Yeah.
Come on.
To my brothers and sisters in 2019, I love you.
Thank you for being here.
To all of our visiting brothers and sisters from other churches,
thank you for being here.
To our global family, and we can say that now
from the testimonies we get from around the world,
to our global family, we welcome you from wherever you're watching,
across this nation and around the world. We welcome you.
And to everybody in this room who's not a follower of Jesus.
To the atheists in the room.
The skeptic.
The unbeliever.
The one that's still exploring the claims of Christ.
The one that's trying to figure out, is this for real?
Is he for real?
Are they for real?
We're thankful that you're here.
You can belong before you believe. And you could keep coming and exploring before you believe. And you
could keep investigating before you believe. And you could keep an eyebrow raised at me
as long as you want before you believe just keep coming
family we in week three a brand new teaching series called Kingdom callings I got you.
Adjust my mic.
I see.
Yeah, I see.
Is that better?
Okay.
We three have a brand new series called Kingdom Callings.
And in this series, we are teaching through Matthew chapters 10 and 11.
And if you are new to our gathering, we are walking through the entire book of Matthew.
We're probably going to be camped out there for a year and a half to two years.
We are in no rush to get through God's word.
We are fully expository church at this point until Jesus says otherwise.
We're doing that in obedience. So if you don't
like line by line teaching and expository teaching, this is not going to be the house for you. And we
okay with that. Okay. If you don't know the scriptures, Matthew was an outcast Jew, worked
for the Roman government. He was probably spit on when he walked down the street. He was hated by
other Jews because his job made him an enemy of sorts of his people. Okay. He was,
how can I put this? Rescued by the Lord Jesus Christ in the first century AD. He placed his
faith in Christ. He became a faithful follower of Christ and Christ changed his life. He would
become a martyr for what he believed.
In fact, all of the first apostles died for what they believed,
with the exception of John, who lived to an old age,
boiled in oil, but survived.
They gave their life for what they saw and what they heard.
We understand that these scriptures are true,
no matter what any man says.
It is the word of God,
inherent and infallible in its original languages.
And so that man Matthew was a scribe of sorts.
He had skills to make a record, an accurate record of numbers.
The Lord saved him.
I like this part.
Everybody watch.
When the Lord saved Matthew, he did not take away his gift.
He just redeemed it.
Right?
Like the Lord didn't, he didn't take away my nature i've always been an austere rugged dude he didn't take away my nature he just redeemed my nature
because now everything you are is weaponized under the blood even your failures
even your past mistakes become testimonies of God's grace. And so Matthew was a skilled
writer and the Lord redeemed his skill and caused Matthew to write what is the most read document in
the scriptures. It is the most read document in history. It is the document that the disciples used for 1700 years to ground people in the faith
today we're going to unpack um matthew chapter 10 verse 5 through 15 will be our main text
and then we're going to take a peek back at a text that kenny preached to us last week
the title for the message kenny preached to us last week. The title for the message Kenny preached to us last week.
Commission and called.
Called and commissioned.
I'm just going to keep it going.
We're going to just title this text called and sent.
Called and sent.
After this we'll talk about called and persecution.
Called and rejection. Called and sent. After this we'll talk about called and persecution. Called and rejection.
Called and peace.
Called and sent.
Called and sent.
We'll title this message called and sent.
Eternal God and ever wise father.
Feel your spirit Lord in the room.
Feel the weight of your glory in the room across this camera.
Father, our Lord, we live in a culture of entertainment and people want to be stirred in their emotions
but Lord I pray you would give us a hunger for learning
that you would subdue everything in us
that is adverse to learning
I pray you would help this weakened earthen vessel
with the microphone
communicate these eternal truths.
What man can do that, God?
Perfectly, but help us, Lord, to communicate these eternal truths to the best of my ability.
And just pray, God, you would give us revelation and insight.
That you would speak directly to your sons and your daughters.
And maybe even agitate the one who does not believe in you.
Let the weight of your word come to bear on our souls,
our minds, our hearts, and our faulty beliefs.
Let the weight of your word come to bear on our apathy,
our lethargy, and our indifference.
We may be changed and burned
in the mighty and majestic and the matchless name,
look up those words, of our Lord Jesus Christ.
All of God's people just agree with me and say amen.
Somebody say amen.
Somebody say amen.
It just means so let it be yeah give him a hallelujah
I hear you brother
yeah it's the highest praise
somebody give him one of those
hallelujah
yeah it's the highest praise
thank you all Thank you. I want to push my chips to the center of the table in a full moment of transparency.
