Starting point is 00:00:00 From the ZM Podcast Network. This is Fletchwin and Haley's Big Pod. Brought to you by Chemist Warehouse. The biggest brands are the lowest prices. Fleech Fawn and Haley Happy Tuesday. And for a wild day of weather across the South Island especially this morning. As you heard Bryn say, the ferry sailings cancelled between Wellington and Pacton. Oh.
Starting point is 00:00:21 We've got drizzle. We've got some snow on the way. Goodness. Another front coming through. What are some temperatures out there right now? Even when I got in my car this morning. It's not the coldest morning so far of the year, but I'd say the next couple of days will be.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Yeah, just to bar me five in Christchurch right now. Any chance my daughter's netball tournament will be canceled today? You don't want it to be or your sort of fingers cropped? Why don't you just not go like an 80s or 90s parent? Huh. Like daddy wasn't there. My dad was never there for me, vice. That's not what I want either of my daughters to ever have to say.
Starting point is 00:00:57 It gives you resilience when you grow up. Not, speaking, some of my dad was always there, but I know lots of people's who weren't, and they're very resilient people. You know, I can't grow up like me. I had the most supportive father either. Look at me, I'm entitled, privilege. A bit of a bitch, actually, too. Bit of a bitch. A bit of a bitch.
Starting point is 00:01:13 I need more clips around the year, I'll tell you. More hiding. Stern hand. Also, joining us today after 8 o'clock, Patty Gower, he's back, and I tell you what, everybody's talking about the peptides. We're talking about the peptides. It's all anybody's been talking about for the last year. peptides. I don't really understand them. But the gLP ones, that's one of them, right?
Starting point is 00:01:33 Well, yeah, like the weight loss jabs are peptides. Are they peptides? But they're regulated and, you know... There's a lot of like, off-market peptides floating around. That's the thing. Well, people are importing all these peptides, injecting themselves, and they don't know what they're injecting. Patti Gower on his...
Starting point is 00:01:53 Paddy Gower's got issues, which is today... You're airing tonight. Paddy Gala has issues. Yeah. He imports a whole bunch of these peptides. Has some testing. Oh, God. Anyway, he's in.
Starting point is 00:02:04 We're going to chat to him after 8 o'clock about this because it's fascinating stuff. I don't think I've ever injected myself with anything. No, I don't think they could. Because I don't have a, not like insulin or anything, you know, the little jabby. I know, I couldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:02:16 I'd be like, even if like a snake bit me and they were like, here's the syringe, I'd be like. I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared. I don't know what to do it. So what else do it? What does it? Those finger prick blood tests.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I've done those and you're just like, so scur-y. A big work up to it. Like, oh, way, away, away, away. Coming up, the top six. Yeah, later in the hour of the top six, bonuses for people without kids. Winston Peters wants to give people, I think it's about $45,000 per child. Oh, yeah, the birth rate's dropping, eh? A child.
Starting point is 00:02:48 To get making babies. I'm sure it's not a insane amount of money. We're going to have to have kids just to make money. You're going to have to sex with me and we're going to have to get pregnant. No, that's how it works. I'll pass. A little. bonus. Tell you what, you'll be poor.
Starting point is 00:03:02 You'll blow through, having them though, you'll blow through 45 grand, easy piece. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, well, I got the top six bonuses the government could give people who don't want kids. Thank you. It isn't bound to it. You'll get my vote. I'll tell you what, whoever has these ideas, you get my vote, the selection.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Yeah. Same. Next on the show, the Auckland Council. Party poopers. No, naughty. Party poopers. The Fletchmore and Haley. They've ever heard of these gentlemen. But my lord. Yes, you have.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Why? They swam in the new market. I saw that in the real. Can I say when I really go to that mall and it's sunny and it's coming through there? That's a whole thing. It's a lot. It's a rooftop fountain water feature thing. But it's got a glass bottom and the sun comes through and it's just like, wha.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Sparkles you in the face. Okay, they had a swam in that. been a defacing of an Auckland hill. You sound quite upset as a rights player. No, I'm pretty, I find this quite funny. What is that mountain? Well, there is some prep. Vaughan has done a terrible job as a season broadcasters of setting this breakup.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Sloppy radio again from Vaughan. Some pranksters have hit an Auckland landmark. Now, what are they called? City slickers. City slickers. And they do, they do silly pranks. Are they trying to be like, are they trying to be like the uninspired, the inspired, the inspired and applauded.
Starting point is 00:04:32 No. Those guys do skits. These guys do pranks. Outlandish. Yeah, they're the ones that swam in the New Market pool rooftop. Yeah. Their Instagram and TikTok is, yeah, just pranks. They're just lads.
Starting point is 00:04:44 That's like 444,000 likes on a video where one of them jumps off the fairy. Yeah. The Auckland fairy. I mean, I'm not encouraging that. No. But what have they done now? Well, they took weed eaters to the side of that. that hill on the side of the motorway.
Starting point is 00:05:00 If you're heading out of Auckland south, just past the new market flyover on the left-hand side. Big hill. What is that? St. John's? No, that's not John's. I don't know. I don't know what the hill's called.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Just a big hill. It was always a big day out, classic big day out prank. Someone would take the weed spray and draw a big C and be on that. Well, they, you know, they... It would always happen around the time of the big day out. Well, these guys sit weed eaters up. So I saw this video Sunday night on the city's lickers page. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:26 And yeah, they're weed-eater. EADers, CNB, you know, they've got the tape measures out there. They're wearing high viz too. Which, and I've always said you can get away with anything in high viz. Yeah, I've got high viz. It's quite a large CNB. Huge CNB there with the weed eaters. Auckland City Council have now shaved it.
Starting point is 00:05:46 They mowed it away. They've shaved the CNB. Oh, leave it a little bit. Let us enjoy it. So it's just a giant patch of shaved grass now. Yeah. Sure, I could do this because I've got, a very bad lawn out the back of my house, bad lawn. And I let it get long and then it was wet for ages.
Starting point is 00:06:04 So I've had to mow it in stages. You know what I mean? Like just get the top off and let it dry a bit. So it's long. Yeah, but it can ruin your lawn. Vaughn's had this. Happen to me, my lawn was ruined. Vaughn's been pranked by this.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Marty, who is now our content director. Our boss. Here at the station. When he was an intern, he housed at my house and he, under the instruction of Clint, who does the drive show, God, this is real who's who of radio. Yeah, under his instruction, motor very low C&B in my lawn while I was away.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And it was never the same. You went too low? Never the same. Yeah. Got it burnt. Scouted it, burnt the lawn. It was a lush beautiful lawn before. And then, of course, the kikuyu got in.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Oh, you take great pride in your lawn. And once the kikuyu is, and you'll never get that out. Oh, no. So I will say, I will say, trig carefully. This grass, though, having a look at the ones that are already kikuyu. on the side of the hill. Yeah, I'm Kankoia where I am. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:59 It's my least favorite grass. Oh, it's ropey. It's all hell. The council got straight up there. Yep. And shaved it. Shaved just, but didn't do the whole mountain,
Starting point is 00:07:07 so I just did the square. Well, I suppose they're trying to protect as much grass as possible. Yeah, I'm sure they were complaints. There were some quite heated comments on the video as well. Yeah. Gosh, that's silly boys. Very silly.
Starting point is 00:07:21 What will they do next? I do not know. Shenanigans. They're making money out of this? Well, see, oh, we should do this. I think they've had fines to pay. What's a cool prank we could do? You know, that won't upset local a wee.
Starting point is 00:07:35 That will be where I draw the line. Yeah, right. You know, we could eat something or sort of lightly vandalise something that's repairable. That'd be fun. No. No. Yeah? No.
Starting point is 00:07:46 All those vandals that hacked down the tree in Wanaka. What? You know, the one tree that hangs out of the water in Wanaka? What did you do that? Why would you do that? down there, it's still there. What are you talking about? We should hack it down. No!
Starting point is 00:08:00 That's a repairable. That's a lynched. You'll be put in prison. That draws in the tourists. Something smaller. We've got friends up, Cadrona. We could do something silly there. Spray paint the snow, you know. What do you do? What did you do that?
Starting point is 00:08:14 I'm trying to get a backup career plan going. What have you got against... What have you got against... What have you got into the snow or something? I'll melt away. Just say if these lads are making money out of those... in the future. We need to be future-proofing for after radio.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Maybe we're going to be the jackass of New Zealand. I think they're... Evidencing their own crimes. You guys are pussies. The ZDM Podcast Network. It's so silly, silly, silly that the silly... Silly little poll today is what kind of chopping board are you using? Wooden or plaster?
Starting point is 00:09:03 Wooden, plastic. Glass or other? Oh, yeah, the glass. I feel like glass shopping boards were a real 90s. Nineties as a. 90s thing with a little rubber bung underneath in each corner to just keep it elevated off the bench some point. Do you think other is just the bench? Just the bench. Straight up bench.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Or that stainless steel part of the bench. Which when you're renting is fine. So I read an article on the NZ Herald, my chosen news source. It's KPI babes. Where's the KPI bell? It's a key performance indicator for our job. That's right. To promote the other company's products.
Starting point is 00:09:35 And I stand by it. Great news source. About the benefits of Wood v. plastic because, you know, we know about the microplastics, but it's so bad. Do you know, per carrot, they looked at a single carrot cutting session. I'm only cutting one carrot on this board. Up to 1,114 microplastic particles were released per carrot. What?
Starting point is 00:09:59 That then can go into the carrot, can go into your food, scrape into the pan. It goes into you. It goes into your stir-fry goop. Yeah. Oh, not used to do it for I go. Mixes in. From the same study, 50 grams of microplastic a year from cutting boards alone.
Starting point is 00:10:17 So that's not even other things that we're ingesting. So that's the weight of a credit card of plastic from chopping on plastic boards. Which is crazy. And then they looked at, you know, because my thing was always like, doesn't the juice of the chicken absorb into the board? Yep. But no, wood dries in such a way that by the time it kind of dries, all of the bacteria is dead?
Starting point is 00:10:37 It draws some moisture in and it dies within hours. Yeah. Whereas the plastic. A lot of antibacterial properties is wood. Well, hardwoods like maple do. Yeah. Because I'm just looking here. Maple has natural anti-microbio.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Microbio. Microbial. Microbial. Microbial. Yes. Properties. And so, yeah, it will kill, like your chicken juice. Yeah, yeah, your chicken juice is killed.
Starting point is 00:11:03 So what is king is what you're saying. Yeah, the bad thing with plastic is winning. gets the grooves in it. That traps like your chicken juice. Yeah. And then we're giving it a little rinse. Yeah. But also, I was reading another thing that was like you've got to look after your wooden chopping boards.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Including, you know, when they get a bit textured and fluffy, that's what's going to grab onto things. We can give it a sand. Yeah, I sanded one back recently. Yeah. And gave it a real oil. It looked lovely. I bet, I bet. Must get a new, actually put, write that down, I must get some new lute sandpaper.
Starting point is 00:11:33 For the belt. Nice. The belt sander. Oh, okay. So you got a belt sander. I got a bounce sand and an orbital. I've got both. Wow, why don't you just use your hand?
