Starting point is 00:00:00 Fleshborn and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod Great things are brewing at McCafe The perfect start to every day Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod And I was thinking of your mother born The lovely Christine My lovely mother Because I've been to your parents place many times
Starting point is 00:00:16 On the farm And your mum loves a fridge magnet Loves a fridge magnet Does she? From her travels Yeah whenever they travel somewhere they get a fridge magnet And I kind of like, I didn't like, do we think
Starting point is 00:00:27 it's tanky or do we love it? We, for the first time ever, have our magnetless house now. I think because the kitchen, the new kitchen, I was like, ah. It doesn't fit the aesthetic. I shan't sully it, but it's annoying. Nowhere to put little loose leaves and stuff. Yeah, it's a great
Starting point is 00:00:44 place to put little bits and pieces. Little bits and bobs. I kind of love seeing on someone's fridge where they've been to. Yeah, me too. And it's kind of cool. Yeah. And I think when you've got lots, it looks awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Because your parents have done a lot of Europe, and everywhere they go, they get a magnet. Yeah, they definitely try to. Because there was a news story that I saw the Liverpool University did a survey, and they said that travel mementos are more important to people than photos. And it makes it more easier to recall your holiday, because I guess they're in your kitchen every day. You see them so much, and you're like, oh. Because where are your photos? Like online or in an album?
Starting point is 00:01:24 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so apparently, yeah, they're just better for people when it comes to recalling amazing memories and holidays. Aaron's sister made family magnets. You know, you can get photos printed onto magnets. We had those for a while. Did it look like the family were real estate agents?
Starting point is 00:01:46 Did you ever put a little mini notepad underneath? Oh yeah, that'd be good. No, they were just photos, family photos and stuff. We had those, but I've never had travel ones. I've never really been a collector of travel items, like a key ring or whatever. I did the stickers on my suitcase for a while. Oh yeah, I like that.
Starting point is 00:02:01 And I'd get a stick, but not everywhere does a souvenir sticker, whereas you always get a magnet. Or a key ring. Or a coffee cup yeah i like that stick but not everywhere does a souvenir sticker whereas you always get a magnet or a key ring or a coffee cup or something like that back in the day you used to be able to buy little flags to put on your car aerial around new zealand like a little and it would show where you'd been and then at the end of the road i think you'd take them off and like put them somewhere and then you can still get the like the material flags you can sew onto your backpack Yeah Or jackets Yeah, yeah, yeah Some do irons
Starting point is 00:02:28 Because they were saying that if you were to do this with photos on your fridge You couldn't have 50 photos No, but you could have 50 small magnets But you can have 50 small magnets And yeah, when it comes to the recall and the memories Mine would be like, where have you been recently? Oh my god, Christchurch Oh my god, Christchurch.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Oh my God, I went to Te Puke. Well, yeah, that's the other thing, I guess. Yeah, is you've got to go places to have... Yeah, the fridge has been pretty empty for a bit. My parents don't just have places they've travelled stuck to the fridge. They've also got like birth announcement cards. Like if you send somebody a gift and they're like, arrived on May. But like some of them are like from the year, I think the oldest one they've got on there is a 2006.
Starting point is 00:03:10 So that kid's 18 now. And mum and dad are still just like, beautiful baby. Did your mum ever have that fridge magnet? They were such a New Zealand thing. And it was like Bev's Kitchen. And it was a... No, but both my grandparents had them. Yeah, and it was like some lady, and she had a roller,
Starting point is 00:03:25 and the name was on the roller? Yep. Yes. And the weird part was that person looked like my mum. Oh, okay. Because they had blonde curly hair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Under the...
Starting point is 00:03:34 Rita's kitchen, that was Nana's, and Marlene's kitchen. Yeah. Which is amazing they did a Marlene. Yeah. Because that's... It is an older name, though. Yeah, I guess so, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Well, maybe you could order order them and they printed them. Perhaps that was the secret. Or you'd sometimes just see one that said Nana's Kitchen or Mum's Kitchen. My mum collects small Italian Pinocchios. You know, the ones, the wooden, red jacket, green things with a long nose. No, I didn't know this was a thing. And she's like, lie to me. Is that the
Starting point is 00:04:05 of course it is because the name Pinocchio is Italian is Italian and one moment please we're on fucking
Starting point is 00:04:12 dialogue here apparently that means giant honker in Italian does it giant honker yeah is that why they call you the downstairs Pinocchio
Starting point is 00:04:19 you need a free toothbrush Jared there's free toothbrushes out there that's my toothbrush that I use Hayley we've got to end the I've got packages out there.
Starting point is 00:04:25 We've got to end the podcast. Hang on, hang on. You need to acknowledge the wooden Pinocchios. Oh, I see. Did she get the marionette ones? She's got big ones, small ones, and fridge magnet ones. So she's got like 50 of them. I've got to say, I feel more of Patsy.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yeah, I know. Tacky A. Now, what are these toothbrushes we've just received? Well, there's apparently outside work. There's a toothbrush. Oh, those are the ones that are biodegradable. And I said, I don't actually brush my teeth, and they looked horrified. This is the toothbrush I use.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah, no, that's fantastic. No one gets a free mention around here. It's a fucking two-pack. What do you mean it's a two-pack? Two-pack Shakur. He was murdered in the 90s. This is a two-pack. Well, that's fantastic.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Let's go get a free toothbrush. End podcast now.