Man, I got up this morning with a heavy heart, heavy with joy
and heavy with sorrow. It's just a reminder how in life like these things oftentimes run parallel
like two rails of a train, like mountaintops and valleys, joy and sorrow. And this morning,
man, I did get up with a heart that was very heavy, but also a heart that was very heavy but also a heart that was full of joy and sorrow. Yesterday man we completed under the new ban of 2019 our very first serve
Saturday our very first outreach initiative. I'm going to give a special shout out to Brittany T.
Our outreach director, who took a vision that I gave her to organize multiple outreaches on the same day.
We had never done this before in 10 years of our ministry.
For those of you who knew, we just changed the name of our church in January.
So technically, 2019 is like nine months old.
And we had never done ministry on that scale before in the history of our church.
Not in a decade have we ever done ministry on that scale outside these four walls.
So shout out to you, woman of God, for knowing how to carry vision. It's a powerful thing when you can entrust your vision to somebody else.
And they don't try to tweak or change your vision.
They just know how to execute with what you felt God put in your heart.
And we completed yesterday nine ministry initiatives
all across the city of Atlanta.
We had hundreds of people from this room out there
doing God's work.
And all these different locations all around Atlanta,
we went out there to be the hands and feet of Jesus,
and we're just getting started.
We have a vision to dominate this city
with outreach in the name of Jesus
because we want the presence of the Lord to be felt.
We want the presence of the Lord and his love to be felt
through our new initiative, Serve M25, straight from Matthew 25.
You did all these things to me when you did all these to the least of my brothers
and in principle the Lord is teaching us that all of those who belong to him should care about
those who are less fortunate than us. So the outreach that I was assigned to because they
assigned to me my outreach. I didn't even get a chance to choose. I'm the pastor. I didn't get a
chance to choose who I was going to be and they just assumed that I want to be in the street, so they put me out there in the street.
They just, like, if I didn't want to do the cleanup or go to the nursing home,
they just put me on the street outreach, and they put me out there in the street.
And it was like some 50 of us.
We was 50 deep. We was 50 deep
out there in the street feeding, care kits, laying on of hands, and dealing with demonic
forces, spreading the gospel, impromptu worship gathering in the middle of a park in downtown
Atlanta. Man, it was powerful.
And there was a moment when myself and maybe eight other individuals,
I know they're in the room, we kind of slipped underneath an underpass of 75, I-75, and there were some tents.
If y'all see some of these people who have set up tents underneath bridges,
and we drive by them like they're not human beings.
On the way to our homes
and our apartments, and we forget that in the cold, they're going to be there, and in the rain,
that they're there, and they are scrounging for food, whatever they can scrape up. So we went
under our overpass, and there was a family there, and we was leaving bags and care kits with
everybody in this tent community. There was one tent in particular we knocked on that tent, and there was a couple inside
that tent, a man and a woman.
And the woman came out of that tent, she had a beer can in her hand, and she started apologizing
to us for being drunk.
Apologizing, like she felt the presence of Jesus, like she felt the presence of God come
into her tent.
And her first response was to repent for what she thought was sin like like Isaiah like Isaiah who saw the Lord high and lifted up and his response to the Lord
was humility not pride not arrogance not self-entitlement his response to the holy god was woe is me
i'm a man of unclean lips and i live amongst a people of unclean lips that the proper response
to god is humility not arrogance that when we are arrogant in his presence you have no revelation
of who he really is for if you really knew who god is you could we are arrogant in his presence, you have no revelation of who he really is.
For if you really knew who God is, you could not be arrogant in his presence.
And when she felt the presence of God come into her tent, man, she just started confessing sin.
You remember this?
She just started confessing sin and apologizing for drinking and apologizing for being drunk.
And somebody on our team said to her in love love you don't need to apologize to us.
We human beings.
You don't need to apologize to us.
We don't need none of your worship. You don't need
to apologize to us. We did not come to judge
you. We came to love on you.
This is a
true story. We said to that
woman we did not come to judge you.
We came to love on you.
No teeth in her mouth.
Clothes falling off of her. Odor everywhere. Drunk. Shedding tears because she can feel the
presence of God in that moment. Coming to her where she was. Meeting her in her tent at her level not her trying to get to God God
coming to meet her Jesus coming to meet us that Jesus is the greatest missionary
the world has ever known leaves eternity to come to a people just like that woman under the bridge. You ain't no better.