Starting point is 00:11:42 Hard work, man. Hard work. Yeah, hands good. Hand works at a push. What kind of trouble do you're using? 59% of people said they're using a wooden one. 38% said they're using plastic. 2% said they're using glass and 2% said other.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Get ready. I got rid of the plastic. Have it looked back. Yeah. Rice husks, says Allison. Wooden and plastic are gross. glass blunts, your knives. Rice husks?
Starting point is 00:12:09 Rice husks. Can you get a? Having just purchased a wood and chopping board. Having just purchased a wooden chopping board, you know the best are apparently bamboo's really good. Oh yeah, bamboo would be good. They kind of look like a plastic made, you know, product from rice husk.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Oh, okay. So it looks like it's plastic, but it's not. Oh, okay. From rice husks. That actually looks lovely. Alex said veggies or water-based products on plastic and everything else on wood. Bread on wood, meat on wood.
Starting point is 00:12:37 such thing as a glass board. Well, there is Alex. Our moms love them in the 90s. They're still a real of color. The color inside of it. Splash of color to the kitchen. I saw a few of them. You can still buy them. But I think Alex, you've just learned to get rid of the plastic regardless of what you're cutting on. Your sandwich is going to have plastic in it.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Fiji. Knives on glass boards are like nails on chalkboard for me. It's a hell no. Also, I figure I should avoid adding microplastic so it's wooden all the way. Yep. Philip has said plastic. I like my food with a sprinkling of microplastics. Well, as long as you know.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Yeah. Oh, as long as you're choosing to ingest. I call my Troubingboard Beefy Boy because he weighs eight grand, eight KGs and costs $500. You're talking to Butcher's block now, I reckon. That's nice. That's nice. But then like every time, like I've got a big wooden one and every time you clean it, you've got to like, how do you get that thing in and out of the sink?
Starting point is 00:13:30 I've got a big deep sink. Same. I don't want to still. I've got a bit of girth and width here. Do you get a bit of girlfriend with? I've got a big farmhouse sink. I've got a huge one. I've got the same chopping board as Fletch.
Starting point is 00:13:43 One of them. Haley copied me. Because I saw it and I thought that's nice. Got to have that. Farmers and I thought, I'll grab me one of those. Red dots. I hope it was on a special. I don't go to farmers without a red dog.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Yeah, good on you. Nicky said the best when someone you know makes them and they get manky after they get used. They pour boiling water on them and put it out in the sun. Yeah, my dad puts them out of the water truck. Yeah, where I try it on the bench is where the sun comes in and you leave it up like that in the sun. I sort of stack mine to get all nice and mouldy behind the tap.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Yeah, lovely, lovely. No son. Kitchen bench, is my truck and board said, Carl. Alexander, my brother's a butcher and he told us to go with wooden is they are naturally antibacterial. There you go, the butcher's they know. Yeah, they know. The butchers do they know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:28 My husband is the kitchen. Is the kitchen man. That's nice. That's nice. Well, you could be getting plastic and you might not know it. He might be feeding you up. Yeah, but he's cooking it. But a plastic.
Starting point is 00:14:39 What kind of travel board are using us today? Silly little pole and 59% of you are using wooden boards. I've got a lot to do at the moment. I've got a lot to do. I'm demoing a shed and I've got a, you know, load a skim and do all these things. And also take care of myself, which means going to the gym. And yesterday, man, I was full of motivation.
Starting point is 00:15:03 That gym bag was on the back seat. Yeah. You know. And we had a couple of meetings yesterday and I got out of here and I was like, man, I'm looking forward to going to the gym. I looked at the gym bag and I was like, you're about to get opened, biotch, and put on. And then suddenly I was just like, at home. You know, like my car told me that I needed a little afternoon off.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And to be fair, I've been working on the weekends and stuff. So I was like maybe Monday's not my day. Right. Tuesday looking at the weather also feels like it could not be my day. I mean, I'm anti-jab until I'm not. So yesterday I found myself at home And I was like I think I just need a little lie down
Starting point is 00:15:41 And a little Just a bit of self-care For picking up what I'm putting down Right just a day An afternoon doing nothing An afternoon doing nothing And you know just relaxing So I close the curtains to my bedroom
Starting point is 00:15:58 Nice and black out I whip off my pants And I was like Whip off the top Get into the bed And I'm cozy And I'm just thinking, this is, this is what I deserve. This is absolute brilliance.
Starting point is 00:16:09 And snuggle in a little bit. And then I hear a knock at the door. And I was like, I've ordered groceries, but I think that they're arriving in the afternoon. Okay. So I was like, oh, they're early. The chicken can wait. The chicken will last on the porch.
Starting point is 00:16:23 It's cold enough. And you really are having a lazy day. I'm naked. I'm not getting out of bed for nothing. I've already decided I'm not going to do anything in the shed today. The skip got dropped off. That's there for a week. It can all just weigh. leave the groceries.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Knock, knock, knock, knock. And I was like, for God's sake, just leave the chicken, let the chicken rot. That's my choice. I've paid for it. I couldn't care less. Third knock, and I was like, you've got to be effing kidding me.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Quickly, like I don't put on a brand, it's quickly jam on a t-shirt and some shorts like this. And I open the door. And it's a man of quite attractive nature. You know, just going to be a gruff. You know, like gruff. Yeah, a bit of a gruff look.
Starting point is 00:17:03 Trade. It's going to say you've got a tradey. Shorts, boots, Swanee. I was like, hi, clearly I'm confused and I've given away that I don't know why he's here. Yeah. And he says his name. And I was like, seem to mean anything to me. And he was like, I'm here for the shed.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And I forgot that I've bought this shed, like a little temporary garden shed. And I'm not about to put it up, even though it said, you know, easy. You know, when it said assembly level beginner. That's good stuff. I was like, no. Really? I went to gyms, you know, gyms services, gyms mowing, gyms this.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Oh, you got a gym? I got a gym. Was his name Jim? No, but let's call him Jim. Okay. Jim's at my door to put my shed together. Why didn't you ask, is it Jim's shed assembly? Don't ask, don't even go away.
Starting point is 00:17:51 I would have done this. I would love to have built a shed. Better than what I was doing yesterday. What were you doing yesterday? I don't know what I'm trimming my hedge. No. I'm not, I can't be stacking up jobs for Vaughn. So, Jim's here to put together my shed
Starting point is 00:18:07 And I, my naked afternoon's been completely interrupted Wait, you didn't hire a hubby? I kind of have, I've hired a gym. Do you know what? Just hire a hubby moved over so Jim can... Well, they're both hire a gym. Do you know what? What was this gym's shed assembly or Jim's, gym's walk?
Starting point is 00:18:22 Because they've all got different names. I looked up handyman. Right, yeah. Which actually, I'll say, is very anti-feminist than me. I could have had a handy her. Yeah, you could have had a handy her. Yeah. The next time there's one of those celebrity charity boxing match,
Starting point is 00:18:34 I want to see hire a hobby versus Jim. Jim from Jim's mowing. Yeah, great, great, great, great. And they fight each other. But here's the problem is like, Jim, Jim's there. He said, I'm here to do your shed. I'm here to put together your shed. And where the shed's going, I hadn't prepped.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Like, there's all this piles of wood there. So he's like, show me the area on there. Boobes are swinging, right? No bra on. I'm just in these little shorts. And I was like, it's going there. He was like, right. So what's all that?
Starting point is 00:19:04 And I was like, yeah, well, I just got home. I was like snood seconds ago about to like, get me taken away and like indulge in this beautiful day in bed. Almost lucky you hadn't gone to the gym, otherwise you wouldn't have been home. I wouldn't have been home. Yeah. But then I had to like set to and literally move, like I'm not called piles of wood
Starting point is 00:19:23 and like huge slabs of this box that I'd demoed myself that hadn't been, I hadn't hacked them apart because, you know, Vaughn had also volunteered to come over and help me cut those in half. at haul those and whole pieces, low to skip. I ended up working for five hours on the outside area. And all he wanted was a... All I wanted was a naked sleep in the afternoon,
Starting point is 00:19:44 interrupted by Jim, who, you know, it was nice to have him around. Yeah. But then I felt sort of like once I'd done my bit and he was constructing the shed, I felt like Jim was judging me. Like I'd be lazy if I went, you're good, eh? You're good if I was to topple back and go to sleep.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I would have said something like, I've just got to go to have a meeting. Very important. I've got a very important. I've got a very important meeting going. How did your easy, how did the easy assembly go? Of the shed. He's not finished.
Starting point is 00:20:15 He's back today. So it wasn't beginner easy? Was it Jim's first time doing the shed? I don't know. I don't know. He was there for five hours and then I was working for five hours. So you're not getting a level construction of he was there for five hours. No, I think he's been, we've been oversold on this.
Starting point is 00:20:31 Right. And so no naked sleep today. then. And look at the weather. Like where we are, it's raining. I was like, in my head, I was like, don't worry. Your naked sleep was interrupted today. You'll be able to pick it up tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Now Jim's bloody back. I'm going to have to be in the shed looking like I'm also helping with the house as well. Not at all what I want to be doing. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley. From the Fletchforn and Haley group chat, this is the top six. The Kiwi Kids Grant is a New Zealand first election year promise, the family policy promising proposing a 5,000 annual tax repayment per child
Starting point is 00:21:14 for the first three years available for up to three children. Wow. I saw Winston talking about this. He's very concerned as an aging man himself of the declining birth rates. Who's going to look after the country? Who's going to pay for his retirement? Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:30 So. Well, he's worked well past retirement. age. I think he should retire. There's a call for it. How old is he? Ninety-eight? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:39 So you two were like, well what about us? We're not having children. We don't get it. We don't want children. We don't get the money, do we? It's not fair. Also, you know, I mean, congratulations to our lovely brie, but I'm not getting pay parental leave or anything
Starting point is 00:21:55 like that. We're talking, spoiler alert, getting a little gift bag together for her. I don't get a gift bag. Meals? People aren't bringing over lovely meals to my house. I'm also tired. Yes. Mother's listening. I being like, shut up. The up. Well, I've got the top six government bonuses for people who don't want kids.
Starting point is 00:22:19 This is great. Okay, thank you. And you know what? They'll get our votes, won't they? The selection. Yeah. Maybe. We'll see. We'll see. Number six on the list is government-mandated weekend sleep-ins. Phenomenal. Great idea. To when? Forever.
Starting point is 00:22:36 No, like, to what time can we sleep into? How long you want? But we can do that anyway. We don't have kids. Can you? Yeah. Are you allowed to, can you just do that when you don't have kids? Yeah. Do you know, like, every now and then, lunch, I'll get up at like 12. Well, the government will mandate it.
Starting point is 00:22:52 But I'm doing it anyway. Yeah, I know, but the government will mandate it. They hasn't swayed my lunch. Number five on the list of the top six are government bonuses for people who don't want kids. Government mandated disposable. income. That is. Because I pay my taxes to the other month.
