job, but you're in a gang.
Starting point is 01:10:22 How are you affording this? See how this looks? Yeah, they don't. They never do, do they? My old boss was... I love the story. My old boss was really wealthy. Estimated between $30 and $40 million.
Starting point is 01:10:32 His net worth. Once in the supermarket, he put back a block of cheese because he found one $0.6 cheaper. That's why he's rich. Yeah. But again, like, just live life, dude. My old boss was wealthy. like proper wealthy, but always bought his reading glasses from the $2 shop.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Again, that's why he's wealthy. And drove a Toyota Prius and always had scruffy clothes. But see, then people aren't hassling him for money, are they? Because they don't think he's doing. He's got any. Yeah. My mum reuses an espresso coffee pods to get maximum coffee out. And we'll save food scraps and expired food.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Only shops at the sales, but drives in Ashton Martin. Oh, wow. Okay. That's how she can afford it. That's how she can afford it, yeah. My auntie and uncle were filthy rich. I'm talking millions and millions, plural. The only way you'd know was their holidays.
Starting point is 01:11:22 They have the most extravagant holidays around the world, but they always shop at cheaper places, only buy stuff when it's on special, drive ordinary cars. See, I feel like if I won Lotto, that would be me. Just have a simple car, live like that, and then just have amazing holidays. Yeah. Oh my God, someone said, oh my God,
Starting point is 01:11:41 I know exactly who your last caller was talking about. I can't believe he's still alive. Oh, wow. Okay. My dad made over half a million dollars last year, and everything he owns can fit into a backpack. Wow. I like that, so he's not materialistic?
Starting point is 01:11:55 Nice. He's got a simple life. Yeah. But what about the new latest Apple faulty phone, you know? That fits in a pocket. It fits in your pocket. Yeah. He's counting pockets as well as backpack. He's probably got a really old phone, too.
Starting point is 01:12:06 He's probably got a really old phone too. He's got cargo pants, so he's got so many pockets for his stuff. Yeah. Family friends live in a $5.5 million. house mortgage friend, and the guy drove one of those old red holden barinas where the paint's faded. Why does it red cars get that worse than any other car
Starting point is 01:12:20 right? They do, don't they? They get that. Yeah. Red cars get that sun fade really bad. Now there'll be a panel bed and listening, knowing exactly why. 9-6-96. Maybe it's all cars but you're just imagining red. Dark blue? Just any... But red is... You're always see a red car with a sunburn.
Starting point is 01:12:38 Okay. Yeah, always. I'm having to stand by that. I'm happy to go on record with that. Okay. Sure. Red cars get sunburned. Play ZM's FlashForn and Haley. Spark Arena in Auckland, the home of many a gig. Yes.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Many a basketball game. A concert. Yep. Ice Disney on ice. Sometimes they do the... I went to Hamilton there. Remember they did Hamilton there? Did they do the Lion King?
Starting point is 01:13:03 Yeah, they do the big musicals there. Tell you what, full of a rat for not going to that Hamilton. I only got on the Hamilton buzz post Hamilton. Well, you are from Hamilton. I'm from Hamilton. You're on culture. A Neanderthal. Yeah, a Neanderthal.
Starting point is 01:13:16 So there's an AI, there's an app. Now there's a Sparkorina app and also AI technology to help with like food and beverage. Because that can be a bit of the complaint when you go to a show is you're waiting a while. Correct, correct, correct. So you select what you want and then cameras don't
Starting point is 01:13:32 even need a scan a barcode. They can just tell what it is. And then you pay book and then you're out. I went into, do you remember that time I spoke about going to the Singapore, I was in the Singapore airport and there was a little like a little shop, convenience store in the waiting area and it had no
Starting point is 01:13:48 people in it and it just knew what you took and you swiped your credit card. Yeah. Living in the future. My favourite story of this ilk would be when there was that supermarket that said we just know there's cameras and it's AI and it turns out there was just a call centre in India.
Starting point is 01:14:07 Each person had a designated shopper that they'd follow around and switch camera to see what they were grabbing. And wasn't there a similar story along those lines with cars and where they were driving? And it was just people in cool centers. Driving the... Yeah, there was something to do with that.
Starting point is 01:14:23 Yeah. Yeah. Well, the technology has got better. So you pick up the food and drink, you'd like to purchase. Cameras, recognize it from any angle, and then, boop, you're out. So basically it means the queue will move as fast as you can.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Yeah, right. So if you were just like, grab, grab, grab, go. Yep. Oh, easy. That's fantastic. No, no, even with... Apparently it's in Marvel, like the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. Oh, okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:47 And a few different Australian stadiums and sports grounds. Right, well, I'm seeing Harry Styles at Marvel in Melbourne and November. So that'll be, that'll be good to know. Yeah. It does annoy me though because there was that lovely lady that worked at Spark whenever she saw us. Well, people will still be around. Well, I want them to be around. People will still be around.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Yeah, she was lovely. Yeah, all the staff are lovely there. Yeah. She'll be like, oh, that's falling on the floor. You better have that. The Fletchbourne and Haley. Big pod. UK woman, a marketing executive, has sued her workplace for discrimination.
Starting point is 01:15:19 It's always marketing. Is it? It's always the marketing department. She's sued for discrimination because she believes they've gone against her philosophical beliefs when she was refused time off to attend a rock festival, a rock music festival. It's weird when people want to take time off and it's time off. It's not like they're just wagging work for the day. They're asking for it.
Starting point is 01:15:45 They're saying, oh, I want to take some time off and people are like, no. They're allowed it. Yeah. Like you've got these weeks to use. Yeah, even if it's a busy thing, just be like, yeah, as long as like you get your stuff done before you leave or whatever. So apparently they were told that they couldn't cover her work, so they were refusing the leave.
Starting point is 01:16:02 And I'm assuming she knew the festivals coming up months in advance. Like, that's not your problem. That's a huge them problem. That's a huge work problem. That's a huge them problem. problem that they can't cover your work. So it's gone to an employment tribunal. She argued she held a protected philosophical belief that attending a music festival promotes
Starting point is 01:16:20 human flourishing. However, a judge has dismissed her case saying her belief was not protected by equality laws and it was more akin to a lifestyle choice. Right. Just like saying... So she was kind of trying to make a religious comparison, right? I think so. You wouldn't say no to me if it was a religious holiday.
Starting point is 01:16:43 Holiday. Yes, maybe. Yeah, but she's like, my philosophy is, I want to rock. Yes. Right. Okay. So what's there, is there an outcome?
Starting point is 01:16:53 They've said, he's dismissed the case. Ah. So. Always marketing that way. Always. Is it? It's always marketing.
Starting point is 01:17:02 Yeah. Well, I mean, we've got a lot of festivals coming up in concerts. And if you're in marketing, you're probably looking to pull some shenanigans. So don't. My bet is. It's always marketing. So don't. Is that the podcast done?
Starting point is 01:17:12 Because I'm busting for a poos. Basting for a poos. Jesus. Give us a review. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
