Starting point is 00:00:00 From the ZM Podcast Network. This is... Fleshwon and Haley's Big Pod. Thanks to animates, making happy happen for pets. Happy Friday, Fletch Fawn and Haley. We've got Free Fuel this morning on the show at 8 o'clock. Thanks to BP rewards.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Bloody gas and everything. Can't avoid it. So, yeah, free fuel at 8 o'clock this morning. I've only got the top six. Yeah, this is sad news. Apprentices are at a 15 years. year low. Numbers wise. These are people who are getting into the trades who do their
Starting point is 00:00:34 apprenticeships that are on the drop training with a bit of paperwork on the side. 15 year low. What's everybody doing? Are they just moving straight to Ozzy, I reckon? 15 year low of having apprentices. Yeah. Oh my God, we always talk about this. That when we were at school, they were like, don't go into the
Starting point is 00:00:51 trades. And it's a massive regret. Huge regret. For their amazing skills. Yeah. Well, earning a lot more money. Yeah. You know, without apprentices, a whole lot of jobs aren't getting done. So I've got the top six signs, your tradie doesn't have an apprentice. It's coming up soon in the top six, but next on the show.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Now, first we need to talk about a bit of a Kmart jup that everyone's going crazy for, and then addressing the fact that your smart watch might not actually be that smart. Stats could be well off. The ZN podcast network. I, okay, this is $29, but I tell you what, already don't bother. Rush into your phones, your laptops. It's sold out. New Kmart jup.
Starting point is 00:01:30 We love these. bloody well. They do them so good. The jupes. The jupes. This is a, oh, it's $39 in New Zealand, smart ring, and it is the dupe of the aura rings that Georgia wears one of these.
Starting point is 00:01:45 She does. It's a smart health fitness tracker, in a ring form, has an app. Got a smart watch, does it do anything that a smart watch doesn't? I don't know what the aura does, other than make your fingers look chunky. They're not for me. They're not sexy, are they?
Starting point is 00:02:01 All my rings are like silver, sort of, you know, stolen girlfriend. And then this thing's like, it's just a plain ring. It looks like a, you know how electrician men wear those, like, silicon rings so that they don't get electrocuted? I didn't know that. So, like, wedding rings. I just probably wouldn't wear a ring if I was an electrician. No, no.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Yeah, but then all the horny housewives are hitting on your husband. Wait, so you're telling me that electricians and tradies put silicon rings on their wedding finger. To signify, oh, bloody taken. back on? No, they don't. Yes, my best friend's husband was a, he's not dead, they're just not married. Right. But he's an electrician and yeah, would we like a silicon ring? That is the most... Can we get any... Can we get a nine six, nine six? So we've got to
Starting point is 00:02:46 any Sparky's or Sparky's partners. I mean, if you've got a mad missus, you probably move. If you're a lot of tics, you make it some bloody... Producer Carwin. Yeah, this was a massive thing because when I worked in jewelry, people would come in... and ask for them. And where I worked, didn't have silicon ones, but they had other options. Because otherwise, you can get their gloved really quickly. Yeah, and they've got more flexibility.
Starting point is 00:03:11 So, like, people who work with their hands and trades. Just don't wear it. My dad never wore a wedding ring. My dad never took his off. A single cow never hit on him on the dairy farm. He was surrounded by some good-looking blondes with massive nungers. They just happen to be cows. Yeah, your beautiful eyelashes.
Starting point is 00:03:27 You know, it is a thing. I guess if that's important to you to always be wearing your ring, A lot of people have a work ring that's safer. Yep, okay. My husband wears a silicon ring instead of his wedding band because he's a cop and doesn't want to lose it or have it ripped off. I mean, fair enough, you've got a cop out there. Yeah, oh, far out.
Starting point is 00:03:43 All he's going to do is pull over and I'm like. Haley's just like, watch your number. My husband's a mechanic and wears a silicon ring. Really? It's a thing. I'm not making it up. But these look like that. How have I never heard of this?
Starting point is 00:03:54 My daughter's husband wears a silicon ring. He's a diesel mechanic. It's for safety. When I played pro rugby, we used to wear silicon rings also. Pro-Rabit blames. You wear a ring. Slipping off the silicon ring when they're out with the board.
Starting point is 00:04:05 But you wear a gold ring or a silver ring for the same reason to show I'm signifying I'm married and to feel united so when you can't wear it. But much like these Kmart or a jupe rings, they're not sexy. Dude, they're ugly as hell. Because they're just these like plain bands
Starting point is 00:04:19 that go around and they don't look silver. So these ones are completely sold out in New Zealand. Monitor your health with ease using this smart ring combining a sleek light, wow, blah, charge it up. But did I just see it's runtime is like an hour. No. I saw someone that said 59 minutes.
Starting point is 00:04:34 That's not going to last for a day, is it? Nick's a sparky. No, sorry, charging time takes an hour. Right. Nix is sparker, he said, I wear a normal ring. Should wear a non-conductive one, though. It turns into an element when it gets live into the ring I've got.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Yes. Burn your finger off. That just keeps you on your toes. Yeah, that actually does. It's bloody health and safety. PC madness. But anyway, whether you're buying the legit aura or, you know, lots of brands are doing rings,
Starting point is 00:04:59 you kind of didn't bother. So there was a US study that was done looking at all smartwatches, Apple, Samsung, Gama and everything, and found out that by actually monitoring the wearer with a better device and the smart watch at the same time, completely overestimating your calorie burn. Really? By up to 25%. Wait, so you say if your watch says you burn 1,000, you might only burn 75, 750. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I remember looking at, because I'm interested in the V-O-2 Max graph. that I have for like your cardio fitness. And I remember looking up some YouTube videos and they'd actually put people on those breathing and they were good, eh? And they were very, I think the Samsung, the apple and Garman that were all very close to the actual V-O-2 Max. The worst performing out of the lot was Fitbit.
Starting point is 00:05:49 I think they just might have been left behind a little bit. I was such a Fitbit girl when they first came out. Steps, steps. It was just step, step, steps. Steps, yeah. And then they got the heartbeat one. But yeah, they had adults cycling for 60 minutes. on a reclined stationary bike wearing every watch compared against a gold standard metabolic analyser
Starting point is 00:06:07 that was like hooked up to them. Right. Hugely. Over-restating, which sometimes I look at my calories at the end of the day and I go, they can't be right more than that. Probably did more than that. But no, you should have been doing more.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Should have been doing more. Right. So if you've set your calories for the day. Yeah, I guess if you've setting the goal based on what it's telling you, maybe crank them up a bit and go up at another couple of hundred. another walk, yeah. Play Z-Ns, Fletchhorn and Haley. It's so silly, silly, silly, that's silly.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Well, silly little poll is, are you doing a spring clean? Are you going to get deep? You're going to move the couch? Yeah. Are you going to get in those little gutter things? Get in those cupboards. Around the bottom of the window where all the dead flies and dust and stuff can turn to mole. It's probably.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Just get the robot to do a couple more rounds. When I say yes, I actually paid someone last week to come. come and do all the like deep dusting. You've got a dusty house. It's so dusty. Do you know why? Post-renovation, I never did one of those post-renovation cleans. And you're supposed to. You get it all really decades.
Starting point is 00:07:28 And so the dust just kind of lives with me. And then I buy so many things for it to cling to. Well, we gave you three options. Yes, time for a deep clean and a declutter. Yes, but just the little one. And no. Okay. And she's pretty evenly split.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Oh, really? 31% of you are doing a deep plan and a declutter. 34% of you, just a little one. 35% no. Can't be bothered. Won't be doing it. Big a fish. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Dan said, as a school teacher, that is my holiday plans. Cut to the first day of term four, well, the clean washing pile is still there. But that obscure Irish and Belgian police drama that was very interesting is actually taking the place at the clean. Yes. I think that's how you know you've got ADHD, right?
Starting point is 00:08:08 It's if you start cleaning. Yeah. And then you move on to something else. you move into something else. And then your house looks like piles. Yes. You're like this. And then you're like watching a show.
Starting point is 00:08:18 The oven's open half clean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But man, the steamers have been washed. You sprayed the stuff on the oven. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you can't use your oven for two weeks because that's got the stuff in it and it's dried. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:31 That stuff hangs around too. Do your burn off. My roast chook that I did because the oven got cleaned, the roast chook had that tang. A little bit of a tang, yeah. That's a bit of muscle. Rachel said, yes, nesting time. I just started maternity leave and due date of six weeks. Yeah, that's a big thing, eh?
Starting point is 00:08:48 So you're going to be getting that clean on? By the way. You just be careful if you're pregnant inhaling all those cleaners because your mum did quite a bit of cleaning when she had you, didn't she? I know, I was one of the lucky ones because you can't tell it all.
Starting point is 00:09:02 It's very. It's only subtle. It's so subtle. You know. Things click into place. Yeah. Yeah. Petsy smoke day.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Sharon said, nah. She did really loved a wine. Oh, yes, she did. Sharon said, nah, I'm not going to clean. I'm going to go to Raro to drink and hang out with my love instead. Oh, I love. Get it, Shaz. Get it, Shaz.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Shaz is shagga and Rarra. Shagga Shaz. Yeah. Sheldon said, saw my sister clean Range Hood grills. I was unaware of cleaning those. Oh, yeah, you've got to get those things out. They get out. Give them a hot soak and some.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Is it vinegar? that pulls back that grease. Yeah. Ruby said yes, but only because the sun hit my windows yesterday and I notice how filthy they are. Yeah. Sarah, I love to declutter often, but I married her. Keep this bit of wood.
Starting point is 00:09:51 I reckon I might use it kind of guy. Julie said, do good intentions count? Because I've had those for a few years about a deep plane. Yeah. Energetically, you're cleaning the house. Yeah. Amber said I really should, but I won't.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Sophie, only because we're moving house. that sucks about moving houses because you've got to clean the house to the move out of and then the one you move into also probably needs to be cleaned yeah yes no mercy will be given to any dirty surface says Steph
Starting point is 00:10:19 Kelsey already done I got the urge last week and I just got stuck in good so for today's still little poll we asked are you planning on doing a spring plane 31% of you going deep and declutter baby play
Starting point is 00:10:31 play ZN Flesh one and Haley So I am actually not wearing any today, but I wear about nine rings and I... Congratulations, I'm being so rich. Thank you. God, and traveling with her at an airport, never a problem. I know, that's why I'm not wearing today, but then I've got a necklace and a bracelets,
Starting point is 00:10:52 you know, whatever. That's not what you need to be worried about going through security with me today. Anyway, so I wear all these rings and they're all from stolen girlfriends. I just love the brand, right? And one of them was this heart. And I'll tell you, it has a swear word on it. Okay. Oh, Hayley, thanks.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Haley, please. Now, this was, no, it's not cheap of it, but it was a ring, I loved so much. And then just out of the blue, it was gone. I'd lost it. And I know, like, I know a mess, but I looked everywhere. I looked in every pocket of every bit of clothing, everywhere.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Like, where have I been? You know, I'm always looking at, always putting them in my bags and stuff, gone. So, on opening night of my show, my lovely boyfriend, had bought flowers. And... What a sweetie. He's sweetie.
