Starting point is 00:00:00 from the ZDM podcast network. This is... Fleshwin and Haley's Big Pod. Thanks to animates, making happy happen for pets. Good morning, happy Wednesday. Welcome to the show, Fletch Fawn and Haley.
Starting point is 00:00:13 Today on the show, the hottest tickets in town. Oh my God. I was like, which artist? Many artists. The WOWAS. The Waz.
Starting point is 00:00:25 That's right. You missed out on tickets yesterday. Yeah, when I was... See, this was a big screen job and I did it on my phone. And that's where I feel I went wrong. As a millennial, I've got to sit down at a big computer for the big jobs, but I did it on my phone on the app. Yeah, that's madness.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Oh, but never. I was in a waiting room from like five minutes out. But when I got in, I was like four, what did I send you guys a screen cap? I was like 5,000th in line. Yeah. This is never happening. Finally get in. There's like two sections of seats left.
Starting point is 00:00:55 I click on one section, watch the last two tickets from there disappear, went to the other section, wants to last. and so I was very upset. However, I've got myself four tickets and I've got listeners two tickets this morning. He's a good man, he's a good man.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I pulled some personal strings here. Did you pull it? Do you know who I am? No, I didn't pull it. I know who I am. I've sold my soul. Okay. To various people.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Good stuff. We're probably going to have to do a promotion for someone, are we? That's okay. We'll do it so you can go to once. Well, the one NZ warriors are taking on the Dolphus. It's a sold-out qualifying final at Go Media Stadium.
Starting point is 00:01:33 And today on the show at some stage before 10 o'clock, the activator will play asking you to call through. The first call to through, you get a double pass to see the Warriors. This weekend, the 1NZ Warriors taking on the Dolphins. All thanks to 1NZ that double pass to give away today on the show. Sold out. Also free fuel, 8 o'clock. Yesterday we gave away $1,267 or $76 of fuel.
Starting point is 00:01:58 One of those? One of those, $1,200 of fuel. That was the most. And this is, we don't hear the, we don't know when we play the countdown what it's going to be. BP rewards just go up and down. But this went down and we were like, say stop! Oh my God. With your chance, thanks to BP to get some free fuel this morning at 8 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:02:18 The top six is on the way. Yeah, mushroom killer Erin Patterson has been approved for taxpayer-funded Ozenpick while she's in prison. Now, what a headline that was to read yesterday. Wow. People weren't happy, were they? No. So I've got the top six medications I'd do a stint in prison for. It's very expensive. Oh, yeah, I didn't.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Next on the show, though, we head to Christchurch, where a pack and save is fighting a losing battle. Play Z-N's, flesh, worn and Haley. This, I had no idea, and I apologise to Christchurch listeners who are listening right now and being like, yeah, biotch, we know. The massive pack-and-save on Morehouse Ave.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Yep. Right? I know I can picture it. now. But what I haven't pictured is thousands of red-billed gulls who have occupied the building. Are they sea-gulls? Yeah, sea-galls.
Starting point is 00:03:09 What makes them red-billed? They've got a red beak. Black and black-boom gulls. Guess, she might not get this. Guess how you identify a black-build girl. If a red-billed girl has a red beek, then a black-billed guy. So black-billed guy.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Sort of colour indicating. Blacks. Are they black feathers? Yeah. Don't some have orange? Orange build? Orange build girls. Aren't Seagull's orange as well?
Starting point is 00:03:39 Do they have orange? Or is that the big ones? The Albatrosses. Or the mobile. No, they've got a standard greyish. Right. Why does so many of them have one leg? They're tricking you into giving you a chip.
Starting point is 00:03:54 They don't. It's tucked up there. And then you're like, oh my God, you poor ampute. Oh, gosh, yes. You're going to get so confused, Hayley, because there's a girl called the Great Black Backed Goal. Now, guess what part of their body is black? If it's black as...
Starting point is 00:04:08 Their backs. No, they're white. Correct. No, they're a bit grey. So, these are the Red Build Gulls. Since 2013, the Red Bulls have roosted on the roof of Pack and Save Morehouse in Christchurch. And this year, it's gotten so much worse. So they're nesting up there.
Starting point is 00:04:28 They are nesting. And apparently it's an ornithologist. It's a person that studies birds. Bird person. Yeah. Bird boy, Peter Langlands, says this is a nationally significant chunk of the whole species. That go to Morehouse Ave in Christchurch. Get up there and shoot them all.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Oh, Carl. And they are using it. We're going to move them along. They are using it over winter as a breeding zone. Oh, good. The stink. The stink. Why there, they say it's safe but still open.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Predator free, so the stoats and rats and stuff aren't up on the Moorhouse Air Pack and Say. Purses up there. A couple of pusses. A couple of pussy cats. A couple of pussie cat. We've got to move them somewhere else. It's elimination. I don't think the cats will do much.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah. So, and the rain that hits this massive tin roof washes away all their mess. And so they're like, this is a self-cleaning. Bloody shag pads. Just like shag and shit wherever you want guys, the rain comes and it washes away all of our mess. It's this beautiful sort of like silky, you know, like beautiful clear material, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:42 that just washes away easily. And then you can pop down and says for two broccoli for $3. So exactly. And so... Get some bread out of the bin. Apparently the numbers of the Parapunga, which is the red-billed gull, have halved...
Starting point is 00:05:56 It's got a Māori name. We can't. You can't get up there in bloody coloured. No. The minute you do that. The minute you give a name in the Rio. Protected. There's not killing.
Starting point is 00:06:06 The past since 1983 due to changes in marine food. There's all the snapper downstairs. Yeah. There's Tata Kihei. I'd love to get into the muscle bin. There's a muscle bin. There's a muscle bin. I'd like to get into the squirty muscle bin.
Starting point is 00:06:16 So people have been filming them. And there's one video where a husband goes, run. They're going to shit on you. Apparently it's just awful. It's just like awful to go there. Pack and save has declined comment. Because obviously they don't want that.
Starting point is 00:06:33 What can they do? Can they get up there and shoe them away? Or why don't you get up there and scare them away like a scarecrow? Yeah, I could. I'll get my got my goth gears on. Look, they're actually cute though. Yeah, well, that just looks like a seagull to me. No, no, no, no. They don't look like your basic bitch, beach seagulls.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I always feel sorry for the seagull in Bird of the Year because someone's like, well, you know who we're supporting for Bird of the Year? Yeah, I know, because it's easy to support the beautiful little little. little, I mean, all of the birds, I can get behind all of these birds, except for the singer. Oh, but there's no lot in this photo. Yeah, there's a lot, isn't there? Oh, they're just, do you think it's someone from Woolworths? It's just chucking bread up there?
Starting point is 00:07:12 100. Crazy person. It's, old stabbatage. It's sabbatish from Woolwurst. They're just chucking up from stale buns. Woolworth's and New World got together, and they had a little hurw in. No, Woolworth's. They're owned by the same people.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Mm. So New World Square. Daringn't be involved. They could be slingsshodding up stale buns. They will be. They'll be. They'll be. shooting stale buns onto the roof. And I'll be putting rats up there
Starting point is 00:07:30 in what, oh no, no, they want the birds there, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're feeding them. It's a protected, the redbird got, you're in big trouble for saying they should shoot it. It's a protected species. Fletch, I didn't stand by what Fletch said, I felt it in the moment. Well, I'll take back my comments, I would never, ever shoot a protected bird.
Starting point is 00:07:47 What's its Māori name? Exactly. Zarapunga. Exactly. Good boy. I am I on the work. What do you mean, exactly? What's its Māori name? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:07:58 The ZNM Podcast Network. Regular listeners to the show may remember that I talked about this very scam as a warning to our listeners. There's too many scams around at the moment. Months ago, I think. Elegant. Yeah, months ago, I think we talked about this.
Starting point is 00:08:13 But it has been appearing fake QR code stickers on Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch parking meters. Parking meters? So, you know, you'd go up to the meter and you'd scam? Number plate. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:26 No, you'd say. scan the QR code on the machine to pay. Oh, there's a couple of those. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like I was just in New Plymouth, they have a QR code and it takes you to the app or the council website. Yes, there's one around the corner from us. Yes. So people are putting a sticker over or just putting a sticker on the meter. And then creating a website?
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yes, and then scamming people. And then putting a pay portal. Yeah, and then so there might be scamming like a dollar or two or three at a time. I know, but then you're getting double scammed because of me, I've scanned. I've given you my money. and then I'm going to get a parking ticket because they haven't given the meter man the money. And you're probably also giving them your credit card too.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Yeah. So parking wardens in Auckland around the place have been told if they see these to be on the lookout, peel them off. Oh, like to look up close to if it's a sticker. And they've said in Auckland, just use the AT parking app. Yeah. Which is great because you can stop your parking as soon as you finish.
Starting point is 00:09:19 You don't have to pay... So much cheaper. So good, yeah. And unless you forget to stop it and you drive halfway to ham. They do set the base level at 12 hours parked here. And you're going to go, who-s! Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:30 I'm here for 15 minnsbra. Totally. This is very, oh, God, it's very sophisticated. I know, because you think about all the times you use a QR code, like you go to restaurants or bars or cafes. I'm like a Karen boomer when it comes to a QR code in a restaurant. How hard is it to just come and say hello? And give me some service?
Starting point is 00:09:48 No, I actually like it because when you're with a group of friends, you just pay for what you get. I know. I do like that part, and at the end you just leave. Yep. But, you know, a hello and a, what can I get you? I mean, they still ask you to tip, don't they, these apps? So funny, I'm sorry, what?
Starting point is 00:10:03 You did nothing. You did nothing. You did nothing. Well, they bring it to your table, but still. I'd say that's the bare minimum of the job. Yep. Is to walk it to my mouth. We've got to look out. This reminds me of like when credit card scanners was the big thing.
Starting point is 00:10:21 When on an ATM machine. Oh, yeah, they had a skimming. They had a skimming. That's what it was. Yes. And everyone was like, you've got to look out on the lip of where you put the card in. Because didn't you get done? Yeah, when I was in Thailand.
Starting point is 00:10:34 And then it was just, and it took everything from my bank account. And then. Was that a machine or over the counter you gave it? Because you never let them take your card out of your sight. It was a machine. And it scammed. It skimmed my card and took everything. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And then luckily I was there with a friend who walked past someone that had one of those pocket. This is why we get the sleeves from Kathmandu. Only boomers get those. The RFID blocker. But she walked past a pocket and got hurt. So we were two girls in Thailand with no money. With no money.
