Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod.
I've been extremely privileged in having had my father-in-law at my house.
Oh, lovely.
Bless him.
Your eye's doing something funny.
I think it started happening when I lie.
He has been there though. He has been there. But of course, he needs to be dropped off home. Your eye's doing something funny. I think it started happening when I lie.
He has been there, though.
He has been there.
But, of course, he needed to be dropped off home.
Yep.
Incapable of transporting himself.
And story for another time.
And, yeah, my wife went out and dropped him off.
And when she went out to drop him off and before she got back,
we had a grocery delivery. She came home and in her absence,
in the time she dropped them off and came home,
Soupy had dropped off our order.
Now, this is the online supermarket that does the stuff
Hayley put us onto these guys.
I did.
Yeah.
You just find some things like so much cheaper
and you're like, huh, wild.
So you can shop around and get it all dropped off,
fruit and veg, pretty good quality stuff.
Big, big, big apples, big apples, big Pacific Rose apples.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Yeah, they don't stiff your way dealing you because you can't complain.
If you go to the big supermarket and do the click and collect, you can't complain about the size of the apples.
But these guys haven't stiffed us on the size of an apple.
Do they do deodorant and like because, you know, all your smellies and stuff, do they do that too?
Yeah, they do it all.
They do it all.
They also do booze.
They also do spirits. Oh. Now. This is why they do it all they also do booze they also do spirits
oh
now
this is why she likes it
this is why
I'm a Mongolian
get a little whiskey
and your apples
and away you go
so they just popped it
over the gate
and then when
Sade came home
she opened the gate
and the
with a remote
god this is a real
first world
are you listening to this
and she
so she got her
electric gate
and she was driving up
to it and
probably what I
imagine is quite
a nice car
and then she
opened that
yeah
we actually
took your
fiancee in
our car on
the weekend
and he said
this is a
nice car
did he
it's a Santa
Fe
nothing flash
yeah
but he said
this is a
nice car
don't put ideas
in his head
yeah
what's a nice
family car
for all of
your children
no what the
you mean for all of the wine boxes.
Don't water that seed.
For the wine.
There is a seed there.
Don't water it.
So she opens the gate and just drives in and doesn't look down.
This is the thing about these SUVs is that you don't have a great field of vision below you.
Too high up.
Yeah, and she just hits the little bar in the gateway
and just perfectly plops the car on top of the box of soupies and then drives all the way up the driveway.
Oh, my God.
That's so good.
And then she's like, when it hit the driveway, it's got the grass thing in the middle and a concrete track on each side.
So it was just perfectly on the grass.
So it's just like.
Was it in front of the tire being shunted?
It was right in front of the car.
The front bumper had just kind of like plopped on top of the box.
So it held it down and then pushed it through the grass.
And then she said when it got to the concrete at the other end where there's a concrete pad, it went.
She knew something was wrong.
And so she kept driving because of course what?
That's what women do.
And she parked the car and then got out and looked and was like,
oh, there's the soupy box.
Now, what was the damage like?
Nothing.
Oh.
Their packaging is second to none.
The box was heavily taped up.
The box was a little worse for wear, but the stuff inside it,
perfectly fine.
Oh, my God, that's so lucky.
She could have literally run over it with the tire.
She could have destroyed a week's worth of groceries
and we would have been having mashed potatoes all week.
Do you know what's great about one of the things Soupy does is
at the end of the week you can put the boxes back out
when they drop off your next week and they'll take them and reuse them.
Imagine dropping off this box.
This absolutely buggered box.
Thank you, Soupy, you can take that and reuse it.
But it's just like standard boxes taped to within an inch of their original being.
Lucky, good, yeah, lucky.
Yeah, so our food survives to be eaten another day.
