From the ZDM podcast network, it's Fletchhorn and Haley's Little Bit of Pod.
Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod.
And guys, this could explain everything.
Go on.
More than 100 riders now allege brain injuries from Six Flags Rollercoaster following a CNN investigation.
Oh, which Six Flags roller coaster?
Well, so these complaints, these people apparently say that they've suffered brain injuries from the rollercoaster in the
last two years, and this is the X2, which is the flagship ride at Six Flags in California.
I never been.
Last year, our friends, I went along with our friends James, Zane, Mike and Ryan.
And we're all a little bit like this now.
You've never been the same again.
We've never been the same again.
Okay, I want to see a video of it going, but I've Googled Six Flags Rollercoaster X2,
and it's all just news reports on the brain damage.
Yeah, yeah.
So there is, there was a news conference last Tuesday
announcing the filing of three lawsuits against six flags.
Yikes.
It's their biggest attraction.
It's like people go from around the world.
It drills thrill seekers to this park.
It's a rotating seat ride with near vertical drops and unpredictable movements.
So are they getting dropped so fast, their brains are rattling in their skulls, basically?
And I remember this because it's the.
ride that I think we went on it, we had a fast pass so you can kind of get in there pretty quickly.
I know it must be nice.
If you can afford it, definitely do it because otherwise you're waiting and like, especially
for rides like this for hours.
You have to.
It's incredible.
It was an amazing ride.
Like you just get off it just like, what the fuck?
Because I've been to Knottesbury Farm and I've been to Disneyland, but Nottesbury
Farm is a bit more adult base, but Six Flags is known as like the next step up, eh,
in terms of like thrill-seeking.
It's so good.
You spend the whole day there.
Incredible rides.
So apparently allegations are that the roller coaster has injured riders back more than a decade,
but have largely been kept under wraps until the CNN investigation,
which documented some serious injuries and apparently associated with two deaths.
Oh, God.
Okay, so I've got some stats here.
Tom speed 122 kilometers an hour.
Yep.
When you've got no windscreen in front of you, I imagine it feels more like 200.
Yeah.
It's 1.1 kilometers long.
And reaches a height elevation of 61 metres.
You must be at least 122 centimetres or, what is that, four foot to ride it?
Wait, 61 metres high.
At its highest point, 61 metres off the ground.
Wow.
Oh, I want to go.
Isn't it funny, I read an article like this about how dangerous and thrill-seeking and terrifying it is?
And I'm like, yeah, get me there.
I just love that stuff.
It's so fun.
Was there flame-throwers when you went on it?
Did you get flame?
Did you get flame?
Flames and all. Rings about. The X2 is carefully designed to keep you in total sensory overload the entire ride.
Feel your sense of direction to disappear as you fly through an unreal assortment of dive, slips and twists plus two ultra rare raven turn half-wifts.
Yeah, yeah.
They change their minds midway and become sheer drops.
So, I'm just having a look. What's it called the ride?
The X-2.
The X-2. I'm just looking on YouTube to see if there's a ride simulating.
I was trying to find it, but all I could find was news reports.
It's been open since 2002.
P.OV. Back row.
Described as the world's first fourth dimension roller coaster.
I thought the fourth dimension was time.
Am I on it?
Is this it?
Oh, so you can get a YouTube clump of someone's GoPro.
Are they going backwards?
No, they've pointed the GoPro back, so it's not what you'd see, but they're at the back.
But we're going high as all hell.
Oh, God, yes.
So, is it closed now?
I don't know.
Because of these brain injuries.
Yeah, because of these.
I mean, they obviously don't want lawsuits.
Yeah, three weeks ago, there was something uploaded to America's Coaster Network, which is a YouTube channel.
X2, the final ride of cinematic tribute to tribute, tribute to Sixth Glades Magic Mountains wildest coaster.
So yeah, maybe it has.
Yeah, just while the lawsuits happen.
Nah.
What are you going on for?
Well, I'm okay.
That's right, Carl.
You are.
I did good.
He's done so good.
Giving people brain damage.
I don't know.
Or are these people coming off and being, you know, all kind of damaged and then blaming the ride, but they were damaged all.
You know what I know?
Maybe the damage was the damage all along.
It wasn't about the journey.
It was about the damage that we damaged along the way.
Friendship was the real damage.
Yeah.
