From the Zedium podcast network, it's Fletchforn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod.
Welcome to a little bit of pod.
So Fletch and I, Haley, when you went to the bathroom, which is discussing number of...
I'm entitled to a bathroom break.
Hey, we didn't say you weren't.
I could be dealing with feminine issues.
And here you are condemning me for a private moment as a woman.
We were just...
We were chatting about something.
When you were out of the room, I was going to fill you in.
Taking my break that I am in.
entitled to
and I will be taking that every day
heads up yeah it's fine
I've got no issue with that
I'm glad you're going to me
the soapbox I do have a fucking issue
do you know what if we're going to do this
we're fucking go
okay we've learned something
there's a new device
we were talking about number plates
and how the black number plates with the white riding
look cooler than the white number plates of the black rider
because you're getting a ranger
and I said oh my god you're going to ask them for the black
number plate with the white riding
and then we were talking
I thought they were banned
and we were talking about
then there was in New Zealand
there was a while where it was
a black number plate
was silver writing
and those have been
silver's gone
I think it was a reflective issue
yeah
and when the flash went off
on speed cameras
yeah you wouldn't see it
or if it was night
and car lights
and kind of yeah
I'd love brass
because you know how
I love brass fitting
on your mint
vintage car
yeah and it's like black
with just brass
screwed in
no they don't do those
so
We worked out that the new ones are black with white writing.
And I said when we were talking about number plates that are hard to read,
because you know if you ever see a number plate
that's like 0-000-0-0-0-0-0-0.
It's to confuse you, right?
So you can't report it because you can't remember what order it was in.
1-1-I-I-L-1.
I don't know that.
I don't know that.
When you drive straight over them,
they actually don't get a chance to look at the plate.
Yeah, exactly.
Or remember it.
Hit him hard.
I thought maybe their nickname was just, oh-oh.
Oh, zero.
So we're talking about number plates
And I said to Fletch the other day
I was out
And I saw a car with a leaf on the number plate
What do you mean a leaf?
Like a maple leaf
No
No well the New Zealand version of a maple leaf
Like an oak tree's leaf
That's a green leaf
Was it stuck from a tree?
No it was brown because it's like winter
Yeah right
And that's what I thought
Oh there's a leaf stuck on their number plate
How like
So I grabbed it to pull it off
It was a fucking sticker
Made to look like a leaf
That they'd put over their number plate
so that you could not identify,
even if you took a photo,
there'd be deniability.
And this is what I said to more,
and I said, that's kind of stupid
because you would be pulled up by the cops
and then you would be, I'm sure there's some kind of...
But you just say, I did not put that on there.
I have no idea.
No, you could, maybe you could say that,
but they could tick it, there'd be some kind of...
Yeah, the obstruction of plate.
Even if you've got a really dirty plate,
they can, like, well, they'll pull you over
and tell you to clean the plate.
But they can, like, find you
if you've got...
got a plate that makes it look like you're actively trying.
So it's a two, it's a $200 fine.
It's an offense to obscure or render a vehicle's registration plate.
Allegible.
Allegible.
He's just learning to read.
And so that would be 200.
Allegible bachelor.
Allegible bachelor.
So that would be a $200 fine.
And so we're going to talk about this.
And then Shannon pops in with there's a thing online that magnetic and with the remote to
and we were like, what are you talking about?
Has she sent us through this video of this thing you can buy online?
Two videos, you take your number plate off
and behind it you put like a metal
magnet bracket, some kind of
electronic device. Then you mount
your number plate to that
and then you put a leaf on it
and then you're driving in your car
and if you get pulled over by the police
you push a button on a remote in your car
and it disengages the magnet
behind the plate that's being powered.
I guess it gets powered by the light
that usually lights the plate
and the leaf falls off.
It's a very believable leaf.
It's not.
Because that's what I said, the sticker looked like a leaf.
Yeah.
Yeah, you would want to glue an actual leaf.
Yes.
On to the magnet.
I will say, we're not encouraging this at all.
No, no, at all.
Like we've just said, it's a $200 fine.
But you hear about those, there was that guy in America, there was a famous toll bridge,
and he had one of those James Bond.
Oh, a transporter, click.
Yeah, and it would flip the number plate around.
So it would go from the fake one when he went through the toll bridge.
When he got off the toll bridge, flick it around to his actual plate.
Genius, eh?
So naughty
Oh my God
I've got tolls
But you must just be able to buy these on team
It's insane
Don't we don't do a car
And we're not encouraging that
But I mean God
People have thought of literally everything
Yeah I know
God we just want to get away with it all
Actually
No
I think that was a natural out
I feel like that was a natural out
Yeah I was just going to say
You've reopened the investigation
After we pretty much put a cold cold case to be
Well I don't even know if we're going to include this
But Fletch encouraged me to run a red light this morning
No I did it
Carl Peter Fletcher.
Well, no, but I said to Haley, it's only like 4 at 4.46 a.m.
No other cars.
No other cars.
It doesn't count.
So I did.
And now I'm like a criminal and I've been wrapped with...
Which intersection?
Because you know, this one's got a red light camera.
No, no, no, no, no.
None of the, like, more tucked back streets.
Just that little side street.
Don't worry about it.
He was just like, just go.
That's the cyclist in them.
Yes, yeah, that doesn't buy any of those.
And, you know, cyclists don't have number plates.
Doodah.
Do da.
They also don't have...
um earbags or side cushions
all the doodoo da day