Starting point is 00:11:41 It's a real sweetie. And there was a little box. And first of all, I went, oh my gosh, that's too soon. This is crazy. That's slow things down. But in it was the exact ring. And he'd replaced it. He'd gone into stolen a girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:11:53 He'd bought it. He'd asked them, you know, she'll have an account here, what size was it. And he bought the new one and I had it. And I've been wearing that ever since. Well, that's personal details. I don't know if they should have been handing that over. It's crazy. I don't know just a step from them.
Starting point is 00:12:06 It could have been any creep buying you a ring. Yeah, it could have been. Yeah, now that creep knows out, I've wide my finger girth is, you know? That's private information. You don't need the media. You don't need the gossip mags finding out you've got a wide finger. A heavyset finger. I'm like King Charles.
Starting point is 00:12:22 You don't know that about me. Sausage fingers. Haley, sausage fingers sprow explains why she's so heavy set in the digit. In the digits. That's the woman's day headline right there. And then underneath what JJ and manure are up to. Which I always want to know. Tony Street will be...
Starting point is 00:12:38 Tony Street's doing something. Her journey. Yeah, there's a journey. She's always on a journey. That's right. And an old Shorten Street actor's had a baby. Gorgeous, a perfect issue. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:12:48 Perfect. So, right, and we're in this ring. This is back in May. Yep. It is September now. Cut two. I'm going to Australia today. And I'm going to be running late for the flight.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Okay? Booked a silly flight. Because we're going from work. So no time to check in baggage. I was like, I'll take the small bag, not my big one. And I open it up. And he's at my house. Like he's hanging out on the bed while I'm packing.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I open it up and I just go, and I slam it shut. And I was like, oh my God. There's the ring. There's the original ring. Just sitting in the circle. I've got the replacement ring on my finger as we're hanging out. And I just say, oh, like I get that silver glow. And I'm like, I know exactly what that is.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Now, I just remembered earlier in this conversation, you said it wasn't cheap? No, no, no, no. Okay. No, no. But cheap enough for him to buy a replacement. Cheap enough. It's not diamonds. It's just silver,
Starting point is 00:13:40 but it's an expensive brand and it's New Zealand made. So, no, I'm sure we're... Oh, total, total, total. I'll go replace her ring. What the? We're here now. Right?
Starting point is 00:13:49 So I see this ring and I go, like this and he goes, what is it? And I was like, Spider. And I was like, do I just immediately go? This is a, you know, a fresh relationship. I don't want to start on a bed of lies. Yep.
Starting point is 00:14:03 You want your lies to come in at about the two. It's like building a house, you know. Foundations, strong. Roof lies. Yeah, and the lies protect you from the rain. Which is the flimsiest of all. So I was like, in my head I was just like,
Starting point is 00:14:17 oh my God, I just found the ring that I lost that you replaced. The worst just didn't come out. And so I went, oh no, I just thought there was something in there. Open this, pack the bag, I packed the shit all on top of the original ring. Yeah. And now it's just like, I'm just kind of, I've got a secret. I've got my first big, fat, dirty secret that he wasted his money on this replacement ring
Starting point is 00:14:41 and I've found it. And now I'm like, what do I do? I'm going to sell it. Which one are you going to sell? The original. I'll sell the original. But does the original look as new? They're exactly as worn as each other.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Okay, good. So he's not going to know. No, no, no, no, no, no. Okay. He's not going to know. But I'll profit and he will see not a dime of it. And that is girl math. I think it is girl math.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Yep. Like, couple hundred bucks. Girl algebra, really? You've included a, you know, a little bit more than just a plus and minus. Yeah. Well, let's go out for drinks, guys, because it's on me. The ZDM Podcast Network. Zet M's Fletch, Forin and Haley.
Starting point is 00:15:24 From the unmoderated comment section, this is the top six. Well, apprenticeship numbers have hit a 15-year low. The number of people in apprenticeships and workplace trainers. is the lowest it's been in 15 years. How are we going to provide Australia with their next trading? With the cream of the crop? Yeah, I don't know. They're going to be upset, are they?
Starting point is 00:15:49 They're going to be upset, are they? They get the absolute best out of us. Well, they're absolutely doing, of course, they get their training up here, and then they just, they, the lure of the gold coast. Yeah. Where at the weekend, they can go to Movie World and have a photo with Wonder Woman or Bugs Bunny. Yeah, man. Why are they staying here?
Starting point is 00:16:05 Pop over to Bali? For 27 bucks an hour. Yeah. Oh, why are we here? Well, I've got the top six signs. Your tradie doesn't have an apprentice because every trade he needs a good sidekick leads an apprentice. Number six on the list, they don't have any left-handed screwdrivers in their toolbox.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Oh, that's a classic. Go to the hardware store and get me a left-handed screwdrivers. Oh, yeah, because it's just one. Yeah. There aren't any. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:30 Nice. Number five on the list of the top six signs, your tradie doesn't have an apprentice. Your builder's spirit level doesn't have a fresh bubble. Oh, because it's... You don't put bubbles in it. Yeah. We've got a bloody apprentice in studio. Are you allowed to prank tradies anymore, or is this just a workplace for a harassment?
Starting point is 00:16:49 I was looking through some classic apprentice gags. Yeah, to write this talk. Some of them horrendous. Oh, yeah, bad. Yeah, not great. Some of them... Bad. Really bad.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Just bad. Just bad. Quick 9-6-6. six if you were an apprentice, what's the worst than happened to you when you were an apprentice under the guise of your trainer? 9696. Number four on the list of the top six signs your tradie doesn't have an apprentice.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Your painters don't have any cans of tart and paint. Because you don't paint on the pattern you have to do it yourself with various colours of paint. Could you pop down to Resina and ask them for a can of tart and paint? Yeah. All right, you'd pop off.
Starting point is 00:17:30 We'll see you soon, eh? Yeah. It wouldn't because it just is one color. Yeah, you're not taking the work, baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go, there you go. Wow. Number three on the list of the top six signs your tradie doesn't have an apprentice. You can't find bloody anybody around here to get us a bucket of steam.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Could you pop out and get us a bucket of steam? Where do you get that from? But might have a ten or we have a bucket of steam. Can you? You really got me. Number two on the list of the top six signs your trade he doesn't have an apprentice. Your bloody panel beat is using the angle grinder. He's out of blue spark.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Can you pop down and get us a tin of blue sparks to use on the grinder? Would that be from sort of J.B. High-Fi always? Yeah, they might have them. They might have them. Can't do it. Super cheap. Sparks are natural, yeah. And number one on the list of the top six signs of your tradie does them, an apprentice.
Starting point is 00:18:22 You bloody go in to get your car seen to, of course, you're wearing a fitness, and no one fills up your blinker fluid. Not any fluid. Are you doing? You don't need any bloody fluid. Can you pop down to wrap down and get us a tin of blinker fluid? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll have a look. We'll need to fill that up on the next car.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, I can get one of those. Yeah, that sounds bloody good to me. They're a blinker fluid. Yeah, right, right, right. They don't need fluid. Come back two hours later. I couldn't bloody find any. No, you know what I was talking about.
Starting point is 00:18:46 That is today's top six. The Z&M Podcast Network. Play Zat M's Fleshhorn and Haley. Some of our famous and beloved musicians are killing us. Yeah. Are killing us. He's saying Lady Gaga is a murderer.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Taylor Swift. Murderer. Murderer. They're all murderers. You would break it down. Okay, well, this is an insane study. And obviously there is no direct correlation. But.
Starting point is 00:19:13 The amount of suing if we were in America. Yeah, you could. So they looked at, researchers looked at traffic deaths in the United States from 2017 to 2022. 233 deaths, a thousand deaths in total. So a quarter of a million traffic deaths. Over five years. Over five years. They found that those names,
Starting point is 00:19:33 numbers. So how many, what was the number? Just under a quarter of a million. 233,000. Have died in traffic. In five years. From 2017 to 2020. In five years. I just think maybe we need to just get back in our feet.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Yeah, in America. They found that deaths rose 15% on days when major albums were released. Like Taylor Swift's Midnights, Bad Bunny's album that dropped during that time, and other albums. Traffic deaths went up. 15%. People distracted listen to their new music. They love it so much.
Starting point is 00:20:07 They're running red lights and driving off the road. Or when you get a good, yeah, when you listen to a new song from one of your favorite artists, they're like, the slap. And you just go hard. And the spike hit, younger drivers, male drivers, and solo drivers hardest. It was stronger on clear, dry days with sober drivers behind
Starting point is 00:20:25 the wheel. Isn't that insane? That is crazy. So your favorite, an album comes out, a new talent swift album, or your favorite, and your favorite album comes out. Be careful. Be careful. Because everyone's listening.
Starting point is 00:20:37 We've got new Miley coming. Be careful. We've got new... I don't know who else is doing music at the moment. I don't know. There's always albums coming out. There's always albums coming out. But you do, you do, because you're like listening.
Starting point is 00:20:51 You know, like you can have background music on those songs you know and love because it's like you know and love them. They're just kind of, they're just in you. Whereas new stuff, you're really listening. You've been like, oh, that's interesting. And then you're like, oh, I love this. If there's an absolute banger, you could just be so. distracted. Or you're like skipping,
Starting point is 00:21:05 be like skip, what's next, what's next, what's next? But be careful. So obviously they can't time, like they don't know that that's a fact. It could just be a complete coincidence. But when there are major albums released, so are you reneging on saying that Taylor Swift is an act of murderer? Right.
Starting point is 00:21:21 He's retreating a little bit. Wow. More people, I've just been doing some quick Googling. Because that stat blew my mind about how many people die in car accidents. More people have died in car accidents, Since World War II, then died in the entirety of World War II. Oh.
Starting point is 00:21:37 But it has been a lot of times since. It has been 70 years. It's so fast now. They're so fast. Yeah, we just get really fast cars. Okay, well, careful on the roads. Careful on the roads. Careful out there changing anything and touching anything.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Do we need to calm down our show so people don't get distracted? You know, we could do sort of general... We had a caller on the phone once when they were hit by a truck. whoever told you this? It was the wildest. Yes, and then you called them back, no. No, we tried calling them back and it went straight to answer phone. And then they called us back.
Starting point is 00:22:12 And they said, they were completely fine. A truck changed lanes, they were, and didn't see them. What did it sound like? It just like a car accident must sound like. It sounded like crunchy. Loud, crunchy. And then the phone dropped and then it just said, beep, beep, beep. What was the, what were you on the phone about?
Starting point is 00:22:27 Oh, you know, when did you fart yourself in public or something? Something silly. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, take care out there, guys. The ZDM Podcast Network. Well, Dyson, who famously know how to make a vacuum cleaner. And man, they know how to make a hair wrap heat.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Yeah. Yeah. I still can't figure out how to use it. I mean, we got Dyson's eight years ago. From Dyson when we girl master Dyson ear wrap. I don't know how to use it. What do you put it in your hair? You put it in your hair.