Starting point is 00:23:07 And then what I have left I spend on me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but I already do that. Yeah, I know, but it's government mandated now. I'm mandating it now. Interesting. Right, interesting. Number four on the list, the top six government bonuses for people who don't want kids.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Government mandated eating what you want and cooking only one dinner. Again, babes. God, it's been a while. It's what we do. We just do that. Can you just do this willy-nilly? Yeah. And if we want, we could just be like,
Starting point is 00:23:31 just go out for dinner. Whoa! How often? As often as we like. Sometimes every night. And just pay for yourself. Sometimes in Melbourne. Hey? Sometimes in Paris. You just pay for yourself though. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Okay. Or if I'm feeling generous, I'll pay for my friend because I'm like, feels good to pay for someone else. Okay, well it's government mandated now. Number three on the list of the top six government bonuses for people who don't want kids. A government mandated tie to your house. Oh, that'd be nice. I don't have that.
Starting point is 00:23:59 You don't. But the mess there is my own. Yes. Yeah, not someone else's. You've only got your stuff to blame. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And if there's a wet towel on the floor. It's my wet towel.
Starting point is 00:24:08 That's your wet towel. Yeah. And I can pick it up and be like, just try myself with it again. Yeah, yeah, put it away. Okay, well, number two on the list of the top six government bonuses for people who don't want kids.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Government mandated loud sex whenever and wherever you want. Yeah. Can you just do that? Yeah. You can. The government doesn't just step in on that. Ideally, they don't. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Yeah. Just, like. I mean, it feels good to know that it's, the government stands by. the noises. Yeah. Oh, they love the noises. Nothing muffled here. Nothing muffled. We don't muffled. This is a bipartisan issue. Wherever they sit on the political spectrum.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Yeah. They like it loud and they like it wherever than whenever. What loud and proud. Okay. Number one on the list of the top six government bonuses, people who don't want kids. Government mandated overseas holidays are wherever you want, doing whatever you want for the entire time. Just up to you to do whatever you. It's like the ones we just went on. You don't have to accommodate anybody. The one we just went on. Kind of like the one you just went on, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:01 like bars and like late nights and stuff. None of these positive points. Didn't go to a theme park. But if we did it was because we wanted to and go on the big rides. Who do you go and watch play sport? The All Blacks. Yeah. Just like the All Blacks.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Yeah, that's it. Sometimes like the Kutasal football team. Right. Okay. Yeah. Not like. There's like so many other things. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:25 There's heaps. That's very interesting. I'll take this back to the drawing board then. Yeah. That's today's subsix. Play ZM's flesh for one. Haley. Now, do you take your dating advice, Fletch, from TikTok? No.
Starting point is 00:25:39 No? Vaughan did you? Yes. Definitely when I was dating. I just want to go and record. I was just a yes to offer a different standpoint from my colleague here. Yeah, but it wasn't true, was it? No, no. I don't go on TikTok. I mean, someone sends me a TikTok link on Instagram. And I'm like, this is weird. I'm going to have to leave this app to watch it. If I waited two weeks, I'm probably, said in reels. Yeah, well, that's where the curated guy. Definitely when I first got back out
Starting point is 00:26:08 Sproul prowling. Yeah, sprawling and my algorithm, because they listened to me, knew that I was like dating and stuff, so much dating advice came up on my, in my algorithm. For ages and ages and ages. And you start to read stuff, you're like, that's actually a really good point.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Oh, yeah, I'm going to like date in that way now. or keep that in mind the whole time. But experts are saying that it's actually making it worse for you in limiting your chances of actually finding someone because TikTok's kind of given you quite a lot of information, all of which will probably be conflicting with each other. None of which is actually expert information. It's just opinions from people that, you know, went on a date once.
Starting point is 00:26:56 And then you've wired your brain to sort of believe that this is a sort of a standard. and then you're going out with kind of an unrealistic standard, vocabulary, understanding of how the people that you're attracted to work, and you're limiting yourself to who you can meet. You're going out saying that this is a one-size-fits-all, this is all I will accept based on the information that TikTok or Instagram have given me. And you could be missing so many opportunities in people.
Starting point is 00:27:23 And you're missing all these people. And algorithms, they say that they feed what you get into. So if you linger on one piece of advice, then you're going to start getting all stuff that kind of, what's the word? Corroborates. Is that the word? Yeah. Just backs up what you already think.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Yeah. Corroborates what you've already saying. I'm going to work out to spell it. Oh yeah, okay, corroborate. Yeah, I hear you go. Why does it sound weird, though? Corroborate. Yeah, corroborate.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Corroborate. It means to confirm support a backup, a state and theory a story by providing new evidence or proof. Corroborates. You watch one piece of, you know, armchie experts, which are just online people with an opinion.
Starting point is 00:28:20 You linger on one of those, and then all of your algorithm will corroborate that opinion that if you trace it all back was never from here. anyone. They're saying armchair experts or armchair diagic, oh my God, diagnosticians. So people like...
Starting point is 00:28:38 I'm not really using some... I know. Some hard words in this situation. It's basically experts saying dating advice on TikTok and Instagram are not done by experts. And the more that you look at it, the more you get fed it, the more you go out with this belief system that's actually kind of built on bullshit. Do you know, that's not only dating. That's kind of everything, isn't it now? No, everything else on Instagram and TikTok is facts.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Oh, okay, right. It's not sort of like you engage in one sort of political view and the algorithm will be like, oh, feed them more of that. They like that. They'll start a lot longer, they'll see more advertisers and thus will be making more money. And you end up in just a rabbit hole of Echo Chambers. Healthy not to spend too much time, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:29:18 Unless you're on the Fletchhorn and Haley TikTok or Instagram page. God, we're at the moment. I was so worried about seeing Spider-Man brand-new day spoilers. I hardly went on social media. at the weekend. Because I don't want it spoiled for me. How was it? The movie.
Starting point is 00:29:32 No, no, no, no, no. Your break from social media. Yeah, right. What was the spoiler for Spider-Man? Dude, he's his hands or whatever. Yeah, yeah, he's got, he was a spider all along. He's a spoilt. He's a spoilt.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Okay, is it? Like, it rained. And is he going to go back up, down the spout? Oh, God. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Was it out. He was into wincey-wincey. That was the origin story.
Starting point is 00:29:54 It's in C-Wincy. Yeah, yeah. And he went in the rain. Clear. clear go on him and then he's a spider girl. Ninja turtles. Ninja turtles got the goo on them and they went from turtles to Teenage Mutton Ninja Turtles. Right, that's, that Spider-Man movie is smashed in the box like this.
Starting point is 00:30:08 I've got to tell you, it's fantastic. It's so good. I can't wait to watch it like next year on my TV. No. Nah, it's cinema. The movies are back, baby. I haven't seen, I don't think I've seen a Tom Holland Spider-Man. Haven't you?
Starting point is 00:30:26 No. No. What does that shock you? I thought you would have seen a Tom Holland's Spider-Man at some stage. No, no. No, I haven't seen Superman or anything like that or Spider-Man. All the men. I've seen Aquaman.
Starting point is 00:30:38 You've seen Aquaman. Of course you, of course you have. The Z&M Podcast Network. I was hoping it was going to be the history segment. Unpredictable history. Oh, did you get excited? I like that one. Oh, Vaugh.
Starting point is 00:30:53 No, we had that. It's had huge success. I remember Ajax last time. Yeah. Tough on grease. I thought about that at the weekend when I picked up spraying what. I was like, there it is. It's right there.
Starting point is 00:31:03 It was staring me in the face all this time. Well, she's got a lot to live up to. If you see a faded sign at the side of the road that says 15 miles to a Shannon's hat. Shannon's hat, baby. Producer Shannon. If you've just joined the show, Shannon is, she's a special one. and she does lots for us but one of them is she gives us hacks
Starting point is 00:31:32 You always describe me and you always use the most Like you say a horrible patronising Yeah you say a horrible adjective But you smile You always call me flighty But you smile while you say it Okay
Starting point is 00:31:42 Producer Shannon is a real bitch And Yeah you can say anything with a smile And make it seem sweet She's a complete idiot And no But she's brilliant But her hacks sometimes are a little lot
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah For reference, once she said to not get fungus on your feet in the gym shower, you should tape sanitary pads to your feet. But you know what? Look how that's stuck around. You still think about it. I still do it every time I shower at the gym. I stand by it.
Starting point is 00:32:12 I just use my jandals. Yeah, that's way easier. Where are we with our hack today? We're going to a cooking hack. Now, as you know, I only have a small apartment and very limited plates and such. I only own three bowls. So weird that it's not four, right? Yeah, I reckon it's true with their old owners.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Because it's fully furnished. So all my forks and stuff came with the place. Wait, so fully furnished includes cutlery and crockery. Yeah, everything, like my spatula, everything came with the apartment. Oh, I'm not putting a spatula in my mouth that someone else is cooked. Why are you putting a sparser in your mouth? To eat what you're cooking. How wide is your gob?
Starting point is 00:32:48 I can get a whole spatula on me. No, if I'm doing cookie, if I'm doing cookie dough, I can get a whole spatula in my mouth. Look. You're thinking wooden. You're thinking it. Go again one more time. Go again one more time. Clip that.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Clip that. In out, in out. KPI's KPI. Clip that. Do a trial reel. Do a try reel. Pavlovian response. Pavlov's dog.
Starting point is 00:33:09 He's dribbling too, just like Pavlov's dog. Stop looking up at us like that. A cooking. I'm going to make cookies today, actually. I'll send you a photo. Sorry, Shannon. What kind of cookies are we making? Why normally do my caramel milk?
Starting point is 00:33:25 Do you know? How many times it's been brought up with my girlfriend that you've got a kitchen aid mixer and she's like, what does Fletch need a kitchenade mixer for? She's jealous of my kitchen aid mixer. And then August found out you've got a kitchenade mixer and now they're talking about like, why does Fletch need a kitchen aid mixer?
Starting point is 00:33:40 Well, because I do... It was aesthetics. It's ascetics. It's great aesthetics. Yeah, it looks amazing. He doesn't... He only makes cookies when it comes to paying. I don't have a kitchenade mixer.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Neither. Yeah. I do more baking than this guy. Yeah, certainly. I don't have kids. I'm allowed to have a kitchen aid mixer. I want a kitchenade mixer. We're actually allowed to have whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:56 we want. It's so wild. It's crazy, hey. Just little care in the world, eh? Are we baking Shandog or are we cooking? We're cooking. We're talking dinner. Now, I know you guys love a little snitzel.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Dude. Oh, I love a schnitty. I'm actually in the mood, hard mood for a schnit. I'm always in the mood for a schnit. I could do a chicken parmy. Yeah, well, it's of the schnett family, isn't it? This hack works for both. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Now, isn't it such a rigmarole? Can we do silly little pole? What's your favorite? Beef, pork, pork, or chicken? Or veal. Like, pork, cutlet. Veal's very posh. That's what the crossword answer always is.
