Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Fleshborn and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Treat yourself to McCafe coffee with my Macca's rewards. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. I'll tell you what, they'll get you. They'll get you. Who? Who? The voucher people. The voucher people.
Starting point is 00:00:18 Who are the voucher people? The voucher people with their expiry dates. That's who will get you. Oh. They nearly got me. They nearly. Oh. They nearly got me. They nearly got you. They nearly got me my three weeks. And I'll tell you what, they didn't get me because I got in and I used my voucher at
Starting point is 00:00:32 the weekend. You were three weeks before it was due to expire. Yeah, two. So this is a voucher from last Christmas? No, the one before. I had two years. Unheard of. Usually just one year.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Voucher for a store that has kitchenware. Kitchen things. No. Kitchen things is kitchen. No. Everything that you would need for the kitchen and home in one store. Stevens. Might have been Stevens. Oh right. Might have been Stevens. Was it Insider Farmers?
Starting point is 00:00:59 No it wasn't. It was Insider Mall. So anyway I had a voucher for $100. And I found it when I was cleaning my drawer of crap. And I was like, oh, my God, I've been holding onto this for, like, the next time I need a new fry pan or whatever. Yep. And I was like, oh, my God, expiry date, December, like, next week
Starting point is 00:01:20 or two weeks away. And I was like, oh, my God, I simply must use this. And I went into the store not knowing what I needed because I don't need anything. And then so I was kind of wondering, like that's quite weird, eh, when you have to spend money. Yes. And you don't want to, you don't need to.
Starting point is 00:01:37 My wife calls this going for a look. I'm just going to go for a look at the shops. I'm like, don't go for a look because a look leads to a spend. Yeah. And then before you know it, you've, yeah. So I thought maybe I'll get some of those nice gin glasses that are, you know, the bulb-y ones. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Real nice. But they didn't have any of those. And I've got every other. What are those called? Are you talking about like the old champagne ones that aren't a flute? Well, no, they're actually called gin glasses. They're called gin glasses. I don't know if they have a name, but they're for gin.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Do they have a stem? Yeah, but not as big as like. Fr're actually called gin glasses. They're called gin glasses. I don't know if they have a name, but they're for gin. Do they have a stem? Yeah, but not as big as like- Frantically Googling gin glasses. Ah, yeah, I can't. They're real nice. I like that. They're real nice. I like that.
Starting point is 00:02:13 And also thought they'd be good for Aperol, but they didn't have any of those kind. And so I was like, okay, well, not glasses. Don't they look like I'm literally seeing Stephen's hair as the first paid, like they're paid to go top of the list of gin glasses. They're nice. I think this store, though, was out of them, like they're paid to go top of the list. They're nice. They're nice.
Starting point is 00:02:28 I think this store though was out of them just because I think people love their gin glasses. Right. And I was like, well, I'm not going to get, I'm not going to ask them to order them in. I'm here. I want something now.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I've got to spend this voucher. It's burning a hole in my pocket. And then that's when I got a gigantic charcuterie board. Like a beveled edge. What's round, but it's like this big. got a gigantic chancutery board. Not a platter. Beveled edge. Well, it's round, but it's like this big. Tell the listener
Starting point is 00:02:50 the size of that. From the ground? No, my arms. Oh, so it's a circular one. It's a circular one with a handle. I'd say 60 centimetres diameter. 65 centimetres diameter?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Maybe even. It's big and it's beautiful. And then, what kind of wood is it? A beveled? It's big and it's beautiful. And then... What kind of wood is it? A dark... It's a dark wood. We've got a beveled edge all around the board.
Starting point is 00:03:10 And I tell you what, we got it home and we used it before Paramore. And Hayley is not here to attest to how beautiful this charcuterie is. Right. It's lovely. Lovely. And they didn't get me. They didn't get me with the voucher. They didn't get you because it got in there.
Starting point is 00:03:22 The expired voucher. Yeah, gotcha, gotcha. Because I remember back in the day, the voucher thing that used to last a year, and then there was kind of a bit of an uproar that you only had a year. Yes. To spend your voucher. Yeah. And they kind of, a lot of places extended them.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. I think if, because they've got to account for it, right? At the end of year accounts, they've got to say. Yeah. So then at the end of it, they could write them off. So they're like, well, that's not an outstanding debt technically to the company. You'd think two years would be long enough, but I don't know why, but this just stayed in the drawer.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Imagine how many vouchers go to waste. I could name hundreds of dollars worth of vouchers. I've probably two quite nice massage vouchers alone that I got for my birthday that I just ended up like forgetting about and being like, I'll go and do that when I've got time. And I just never made the time. Or you wait until you're sore and you need it and then you just forget about it. Or you just call in and you're like, I'm in, I've got time
Starting point is 00:04:12 and they're like, we don't have any spaces for you. You're like, all right. And they're like, do you want to book something? You're like, no, I don't know when I'm going to have time. You've got to make time. Yeah. Especially for a massage voucher. A nice massage voucher at a place that plays Balinese music.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Which is rip-offs of actual Balinese music. What? Yeah, and every now and then you'll hear a cover of a top 40 song. Like a Rihanna song done with wind chimes. Yeah, yeah. Bum, bum, ba-dum, bum, dum, dum, da-dum, dum, dum, da-dum, da-dum, da-dum, da-dum. Just enough to get out of paying copyright. Yeah, just skirting it enough because it's a very different sounding instrument.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Play ZM's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley.