Starting point is 00:23:03 It is complicated. Okay. So they've announced their latest product using AI. Now, I know that we, as a show, we value a floss. You know? Yeah, we love a floss. You got really into flossing hard a couple of years ago. I love when they bleed.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Fletch, you do it at work. Shouldn't be bleeding. Just sorry, come back to that. Shouldn't be bleeding as much. No, they only bleed when you haven't floss for a wine. They only bleed when you, you know, it's like wiping your belly. bum, you keep going until there's a little bit of blood. Yeah, no, you shouldn't be doing that either.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Really? Have you put to your colonoscopy? I thought the red, I thought the red said stop. The red was, stop. Stop. No, no, no, no. So, they've released their latest product, and it's only $849 for a toothbrush. So it is.
Starting point is 00:23:48 I don't even like alleged toothbrushes. They're yuck. I know. I'm manual. I went back to manual because my dentist told me off because he called some chainsaws. Yeah, because I recede. The gums. They're not good for the gums.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Yeah. Well, you can go super soft and stuff. You can't get soft heads, though. It's very hard to get the soft heads. No, I'm manual. But this is called the Dyson Camera Jair. It's the only toothbrush with a camera powered by Gap Optical Targeting. So...
Starting point is 00:24:15 I'm sorry, it's going to be covered in bloody toothpaste the whole time. Oh, I know. So it's a little one millimeter intra-oral camera. That's going up your jacksiae for a look. Just a look. What, a home colonoscopy. Yeah, when I'm finished with the head and it needs. replacing, I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:24:31 yeah, check out my cervix. Yeah, can't see it. Why not? God, no wonder he's bleeding. Got to remember if anyone's going to, just whack a safety string on that. It may be a condom, you know. No, because it'll blue the view.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Yeah, I know. You get nice thin ones. With lube on your windscreen. Yeah, got it. Don't you hate it when you're driving with lube on your windscreen? So a little camera analyzes 28 images a second
Starting point is 00:24:54 processed by AI. Wow. Within 100 milliseconds of spotting a gap, it fires a bonacled burst of mouth rinse to floss while you brush. So you're going in this and it says a little thing and it goes, squirts in your mouth. I think I like that.
Starting point is 00:25:10 So it's like a water flosser or an air blaser. It's a truer. It's an automatic. It's an automatic tufer for your toothers. And then while you're doing this, so you've got it in your mouth and it's, it's brushing your teeth, it's sensing a gap, it's blasting water through it like a water flosser. You've got your phone open watching the whole thing. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:25:29 I kind of think I'd find that satisfying for a little bit. You know, people do those. Have you seen the scalp health cameras? No. And they get one of those really magnifying cameras on your scalp and you see all the clogged. Oh, no. Because have you ever been in a hotel
Starting point is 00:25:46 and you've accidentally looked at yourself in that up close magnifying mirror? Dude, and you're like, cool. You're just like, ugh. Like a Nick Offerman mustache. Like, what the hell is that doing there? So, yeah, and it's like that, oscillates and it squirts and it does everything
Starting point is 00:26:01 using it in the shower but it is 800 dollars yeah 845 in New Zealand it's a gimmick it's a bit gimmicky it's a bit of a mask it's way too expensive for a novelty gadget do you know what I mean like it's novel but every morning you're not going oh did you see in the group chat
Starting point is 00:26:18 this is our wider giggle group chat skid bought a water flosser off Timo oh yeah I got one from chemist warehouse yeah that's what I was I was just thinking there's you got your chemist. Yeah, I got shamedest. Do you still use it?
Starting point is 00:26:32 Yeah, all the time. Not as much as I would just like use one of those pick sticks. But when I'm like, oh yeah, I want a good claim. But you have to put in, for me, not cold water. Oh, yeah, because it's sensitive. Oh my God, it like stings. The first time you do it with cold, you're like, oh, could you do it with mouthwash? Or is that not recommended?
Starting point is 00:26:49 I think just water does it. Okay. You're just wasted because it uses quite a bit of water. Could you go over the, it was like, so you're just be pissing. Yeah, you're doing the shower. Yeah. Okay. But this, yeah, if you want it, you can go to Dyson.com.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Or just do what the rest of us do and just floss like the day before, or the day of the dentist. I'm going to the hygienist next week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They never know. They don't know. They don't know this thing. The Z&M Podcast Network. Play ZDEMS, Fletch, One and Haley.
Starting point is 00:27:16 I, uh... Thank you. Oh, not me. Oh, not me. Yeah, both of you are beautiful thing. You're beautiful. Um, now I've forgotten the name of the designer. This is terrible.
Starting point is 00:27:27 But... Oh, a Japanese man. The Japanese jacket designer, I went to an op shop, and I found an 80s or 70s jacket that is by this Japanese designer who used to design clothes for David Bowie. It's suede, tassels, studs, everything.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Amazing, right? And I wore it the next day to work. You guys tried it on. It's sisterhood of the travelling vintage jacket, but you shall never actually be able to wear it. So what we would have all noticed in that moment is that she had a mask. She had a vintage mask.
Starting point is 00:27:57 hasn't been worn since the 80s. So I was like, I'm going to do things right. I'm going to take it to the dry cleaners. And the dry cleaner looked at it and was like, is this vintage? You know, like there's a bit of risk. We have to go and send it off for an assessment. And I said, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Wait, who do they send it to? Some fabric expert. I don't know. Okay. An assessment. And just yesterday, I received a message from them saying, the jacket's been assessed
Starting point is 00:28:24 because of the nature and the age of the suede and the mix of things, it runs the risk of drying, cracking, colour bleeding, tearing, blah, blah, blah, blah. And we take no responsibility for that. You have to sign a waiver and accept and say now,
Starting point is 00:28:40 do it or don't do it. Well, why don't you just get your Kmart steamer on it? I'd get a Kmart steamer. No, I've accepted. Because I think the, I think the stink is so ingrained in it. Right. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Like, we're talking like 50 years of... Stink. Just some stink. A lot of stink has. that. So I've signed it off. So basically I don't know. I won't know until next week. So you're rolling the dice. On the vintage find of my life.
Starting point is 00:29:04 The possibility of it having some sort of damage done to it, you weren't like eventually the stink will wear out. No, no, it won't wear out. It'll get stronger. You think this thing's going to get stronger. Why don't you just put it on the washing line with your dress? No, I'd rather die. No, I've got that off
Starting point is 00:29:20 by the way. I texted, just texted, have you got your skirt off the line, I have. Yeah, she's fine. She's fine. Yeah, no, it needs it. It needs it so that it doesn't become some relic in my wardrobe that becomes something I actually wear. But anyway, now I'm like, well, they're going to ruin it. And then they've said. Also, it stinks. You're going to wear it out
Starting point is 00:29:37 on a night on K Road and it's going to smell like sickies and bloody... Yeah. No, but it's a different stink, sigis and booze in Kroo. Yeah, right. It's got that vintage sting. Anyway, it reminded me of a time that I took the wrist. This is like before I ever bought, like, spent money on clothes. And I worked in a clothing store and I bought my first
Starting point is 00:29:56 expensive dress. It was a soft fabric, really light. And my bestie Jess was like, oh my God, can I borrow that for a party? It was like, absolutely. It came back with like the biggest dorry hole in it. And because of the nature of the fabric, the flame had gone like, like, hud. Like it kind of like shrunk it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:12 A bit of synthetics there. Yeah, but now I want to know, so they haven't ruined my jacket, but knock on wood. We'll find out. Stay tuned, DeLissa. Next week is Haley's vintage jacket ruin? Destroyed. Yeah. As they were warned, it could be. I wouldn't No, who ruined your belongings?
Starting point is 00:30:28 And maybe it was something really precious. Because you lend something to a friend. You lent it or you gave it to a service or something. You know, you sent it to be washed or, you know, someone was supposed to be carrying something for you and it just got absolutely destroyed. It's when you lend friends things. Yeah, it's always that.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Like you lend them tools or clothing. Oh, power tools. Yeah. Yeah. Lend the dog to go for a walk. The dog dies. And then if they break it or wreck it or lose it, do they pay full price?
Starting point is 00:30:56 it wasn't new. No. And then there's... Depreciation. And also, you kind of can't ask. You can't go, well, you've got to pay for that. To a friend, you're sort of just like, that happens. I would, I think I would replace it.
Starting point is 00:31:09 You would if you were the breaker for sure. Yeah. But if, yeah, if someone broke something of yours at your house, you wouldn't be like, replace it. No. Remember I broke your drain and your kitchen floor. Yeah. But again, I knew that I was getting a kitchen renno, so it didn't matter.
Starting point is 00:31:25 How did you bring the... ruined in the kitchen floor. I sort of stumbled and it sort of went all through the... Yeah, and there was a big hole in the kitchen floor. Oh. Yeah, we fixed it a little bit, but... Didn't you glue it or something? Anyway, who ruined your belongings?
Starting point is 00:31:40 Shannon, Emma's message, can we check the VH, Instagram, DM? She just sent us a photo of something I lent to my mate. Oh, yeah. Okay, let's go to Rachel. Rachel, what did a friend ruin of yours? Oh, morning guys. Well, back in the days when I was in 91, FM
Starting point is 00:31:56 Chairleader. Rachel, we'd love to bring back the 91 ZDM cheerleaders, but it's apparently it's a bit right. God, they didn't tell me until I was halfway through auditioning them. No, like, Boyle of. This was just last week as well, wasn't it? Yeah, it was. On your couch in the office.
Starting point is 00:32:13 I know, Rachel, as someone who has not come from a radio background, I know nothing about these ZDM cheerleaders. What is this? Okay, so it used to be 91 ZDM cheerleaders. cheerleaders in New Zealand. Right. And it was really, really hard to get in. It was a Dallas cowboy cheerleaders of the 90s, wasn't it?
Starting point is 00:32:38 Did they have you prancing around little crop tops and little short skirts and stuff? You'd go to the rugby games, wouldn't you? Absolutely. So we were like in this tiny little unicard with a G-string of our arms hanging out. It sounds problematic. It sounds problematic. It sounds like where's a company want to distance ourselves from that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Wow. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so what happened back in those days? With some of the management that were there, are they still here? We'll have to get some. Well, you know, Shusty. Well, we won't know names.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Sorry, sorry, sorry. Well, he was there. Oh, right, yeah, right. Yeah, but no, I went away with one of my teammates to Fiji, and I had my gorgeous bikini that I'd saved up so much for. And I've got little bitty-titty-witties. You've got little tiddies. huge
Starting point is 00:33:26 I don't now I've had had the girls done but I did back then and my girlfriend had massive
Starting point is 00:33:33 good jungas she was like to borrow it and I was like well you'll stretch it she's like well you'll stretch it she's a hell out of it
Starting point is 00:33:42 oh no I put it on I've got gaping yeah hollow sacks yeah well this is like when girls
Starting point is 00:33:47 borrow their boyfriend's hoodie you get the boob marks yeah they do get two loves in the middle yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:33:53 and so basically I had to give it to because I couldn't wear it ever again. Could it would have just been a nipple cover on her if she's got hongers and you've got itty-bitties. Unbelievable. She looked gorgeous. Rachel, what are going to get the original girls back together
Starting point is 00:34:07 for the, I see a promo here? Yeah, me too, the 91 FM cheerleaders. We'll get the original girls back. Yep. It has been Wendy Petrie back in there. I was going to say. Wendy Petrie was one of them. We've talked to her about it.
