I've received some terrifying messages in my time, but the one I got yesterday was I had a panic. I don't know if you're aware, but there's a bit of a measles situation happening. Yeah, look, this is, and it's preventable, isn't it? It is if you get vaccinated. It's been preventable since I was a child and I'm 43 years old. I got the measles mumps in.

Rubella. MMR. Yeah. I remember mum digging out the plunket book. Was it started this year or last year when this all kind of kicked off? Yeah, okay, okay, because I got a mess. I've got a new doctor, but they've got all my records. And I know they do because I can log into the online thing and see, you know, vaccinations from when I was a kid and whatnot, an old, old, old old, old stuff.

Mine don't have any of that because I'm guessing that I just left my family doctor when I was like. No, I think it's on your, when you log onto your portal. Yeah, there's vaccination. I did look at that, but it doesn't have anything. I'm so old. They didn't upload the slabs. They didn't upload and I'd probably move practices to what's the point, you know. So, yeah, I got this message yesterday, Kiyoara Healy, Māori for High Haley.

There's a measles outbreak in Auckland and we don't have a record of you having your two MMR vaccines. And there was a long message, like if you didn't do-d-d-d-d-d-d-do-do. Book-in, book-in, book-in, quick-in. quickly quickly now and I had an absolute panic and it's so funny that at the age of 36 I still have to ring my mummy be like ma'am me me me well I did that too because I couldn't find any record but I knew it would have happened you well I come from a heavily vaccinated family but I was like shit what if we just missed this one or like you know Patsy and Craig went through a period of hippie dippy ditty when I was getting m-m-r and that's the thing people that did

miss out on it were kind of protected from herd immunity but now there's so many people without. But how did I get something so many years ago and it's still in me? Yeah, that's wild. Because my blood has renewed itself. My skin is renewed itself. It teaches your body. Because what is that your sickness that wipes some of the vaccinations? Measles. Is it? It resets your immune system. Yes. And so you'd have to get all your vaccinations again. Is that correct? Yeah. If you get measles reset your immune. There's something like that. I don't know. Yeah, yeah, there is one. There's one that negates.

Measles causes immune amnesia, which essentially resets the immune system by erasing its memory of past infections, making a person vulnerable to other diseases. The measles virus attacks and kills immune memory cells, forcing their body to relearn how to fight previous infections, which can leave your compromise for years. Which is wild.

As your body re-learns it. So, yeah, if you get it, there's far-reaching consequences. And if you're a fuckwit who is like, oh, we had measles parties when her kids. we didn't we had chicken box parties and even that was crazy measles has long been a really really dangerous disease it's super dangerous it kills people well i just would like to come out of this by making it very crystal clear that my mom was like yes you done that she has she still got your plunket book yeah she still got the plunker book somewhere well maybe you've got
