From the ZDM podcast network, it's Fletchforn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod.
Welcome to A Little Bit of POD.
I believe Shannon is trying to join me on the good side of life, the left-handed side.
But why are you, you're naturally right-handed?
Yes.
Why trying to be left-out?
I'll tell you, it's not, it's a burden.
Well, I'm trying to learn both.
Like, I'm not going to try forget right-handed.
And be sexual.
Yeah, that's when you're into both, isn't it?
It's a dextrosexual.
Yeah, yeah.
No, I just want to be stronger in my left hand
So every day I'm doing little tasks
Because I've picked up a new craft
What is it?
It's called half stitch
It's like cross stitch but halfway
So you just do one angle
Yeah, but not cross
It's just dashes
It's just dash dash dash dash dash dash dash dash
Yeah so I've been half stitching
And basically you go in
And then I have figured out
It would be a lot more efficient
If I could left hand out
Right hand in and go like
Kind of moving around
But my left hand is useless man
I'm like Shannon go for that square
And it's like womp
I think
lots of people because I find my right hand
is pretty good because the world's
made for right hand. So as a lefty
I had to adapt. I had to adapt.
And actually overcome some pretty
Yeah. Are you
okay? It was just, you know, we all have
our things. I'm terrible
with my left. Yeah, whereas nothing
is made for left hand so it would be weak.
Yeah, so I've been like trying to practice
writing and stuff. I'm just trying to like teach her
how to go. I try using a knife.
Yeah, well yeah, I'm female.
Yeah. And my hand is.
Yeah, that's weird.
I'm going to say mine, not, yeah, my.
No, I always say her about my body parts.
I'm like, she's sore.
Yeah, me too, actually.
Yeah.
She likes that.
Yeah.
I'll say that.
Yeah, yeah.
She responds well to that.
Yeah.
And so my hand, she's not doing great.
So I'm like trying to learn how to write.
But like Shannon, I go to write my name quite hard.
Like the S into an age is just like too much.
Yeah.
It looks like a five-year-old.
Is it actually possible to learn to be as good as you are?
on the other side.
At this age?
At this age, you're like,
I know people are anti-dexterous, like you guys.
What practice?
Well, Brendan's been trying to take my partner
because with cards,
so I've been learning how to shuffle one-handed
with both hands.
That's hard.
If I saw a chick do that, I think that's very hard.
Oh my God, do you want me to show you?
Yes, yes, yes, come in.
This could confuse me though in the workplace
because we are workmates.
I've got my boyfriend's branded cards on me at all times.
Wait, your magician boyfriend has branded cards,
like the Inter-Ilander.
Of course.
Amazing.
It's all his, his, um,
stuff they signed it he signed it for me
oh my god cute so
so she can make some money off of them
it's lovely how much this
turns her on you know
and that's what matters and that's what matters
it's not about us I'm nervous I'm going to screw it up
but this is a one-handed cut so I go like this
oh I'm going to screw it up we can't see through the computers
can you come in okay can you stand up just stand up
just stand up yeah oh what a great idea
yeah crazy oh this is nerve wracking now
just then when you went to stand up did you have to sit your legs
Come on, girls.
Yeah.
So you cut it in half and then, oh, no, no.
No, you're just under pressure.
I'm under pressure.
Is it hard with nails, though, to do that?
They're short.
My nails.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Dex cart.
Yeah, I can cut it.
That's not going to get you kicked out of a casino, though.
Okay.
All the cards are.
We score that pick up 52.
Yeah, great game.
Great game in my house.
But that's what I mean.
I'm on this journey.
So you're practicing that.
that's your left hand, you're doing that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm better at magic right-handed.
Well, if you want any, I've got some left-handed scissors at home.
Okay.
You could practice cutting with those, but they're fabric scissors,
so you can't be using those on paper.
Well, no, I just bought some new sewing scissors,
and I also bought embroidery scissors.
Are you allowed to use them?
Does mum yell at you if you use them for cutting paper?
I cut it, I found a split end on my hair, and I was like,
is this allowed?
Like, I debated.
It's kind of a fabric, it's a human fabric here, isn't it?
And then I was like, I'm going to do it,
and I did it and I felt guilt.
I was like, shit and they are so exorcist.
That is a grained trauma.
Yeah, was there some kind of class
where mum's had to like learn
how to yellow their kids
for using the good scissors?
Because everyone has this.
Yeah.
Yeah, we all knew it.
Or were they just so expensive
in the 80s and 90s that moms are expensive.
And to get them sharpened is a lot.
Yeah, right.
Oh, yeah.
Dad would probably do that with the knife thing
and bloody wear it down
so the scissors didn't even touch anymore.
Oh, yeah, they're all.
It's probably dad's fault.
Yeah, actually.
He was an aggressive sharpener.
We're blaming dad?
We're blaming dad.
Fuck you, dad.
Jesus.