Starting point is 00:34:19 We've talked to her about it. Yeah, she was. Back in the... All news to me. Yeah, it was a whole big thing back in. in the day. It's crazy stuff. Rachel, thanks for that.
Starting point is 00:34:27 They were on our TV commercial too, Haley. Trip down memory. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you could YouTube some like old ads and stuff. Yeah, because I used to put like marching girls on ads and promos and stuff. Rachel, thank you. Great trip down memory lane there.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Amelia, good morning. Who ruined your stuff? Wasn't my stuff that got ruined? It was your stuff. Oh, you ruined our stuff? No, my dad did. Oh, what did you did? do?
Starting point is 00:34:58 My dad is the one who broke Herman the German. Oh, Amelia. Amelia, the unforgivable act of breaking our beloved ceramic dog, Herman the German's flock. And now his foot is encased in a perspex box in memoriam. Are you embarrassed to be associated with him? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Yeah. Well, at least your dad was helping us, wasn't he? Get Herman up the country. I mean, we're thinking. Did you get to meet Herman? Amelia, while I was on the road. Yeah, I got to meet him. It's pretty cool. He's still cool. He's still cool.
Starting point is 00:35:33 He's still cool. He's just an amputee. He's an amputee, but he's got a cool scarf, happy, and he's got visitors. He does. Amelia, thank you. Love to your father, Amelia. Matt, who ruined your stuff? So, look, I made a bad choice before we got married. We bought two brand new big marquies for our wedding, and I lent them to a friend who was having a family party.
Starting point is 00:35:53 I say family in brackets the weekend before, and he shredded them. completely shredded. How do you How do you shred a marquee? Apparently having a fire pit in the middle of them
Starting point is 00:36:04 and then having drunk people with sparklers is not the way to do it. Wait so what did you end up doing for your wedding? We had to hire a couple so I had a very unhappy fiancé who was
Starting point is 00:36:17 second-guessing my life decisions already before she was. Was the guy you lent the marquis in the wedding party? No, but he was a complete dick So I don't know why I did it Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, sorry, mate
Starting point is 00:36:32 Yeah So what was it, how was it remedied? He hired them He literally pretty much I saw, yeah, I had to hire some He just said sorry And that was it Wait, did he pay for them?
Starting point is 00:36:44 No, no, no, no We're not friends of him still, are we? We're not friends with him No, we're not friends of him And what do we don't do that A week out from the wedding How did the bride take it? The bride didn't take it
Starting point is 00:36:55 very well but what we did learn is make better life choices. Yeah, that's right. Yes, that's right. Because sometimes those higher tents are a bit like stony, aren't they? Yeah, they're a bit yellow. Like, do they not? They need to, I feel like they need a power washers a bit more. Yeah, yeah, we need to get a...
Starting point is 00:37:08 Hit them with a bit of bleach. Yeah. Get them a liquid chlorine on there. Yeah. Friendly bleach. Thank you, Matt. Some messages. I took my wool cashmere coat to a tailor
Starting point is 00:37:19 and she basically made the sleeves three quarter length. So we're so embarrassing. Not to mention, she charged me $380. So my good deal coat that I got for 120 turned into a $500, $300, three-quarter sleeves. Yeah, little shame sleeves. Yeah. You could add a cuff maybe, go to Spotlight,
Starting point is 00:37:34 get some fabric, add a long cuff. No, because you're always going to look at the cuff and think. No. Someone else me says, you know, I was on the other end of the situation you caught. I was the one who ruined my friend's expense of top because we were the same size, but I had massive bubets. Oh, right. Stretch the top out in that area.
Starting point is 00:37:51 You can't help it. They really do leave a couple of big dents. Yeah. I bought my wedding dress from a sample sale, so I got it like for a really good price. Took it to a dry cleaner because it had been, you know, tried on and worn by different people. And it came back ripped with holes in it three weeks before the wedding.
Starting point is 00:38:06 That's a good way to save money though, isn't it? Get a dress at a sample sale and then I guess if you need to have a few jabs to fit it. Jab it up. Like you're saving money, aren't you? Do they're thousands of dollars. My 10 pound three ounce baby done ruin my beloved vagina. Nurn ruined. Can you read that start message?
Starting point is 00:38:27 Have you seen that one? I haven't worked. I'll do it. My bestie borrowed a ball dress and then shagged my brother-in-law on a barbecue table in it and pulled all the threads. I just let her keep up.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Okay, there's a lot to unpack there. Play Z-N. Fletch forna. What are we in for summer? That is what everyone wants to know. I can't even remember if last summer was good or not, it seems so long. No, it was average.
Starting point is 00:38:52 Was it? Wet. Winter's been cold, Christmas. be a mixed bag. We always want to know and we have to get it right from the horse's mouth and that horse's name is Philip Duncan. Good morning Phil. Getty up. Get it up, baby.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Now, so obviously like we're seeing, you know, at home at night, sun going down later. Yeah, man. It's so bright in the morning. Is that like savings three or four weekends away? Yeah, end of September. Yep. Mood's already lifting. We can feel it coming. Are we in for a good one? Oh, by the way, from Weather Watchdog, he's not just some random, if you don't know,
Starting point is 00:39:27 from Weather Watch. com, NZ. Are we in for a good summer? Depends on where you live. Because the El Nino that we've got usually encourages a longest spring. And so the weather that we've got at the moment with the windy wettlies that keep blowing across the country, that might sort of linger into summer in some areas.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Now, that can be a good thing in some places, if you like, a really hot norwester, which is the eastern side of the country. But if you live on the western side of New Zealand, there's a chance it could be cloudy at times and not quite as hot as those other areas. So it depends on where you live. But usually it's sort of like El Nino encourages the spring weather pattern to sort of drag on a little bit longer as we go into December and early January. So what about after that? What about after that next year?
Starting point is 00:40:15 What's the rest of summer looking like? Yeah. Yeah. So the latest update on El Nino is that it will be starting to weaken once we're. go into the new year. So it'll be still around, which means the later part of summer, early part of autumn. Again, it could be sort of autumn-like in some areas, which isn't always great if you live in the western or southern sides of the country.
Starting point is 00:40:41 But there could be some very hot days. So, you know, while I'm saying on one side, it's going to be a bit spring-like and cloudier and cooler, if you get a north-west or out of Australia, that is how we break our heat records. And we've got a higher chance of that happening this. year despite some of the cloudy cooler weather. So it's just like unfedled is probably a good way of summing it up.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Philip, sometimes the north-wester makes the can tabs go, but loony turn. They go crazy in Christchurch and around there when there's a Northwester. Sounds like we might need to boost police numbers. Yeah, are we looking to boost police numbers in crazy Christchurch? Yeah, you might have to. It's funny, isn't it, how Christchurch doesn't, like, when it's a windy northwest, northwest, they go crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:21 But up in Wellington, they have it all the time, and it's just another day. Yeah, interesting. Crazy by nature. I'm a bit disappointed, Philip. I don't know why. It was sort of just won a nice, consistent summer and a 10 guarantee.
Starting point is 00:41:37 I thought you were going to hit us for some lovely sunny days. We're in for a good one. Christmas is going to be a scorcher. We'll get that as well. It's just, you know, I'm just sort of making sure I don't too many complaints when a January rolls around and the tent just got blown apart or something.
Starting point is 00:41:52 Yeah. Yeah. So, but not particularly wet? No, usually with El Nino you get a lot of rain on the west coast of the South Island, but not so much for the western side of the North Island. And if you live on the eastern side of New Zealand, it usually gets very dry, very quickly as we go over the next couple days. The eastern side of New Zealand for the last, like got pummeled with heavy rain
Starting point is 00:42:16 and those crazy storms and the flooding and the devastating late landslides and stuff. And now you're telling me it's going to go polar opposite. and they're going to be parched this summer? Yeah, pretty much. That's usually quite often the case, actually. Yeah, some of these eastern areas, it's a little bit like Northland. Northland's either in a drought or it's being flooded. You know, there's sort of, there's not a lot of middle ground,
Starting point is 00:42:36 whereas Waikato is a lot more in that sort of middle ground. So it depends on where you are. Yeah, you're right. Might be good for the wine, though. Oh, well, I was going to say, for the wan. Good for the one. On the eastern coast, might be good for the wan. I was saying this is giving big, might have to tottle back to France, Philip.
Starting point is 00:42:50 You know what I mean? It's lovely. It was lovely weather there are. Yeah, I always like to remind people that we're two mountainous islands in the roaring 40s, you know, halfway to Antarctica. It's not always as perfect as we'd like, but I still think we're going to get some good days on the way. Brilliant. Okay. Tans inbound.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Yeah. Asterix, maybe. Of course, we're sunblock all the time. Sunscreens all the time. Slip slap up. Philip Duncan, thank you. A lot of news stories this week about that. So it's good to hear.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Good to understand it. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you so much. Are you alright? Personally, you're right. I'm doing all right. Thanks. Thank you really for caring.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Appreciate that. No, we do. We keep deep before you. Hanging out for a hurricane or something? Yeah, yeah. Sider for those, don't you. A little boy waits. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Little boy weights. Play Zat M's Fletch, Vaughn and Haley. Miley on Zid M. It's your Friday flashback today from 2013. She's got a new song out 11 a.m. This morning. Georgia will have that playing on the wireless. Oh, I'll be able to download it before.
Starting point is 00:43:54 me flight. Yeah. Yeah. Any feedback on that one? I mean, it's a banger. It's a certified banger. First world, quality, first world problems. Quality first world problems.
Starting point is 00:44:08 They meant into message ZB upstairs. Problems. Yeah, that's giving big. You're looking for a husk. The mailman has delivered and love is not dead. I just got home from my best mate's house after a couple of drinks turned into both of us telling each other how much we love each other and how much we've felt for years. Wait.
Starting point is 00:44:23 What? Wait, wait, wait, wait. Did that song bring them together? Is that what you're saying? That's what I'm hearing. Hang on. They just got over my best mate's house after a couple of drinks sent into both of us telling each other how we've felt for years. We did they love the song?
Starting point is 00:44:38 But did they love my friend? Sorry. Sorry, love is blossoming and you're trying to poo-poo it by snipping off the branch. We're excited for you that you have done a good job. 2-1-8. Can we have a bit more info? The nation's invested now. Yes. This is a great love story.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Guy, guy, girl, girl, girl, guy. Who just... What's happened? Did you... How did you feel this way? How do you mean you just got home? How have you felt this way for years and not ever acted on it? This is wrong-pile-level stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:03 I believe the girlies are working the working... All this wasted time. Cancel what we got playing over. You sort of like... Immediately best of the same. When did you fall in love with your best friend? This song goes hard. Well done, Fletch.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Thank you. Should have been seven things. You can't please everybody. I know. I did think about that. It's a great song also. No, that's a man. This song came out when I was pregnant with my son and now I'm looking at a 13-year-old.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Wow. That's how old that song is. It's crazy because Miley to me is always so young. How old is Miley? 30 something? She'd be your age, wouldn't she? So young. Miley Cyrus.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Hey. So she's my age. She's like just cracking. Miley Cyrus is 33 years old. Wow. She was so young when she did that. Yeah. I thought I was much older than her.