Starting point is 00:34:30 That's the meat of a calf. I'm not going thin veal. No. Chicken. Okay, so snit's a hack. So isn't it such a rigmarole? You have to get three bowls out and then you have to wash the three bowls because you need flour, egg, crumbs. My hack today is to get a piece of tin foil, quite a big piece.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Put it on your bench. You can then whisk the egg straight onto the paper. Put flour and put the crumbs. This is now a disposable It's a mess that X going to run everywhere Have you ever played at a Stensual Station? This is a completely disposable
Starting point is 00:35:05 Snickle Station. I've created A disposable slitsch station. Also I feel like you're I've struggled washing three balls Every time I made snitles I've created the ultimate
Starting point is 00:35:17 disposable smiths I only have three bowls But your bench is not broad enough I could make a snitselstall. to all my bed. I could and I've got a tiny bench. You're overestimating the runiness of an egg. It's a lot more viscous than you're remembering. No, but this is insane. The whisk will cut through the tin foil easily if you're too hard.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Do a shallow scoop. Figure it out. You can almost bowl a bitch. Look, I'm going to send you a video on the chat of someone doing this and it genuinely works and it is becoming a thing. No, it's not going to be. But I don't do it. Tintfoil. Send a video of someone in the chat doing it. It's just shatid.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Flower, bowl. Why not just have one bowl in the middle? Because then you've got two bowls. The better one is the glad bags. And you put a little bit of flour in a glad bag and you shove all your cutlets and you shake it in there. But that's wasteful. Oh, but two metres of tinfoil is not wasteful. You can't rewash like a tinfoil, but you can rewash a plastic fabric.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Cowan's on Team Studio. You've been abandoned Shannon. Look in the chat. I've seen someone genuinely doing this. And I said, this is so disappointing. Did you create the snitchel? I wanted so badly for the snitchell hacks to be good today. It's precious from the hilltops, which is my dream for the snitchell.
Starting point is 00:36:40 This idiot is made an absolute mesh. Yeah, okay, I'm just looking at this video. It's fine. The glad bag is the better hat. I will say, in this video, they've cut out the wistful. of the egg actually. Yeah, because she made an absolute mess and you know it.
Starting point is 00:36:58 No. I think the SNSeltz is a huge failure. Also, the egg is starting to run off the tin foil. You can see. You can see where it's left, and she just folds it up like that. No. No, it's a one star for me.
Starting point is 00:37:12 It's none. What? None from you. It's a nun. You came for a SNETTL, and you could have... We're actually passionate about Schnatzel. It's sure for the stars when it comes to snitch, you're sure, but don't take the piss. It's all the snitcher's all than the shallow fry, you know.
Starting point is 00:37:29 It's a one star. How many? There's so much oil for a snitcher. It's almost afterwards you need to sort of shiv it. You know, put it through a shiv to get all the excheous. A shiv. A sieve. A sieve.
Starting point is 00:37:44 You know, mess. Mets in a bowl form. Okay, yeah. Okay. That's great. How many stars are we giving you? A better hack for shenna. What do we do with this excess oil?
Starting point is 00:37:55 A tampon. Tampon. Yes, you put tampon. That's a lot of a hack. No, we've done that as a hack before you've used a tampon to get rid of the water in your mints. Yeah. It's zero. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Or just run it into the sink. Imagine, because Fletch loves to cook mints. Imagine Fletch is cooking his mints. It's leaked. It's leaked out. He's got his tampon in. There's a knock on the door. And a friend's come over.
Starting point is 00:38:18 He's come in. I'm just cooking him. mince and they go over to the bed and there's his mints with his tampon in there. Yeah, and I'm like, nothing weird about that. I'm soaking up the excess water. Yeah, and they say that's genius. People have been doing this hack for the oils and juices out of your mints.
Starting point is 00:38:32 They put like a little ramekin made of metal in the middle of the mints and you take the mints out, you pull off the little ramekin, boom, all the oils in the ramekin. Because of science. Hang on, stop adding better hacks to this terrible snitual hack. Let's focus on the primary hack of the snutzel.
Starting point is 00:38:48 It's a snitral station huge Fowler. One star. One star. One star. One star. And only because it saved us having to think of anything else to talk. And we had fun.
Starting point is 00:38:59 How do we need voice? And we snitch your station was fun to say. Can you sing the hack song like that? You are goddamn right. You're about to see some professionals at work. Stand by. Mm-hmm. If you see a failure shine at the side of the road that says
Starting point is 00:39:18 Run time, next four sand and dad. Baby. Disappointments. It's a disappointment again. Really disappointing. The ZM Podcast Network. There is something online that I find very interesting. I find it very sad that this is needed,
Starting point is 00:39:38 but we live in a world with pieces of shit everywhere. I don't know. I don't know. I've seen any lately, but they're everywhere. They're scrapping about, eh. These monsters. So this is a bracelet and also earrings available that can test to see if your drink has been spiked
Starting point is 00:39:54 with one of the known drink spike chemicals. Drugs. Yeah. So what is it? Is it like a dipstick? So it's a bracelet. And it just looks like a standard sort of steel. Steel. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Silver. That's the man in me, not knowing what the thing is. Yeah, silver. And on top, there's like a white stone looking thing in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so if you're out, in the drink you put your finger in
Starting point is 00:40:21 and put some on there and it will change colour. Could I have a little pipette? Is that what they call them? Could I take a wee pipette? Yes, you could. Now, hold on, I needed to know if pipette's the right.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Is it the right word? A pipette dropper. Like that? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. And when it sucks it up. Oh, I love that. And then you go, and you can drop it on the bracelet.
Starting point is 00:40:43 But you can just use your finger and just put a... Yeah, totally. Yeah, wow, okay. Get your finger in there. But then you wouldn't want to use your finger if these tricks. Allora. Allura.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Amor spout the American way, no you. Okay. Armour. Armour. Amor. It's who started it. It's a startup. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Yeah, yeah, you can go on like, I don't know if they did a Kickstarter, but you can click on a link and go on the wait list for when it's in production. Yeah. You can pay and have one sent to you. But yeah, isn't that a sad state of affairs that's needed? And we'll sell well because this is still a real problem. Yeah, one of their videos is watch me test. my drink in under 20 seconds.
Starting point is 00:41:20 So just at the bar, you can test it straight away. Yeah. It is funny sometimes the things that you, that you oh, it's a nice bracelet. Yeah. They would go nice in my little stack. It would look perfect. It would actually look in my little, I've got a big silver stack. Although this one you could take off at the airport
Starting point is 00:41:37 because Christ, every time I go to the airport, Haley's got to take off. Take off a jingle jingles. You're going to have to manually do me. I've gained weight since I bought this one. They don't come off. Um, it's, yes, it is a very sad state of affairs, but this would be a great thing to like buy, I hate to say it, but your children, you know, your teenagers who were going out and you're if you're going to drink, just dab it on for the safety of it.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Because I've never had my drink spike. Thank God. It is a wild, horrible experience. You had it accidentally, do you? I started to feel a bit off and I was like, I think it's time we went. I had had drinks, but not that many drinks to all of a sudden. You know how you are when you get drinks. And then just don't remember anything, really.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Oh, it's awful. Wild, yeah. And then the next stage is having this, like, chemical burn in the throat and no recollection of how I got home or anything. Yeah. It is weird sometimes you'll catch yourself. Even me now, like being older and definitely a lot more... Sagia?
Starting point is 00:42:37 I was like, yeah, I'm not the target. Should I say? Oh, I was just joking. I didn't know where you were going. No, no, no, I mean, being older, more confidence. Not so much the target, I guess, of attacks like this and maybe feeling a bit more savvy being out. But there are these like learnt habits
Starting point is 00:42:57 that you don't realise that you're doing as a woman a lot, like walking home or the text, you know, the text of I'm homes safe. Yeah, when you have your drink, even just go into the toilet, be like, can you watch my drink? And you don't even realize that you're saying it as a knee-jerk response to
Starting point is 00:43:14 so that someone doesn't drug it. Which is sad, are you? So that's an amazing invention. Somebody just messaged into the studio, 966, always encouraging participation on the show from our lovely distance. They saw nail polish that once changed colouring you just dip a nail in the drink and it would change colouring.
Starting point is 00:43:29 You'd be like, no thanks. Great idea. Tip it on the floor. Wow. And the other thing I've noticed a lot, which is also worth a shout-out, is that, you know, the angel shot? Do you guys have those in the back of your toilets? Yeah. So then you go to the toilet or see a thing.
Starting point is 00:43:40 No, the posters aren't on the toilet, but it's null. The angel shot. Yeah, if you're at a bar and someone's harassing you. or being annoying you go to the bar most bars have this and you ask the angel shot and they'll get you out of
Starting point is 00:43:52 your situation and help you know what's it call what's the race that call Alora E-L-O-R-A dot armour if you want to find them on like
Starting point is 00:44:02 social media and stuff but it's a wait list at the mind yeah yeah it's a sort of a joy like a Kickstarter like it all yeah happen yeah kind of like
Starting point is 00:44:10 better than like your spa pool dipstick yes and you're going in there and all I'm A lot of chlorine in my drink here. By the way, I'm nailing my pH in the pool this winter.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Can you come fix my pH? I'll come fix the pH. I've got a 25KG bag of baking soda. Very relatable break for everybody with some... I've got a tangy spa. Yeah. Poor management. The Z&M Podcast Network.
Starting point is 00:44:36 Play ZDM's flesh, one and haley. I want to know right now, 0800 dial ZDM, give us a little Texeruny, 966. What was your little whoopsie that you said? You had a little, you know, slip up You kind of said something you didn't mean to say Because yesterday, on my way home For my interrupted sleep,
Starting point is 00:44:55 I wanted a little coffee And I pulled in, I didn't go to my usual Because I realised about halfway That I was like, oh, I want a coffee. Pulled in somewhere, parked up, went inside And was served by a lovely gentleman. Just a lovely man Who, you know, it would fit right in with our friends
Starting point is 00:45:15 Okay, lovely. I could not make any kind of sort of assumptions about people, but there was no question in my mind that this man enjoys the company of other men. Oh, okay, wow.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Just lovely. Sometimes do you think this? That's actually dead right. Sometimes assumptions are made and they've got wives and kids. Well, I just didn't say wife or kids. Right, okay.
Starting point is 00:45:40 You know, very. I'll let you have one. You're allowed me. Very. Very. Very. and love, love, love, love. And we're having a good chat.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yeah. And he's giggling away. And then he says my name for my coffee, Hayley, and I grab it and I say, have a nice gay. And I leave. Oh, what did I have a nice gay? Oops.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Did you say, I meant day, I meant day? Yeah, I did. I was like, have a nice gay. Gay, gay, day. Have a nice day. Oh, so you hit down with a couple more gay gays. I think I said gay three times. Ah, good.
Starting point is 00:46:13 I'm like, oh, it's like, oh, it's like, in powers with the mole. Moly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly, molly. It was just like I just said, have a nice gay. Gay, gay, day, have a nice, ha ha ha, ha, leave. God. Not that he would have cared, but in terms of slip-ups, it's not that bad. And it's not that I was thinking gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, but I did. I said to a lovely gay man, have a nice gay.
Starting point is 00:46:34 And I do hope he has a nice gay. And gay. Yeah, yeah. And I just want to know those little slip-ups when you say something, it's like when someone says to you, have a nice flight. When you say you do. Always do that. Like, they scan your boarding pass and they're not leaving the airport.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Have a nice flight. You too. You too. Damn it. Well, when you're at primary school and you said, call your mom or say I love you. Oh, on the phone. Yeah, a lot of people do that. Yeah, and you're like, what about when someone says happy birthday and you say, you too?