Starting point is 00:11:07 It was terrifying. No offence, but you look like you'd be an easy mark in Thailand. What? 100%. Two absolute tosses who have like had two buckets of cocktails and no money. God help us. Play Z-Ns, Fleshhorn and Haley. When I was young and when I first,
Starting point is 00:11:25 discovered sort of witchcraft and whatnot. During the school holidays, I've definitely talked about this before, people would go to sports camp, basketball camp, you know, whatever. And me and my best friend Jess went to witch school in the heart. Speaking of which, we are talking
Starting point is 00:11:42 about practical magic too on the show today. I know! Because the producer girlies have had a sneak peek, a watch of the movie, and we've got a review of that soon. And you can think, you know, of my age, that was a perfect time. Yeah. To see that movie, I was like, that's me. So I went to this like witch school, these witch courses, and one of them was about kind of reading.
Starting point is 00:12:02 In Lower Hut, there was a witch school. Yeah, there was sort of a fairies and gems store called Arcadia. Anyone from the Heart listening is like Arcadia. I don't know if it's still there. And we went to these holiday program witch schools for kids. Don't know how our parents sort of teed this up, but here we were at witch school. One of the classes was about reading things.
Starting point is 00:12:23 and we had to bring in an item that we hadn't revealed to each other. Okay. Jess and I didn't know. And it had to be covered, and we were taught how to read what it was. And Jess was really good at it. Jess was like, there's something that's green and all this. And I was like, ooh! And it was a photo of me in a bush or something like that.
Starting point is 00:12:45 And the bush was green? Wow. So how do you explain that? The key to being psychic is just being fake. How to explain that? And then I wasn't good at it. I can't remember her writing, but I couldn't do it. I was devastated.
Starting point is 00:12:57 So later in life, when I became a gothic witch, as a teenager, I used to practice moving things with my mind. How'd that go for you? Yet to be moved. Yeah, okay. But I get a bit useless. I didn't do the practice. So I've always wanted these secret psychic powers
Starting point is 00:13:17 and these sort of the gift. I have friends that have the gift. And they're like, you know, you might have the gift. gift, you can train the gift. Well, Kerry King, she's a tarot and astrology writer with 30 years experience. She has shared online the three signs that
Starting point is 00:13:30 you might actually have the secret gift. She's made money out of this for 30 years. Sounds like a lot of money too. This is her job. Now, this was part of her plugging her book that releases tomorrow, and I genuinely was like, oh shit, I'm going to buy it. Because it's called
Starting point is 00:13:46 This book will make you psychic. Christ a lot. Here, this book will make you psychic. Are the three signs that you may be secretly gifted and psychic. Clear conaginence. What? You have clear cognizance.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Clear cognizance. Cognizance. Cognosence. Clear, is it one word or two words? One word. Clear cognizance. Clear as in like clairvoyant. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Cognisance as in like, I've got it in my head. Okay. Clear cognizance. You have an essence of just knowing. That things, you know, you know things without knowing why. Maybe it's, you read a room, you're like, hmm, this isn't good, spotting a fake smile,
Starting point is 00:14:26 like they're being secretive or whatever, sensing a bad idea before hearing details. If this is something you're like, oh, I've got a real, you know, intuition. Yeah, good intuition, a bit of a sixth sense. She said to put this to the test, you get a little notebook, you keep it for a week,
Starting point is 00:14:42 you jot down and explain, you know, these unexplained impressions that you have. Yeah. And then you leave it for a bit, give it some time, go back and test it against reality. was I right? Right. Did that turn out to be a bad situation?
Starting point is 00:14:55 Were they a bad person? If you are right, you might have the gift. Second one out of three, you have vivid and prophetic, prophetic dreams. Dreams that feel unusually different and occasionally seem to come true or reflect real events.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Now, I had a dream the other day that I yelled at you two. Did you? It was the weirdest situation. Why would you yell at me? I mean, I could understand yelling at Vaugh. Why would anyone yell at me? No, I don't know what it was.
Starting point is 00:15:20 It was. We were in this meeting and for some reason I lost my shit at both of you. Oh, goodness. And I just started screaming that I'd had enough and all this kind of stuff. It was the weirdest feeling.
Starting point is 00:15:33 It was very odd. Okay. So if you have these dreams, I don't know if that's going to come true. We've got a lot of meetings coming up. Yeah, God, I will, I might tap out. I'll start flipping tables. I suggest exercise keep another dream diary.
Starting point is 00:15:44 So maybe separate the diaries. That's a lot of books. The gut feeling diary, the dream diary by the bed, write down fragments. immediately on waking and look for recurring symbols of patterns over time. And the third thing that you might sign that you might have the gift, coincidences or synchronicities, thinking of someone right before they contact you,
Starting point is 00:15:59 recurring numbers, you know, your angel numbers, songs, frequent deja vu and that kind of stuff. Suggested exercise. What you want to do, you want to get a diary. Got another diary? No, the suggested exercise, visit a place with history and ask, what do I need to notice today? Wonder without an agenda.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Jot down, okay, so sorry, there is a diary. A lot of a long time ago. I got lost when you couldn't say that word, Claire Cognsons. Clare Cognizantzins, vivid prophetic dreams, strange coincidences of synchronicities. If you have those three, you may have the gift that I so long have wanted. The vague gift of being a psychic. Well, you'll all wait. I'm going to start practicing moving that to dollar coin with my mind.
Starting point is 00:16:43 You haven't got the lotto numbers right in our syndicate, have you? Shit, no, I haven't. I really let you down there. their work. Zem's Fletchborn and Haley. From the unmoderated comment section, this is the top six. Good morning. Convicted triple murderer Aaron Patterson has been improved to Zemak
Starting point is 00:17:04 after weight gain in prison. Sorry. So after a weight gain in prison. I googled that and she's been, yeah, given the goal ahead for the, and Australia, the Australian taxpayer public is upset. As you can understand that the mushroom killer is getting a weight loss jab.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Actively plotted and executed. I know. Is this being made into a Netflix show because it should be? Should be. It'll be underway. Yeah. Now, corrections authority say the medication is intended to reduce her risk of developing type to diabetes, which if she gets that in prison because she's in her cell 23 hours a day. She's only getting an hour to get out and get physical. It's going to cost you as a taxpayer so much more money to take care of a diabetic prison. Yeah, that's what I, that's, you forget that, don't you?
Starting point is 00:17:48 True. It's going to cost them either way, so it's better to... True. I mean, that's what Ozzympic and the Likes was originally for. I've never seen a photo of the Beef Wellington. There it is. Oh, and the other. That's the leftovers from the one that killed them.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Why the hell would you have leftovers? I would put that in the slot bucket. Well, what do you think? Because they dropped dead, Haley. They didn't finish it. Yeah, but wouldn't she have gone get rid of the rest? Oh, yeah, fair call. Fair call.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Oh, my gosh. They said the prelim is that someone who's convicted, who's attempted a murder and being convicted of three murders is now getting the easy way out when everybody else has to go to the gym and slog it out and eat well. I was Googling, do people normally put weight on in prison? Because you would imagine that you'd go to prison
Starting point is 00:18:35 and you'd be restricted with your eating. I planned out my whole prison stay. I'm going to get a degree in something really interesting. I'm going to study. I'm going to learn. I'm going to get jacked. And even if you are, even if I do something horrible, so I'm locked down for 23 hours, I'm like, what's the word?
Starting point is 00:18:55 Push-ups. No, yeah, like I can make things. Yeah. Out of nothing. Are you going to be munger mob or killer bees? I do have a connection to mongrel mob family-wise, so I'll probably head in that direction of protection. You're wearing red now, so it makes sense.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Yeah. Oof, rough, ruff. I don't know, I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I take it back. I take it back. Isn't it at the bulldog?
Starting point is 00:19:17 I don't know. Ah, yep. I'll just get you out of this one. Top six drugs I go to prison for based off this story. Number six on the list, peptides. Yeah. Get on the peptides. Work out.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Three square meals. Just get jacked in prison. I could fly the drone over the exercise yard and drop off when you need some more pepity. If you could. Just drop the needles straight into his gut. If you could. Yeah, just drone make. Drones can do everything these days.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Just pull it down, jab him. Click it down. Pull it out. Yeah. Get jacked. Three squeers. They reckon people are also putting on weight in prison because the food's not great. It would also piss me off of people getting better food in prison than in hospital.
Starting point is 00:19:57 I don't know. I wouldn't imagine. So I did, when I Google, that most people put weight on because of the commissaries, like the shops inside and it's all like processed food, yeah. Oh, so their family give them credit to spend. Yeah, or they might have money. Yeah, so actually most people put on weight. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Number five on the list of the top six drugs I go to prison for? Propophole, lovely sleep. Oh my God, I cannot wait for my colonoscopy. I got a reminder that I should be getting a colonoscopy sign. It's a stunning sleep, eh. Just a beard and you were, hello. You wake up and you're like, hello.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Do you want a sandwich? Yes, I do. This is the best ham and cheese sandwich. Yeah, I remember waking from my shoulder surgery thinking, God, that sleep was delicious. Yeah, it was good stuff. Albutt's sleep. Albert's sleep.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Albut delicious. Oh, I've had something jammed so far at my eyes. Could have come out my mouth, but what a sleet. I'm at the hygienist next week, too reckon, sure. Give you a little... No. Number four on the list of the top six drugs I'd go to prison for. Honestly, caffeine some days.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Yep. And sometimes I would end up in prison if I didn't get it. Yeah. You know, it could happen. Number three on the list of the top six drugs I go to prison for. Zoplochone. Again, I don't want to, you know, big of a train here, but a lovely slab. Bit of a slot.
Starting point is 00:21:11 On a nice quiet single bed in a room with an in-room onsuit. Even if it's a little steel toilet with no lid. Sounds delightful to be. Give me, give me, give me. Number two on the list of the top six drugs I go to prison for, again, a morphine drip. You know, just chuck me on a wheelie beard, push me around, institutionalise me, chuck me in a straitjacket or it will feel like a hug, just have a little sleep. Tell you what, when my friend died, everyone was questioning, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:34 where's a moistened? Where's the most of my friend pills going to? What I think was the same with my granddad died? Everyone was like, seven to them in their A-grade pain killer pills. Devastating, where's all the morphine going on? I know who got it, too. And really? And number one.
Starting point is 00:21:49 And number one in the list of the top six drugs I go to prison for. Honestly, some day it's just a paracetamol. Yeah, you know what? When you can't find one. Exactly. And you've got a bit of a hangover, you wake up. You're like, just that light headache. And you know, what I need to hear is a leader or order and a paracetamol
Starting point is 00:22:04 and you can't find one. Take me to prison. Give me two. Let me have a little lie down. That's the day's top sex. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Flash forun and Haley. You know when you first start seeing someone and you make some,
Starting point is 00:22:16 like you give them a bit of rope. A bit of grace. Yeah, a bit of grace. Yeah. I don't love that. But it's okay. That's you. I'm not here to change you.
