Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod.
And welcome to you too, Fletch.
And welcome to you too, Hayley.
Thank you. Vaughan, also welcome.
Over the weekend, went to David Walliams from Little Britain.
Oh yes.
His show.
Compute has no.
He came out, he opened
the show as dressed as
Carol.
But what did he do? Talk to the audience and they
asked him questions. He just kind of intro'd the show
as Carol and then played a video and
came back on stage.
It's just a big Q&A. There was a podcast
host from Australia that was kind of
interviewing him.
Oh, I don't know
Lazy Wezza
and Whippersnipper
so we had like
quite good seats
kind of like
in the middle
of the front bit
nice
and
what theatre was it at
AOTS Square
yeah
Dame Kitty
the Kitty Te Kanoa
did one of you two
say it was
in Wynyard Quarter
because we were about
to all lime scooter there
and then someone's like
are you sure it's not
in AOTS Square and I was like I don't know I think I might have that's the ASB
theater yes yes oh my god yeah so you Hayley nearly made us all scooted like to the other
side of town what was the installation that you had a photo at the the lights oh it's in Aotea
Square like some kind of for David Williams it was no something else it's just some kind of instagram council trap yeah right to make you post on instagram and it worked
it worked anyway so the show is about to start and in the middle like a couple of seats away from me
is a guy there with his girlfriend i would say 20s hot hot gets out this um metal thing and i'm like
wow weird what's that and then hey it's kind of like different arms on hinges.
It's kind of like a tripod.
And he attaches the bit to the seat.
And it's like, and then puts his phone facing the stage.
You can't do that.
And I'm like, you can't do that.
And then I said to my friend James next to me, I said,
James, he's like, what's he thinking?
You can't do that.
You can't do that.
I said, of course, you can't do that.
You can't do that.
You can't do that.
You can't record.
You can't even, like there were signs saying no photography or video at all during the show.
You can't even get your phone out and take a photo.
I mean, you could, but you're not meant to.
Or you'd leave the flash on and make a right call.
That's happened to me once.
I was doing a comedy show and in it I got changed into all these different outfits.
And I just did it on stage.
So in some of the show I was just in a bra and undies.
And I remember seeing this big like, what up?
And I was like, who was it?
What?
Yeah, and it was someone who'd taken a photo.
Do you remember those, because they're getting quite, especially the productions with nude scenes,
they're getting very serious with those privacy bags and lock bags.
Yeah.
Because that was the actor from Grey's Anatomy with the massive wang,
and someone took a picture of his massive wang.
I mean, but thank you to that person that did take that time.
Yeah, thank you for breaching the protocols and the law there.
That was McWang, wasn't it?
McWang, yeah.
Not McDreamy.
McSteamy, McWang.
McWang.
And everyone saw his wang.
And I'm just like, oh, what's he doing?
And I'm like, this isn't good.
Because he's in the middle.
And I'm like, someone during the show is now going to have to come down and tell him to stop.
And they're going to have to come past us.
Oh, God.
You're in the middle of a row.
And so sure enough, one of the ushers.
So what?
Did he just record the whole thing?
Like he started recording the whole thing?
And because he had the tripod, he didn't have to hold his phone.
And it was just like set up behind the shoulders of the two people in front of him.
So he was getting a perfect view.
So weird.
From the middle.
Like weird, eh?
Really weird.
Who would think that was appropriate? appropriate well i don't know maybe
because he was maybe he hadn't been too many live shows like everyone knows you can't bring your
phone out and yeah so then this usher this lady had to come and you know those seats you have to
kind of get up yeah yeah flip seats like 15 people because he was in the middle like 15 people had to
be like oh sorry she's like sorry sorry and she didn't just tell you to tell him to take off.
No.
And then she tells him to stop recording.
And the look on his face was just like, he could not believe it.
He didn't understand why.
He could not understand it.
What was he going to do with it?
Yeah, what?
Like maybe put it on?
Unplug it again?
Yeah, like comedians get really upset when people do this and put their sets online, right?
Yeah, totally.
Because they tour the same show. And you're supposed to make it feel like you're just telling that story that night
It's the art of comedy
But you're wild
With a tripod who brings a tripod to a show
I'm surprised they didn't kick him out
People are the pits eh
I am starting to think people are just fucking useless
People are the awful pits
Out of their minds Out of their minds.
Out of their minds, the pits.
Rocks in their head.
Rocks in their head and a singlet on their body because they're a cold child.
And tell you what, what's next?
Marrying your dogs!