You ain't no better.
You just as sinful,
just as unholy,
before he found you, just as unrighteous.
I know some of you think because you was born on the altar,
you was born righteous. No, you was born righteous.
No, you were born a sinner separated from God.
No different than the woman under the bridge who we met yesterday.
I wish I could remember her name.
What was her name?
Janet.
Janet.
Because we talk to people.
We got names and receipts.
Janet.
I remember we gave Janet food.
We gave Janet a care kit.
And Janet's just standing there just crying.
Just weeping in God's presence.
Not our presence.
God's presence.
God's presence.
And I turned my back to walk away from Janet.
And the Holy Spirit apprehended me.
No, son.
Pray for this woman. I turned back and walk away from Janet, and the Holy Spirit apprehended me. No, son, pray for this woman. I turned back, and I said to Janet, can we pray for you? And Janet dropped her bear can and
said yes, and she was shorter than me, and she put her arms around me. She put her head on my shirt.
Snot is coming out on my shirt, and she squeezes my side with all of her strength.
Like she was ripping out my, my, whatever this is, whatever this part of your body is called.
My love handles my whatever. Yo, your boy's in the gym. Like it's right. So what? So she had too much to grab or whatever. She was, but she.
Your boy's getting better, right?
I'm trying to say she hurt me.
No, but listen. No, she hurt me. No, but listen.
No, she hurt me because she was hurting.
She was hurting me because she was hurting.
And we all came around.
We laid hands on Janet and we prayed the heavens down over janet and believed that god would continue to meet her right in her tent and that some ministry with
more resources than ours would come behind us to remember janet all we can give her was a care kit
we didn't have a resource to put in the house we don't have those kind of resources yet you know what I'm
just gonna prophesy over some of you I pray a day come for us as a church and
for some of you personally where you won't have to say I'm gonna pray for you
you will be the money to put you in a house
right now I don't gotta pray for you I got the money to put you in a car right now I don't gotta
pray for you I got the money to pay your bills for the next year right now. That I want blessings to be overflowing from your
life so you can be a blessing and not hoard a blessing. Somebody holler at me if you received
that. Somebody say, Lord, make me the answer. I feel that a day is coming when I will be an answer.
I'm not going to see people in need and can't do nothing about it.
There's some things we won't have to pray about if we had the resources to take care of it.
Don't have to pray for God to open
up a door for Janet. We can be the door for Janet. Some of y'all clapping, but you don't support the
gospel. See, it's going to get quiet now. You don't care about Janet. You don't care about the spread
of the gospel. You just hoard everything that comes into your house.
While we're in a school with no AC.
Don't hear you praising God now.
Your fist so tight. You're so scared to be generous.
While Janet is under a bridge.
And we're in a school.
American Christianity. American Christianity. can I say
this is too offensive for me to say this
I need to get back to the message
I know
I'm about to say something very offensive
I'm about to offend something very offensive. I'm about to offend you with love.
How can any of us
who are followers of Christ
glance at what Jesus did for you on the cross
for God so loved,
mutilated his son for you,
turn away from the cross and hoard
how is that possible in your soul
how do you stare at the cross and turn away from it and not be generous how is that possible in
your soul oh i know you feel entitled to salvation. You feel entitled to grace.
Let me go deeper.
You feel entitled to escape damnation.
Like your good behavior can escape the wrath that is coming.
All that I have and all that I am came from him.
Who am I to not give back
to help other people?
Oh no, I'm not going to be generous.
My pastor is going to be on a jet.
I don't want him to buy a new car
with my money.
I feel heat let me just get back to the message right no it don't take my time I see they angry at me from the platform
huh I'm not I'm not afraid
and I don't care if they don't come back next week.
Yeah, I'm not going to make me preach
because I'm a slave to your people addiction.
No, I'm free from that.
I'm free.
You can't preach truth
when you're bound to the approval of people.
Yeah, I know the room is packed all the way to the back.
And I know we believe God that for a long time.
And watch, now that the room is packed to capacity,
the temptation would be is stroke them so they don't leave. Jesus!
Now I'm all over the place right now.
Janet was squeezing me.
She was hurting me because she was hurt.
And watch, and watch what she said.
When I finished praying for Janet, you know what Janet said to me?
I finished praying for her, I took my hands off of her, and I tried to walk away, and she was squeezing me.
She wouldn't let me go.
This is what Janet said.
She said, please don't leave me here.
With tears in her eyes.
