Starting point is 00:00:00 From the Zedium Podcast Network. It's Fletchpawn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. I'm just going to come out and say it because I keep saying, let's talk about my new crafts. Were you talking the other day about your Ali Express? My Al Express, Burgundy Fringing. I'll tell you what that's for.
Starting point is 00:00:18 I keep saying, let's talk about my new crafts on radio. But I say, let's wait until they're finished. Famously, Haley Sproul, jumping from one thing to the next without even doing. I saw her skateboard. Did you? When I went around in a house of that. It's hidden.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Was that when you were around doing the hedges? I went around and I was evaluating the hedges, yeah. No, he was knicking my lemons. Yeah, I was looking lemons and lines. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I've got three on the go. Okay, three craft projects on the go. Wait, I thought you were busy renovating.
Starting point is 00:00:49 So busy. Yeah. And every day, I've got four crafts on the go. Okay. Four crafts on the go. Okay, I'm just going to go through them. One, I'm making lampshades. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:59 What happened to your last lampshades? Now, do you know what? New Zealand doesn't have enough funky lampshades. Okay, we've got five ideas, okay? One, lampshades. I'm making lampshades, I'm making two lampshades. One of them I'm doing fabric. I'm doing fringing, like tiered fringing.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Oh, Haley, that'll catch fire from a hot light bulb. No, no, I'm LED. LED. Tared fringing, and in the inside, I'm gold leafing it. But I got the wrong glue for the gold leaf and all went clumpy, so I've got to sand that back, and I've got all the material. But now I'm waiting on the fringing, which has been delivered to the wrong. What's the lampshade made of? You said you had to sand it back?
Starting point is 00:01:32 Wouldn't it? It's like a fabric, but it's just clumped. So when I say sand it back, I'll just give it a scuff of something. I've got to re-glue it. So I'm making lampshades. And the other lampshade I'm making, I'm winding wool around it to make this kind of fabric textured lampshade. But it's so boring wrapping it that I've wrapped about a fifth of it and it's just sat there. And so I'm making these lampshades.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And I was like, I'm going to bring them in. you're going to be so impressed, but I'm just like, that's just not, and they're never going to be made. Oh, Haley, what is the problem here? And then, okay, on the side of that, I'm going to start a website making lampshades because I've really struggled to find cool, funky,
Starting point is 00:02:10 colorful lampshades in New Zealand. You can't even make the two lampshades for yourself. Yeah, so the website. What do you? You think Steve Job's just winning jobs, whatever his name was. Job's jobs. Just went and build a computer first pop. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:23 She's a, she's a artisan crafts woman. Exactly. This thing is take time, though, order the lampshadow to be like, $200, but you've got to wait. I imagine you start this website and you get like flooded with orders and then you're like, fuck. What have I done? Fuck, what have I done?
Starting point is 00:02:38 And then you're like, you know what? I'm going to make all of these and then you just don't. And then they you get in the press for bad trade. Oh yeah, yeah, I guess. Trade and commerce. Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. You get a fine. I'm making lambshades and side to that, I'm making a website.
Starting point is 00:02:52 The third craft project I've been working on is I'm making I'm getting second-hand picture frames And I'm putting And instead of mounting them You know on like a bit of card I'm getting fabric And making like fabric mounts behind It looks really cute
Starting point is 00:03:07 It's really nice Little Pinterest inspo there You get this fabric And you kind of glue it on like that That ones I've actually made one of those Okay And I have a collection of vintage frames That I've been doing
Starting point is 00:03:17 And the other crafts That I've got that denim jacket I spoke about And I've been patching it up with Timu patches Well I got that going and I don't have enough patches. Oh, that's, yeah, if you're filling it right up, that's going to take a lot of patches. I have like 15 patches, so I've ordered 30 more patches. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:03:33 What do the patches say? Oh, they're just pitches, like, kind of tattoo-y vibes. Yeah, I've got some cats in there. Okay, great. That kind of stuff. Do you know what's funny is that the other craft have forgotten, which is sort of telling. Oh, oh, no, this one's really cool. Okay, is it?
Starting point is 00:03:53 This one's really cool. So my popper was a house painter. Did I talk about this? And I have his drop cloths from years of painting houses. All different coloured splats on it. Kind of like a Jackson Pollock almost. But from genuinely him painting houses. And they just sat there.
Starting point is 00:04:11 So I was like, why don't we make it into a bit of art? Get a canvas, cut some out, pull it on there. You know, pull it nice and tight. You've got this kind of pollicky thing, but it's my pop's house painting. drop cloths. And then I'll frame it. So I've bought the timber, but I don't know how to do a mighty cut. So there's just timber sitting there.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Right. A blank canvas sitting there. The drop cloth sitting there. So that diagnosis, when, when? When? Because I'm no doctor, but I reckon. I reckon. I reckon I'm safe to say there's four letters there.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Yeah, there's four and they're all buzzing. But when these are finished, my God. Yeah. And find my shop online.
