Starting point is 00:00:00 For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions. Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague. Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down. Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son. Starting point is 00:00:32 it's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. We're away and so the Big Pod will be back on the 28th of April. I'm currently in Brisbane Yeah
Starting point is 00:00:46 That's crazy Yeah, and Vaughn, you're currently in Auckland Capacitated My man's on the tour No, I've got no idea where I am I'm currently in Los Angeles Oh, we're having fun We did that thing where we took the four days between.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Yeah. And yeah, this is a thing. And so this is what I wanted to talk about. There's been an Airbnb booking for this holiday because there's a group of us. We're sending off big hearted James. I know. And I'm going to be the one that has the last airport goodbye and I'm the least emotional person. Oh, fuck.
Starting point is 00:01:22 You're the worst person for that responsibility. I'm going to be like, have a good time okay bye yeah anyway so but there's gonna be a lot of holidaying uh with friends big friend group was sending them off before he goes to live in london and there's an airbnb booking and there's a rule in the airbnb booking which we've just noticed, which says we have a power allowance of 25 watts a day. Excuse me? How do you know if you go over your power allowance? I don't even know what a fucking watt is!
Starting point is 00:01:53 I don't even know what's a watt! What takes up what? What's a watt? Who's a watt? Google the average household watt usage. Let me bring up this listing as well with the exact wording because I was like, oh my. So do you know what I think? Because it's
Starting point is 00:02:11 a very hot area. People leave the air con on all day. Okay, I get that. But just saying the thing, when you leave the house or please don't run it. The cheapest and most effective way to use air conditioning is to leave it on. Not to to crank it up and crank it down. Is that because then the house gets hot, right?
Starting point is 00:02:29 And then it has to work harder to cool it down? I think so. Oh, for God's sake. How pathetic. But isn't that so weird? Power of watts is equal to 1,000 times the energy in kilowatt hours divided by the consumption. I don't fucking know. That's not helping me understand.
Starting point is 00:02:42 It says the average power bill in New Zealand in 2025 is 7,107 kilowatts of electricity over 12 months. Oh no. Okay, so yeah. So I don't know what's going to happen here. What? What? What's going to happen? How are you supposed to measure it?
Starting point is 00:02:58 25 watts a day are going to happen. This is the exact listing. Our hosting service includes 25 KW free per day. KW, yeah, okay. This electricity is enough for you to enjoy your stay. You can use everything as usual, including the air conditioner, but we highly recommend you turn the lights and air conditioner off
Starting point is 00:03:16 when you're not using them. It's our desire to be energy conscious, blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, so plan it. We will apply an extra charge per kW if you exceed the 25 KW per day. You're not fucking allowed to do that. The average power bill for New Zealanders in 2025 was at 7,000 kilowatts. Divided that by 365 days for the day is 19.47 kilowatts. You can't go extra.
Starting point is 00:03:40 My thing is, like, you check in at 3 o'clock. You should get to carry that over to the nextclock. That's most of the day gone. You should get to carry that over to the next day. Like, where's the meter reading? You need to be clocking up the watts. It's also not going to say if they're not. You need to know where you're at. I know.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Like, you can't go blind. No, no, no, because at the end you don't know. You have another bill coming. So now you're living the whole stay in this Airbnb, like, freaking out the whole time. That's not a fun relaxing holiday. Don't say what you get charged per KW. They don't say what's you're getting charged for the what.
Starting point is 00:04:12 So I reckon they're just full of shit. I reckon they just don't want people going crazy. And this is just a little bit of a, hey, don't go crazy. But when we check in, I'm going to ask what the kilowatt meter reading is. We should go outside and find out on the things. And then I'm going to say, what is it now? So that we can know how many. Yeah, I'm going to ask what the kilowatt meter reading is. We should go outside and find it on the things. And then I'm going to say, what is it now so that we can know how many... I'm on to them. Track it.
Starting point is 00:04:30 They'll have a digital. Play them in their own game. I reckon they're full of shit. And they're just scaring us into not leaving the air con on all day. What a weird thing to say. Weird. I've never seen that before. Turn the air con off when you leave the house and the lights because we conserve power.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Don't. Oh, God. Some people shouldn't have rented their places on Airbnb. Why? 100%. Why are you doing it? 100%. It's obviously more trouble than it's worth to do.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Get a full-time tenant and make them take care of the power. Exactly. Taking care of. Exactly. Done.
