Starting point is 00:00:00 From the Zedium Podcast Network, it's Fletchforn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. People with children in secondary school and primary. To a certain extent, we'll know there's some industrial action happening here in Altearo, New Zealand. Some strikes by the teachers' unions. There is. There are. Unless your children are at private schools.
Starting point is 00:00:23 I've seen it. I've seen these. Yeah, they've been striking. They done it all day. There's hoodlums around the city. Are there hoodlums in the city? School-aged hoodlums. I know.
Starting point is 00:00:33 I made a mistake of going into a mall and I was like, hey! There's hoodlums everywhere. Hoodlums. Hoodlums. You're like, shouldn't you be in school and I'm like, oh no, they're striking. Strike action. And a lot of the teachers did the long weekend last weekend, didn't they? Yeah, they checked the teachers only day, a strike teacher.
Starting point is 00:00:47 On the Tuesday. I mean, that's great planning from a teacher. Really good from the hands off to them on the teachers. Make the best of a bad situation. I did a lunchtime pickup because it was a half-day strike the other day. This is a thing also. They change all the street. Strikes, they're rolling.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Some days it's all of them. Some days it's just a year at a time. Some days it's a half day. They're keeping you on your toes. Parents must hate this, but I'm all for the teachers. Oh, me too. Me too. Me too, me too, me too.
Starting point is 00:01:11 That's what? They're not paid enough to deal with these shitbag kids. That's what? My girls were asking, like, what's the deal with strikes? Because it rules, we're getting time off school. I said, no, it's to like, inconvenience everybody, really. So you're like, just give the teachers what they want,
Starting point is 00:01:26 or you start hating teachers, basically. You fall in one of two. line, isn't it? One of two categories. But I was on lunchtime pick up at a half-day strike and Indy said, can we get Popeye's chicken? I've never had it. Someone else was telling me about Popeyes the other day saying that they've got the best
Starting point is 00:01:41 chips. They do. The chips come heavy. The Cajun seasoning. Oh, I love it. You know everyone went bananas with the chicken salt on the KFC chips. Yeah. Oh, this is Cajun seasoning.
Starting point is 00:01:52 This is next level. Very lovely pre-season chippies. Okay. It's American. Yeah. When did it come to New Zealand? It's been very recent. There's not many of them.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Yeah, there's only a few around. They've only just... They looked at New Zealand and they were like, ah, yes, a small market with multiple ways of getting fried chicken. What we need is another way of get fried chicken. West and South Auckland are always first for the new... Papa Toy Toy Toa Tuckinini. No, I was on the North Shore.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Oh, really? Yeah. Okay. I know. Wow. Tickle me back. Tell me a surprise. Oh yeah, there's one on the shore, one on the shore.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I was giving some other kids from our area a ride home, too. and Indy's like, can we get Popeyes? And I was like, yeah, and we went in and I didn't even think about it. I was like, well, you guys just order on the little machine and I'll just tap my card at the end. Shouting? Wait, there is no.
Starting point is 00:02:39 A carload of kids. Nearly bloody bankrupt to me. You know, I've been, you know, I've been ever done. If I'd been like, can we have Popeyes or takeaways? We're like, no. Absolutely not. You can make a sandwich when you get home. I'm not paying for that.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Ham in the fridge. Yeah, I'm not paying for these kids. No. No. Can I ask what it cost? 65 dollars Yeah Which is wild man