Starting point is 00:22:26 I'm not going to control you in the early phases. God no. I'll let that creep in when it really starts to be on. I knew that my girlfriend, Amy, she's not a, she's not a, for a start, she's not a soft drink drinker. She doesn't drink soft drink. No. Neither. Unless it's in a, like a rum and Coke or a gin and tonne or a.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I'm not a big soft drink. I'm sorry, when the last time, you had a rum and coke. No, a cocktail rum and coke and something. Right. Yeah, no, neither really. I'm not a soft ale drink, but I tell you what, end of the day, I love a fridge sig. Yeah, man. Cokesera.
Starting point is 00:22:59 A Cokesera and some Jamisons. That's my fridge stick. I call it the Irish fridge sick. Yeah, yum. I'm in the mood. I need an Irish fridge sink. I'll have a little. Now I knew she doesn't love, I know she doesn't love soft drinks.
Starting point is 00:23:14 There's never soft drinks at her house. primarily drinks water. Yeah. And tea. Yeah. And I'll say you can tell. Vaughan needs a podcast on other official sweeteners. No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Nah. Don't worry about it. You know, someone ran... It's not the bloody sweetness that are going to get him. I had a moment last night. This dude ran a red light. I was the light went green for me and I started going through a tennis section and this guy flew through, missed the front of the Ranger by it.
Starting point is 00:23:37 And I was not looking forward to that call to Derek to let him know. As a Ford bastard, I've got another damaged car. But it didn't happen. But it was one of those moments where I'm like, That could have all been... It could have been over. In that moment you saw that car where you're like, fridge sick. That's what I mean.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Also, though, think of the payout for the girls. Sorry. Set them up nicely. It would set them up nicely if someone killed you from reckless Australia. I'm just saying... They'd probably get more out of that than they would have futed to die sort of in a soft way. Like a slow, painful way.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Sort of a soft die. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just thinking of the girls. I'm just thinking of the girls. I'm in the sympathy, you know. People are almost indie. Like, we wouldn't really have to step in as,
Starting point is 00:24:15 that much. Don't tell anybody that I had life insurance when you start the GoFund me though. Oh no, we'll double-dip. Yeah, we'll double-dip. Take yourself somewhere nice with a bit of that Go-Fund. Of course we will. We're devastated. We've got to go to Brazil. Yeah, yeah. Take the girls. And we'll take the girls.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Yeah, yeah. We'll get a babysitter. Yeah, yeah. So that guy nearly wiped me out. But anyway, I had a message. I said, look, it's been a date. It's been a date. I'm going to need to bring a Coke Zero to your house for a fridge sink. Because I can't have one before I drive to her house. I don't drink a drive.
Starting point is 00:24:46 No, no, no, no. And with a fridge sig, it's the experience. You need to, like, sit down and enjoy it. And on the way to her house, I'm like, I'm already planning which one of her glasses. I'm going to have a fridge cigar. Nice. Because it's nice. She's got great glass.
Starting point is 00:24:59 So did you, did she grant you dispensation? Is it okay if I, is it okay if I bring a Coke Zero? Because it's been a hell of. It's been an afternoon. And she was across my afternoon. And she was just like, yeah, it's okay. But when I walked in Karen, that fridge sig, eyes were immediately on it.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Was she a bit like, trash? And I plonked it in the fridge and she's like, first time there's ever been a Coke zero in that fridge? I was like, and she's like, man, I must really like you. Oh, yeah. And I said, and I really like you, thank you. Oh, that's nice. But getting out, I extra needed the fridge sink by the time I got inside.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Because I had a 30 second stint where an already testing day almost made me cry. I got out of the car. went around to the, and I opened the passenger's door and the Coke Zero fell out and dropped around. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just like, how did you get in the position where the minute I open the door, it's like, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Yeah, he's excited to be drunk. Yeah. He's like, boy, you're going to get it in you. You're going to get it, boy. Yeah, get him on you. So he's, and so when I bend over to pick him up, my drink bottle falls out and bangs on the thing. So then I've got my overnight bag on one shoulder
Starting point is 00:26:11 and my work bag on the other. as I turn, my work bag gets caught in the door, so I get spun around in the car. Take me, Jesus. Guess who hits the ground again? Oh, fridge sack. I'm just like, so I put everything down, shut the door, lock the car, pick everything up. Did you shut the door or did you give it a whey? I got shut with some force.
Starting point is 00:26:33 So then I've got, I'm all set, and I've got my stability, and I'm like, okay, I'm good, and I get around and she lives upstairs, so I turn, and the bag grabs on the corner of the thing and pulls me back. No. As I go back, I go, and I'm old, so my back's like, and I'm like, and I over clamped, guess who hits the floor again? Fridge sink. Tumbles down three stairs.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Fridge sink. Fridge sagger. I'm surprised it hasn't burst open at this stage. I was fuming, like, angry and almost crying. What you've just experienced the essence of PMS. Like, the way you're describing it, the, like, not the, like, that feeling. Yeah. You've experienced womanhood.
Starting point is 00:27:13 So I was just stomping up the stairs and then I walked in and that's when she saw the fridge, and then I put it in and she's like, you're not going to have one. I was like, too bad. Too shaken up. It's had the ground like three times. Oh dear. Before I, but then the year. It is fun the sort of early stage living in each other's spaces exchange because I also had a moment yesterday where I had to draw a line with new boyfriend Mike.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Oh, what did he do? He'd, you know, his little things, keys and charges and whatnot, and they'd go on the bedside table, and not my aesthetic. So when I was vintage shopping one day, I found a gorgeous silver vintage tray, that's like the shape of a leaf. I put that next to the bed and I said, you know, that's where you can put all your stuff, so it's all sort of condensed to one area, and he's done that.
Starting point is 00:28:07 And I walked in yesterday and had put a couple of pairs of socks in there. Oh. Like white. Yeah. White socks sort of bundled in the vintage tray that I bought. Oh, and that's not the ascetic. On the bedside table? Yeah, so I texted when I said, socks in the vintage tray?
Starting point is 00:28:24 Not really my aesthetic. Just socks on the bedside table's are weird. Do you know what I got? Because I do it a lot if he leaves something somewhere or whatever or, you know, like a powerade bottle in the kitchen. Not really my aesthetic. So I texted him and I said socks in the vintage tray, not really my aesthetic. Do you know what I got? Sorry it won't happen again.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Oh. Oh, wow. Sorry, it won't happen again. And I said, bless you, that's what I said. I didn't say, oh no, it's not that serious. I said, yeah, bless you. The Fletch morning, Haley, big pod. Now, producer Carwin is tottling off overseas on a secret mission.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Now, are we going to mention how big her suitcases? How long are you going on? Guys, I literally welded down the staircase and I went, Fletch is going to say, why is it such a big suitcase? Okay. How long are you going for? until Friday afternoon. Two nights.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah. Guys, I don't go to Australia every weekend like you three. Don't say three. Don't say three. I wanted you to feel included, babe. No, I don't include me in this. I'm just impressed works giving you a baggage fare. Yeah, oh, it's not.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Times a time. Somebody else is paying for it. Oh, somebody else is paying for it. Yeah, it's not in Zeme that's paying for it. We'll take a giant suitcase then. Yeah, God, yeah. Yeah, I've got to do some shopping with that two hours. I was going to be right.
Starting point is 00:29:42 shopping. Tell you what, you're getting married in the future. Sydney's like great shopping for dresses. I'm not going to have time for that. But now, you're not going to have time because you're on a work assignment. I am. You know what? I love books and you know this about me at Carlin Reads on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:29:59 At Fletch listens if we're all getting a plug. Yeah, true. We're all getting a plug. He never listens though, does it? Actually, can you upload something new? Social media manager, Vaughn Smith? I haven't listened to a book in so long. Don't say that. Don't say that.
Starting point is 00:30:11 You've got a DM. Oh no, who's it from? A DM? It'll just be a bot from Asia or something. You got mentioned. Wanting to get married. Anything. No, it's not a bot.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Not even bots want to marry you. Oh. Oh. Oh, was it too mean? Well. Oh, no. Let me get a photo of you listening. Stand by at Carwin reads.
Starting point is 00:30:34 No, be more listening. He does the same point. They all can. It's good. I think you need to theme it. like I'm listening to a horror. I'm listening to a romance, you know. He doesn't care enough.
Starting point is 00:30:46 Now, wasn't he listening to? Thank you, Vaughn's my social media manager. Now, why are you going to Sydney? I am going to Sydney because, oh my gosh, the incredible cast, Jeremy Irvine, Hermione. Friend of the show. Jeremy Irvine. Hermione, Jamie and Harriet from the Outlander,
Starting point is 00:31:03 Blood of My Bloodcast are in Australia. Future Friends of the Show. Let's hope so. Honestly, they are all stunning and gorgeous and incredible and I would love to be their friends. I've seen his Instagram. He's been there for a few days already. They've been sunning it up in Sydney and doing all the media.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Yeah, and they did the bridge climb I saw. How fun, a classic. They are doing a big week of events for the launch of season two in a couple of weeks for Outlander Blood of My Blood. I haven't watched it yet. What is it about? So this is season two, because I know there was Outlander right, and this is the prequel.
Starting point is 00:31:35 This is the prequel. So Outlander follows Clear, and she touched with a stone. Well, she's British. I don't know how to do British accent. Clear, no. Clear, she touches the stone and gets transported back into the ancient times of Scotland. And it's stuck there, can't figure it out,
Starting point is 00:31:55 falls in love with a beautiful Scottish man. Sorry, that came out on ear. And five following books follow that in a lot of seasons of the show, eight, I believe. Now, there is a prequel series which follows the parents of both Claire and then the man that she marries Jamie. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:15 This sounds absolutely 100% right up your alley. Yeah, and they also time travel. And oh, Jeremy Irvine. Do they have a machine? Does our friend Jeremy Irvine have a travel machine? No, he touches the stone. Where would you go? Where would you go if you touch the stone?
Starting point is 00:32:30 To wherever Jeremy Irvine. Okay. Oh, whoa. Whoa. Whoa. May I need to remind you just to look down to your left ring finger, big diamond on it. You're taken.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, guys on tour, stays on two of the... No. No, no, no, no. That version of worn? It's just a bit of lads chat. Me and Carr would have some lads chat. Oh my God, fun.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I love this. So, yeah, there's a fan event tonight. I'll do some red carpet like Shandog did for the... Wait, so does Jeremy live in World War I, post-World War I, or does he live in 1700s Scotland? No, he is post-World War I. He is a soldier and he's really going through it. with that post-traumatic stress.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah, hell of a thing. What did they call it back then? The fidgets, or so they has a really diminishing name for the PTSD that these guys came back from a horrendous war with. And then him and his wife, they go back to Scotland times. But they're separated and they've got to find each other. Oh, good Lord. Clans are clashing.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Oh, my God. Clash of the clans. I know. Plash of the clans. Hell of a mobile game. Oh, yeah. God, they love advertising, don't they? Clash of the clans. I love this.