Starting point is 00:45:44 She's been around forever. Yeah. You, flash in the pan. Okay, some more feedback. Someone said I'm glad you didn't play Ricking Ball, which was what I was pushing. We weren't she was pushing for that. We did call and play that.
Starting point is 00:45:56 I actually did say, can't stop those harder than Wrecking Ball. It's more of a jam. Ricking Ballad. But it's more of a power ballad. But, you know, we're after a... Okay, we're just going to like... Part of Flashback.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Park that 218 message. 218. No, not on board. Carry on. Can you just text us privately? Yeah, I'll message back. I'll be like, oh, we need more details, please. Yeah, yeah, but like, just text us privately.
Starting point is 00:46:17 We don't have to... We don't have to share it with a listener. Okay. Well, let's talk other gossip. Because that's really, that's tickled me. I'm so happy for you guys. Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez. They are back together roughly a decade after they first got together.
Starting point is 00:46:31 On, off, on, off. Pete, back, Ricky, hey, whoa. Which one was SpongeBob? Not Ricky. That was the last one. So Ricky, SpongeBob. No, Ricky, Pete, SpongeBob. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:46:47 So there's been a few between. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That will go down in history is one of the most punching relationships ever, right? All right, literally spun Bob and literally a princess. So, um, Producer's Cowan's looking at me. Have you got, have you got tea?
Starting point is 00:47:03 The girls have tea? Okay, so our lovely friend who just texts there about. Okay, Park Ariana and Ricky. He had quite a distinctive accent in fairness to him, so didn't want to go on here. But if you... I think I came in love with you. Was it that?
Starting point is 00:47:18 No. No. Okay, carry on. His previous message, we discussed this other day, he texts through about how he was going through quite a tough breakup. Yes, yes, I remember this. Oh, that was the one. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. He, during this time since this, has been consoling with this best friend.
Starting point is 00:47:36 Of course. And then, you know, there was some consoling last night, and they both confessed their feelings for each other. Oh, this is beautiful. Yeah. This is fantastic. One door closes, so another opens. Yeah, there was someone also laughing in the background, so I don't know if she's still there. Oh!
Starting point is 00:47:53 It's weird because when my marriage ended, I said to Fletch, you know, I've got my feelings for you. And he was like, it's time for you to leave. We've had our fun. And I was like, wow. I'm not just another booty call. He said, I'm happy to just like keep having fun, but this is not going any further. And I was like, can I use your kitchen aid? And he's like, no, no, it's time you let's.
Starting point is 00:48:12 That's why I had to buy my own kitchen. Yeah, that's the story of how they are. Well, you missed out because I'm taken now. Let's just, like, save their name and the thing so we can touch twice. Yeah, I said to please get back in touch. in the future because hopefully it moves forward. This is kind of what we want to know this morning. Yeah, like what was the, when did your on again, off again, go well?
Starting point is 00:48:32 Or like, how did it go? Because Ariana Grande, you know, she does that performance. She's like, I want to think it would be a... David was a... And she said in her concert recently with their closing night in London, I hope that Ricky is forever, or I hope that Ricky's the last one. So everyone was like,
Starting point is 00:48:48 audience went crazy. So on again, off again. Like, how did it... When did you successfully? make the on again, off again work. Yeah, get back with an ex after a while and it worked out. Yeah, because sometimes it's just timing? Yeah, and it might have been
Starting point is 00:49:01 you first got together, you're younger, and you maybe someone goes on the O-E, or... So two of my friends that have the most beautiful rock-solid marriage, I know, right? Yet. No, no, no, for... For now. For now. For now. For now. For now. They were together, like, wildly in love, and then just that
Starting point is 00:49:17 pull, like, I need to go and explore the world. I need to stay here. Brazilians? Yes. Yeah. the world and then came back and was like, no, it's you. It's like definitely you. That's great. That's pretty cute. Yeah, I know. Okay, well, I'll 800 dials at him.
Starting point is 00:49:31 We'd love to take your calls now. Text through, if you've got a story like this or you know someone this has happened to. 9-6-9-6. When did you successfully get back with an ex? Oh, wow, the Riz. Right now, we're talking about those... Like, when you're, the relationships that failed but then came back together and succeeded because Ariana Grande is back with Ricky Alvarez after 10 years of off again on again and then in her song where she changes the lyric for Thank You Next, she said, I hope that
Starting point is 00:50:02 Ricky is the last one basically. Julia, good morning. When did you successfully get back with an ex? Good morning. I got back with an ex about four and a half years ago. And what was a gap from when you started seeing each other again? So I first dated him when I was 15. Oh, wow. I went away, I moved towns to go and study, and then I came back and I was again with him at 17.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Okay. And then I went overseas and then came back, had family and got back with him when I was, I think, 35. Good God. Wait, so you went overseas, you came back, you met someone else and had, like, a family with them. Yeah, and then got divorced and reconnected, And we've got our first baby, Jew.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Oh, my God. It was just meant to be, Julia. Like, third time lucky. You were stumbed all around. Oh, my God. I mean, are you got a lovely family out of the other one? That's fine. But, oh, my God, I love this.
Starting point is 00:51:03 And do you feel so like everything is right? Oh, definitely. That's nice. That's nice. It's beautiful. Thanks, Julia. Messages in. I accidentally Snapchated my ex a video of my flat cat that had attacked a bird.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Not what I thought you were. Yeah Carlwin thought it too Because she reads smutty books Yeah I accidentally snapped A video of my flaccid cat That had attacked a bird
Starting point is 00:51:33 Two kids and ten years later We're still going strong It's all about timing Yeah Got back with my childhood sweetheart Really was a case of right person wrong time My bestie is currently living a romance movie She dated this guy in high school
Starting point is 00:51:45 For three years But split after graduation in 2016 as she was moving to America and they didn't want to hold each other back. Fast forward to 2023. So what's that? Seven years later, she's moved back. Two months later, she met him for a coffee as friends. They're now married and have a little baby.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Tell you, those coffees with friends are dangerous. Yeah. Oh, we're just catching up. No, no, no. You know, still really respect each other. This is me and my husband's story. We took two years apart after a decade. Now we're back together and happy than ever.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Sometimes you've just got to go and learn a few things, don't you? What kind of things? Tricks. Like pottery. Hottery. Hang gliding. Who you are. I don't need any encouragement.
Starting point is 00:52:22 I know where I'll be going tonight, lo. What, is someone, is someone going to be slipping into the X's DMs tonight? Is that what the... Okay. Yeah. They may be yearning after you. We're shaking your head like that.
Starting point is 00:52:36 Not everyone has to do. No, but there's plenty more fish in the sea, you know? Why, why tuck into another tetekehi when there's a snapper on that? There's a beautiful snap. There's a big. It's a big Atlantic salmon, Phil. Oh, yeah. There's a blue pot out there with your name on.
Starting point is 00:52:54 There's a groper out there. Yeah. And a John Dory and they open their mouth real wide. There's also some of those ones at the bottom of the deep sea that look a bit weird. The blobfish. Hey, we've all ended up with the blobfish. Maybe you are a blobfish. Maybe you are the blobfish.
Starting point is 00:53:07 And bless you. I am sometimes the blobfish and then I see it. I catch my own reflection in the ocean. Time to be a snapper again. Yeah. Any more fish in the CBD? That's good from you, four, three. It's Friday.
Starting point is 00:53:19 The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flesh, Forne and Haley. Right now it's time for Fact of the Day, Day, Day, Day, Day, Day. It's Al-Doodoo-Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo-Doo. Do-Dip to do. Do, do-da-to-do do. All right, it's Electricity Week.
Starting point is 00:53:46 It's Electricity Week here at Fact of the Day. and today's fact of the day is brought to you by St. Piers. He nearly forgot again, didn't he? I saw him during the song. We're singing. He's looking at the sheet. I think, holy shit, unprompted, he's going to remember. And then he gets into the jingle, the sheet goes down.
Starting point is 00:54:05 I was like, we're out. I'm a routine guy. Yeah, you are. I've got my established ways and neural pathways. Today's fact of the day. It is brought to you by St. Pierre's. Today's sushi of the day is eight pieces of smoked salmon avo. For $8.40 now, the way, you know what they say about salmon.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Why are you sound confused reading that? You've got to deliver it better than that. That made me want to buy less sushi than ever before, and I love sushi. Did it put you in a sashimi mindset? Today's fact of the day, brought to you by St. Pierre's. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, sushi of the day. They're not getting a freebie. I'm going to talk all over it.
Starting point is 00:54:43 I'm going to talk about it. They're not getting to freebies. They're not getting the freebie here on my show. They pay top dollar for it for once a month. Do you know what I could really go for some right now? Some smoked salmon and avocado. Great for the brain, of course. Is that what I, is that because I said it?
Starting point is 00:54:55 I need to get back into a bit of salmon. You know, I don't take the fish oil tablets because I burp and I don't know the taste of fish after it. You can smoke salmon, but you can also just do eight minutes in the air fry. Eight minutes in the air friar. Yeah, yeah. That's handy inconvenient. A bit of baking paper in there.
Starting point is 00:55:07 Crisp up the skin. Because I do need to get more salmon. Do you reckon if I go to Sin Piers today and I walk out and for sushi, they're going to go get out. We don't want to be associated with you. I was wondering. I have consulted sales. Are they able to stop sponsoring halfway through the month?
Starting point is 00:55:24 We got their money. We got their money. They're loving it. They're loving the job you're doing. Thanks everybody. When you remember. When you remember and add a bit of pep. Not today's sushi is some sort of salmon.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Again, maybe pre-read it. Anyway, carry on. Just some tips. My favorite form of electricity is lightning. I love when there's a thunderstorm. I love fork lightning the most. Sheet lightning. You're okay, but I like to see where it's hitting.
Starting point is 00:55:51 No, I like sheet lightning when it lights the sky. Yeah. What when you see the fore? Yeah, yeah. I like lightning when you're in an aeroplane. No. Oh. That's what I'm starting to pray to a god I don't believe in.
Starting point is 00:56:06 I'll chuck a few around too if I'm in a plane and we hit a bit of tubulets. I do all of them. Yeah, I'll do Allah. Yeah. I'll do Moses. Yep. Was he, I don't know if he, though. I do Zeus.
Starting point is 00:56:17 I'll do Zeus. I'll do Zeus. Jesus lay off with the lightning. I'm doing the elephant. I'm doing the blue elephant. The blue elephant. Yeah, with all the arms. Yes.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Buddha is getting Oshah. The Buddha's getting a red hot one. Buda. Krishna. Krishna will get a... Don't let me die, buda. Booter, don't let this plane go down, buda. Maui, camper vans.
