Starting point is 00:00:00 For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions. Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague. Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down. Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son. All episodes now available on iHeartRadio, Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. From the ZM Podcast Network, it's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. And guys, the weekend was the second time in a matter
Starting point is 00:00:42 of weeks I've been caught watching something dodgy on my iPad on a plane. I've had one of these recently too. Please carry on. I'll tell you mine. The first one was Inora, the movie Inora. It had an Academy Award nominated. It won a whole bunch. About a Russian oligarch's son who falls in love with an American exotic dancer.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Oh, it's so good. It's really good. And she won for Best Actress. It's so good. It's really good. And she won for Best Actress. It's so good. It's on Plex, isn't it, Hayley? It's on the Plex. Guys, if you want to watch it, it's on the Plex.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Hayley is outrageous. She keeps telling us about the movies on the Plex and we're like, no, Plex only has the movies that you put on there. And she's like, I haven't put any movies on there,
Starting point is 00:01:20 but it's Aaron's brother's Plex. But she's like, oh yes, no, don't. You can watch that on Plex.lex yeah plex is just a streaming platform yeah for any uh movies you have in your library yeah and you can share it yeah it's on plex though it's not everything's like modern movies like just released and i'll be like holy guys it's on plex yeah no yeah yeah it shouldn't be but his brothers go to prison at some stage. Everything on his plecs. On the plecs.
Starting point is 00:01:46 But yeah, so I was watching that and there was some quite raunchy scenes in that and I remember there was a stage where I think I was watching that and then meals were being served and I was like, oh, plus 10, plus 10, plus 10. Well, she plays a stripper. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Yeah, so there was tatties everywhere and so I was like, yeah, I think you'll like it. Is it on the plecs? I think it's on Plex. It's on Plex. It's on the Plex. Whereas I was watching it legally on the plane. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:11 As you do. And then so the other weekend was another time when it was actually an innocent scene that looked filthy. So I've just started watching The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Yes. Which is the new Jacob O' Elordi World War II show. Australian, eh? Made in Australia. Yeah, because it came out at the start.
Starting point is 00:02:30 It said Screen Time Australia or whatever it was, because Australia made a deal with the streamers that if you're going to be in Australia, you need to provide Australian content, much like any TV shows. They should do that. We're probably not big enough to command that kind of deal, but it would be amazing.
Starting point is 00:02:46 But yeah, it's an incredible cast, and Jacob Elordi's in it, and then it kind of flashes forward to him as a grown man, as a doctor, played by that incredible Irish actor. Fucking amazing actor. Who you see in everything and always plays baddies. Just so good. He's in Rome. His Australian accent is flawless.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Because Simon Baker's in it, obviously. Yeah, Simon Baker's in it. He's amazing. And do you know what? It's set as a World War II story, obviously, but I'd say it's more of a love story. I'd say there's only 20, 30% of it as... War scenes.
Starting point is 00:03:22 So it's not really war scenes. It's them as prisoners of war and it is harrowing. My mum's going to love this because she loves a story about an Asian railway being constructed by prisoners of war. I love that film. There was a scene
Starting point is 00:03:38 where the lady next to me looked over at this very one scene and it's the same way they're all being transported in a train to work on the railway and it's just same way they're all being transported in a train to work on the railway and it's just topless, sweaty men all kind of like
Starting point is 00:03:49 huddled up all huddled up in this train. We're going to be gay orgy. But it kind of, if you didn't know what I was watching, it would have looked
Starting point is 00:03:55 like a gay orgy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she just kind of looked over at me and gave me a smirk and I was like, Oh, it's not gay orgy. Excuse me,
Starting point is 00:04:00 they're prisoners of war being trained. Prisoners of war, not gay orgy. Prisoners of war, not gay, but. Prisoners of war, not gay. But just at that moment, I could see how it looked like a gay orgy, and she gave me a smirk. But, man, I tell you what, there's definitely a harrowing scene
Starting point is 00:04:13 in the second-to-last episode where... Well, it's a war story. Yeah, man. The start of it was fucking grim. Oh, dude. But it's an incredible story. I'm not going to watch it. Some of the best bits when it flashes forwards to Jacob Elordi's character
Starting point is 00:04:30 living in Hobart and Tassie. Fuck. Oh, my God. That place looks so beautiful. A friend of mine spent a couple of months filming something in Hobart. And I was like, okay, I've never really thought about it. And then she was describing it to me and showing me all these things. I was like, eh, I want to get an airbag.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Yeah, dude. It's so beautiful. I just think Tasmania on a whole would be absolutely my cup of tea. Friends have gone and said, yeah, it's beautiful. It's amazing. I'll launch it. This is our official petition to get the show to Tasmania. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Hard launch on getting us to Tasmania. Love that. Tassie trio. The Tassie. Tassie. The Tassie devils. No. Not Spazies.
Starting point is 00:05:04 You just put us back 10 years with Tourism Tasmania. Well, so have you watched one yet? Two? I'm on to the second episode. Are you liking it? Oh, yes. Yeah, it's good. Yes, I love it.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Jacob Elorde is a great actor. He's really good. Yeah, he's got kind of like a quiet, unassuming man. In this movie, yes. But in Saltwater, he was out there in full noise. He's got the range. Yeah, he's got the range. He played Elvis.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Tell you what, pretty easy on the eye. Yeah, not bad on the eye. I wouldn't say no. Yeah. I wouldn't say no. I'd say yes, please, Jacob. If you want to give that a go, The Narrow Road to the Deep North on Prime.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Amazon. Yeah, Prime Video or whatever. Yeah, whatever they're going with. They've had eight million rebrands. Yeah, I don't know why they've changed it from Amazon, to be totally honest, because that's kind of like a brand everyone knows, right? Yeah, it is.