Starting point is 00:33:37 We love that. Shannon went over to the Hey You event as well and Carmen, you're going over to this. So you'll have some interviews for us next week. Yeah, around the release time, yeah. Okay. Love this. Well, good luck and be safe and be fun and make good decisions
Starting point is 00:33:51 and don't do what I did when I interviewed Jason Memorial and sort of make a fool of yourself because you're sort of like, oh my God, you're so attractive. Oh yeah, fingers crossed. Yeah, yeah. The ZN Podcast Network. Well, the government has revealed that it's investing $32.8 million to build
Starting point is 00:34:06 34 new classrooms. and schools around the country. One school is even getting a brand new gym. Oh. Is that Massey? One of them I was reading this one in some West Auckland schools with the local high school. So this is what we wanted to know,
Starting point is 00:34:21 like, how grim was your school? Because imagine having a new classroom. Oh my God. Sorry, Haley, who went to a private school, isn't going to be eligible for this phone and topic. Yeah, Coimbinger College is in a building that's historically protected by the historical society of Warrington. She's really.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Morrinsville College was just made up of a whole bunch of prefect. that became permanent. Yeah, right. New Plymouth Boys High, we had, like, the old, like, building and, like... A block? Yeah, we had a 70s block. We had blocks, but then there were a lot of pre-fab classrooms,
Starting point is 00:34:49 and they were so cold in winter. They were! Why were they colder inside than outside? Do we have the oil heaters? Did you have those around the, around the thing? Yeah. Yeah, our form room in Form 7, it's called Hobby House. It's a villa.
Starting point is 00:35:04 It's a two-story villa on the property. A two-story villa. And the main building of Queen Margaret College was a historically protected building. But we did have the ugly 70s block when it became a bigger school. Yeah, but you didn't have prefabs, did you? God no, it was nice. It was nice. Well, you can't be spending thousands of dollars a year to send your kid to a school
Starting point is 00:35:22 and it's got prefabs. And we're cold. Yes, and you're cold, darling to term. I don't think so. We were not on a cold. We had polyester uniforms. Oh, darling, we had Will Barbara Lee. I know.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Delo. We had cold. We had cold. I would say when it rained we smell like dogs. Well, when it rained, we were wet and it never dry. Oh, no. So this is what we want to know. Like, with all these new classes,
Starting point is 00:35:47 and it's actually good that schools are getting new classrooms because a lot of schools need them. And they're cool now. Like, they actually put a bit of thought into them and a bit of insulation in the walls. Which is nice, overplace the windows. We do want our Angatahi to be actually, you know, warm. Yeah, learning and stuff would be nice.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Yeah, learning and warm. So how bad was your school? How grim was it? Didn't you have a rat, Shannon? They had a rat in the history. Famous rat. Yeah, we had a rat and we called him rat sputon. In our history, not, ratsputin.
Starting point is 00:36:17 It would have been way better, if there was a rat in the home act room and it was ratatooie and it rode your hair. Oh, that thing. Did that, what was it that grim? Was it prefabs? Well, I don't know what a prefab is. You know those like pre-built. It's like on a building site. You just see like a kitsy.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Oh, kind of. Yeah. I don't want to talk too much shit how at college did DM me on Instagram saying I'm one of their favorite alumni. No need to brag, because Luxon went there as well, but I'm their favorite. Yeah, hold on, you said no need to brag. Huge brag. Hillary Barry went to Queen Margaret's now.
Starting point is 00:36:47 There's a brag. Oh, yeah. We're proud of her. Darling, darling, yes, darling. Was this a problem at your school, though, rats everywhere, or just that one classroom? Yeah, well, we knew of rats sputin quite well, because I was in the same history class for five years. Like, the class was, so I got to know him quite well. And would he just scurry in the ceiling or across the...
Starting point is 00:37:06 Cross the ground. It's going across the ground. Yeah, and he had a big old tail and we're like, oh, rats, futin. Oh, God. Oh, gosh. The rats tail. Get a rat trap.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Yuck. No, that was our friend. He went to that school longer than most students. Yep. He's been here. Never got pregnant. Yeah. Okay, I'll wait a hundred
Starting point is 00:37:26 dials at him as our number. We want you to text through 9-696. On the back of these new classrooms coming. How grim was your school? There's 34. somebody messaged in, there's like 34 schools over Parmy and Fielding in the area I work and some of them have rooms that can't be used
Starting point is 00:37:44 because they're not earthquake safe, so it might sound really impressive in an election year, but keep in mind that it's not going to go too far. No, no, no, no. And they're like some of our most important spaces in the entire country. Why, don't they just get under their desk in an earthquake? That was our thing.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Yeah, but when the building's kind of like, the building's trying to kill them. In an earthquake? Yeah, okay. Fair enough. We want to not to get political on it, but yeah, just remember there's an election year and a lot of promises are made by everybody. Yes. Charlie, how grim was your school?
Starting point is 00:38:15 Yeah, hi guys. I went to Gunnersbury Catholic School for Boys just outside of London. Oh, darling, God bless you. That sounds posh, but it might just be your accent, Charlie. Well, it sounds posh. I mean, our school uniform was from John Lewis, but that doesn't. John Lewis? What is that like?
Starting point is 00:38:33 Is it a supermark? Don't they do the Christmas ads? Yes. Is that like a posh department store? Yes. Okay. Oh, right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:44 So your school uniforms are at a posh like going to Cucordian Staines or David Jones. Yes. Lovely. Okay. Our school was grim as it was a temporary hospital during the Second World War. Oh, spooky. Spooky. So you'd be outside playing rugby and there could be like a little bit of ordinance sticking out of
Starting point is 00:39:04 the dirt, old World War II grenades or something. Yeah, well, our rugby team wasn't the best, so we all thought that the school was haunted and the rugby field had bodies underneath it. Yeah, right. I thought you were going to say they weren't so good because they were all amputees because they kept hitting landmines when they were up.
Starting point is 00:39:24 True, true. But yeah, I guess if loads of people were dying, they just like dig a hole in the, oh, yeah. Were there any ghosts there, Charlie? There was never any confirmed cases, but there was a few classrooms that would make noises. So the answers are yes, Charlie, there were ghosts. There were war ghosts.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Well, Haley's a believer, for sure. I am a believer. Charlie, thank you. Some messages and how grim was your school. Somebody said, our school, it was a new building, but that didn't mean anything because when it rained outside, it also rained inside. And in the winter, it would get so cold
Starting point is 00:39:58 that if there were any posters on the wall, you'd come back and they'd just like rock melted because of how wet it was. There was a mummified mouse corpse That was stuck between a built-in storage system Against the window pane For what used to be a meeting room We would parade new people passed it
Starting point is 00:40:13 And they would understand This is where their souls had come to die Oh my God Yeah Someone said Taupo Nui only just got new buildings Because some naughty sigging teens burnt down the other I remember that I remember that yeah
Starting point is 00:40:26 So they've got a whole new kind of area I mean Must be nice Kind of good Yeah but like that person That messaged him before the room was so damp, you probably couldn't burn it down if you wanted to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Speaking of damp, I worked at a school in a fancy suburb of Auckland, and my classroom used to rain on the inside. The walls had to be pulled down, everything away from the walls in the winter. Oh, you had to pull everything away from the walls in winter because it would just rain inside. Yeah, right. I grew up in Germany, and they wanted to build extra classrooms on top of a two-story building. Problem was it wasn't structurally sound enough.
Starting point is 00:41:03 The fix, they just put it. tree trunks in the middle of each classroom while strengthening the building. For a year, we had to all share half a classroom to see the whiteboard because the tree was in the way. What? I'm sorry, what? So, I just message where maggots fall out of the ceiling. We had that once.
Starting point is 00:41:19 You know those, oh, we've got them here too, those ceiling panels. Someone was like, what is that? And pushed it with the broom, and there was like a dead rat up there and all the maggots fell out. Yuck. I don't want to be there. Gisbon boys high was so cold. the classrooms are freezing cold.
Starting point is 00:41:35 One winter, my friends and I bought in lots of two-minute noodles to juggle to make hot noodles so the rest of the class and we were kind of heroes for a while because we did that. Oh, nice. I'm a teacher. I had a classroom I used to call the zoo. Granddaddy cockroaches, endless ants in the odd mouse. It was disgusting.
Starting point is 00:41:50 I had to have a cockroach monitor each lesson. Nothing derails a lesson like a granddaddy cockroach scurrying across your desk. Oh my God, yark. We had Templeton the rat. He would visit my Year 12 English class on the way it was rat hole and just scurry through and people would freak out and be like relax it's just Templeton
Starting point is 00:42:09 Wow okay How many rats are there in these classrooms A lot, it sounds like a lot I love school seemed fine Did you read this school seemed fine at the time But we went for a tour of it as part of a reunion Most of it was condemned Turns out half of it was made from insulated
Starting point is 00:42:27 And decorated with Suspest off Oh yeah but come on if the school was built any time from 30s through to 70s. It probably had a famous. Yeah, for sure. You just don't disturb it. If it sparkles, you just enjoy the sparkles. Somebody said, we had working radiator heaters
Starting point is 00:42:42 except everyone melted crayons on them. Yes, I remember that. To the point where, when they'd turned them on, everyone would get lightheaded because of all the fumes coming off the crayons. Our female Loo's had no toilet seats, let alone toilet paper. What? The doors didn't lock either, so you're seeing there hovering on a seat.
Starting point is 00:43:00 You couldn't have locked doors all. seats. Oh my gosh. That's pretty wild. Somebody said oh our school had mold once and the teacher said not to worry about it and then one of the parents that worked for the company that tested it. They came in and tested it. Guess who school had black
Starting point is 00:43:16 toxic mold? Is that a great learning environment? Toxic mold? Yeah. I know the strong will survive. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fleshhorn and Haley. Practical magic too. And the producer girlies, you've had sneak peek of the film.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Ooh. Is it a ghost film or a witch film? Witch, but like, whoo. 1998, the first practical magic came out. Yeah, Shannon wasn't born. I was.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah, I was conceived, so. Do you think there's a chance your parents conceived you to practical magic? Well, no, see, it's crazy because I've not seen practical magic, and my parents give big that, but we didn't have a microwave, so I think maybe it was on that side of my childhood.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Oh, my God. What, um, what now, Did you not even see the first movie? So on Monday, Carwin and I, we went to Hamilton, and then Carwin came to my apartment, and we sat there and we watched the first movie, and then an hour later we watched the second. So it was full witchy day Monday. Right. What was the difference between the one that was in 1998 and now?