Hold on.
Hold on.
She begged.
She said, please, pastor, don't.
Please.
She said, not pastor, please don't leave me here.
She was just hoping that we can lift her out of her suffering.
And my brothers and sisters, yo, I'm thinking about Janet this morning,
and my heart is full of joy because hundreds of us was doing outreach yesterday across nine initiatives, and we've never done anything on that scale. My heart is full of joy for that.
At the same time, if I could be fully transparent fully transparent man my heart was so broken this morning for janet
and i could see her i could see her with with with her black hair her black hair just it's just her
weave just just slapped on because she's just holding on for hope. And I could feel her nails in my side.
And it's 4 a.m. and I'm crying out this morning for Janet. And I'm weeping in tears over Janet.
And in that moment, listen to me, please. Yo, I get this strong reminder of the great depravity of human beings, man. How depraved humanity is
apart from God. We're like sheep scattered without a shepherd, man. Under bridges and lost and
separated from God, man. And I thought about all the people we saw yesterday that was like,
they're scattered with no shepherd, no guidance, outside of the
kingdom, poor and headed for damnation. And I was grieved and I thought about the wealthy people I
see on social media who just the same are headed for damnation. Wealthy and arrogant and prideful,
think their money is going to keep them comfortable in flames.
Like any amount of millions or billions can protect you from the wrath of God.
You are a liar to think, you are deceived to think wealth can protect you from the wrath that is coming. And from the wealthy atheist to the poor woman under the bridge, I wept this morning thinking about the depravity of human beings,
how separated we are from eternity.
Can I go deeper?
Listen, I thought about, man, how messed up we are as human beings apart from Jesus.
Man, we are messed up.
Our marriages are messed up.
Our homes are messed up.
Our values are messed up.
The things that we treasure are all messed up. Our values are messed up. The things that we treasure are all messed up.
The way women see beauty are all messed up.
All messed up.
And I just thought about this, like in my mind, I was sitting there shedding tears, praying, 4 a.m., crying out to God and saying, Lord, you are the only hope for humanity.
And then I begin to just, it was so crazy in that moment. I had to flash back to when Lena and I was living in North Carolina in a small apartment, and when the Lord had saved me over that toilet
seat, and just in that moment, watch, I just begin to thank god for salvation i begin to thank
god when i thought about all the times i could have been dead all the times man when bullets
grazed my air when i was in shootouts i thought about all the times i could have been dead when
when my friend drove over a cliff drunk and we almost died man and i just begin to cry out to
god i just begin to thank him, listen, for salvation.
I didn't want anything from him in the moment.
I didn't want a bigger church.
I didn't want a different house.
I didn't want a newer car because my car is nine years old.
I didn't want something.
I just was thanking him for salvation.
I was thanking God that he rescued me from the dominion of darkness. He brought me into
the kingdom of light. I thought about the fact how I did not know him. I did not deserve that.
There was nothing I can do to come into the kingdom on my own. I thought about how the
scripture says, unless the Lord draws someone to himself, like the Lord draws and then we are saved so I think
about every person who saved the Lord was wooing you had his eyes on you was
scheming on you was plotting on the day month time and year when you would say
yes and how your good behavior couldn't earn that,
and how your heritage couldn't earn that,
and who your mother was or who your father was,
and if you were born in church, couldn't earn that.
And as I'm saying that, I already know y'all are bored because in American Christianity, we don't even thank God for salvation.
We just keep begging him for the next best thing.
We want the next iPhone, the next fill in the blank, man.
We never even look back to say, Lord, look where you took me from.
Like David, look where you took me from.
Do I got anybody that can give God a remembrance praise for where he took you from?
See, you think he owed you that.
No one comes to God except they're drawn by the Lord.
So if you're in this room, if your name is written in the Lamb's book of life,
if you died today in a car accident and you would wake up in glory,
it was the Lord that wounds you to himself.
You could not manufacture that.
You could not earn that.
And I was just, look,
thanking God for that.
Those tears right here,
those are the tears of,
I was shedding those tears for him. Lord Lord I remember where you took me from can I
watch can I go deeper not only where you took me from but where you brought me
into because then I was reminded the Lord doesn't only save us out of darkness he saves you into a kingdom so watch he calls you from
something to something all right watch I'm going somewhere we're gonna unpack
the text I'm a speed through the text I already know you got medicine to take
you want to go to the restaurant I already Take my time? I'm gonna do that today. Can I take my time?
