But YouTube, and I got my, I didn't even know, is this their first year doing it? Definitely the first year I've seen people talking about it. Yeah.

They were very famous for their YouTube rewind videos for a few years, which were actually really good. But this is the first time I've got my, like, my specific show. Shannon how I use YouTube and I know I use it quite weirdly um because every single night I fall asleep to history videos yes that's right so for those people that don't know you put on a are they like infographic historical what what do you call them yeah just like little mini documentaries and every night I pick a different thing um so I've been doing a lot of Vietnam more recently wow what are your thoughts oh I mean like it's not good but like just the whole guerrilla warfare was just like very interesting to me.

I'm going to try and not lose people here by talking about history. I don't think you will lose people talking about history. I'm a big Russian Revolution Girl. Rasputing is one of my favorite subjects. But in my YouTube wrapped, I got a statistic that I don't know if I should be proud of or not. Oh, okay. What is it? I'm in the top 0.5% of viewers of the infographic show.

Wow. Infographic history or just any infographics. Yeah, so infographics is a channel and they post. all these videos and yeah pretty much every night i fall asleep to them so you're one of their biggest users but only because you're sleeping for i'd say about what's well so what i do is i i'm very good with my phone i turn it off i offload all my apps all social media at about six p m yep and then i only watch history videos from there that's great so then i kind of fall asleep after about an hour or so but i get a good amount of history watching it before i sleep that's why i always feel like but

i think they work it out a my spotify rapt is always like would just be brown noise or green noise because that's what they listen to but they exclude that because they know you're sleeping well this is the thing so I'm a brown noise girl too but I want to also watch my history so I use that background sounds on your phone you know he can play brown noise just by existing so like on my settings I've got brown noise just here at any point if I need it so you can hear that oh that's so nice oh my book can we just really and it's what it just plays in the background it plays on top of my history Oh, I didn't know that.

It just sounds like it's raining during Hitler. Yeah. Hitler speech. He did rain. He rained hard for a while. It's just been the best. But no, it is quite jarring to think I'm in the top 0.5% of people who watch history videos. So how do you find this out?

Your YouTube rapped? Yeah, so I went on my profile and it said, hey, here's your wrapped. And it gave me all the things. It told me my top genres and it was like Vietnam War and then like everything. Yeah. Mine was just Diary of the CEO. and Pod Save America, American politics. I'd just be stand-up clips

and a home renovation series I'm somehow still following. Well, I'm also big into Spanish plumbing at the moment. Go on. Wait, like old, old Spanish plumbing. Right, like guys get into aqueducts, Roman aqueducts. Yes, yes, yes.

There's this fountain if you've ever got 10 minutes. Oh, my God, we were talking about this, weren't we? There's a fountain, and it was the world's first, like, clock, and it was all these lions. And they worked it as they drilled holes in it. drilled holes. So every hour another funnel went out. It is just, sometimes I just love

life. And I'm like, this is so incredible that I get to learn every day. It's free for me to learn more. It is free. We paid for school. Yeah, this is why we have Shannon on our pub quiz team for the history and the pop culture. Well, except sometimes, because I fall asleep,

I don't realize the ending. And so there's this one video I fall asleep to every time. There was a Roman dictator called Nero, and he created the first transgender empress. He basically found this boy and he's like, I'm going to castrate you and now you're my wife. Wow.

And I watched this video. I would say about 20 times never making it to the end. Oh no. And recently the other night I couldn't sleep and I was like, I'm going to finish this video. I didn't. It was the most tragic ending. What happened? Spoiler alert.

I mean, he killed himself. It was very sad. Oh, good. Yeah, it was not good. But now I finally know and I can't watch it anymore. Did they build a separate bathroom? No. No, I think I'm out.

Separate bathroom would be helpful. Well, I'm just saying that, in that, I mean, it gets old people riled up now to have a separate bathroom back in the day. No, the romance were a bit more. They were a bit more progressive than we give them credit for. Lots of gay stuff. Yeah. They did love a gay sauna.

They love a gay sauna. They just made gay saunas. Yeah. They invented the gay sauna. They didn't have STIs back then, so everyone was, like, it was everywhere. Yeah. They probably did. I think they might have.

Well, they would have had them, but they didn't know what it was. I thought it was the devil, you know? The devil's work.
