Starting point is 00:00:00 From the Zedium podcast network, it's Fletchpawn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. And guys, it is a sad day for the world. I was almost going to say, should we get a bit of sad music on? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, plug in there. Yeah. What are you thinking for sad music?
Starting point is 00:00:18 Well, it just feels like cold play is always sort of the way to go. Do you know what I mean? It's a classic, it brings the tone down because it's not a father and son sadness. No. Okay, here we go. What kind of sadness would you describe it as? A loss A loss
Starting point is 00:00:32 It is a loss A great loss And it's not none of us three It is producer Shannon Who has suffered A huge loss Would you like to tell everybody About the loss of a family member
Starting point is 00:00:45 It's almost worse It's almost worse I hope your family hear this They don't have eye heart radio Those idiots They're lost They know Um, I have lost my 146 day wordl streak.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Man, I'm so sorry. Wow. Do you remember when people lost their wordal streak because they updated something? No, it's because they went to the New York Times. That's right. They went from an independent to the New York Times purchasing. And did people ever get that back? I think you could email them.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Right. Which honestly. Which I would have done. I bet people did. Yeah, 100%. I was so dedicated to this. Darling, what happened? I bragged on.
Starting point is 00:01:29 air last week about how I was nearly at 150 and I was you jinxed it high and mighty and I remember Carwin specifically saying no one gets past 150 you'll lose it at some point and I said not me watch me get to a year well the word was wound man did I guess pound hound round mound and sound boy oh yeah yeah yeah look at my screen I had four greens for five guesses I had to I had to make the loss that this week on beard oh I got that in three I felt good. B. Ed was the word. Again, a word when you get the last letters,
Starting point is 00:02:03 if you've not eliminated enough other ones, there's too many other options. Do you know what the worst part about it was? As I got to my last guess, I was like, man, this is it. Like, I'm risking it. And I was like, it could be found or bound. And I was sitting there and I was like,
Starting point is 00:02:18 what do I do? What do I do? And then the answer was wound. It wasn't even what I was debating between. There was so many options of, can I swear? Yeah, please, please. Fuck you Yeah In New York Times
Starting point is 00:02:31 I would think so good I'm in the anger stage now Yeah this is the anger stage of grief Do you know I did go through denial Because you can change your phone settings And go back a day No but your soul would know Yeah well you can you can like
Starting point is 00:02:43 If you forgot to do word for a day You can change your phone and be like Hey it's Tuesday I'm in a different times I'm in airplane mode Yeah And then then I thought about doing it But I didn't think it would work
Starting point is 00:02:54 And I also reflected that that's really sad Yes you're in soul would know that it was all a lie. Because I was going to say, were you tempted when you had one guess left to then Google what today's answer was? A part of me was, but I knew it would be a shallow victory. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Yeah, that's right. But you still have that streak. You're better than that, Shannon. You're better than that. I just Google, the highest Wirtle streak is unknown because there's no official leaderboard. But players have reported individual streaks well over 1,000, one citing a streak of 1,055. We're only up to
Starting point is 00:03:25 Wirtle,000-55. And others claiming their longest was over 600. And these are just people that have, I guess, Reddit users that have posted their streaks. Well, now I'm on like a three. But don't give up. Like, this is, you know, do you think, you think Sir Edmund Hillary climbed the mount,
Starting point is 00:03:42 the top of the first mountain he tried to climb? No. You did. He actually did. Did it? It was a mount. And I'm in the acceptance stage now. Yeah, good.
Starting point is 00:03:51 I'm moving through the grief. Okay. I can get it back. I'll live for another 150 days probably. Yeah, girl. What did you just send to us for? There was Wurdle. See, Wurdle 1578, that's the 1,578th Wurdle. So that person has literally been playing since the start and not must have every single one right.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Is that even possible? You do get to the end though and there are where it could be like a guess. They must have a solid strategy to avoid that sort of thing. I suspect cheating, but... Well, there's a Wurdle bot so at the end of your game every day you can reflect and it'll say here's how you could have done better. He really should have guessed and all that And also like the probability of you winning at each guess being like oh there was like 25 options at this point and you guessed this
Starting point is 00:04:35 Because what is the best word to start with? I hit, I've got a three word starting point normally So I go stare, cloud, pinky And that gets all my vowels and a lot of good consonants Okay, that's good, that's good Mine was tough, I used to do tough Tough To give you some really good consonants
Starting point is 00:04:51 It gives you know I use steam Yeah steam's great Do you know what Brendan my partner uses he used as quite, which is bold from him. He's using a cue. He's getting out of it with a fucking cue. But one time it was like quiff or something and he got it in a tweed.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Quiff, quiff. It was quiff.