Starting point is 00:56:36 Sure. Prade of the mouth. Yeah. Demigod of course. August run through the full list. When the planes dropping two. You're like, sorry for everything. I believe, I believe.
Starting point is 00:56:44 I take my phone out of the airplane mode and I Google. Just a list of gods. Top 10 gods. Top 10 most popular gods. I'm now going to Google top 10 gods. God's my popularity. I think that would be, I don't think Google will want to be at all
Starting point is 00:56:57 associated with the list of top 10. Jesus will be number one. Oh, God will be God will be God. God needs another name too because God's just God. There's no single official list. Yeah. Ask a day, I'm not afraid. Top 10 major gods by world mythology.
Starting point is 00:57:13 You're major gods. That's what you made. Zeus. Yep. Hot. Shiva, Hindu. Yeah. Vishnu also Hindo.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Vishnu is the elephant. Odin. Odin. Odin would be a great one to pray to. Ra, Egyptian. Yeah. Thor. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:27 Another Norwegian. Yeah, Norwegian. Can I help the thing that Jesus' dad's pretty pissed off these not at the top? But he's got, he's just, yeah. Armiteree-Missu. Huh? Japanese. Yum.
Starting point is 00:57:39 I know. Well, that finally a God that makes sense to me. Yeah. Worship and pudding. I'll worship pudding. I'll worship all the pot. Dear pudding, don't let this cane crash. I've been a true servant.
Starting point is 00:57:50 Dear delicious Italian coffee and cream-based pudding with sponge. I don't know how you've become worshipped in Japan, but I don't want to question it right now. You're a lady fingers, hear me now. If you let me land, I'll never pick key lime pie over you at a restaurant ever again. I might dip a time into pecan. Pecan pie. There's also Marduk, a Babylonian god.
Starting point is 00:58:12 I worship Mardik. Where's old mate white robe? board, it's inappropriate on a plane when it's going down for you to be worshipping. Excuse me. Can I have a blanket? You went though, eh? How quickly was it? How quickly were to go down? I don't think in that moment you'd be able to do that, Haley.
Starting point is 00:58:32 You don't reckon? No. Love a challenge. And then the... You press in the light, they're like, sir, we're plummeting to the earth. What do you want? Blank it, please. And then the plane just levels off at 10,000 feet and everyone's safe and then Vaughan gets seen by the police officers
Starting point is 00:58:49 when the plane lands and escorted off the flight. I don't even want to do the fact of the day I've had so much fun already it's just like a measure up to it. Okay, anyway, carry on. Lightning strikes the earth four million times a day. Right?
Starting point is 00:59:06 Can I just say also this guy's been anti-throat spray forever? He's always like, get off that throat spray. It's natural. No, this is a delicious. It's like honey. But go quiet again, this is what we just heard. Okay, this is what it sounds like. Sounds like someone's worshipping mad there.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Yeah, that sounds like it's real. As the planes come out of. Vaughn, Alan Smith. St. Piers do not want to be associated with this film. We've lost. This company, so much money in the space of 10 minutes. You've probably lost the sponsorship. Someone said, can you hurry up?
Starting point is 00:59:38 I'm trying to get out of the car. Yeah, they need to know the electricity fact. Come on, Vaughn. Okay. I can't even remember what it was. Lightning strikes. Sir. Four million times a day.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Each one of those bolts holds around 10 billion joules of energy. Okay, or 2,780 kilowatts. Yep. So what are we talking about? The average Kiwi household uses 8,500 kilowatts and energy of energy a week. So one bolt carries roughly enough energy to run the average New Zealand house for four months. Each thing? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:12 Nice. Well, we need some lightning catches. We need some lightning catches and some batteries. What? What? A big about it instead of these bloody soul about it. Well, you just think one little funnel
Starting point is 01:00:22 Yeah, I know. We need to catch the lightning. Rian says, I hopped out of the car at the beginning of fact that I've had a chat, turned back in, you guys are still going. The fact wasn't even that good. I laughed so hard.
Starting point is 01:00:34 It felt like the bits that hold my heart to the troops were going to come on. That's not good. I don't think that's good. Okay. So today's fact of the day. I better give them a free. because I feel like they might want to pull the sponsorship up.
Starting point is 01:00:48 You were in trouble with St. Pierre's. We're St. Pierre's. Another... The clunk. Clunk. Today's sushi of the day is eight pieces of smoke. Sam and have a caro for $8.40. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day.
Starting point is 01:01:06 Do do. Do do do do do do do do. To do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. The Fletchborn and Haley, Big Pod. Well, this is years ago that this first popped up. I was looking at my folder to find these. It was well back just when I first started on the radio with you guys, so four years, where I was on the internet,
Starting point is 01:01:34 and did someone message to me, or did I come across a stock image? And it's called Woman Sniffing Wind, and it is my face. And I just don't know how else to describe it, that woman is exactly me. Yeah. I thought when you were first like, I'm a stock image. They'd used me.
Starting point is 01:01:53 That actually, you actually had done a... No, no. That woman is not me. Like, her ears are slightly different to mine in shape, but other than that, she's the same... Better I'd say. Yeah. You're skinnier. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:02:05 That was such quick recovery. Your ears are skinny. No, no, no. I have said you've got skinny ears. Yeah, like, translate to the guts. Down, down, down, down, down, down, down. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, keep your last fat. No, no, no, no, down.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Come on, down, down, down. So she has my hair colour, my eyebrows, my eyelashes, my smile, everything about it. Your rosy cheeks, she's got the same cheeks. The apple cheeks, yeah. Because your side onto me now with that photo, there's exact same cheek. It goes like that. It's insane. And then there's another one of her, sniffing wind, woman sniffing the wind.
Starting point is 01:02:39 That's me, it's my mouth. Like, lips are like not thin but not full. Did you ever find out where she's. from? No, I couldn't find her. I reversed image search for ages. It's just stock image. So it's sort of this weird global thing. Anyway, wake up this morning early, too early. And my lovely, I was going to say delicious,
Starting point is 01:02:56 my delicious friend James Rockay, comedian, he lives over in Canada, so we're on a different, you know, timeline. What's he doing living in Canada? Comedy. Oh, big comedy's seen there. Big comedy scene in Canada. Yeah, Toronto. And he messages me, and he says, Bro, how is this? Not you. or did you do some stock image work?
Starting point is 01:03:15 And I was like, dude. I was like, I know, I said, this bitch, she haunts me. He said, do not tell me you've been sent this before. And I was like, yes, like 10 years ago I found this. And I sent him the photos of woman sniffing wind. And he said, that's the same lady. And this time, it is her. And she's not sniffing the wind.
Starting point is 01:03:34 She's reclined in a Chinese massage chair. No, she's still sniffing the wind. It's the same photo. They've just rotated her head. And I'm here they have. They've totally made it. I've just rotated the head. You're still sniffing the wind.
Starting point is 01:03:45 She is selling rest and go, 20 minute, you know, those like airport chairs. Airport massage chairs. Yeah, and I think somewhere in the world will be these in an airport or some kind of situation. And there's the sign. And it's going to look like Haley Sproul is saying, come for just P-100 for 20 minutes to reduce anxiety and depression,
Starting point is 01:04:09 increase well-being and calmness. Right. We've put a story on our photo. Yeah, to see woman sniffing wind. Sorry, we've put a photo on our story. Yeah. That's the one you're up. F-E-H-ZN.
Starting point is 01:04:19 It's woman-sniffing winds. It's literally exactly the same. They've mirrored it. Yeah. And like, because you look at how big that woman is compared to that chair. They've done a terrible job. They've really blown me out. They make you look like a giant woman in a child's chair.
Starting point is 01:04:32 I need to find, we need to find her, the model. She might maybe because this is old, like she's frozen in time, whereas I've been withered by age. Well, she may have been. weathered by age? No, that's what I mean, but we look at her like that? I'm like, what does she look like now? Where is she?
Starting point is 01:04:47 Has she gone to Turkey and got a laugh, as her doppelganger plans to do? Well, if you're in an airport and you see Haley advertising massage, Jess, it's not Haley. It's not me. The Fletch morning, Haley, big pod. A new study in personality and social psychology. And it looked at the singlehood self-expansion, the idea of singlehood self-expansion. Now, I promote this is the perk of being single, but to do. enjoy the perk of being single.
Starting point is 01:05:14 You have to see being single as a perk. Oh, yes, Dave, Ben. I do. You do. Yeah. Whereas you always... Not for the same reason you do, which is just been able to pretty much hook up with anyone you want.
Starting point is 01:05:26 I just do what I want. Which is exactly what I want. My perk and what I love about it is I do what I want. Single people... Yes. Oh, God, hurry up. Totally. Single people who believe their status of being single,
Starting point is 01:05:38 gave them room to grow and try new things and develop new skills and see new perspectives. actually did more novel and expanding activities than people who saw being single as the waiting room to being a couple. I found this so much when I became single and was on the dates, on the apps, and all of my friends who had been single for such a long time were like, oh my God, isn't it horrible? And I was like, I'm just having the best time. And that was the difference. I saw becoming single as a perk and an opportunity to go out and have a bit of freedom and a sense of
Starting point is 01:06:11 complete independence and no one can tell you what to do or whatever whereas they saw being single as something that they were like kind of trapped in and like were just waiting to get out of it right? Yeah and that's what you hear from people who are perpetually single when they stop looking they find someone because they're Yeah
Starting point is 01:06:28 You know Oh sorry I can punch the mic So the perk of being single is only Can only be a perk if you see it as a per As a per year So it doesn't mean they're doing everything by themselves because 82% of these growth moments that people indicated,
Starting point is 01:06:44 happened with other people, like friends or family, not romantic partners, so you weren't tied to this one person. You could do a range of things with a range of different people. Yeah. This is just,
Starting point is 01:06:54 so that's just Fletcher's life. Yeah. Yeah. Because he's like, he's always got somebody on the bloody blow at it have a Friday afternoon drink with, Dr. Shawnee or Mike or, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:03 you're just musin and perusing. Yeah, love it. But it's like anything. It's what you make it, right? It's what you make it. And I think there's some people, that would get to enjoy that for a moment and then be like, oh no, you know, I want someone to... Some people hate being someone.
Starting point is 01:07:18 Yeah, I want to do life with someone. But then those are the people that just end up in these relationships that they also hate. So I don't know what can make them happy. You can leave them. No, but they don't. Yes, no, they don't. They famously don't. No, I try to say this with all of my single friends.
Starting point is 01:07:32 I say to all my single friends. Like, if you're single and... Father's Day Sunday, Sunday, single friends. If you're single and you don't want to be, it's fine. You know, you stay on the app, stay engaged, stay out there. But like, go and do all the things that you can do because no one's telling you no. Buy the things. Take the trip.
Starting point is 01:07:50 Go and see the things. Because once you have another life to consider, you have to make compromises. Yeah. Play Z-Ns. Flash, Forne and Haley. Fate in the date. Flet's just left the end at the gap there at the end of the Blacklow piece. song in case someone was taping it off the radio.