Starting point is 00:47:04 You too. Oh, that's me every year. Hey, happy birthday. Yeah, you too. Maybe you really put your foot in it. Like, maybe you just had a little, it just came out and you went, oh my gosh. Because you're thinking it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:15 And it's just an internal thought. You're never sharing that thought. Yeah. And then you say something. It's like how I said to that woman in Paris when she said she was from L.A. And I said, well, I'm from New Zealand. She said, oh, it's so far away. I said, yeah, well, it's worth it, though, not to live in L.A.
Starting point is 00:47:26 And then move aside. And I was like, God, you insulting, bitch. It just slipped out. Yeah. What was your little vocal whoopsie? What just slipped out? Okay, 0800, dance at him as a number. You can text through 9-6-9-6.
Starting point is 00:47:39 And I want everyone to have a nice gay. Yeah. And let us know what was your little vocal whoopsie? Andy, what was your small vocal whoopsie? Hi. So I was tweeting to a couple and the man had one arm missing. Oh, yeah? And so I was a sales rep at the time,
Starting point is 00:47:56 so I'm trying to really schmooze these people. And I said about a mutual friend that we had, oh, yeah, that guy, he talked so much. He would talk your arm off. Oh! Instead of talk your ear off. Chew your ear off. Yeah, chew your arm off.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Well, what was that one arm that was gone. Oh, no. You say, I'm pulling your arm. And the whole time you... Don't say arm. Don't say arm. Don't say arm. I get it. Oh, and was it, were they okay about it?
Starting point is 00:48:28 No, not really. I just kept on getting verbal diarrhea and just say... Yeah. No. About the man who could talk so much, and then I turn into the person that talks so much. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So good. cool whoipsy? Well, I work in a call center and the amount of people that when you go to hang up
Starting point is 00:48:47 and you're like, okay, thanks for your call, bye. And they're like, okay, bye, I love you. Yes. It's just how they do love you, Zara? It's just muscle memory, yeah. How many do you reckon you've had in a day? What's your record? Well, we actually now have a jar in the office
Starting point is 00:49:01 that has like little tickets next to it and every time a customer says it, we go put a ticket in the jar. Oh, so good. That's so good. That's so good. That's so good. I love that.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Love you. Love you, Zara, thank you. Cindy, what was your vocal whoopsie? So I was going to pick up my online order and the lady come out and she only had two bags and of course I loaded them into the back of my car when I seen that there was only two bags I thought to myself, she didn't think I'm lazy.
Starting point is 00:49:28 So I said out loud, I said, there's only two bags, your lazy B word. She looked at me as if I was saying that to her so I run them back up and I was like, I'm so sorry I didn't ring you. Talked herself out loud and she thought you were like, yep, I can see out. The woman dropping off your delivery of lazy bitch.
Starting point is 00:49:48 That's so funny. Oh no, Cindy, that's so good. Thank you. Steph, what was your vocal whoopsie? Hey, I was at a family reunion and I was chatting to one of my distant aunties and she'd said that she'd just been to Sydney. She just got back and I said,
Starting point is 00:50:07 oh, how was it? and she said, oh, it was a bit of a blur, to be honest. And I was like, oh, wow, must have been an absolute rager. I totally forgotten my mum told me that her dad had died, and she had to travel home for that. And my cousin was, like, kicking me under the table. Shut up, Steph. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:28 Oh, man, you must be hung over. What a rager. Yeah, honestly, it's been like 15 years, and I replay that most days. Yeah. Most days. I love a good replay in the head. So good. Steph, so many checks.
Starting point is 00:50:41 We'll get to those next. Your vocal whoopsies, 9-696. Running out of time. I know. The lovely Patty Gower's in soon to talk peptides. And I believe he's brought some in for us to inject. So this is fantastic. I've got about 20 KGs extra on me at the moment.
Starting point is 00:50:56 And I'm hoping that his illegal peptides are going to suck it out. And my tomorrow I'll be like, shooop. Come on, Patty. Yeah. We're talking about your little vocal whoopsies after Haley Toa. a homosexual barista to have a nice gay. I actually stand by the sentiment as well. I hope he does.
Starting point is 00:51:13 Someone said I work in, I'm a healthcare worker and I work specifically with patients with cancer. I believe that's the oncology ward. And the amount of times I say, I'll get out of your hair. To a woman who's lost her head to chemotherapy, you think I know by now.
Starting point is 00:51:26 You think, yeah. You think I know by now. Hey, but what a wonderful job you do. My husband and I were meeting our 17-year-old daughter's boyfriend for the first time. She's a swim teacher and was at the dinner table. she was telling us that she was really having trouble
Starting point is 00:51:37 remembering names of all the kids. And my husband, her father, gave an example about matching a kid to one of their features like redhead Tracy or big nose Lucas. No. And Lucas was the name of our daughter's boyfriend and he did indeed have a big nose.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Now, my husband swears he just plucked two random features but undeniable. No! Daughter horrified. He'll never ever forget that. He'll never forget that? I was in an international conference and I was due to be talking about critical literacy.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Oh, okay. Where's this going? And I stood up and I said today, I'll be talking about clitoris or clitoris. Clitoris. Clitoris. Clitoris. Stop saying clorist.
Starting point is 00:52:14 And they just said it. They said 10 words, all basically clitoris. You'd want to trap door on the stage to open and you just drop and never seen again. Like, I'm moving to Mars. See you later. I volunteer. I'll see what we can grow up there. I've got to go.
Starting point is 00:52:30 I was serving communion. So we've got a man of the cloth messaging him. I love that you listen to the show just spiked. The he had the wine cup and I served a man as wine and I said the line to him. What is it? The blood of Christ. Amen. Body of Christ.
Starting point is 00:52:45 And he asked me if I was going to wipe it first as somebody else that already drank from. I looked him dead and the honest. I was like, oh, F. Yeah, sorry about that. As a man of the cloth dropped the F bomb right in front of the Lord and Savior. Goodness. Jeepers. Jeepers.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Goodness me. I once meant to ask for the Lebanese salad. Ask for the lesbian salad Yeah No, I'm not mad if a lesbian salad comes across my desk A sister-in-law went to the funeral of a relative of her boss And she said to her boss Instead of saying commiserations on your loss
Starting point is 00:53:16 She said congratulations on your loss Brought a smile to their face though they laughed about it Congratulations congratulations Play ZM's flesh-worn and Haley Well it returns tonight to TV 3 730 Patty Gower has issues He's in studio with us And even has some illegal peptides from China
Starting point is 00:53:33 This is so naughty. Good morning, Panigawa. Yeah, all for the sake of an investigation. But I ordered these. This is Retta or Retta Trutide. This is a weight loss peptide. An unapproved medicine. So for those who know,
Starting point is 00:53:48 Wagovi and Ozempic, they are also peptides, but they're fully approved. Reta sort of sits alongside them. It's in the same family, I guess. But this hasn't been through the clinical trials to get to the point where you can sell it. Does it do the same thing of like you injected
Starting point is 00:54:02 and it impacts your hormones and your appetite goes down and eat less. It does exact same thing as users will say it's more powerful and more potent. So if anybody out there knows someone on Retta and there will be lots of listeners who do know people on Retta, they'll see massive weight loss. You know, the young lady we got on the show tonight, lost 14KGs in something like three or four months. I saw the trailer.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Also, she didn't even look like she needed to lose weight to begin with. And she didn't. She admits that and that's one of the problems because I can tell you about these ones that I always, to test our borders. Yep. I went through an ad on Instagram and then I got onto WhatsApp
Starting point is 00:54:38 with a woman in China. She showed me some photos of the stuff and I ordered it and it was here within five days. So you didn't even have to say, show a photo of yourself or give a body weight or... No, nothing. Nothing. And I could have ordered...
Starting point is 00:54:53 I could have ordered 10 times what I'm holding in my hand and just tried to get it in. Is it cheaper? Is that why people... Yeah, it's cheaper. So I think, you know, the upper 400s or close to 500 bucks is what someone would pay for Wagovi. But the similar amount users tell me of RETA is about 180 bucks.
Starting point is 00:55:12 So people are being able to save money and effectively, you know, it's a cheat code. But it's not just this. There's an injury recovery one called Wolverine, which is for people with bad knees, bad backs. And there are many different kinds of pep times. I mean, the future is exciting for these things, but they need to be tested and they need to be clinical trials. There's a tanning one. Yep, there is. There's ones for hair.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Not looking at anyone in particular. Hey, mate, we've been empowered. They do. They do. It's a European summer. We're a summer. Plus, I'm very pale naturally, so they always look more tan. But yeah, there's a hair growth one.
Starting point is 00:55:48 There's a glow-up peptide. That gives you a glow-up. Like muscle recovery. You know, like the toxic part of my brain, that grew up in the 90s and it's a struggle with eating and disordered eating and weight and everything, my entire life. I know people will be listening to you right now
Starting point is 00:56:04 and everything you just said and going like, fine, I'll do it. Literally, somebody said, what's the website and someone else said, none of this sounds bad so far? Exactly. So, like, what is the warning? Obviously, you've got your GLP ones that have gone through clinical trials like Govi and those. But you've got to go on there, right, with a doctor, and say that my weight is a problem.
Starting point is 00:56:23 And there have been trials. But all of these other peptides that people are importing and have been for a while, you don't know what's in that vial. you don't, they haven't, number one, they haven't been through the trials. Number two, you're going to a manufacturer that you don't really know that they've put exactly what's in it. And if people watch tonight or on three now when Paddy Gower has issues comes out, we get some of these tested to see if they are what they say they are. Are you going to make this watch or tell us? Yeah, well, yeah, I mean, I'm happy to tell you that some of them are not.
Starting point is 00:56:55 He's he had a promoter show, Dom. Yeah. Yeah. No, but no, I mean, I'm happy to say that that some of them are not, you know, and that's, you know, and that's, you know, no real surprise that if you're importing something to China from someone who you've got no idea who it is, that you're not going to get exactly what you're told. And you only talk to them on WhatsApp so you can't hold them criminally responsible because I just ditch that from.
Starting point is 00:57:13 I mean, the crucial thing about peptides is that, you know, thousands and thousands and thousands of New Zealanders are using them already and many, many more will be soon because of the reasons you've talked about. You know, you inject these. You don't take them or anything like that. You inject these. And they go straight. into your system and if something goes wrong and you know you're you could be in trouble you've got
Starting point is 00:57:36 10 little vials in this case you've got there well it could hold 10 how long would that last for yeah this is meant to be like a couple of months and someone would mix this themselves with the bacterial static water and then inject these themselves yeah but people you know like you say people are desperate for weight loss people are desperate for injury recovery and that's where that's where this is coming in and it's a lot cheaper than the stuff you're going to get for from the doctor. In terms of what we're talking about here, and you guys have really got on to it quickly,
Starting point is 00:58:06 you know, we have got a massive, massive issue coming for this country from the stuff that I'm holding in my hand. And it's also the teenage boys are, like there was a story last week's GPs in New Zealand are seeing teenage boys coming in, trying to look smacks,
Starting point is 00:58:20 using peptides and getting like injuries and they're just like, what's happening here? Because it's fast. We just want fast day. Yeah, I think the best word is, you know, one of the women using it tonight.
