Starting point is 00:00:00 For a few years, in the 1970s, the Mr Asia syndicate made millions. Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of play. Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down. Then he just pulled out a gun, shot her in the back of the head, and then said to Wayne, you're going to help me bury her. This is Mr Asia, A Forgotten History. All episodes now available on iHeartRadio, Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:00:30 From the ZM Podcast Network, it's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod, the live show and the big potter back on the 28th of April. Now, we were going to talk about this in a previous podcast, but we got sidetracked by something more interesting. So I'm rehearsing for the great opportunity to talk about my comedy show again. I'm rehearsing for my comedy show, my new show, The Baroness, my Hayley Sprout of Comic Tickets. Which you're currently performing in Australia in this place.
Starting point is 00:01:00 No, I'm performing Wild Fathers. No, that's the old one. The old one, the old one. God, don't put the fear of Christ in me that that show would be ready. So I hire the space. I've talked about it before. I hire the space because I can't work at home. It's just I get distracted and it's home is where the heart is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:17 You know, not the mahi. Sure. And so I hire the space in town. It's called a dojo. Yep. And lots of people use it. Community groups groups other artists theater projects uh go in there and there's a community notice board and this is where i uh
Starting point is 00:01:31 noticed on this noticed board you noticed the notice i noticed the notices on the notice board they were all out of date like it was promoting an event that had already gone. It was last year. It was promoting, I will say, a protest that I support, but it had been and gone. Right. Now, you, again, were paying for a space because you get too distracted at home. Was that why you're doing it at the dojo?
Starting point is 00:01:59 It's actually really difficult to write comedy, Vaughn. Oh, I don't doubt it. Sometimes I like to write a sentence and then i get up and wander around for a bit and see what else i could do to distract myself from the actual work and so when the show is you know needs to be ready it's panic time yeah you know that's what i like to do so i noticed that this notice aboard was all the notices were out of day and this thing was like covered in leaflets and classes and notes and so, blah, blah. So I took it upon myself and I took them all down. And it did feel odd taking down the protest one.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Do you have the authority to be doing that, though? I hold no authority in this place. But I was like, why are we advertising these things? People are advertising shows that have been and gone. I'm no longer interested. Was it stretched for space? No, there was abundance. Right, and what did you do with the notices and you took them down?
Starting point is 00:02:43 Bin. Bin. Bin. Wow. The protest in the bin. Yeah, and what did you do with the notices and you took them down? Bin. Bin. Bin. Wow, the protests in the bin. Yeah, I know. Controversial. When people ask my stance on Gaza, I mean, my actions are spoken.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Yeah. You know, and I also did feel weird to put it in the bin. Yeah. But yeah, I just felt like it was my job. I was like, no one else is going to do this. Anyway, and I also went back. So I've done that. I've done that.
Starting point is 00:03:12 I also went back so i've done that i've done that i also went back uh last week and noticed that the fridge which there's a clear note you know these community areas please take away all food held in the fridge at the end of the day now some people using said dojo have not been doing so right and so again my lunch in the fridge there is a hoft yeah of old food but again you're spending time to clean the fridge and when you you're hiring this very important job that must be done now absolutely you could just say i've paid for the space for four hours well i've lost two and a half of them. Cleaning. To cleaning and organising this space. Yeah, okay. Anything to distract from the actual work. I mean, maybe just work at home next time.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Yeah, it would be easier. Yeah. Or that fridge needs a clean, though. My fridge needs a clean, so I could easily distract myself. Yeah, little tip. It's vanilla extract. You know, what is it? That's what you wipe around, right?
Starting point is 00:04:01 Oh, for the stinkies. Wipe it round. Yeah, wipe it round. With a paper towel. Extract's better than essence, right?s better than essence right Which is the expensive one Essence is bullshit Use that it's cheaper Use the essence
Starting point is 00:04:12 And just you dab it on all the glass shelves And I tell you what your fridge will be smelling lovely What about a peppermint Could I do a peppermint essence I just don't want my fridge to smell like sweets It doesn't smell for very long It's a neutraliser You never buy a spray and wipe and it's like peppermint and lemon
Starting point is 00:04:29 What about pine? I love pine They'll put a coir candle in there With a pine coir candle I don't know if there's the oxygen for a candle to survive in the fridge Which is great because you don't want to burn it down Yeah that's good actually Smart
