Starting point is 00:00:00 From the ZDEM Podcast Network, it's Fletchfallen and Haley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to a little bit of pod. I had to ring an 0800 number, a free, free dial number. Is it 0,800, even around the world for international? 1,800. What's like the UK one? Because you always know it's 1,800 America, it's... 0,800.
Starting point is 00:00:23 What's Australia? 0508? No, that was another one. That was another free New Zealand number. Yeah. Yeah. One one one one. No, that's police.
Starting point is 00:00:33 The primary UK version of equivalent, O800 number is 0800. Oh, that's it. Oh, 800, oh, oh, wait, oh, wait. What is it in Saudi Arabia? Okay, should I just Google, what, what are the global versions of the NZ? No, I specifically want to know Saudi Arabia.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Free phone, oh 800 number. Did you use to have an 0800 number when you first moved out of home so you could call your parents for free? I know. I know some people set them up. Yeah, they did. Like rich parents would be like, It's okay, Elizabeth, you can call it any time on 0800 Daddy Daddy.
Starting point is 00:01:04 My mother dad worked out it was cheaper for them to set up an 0800 number and us to call them even from mobiles than it would be for them to call us. Yeah, right. I don't know if that was a thing at the time. Whereas now everyone's just got three minutes. Okay, so global free toll formats by region. Australia is 1-800 or 1,300. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:24 The United Kingdom, 080 or 0800? What's Saudi Arabia? I will get to Saudi Arabia If you will hold thine I just feel like we've asked and asked and asked And now we're just giving us information we don't care for 1-800 Is that Saudi Arabia
Starting point is 00:01:38 That's US Canada 1-800-1888-1877 1866 1-18-5-1844 If I don't get Saudi Arabia soon I'm going to flip this fucking table China is 10 Is 10 800 Did I ask for China?
Starting point is 00:01:49 Singapore is 800 Why are they all 800? What is it about 800? Did we globally agree it? Like a UN thing? Yeah. We'll just go 800 is sort of the basis. I've always wondered those sorts of things.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Or did someone start, like America was first? And everyone's like, well, we must have a free. We must have free numbers. Saudi Arabia equivalent of the New Zealand. 0-800. Free phone number is 800. Oh, for fuck sake. We waited all that time and it was quite disappointed.
Starting point is 00:02:15 I'm disappointed. Yeah. I wanted it to be like 665 or something like that. Sorry about that. That's not how it works. So you called an 0800. I had to call, because I'm getting something delivered and had to call.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Well, now I need to know what's getting delivered. A couch. Oh, oh, yeah. Yeah. I love that. And anyway, it was the first time I've ever experienced a, what I would call a lifelike AI human voice. Not like one of those phone lines when you call up and it's like, please tell me what is
Starting point is 00:02:50 your access number. You could give me a few words about what you're calling about today. Are you calling about billing? Say what you're or or they'll be like say what you want and you say it. But this this one was like the next level above that. It was like, Sup bitch. No, it was like, hey, thanks for calling.
Starting point is 00:03:08 What can I do to help you today? What can I do to help you today? But you knew it was a robot. But I knew it was an AI. And then you say, oh, I want to find out when my couch is getting delivered. It's like, oh, okay, just wait there and I'll find out. Hang on. And it was really casual.
Starting point is 00:03:23 But it was a robot. And it was AI, but it was next level. And I fucking hated it. It was so creepy. It was so creepy. I was like, put me through to the store with the human. He's like, okay, I'll put you through right now. And I was like,
Starting point is 00:03:35 piss off, robot lord. Like I could see what they were doing. And but I feel like this is the next level of customer service that we're getting. It's hard because a lot of people. How can we tell the difference? Yeah, it kind of was that. Like if you were, maybe you were a bit deaf or in a loud place, you'd think that the person initially was real.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Yeah. And then the next step is they clone out. voices and start doing this to our parents. Well, did you see that... Yeah, well, exactly. Hi, Mom, can I have some money? Did you see there was that guy who's never done any acting or anything in his life and he's just sold his likeness to AI for like a million dollars?
Starting point is 00:04:12 Have you said this? No. So it was a guy, I'll try and find some information. Man sells likeness to AI for a million. Was he incredibly attractive though? Really attractive. Okay. And really attractive.
Starting point is 00:04:26 and yeah, Carby lame, sold his likeness. Oh, no, no, no, that's that guy who like stares like that. Oh, right, okay. No, there was another guy and he is being used for like video games and interactive things and his voice. And he was like, yeah, you can have this because he doesn't want to be an actor or a voiceover artist or anything like that. So he was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:44 I mean, who wouldn't sell their likeness for a million dollars? Yeah. Would you? No. No. Are you going to make more than a million dollars? Yeah. You hope so.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah, maybe. One joke at a time. Thank you.