Starting point is 00:58:31 said it's a cheat code. Yeah. It's a cheat code to the things that people want to look good, to be skinnier. And, you know, the key word in that is cheating. You know, that cheating always comes with problems. Yeah. I want to hit a bit. Do you talk to anyone who's tried, like, so you talk to women who's used the weight loss
Starting point is 00:58:51 peptides. Do you talk to people who have used these other ones? Yeah, so we've got someone tonight who uses Wolverine, and she had had three terrible ACL injuries, and she has made a complete recovery. And she swears by people. It's called Wolverine named after the character Wolverine who has the automatic healing power.
Starting point is 00:59:10 But that's the thing. That's why it is such a fascinating subject, doesn't it? Because the future using these is like legit. It is exciting, but like it needs to be done properly. Totally. Like if you're, yeah, but then you can also see how people have injuries and they're like, well, what's my other option waiting? I've tried everything.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Yeah. am I going to limp around for the rest of my life? Or am I going to give this a crack? Yeah. And it's that kind of desperation that leads people to want to try these things. But you only get one life. I don't know what I'm injecting into me, you know. You don't want to be the person in five years' time and they said, hey, no one should have been injecting this stuff.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Yeah, yeah. Remember smoking was good for you? Yeah, yeah. If you're living with chronic pain. No, totally. And I'm not. So I don't understand the desperation. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:55 But I get the, I get people going, I want to lose a bit of weight. I get some messages in. Someone said, I can't quite understand. Is Patty warning me not to do this or should I be doing it? Because Wolverine sounds awesome. Yeah. And I think that's the big problem with this, isn't it? That people will listen.
Starting point is 01:00:12 And despite all of the warnings that you're going to put out, people will start to think, hey, I want to have a crack at these. And, you know. What is the government doing? Because obviously there is a future in peptides if it's done properly. But are they like, is there research happening? The government's made them illegal. As far as I can see, no one has actually been done for them yet by MedSafe.
Starting point is 01:00:35 But they've got a big problem because the kind of people importing these are not criminals per se. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They're quite ordinary people. So do you really want to go and throw the book at some bloke down in Hamilton who's got a crook knee and just wanted to get better so I can run around with his kids? Not really. And so many people are importing them. And I think the bigger issue will be so many people will use them.
Starting point is 01:00:58 and if we have some kind of crackdown on them and people don't want to come forward to their GP and say, hey, I'm losing too much weight because I've got addicted to using this rhetoric or hey, I've got these problems, but I've been on Wolverine. If people don't come forward, then we're going to have some hidden health issues as well.
Starting point is 01:01:15 So a really, really complex issue for the government to deal with, a massive issue. Patty, we have to let you go. That is fascinating. This sounds like the substance. You know, the movie will do anything for beauty. The Debbie Moore. The Demi Moore one.
Starting point is 01:01:29 But we were just saying, like, people have been doing this since the beginning of time, right? No. That's right. Elixis, health elixes and all kinds of, you know, snake oil. Yeah. Yeah, it's feeding into all these things like Botox, Viagra, weight loss drugs.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Have you got any of that? Pepp time. Yeah. Is it a good at a go? Yep time for the dinner. I don't have the kids this week. Let's do it. Oh, Patty, I'm so excited.
Starting point is 01:01:56 I can't wait. I'm watching tonight. Yeah, okay, well, Paddy Gower has issues returning to 3.730 tonight. If you can't watch that, it'll be on 3 now. Yes, 3. Yeah, watch it on 3 now. It'll be coming out on stuff and on socials as well. Amazing, Patigawa, thank you so much. The ZM Podcast Network.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Play ZM's Fletch, Forne and Haley. I need you. And I'm going to need you to be... Me? Good friends, both of you. Oh, God. I'm going to need you to be kind, honest, but glowing. Because...
Starting point is 01:02:26 Honest and glowing, that's how I describe myself. Do they not go hand in hand? Honest and glowing when it comes to me. Because I mentioned this. Oh my God, we had it yesterday. We were like, holy shit, it's like August, right? The year is going on, going on, going on. And I mentioned this before, but I've promised two people.
Starting point is 01:02:43 One of whom is my brother and one of whom is a dear friend of mine, that I'll be their marriage celebrant. And on my to do list, which is not getting to done, I've got to renew my licence. I let it lapse. And not renew it. apply for a whole new marriage celebrants license. Well that seems
Starting point is 01:02:59 ridiculous when you were one. I know just because I just didn't want to do them anymore. It was too much pressure. And now I've been asked to do it again and... Even though love is dead? What does that cost to become a marriage celebrant? Because I'm in a couple hundred, a few hundred, a few hundred I think from memory. If we're talking about licenses, I wanted to redo my
Starting point is 01:03:17 gun licence. It was like 700 bucks. Okay, let's go tit for tat because for that you also need a reference. I do. I didn't need a reference that I'm of sound mind. Yes. I'm not signing my name to that. No, that laugh was too much. Sound mind. I don't think you'll find a single person fletch.
Starting point is 01:03:35 No one in the gaggle. No one's... No listeners. No. He's wincing as he smiles. Well, last time I did it, it was before I kind of knew you, I think. And then I got, you have to have references from people that can talk to your ability to hold court. and take charge of something
Starting point is 01:03:57 and be an entertaining celebrant and all that kind of stuff. And I think that you two would be the best to vouch for me. Right. As someone who is competent, can do the job, will turn up and get it done, we'll be able to file the paperwork. What about Dr. Shawnee? Our friend Dr. Shawnee, he'd be a great reference
Starting point is 01:04:18 because he's a doctor and people just look at it. Bad news Brad's Justice of the Peace. Actually, he would be a good one. He'd be a good one, but I think Bad News, Brad, having seen my show up in Fongare, front row on Saturday, I think he's sort of questioning. He got splash sign. I actually had to turn one of my actouts around.
Starting point is 01:04:37 Because you didn't want to expose yourself to a semi-clothed. And the innuice was facing bad news, Brad. And I just couldn't have it. So I think, I won't ask. You don't put that on that. Lovely, innocent boy. I just sort of thought maybe you'd give me some examples of what you'd say in my reference. It sounds like a lot of work.
Starting point is 01:04:53 work for me. Well, it would just be like two pages of like... Two pages. To what are you? That's... He's held. ...and and wonderful, charming and funny and capable of Alco Star Haleas. Is that two pages collectively or two pages each?
Starting point is 01:05:09 I think it's two each. Like a nice full written reference. Wait, it doesn't have to be that long. Are you kidding? No, it's like... No, it's. I think it's a page. I think it's a page.
Starting point is 01:05:16 A page? Can I double space my page and also do a big font? Do it in Jester, so it's all curly and big. And big. No, it has to be quite a serious thing. This is all on you, because if I don't have good references... I'm busy today, so... Well, this is a thing.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Time's ticking, I need to get it. I need to apply this week. So can I count on you? Yeah, you can count on me. I'll write a glowing review. I'll come around you, show me how to write the review, and then I'll do your hedges. I'm not doing that shit. I feel this is lose-lose for me at this point.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Also, mine's going to be full of those really long hyphens. Because I'm going to use AI to write it. No, you can't AI. They know these things. Not if I ask AI to take it all the long hyphins. My leader of recommendation is going to be Go back in your files, she was one before.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Yeah. She did fine. Stupid government departments. Can you write that on my gun license too? Joe, I'm not going to sign your gun license. Guys, I just want a gun. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flashworn and Haley.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Fact of the day, day, day, day. Day day. Retronymes are today's a today's a retronymum is now. It's a word that is invented for something that already exists. What are you doing about one? Might I introduce you to electric, sorry, acoustic guitar? Oh yeah. Or snail mail.
Starting point is 01:06:53 landline. Oh yeah so it's already a thing but then you're adding a thing. Well it's already a thing and there only were acoustic guitars. Right. Until the electric guitar came along. There was already a phone and then there was a mobile phone. Bingo. So one became the landline. Mail was the only way until email came along and then to make the difference between email and so you'd say, oh mail to you. Yeah. Are you going to email it to me or are you going to... Or facsimile. Snail mail it to me. Yeah. So it's where, uh, it's a new phrase to invent something to describe the original version of something when a newer one comes along.
Starting point is 01:07:28 That's cool. It was coined by Frank Mankiewicz, president of the NPR National Public Radio. Yeah. Who make an amazing series of podcasts. No. NPR. Oh, yeah, yeah. You can listen on I heart.
Starting point is 01:07:43 Can you? Do you just make that up? I just made that up. I made that up. Don't lie to our listeners. You know, fact check that. I made that up. His favorite example is natural turf, which no one needed until artificial turf.
Starting point is 01:07:53 Because turf is turf. Here are some other examples. World War I. Oh yeah, it was just a war. It was just a war. The war. The Great War. Cloth diaper.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Didn't need the word cloth. No. Until disposable nappies came along. Silent film. Oh, you can listen to NPR podcast on IHeart Radio app. So I'll take a KPI. Just for me. Retroactively.
Starting point is 01:08:20 You're not getting an apology. No, I don't think it wants an apology. lying to the listeners and I wasn't. No, he was just fact-checking. You were fact-checking. It was fact-checking for the integrity of the show. I stand by it. Silent film.
Starting point is 01:08:31 No one caught, everyone just called it films. It's a noisy film. Yeah. It was the only way until... Hardcover book. Because all books were hard covers until paperbacks came along. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Regular coffee. Just a regular coffee for me, thank you. You'd just say a coffee before all that. And now I say Moccault. What a mock coffee. Decafo and all of that. Yeah, I say iced open of latte sometimes with a squirt of maple. And driving a manual transmission.
Starting point is 01:08:57 That's driving. It was just driving with a, you know, just driving. Manual being the opposite of auto. A gear box. That's a good fact. That's a good fact. So today's our word nerd retro retronyms are a word
Starting point is 01:09:10 invented to describe the original version of something when a newer version comes along and steals its name. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day, do-d-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-dip-dood-dib to-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-dood-doo. The Z-M Podcast Network. Play Z-Ns, Flesh, Forne and Haley.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Let's, I want to know from our lovely listeners about your holiday flings. Maybe it ended up being something more or maybe it was a one night, absolute joyful occasion in this small town of Piavi de Teko with a knee surgeon called Gregorio. Who, if you've seen my show. Was he a knee surgeon? He was a knee surgeon. He did prosthetics. I didn't, I don't think I ever knew that he was a knee surgeon. And a musician, and he sung to you. And he sung to me. For the knee. Like little implants and stuff. Like knee replacement stuff. Yeah, little plastics. Right. And that was your Italian fling. That was my little Italian fling last year.
Starting point is 01:10:10 Yeah, Haley Spround.com, she talks about this in her stand-up show. It's very funny. Yeah, New Plymouth this weekend. But that was a little holiday fling with an Italian man. Well, I'm not the only one. There was a woman sharing she at 64 years old. She had a first ever holiday fling in Sicily with Ricardo, who was 67. So was she from overseas?
