Starting point is 00:00:00 The ZM Podcast Network. Play ZM's Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley. Hello, welcome to Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley's Overtime Podcast. It's thanks to McCafe. Treat yourself to McCafe coffee by redeeming your MyMackers rewards. There is a new invention and it was floated to you, but you just recently got a new one of these. Well, I had to buy a new kettle because I would be on the couch watching something
Starting point is 00:00:29 and then I'd just hear my kettle go beep, which had just turned itself on. And I'm like, but I'm not there. And most people, like irrational people, might be like, oh my God, I've got a ghost. But I just think my kettle was short-circuiting. Something was electronically wrong with it. Yeah, I reckon some water got into it. But in all fairness, did you look into ghosts? I did.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Because there might have been an old lady, because old ladies die and they love a cuppa. So she might have been popping back in to turn the jug on for a cuppa. Oh, my God. So I'm going to get my house exercised. Exercised. I've got some sage in the garden. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I'll dry it out, bring it around, we'll have a smoky. Well, there is now an Alexa powered kettle that boils when you ask it to. I dig this. But I always,
Starting point is 00:01:15 I always leave the kettle with water in it. I'll always pop some more water in if I use the last of the water, but some people don't. But if it's smart enough to turn itself on, it would always be smart enough to know it's got no water. It wouldn't. Yeah. It might not work if the water on, it would always be smart enough to know it's got no water. It wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Yeah, it might not work if the water levels. It wouldn't burn out. Below minimum. Yeah. But Alexa, pop the kettle on. Shit, yes. That is good from the couch. Alexa, turn the shower on when I'm getting ready
Starting point is 00:01:37 because then when you get in, it's already at the right temperature. What other appliance? Like, could you have an Alexa microwave? Again, you wouldn't want it stuck. Alexa, 30 seconds on the microwave. Yeah, but what if nothing's in there? Oh, yeah, because you have an Alexa microwave? Again, you wouldn't want it stuck. Alexa, 30 seconds on the microwave. Yeah, but what if nothing's in there? But you would, oh, yeah, because you'd put things in the microwave. You know how sometimes Alexa goes off, especially during Schitt's Creek,
Starting point is 00:01:52 because of the character Alexa? Yeah. Like, you don't want that, you know, Alexa, microwave, and then all of a sudden it's microwaving. True. Nothing in it. But, yeah, if you were standing and you put the thing in, you kind of push the time.
Starting point is 00:02:03 It's as easy as putting it in and then saying Alexa turn on the microwave Alexa preheat the oven That's a good one Alexa shave my pubes With the electronic shaver Alexa trim my pubes It's like a robot lawnmower for your pubes
Starting point is 00:02:20 Starts buzzing around No no I'll do that myself I don't need help with that. Are you sure? What about, because I know they've got the Alexa door locks as you walk out of your house or Alexa lock the door in 30 seconds when you're all leaving and you're going, it locks. But then, see that to me, what if there's a power cut? Do you have to have a backup battery?
Starting point is 00:02:40 Oh, no, there's a manual way of getting in. Right. There's always a manual way. Because that'd be me, lose my keys or phone, get home drunk. Yeah. Go Alexa. Yeah, because you say it into your phone or your watch. Yeah, to do it.
Starting point is 00:02:51 That's pretty cool. Okay. But the kettle's good. Toaster, you're already there. You've put the toast in it. So you could probably just push that down yourself. Yeah. Fridge, something to do with the fridge.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Fridge. We already say Alexa, turn the TV on. Oh, yeah, that's good. Smart TV, that works out like that. What other appliances are there? Alexa, show me the last five photos my partner liked on Instagram. That's trouble in the making, that one right there. Alexa, using the algorithm, load me up my favorite
Starting point is 00:03:25 adult videos. Five, incognito mode tabs. In ranked order. Five to one. And just go to the spikes. Yes, go to the spikes, go to the peaks, and pull the
Starting point is 00:03:41 curtains at the same time. Oh, you do the curtains because some people have electronic curtains. I've seen the Alexa curtains. They definitely exist peaks, and pull the curtains at the same time. Oh, you do the curtains, because some people have electronic curtains. I've seen the Alexa curtains. They definitely exist. Alexa, shut the curtains. Oh, those are cool. And shut down the curtains. Those are so cool.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Because they're blackout, because you have to put the rails down the side and at the bottom, and then once it's sealed, oh, it's good stuff for people that don't like light. So Jared said, Alexa, what's in the fridge? You can get those fridges now that have got a camera on the inside so you, from your phone, can check in on the fridge. And then AI kind of scans it and it's like, you're out of jam. Yeah. You've got a centimeter of jam.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I think it just shows you the photo. Oh, does it? I thought it was like you've got a centimeter of jam. I mean, it definitely could. Yeah. You've got a centimeter of jam as I think computers are well beyond being able to scan. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Totally. Well, if you enjoyed that, give us a rating and review and be sure to tell your mates. You know what? I reckon your script reading is getting better. Thank you. I give it five stars. Yeah. Just like I'd give this podcast.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I'm telling my friends about your script reading too. Thank you. Much like I'm going to do about this podcast. Thank you, Vaughan and Hayley for that. Good boy.