Starting point is 00:44:19 I mean, a lot of plastic surgery and Nicole Kidman. And the CGI. Is plastic surgery or Botox? I don't know if she's had any plastic surgery. She looks great. She's up to her neck. Oh, yeah. Maybe not face, but maybe.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Oh, okay, right. Yeah, fair, fair. Yeah, and like the fashion's similar, but like with a New Zealand, a 2026 spin on it in the second film. And I know a lot of the girlies very excited about this movie opens around the country tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:44:46 What were your thoughts then? Oh, I loved it. I had already seen practical magic, but it was nice to have a refresher. It's perfect. I think that it's like paying homage to the first film perfectly, but modernifying it,
Starting point is 00:45:00 bringing in some new characters, changing some storylines. but perfect. I loved it. I did cry for like half an hour straight. And like there was, you know, generally when stuff happens in a movie, no spoilers,
Starting point is 00:45:13 but when stuff happens in a movie there's light reprieve afterwards. And there was that, but I couldn't stop crying. So I just kind of had a good chunk where it was just coming out. Was it embarrassing for you, Karwin? The crying?
Starting point is 00:45:24 Look, I have a strategy where I sit on the inner seat and Shannon sits on the aisle scene. Carmen always sits as a buffer between her other friends and everyone else, I'm on the aisle. So like no one saw her crying. Just me. But what would you give it out of 10 then?
Starting point is 00:45:41 Definitely recommend. I'd say 9. Yeah. Nine. Okay. Yeah. Watch it. Play Z-M's Flashawn and Haley.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Well, very excited to say that this Sunday, not Father's Day. Yeah. It's CRL opening day. It's the opening. Rail Loop. City Rail link. Almost. You've got one right out of a possible three. I have been following this with great interest,
Starting point is 00:46:09 despite not knowing what CRL properly stands for. Some civil engineering. I tell you what. Give me a train. Give me a civil engineering. My friend who loves trains, almost as much as you, wants to go on the first one through the tunnel. And it's like, do you want to wake up at 5 o'clock and do this? I reckon it'll be as busy as hell.
Starting point is 00:46:28 People wanted to be the first through there. So that's what they've said. And I mean, we've already gone through the tunnel. We were lucky enough to... You were. And I've been to Karanga Hape station. You went on the open day? Yes.
Starting point is 00:46:39 With the mushroom parade. The mushroom parade. Yeah. God I love Auckland. It was a whole fun. But Monday is going to be the first like commuter day, like the first weekday. Yeah. This is open.
Starting point is 00:46:50 People will be going to work. Use it for its purpose. Yeah. And we thought we could try to get one of these Guinness World Records at radio shows just love. of getting. I've been here, this is my fifth year. Because we're anti-y.
Starting point is 00:47:02 We've got zero. We're anti-you-all. Fletch and I are anti-Ginneswood record attempts. Yeah, I know, but here I am and I'm like, come on. Because you try so hard and then someone swoops in and beats you by one or two. Yeah, and then some guy comes and doubles it, and you're like, I'm not even going to try again. Like, let's not bother. Because we were going to do, you know, heaviest squat in the world as a radio show.
Starting point is 00:47:24 All three of us in one bar. Three of us one bar. But we've got bad backs. Bad back. Bad back woman. It's never going to happen. No, I thought there's squats with a woman's domain. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's our, it's our booties.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Right. No, no. We're going to go for the world's deepest radio show. Because one of the stations is 42 meters underground. We're going underground. At the difference between the surface. Now, producer girlies, you went on the escalator that goes down from a near K road into the station. It'll be the biggest.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Escalator in New Zealand? It is. There's a plaque and I took a photo of it. Oh, we love it. I love a plaque. Send it in the chat horn. It's a lovely maroon plaque. Oh, lovely.
Starting point is 00:48:08 You've got to read the plaque. And what does it say? I'll send it now. It's the longest escalator in New Zealand. Wow. It is so steep. Yeah. Dude, yes.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I've been on overseas and in London and you're just like, whoa, this keeps going. And they put those dots in the middle so people can't slide down on their bum in the middle. Yeah. They have a half of Ryan the Goach. So it's a 43 metre escalator going down to 33 metres underground. So we'll be 33 metres when we're broadcasting. So that's a hell of an incline you think about it. Yeah, that is.
Starting point is 00:48:38 43 metres and you're going down 33. So we'll be right next to where the trains are. Yes. Okay. So it's going to be the world's deepest radio show. And I think we should do some other things that are deep while we're down there. We could get deep and meaningful. Yeah, we could get a bit like deep on it, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:48:55 We could do a phone and do. topic, how deep have you been? Yes. How deep have you been? Do you know how deep I've been? I've been to a salt mine in Poland. 135 metres, beat that. 135 minutes. How deep have you been?
Starting point is 00:49:08 Underground. Should I do? Please do not call in now. It will be Monday's. It will be Monday's phone and topic. How deep have you been? Yeah, don't. 9-6-96 right now.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Shut up. It'll be ignored. In fact, producers, can we phone someone who's been in a submarine for that phone and topic? I don't know. How are you going to do that? What about a diver? A competitive deep sea diver. I don't think they go that far.
Starting point is 00:49:30 They're in the blue hole. Yeah. How deep was that one? It's kind of unfair if he's going to beat our listeners. Free diver. What if we got a blobfish on the show? They go hell deep. Get a blob fish.
Starting point is 00:49:41 Get an angler fish on the show. Someone just texting I've been 30 metres. We don't care. We'll see you on Monday. Not now. Save your messages. Save it. Save it. For the deepest radio show broadcast in New Zealand and the world, in history.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Yeah. Now, how do we get Guinness there? where we left that a bit late for a fish out. Oh, Guinness World Records. I thought you had a drink down there. I thought we had a bloody good question. Oh yeah, to celebrate our attempt at a Guinness World. We'll have a Guinness.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Hey, well, also, have we, this is why the producers were there yesterday, testing that we can actually broadcast there. Yes, now the 5G and 4G underground is stronger than up on the ground. How is that possible? Because sometimes I'm at Vaughn's house and I don't get two bars. No, you don't get anything.
Starting point is 00:50:23 You've got to go to the corner of the decking. I get one bar of 4G at my house. at all times. This is state of the art data. We had two tech guys come not sure we could do this and we can do it, baby. We're going to broadcast down deep.
Starting point is 00:50:36 With the tech guys here at work and a bit, but sorry about trains and stuff. We had two tech people come and it was really a one-man job. I was going to say it's a one-man job. Someone just wanted to pay a little peak. Yeah, that's my favourite.
Starting point is 00:50:48 When we got a little peak of the train stations, that was my favourite. I'm so excited for Monday. So join us Monday for the deepest radio show in the history of the world ever. Should we give it a jingle? Because I know it's not on brand, but the BJs do have a song.
Starting point is 00:51:02 How deep is your love? How deep is your show? Baby, I need to know. It's a bit slow. Because we're at Karama Hapi. With me. Below the earth's surface.
Starting point is 00:51:23 It's writing itself. Dahl's rolling in the deep. Oh, yeah. Maybe we'll play songs with deep in it. Yeah, just a deep hour. A deep purple. Yeah, but a deep hour. What are the songs?
Starting point is 00:51:34 And on the songs with deep. Well, there's Breakfast at Tiffany's by Deep Blue something. Dude. Now we know that's a banger, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We could play that song. That'd be lovely. They're too deep and I'm trying to get up above.
Starting point is 00:51:48 This is great. This is great. That could be the intro. Oh my God. Yep. We've got Pearl Jam with a song Deep. Yep. Yeah, there's a couple of songs
Starting point is 00:51:57 That Tame and Parlor breathe deeper Yeah A song called Deep Deep, Deep calls to Deep Deep Deep Deep This is great Cheryl Crow, the first cut is the deepest Oh The first radio show is the deepest Baby I know
Starting point is 00:52:13 That's really good stuff And then like tell us your deepest darkest secret And we'll reveal out But not now Same up for Monday For the world's deepest radio show ever Oh like let's get deep you know?
Starting point is 00:52:25 Yeah, I love this. You can have a Johnny Deep impersonator on the show? Oh, close, close, and I'll accept it. Yeah. We can spray ourselves with mosquitoes with deep. A deep 40. Oh, what about we could do a deep heat massage? Oh, that would be nice.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Oh, my God, that would be great. I'll bring some deep heat. We can get a rub. Love that, love that. Yeah, this is great. Well, it's all happening Monday. Join us for the world's deepest radio show ever in the history of the world. The ZM Podcast Network.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Play ZN's Flesh, Born and Haylor. Please. Producer Carwin are not happy with one of us. When am I ever though, actually? Yeah, true. Oh, please. Banta, banter. We've got to be bans, sir.
Starting point is 00:53:06 I received an email. And it's, no, they're never good. I actually wish there were more of them in less meetings, but that's me personally. Yeah, that's fair. And this one is, it's accusing me of something. Okay. And the something happened at 10 past 10 on Monday. 7th of September.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Now, if I recall, Haley, you were away that day. As a way, I'm innocent of all involvement. You're cleared. You're clear. 2 p.m. I landed back in New Zealand. At the time, I believe, we were in the station vehicle, the ZDM station vehicle on State Highway 1, heading to Hamilton to drop off Little Poku.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. For Real NZ, he's making his way down the country. Correct. Yeah, Chiching, we were in fact on the Auckland to Hamilton Motorway, Epsom, Auckland, 1051, New Zealand. exact location GPS location Wow
Starting point is 00:53:58 So who's this email from Well it's from the NZMe Power Platform tech I don't know what that means But what the email Headline Sounds like a fishing scam Delete it quick
Starting point is 00:54:09 Yes it's a test They do test us at work That we do those emails They collect this slang Or download this thing I always have to ask Carlin because I've fallen for it Yeah
Starting point is 00:54:18 I'm too Foxy wanting to give me a gift card The trick is I'm doing to read your work emails No, the headline says drive me, which is our little driving service platform, speeding violation. Oh, no-y, naughty. Now, whilst the car was booked by our team under my name, I have photographic evidence that I was not the one driving. Yes, but you get the infringement because Vaughan was driving and it was under your name.
Starting point is 00:54:48 Correct, correct. So this is an infringement from our company, not the Poe-Po. Yeah. We don't worry about it. Where's the police of the final word in this country? Yeah, but TBC whether or not a speeding ticket from the Popo's actually does arrive as well because how fast was it going?
Starting point is 00:55:05 Am I allowed to say? Yeah, come on an 80. 103, I'll say it. Where is there an 80 though? Where is there an 80? To be fair, it's pretty much used to be 100 and then it turns into 100. I'm sorry, it has not been 100 for so long.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Like in my life. I haven't had a car for like. like 12 years. It has been 80. I just kind of drive on a vibe. Yeah, unfortunately not the law. Yeah. Well, the law hasn't caught me.
Starting point is 00:55:33 You should put some stickers on your window screen so when you do get snapped by the speed cameras, it's like, oh, he's just vibing me. He's just vibing. I'm vibing, I'm vibing. Can we wrap some tinfoil on this car? Oh, yeah. How do we stop the train?