Starting point is 01:10:34 She is from, good question. And she's, I'm assuming, post-pray gap. The UK. UK, post-kids, post-marriage, everything, took herself on a little eat-pray love. Sicily got there and she met the beautiful, was visiting friends in Katania in Sicily and met a man named Ricardo. Met at a birthday party and they just got on and chabella. You've done them dirty there.
Starting point is 01:11:02 Ricardo. I met Ricardo. Met Ricardo. She said her stomach flip. Her midlife defence is melted Oh Could you imagine Christine going away on an Italian sojourn solo And meeting a
Starting point is 01:11:17 Nah, not with that Ian Yeah but if Ian wasn't around If Ian wasn't around Nah Nah She's a huge World War II fan Right Yeah
Starting point is 01:11:41 She could be traveling anywhere Vietnam Vietnam Hasn't forgiven them For the Vietnam Or hasn't forgiven them for World War II either My mom's old She'll go there
Starting point is 01:11:51 So this woman right She went Traveling around with Ricardo For a couple of weeks He rented a private villa for them She had a full summer fling So Celaine summer fling And then it was time to go home
Starting point is 01:12:05 And that was it And then that's it And Ricardo paid for everything. Ricardo paid. She has been a smoking hot 64 year old. She must be. One of those 64 year olds that doesn't look at. She's not some Ming a British 64 year ago in there.
Starting point is 01:12:18 He said, oh right, Riccaday. She said it was a win. It was such a win. Okay, well this is... Oh my God, I lie. She's going back to Katania to meet with him in September. Oh, wow. Okay, well, this is what we want to know.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Whether it is a one-time thing, whether it ended up being... Because this is how, you know, we end up with all these How did you move to bloody Norway? Or how did you end up in New Zealand? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I fell in love with a Kiwi girl. 0,800, dance at him as a number.
Starting point is 01:12:45 Give us a call. You can text through 9-6-96. We want to hear all the juicy details about your summer flings. My ex had a fling while working in Thailand. Technically not on a holiday, but it was a fling. He did come home with Chlamydia and is now my ex. Okay. Yeah, wow.
Starting point is 01:13:00 We'd like to hear from him. Really, this isn't your topic. Yeah. He rings. and talking about the... Technically, this is out of your jurisdiction. This is out of your jurisdiction. But again, we always appreciate.
Starting point is 01:13:10 Even if you are listening right now and never had a holiday fling, just let us know that you can't participate at this phone in 9-6-9-6. Thank you. You've got to have a holiday fling. I'm wearing next to nothing. It's hot.
Starting point is 01:13:21 My husband... I've had a spritz. Oh, okay. No, just check it. My husband and I met over a weekend romance in Rome. We had a long-distance relationship after we both got back from overseas. He now lives in New Zealand
Starting point is 01:13:34 and together for 12 years in marriage. for two. He's an Aussie. I'm a Kiwi. I was going to say is he a Roman, as he a Romanese? But no, he's... Is he not Roman langus? Also, these people that go all the way to Europe and meet an Australian or another Kiwi? I know. Come on, you're in Europe. I know. Have you seen how hot people are there?
Starting point is 01:13:50 I have. She has. She was there too. I was there as well. I lived in London, had a one-night stand with my brother's friend at my brother's wedding. Turned into a raunchy one week stand. One year later, moved to New Zealand, 11 years later, two kids are house and a business. Perfect. I love that. That'll take the spark out of it.
Starting point is 01:14:07 Yeah, that'll suck any joy out of it. Holidaying and Rarotonga and I met an Italian dive instructor and figured it was time to end the toxic relationship I had at home immediately. Need I say more? Yes. Sometimes it takes an Italian diving structure. It does. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:22 Does he dive? Is he good at diving? Yeah. We've got a paddy certificate. Oh, that's good. He's a month certificate as well. Yeah. Oh, Vaugh.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Well, there was no need for that. No. I just, I think. When we had a man of the cloth listening before He's not going to be listening now He's gone now He won't get it He doesn't know what muff diving is
Starting point is 01:14:40 No he doesn't It's been too long Well no it's never happened If he's a man of the cloth Depending on what cloth It's the best cloth If it's the Cadlet cloth He's never dived in the
Starting point is 01:14:51 Goodness mate Okay into the oceans Go ahead I met my husband In a dingy bar crawl in Prague Nine years later married Of three kids I've dragged him to New Zealand
Starting point is 01:14:59 Yes I shagged a French I shagged him I shagged him I shamed him I shamed I shagged a French guy in China. He ended up with bite marks all over my inner elbow.
Starting point is 01:15:09 Okay. From inner elbow to inner elbow, hard to tell a series of lies when everyone asked why I had it. Did he go from elbow up the arm across the deklahish? It must be a French thing. And then back down the... I think it's what they call French kissing. That's why they should stick to diving.
Starting point is 01:15:24 Well, this actually sort of ties in quite nicely. If you are... Can confirm... Just on our Italian dive instructor in our retirement. Can confirm fantastic at diving. Great at holding his breath. Oh, yeah. So no more.
Starting point is 01:15:35 That's the Patty certificate, isn't it? Well, if you are heading out to a date, be it in Italy or France or in New Zealand. Tiquuitti? Tiquiti. Men, you might be a bit worried about what to wear, and you're not alone on that. What should men be wearing on their first dates? It's next. ZM.
Starting point is 01:15:53 The ZM Podcast Network. ZM's Fletchpoint and Haley. Now, when you go out on a hot day, oh, you're not really dating, are you? Can't be bothered. No. Tired. Yeah. Can't be bothered. Well, when you take your fresh new girlfriend out on a date for him, how do you decide what to wear?
Starting point is 01:16:16 In the early days, because now you're probably deep enough. Now you couldn't give a shit. No, I don't think I ever gave it. I was always just a T-shirt and jeans. T-shirt and nice jeans. Nah, just whatever jeans. Just whatever jeans? Well, I think when I started seeing around, he had one pair of jeans.
Starting point is 01:16:33 Now I have a grand total of two pairs of jeans. Right. One black, one blue. Well, there's a great thread in which men have been sharing how they choose what to wear on a first date. Some of them have been reflecting on this and getting advice because one guy went on a day in a jacket that was so new that it squeaked every time he reached for his drink. That it was like so stiff. It was like a... Was it like a pleather?
Starting point is 01:16:58 Like a pleathery jacket. Oh no. You know. And he said after that. He needs more consideration. Right. So overdressing, they believe, on this thread, they've come to a few conclusions. Overdressing reads as anxiety, not effort.
Starting point is 01:17:12 So if you've turned up looking to overdress, they're going, we think that that comes across as a bit desperate. Okay. As opposed to I'm making an effort. So if you're wearing something, they say three notches above your usual. So for you guys, you're a t-shirt cap and pant. Yeah. Three notches above would be sports, sports coat, shirt, slack and a nice loafer.
Starting point is 01:17:39 I don't even own those, Haley. Whereas I think two notches. A loafer. Yeah, whereas two notches above is the perfect. So for you as T-shirt pants cap, I'd say two notches would be nice t-shirt, maybe a shacket. Okay. A nice jean and a clean sneaker. Right.
Starting point is 01:17:57 That's the perfect mark. But if you're already that as your base level, then you can go two notches above and be a bit. high dress. I don't want to go on a date with someone and they can expect me in this all the time and that's not how I dress. Yeah, yeah, I think that's false advertising. Take me at my t-shirt and jeans. You don't deserve me at my Beyonce if you can handle it me in my slobalance.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Yeah, right. You'll see me once or you're in a suit and that's it. One guy said make sure that you temperature check the outfit that you're wearing. So say you're going this whole outfit relies on a shirt underneath a jacket. Yep. And that's the look. And then you're getting into a restaurant and it's hot.
Starting point is 01:18:31 One man said he turned himself into his own personal sauna That was trapping But that the shirt that he wore underneath Was not acceptable to wear without the check You know what I mean? It was a layering piece So he had to sit there the whole night just sweltering So temperature check is a good one Context blindness is a thing that men say they often suffer from
Starting point is 01:18:55 So where are we going on the day and dressing to the occasion? one man went straight from the office so he was wearing dress trousers and his shirt and everything and his date was in a pub and he looked like an absolute idiot I think the through line here is just a bit of thought maybe give it a bit of a test Play ZDM's Fletch Vaughan and Haley There's been a situation pop-up online
Starting point is 01:19:18 where people are ratting out their friend because she makes them put their shoes in plastic bags before they get in her car now I'm not saying take the shoes off and put it She puts the plastic bags over the feet, over each leg foot. Yeah. Now, even if it's not, even if the shoes, I can understand if you had really muddy shoes,
Starting point is 01:19:34 this is quite a genius little hack. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Have a little roll of bags or something if you're a farm worker or something. But you could be getting into the car with clean shoes or boots, and she will make you put each one in a plastic bag. She doesn't want any muck dragged in from the outside because she's quite particular. And she's a bit of a germaphobe. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:54 Quite like the little pool of gravel I have by my house. feet. Me too. You know? Gravel in dirt and grass and stuff. Every now and then I'll drop something and I'll reach down and I'll be like, oh it's like I'm digging for treasure down there. Yeah, there's a whole lot. While I'm looking for my lozange. Sometimes a little nuggy. Yeah, sometimes a fry. Excuse you? Oh, no, I think you meant a nuggy of poo. No, you meant a chicken nugget. Chicken nag. A tail end of a couple of fries. You know.
Starting point is 01:20:17 Yeah. Because you can run someone over and it's bumped it out of your hand and it's gone into the passenger well, the foot well. Yeah. I hope you didn't spill your sauce. No, well, I've got a source holder in that situation. But, you know, they're saying it's her little germaphobe habit. And I know people do have these sorts of habits.
Starting point is 01:20:35 Like, yeah, I mean, because it can be OCD, can't it? It can. And that's like, seriously, I really dislike when someone just has a weird habit. And they're like, you know me, OCD. And then you see people who are actually struggling with OCD. Yeah, yeah. And who struggle just day-to-day being able to, like, function. Because of their obsessive compulsive disorder.
Starting point is 01:20:52 Yeah, I mean, I don't really have, I'm not a hand-sanitiser person. I'm not a... No, I'm just. grubby. I'm quite grotchy. I mean, we talked about pressing the pedestrian crossing buttons. I'll do it with the back of the hand and stuff, but I mean, if you have to use the fingers, I'll hold escalators sometimes.
Starting point is 01:21:06 I try not to. Yeah. I don't wash my hands before I eat dinner most of the time. But you see some people that'll like pull their sleeves up if they're at the ATM. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I love a knuckle press on the ATM. Yeah, maybe that's one of your germaphobe habits. Yeah, I think it's just become a habit though. Yeah. Do you take wipes and wipe down the
Starting point is 01:21:25 supermarket try? before you use them? If there's wipes, I'll give them a wine. Got the other day in my crowd, did we talk about this on air or just behind the scenes? A guy in my audience in Christ, which was chewing gum, so I took it out of his mouth and I put it in mine. Weird, eh.
