Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Fletchbourne and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Treat yourself to McCafe coffee with MyMackersRewards. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. I'm so excited to be going home this weekend. Your Wellington comedy shows? My Wellington comedy shows sold out, so mwah. What about that single ticket? Did somebody buy that?
Starting point is 00:00:22 Someone bought it. Did they? Yay! Someone bought it. There was one ticket left. You should give them a shout out. Who bought the last ticket? Who was it? Who was it? Yeah, I should buy them a drink maybe.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Yeah. I'll try and find out. So I'm going home and I love being in Wellington and I'm so excited to see my best friend. We've been best friends for 30 years. Wow. You old bitch. Do you know what the fuck I am old, eh? The story is that we met at Kindy and we're both a bit of loners,
Starting point is 00:00:46 kind of like, you know, borderline ADHD, but sort of full on. Yeah. And I was on the swing and she came up to me and said, I'll be your best friend if you let me have a go on the swing. And I was like, yep.
Starting point is 00:00:55 30 years later. Wow. You're crazy, eh? That's amazing. All she wanted was to go on the swing. She just wanted to go on the swing. Wow. And now we are besties.
Starting point is 00:01:01 That's cool. Isn't it crazy? Like, because, yeah, our friend Alice the other night who was up for that concert, sheies um isn't it crazy like because yeah our friend alice the other night who was up for that concert she's like we've known each other like 20 years i know when you think about things the fuck we have i know yeah i know and you're like man i have seen all versions of you yes yeah i've seen the good the bad the goth the wet the goth the yeah the pierced the the vommy the vommy sad, the crying, the happy, the pregnant.
Starting point is 00:01:26 It's unreal. Anyway, one of the things I love to do with her is we both grew up in the same small town in a small village. Rangiora. No! My body was born there. My consciousness was born in Wellington. I am not a Christchurch person. I'm a Wellingtonian.
Starting point is 00:01:42 We grew up in Eastbourne, which is this little seaside village. It's lovely. I'm a Wellingtonian. We grew up in Eastbourne, which is this little seaside village. It's lovely. It's lovely, darling. We always like to drive out there and like go to the old places. Do you ever do this? Yeah, what is it about doing that?
Starting point is 00:01:55 Or like driving past your old school. You're like, I went there. Oh my God, I know. Or like I'll always drive past the houses we lived in. Yeah. And I'll be like, how are they keeping the property? My mother renovated that. They were always like smaller and like not how you remember, right? past the houses we lived in yeah and i'll be like how they're keeping the property and then my mother renovated that they were always like smaller and like not how you remember right always smaller
Starting point is 00:02:10 do you know i believe that i grew up in a mansion yeah and i believed that we had three paddocks yeah we had three patches of grass that sort of went up a thing and my mom was like no it was like a like a medium cottage quarter acre yeah it was like a cottage with a quarter and i was like huh in my head i remember being like i live in a goddamn palace but as a kid you're like everything was massive i mean because you were little yeah yeah my favorite house i grew up in though it's like the garage is at the bottom and it kind of goes through a path and the house is up in the bush and you can't see it right and i'm always like how do i get up there do i go up the path and be like hey knock knock knock yeah is jamie here and i'll be like no i'll be like now you sound like you're casing a house
Starting point is 00:02:54 for sort of am like i sort of want to look at it also this tv show i was watching recently um the the spy knocked on the door and the lady answered she's like oh my god I grew up here as a kid I'd love to come in and look around and the lady let her in
Starting point is 00:03:10 and then she shot her in the head fuck yeah okay yeah I do want to say that hey I grew up here
Starting point is 00:03:17 this is one of my favourite memories can I have a look around would you be creeped out if someone did that to you I would yes but I'm a mega famous superstar right you definitely have to get I have no intention of shooting her. Would you be freaked out if someone did that to you? I would, yes. But I'm a mega famous superstar.
Starting point is 00:03:30 You definitely have to get a vibe of the person. But it's still a bit creepy. Like, look at the outside. Just let it go. I'd have to, like, Aaron would have to be there. The door would have to stay open. Yeah, it would depend on who it was. Yeah, it's a bit creepy. I'm so looking forward to it, though.
Starting point is 00:03:40 I just love, there's something so beautifully nostalgic about it. Yeah. And then you're like, oh, man. And then you'll see kids and then you'll feel old yeah i'll be like oh there's the shot where i um broke my finger 27 years ago you know you're old you old bitch you old bitch