Starting point is 00:55:42 How do we stop the track? Can we put some tinfoil over the tracker? The car shouldn't be allowed to go that fast then. Oh. But it has to be able to go 100 in a hundred. You can't victim blame a car. If it's a big problem Put a thing on where you can't break the speed limit
Starting point is 00:56:01 There's a lot of restrictions at this company Don't make there to be more Don't do that Make up your mind hon What do you want to do? I'm just saying I would like the nation to know This speeding violation is not mine
Starting point is 00:56:12 I've been wrongly accused But what is the what are the consequences of this Joe who deals with this Who already sort of You know Isn't really charmed by Vaugh and sort of I'm cute It doesn't work on her.
Starting point is 00:56:25 It's not my fault. She's impenetrable. I would say the only member of the team that she truly likes is me. With us, she would have been like, hey, well, slow down, babes. Come on. Look, it doesn't seem like I've got to pay anything. I don't think there's, it's just a reminder. No harm, no feeling.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Yeah, until the next time we need to borrow a car to go somewhere. Yeah. Also, that can't have been the only one that trip. It's a thing. I only got one day. Because you said to me, it sends them a thing every time you go over the speed limit, so I kept going up and down, up and like push it up over, and then let's slow down, push it up, push it up, over, just to see how many emails you were going to get.
Starting point is 00:57:00 I'll wait to see Joe today. Also, that photo of me driving is AI. They did, they used chat GPT. That's every defense now. ChatTGPT generate a sexy man driving a car. Play ZatMs, Fletch, Vaughn and Haley. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. D-Did-Dit-Dit-Dip-Dib, do-dib, D-Dub, do-doo.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Fact of the Day is brought to you by St. Piers. Here's a fact for you. Today's sushi of the day is eight pieces of tasty tuna mayo for $8.40. Wow. Tuna mayo. Delivered. It's hormone week here at Factor the Day. We're learning all about different hormones every day.
Starting point is 00:57:46 And today we're going to look at adrenaline. Okay. Love a bit of adrenaline. I'm so low in it at the moment because I'm not performing. at the moment. Right, so you've had a spike. Yeah. Epinephrine, is that the other name for the...
Starting point is 00:57:58 Because that's why it's called an EpiPen? Oh, there you go. Yeah, and you come off stage, Ryan, you're like, woo, you get this little high and you're all energized. And now I'm like, why, what is life? Well, you've got to wait a month for our live shows, Fletchwan and Hayley Live. Have you ever been...
Starting point is 00:58:15 Come off stage and hurt yourself, like twisted an ankle or fallen down some stairs and kind of a... Oh, it's not too bad. I feel very invincible, yeah. Like if I've been sore or pain or sick or whatever And then I perform, I come off And they call it Dr. Theatre and you're like, Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:30 I'm fine, I'll go out. So adrenaline is basically your body's emergency mute button for pain. So it can be a moment of shock, danger or injury. It floods your system. And it can block pain signals Because it's like prioritises other things in the body at that time. It's your survival. It's your fight or flight.
Starting point is 00:58:46 You're either fight or you're going to get the hell out of there. So people have like the car crashes or sports injuries or like soldiers who were shot. And then they walk for kilometres and then they finally get out and someone's like, oh my God, you did this with a broken neck. Or like birth, right? Birth, you get adrenaline as well so that you can push a human being out of your tiny vagina.
Starting point is 00:59:04 Births, thank you so much for saying I've got a tiny vagina. Yours is knowing, like known to be tight. It's tiny. Yeah. So birth is kind of like this. Giving birth is a cocktail of hormones. Or because then you've got the dope. Because of oxytocin's in it and the dopamine
Starting point is 00:59:19 and the part that makes you think that wasn't so bad. I'll do it again. Yes. So it's basically reroutes the body. It narrows as your focus to survival for the next five minutes, and pain gets pushed down. But when it starts to wear off, you're going to feel everything that you've kind of been pushing away.
Starting point is 00:59:35 It instantly gives you an energy boost. It triggers your liver to dump stored glucose into the bloodstream. So your liver is like, let's go. And then you get the glucose stored sugars, and away you go. And your heart rate increases because it redirects all of the blood away from, like the digestion and the skin and it goes towards the muscle in the lungs so you're ready to run or
Starting point is 00:59:55 fight. It's that amazing. This is a cool hormone. It is. It dilates your pupils. You see it in cats? They're hunting and people's going like, like this and you're like put down the MDMA Rolly. It does that thing where you know you hear about like someone like did some
Starting point is 01:00:11 feet of superhuman strength that they can never like lift a car off people in a car accident? Absolutely, absolutely and it's used in epipen's because it reverses severe allergic reactions by opening the airways and stabilising blood pressure. What would happen if I just jammed? I'm not alert to anything.
Starting point is 01:00:27 I jabbed an EpiPen in your leg. Yeah. I just thought the same thing before. You'd just get a mad boost of the same sort of adrenaline that you feel on stage. Can you buy them online? You can. They're very expensive. Downsides. The adrenaline crash afterwards. You get shaky and exhausted and feel
Starting point is 01:00:43 emotionally depleted. Oh no, I can't be having them. Which is what you felt after the... Yeah, which is when you're like... No shows. No shows. Also, tunnel vision and memory gaps, of course, because your brain, your body's literally in like survival mode so it won't take a... Don't need that, don't need that. Auto saves not on. It didn't need it.
Starting point is 01:01:01 I need that. Yeah, and it can be linked to high blood pressure and heart strain over time if you seek these adrenaline things. Interesting. So, so often. So today's fact of the day is adrenaline. Good fact. Thank you. Really good fact.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Really good fact. Let's go jump off a sky tower. Yeah, let's do it. Well, that's actually one of the day. of the things they talk about, the adrenaline junkies, it's not actually adrenaline, it's a dopamine-adrenaline combo. It's that cocktail, so technically adrenaline junkers should be called dopamine and adrenaline junkies.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Because it triggers their dopamine release and they love it and that makes them feel invincible and happy and... Yeah. Euphoric. So today's fact of the day is adrenaline is basically your body's a mute button for pain. Fact of the day, day, day, day, day. Do do tib to do to do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. The Zat M Podcast Network.
Starting point is 01:02:01 Play ZDEM's Fleshhorn and Haley. 966. What is your partner's embarrassing habit? Dob them in, man, because there is a guy. Well, a girl shared this and she called him the Funkmaster 3,000, her boyfriend. Because they go to a coffee shop and he gets an extra large cup of milk over ice. So it's in like a Frappuccino cup or like an iced coffee cup. But one size up from Grande.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Yeah. It's a large cup of milk. Large cup of milk. It almost looks like a liter. Would it be 75800 mils of milk? Oh, I'm talking minimum 700 mils of milk. It's America where everything's giant. He's just getting milk.
Starting point is 01:02:43 There's no coffee in there. There's no chocolate or chai or match or nothing. He just gets milk and he's like sipping it. And I'd be like, how am I supposed to? That's a breakup of all offence. Yeah, that's, yeah, it's really big. That's really yuck. Well, I think, yeah, I even made a joke about this in my new show, like men drinking milk.
Starting point is 01:03:01 Sorry, ick. Grow up. I mean and louder on their cereal, because I have it on my cereal every morning. Grow up. That's so embarrassing. Have coffee on your cereal like a real man. Yeah, black coffee on the cereal. But maybe they have an embarrassing habit.
Starting point is 01:03:15 It's not enough that you want to break up with them, but it's almost. It's just like, yes, I hate that. Don't bother calling me, I'm not going to answer. Okay. I'm too horrified to have my voice associated to the story, but my ex used to store his fingernails in his wallet to use his floss later. I am going to quit radio now. I've heard enough of these stories.
Starting point is 01:03:37 I'm out. I'm done. If I've got something stuck in my teeth and a long nail, I'll get it, but I'm not storing it for later. I'll pick my tooth with fingernail attached. I'm not saving them as little picks. No. I do use my hair sometimes as floss.
Starting point is 01:03:49 it's really bad. Pull out a strand. It feels cleaner. It feels not as bad. That's almost as icky. Oh, Jaden said, Yum. When I worked at Mac
Starting point is 01:03:56 because I'd use my free meal drink every day as a cup of iced milk. Yum. Yuck. Yuck! You still saying yum. James, stop saying men saying yon. That's a growing man.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Yum. Yum. Yum. I'm a man. Yummy. Okay, 0800 dials it in. We want to take your calls and your text now,
Starting point is 01:04:15 966. Tobin, your partner's embarrassing habit. Vanessa, your partner's embarrassing habit? Yeah, my partner has some slippers that are unknown reasons to me. He is emotionally attached to. How long has he had them? I think they used to be his dad's before him. No, we don't hear me down slippers.
Starting point is 01:04:36 I'm sorry. Are they really manky? His pinky toe sticks out the side and his big toes, like, sticks right out. And then sometimes try to be cheeky, try to be funny, just stick it out. Even my two-year-old knows it'd be gross, and he just won't throw them away. Yeah. Why didn't you buy it? You should just buy him some new ones.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Okay, but see, the shoes aren't beyond the issue because he's liked that with everything. He doesn't like anything new. And I literally, like, okay, maybe 10 years ago bought him a 2 for 75 pair of jeans, exactly the same pair of his old ones that had holes in the ass. Well, I'm still open. Yeah, sounds like you're with Vaughn. Yeah. Excuse me.
Starting point is 01:05:23 I don't wear slippers at his toes. I don't wear slippers, I think. I think slippers are just gross. You wear jeans though till they die. Yeah. Who doesn't? That's what they're made for. Vanessa, thank you.
Starting point is 01:05:33 Good luck with that. Yeah, I just sort of feel like Chuck him in the fun. Do you know what I mean? Like just take it out of his hands. But that's at probably the good end of Manky that we're hearing about. Oh, I know. My ex-husband would pull out his armpit hair and his eyelashes and his eyebrows and tickle his lips with him.
Starting point is 01:05:48 I get the feeling of like, sometimes I'm. grab the end of my head here and go like that on my lips. It does feel nice, but not from the pub. No. Also, pulling out your armpit here would hurt so much. Do a little pluck, yeah. My new partner and I just had our first weekend away together and he insisted
Starting point is 01:06:04 on making the bed fully when we left the Airbnb. I just couldn't watch. What? No, why? They're going to strip that anyway. They're going to have to wash those sheets. Yeah, that's odd. Pull it. Look it up. You make the bed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Airbnb I do. Hotel no. But they're not leaving the
Starting point is 01:06:20 Sheets on for the next person. I know. Why do you do that? I don't know. Stop it. Yeah, I will. Now that I know that that's an embarrassing habit, I will. My husband wipes his feet across the floor to take his socks off after work.
Starting point is 01:06:31 Oh, like that's... How does that work? How does that work? They must be loose socks. I couldn't do that with my socks. Just take them off like a grown adult. My husband is this weird grunt coup to babies when he's holding them. And every time he does it, I'm like, yuck.
Starting point is 01:06:46 I'm going to divorce this guy immediately. A grunt coo. A grunt co. Like a pigeon? Like a pigeon? Someone messaged in. My stepdad puts Milo in his sashay latte and calls it a mochaeino. Yum.
