For a few years in the 1970s, the Mr. Asia syndicate made millions.
Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of plague.
Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down.
Clark would have threatened him. Go and kill him. If you don't, I'm going to kill you and your wife and your son.

You are looking at a hero.
And are we?
I always have been.
Right.
You are looking at a certified motherfucking hero where have you put
your sticky beak into now no well recently i'm flying into melbourne hang on we need music for
this i reckon i need a hero nickelback hero no mariah carey hero When a hero comes along. I think it just adds to the grandeur.
Yeah.
Hero.
Okay, I'll take it.
Don't say another.
Wow, it really wants me to play Chad Kroger.
Yeah, from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.
No.
Which was the belter of a song at the time.
Is this your first time using Spotify, Han?
I don't know.
You don't know how to do it.
Is that playing or has it got the wrong chord in
You might have the wrong chord
Switch chord
There we go
You haven't got a dicky chord
Oh there it is
There it is
See lovely
So we're flying in
I'm glad that we
Wasted all that time
We're north of Melbourne right
Yep
We're flying in
And I've got a window seat
4A in case you're wondering
He's a man of the people
How did they give A jade frequent flight?
How did you get so far up the front?
You should be in 26.
I think it's the fact that work pays for my car membership.
Oh, yeah.
Of course.
Okay, so that gets you in the front rows.
That gets me up.
I get to choose.
So we're flying.
I'm looking out the window because I like to do that when you're flying.
Australia's so big.
And you fly over a bit of land before you get to Melbourne.
Huge amount.
We were in the north and like turned
around and we were going over some bush and I
saw a Chinese warship.
I did make jokes
on the way over that there was Chinese warships
and I sent my daughter some emoji
like putting a little boat and a ninja in it.
And then my daughter said
ninjas are Japanese, not Chinese.
Wow.
I was about to say, did they get that political humour?
We talked about it the day before.
About if Dad gets shot down by a Chinese warship.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dad loves you.
Dad loves you.
Keep up the fight, the resistance.
Yeah.
That kind of thing.
Rise up against.
We're flying over land and in the bush I see a pillar of smoke.
Oh, goodness.
Now, you know it's very hot in Australia and very dry.
And this is bushfire season.
And I said to the, because it was just before, they were like,
Bing Bong, put up your bloody, put up your trays and put away your.
They do say that when they fly to Australia.
Put up your bloody trays.
Put up your bloody trays.
Come on.
And she was scooting up the aisle.
And I said, excuse me, there's, I can see fire in the bush down there.
Did we report that to somebody?
Kind of half joking.
They're just trying to get the cabin ready
for descent and landing.
They don't need you.
Joking.
Being a nosy prick.
But she's like, oh, really?
And kind of like looked and was like, oh, heck.
And I'll tell the, I don't know,
I'll talk to the captain.
Oh my God.
And then she went up.
And a couple of minutes later,
she walked back past and she said
excuse me
I'll just let you know
I have told the captain
and he's told
he's radiated to somebody
oh lovely
and I was like
oh how fascinating
I didn't want to
it was quite short
so quick
and then the next day
when we were driving
out of Melbourne
to where we were going
we were also headed north
and I saw smoke
and I said
I reckon that's the fire
that I saw from the plane
because I told the lads
that we were travelling about it
yeah
and then I opened Google Maps and yeah sure enough it was north and they're like oh yeah there's the fire that I saw from the plane. So I told the lads that we're traveling about it. Yeah.
And then I opened Google Maps and yeah, sure enough, it was north.
And they're like, oh yeah, this is the planes fly around here.
And I was like, oh, I wonder if it is.
And they said, you should look it up on the app.
And so there's this website called emergency.vic.gov.au.
And you can go on there and it's got all like the reported emergencies you should be aware of.
Guess what?
What? The time that that bushfire was reported was the exact same time I was flying over all the reported emergencies you should be aware of. Guess what? What?
The time that that bushfire was reported was the exact same time I was flying over it.
It's you.
It was you.
You're a hero.
He's a hero.
He's a hero.
At time of recording this podcast, still burning.
Jesus Christ, Australia.
Showing the kids when I got home this website and I was like, that's where it was.
Did you get home and say, Dad's a hero?
Dad's a hero.
Gather around. listen, listen.
I hate to interrupt, but the big note's coming.
Here she goes.
And the hero comes along.
Beautiful, beautiful. And the orange bit around the bushfire's got bigger,
and then today it's also got bigger again,
and then the yellow area around it is bigger.
Wait, so you're not a hero
because you haven't
actually stopped the fire.
Well, I didn't put it out
but I kind of told them.
Because I feel like
if we were to speak to a hero
it would be the guy
who stops the fire.
Yeah, like all the
incredible firefighters.
Yeah.
It's like we're bandying
about hero quite a lot.
That'd be nothing
without their spotter.
Spotter in the sky.
I mean, someone would've
spotted it.
Yeah, and I did.
It's gotten bigger.
Well, yeah.
I may have also just kind of been around that same
time where it started and started producing
smoke and other people reported it. Wait, but you
didn't actually report it either. I kind of asked
the pilot too because I didn't have my phone.
So he was just getting further and further away
from actually being helpful in the
situation. Just more annoying, actually.
More annoying. Sort of just
saw something. I saw something and I said something. Actually, yeah, helpful. Sort of just saw something.
I saw something and I said something.
Actually, that's a really important role.
That's a really important role.
It is.
So, yeah, it's still burning.
They probably want to put that out.
