Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Fletchbourne and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Treat yourself to McCafe coffee with MyMackersRewards. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. What up? It's recycling day. Do you know, Al, we did that thing where recycling day was two weeks ago. Yeah. And then almost immediately after it was emptied, we filled it.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Do you know what I mean? And then we had to go almost like 10 days-ish. With a full bin. Before it could be emptied. So we had a full bin. And then our recycling bins inside were full. And I had a box inside that was full. And I just wanted to get rid of it.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I don't want trash in the house. So yesterday I took the bins out. And I was having a little look around the road. And I was like, I wonder. And so I was trying to trash in the house. So yes, they took the bins out and I was having a little look around the road and I was like, I wonder. And so I was trying to be all sneaky, sneaky. And I started looking at my neighbor's bins and they had space. So I went inside and I started sort of depositing different bits of recycling in my three neighbor's bins.
Starting point is 00:01:00 It's an age old tradition. Yeah, I know. And I was like, you've got the space. Yeah, they would have popped some in yours. Yeah, previous. Yeah, well And I was like You've got the space Yeah they would have Popped some in yours Yeah previous Yeah top Well there's never Any space in ours
Starting point is 00:01:09 Also For some reason It's always full of wine bottles It's always chock-a-blocker Yeah Also Psst Downstairs at work
Starting point is 00:01:15 Oh really Yeah I know But I couldn't be bothered Like pulling into level one You know And doing that thing Yeah or you've got to Like walk
Starting point is 00:01:23 Through To the level With the rubbish thing on it i feel like one day they're gonna invoice you too for all of that vaughn i feel like you're i'd like to see you pushing that one well because i've got quite a bit of rubbish rubbish on the property but not enough to get a skip i was thinking of bagging that up and bringing it to work but by that sure just bring it in a little bit by a, Shawshank it. Eskistos, your pink bats. Shawshank it, just bring it in little bit by little bit by little bit. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Just drip feeding it. Because some people get upset when people add to their rubbish bins but I don't see a problem with it. I don't give a fying fart. It's out on the street,
Starting point is 00:01:55 it's about to be collected, who cares, it's all going to the same place. You'd hate it if they came in and they dropped their rubbish
Starting point is 00:01:59 into your recycling. Or I did notice though, one of our neighbours is still putting his soft plastics in there. Oh, that's in the soft plastics bin. And now I'm like, do I go knock on the door
Starting point is 00:02:08 and be like, hey hon, just letting you know I just borrowed a little bit of space in your recycling bin for my wine bottles. While I was in there
Starting point is 00:02:15 I did notice you're sort of recycling some things that aren't recyclable. Because people still put the pizza boxes in and that's a no-no. No, you can't do that.
Starting point is 00:02:22 No pizza boxes. You burn them. No glossy papers. You burn them. You burn them. The extra grease in the box is a no-no. Oh, you can't do that. No pizza boxes. You burn them. No glossy papers. You burn them. You burn them. The extra grease in the box is a great little fire starter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:29 But not your soft plastics. I'm talking your wrappers. Oh, the glad wrap. Yeah. Oh, like bread bags and stuff. Yeah, that kind of shit. Oh, real soft plastics.
Starting point is 00:02:37 It's good for him that he thinks he's recycling but he's not. Well, that's all that we're really doing it for. It's just to feel good, aren't we? Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:02:44 It's all being shipped to China There's two times we can process here Did you see the world's largest landfill in Indonesia Caught fire this week What? No I was like well it's going to Get rid of it Dude the smoke was the weirdest colour
Starting point is 00:03:01 And all the people around it were like Oh stay you don't go outside anymore. Oh my god really? And firefighters were fighting it and they're like, all we're doing is spraying water on it and it's just now all the stuff that's burnt off is just running into the waterways Like it was literally like there was no answer to putting this fire out that wasn't a disaster in its own
Starting point is 00:03:17 way. Yeah. Oh no. Because it was like, it's one of the world's largest landfills I was like, we'll see. And you know on documentaries when they zoom out of the desert, you're like, it goes forever. It was like that it's one of the world's largest landfills. I was like, we'll see. And you know on documentaries when they zoom out of the desert, it goes forever. It was like that. Hills and hills. There's diggers up this hill,
Starting point is 00:03:32 and all they're doing is digging to pass the junk to the next digger because they're trying to make the hill at the top taller to make sure it doesn't sprawl too much. You should look up. I'm looking it up. Are you seeing the fire? No. Yeah, yeah. You should look up I'm looking it up Are you seeing the fire? No Fire Oh yeah that's on fire
Starting point is 00:03:50 Yeah that's on fire That is straight a blaze Right And Sam what would happen if Will just burned her own pizza boxes Spread it out a bit More mini fires Rather than one big fire You bet
Starting point is 00:04:03 Fantastic Great positive note When I was watching that mini fires yeah rather than one big fire rather than one big one okay you be fantastic great positive note yeah to end that podcast when i was watching that um literal trash fire yeah i was like we've we've really fucked it yeah are you just coming to this realization now that we've you know you know it is but every now and then you'll see a skinny, drowning polar bear. That's a real visual cue of we fucked it. Just the sheer volume of rubbish alone. That was a pretty good sign we fucked it. Deforestation. Pretty good sign we fucked it there.
Starting point is 00:04:38 White coral reefs. Fucked it. But then every now and then you see a nice one. When they do a time lapse of a very quick clean out of a river that's all just like that's lovely that's good and then they just send it to that giant landfill for more things to catch on fire we fucked it again we fucked it great
