This was because a woman's name or social security number, something like that, had been mislogged, and she had been told she can't get a loan because she's dead. She's dead now.

And she was like, no. Producer Shannon, can you give us some stats about the virality of this? Because this went pretty crazy on TikTok, didn't it? Yeah, I think it's at about 2 million views, and then, yeah, it popped up on Ladbible, and then every iteration of website that was like bro page and like all the versions where the bros go for all that we know like people that you know i think this call was legit because we're pretty good at sniffing out bullshit yeah there was a couple of people that were like dude he was just

straight up lying to get on the radio but just the way he spun the yarn yeah i mean also part of me is like even if it was fake shit it was a good story and then someone called uh and someone said in the in the tiktok comments oh that's my brother but then when i clicked on her brother's profile it clearly was not he was just wanting tiktok views she wasn't a kiwi and then the way she was talking in the comments it didn't line up and yeah. But then I didn't want

to delete her comment because then I didn't want people to be like she's silencing her. We don't silence women these days. No, we don't. So let's just relive

So my sisters were in a bit of a tiff with my parents at the time, and they weren't really getting along. And I was living in Wellington while they were in Christchurch, and my older sister actually called my parents up and told them that I'd died. What? What? They weren't allowed to.

and not telling us, and oh, well, we'll just leave it be. Um, no, they were kind of like just running around calling up all our other family seeing if they had heard anything from what I was told and then they didn't really know anything to go off so my parents kind of just presumed, yeah.

So what, a few days and a few phone calls later your parents are like, ah well. I mean, if somebody said that your friend is dead, you're not going to pick up the phone and call them, are you? You're just going to be like, oh, well. Yeah, they're dead, I guess. No, I'm going to like. Yeah, well, you don't think to call them exactly.

They're dead. No. If someone said to me, Vaughn's dead, I'd be like, oh, my God, I'm devastated. But I wouldn't ring you and be like, hey, brah. Would you not call? I'd be like, ah, I'm calling here. I'd call Sade. Voice on a voice. I'd get drunk and I'd be like, I'll just ring their and be like, hey, bruh. Would you not call? I'd be like, I'm calling here a voice on a voice. I'd get drunk and I'd be like, I'll just ring their voicemail.

Ring, ring. And you're like, hello? And I'm like, ghost tape? Hayley? This is insane. So how did your parents react? Were they really upset when they heard the news? Did they cry? Were they beside themselves? Oh yeah, my mum was absolutely in

tears and my dad was trying to just gobsmacked, eh? He was just like what the fuck's going on? How had they told him that? How were they told you died? Like a car accident? A drowning?