Starting point is 01:08:12 It used to annoy me when you guys would talk over it man. Well we don't do that anymore. You can tape it and we'll leave nice, fat ends of blank away for you to tape. Now Brooke joins us. Good morning again, Brooke. Morning, feeling much better today. Oh good. Normally that early starts a bit of a drag but I'm excited. Yeah, well I've got a little treat for you
Starting point is 01:08:28 so if you've just joined the show Brooke is our night host and I'm helping her. I'm her wing woman helping you on your quest for love which so far has been unsuccessful. No results as of yet, but optimistic. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:42 Okay, good, good, good. And Eclipse is joining us, and we're putting our fate in the date. Now, you know, at the bottom of an eclipse, I'm on the grape ones, by the way. Oh, yum, I love the grape ones. You're little treats. And I have a grape one.
Starting point is 01:08:52 I'm the best before date. So mine now is 11 November 26th. There's always dates. Okay. And we're putting our fate in the numbers. A lot of people following numbers. You're not telling us your ego. He's a grape.
Starting point is 01:09:02 Thank you. You're not telling us your... I always do two, by the way. Always. Yeah, that's standard. Always. And same a chewing gum. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Free's a crowd, two's perfect. To see if there's a match in the numbers. Did I tell you, I've literally been seeing my number everywhere. Like on the bus this morning, I saw my number. I just feel like so aligned with it. Are you the 275 Sandringham? Why do you know that? Don't.
Starting point is 01:09:25 That was the bus that Helen Clark's husband used to take to get to the... 275 Sandringham. When Vaughn lived in Sandringham, Pety used to take the bus from uni. Wow. Yeah, is that your bus? That's a really good route. It like drops me off right here. Oh, that's perfect.
Starting point is 01:09:37 We're not here to talk about buses. we're here to talk about love. The number. The number of the bus, right? The number. That's all aligning. So I presented you a short, quick little list of people that I've been submitting at Zenim online to go on a date with you. I think that maybe they know someone who could fall in love with Lovey Brooke.
Starting point is 01:09:54 And one of the people I presented to you, you immediately said no. Oh, no, is this? Because his name was a tank engine. Yes, correct. Thomas. Well, after the show, Thomas. Oh, I'm so sorry. He goes by Tommy.
Starting point is 01:10:05 Good morning, Tommy. How we going. Good. Bloody good, Tommy. Now, what do you think of Brooke? Like, poo-pooing you straight away because your name's Thomas. Oh, that's what it is.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Only up from here. I like to start on a bad foot. Tommy's pretty relaxed. Now, Tommy, before we let you chat to Brock, what I'm going to do is we're going to put on a one-minute time, a bit of a speed date situation for you, Brock. Cool. Tommy, I'm going to hit you with a bunch of questions
Starting point is 01:10:32 that I personally want to know on a first date to try to get to know you a little bit. And afterwards, Brooke, we'll have a little vibe check, a little number check. Now, we believe Tommy's number. I've got Tommy's number here. It's 10-01-27. That's on the bottom of Tommy's Eclipse 10.
Starting point is 01:10:46 Eclipse 10. Does that date do anything for you, Brooke? It does. It does. She's being very cagey with it. Okay, Tommy, are you ready? 27 is in the bus route number. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:10:58 Yeah, it's actually a really good point. The 275's Andrew. I'm just saying. Okay, Tommy, can I hit you with some questions? And then, hold on. So 27 and then a 10-7. divided by two is five times one is five. That's math, not spiritual sort of soul connection.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Oh, we're not doing maths. No, you're just doing math. No, that's... Like that TV show where they put up all the numbers and you have to make it work, the other number. No. That's a lotto. Okay, Tommy, we're going to have 60 seconds.
Starting point is 01:11:29 Haley's going to hit you with some questions now for our speed dating round. Quick questions. Your time starts now. Tommy, cats or dogs? Cats. Do you still follow your ex on Instagram? Yes. Do you have a 10-year plan? Yes. If Brooke was to come to your house, what would you cook her?
Starting point is 01:11:47 Chicken karaoke. Yum. Someone cuts you off by not merging properly. How do you react? I don't. Wow, calm. Brooke is premenstrual behaving like an absolute menace. What is one sentence you say to her to calm her down without using the words calm down? Do you want some chocolate? Oh, get it. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Have you... Was that a minute? We're moving that. No, we're still got 29 seconds. Tommy, have you ever won a competition in your life? Yes. Gold or silver? Gold.
Starting point is 01:12:17 Winter or summer? Winter. Are you close with your family? Yes. Do you have a job? Yes. Are you a feminist? The answer.
Starting point is 01:12:28 The answer is always yes. That's right. We'll explain the term feminism to you. Did you finish high school? Yes. Oh, there we go 60 seconds. Listen, we'll forgive you the fitness. Hey, the chocolate, could that chocolate.
Starting point is 01:12:42 There was an array of good answers and then some... What about it? I've written some down there that I had a question mark beside Friends with X, follows X on Instagram, Brooke. What do we think of that? It depends because in my head that goes, ooh, it's an unfinished business, but also maybe it just ended nicely, Tommy. Tommy, do you want to expand on that at all?
Starting point is 01:13:01 Yeah, no, no, it was... It ended very, very mutually, very good. Okay. Well, we will be unfollowed. blowing her if this goes forward, Tommy. I'm just saying. Yeah, yeah. Just to let you know, we'll be blocking that bitch.
Starting point is 01:13:12 Yeah. And let's mute her stories in her post. You don't heart react to her stories, though, do you, Tommy? Yeah. I don't react to any of her stories, no. Okay. Can I ask how old you are, Tommy? I'm 27.
Starting point is 01:13:24 27. Do you like Hot Models photos on Instagram too, Tommy? That could be a good question for the next speed dating. Oh, yeah, what celebrities do you follow? That's so telling. Oh, that's a really good question. We'll save that for the next speed round. Trip and Terriarchy?
Starting point is 01:13:34 Is that a sort of a goop packet? chicken terriaki or you make it from scratch? I do use a bottled sauce. Oh, yum. Yeah, I can't tell the difference. You can't tell the difference. It's actually better than when you make it from scratch. Yeah, there's more sugar.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Oh, love. Yeah, love that. And Tommy, can I ask you, like, in the nature of putting fate out there into something like a date or some numbers? Are you a bit woo-woo? Are you open-minded to the idea of fate? Yeah, no, definitely am. Okay, well, this is great.
Starting point is 01:14:05 Well, fantastic. I think you did quite well. Tommy, we are going to come back to you. I mean, we'll come back to you. We're not going to give the decision now. But, look, just a first impression. I think the feminist thing, there's a little. But I think Tommy's got his head screwed on.
Starting point is 01:14:19 And the dates do line up somewhere. Okay. Okay. Okay, well, we are putting our fate in the Eclipse Mint's best before date. You can go to ZM online now and let us know your Eclipse Best Before Date Date to see if we can make a match. Maybe we could get you on our next speed dating round. My best before date is 1111.
Starting point is 01:14:36 That's angel numbers. 1111. 1111. Yeah. Everything happens at 1111. Mine's at 11th of 11th. It is. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:40 That's crazy man. That's crazy man. Okay, love this. Thank you, Brooke. Leave it with me. I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to organise you a couple more of these. Yeah. You know kind of like those old shows?
Starting point is 01:14:53 Contestant number one was Tommy. I think he did quite well. Contest number two. Maybe I'll organise them for a Tuesday. Okay. If you don't mind getting up early again. No, not for this. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Play ZM's Flashforn and Haley Right now, I want to know from you When did you do something Just because a friend did If Jessica jumped off a bridge Would you follow it? Yes, mum, I would Well if she landed and came up
Starting point is 01:15:17 And like while she had fun Maybe it's a fun bridge jump Yeah, exactly Did you, how long, when did you meet your best friend? When I was four Did you go to the same high school? No Because you went to private school
Starting point is 01:15:26 I went to private, she went public Was that hard? Terrible Because I would imagine You would have just gone public just to go with your best friend fought with my parents relentlessly to go, I need to go to the same school as Jess,
Starting point is 01:15:38 and they're like, no, you're a rascal, and we need to confine you within the Presbyterian bounds of Queen Margaret's. How did that go? It was fine. I hated not being with Jess, but our friendship was strong enough by that point. But so I'm asking this because Ariana, again, we talk about Ariana, has pulled out of a Stephen Sondheim West End Revival musical called Sunday in the park with George
Starting point is 01:16:04 and that she announced this and was like, no, I'm not going to do it anymore. Because she's retreating to, she's got a lot of work to do, right? She's stepping back from the limelight. She's in public. Looking after herself. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:17 Doing a bit of self-care out of the limelight stuff. And then Jonathan Bailey was like, nah, I don't want to do it. And he's like, are you just doing it because she's not doing it. Because they're friends, right? Yeah, they are friends. I'm guessing he signed up because she was doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:31 He said the show... Wicked friends. Yes, they are. So he said, like followed her out basically in a statement. He said she's one of my dearest friends. My support for her is unwavering.
Starting point is 01:16:43 It's just a passion project and I'm just going to step back after you know, he doesn't need to do that show. And also like, I've done this before when you're like, oh my God, you're doing this thing, you're doing this gig,
Starting point is 01:16:52 that's going to be so cool, we're going to have so much fun and then they don't do it or they can't do it or they're like, oh, lame. I'm not going now. Yeah, lame. Now I'm going to do this shit thing
Starting point is 01:16:59 and you're not going to be there. This is what we want to know this morning. What have you done because a friend did? And maybe it was something reckless, you know, you're in Vegas and she's like, I'm going to get a tattoo and you're like, fine. Or maybe it was go to the same school or go to the same uni or study the same thing just because a friend did. Yeah, maybe you didn't have a vision.
Starting point is 01:17:16 Yeah. And you just went, okay, what are you doing? I'll just do that. Maybe it was holidaying somewhere just because of friend did. You would never normally go there. Yeah. Whatever it is. 0800 dial at em is the number.
Starting point is 01:17:26 You can text through 9-6-96. What did you do just because a friend did? Ariana Grande pulling out of a West End production, Jonathan Bailey following suit. Does he want to do it without it? Is he taking this bloody little glasses with him? He is. God, I've never seen a man flirt so hard with another man. His way towards you.
Starting point is 01:17:42 When with me and hum. Yeah. It was real wild. It was wild chemistry. What was at Jurassic Park? It was terrible. It was and I had to pretend. We had to pretend it was good and it wasn't.
Starting point is 01:17:53 It was terrible. It was awful. But they were all so lovely, weren't they? Don't say that. Why are you, Melbourne? Don't say that. It was so. It's not in the movie jurisdiction
Starting point is 01:18:02 The three of us literally got in my car afterwards and we're like, oh Jesus. Everyone said it was a pig. But they were all lovely. They were lovely, not their problem. Sorry if we fooled you into going on that movie. Well, great. The CGI was great.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Got you. I love dinosaur part. Yeah. Why were they on a boat for so much of it? This is my first day and work and I'm apparently learning a new language. You're a good boy. I love the dinosaurs.