Starting point is 01:21:40 What did the crowd say? They laughed. I don't think they were laughing at me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's manky. Like, yuck, yuck. You can call on through our phone and tomorrow. What stupid thing did you do and automatically got sick?
Starting point is 01:21:52 Yeah, because I was sick on the Monday, wasn't I? You were sick. Okay, 0800 Dahls at him. Call us. Text us, 9-696. What's your germaphobe habit? So we asked you, what's your little germaphone habits? So message is in on it.
Starting point is 01:22:04 Nick says it, oh, is it with do it once over the toilet seat with toilet paper? Even if it's absolutely clean, even I'm at a friend's house at my own. Just a little white. I think it's the trauma of public toilets through the ears. Yeah, although that's not going to do anything if anything's on there, is it? You've got to give it a actual, use an antibacterial. You'd probably be better to take around a little packet. You're kind of putting your hand closer to it.
Starting point is 01:22:25 I just hover. You do a hover. Not at a friend's house, I'll sit, but I'll just hover. Great quad strength. Well, I always, if I'm going to sit, I'll always give the toilet seat a wipe. Just in case there's any sort of like mystery liquid that I can't see with the naked eye. And then it also provides a splash pad for a poo. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:43 Oh yeah, yeah, because then you put in your wad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love a pad. Stephanie, we asked this on Instagram too. Some responses. No outside clothes are worn if I'm on the couch or in bed, ever. Okay. I'll change into PJs.
Starting point is 01:22:58 So she won't sit on the couch. In her day clothes. Get home. But what do you do when you get home? You just need a quick little couch. God, you won't sit on the couch in her dirty clothes. Do you think she has a quick kitchen table? If she's going to do her sitting.
Starting point is 01:23:11 She needs to sit somewhere to eat. Maybe, yeah. She's going to sit down to the kitchen table. Oh, God, my couch is filthy. That's the joy of the couch to be able to sort of mush into it, you know? And one day you're bissol it or spot clean it. And the water's really dirty. And you're like, oh, my God, the monster.
Starting point is 01:23:24 I'm terrible. Lauren said walking on streets in New Zealand Shoes can remain on inside Walking on streets overseas shoes off Yeah we've got this They're grubbier overseas aren't they Although I'm saying that just anywhere with cars and trucks Yeah
Starting point is 01:23:40 Yeah I went into a shoes and doorhouse the other day And I felt really wrong A shoes and doorhouse I'm not I don't like it Because your shoes off inside I mean unless I'm like running around to Well I'm shoes off now that I've done renaos New carpet
Starting point is 01:23:54 And it's lighten But I'll put my shoes on inside maybe and quickly go somewhere, but if someone's like mucking around my house and shoes. You know what? I've said it before I hate when someone arrives and as they come in with their shoes and say, our shoes are okay? Because I've put the ball in your court to be the bad guy. I'm not. No, we're a shoes off
Starting point is 01:24:09 household. T-hay Modi order. Yeah. Absolutely not. Shows off regardless. No. There's an order to washing myself in the shower. I always go arms. Yeah. But is this a germapobe habit? Or it's just a torso. Yep. Pits.
Starting point is 01:24:25 Legs, genitals, then feet. I'm always quite eager to get into the genital washing. Yeah. You know what I mean? I'm always in the arms because it's sort of, you pick it up and there it is. But I'm quite quick to get to the genies. Genitals, arms, torso, genitals, pits, genitals, legs. Genitals, genitals, then feet and genitals.
Starting point is 01:24:48 Not too much because of the pH. Right, you've got to be careful. Yeah, external only. You've got to be careful. Get a water on there. And always finish with a final rinse, genitals. Victoria, I always read. rinse out a cup before drinking, no matter whose house
Starting point is 01:24:57 I'm at. Oh yeah. First one. No. First one goes. No, but I always rinse out a cup because I don't know if it's still got a bit of dishwasher residue in it. At work, yes. But at home, I'll just get a glass because they'll literally put them from the dishwasher into the... I don't know, sometimes because I'm like, could have dust. Could be a bit dusty.
Starting point is 01:25:16 No. Yeah, I am. I'm sort of... It's like half full out. Well, thanks for wasting planet's resources. Give it a bit of a little down it goes. Sam says, any, When I'm dealing with raw chicken, I double wash everything. Yeah. And I go through, like, different spoons for different stages of the chicken cook.
Starting point is 01:25:33 So you've got your spoon for raw. You've got your spoon for part-cooked. Oh, yeah. You got your spoon for sort of the tail end of things. I just use the same spoon all the way through. Because it's cooking the spoon at the same time. That's if you leave the spoon in. Yeah, I leave the spoon in.
Starting point is 01:25:45 I thought about that with tongs yesterday when I was doing a batch of chicken. I was like, these tongs probably need to wash because they touch it when it's raw and then they touch again halfway and touch again in the end. I thought about this about barbecue tongs. Like when you're on the barbecue You've got your chicken on the barbecue You're flipping it And then you're flipping your veggies And stuff with a bit of then
Starting point is 01:26:00 I'm like are the tongs getting hot enough to kill I always leave the tongs hanging over the flame for a bit Yeah, just get rid of it Sizzle it off yeah Yeah I do not eat and cannot eat food When I don't know how or where it was prepared If there's a shared lunch
Starting point is 01:26:14 I'm just like It's not me Really? It's not for me I don't know the state that your kitchen's And you can't be bringing that food to work Yeah I guess so
Starting point is 01:26:20 You don't have a council Certification But they won't go to a restaurant No, they know those have got A grade. They're probably checking that it's an A. They're into, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or they're going through and inspecting the kitchen before they eat. Can I just have a quick close?
Starting point is 01:26:33 Can I just have a quick? Do they're doing their own, inspection. The ZM Podcast Network, play ZM's Fleshhorn and Haley. The lovely Bryn Rundkin from the newsroom joins us. You're going to have to go on another Mike, Bryn. Oh, go on that one. Sorry, Brinney. Oh, is that one good?
Starting point is 01:26:52 The studio's falling apart to it. Yeah, there we go. It's what reflected really are. A busy morning for you in the newsroom, Brim, we've had a lot of bad weather on the country. In fact, in... Wellington, people are saying it's snowing.
Starting point is 01:27:04 No. But it's a soft hail. Yeah, it's the step before that. I've been to Wellington when it's proud once. It's incredible. Grouple, not quite sleep. Grouple, I think it's called. Sort of a soft hail.
Starting point is 01:27:16 As a... It's a snowy. A bit of slurry in Christchurch as well in some parts. Oh, goodness me. It's going to be a cold couple of days. Yeah. Here we are just in our t-shirts. Producer Shannon said you look like you're in a press conference
Starting point is 01:27:28 because you've got two microphones. Oh, thank you. Now, Bryn joins us for a segment we call Not Enough for the News News. All the news stories that weren't quite enough for the main news bulletin that Brin brings us every morning. Yeah. Didn't have time this morning. Had all the weather news.
Starting point is 01:27:44 Yes. I think these are important stories that need to be shared. Okay, well, let's get into it. Kielder, good morning. I'm Brin Rudkin. Brisbane-based Scooter the Beagle. is feeling very silly after he demolished an entire family bag of jelly snakes.
Starting point is 01:28:03 Oh, Scooter. Woofing the whole thing down in record time, leaving his sister very jealous. Jelly snakes. His owners noticed he became hysterical and was snaking around on the floor before Scooter's pooper shooter. Rapidly shot the jelly from his belly and all over the floor.
Starting point is 01:28:23 A pooper shooter. I love that. It was a rough day for all involved, and his owners absolutely hit the woof. I saw the photo of the aftermath. It was insane. Did he poop? A mountain of jelly.
Starting point is 01:28:39 Did he poop it? He pooped and spooked. Pooped and spooked. Wow. Scooter tried to come with an excuse as to why he ate the jelly snakes, but it didn't have any legs. Oh, that's good. That's good stuff.
Starting point is 01:28:53 Haley's back. Haley is back. Haley's back. We've got the story, we've got jokes, great delivery, hit the woof was great. And that was the end of the story. We haven't, we don't need to add anything more. No, we're going to need it a couple more.
Starting point is 01:29:05 Are you taking notes on? I'll say story three, I think drags on a bit. All right, to New Jersey now with an unbelievable story where Dunnellan police branched out in the way they caught texting drivers, literally. They dressed up as shrubs and trees on the side of the road and caught 74 texters with this cutting hedge technology. Oh, yes, that's very nice.
Starting point is 01:29:30 I can see why she's got sell-out comedy shows on the country. It's good. Wrote a movie too, didn't I? Yeah, you did. The idea was originally shrubbed off by their boss. Shrubbed off. That's good, I like that. But after such success in high numbers of texters,
Starting point is 01:29:45 they're leafing it in their arsenal. So put your phone down, don't hedge your bets, or you might just be ambushed. Yeah. Really good, Hayley. You've left me stumped. Oh, hey! Let's go to get another one in.
Starting point is 01:29:59 All right, we'll leave it then. No, you already used that one. We've gone back for another one. All right. Traveling to Vietnam now, where a 43-year-old man is recovering after Vietnam's first donor penis transplant, one of five successfully done in the world. Wow.
Starting point is 01:30:16 Big shoes to fill for the surgeon. And the receiver is probably hoping the donator had big shoes too. I didn't think it needed that. I think it was clever enough. It was double down to big shoes. Yeah. It was a hard-fought transplant.
Starting point is 01:30:32 There we go. Rock hard. Yeah. Didn't need rock hard from being critical? Yeah, I'm being, yeah, double. It's worse. As the number of donors was limited and with many possible complications,
Starting point is 01:30:45 he's in for a shlong recovery. It's good, it's good. He doesn't bores it up. Oh, yeah, that's good. That's good. That's good. However, he is said to be happy with his new member and is Willie excited to put it to good use.
Starting point is 01:31:00 Oh, yeah, good. That's a good one. You've done well here, Haley. It's not finished. Yeah, sorry. I've done a Vaughn here. He said his pain level was a 4-E out of 10. A 4-E out of shit.
Starting point is 01:31:13 That's actually really good. It's really good. And his doctors had given him plenty of info, not just the tips. Oh, yeah, that's good. That's good. One more. He's quietly. confident, definitely not cocky.
Starting point is 01:31:25 Yeah, that's good. Well done. Thank you. Yeah, really well read, Bryn. It just felt natural. Three great stories. Yeah. I feel like I've been shafted. Yeah, there we go. There he's. There he is. There he is. Yeah. It's great. It sort of works better this way, I think. It does. Yeah, it does. No. No. No. No to do it next time I'll be put to the testicle.
Starting point is 01:31:44 That's good. Well, why don't you write these jokes when you do the news? Because I'm scared I live in private. I don't go into pubic. So they're just like, this is funny. That was really good. This is like funnier. And then when he writes the script to Brin, go to the song. Go to the song. It's so bad. I want to have to write it down rather than just saying it.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Gosh. Thanks. Lovely to have you in Brin. Oh, I turned them on. That's okay. He said always a pleasure. Is that the podcast done? Because I'm blasting for a poos.
Starting point is 01:32:08 Busting for a poos. Jesus. Give us a review. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
