From the ZDM podcast network, it's Fletchfallen and Haley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. And Haley saw this. I had a bit of a fly, like a mini, what do you call the mini fly? Infestation. Like a, like smaller than fruit flies. Midgis. Midgis.

I don't know. What were they eating? I don't know what happened if I left the window open or it was insane. I reckon it might have been some fruit from the supermarket, maybe that I left on the bench. We got back to Fletcher's. And we're just sort of noticing little midges around the eyes. Like everywhere. And then you looked covering the walls.

Did it remind you when you were a kid in summer and you're on your bike going real fast out of hill and then just like, they were everywhere. Eyes and mouthful of mitches. On the surfaces on the walls everywhere. It was crazy. And I was like, okay, well, what are these? Non-biting midges.

The adults don't feed it all. They only live for a few days to make. The larvae live in water or damp soil and eat algae and microorganisms. Biting midgis like. Dan flies, feed on blood from humans because they need the protein to make eggs. The males feed on nectar and plant juices. Only the females are bloodsuckers there. Yeah.

So I was like, is there some fruit left over anywhere? Is it like because, you know, a lot of plants? I've had this before when you get like a new bag of potting mix. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sometimes that happens. They're fungus gnats. Yeah, I don't know, maybe. Fungus nats buzz around indoor pot plants because they like the fungus, the tiny micro fungus that lives there.

If they're biting you, they're biting midgettes. If they're swarming harmlessly over water, they're non-biting midges. Well, I was like, fuck. I'm going to get to the supermarket. and get some fly spray. Man, it's hard to pick a fly spray, eh? How do you choose? Like, I was standing there, and I was like,

there were like maybe 10 different varieties of insect genocidal sprays. I always choose the green wings that makes me think that I am being slightly better. But I saw the green one and I was like, to me, I want the chemicals. I want everything dead. If we're fly spraying, we're fly spray it. I'm not being safe here. I'm absolutely, everything is dying. And then there's like, faster acting.

And it's like, well, what's the point of that? I want all the fly sprays to be faster acting. How much faster can it be? And then it's like how many bugs. They're pretty fucking rapid. And then some of them are just like, we just do flies and big flies. And other ones are like, we do flies and we do insects. We do crawling insects.

We do some of running. And then I'm like, well, do I want the one that does crawling insects because if they're big insects and they die from this spray, little bugs will really die. Yeah. Some would say the same about us in a nuclear apocalypse. If it kills the big ones, it'll kill the little ones. But they say the cockroach will survive. Yeah, that's a good point

I killed a cockroach yesterday I did it with my bare hands Boom, fist on the wall I always get a tissue Yeah, I just didn't have time He was a scatter around I just went Man, punched it to death

I literally punched that fucker to death So I got the spray Just settled on a couple of bottles And I can't remember the brand But it had a really cool nozzle I think that's why I went for it It had cool nozzle Wait it's not the double spray nozzle

Yeah, I think so Fuck man You go through those cans so quickly Be careful Just a little squirt I know, I know, but I, I sprayed all the potting mix in my plants. I sprayed the leaves.

What did the plants? I sprayed everywhere. I, everything is dead. So it's great. It's great. Everything is dead. Everything in the house is dead. He is Russia.

He is Russia in World War II retreating to Stalin grade and just fucking torture and everything. Kainley and I got back to the apartment, you get to pick up some stuff. Yeah. And we were like, oh, no flies. No magis. No magis. Really. I don't know how they all that.

But major Murray was. dead. Major Murray's he's on his ventilator. He's on a ventilator. I see you have returned. He's like

all that pipe that Timothy Shalame wears up his schnooser in the Dune movies. Yes. Just so he can breathe because he's locked in this fucking inner city apartment

and we're just gassing the place.