Starting point is 01:18:23 Yeah, yeah. Jonathan Bailey was doing the West End production and Ariana pulled out and didn't want to do it. So we've asked you what did you do just because a friend did it. Kim, what did you do because of a friend? Hello. So my bestie swam, well, decided to swim at 100 different beaches in a year.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Wow. And I loved the ocean. So I thought I got inspired and followed in her footsteps. Wait, when did she do this? Was it in New Zealand or all over the world? In New Zealand. We are just one big beach. We are just one big beach, New Zealand.
Starting point is 01:18:57 Exactly. But where do you, like, say you're at the mound and you like go for a little walk, he's technically on the same beach, right? No, it's like in Auckland, though, when they say this one's pooey and the one connected to it isn't pooey. But it is pooey. And we're like, it's still the same beach. Yeah, still the same beach.
Starting point is 01:19:12 They've got different names. If it's got a different name, it counts as a beach. So how many have you done? I'm on number 70. Oh, my God. And so there's no limit to this. You just keep going until you get to 100. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:24 And then I guess keep going after that. Right. And then, so do you just use all your time off to go to a different beach in some part of the country? Yeah. Yes, but yeah, I've been a bit slack. It's taken a few years. How can they have to be ocean beaches? Because sometimes lakes have little beach sides, don't they?
Starting point is 01:19:39 I know. I was in Lake Harware, and I thought it was called a beach. And I thought, oh, does that count, but I haven't added it. So New Zealand has thousands of beaches along its vast coastline. Millions of beaches. Beaches for me. Millions of beaches. Shannon doesn't know that's a song.
Starting point is 01:19:55 Shannon's like, Shannon thinks you're making up a song. Beeching has come from a can. They were put there by a man in a factory down. Grow up, Shannon. Grow up, Shannon. Oh, funny. Okay, so Kim, how's your friend going? Is she at 100?
Starting point is 01:20:10 Yeah, she reached that probably a couple years ago, and I started it once. She'd sort of finish, and I got inspired. I love this. That's a cool thing to do, ma'am. And what a great way to see our beautiful country, you know? It's really gorgeous. It's so lovely.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Exactly. Until you end up at a new dispeller. speech and you have no idea. I did that once but I was the only one without clothes on. Again, Haley, it wasn't a nude speech. I kept re-googly. They said this one was nude. I'll tell you what, no one else knew it.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Kim, thank you. Amy, what did you do because of a friend? My good girlfriend had a phenomenal date about 10 years ago and was like, that's it. He's the one. So I decided that she met on Tinder. So I decided to jump on the baguaded and get back on the at.
Starting point is 01:20:56 Yeah. Fast forward, I'm married. Oh, she's not single. Oh, no. How's that gone down? Yeah. Oh, look, she was candidate at our wedding giving a mate of honor speech.
Starting point is 01:21:10 Oh, okay, so everyone's happy. That's great. Okay, well, it'll work out, didn't it? Yeah, yeah. For some of us. Kind of. Yeah, Amy, thank you. Nicole, what did you do because of a friend?
Starting point is 01:21:22 I got my knuckle pier. Oh. They never go back. They never go back to normal. when you take the... No, I've seen some munted nips in my mangled nips. I've chewed up.
Starting point is 01:21:32 I've chewed on them too. Yeah, I'll chew that back. You know, sometimes in a western they'll ride a horse between those big canyons? Yeah. Yeah, like that. Or a crevice, an ice crevice. Have you still got it, Nicole?
Starting point is 01:21:44 No, I only left it in for a few days. It was really sore. Yeah. Okay, so when you, how is that nipple looking? If you don't mind me asking, please tell me if I'm overstepping. I think you're overst stepping the... Oh, I'll ask. Are you okay?
Starting point is 01:21:55 Yeah, okay, you ask. It's totally normal now. Nicole, see, how's the nipples looking normal now? Yeah, totally normal. Okay, it's a bit creepy even when you say it, to be honest. Yeah. Get the tone. Fletch, you want to try asking you how to.
Starting point is 01:22:07 You try. Okay, Nicole, how's your nips? No. Is that worse? No. I'll try to be the least creepy on the show for once. Nicole, if you don't mind me asking, medically, has the nipple recovered? Yes, it has.
Starting point is 01:22:18 That was better. Yeah, that was better. Can we see if, no. No. No. No. And we'll stop there. Thank you, Cole.
Starting point is 01:22:24 We'll stop there. Some messages in. Two of my, somebody else got the nipples paced as well. An American exchange student got their nipple pierced. She had both of her nipples paced and I was like, I'll get it done too. Didn't look quite the same of my A cups as her double Ds. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:39 Yeah, you sort of need a juicy. Sort of a cature. A juicy couture. A pair of sweatpants. Yeah, the bigger than it. To wear. My friends were keen on doing the trimoldi. This is, I assume, a triathlon.
Starting point is 01:22:52 organized by or for Māori. That's not a three-way with two Māori. That's what I thought it was. I'll try. Yeah, all the time. Yeah, absolutely. Double try. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:06 We'll let's spread our, spread our a wee around. Yeah, absolutely. Nati pro in there. Hit me with your Pepe-Hard before we go. Yeah. Get it all in there. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:15 Yeah. Co-eckoppa. Yeah, exactly. Co-haelio. Yeah. Here we go. Go with. Wow.
Starting point is 01:23:23 Don't be so hard of yourself. So we did a tri-mody. I ended up being the swimmer. I didn't train for it. Just did it to be with my friends. God, it was hard. Swimming's the part of the triathlon. You've got to be trained for.
Starting point is 01:23:36 Because anyone can sit on a bike. Anybody can put one leg after the other. So I didn't. Cyclist listeners, anyone can sit on a bike. Yeah. I mean, no, anyone can go on a bike. It's hard and you'll be slow. But if you can ride a bike, you can ride a bike.
Starting point is 01:23:49 If you're just like, yeah, I swam once. Yeah. It's the hardest. You can do it. Two laps of late Carapiro. I got out after one, felt like I was going to die. And I was just like, I can't. I'll die.
Starting point is 01:23:59 You've got to train if you're going to swim. Yeah. My high school best and I ditched school and got matching peach tattoos on our butts. Only did it because she wanted to, so why not? Wait, so there was a tattoo artist that had two schoolgirls walk in. Chuck a peach on each of their butts. Unless I do you have consent from your parents and you say yes? And they go, okay.
Starting point is 01:24:20 My bestie, encouragement. We're going to move to Texas with her in our 20s to become a nanny. I didn't leave in light kids, but I stayed for three years and it was the best time of my life. Applied to be a career firefighter. My mate was, we both got hired. Best job ever, worst employer ever. Oh, yeah. Well, they're still...
Starting point is 01:24:36 Finn... Yeah, they're still protesting, aren't they, for their pay. Yeah, if you see all the trucks going by, this will go all the writing on them. Yeah. Let's go back to this trying Māori. Witnesses this. Now, I would say... it's been, you know, winter, we're at the end of it.
Starting point is 01:24:54 We're officially entering spring, which means, you know, the long winter of kind of letting a lot of the grooming go, we've got to address it. Oh, yeah. You know, you're going to go, whew, man, I really let it all get a bit wayward. There's a beauty editor for Basel, which is like a website magazine type thing. Okay. And she was saying she's noticed over a long winter that her bathroom
Starting point is 01:25:22 time, like her like self-care grooming, like relaxing time, turned a little bit more into criticism. So instead of going, I'm going to do this, got more into like picking at bumps and looking at splittines and kind of over-analyzing her body under the harsh overhead bathroom life that she had in her bathroom. Okay. Now, I was smart enough when I renovated to put in soft, dimable sconces. Yes, I can, okay, I'm dating a troll cave, a cave troll.
Starting point is 01:25:50 Yeah, why? She loves low light. Like she's... So, yeah. Troll Caves, probably a terrible way of describing my girlfriend. But she's a glow worm. A glow worm. Oh, that's...
Starting point is 01:26:00 She lights low light. Yeah. You said troll cave. I said... I said... Women don't let that guy. She's a cave troll. I've said to her, I was like, it's like living in a cave.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Like, sometimes the light's so low. And she, everything's like low light. And I turn on one light in her house and she's like, that light never gets turned on. And it's a bit much. And it does. It can sometimes just make you feel, you know? And it's like going into a... bloody changing room and they've got the downlights.
Starting point is 01:26:22 You're standing and they're like, fluorescence? Is that my body? Yeah, they light you right up. So she has become a harsh, a hard advocate for something that I advocate for, dark showering.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Yep. Dark showering. Candle, do you have to do a candlelight shower? Oh, I've done that. That's nice. If you don't have dimable, I mean, because we always see the idea of like a candle in a bath maybe,
Starting point is 01:26:43 but showering, your daily shower, particularly when maybe you're not feeling your best. Yeah. You're not feeling all too hot. she won't put the light on at all she'll light a couple of candles she gets into the shower
Starting point is 01:26:55 and she's like I don't need to see anything in here and it becomes more of a relaxing sensory kind of thing she's got the warmth she's feeling you know like the suds and the products and everything and she said it's a game changer and it becomes actually what that thing is about
Starting point is 01:27:10 which I mean getting clean but like taking care of yourself and looking after yourself so even if there is a mirror you're not seeing all the imperfections little bumps I mean, you might need to turn things on to pluck a monobrow or something like that. I would advocate for if you are going to dark shower, at least somewhat of a light source, because, you know, slippery surfaces, tripping hazards.
Starting point is 01:27:30 Producer Shannon says no reason to even turn on a light in the shower because... I often pitch black shower because I wear contact lenses and if I get to the end of the day and I swap them out for glasses, I can't wear those in the shower. And light blurry is just harder to see than dark blurring. Totally, you're not seeing detail anyway. Yeah, because I'm legally blind, like I'm far, far gone. So I would just rather be in pitch black blurriness than trying to decipher things.
Starting point is 01:27:58 And so I just know what my shampoo is versus my conditioner. I'll shave in pitch black. I've done that a few times. I was going to say, you missed the part of your mustache. But she says it does everything because you can't see as much. You just naturally slow down. So she's like, in the shower, she's also. Yeah, that's what it is.
Starting point is 01:28:17 Ripping this and getting out. It's like you take a bit of time feeling around and get the thing. I'm like, I love this. And it is, it's like, you don't have to be in the dark to like yourself, but it's like it's a much nicer experience. I would recommend it. A lovely candle. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:32 And get a nice wafty one. Or a beeswax because it shoots out that yellow sort of like ambilicious. Put a little portable speaker in there, if you will. Well, try that this weekend some dark showering. If you do fall over. break something, it's not on us, that's you. Oh, we are not liable. If you slip over and the head and shoulders bottle goes up your bots,
Starting point is 01:28:54 again, you go to A&E and get that taken care of, but that's not our fault. And no one's going to believe you. No one will believe you. How did the jar of edge you might get in the show? Oh, another one in the bag. It's a Versace bag as well. If you enjoyed that, give us a rating and review
Starting point is 01:29:10 and be sure to tell your mates. You don't sound sincere there, boy. I'm just reading what's written here. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
