And I think we've got a potential new cat alert. Somebody's got a new cat. Oh my god, I want a new cat. I want five cats. But I've got the perfect cat and I'm not allowed any more.

Are you only allowed one? Well no, Rolly dictates we're only allowed one. But I would have three. You would have three? But now that he's been around for eight years as a solo cat, I'm not going to ruin his life. He's my number one boy. So if you were ever in the position of not having a cat, R.I.P.,

you would get three. Yeah. I could imagine. I could see that. I need to ask you a question as a parent because I question this. The love I feel for my cat, Rolly, is so intense and so massive. I can't ever imagine a second cat coming along and even absorbing a slice of that. Or I'd be worried I would love Rolly less and now be obsessed with the new cat because the cat's a kitten and kittens are cute.

When the first one comes along Yeah This should more be a question For someone that's got six kids because by the time the fifth and the sixth come, they're like, I can't be fucked with any of them.

Or they love the sixth best because the first is kind of... Obviously, they're welcome by now. Yeah, yeah. They smell, they're a teenager. Yeah, yeah. They're a bit yuck. They're a bit yuck.

Anyway, I'm not getting a new cat. No, producer Jared has stumbled across a cat and he wants it. I don't want it. The middy wants it. The middy wants it so bad. Is it feral? Yeah, it's a strata. Oh, no. There's a difference. You've got to get the ones that have been found young and wormed and everything. Yeah, like I found mine from a... Even before it was born. Straight from the clacker.

Yeah, and rescued it. Yeah. Where are you finding this cat? How do you know it's not someone's cat? I don't. I've started going on a daily walk. Oh. Yeah.

Well, how far is your daily walk? What do you do? I don't know the distance. You're going to the dairy for a red bull and some cigarettes? I don't know the distance, but it takes me about an hour. Oh, okay. That's good. That's a good walk.

That's a lovely walk. Yeah. And the other day when I was walking down the pathway, I heard a little kerfuffle in the bush next to me. And I looked and there's this little black kitten. And I was like, oh, yeah, you're pretty cute. And I like bent down and gave a little scritch on the head. And then it just followed me for like five minutes.

No cats do that. It's yours now. I thought, yeah, shit, I've just adopted a cat. I was drafting a message to the midi being like, hey, we might have a cat. Can you get some cat food? What do I do? And then it had run back into the bush. You should never have told her that

that cat was there. Yeah, that was probably my second mistake. You're a mistake. Take it to a cat rescue. No cats do this. They follow you. I've got a photo of a cat on my phone. Its name was Van, and it fell in love with us, and we fell in love with it, and I considered taking it. But I knew its name was Van because it had a collar with its name on it. Oh, yeah, but this does look like it's a stray.

Yeah, no collar. It looks a bit scruffy and dirty. Still cute, though. And, yeah, I told the middie, and she said, Oh, well, obviously we need to get some cat food for the next time we go on this walk. We literally talked about this on the big pod today, didn't we? The mysterious crush it cat feeder. You're the mysterious Auckland Park feeder.

No, no, no. We haven't fed it. Okay. But if we do see it, we've got a little tin of like jelly meat or something. Oh my God. Are you going on your walk with a tin of jelly meat? I've got a little tin of cat food in my pocket now. But does it look too thin?

It looks pretty skinny. Okay. And it's, yeah. Is this by it look too thin? It looks pretty skinny. Okay. And it's, yeah. Is this by someone's house though? Because it could just be jumping. It's like in the middle of like three or four fields in this like bushy section. Oh, okay. Yeah.

It's real cute and I do feel bad, but I also don't want a cat because I'm allergic. But if I see it again, I'll probably buy it. Yeah. I reckon it's just someone's kitten that's gotten out. Yeah. And you definitely shouldn't just take it But there's a lot of beautiful native birds In that area

You don't want to kill it you're saying No Re-home it so it doesn't eat the birds Like even if I don't keep the cat I'm definitely picking it up and taking it to Okay The vet The SPCA

Well you should take it to the vet And see if it's got a chip If you really want it Is that free though? Uh No You have to pay for an appointment You have to pay

And also I'm pretty sure We ran a news story today Or yesterday Saying the SPCA have like So many cats at the moment Like it's out of control I'd be so pissed off If someone took my cat to the vet

To see if they could keep it I believe they were calling The upcoming kitten season A horror Or a horrendous Like they're not just saying it's gonna be bad like catmageddon catmageddon catmageddon yeah yeah maybe i should get this it's an apostol it's a I was going for apocalypse. Apuselips. I don't know. Apuscopelips. I couldn't imagine our newsreader Sam saying the SPCA are calling the upcoming summer Apuselips. Yeah, right. No.

Well, if you can, if you can, if you do want to care, SPCA have so many at the moment. Help them out.
