Starting point is 00:00:00 For a few years, in the 1970s, the Mr Asia syndicate made millions. Heroin creates its own market. It acts like a form of play. Until jealousy, betrayal and murder brought it all crashing down. Then he just pulled out a gun, shot her in the back of the head, and then said to Wayne, you're going to help me bury her. This is Mr Asia, A Forgotten History. All episodes now available on iHeartRadio, Apple, Spotify,
Starting point is 00:00:27 or wherever you get your podcasts. From the Zedium Podcast Network, it's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley's Little Bit of Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod. Do you know what I loved about shrinking season two on Apple TV? I love that show, yeah. Isn't it great? It's so good. I just set it up yeah. Isn't it great? So good.
Starting point is 00:00:45 So to set it up, it's the story of a psychiatrist whose wife dies and who is Jason Seagal. Jason Seagal. Harrison Ford's like his work mentor. He's got a teenage daughter. He's going through all the lost thing. Who's the other psychiatrist? Jessica Williams? Yeah, Jessica Williams.
Starting point is 00:01:01 She's amazing. God, she's great. So good. Brilliant show. Written and created by one of the guys out of Ted Lasso. What's his face? Roy Kent. Roy Kent.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Roy Kent. The guy that plays Roy Kent. And the guy that made like Scrubs. Yeah, Bill Laurie. Yeah. Is that his name? Bill Lawrence. Bill Lawrence.
Starting point is 00:01:18 And his wife's in it. The one with all the plastic surgery that doesn't have a lot of expression. Yeah. She's great. Season two. just finished it loved it and there was you know there was that uh the scenes at the train station where they guess what the people's backstories yeah i love that i do that all the time yes so do i yeah all the time do you ever do it with a car and you'll just be like driving along and you a car will pass by and
Starting point is 00:01:40 my brain goes they've had a whole life yep that i'm not even aware of and then like i'm living and we've driven past each other before how close have i ever been to that person with them yeah and they're just like they're the main character in their life but in your life they've just as like not even a player yeah they're just background extra that'd be cgi'd nowadays just to get prices down but i saw there was a couple at the beach the other day when i was with my friends and we were like, are they like on a date? And then we were like, I love this. Or are they friends?
Starting point is 00:02:08 But then, okay, so I had one the other day that I still think about. So I was at the pool swimming and these guys, The boy loves water. Loves water.
Starting point is 00:02:18 He loves water. Loves being in water. Well, I can't swim a lot because of my shoulder. So little amounts of swimming. He has the little flutter board. I've got the little floaty rings on my arms and i just float there good but so these
Starting point is 00:02:29 guys turned up just when i was leaving there were like six of them yeah they all come in and then like they take their clothes off they put the bags down they're all wearing like garmin sports like outdoor like flash as fuck watches. But they don't look like a sports team. Okay. But then they don't look like friends. How many? And they didn't look like they were there for swim training.
Starting point is 00:02:55 They were there to train and they all jumped in and just started doing lengths. We've got some fit boys on our hands. But they didn't look like swim trainers because they didn't look like they swam all the time. And they weren't in hard out swim gear. Very unusual. And then I was like, what are they like, some kind of army group? Oh yeah, trainers. But then I was like, they weren't like,
Starting point is 00:03:13 but I know that because I've heard of Navy SEALs talk about this before that it's not, they're not always like super ripped. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Like Navy SEALs, yeah, it's not always the sports athletic guys that get through because they can't handle it yeah yeah but i was like they didn't like look like hard out like you know what it sounds to me like you spend a lot of time looking
Starting point is 00:03:34 over at these boys i just feel like no i just felt like you're really staring so many questions you get caught up the watches i was like oh my god are these like an elite like navy seals i would have had to ask them i i was so close and then there was one guy who was watching them do it and i was like is he like their leader yeah or their coach yeah they're in yeah who's watching their style or something it was weird i was just like but then maybe they were just like i don't know like um i don't know a team of golfers who just like get fit for the day get fit i don't know, a team of golfers. Who just, like, get fit for the day. Who get fit, I don't know. By swimming.
Starting point is 00:04:05 But then why would you have, like, hard-out outdoor watches? Because maybe you just keep them on because garments, they do wear, the golfers, they do wear the garments. But I reckon they were a late team of military, like, what do you call them? Renegades. Why don't you fucking message me? Oh, mercenaries.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Mercenaries. I reckon that was what I settled on. They were a team of mercenaries. Guns for hire, if you will. Guns for hire, yeah. I mean, if I had been there, which I really wish you had messaged me, I just would have asked and been like, what are you guys up to? What's going on here?
Starting point is 00:04:34 What's your response to that? I know, but then I was like, what if they kill me because I've like... They're like, we can't tell you, now you've asked. Yeah, now you've asked. Just keep your nose out of our... Secret service. Yeah. Yeah, maybe they were like some kind of secret police group training.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Do you reckon anyone's ever looked at you and wondered what you were and like what you were doing? Like your story. Yeah. Like just because I'm... You're there. Like loafing around and I've got like no job. Yeah, no job. Like why is he here all the time?
Starting point is 00:05:01 When we're out of work and I'm like, there's all these other people. I'm like, shouldn't you all be at work? work yeah because i've been at the gym every day i'm like it's 10 o'clock and there's so many people here i'm like what do you have a job you see the same people and then sometimes we'll get 11 or we'll go at 12 you see the same people you're like get a fucking job but then i'm like well i'm here and they must think that about you yeah you have a job get a job i'm like no it's an odd job i know yeah and it is weird today i'm going to look at someone with immense curiosity i'm going to put together a story i love doing this i love it yeah