Starting point is 01:07:03 I loved us. Well, there was, what was the original? Oh, the guy, a woman dobed in her boyfriend for when they go to a cafe, gets a big, huge cup of iced milk. Sips it from a straw like a bubba. Some other messages in, every time he gets a tea, it's so milky. it's almost white. It's like he is just having a hot cup of milk water.
Starting point is 01:07:24 Hot milk with a... Of tea. Yeah. My partner, he always eats all the chips at a party like a child does. Like he'll just stand by them and just like keep shoving them in his mouth. Oh my God, that would be so it for me.
Starting point is 01:07:34 He's not deprived of chips. We have chips at home all the time. Just eating the chip. But that's just how he eats chips who just stand there just shoveling them in his mouth. And not talking to anyone, just being all about the chips. My husband regurgitates his food and swallows it again after he eats, mate. What? Well, they do say that you should chew your food and eat it slowly.
Starting point is 01:07:53 I'm a fast eater. Slowly, just do it once, you know. Yeah. Somebody said my partner listens to Talkback Radio and occasionally argues with the callers they have on. Oh, that's okay. That's okay. We're not having sex tonight. My mate's husband still eats his boogers.
Starting point is 01:08:07 He's 45 years old. She said my mate's husband, but do you reckon that's like? That's her husband. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh my God, yes. My partner will sniff his fingers after having a scratch. Pooh.
Starting point is 01:08:20 You do that. You do that. Poo, poo. I hate it. My husband loves eating fingernails and toe nails, especially fingernails while driving. Nothing worse than hearing them start crunching on them. No, what? You shouldn't be swallowing that.
Starting point is 01:08:31 No, as soon, if you have to riff off a fingernail of your mouth. Yeah. Yeah. Out of the window. Yeah. Out the window. You go. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:40 And then it goes on to the person in the back. Yeah, it goes back in. Can do. My husband uses bobby pins to remove gank-ass airwax airwax. To be fair, the bobby pin's good Because it's got a little loop on it You can get over And then push down in and drag it out
Starting point is 01:08:56 My dad's an air scratcher I love it From the moment I've known him To now Anything Most days I'll just pull my Most days we'll be on air And we'll just like
Starting point is 01:09:05 I've done it right now And I'll pull my headphone jack Out of the Headphone connection And just have a little End of sunglasses My dad's never got something in his ear It's not good
Starting point is 01:09:14 Actually that feels really nice I get it's brow It feels really I get it all Feels really Um, my husband, my ex-husband, there you go, there's a sign. Used to sneeze without covering his nose properly and I'd find dried snod on the walls, hence X. Ooh, yuck.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Ooh, my partner picks her boogers and slurps them off her finger. Slurps? Like, squallows. Yuck, yuck. Ew, yark. Yeah. Grim. My wife told me I have to stop by having like a flamingo.
Starting point is 01:09:46 That's when I had to put my foot down. That's Rory. Rory. It's a good one Rory. I don't know. I love when he Rory snakes a punner on the show. I'm a big fan.
Starting point is 01:09:54 My partner makes me check that you really can't see his nipples through his t-shirt every time we leave the house. He's very south conny about his big bicky nips. Oh, no. But then he does this creepy thing where rubs them at me and honestly it makes me feel quite unwell. Oh, no. Are we talking like a New Zealand cookie time or a giant cookie time?
Starting point is 01:10:14 Could we get a follow up there on that? Big bicky nips. I'm thinking at least sort of a... Or they did they just. just poke out of that long sort of like sausage nips. No, but Bickey. I'm thinking of Pam's finest. Could be like the Christmas buckets.
Starting point is 01:10:26 No, I think we're going bigger than that. I think we're going at least farm bake. Could be a mellow puff. You know, could be both right hand out. And then he rubs them at her. The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fleshhorn and Haley. So Little Pohl today is do you pre-heat your air friar?
Starting point is 01:11:03 Apparently, um, recipes. calling for the pre-heating your air-rider on the rise. You know, be like, first of all, pre-heat the oven to 1.80 degrees. I always preheat the oven. I thought that's what you had to do. It's like an oven. No, it's hot. It's like a microwave. Preheat your microwave to 5,000 degrees. What do you do? Do you just turn on for a minute? You leave it on for a couple of minutes at the temperature you're cooking at.
Starting point is 01:11:25 Or maybe like one minute, but not. Oh, not hours. I'm not pre-hating an air-friarer. How ridiculous. Can I just share something? If we're going to talk about air-friars, I've got the most. amazing salmon recipe. Because salmon's really hard to cook sometimes.
Starting point is 01:11:39 It is, and the skin can stick to a cast iron pan. And you want it to get just that perfect flaky. Eight minutes in air fry, don't touch it. Because I have been thinking I need to start getting more omegas because my short-term memory is no good and I can't do the omega-3,000 tablets because of get the fishy. You get the fish. Well, you don't get that from the salmon in the air-fra.
Starting point is 01:11:55 Eight minutes and air-friar. So apparently, you can skip pre-heating for most foods, like frozen snacks, vegetables and chicken. convenience foods but you should preheat when you're doing crispy coatings. Searings, meats get a better out of... Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:11 Who's searing meat in a... Air fry? I've seen a steak in an air fry. Kill me. And it's good for like... If you did a tuna or a salmon fillet, it's good. Eight minutes. Eight minutes. Yeah, that's really good.
Starting point is 01:12:24 I'm actually going to look into that because I can't do the fish oil tablets because I get the burps. I get it though because you know you don't want to go cold to hot slowly with the meat because then you don't get that crisp. And then also, apparently, foods with short cook times, like toast.
Starting point is 01:12:38 I don't know who's putting toast in an air dryer. Shame, get a toaster. But they can turn out better with a hot start as well. I think it's worth a couple of minutes. A couple of minutes. A couple of minutes. All I refuse to. Silly to poll here, preheat your air friar.
Starting point is 01:12:53 70% of people said no. Well, you're morons. 13% said yes. And 16% of people said I don't own an air fry. I love putting frozen sugar. and drum six in the air fryer, 30 minutes from cold to perfect. It's my boy dinner. Oh, Edward.
Starting point is 01:13:08 Oh, Edward. We simply must try better. Alana said, never even thought about pre-hitting it, and I don't own an oven. I cook everything in my air friar from lasagna to muffins. How does she do is a Lazardgne? A small Lazardgne. Oh, no, she might have a big double-drawer air-friar. It's just a little one.
Starting point is 01:13:26 Ankle. You've got an ankle. I've got a double drawer. I've got a double-dra ninja. I don't use my much, but I've had it for years. It was so good. When I turn it on, I slip in whatever I'm cooking and use the heat-up time. Don't say slip in.
Starting point is 01:13:40 Slip in whatever I'm cooking and use the heat-up time as a bonus warm-up for the food. I also don't really have any understanding of how to use an air-fry to its best advantage. It's a reheat machine for me. Seldom do I cook anything from scratch? Yeah, yeah, or pizza, like next-day pizza in the air-fry for a couple of minns. Yeah. Raw-dog, everything always and maybe whack or two extra minutes on the end, says Michael. Yeah, I always like a couple of extra.
Starting point is 01:14:03 minutes, unless it's fish. Oh, okay, I've got a Kmart now. Is Anko the Kmart? Or is Anko Warehouse? Anko Kmart. It's just like a round rocket ship with one drawer. She's got one as well and it came with a specific instruction, never to turn on empty. I didn't read the instructions for Anko Airfire. What is stupid instruction? What do you mean never turn on empty?
Starting point is 01:14:23 It's not going to blow up. That's stupid. Alex said the instructions told me not to. It's pretty cheap. Who reads instructions on new appliances? What's going to It's not a microwave. It's not like leaving an oven empty for like five hours and it gets a bit hot and confused. Jane's citing the Bible here.
Starting point is 01:14:41 If God wanted us to pre-head our airfriars, he wouldn't have required us to set the timer for it to start heating. True. Hawks said, I used to have one, but it took up too much room, got a new oven with an air-friar mode, though. Yeah. And that needs preheating.
Starting point is 01:14:56 Those were expensive. I thought an oven with an air-friar mode was just a preheated fan bake. So did I. Why? No, ovens now are like crazy. Ovens now have got so many functions. It's all bullshit. It's all too many digits and buttons.
Starting point is 01:15:10 My microwave has a grill feature and it came with this like metal plate that you put it on the grill feature. So then I thought that my microwave, you could microwave metal. Can't. No. No, you can.
Starting point is 01:15:25 And it went, phew on that. Oh, nope. What am I pre-hitting? It says a bloody blanket. It's job is to be ready at any moment for 10 minute nuggies. Plains. My husband Place your hot water bottle inside the air friar
Starting point is 01:15:40 To warm it up Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah. Tuck it into bed. I noticed that my husband pre-heated the air friar. I said, what the fathed you doing? And now I'm wondering whether I should have been all along. No.
Starting point is 01:15:52 I said the whole reason to get one was no pre-heating. It pre-heats itself. I had no idea how angry people were debating this online. It's like a whole thing. It's the reason we've asked this question. It just gets hot fast like a microwave. Goes from nothing a hot. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:07 Because it's small. But it takes a bit longer. It's just small. Yeah, it's a small little... Like a toaster goes from nothing to hot. Okay, so the Phillips New Zealand official website says you do not need to preheat your Phillips air friar. But that's Phillips specific.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Don't speak on behalf of Anco. I'm not going to speak on behalf of all brands. No. We wouldn't dare. We wouldn't assume. Well, for Sylittle, Paul, we asked you, do you preheat your air frieheat your air fron? 70% of you said no
Starting point is 01:16:34 The ZM Podcast Network Play ZM's Flesh, Born and Haley Brussels sprouts I made me Brussels sprouts Do you know why? Because we had some chicken breast and I'm trying to be a bit healthy But there was some bacon left over
Starting point is 01:16:51 From two weekends ago And I was like I don't think she'd be eating bacon From two weeks ago Why it's bacon You can eat it from like two years ago No I don't think we can
Starting point is 01:17:01 Doesn't it go of it's slum It had been cooked? It had been cooked. Do you think this is my stomach? Oh, God, yeah, I reckon he's... I don't want to say anything. No. We're not both...
Starting point is 01:17:10 He's not feeling very well this morning. Okay, yeah. Yeah, you ate old bacon, you dumb bitch. No! You can't eat bacon. It's like ham, right? Yeah. I know it gets...
Starting point is 01:17:22 I know it's... But I don't think you can have it just open... If it's sealed... It was sealed. It was the best before was... It was the best before was still good. Wait, had it had it been... Uncooked or cooked and then reheated.
