over summer.

Everyone loves a good summer
eating session. That's one of the best
things. Got to figure out if it makes it to the beach.
I also like spring, autumn and winter eating sessions
just to confirm.
There's something about sitting on the beach trying to protect whatever you're eating from the sand
But also sharing it with friends

So food prices, I mean, that's been the topic of conversation for the whole year.
Does any drink make the list?
No, I haven't included drinks in there.
I've got a question.
Booze has definitely increased in price from a man that purchases booze quite often.
And beer, like there's been this year,
like some craft beer outfits have gone under
and they said it's because of the price of carbon dioxide.

Is the price of carbon dioxide going to come down again?
Probably not as much.
So you've got, you're right.
I mean, the issue at the moment is just supply of CO2.
We haven't been making as much food grade stuff
since the refinery shut up in Whangarei
and similar.
But so the issue is almost not the price is the secondary thing.
It's the fact that we just don't have all that much CO2.
So probably not.
The other issue for alcohol is that the excise tax on alcohol goes up each year by the rate
of effectively adjusted inflation.
So when we've got high inflation at the moment, it pushes alcohol prices up even more.
Same with tobacco and similar.
So very much those are in the not pile in terms of cost.
Drinks and darts aren't included.

Steak is slightly down.
It's lamb chops that are winning at the moment.
They're a little bit cheaper than they have been before.

but I might do just a few slices of normal cheese on the side.

And then that Friday when we were hungover at work.

And then we were hungover because we had something on Thursday.

And then it's evolved since.
Recently I saw my daughter get a garlic and cheese naan,
slop a bit of butter chicken sauce in there
Put the nuggets in
And then put pickles on top
Fold it up and eat it like a wrapper of kebabs
See I reckon this could become like the guy on TikTok
That seems to just put food and food and food into each other
It started with a turducken but now it's just everything
The combos, the unusual combos
You simply must.
Whatever's interesting, I thought everything was up.
But it's good that we're getting some...
Downward trending foods.
Slowly downward trending foods, yeah.
There's a few better options out there.
I mean, you've still got to shop around.
And, I mean, life's still expensive as heck.
But, I mean, look, I'm a huge tomato fan, especially in summer.
So to see those prices come back, I'm feeling better about myself.
We had a terrible summer.
And even spring growing season last year was awful.
So, yeah, it's definitely been a better start this year.
