Hello, welcome to the, what do we call it?

Brought to you by McCafe.

$4, delicious.
Drive through and get a cup of barista made McCafe coffee on the go.
Your job is so easy
and yet he can't remember
that we call it
the Fletch, Fulham, Haley
Overtime Podcast.
No, I ask every week
because I can't remember.
And I also ask
what that thing we do
on the Saturday
is the
Bottomless Brunch.
The Bubbly Bums.
The Bubbly Bums.
Sometimes on a Saturday morning
it is a little bit Bubbly Bums.
Depends on Friday, doesn't it?
We've got a little bubbly bottom.
I had one of those moments this week
sitting with my wife.
Which, by the way,
there's no way to say my wife
without it automatically sounding like my wife.
And when you say my wife,
I think of her, I think,
very nice.
Very nice.
So we were sitting in the afternoon.
Yeah.
It must have been about two. Okay. Because the children weren't home from school. Mid-afternoon, you'd say. Mid-afternoon, we were having in the afternoon It must have been about 2
Because the children weren't home from school
Mid-afternoon we were having a coffee
And it was unusual because we were sitting at the kitchen
We were sitting at the dining table having it
Usually we'll sit in the lounge or outside or something
But the weather was nice, the door was open
And we were sitting at the table
I love that
Must be nice to have a table
I'm not here to rub my table in your face
But I've got one.
And it's a big, big wooden one.
Anyway, we're sitting at the table enjoying a coffee.
And then we were talking and then all of a sudden it went just quiet.
And we sat there in like quiet, not awkward silence,
but she was thinking about something.
I was thinking about something else.
Run out of shit to talk about, have you?
Just maybe we'd run it out.
That's nearly 13 years in.
I've married nearly 19 years together.
Yeah.
And I went, oh, well, thanks for that.
And I stood up.
Thanks for that.
Thanks for that.
Meeting the coffee because she made the coffee.
Oh, right.
Okay, yeah.
She made the coffee.
Thanks for that.
And I put it in the sink.
And as I walked away, she said, what are you off to do?
And at that moment moment I was like
holy shit I am my
grandparents that happened
all the time if we're staying at my grandparents
then my gangie as we called them
would come in for a cup of tea
and they'd sit there and they'd talk and do what's been
happening and da da da da da and then it would just go quiet
and you could tell they were all just think everybody was in their
own heads just thinking and it was quiet
and I like that.
I like when you can sit around people and actually just be quietness on an
awkward side.
Not on your phones though.
No,
no phones.
Neither of us wrote our phones and neither were them back in the day.
And then,
and then my granddad would kind of snap to it and be like,
shit,
I better get in there and take one big slurp of his tea to finish it.
And then put on the thing.
Thanks for that.
Going out the ranch slider,
open them up.
And Nan would always say, what are you off to do? Not like, where do you open them up and nan would always say what are you off to do not like where do you think you're going but like what are
you off to do now what are you doing yeah and we did it and i said she was like holy shit like it
was literally like i was really i was yeah i was living both moments at the same time from a
different point of view wow it was weird and i said you know that just reminded me so much of
my grandparents and she said why and i said you just reminded me so much of my grandparents. And she said, why?
And I said, you just said, oh, what do you have to do?
And she's like, we say that to each other five or ten times a day.
If we're somewhere together and then we go in different directions,
what do you have to do now?
Like just to – and it's not like, where do you think you're going?
It's just this chicken thing.
Yeah.
And we do it all the time.
It's cute.
Yeah, it's real cute.
And my grandparents used to call each other mum and dad.
Oh, my mum and dad do that. Do they call each other mum and dad? Mum and dad. Where's mum? Yeah, where's real cute. And my grandparents used to call each other mum and dad. Oh, my mum and dad do that.
Do they call each other mum and dad?
Where's mum?
Yeah, where's mum?
Where's mum?
Which is weird because she was my nan.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anyway, it was just one of those moments.
Really struck you.
Really cute.
You know, now that I'm like over 40 and I'm dying.
You are.
Every day closer.
We're all dying.
I don't want to bring this podcast down
Here we go
I'm just going to google
Conversation starters
For people
Deep into marriage
Deep in marriage
It's not that we're running out of things to talk about
What do you feel
That I don't understand about you
What do you still feel that I don't understand about you? What do you still feel that I don't understand about you?
The way she can stack the dishwasher like that.
She throws them in with her eyes shut.
That's how she stacks the dishwasher like that.
You put the freaking cup in the sink, so glass houses.
I will walk away.
What is something we have in common that you love?
That's a nice little conversation starter.
What is your favorite kind of physical touch?
Wow. That's interesting
Wow
What do you call that one
The crab claw
Hayley just gestured there
The pincer
Yikes
And that goes on
The undercarriage
That goes on the undercarriage
This goes where you
Sort of where it makes sense
To go
You made a gesture
As if to cup the ball
There
Yeah yeah
No I was being
Oh okay
Yeah right
Okay wow Right okay Wow It was Yeah We don't need to go into that Just the front the ball there. Yeah, yeah. No, I was being. Oh, okay. Yeah, right. Okay, wow.
Right, okay.
Wow.
Yeah.
We don't need to go into that.
Give us another question.
Okay, another question.
What do I do that makes you feel invisible or underappreciated?
Do you want to have a nice afternoon or what?
What are you trying to start an argument?
Yeah.
Okay, what skill?
Hey Sade, before you go
and do what you're going
to do, what skill would
you want to learn?
Oil painting outdoors,
barefoot water skiing,
coding or opera singing?
I just can't imagine
Sade doing any of those.
All of those options
are a bit darn, aren't
they?
Barefoot water skiing
would be fun.
Of those four. Coding practical. Yeah, water skiing would be fun. Would it? Of those four.
Coding practical.
Yeah, that'd be very practical.
Very practical.
You go, here's the ones for the deep, deep ones.
Do you feel we balance our time well between your parents and mine?
Oh, now.
Oh.
We're about to have a fight.
Wow.
Wow.
How can we be better parents?
That's a big one.
That's a big bite of cake.
Are there any topics that you feel uncomfortable talking about to me?
Is that because of how I've responded in the past?
Jeep.
Wow, these are deep.
Yeah, mid-afternoon having a coffee.
Here's one.
I'll leave you with this one.
Hey, babe, do you think we need to reassess our spending habits?
How would you
take that question?
I hope you guys
have a fun afternoon today.
Okay,
if you had to rate,
review or marry
Fletch,
Vaughn or Hayley,
what one would it be?
Okay,
I would marry
Hayley.
I would
have sex,
wait,
which one is it?
No, no, no, it's only rate, review, marry.
Oh, okay. No comment.
I've had sex with the podcast.
I don't know how that would work.
Give us a sexy little review, though.