Starting point is 01:17:36 No, just bacon. Slimy. Slimy bacon. Well, that's all right. It's been cured. That's all right. No, no, not eating cooked bacon. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:17:43 I thought you'd been cured and you'd open and you'd left it. It gets a bit smelly and a bit slimy. No, no, no, she was good. She was wrapped and glad rep. Okay. Doubting yourself, don't you? So much. He's not well at all.
Starting point is 01:17:56 I'm going to have to come plain. Okay, so anyway. How long can you leave uncooked bacon? you carry on that's been opened the best before date was yeah but that's before when it hasn't been opened
Starting point is 01:18:09 but it's a big pack you're telling me when you get one of those big packs yeah you can leave it in the fridge you can totally leave them in the fridge I've done it years and years and years open raw bacon lasts one week in the refrigerator this is like a week signs of spoilage
Starting point is 01:18:22 a sour off smell slimy or sticky texture grey or greenish colour or possible mold growth I mean that's when it's properly bugging and it was wrapped like properly Okay. Anyway, so I've got the bacon, less on the bacon.
Starting point is 01:18:36 I've got bacon and we're having chicken breast for dinner. And I was like, oh my God, that bacon, why don't I do my Brussels sprouts? Because I do, I chop up the bacon, I chop up some onion. Yeah. Onion and then I chop. Thank you for pronouncing the G. So many people forget. I'm so sick of people dropping the G and onion.
Starting point is 01:18:54 And then I get the pan super hot, olive oil, salt pepper, and I just char these things to death. Yeah. And it's so nice. We were just talking about air fry. I do them in the air fry. Air fry Brussels sprouts are insane. And you stop every now and then give it this guy. Yeah, shake it.
Starting point is 01:19:09 And then salt and vinegarette. What are you, balsamic? Yeah. No, I like it. I like doing it in the pan. I had a bit of time. So anyway, I did them in the pan and eating these Brussels sprouts. And Mike was like, man, mean Brussels.
Starting point is 01:19:21 And I was like, how good are Brussels sprouts? We're talking about how they were just the devil's food when we were growing up. Because our mothers, blessed them, boiled them or steamed them, never flavoured them. and then drown them in cheese sauce. So Mike was telling me as well they've actually been, they have actually changed. Yes, they have.
Starting point is 01:19:36 They're way less bitter. They are less bitter. Brussels sprouts. And I was like, man, used to hate them. Now they're like a fave. Like every time they have them, I'm like, yum.
Starting point is 01:19:44 I'll order them at a fancy restaurant because they do them all nice. And I was like, let's talk about this tomorrow. The things that you used to hate that now you love. Maybe you've done a 180. We do as we get older, our palettes change, right? Like you could be food.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Yeah, for sure. Like I used to be real picky. And now I'm like slurping up oysters. My mom's like, Who are you? Who are you? But maybe it's like a show or some music. Maybe you grew up and you were completely like a metalhead
Starting point is 01:20:08 and now you're like, I'm country music through and through. What do you love now that you hated before? Love this. So many messages on. Let's start with you. What did you used to hate but you love now? I said my siblings. That's nice.
Starting point is 01:20:22 That's nice that you've come around to that. Did you fight with your siblings a lot as a kid? I had six siblings. Oh, geez. So growing up, there was like, my eldest sibling is 33 and my youngest is 16 and we were all in the house together. I think there was just a lot of tension. Yeah. How old did you say the oldest one was?
Starting point is 01:20:42 She's 33, 34. Pass off, move out of home, get out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, chow. Yeah. We're not there anymore. This is when we were kids. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think a lot of people would feel like that.
Starting point is 01:20:54 Not everyone, but would feel like that. You fight and fight and fight and then you realize, oh, I actually. like you're like a little gift in life. Oh, I actually can stand you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Just takes one night out. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:07 We're waiting for the youngest one to be 18 and all of us hit the town together. Yeah, I love that. That's so good. Honor, thank you. I have a great day. Sophie, what did you used to hate but you love now? Avicado.
Starting point is 01:21:21 Oh, interesting. What did you hate about them? Oh, I was like you. I was kind of fuzzy kids. I think it was a texture, I don't know, but such a downfall loving it now. And what turned it around for you? Good guok?
Starting point is 01:21:37 Yeah, I reckon it was guac. Yeah, good guac. Good guac. Good guac. Yeah, like a homemade guac or one in a restaurant where they do it in front of you. And it's chumcats, a little bit chinkat. Yeah, it's good stuff. Thank you, Sophie.
Starting point is 01:21:48 Some messages in. Mayanase, growing up in the 90s. Toxic Diet Culture convinced me I didn't like it. I'm almost 40 now, and that shit goes on everything. I love mayonnaise. Yeah. Erica said going to bed early. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:22:00 Love that. And corn beef. Loves a bit of corned beef now. Again, corned beef done right. Yeah. You're more than least got pastramian. That's just kind of microwave corned beef recipe that Alison White asked my mum for. You know, famous chef.
Starting point is 01:22:14 Alison White. I know Alison Holst. Oh, Alison White. Alison Goffield? Annabel White. Annabel Langby? No, Annabel Langbone. No, Annabel White.
Starting point is 01:22:23 She's not, I tell you what, Annabel Langboan's not popping a bloody cornbebe in the microwave, ever. No. Okay, so Annabel White is a... Television and radio chef. Yeah. And she asked my mum for it. Microwave, corn beef.
Starting point is 01:22:34 It's really good. She was like, oh my God, it's incredible. How did she come across your mum's corned beef? I met Annabel White on a set of something, and then she was talking about corn beef, and I said, my mom's going to... And then she said, oh, my God, I cooked your mum's... My goodness.
Starting point is 01:22:47 She's... Yeah, I know. Really? Well, now, I want to try your mum's cooking microwave corn beef. And try it, you shall. Well, stay tuned tomorrow when we reveal the recipe for Hayley's love's microwave cord beef. Patsy might want to protect that actually.
Starting point is 01:23:01 Oh, a little bit of IP. She probably got out of her kids' newsletters, like she did her secret family ice cream recipe. I'm not revealing that. I used to hate Coriander with a passion. This was me too. Tastes like soap. And then after I had my daughter, my taste bud change, and now I love it, I want on everything. But it's a gene, a genetic gene or genetic thing?
Starting point is 01:23:18 Because I used to have it, and then now I don't. I have had no baby that I know of. I had some wild years. I used to hate listening to the radio, says Melissa. Oh, Melissa. She says used to, thankfully. Yes. Spotify is my go-to-in now. I listen to you guys every morning.
Starting point is 01:23:35 Oh, Melissa. Thank you. Thank you, Melissa. It's great to have you here. Antrovies, hated them for years and years. Had a baby last year and now I craved them when I was pregnant. The babies are weird, eh? Now I have to have a constant supply of them.
Starting point is 01:23:46 They're so salty and delicious. Yeah. It is weird how pregnancy and that can change things within you. It's so weird. I used to hate mushrooms, says India. As a child, I picked them out of it. if everything is an adult, I love a good fried mushroom with everything, same as veggies on a whole.
Starting point is 01:24:00 Creamy mushroom. But I realized it was because of how they were cooked. Mushroom obsessed, is my cap says. How did mum cook mushrooms in the 90s? My mum didn't. No, my mum didn't either. She'd peel them. Mum would peel them.
Starting point is 01:24:11 Yeah. Peel them, eh? The dirt's the flavour beef. Yeah, it is, I know. We've got off the huge rocks of dirt. Shane said smacks straight across the bottom. Used to hate them. We used to hate them.
Starting point is 01:24:24 We used to be terrified of a big smack. from daddy, didn't we? We're just receiving them from the wrong person. And now who's... And now she loves a dixing them out or getting them, baby. Woo! Smacks her back! She loves a smack from daddy. The ZN Podcast Network.
Starting point is 01:24:38 Play ZDN's Flesh Forne and Haley. Babavanya. Remember her? Is she the Nostradamus prophet? Yeah, the blind Bulgarian mystic. She's always saying this is the date. Now, I didn't realize this. She died 30 years ago.
Starting point is 01:24:53 Did she? Did she? We see these articles all the time. Baba Vanya says this date is the end of the world. Baba Vanya says watch out for this, you know. Yeah. For seeing, you know, the end of humanity. She's been dead for 30 years.
Starting point is 01:25:09 These are predictions she made apparently, currently, when she was alive. And a family member has been conveying these saying, Babavanya heads up. Babavanya told me. Now, if that doesn't make this. Of course she did. So the world's doomed.
Starting point is 01:25:26 I just thought I wanted to bring that. You know, she said that again. Yep. Three of five of her major prophecies to date have been unfulfilled. Yeah, she doesn't have a great hit rate. But she had a lot of them for 2026. Here are the ones that are going to be happening, honestly, in the next month or so. Okay, okay, here we go.
Starting point is 01:25:47 A massive spacecraft will land and we will be making contact finally with aliens. Now, you know, I believe in, so that's pegged for November. Oh, okay. So we've got to, like, let's tidy up. So should we... There's so much trash around. Aliens are going to come down and be like, ooh, rubbish. Well, should we get our Christmas shopping done pre that, or will there still be Christmas?
Starting point is 01:26:05 I don't know. If the aliens are friendly. I'm not doing no-nut November if there's aliens coming. Oh God, no, I'd do more nut. Yeah, because it's stressful. What if they invade? What if it's the end? The end of it all?
Starting point is 01:26:15 Or what if they're really hot and I'm out of practice? Dude, we've got two months to live it up, okay? According to Bubba Vanya, who, by the way, a reminder, died 30 years ago. Yep. Okay, now this one feels almost as if we could be knocking. on the door. World War 3 tied to China, Taiwan tensions and a Russia-U.S.
Starting point is 01:26:31 Confrontation. Well, she's on the money there, yeah. That's Babavanya. And that's happening before the end of 2026. Yeah. Maybe the aliens could come in. Distract us a bit from that. Surely both won't happen. And Putin's going to lose power. Now, Putin wasn't around. Really?
Starting point is 01:26:47 It sounds like the new relative is kind of trying to cash in on the sum. Bit of filler. Yeah. Putin's losing power and being replaced as Russian leader. This is all happening before the end of the year. The other ones have already been fulfilled. She had five, I said, for 2026. Natural disasters. Obviously we've had earthquakes, wildflies, if floods and massive storms.
Starting point is 01:27:03 There are going to be those every year. Barbar Farnia predicted it. Okay. And machines replacing humans. Which happens a lot. Yeah. And we'll be happening more and more. And it will be undetectable on Fletch Vaughn and Helene.
Starting point is 01:27:19 Let's come back in December and see how much of these have come true. So there is World War III. There is contact with aliens and Putin being replaced. as Russian leader. I counted 79 all rights today. Fletcher, I believe that's a new personal record. Oh, fuck off.
Starting point is 01:27:34 How many of those did you count? 79 of those, too. All right. Well, if you enjoyed today's podcast, give us a rate and review. Oh, fuck off. Play ZM's Fletchhorn and Haley.