I don't gotta be rushed. You're not gonna bounce on me. Teach the word. The Lord called you from
something to something. Watch. And in the middle of calling from something to something, you know
what American Christianity has done? Watch. It has taught us that the middle of calling from something to something you know what american christianity
has done watch it has taught us that the lord called us from something to be consumers of what
we want watch listen y'all did your homework right listen to american preaching you know
what it trains believers to do? To be consumers. It's all about your vision board full of stuff. I ain't never seen
anybody make a vision board with intangible things you can't touch. Maybe your next vision
board should be, I want more wisdom. I want to live more holy. I want to be more disciplined.
I want to have more faith. I want to be more devoted. I want to have a stronger prayer life. Where's that for your vision board? That's not your vision board. Husband, wife, house, car, your empire.
And what American Christianity has taught us to do, watch, is to turn the church and the gathering
of Jesus into a platform for consumerism.
You know, it's always about
what can be done for me.
And how we're trying to serve
you better.
And we got
a dope children's church to serve you better.
And we got squads to serve
you better. And I'm going to do my best
with my sermon prayer to just keep certain.
And listen, there's a place for some of that but we've overdone that
i know it is because i know how this go down most of people they come into gatherings like this and
it's all about what you can get from from from the church it's watch you sit down and you think
it's all about you i already know because i was like that go to churches and think it's all about you. I already know because I was like that. Go to churches and think it's all about me. What's best for me? It's all about three people, me, myself, and I.
Let me just lean on your American Christianity for just a bit. That's not the way the Lord
called you, and that's not the scriptures that we read.
That's why I gave you an assignment to read a New Testament letter and then come up for air and then listen to American preachers.
Does you see any semblance of the New Testament with what you're hearing across the airwaves?
That the Lord did not call you to be a consumer.
The Lord, hear me this, the Lord called you to send you.
The Lord called you to work through you.
The Lord called you to use you.
The Lord called you to be a representative through you to others. Some of you,
you don't believe that about yourself. I understand. I'm going to help you with some of that.
Here is the wisdom of Jesus in the text, okay? Now, let's look at the text. Matthew chapter 10.
Let's go back real quick. Verse 1. Watch. And he, Jesus, called him, his 12 disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal every disease and every affliction.
And we learned last week from the message that Kenny preached that anything God calls you to do, he will also empower you to do it.
Right?
Now, everybody look at verse 2.
And the names of the 12 apostles, pay attention.
Everybody pay attention.
Look at me.
Pay attention. Don't let the devil steal this from you. Pay attention. Say, pastor's hot.
I'm gonna fall asleep in this heat. Be generous so we can get out of this room. it's not rocket science
everybody pay attention verse two this is powerful and the names of the 12 apostles
everybody watch this are these everybody watch Everybody watch. First, Simon,
who is also Peter, right? And Andrew, his brother. James, the son of Zebedee. And John, his brother.
Philip, I like that name. And Bartholomew. Thomas and Matthew, the tax collector who wrote this
document. James, the son of Alphaeus, a different James, Thaddeus,
Simon the zealot, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed him. Now everybody watch. 12 names, 12 dudes.
Who are they? Yo, in this group, this is powerful to me, four uneducated fishermen.
Watch. In this group, a man who was a radical fanatic simon the zealot
who was like thugged out he was the one if he was in your staff he'd be the one carrying them tools
all the time he'd be the one pulling guns on everybody he was part of a radical sect that
tried to overthrow rome by force watch thomas man that dude got a bad rep for being a doubter the rest of his life Matthew a tax collector a wealthy man who was watch betrayed or a wealthy
man who was despised by his own people a couple nobodies that you don't even
know don't even care who they are James the son of Alpha's you don't even know
who he is don't care we don't even know that much about him from history and
Judas Iscariot who was Judas from K kirioth so judas if he was from kirioth watch this was the
only person of the 12 not from galilee from jesus original area of ministry so he was an outsider
added to the team he was not a good cultural fit for the team the only non-galilean was the one to
betray jesus and if you got a business a company or
whatever you've got to be careful about adding people to the team who are bad cultural fits
for the team
i'm trying to help all my entrepreneurs all my employers about hiring bad cultural fits for the team.
Because if Judas was from Kiriath, according to my study, he would have been the only one who was not from Galilee.
Pastor, why are you telling us about these men?
Watch, because ain't no all-stars on the list.
It's going to register to you in just a second. But Jesus gathered a group of
B paper people and used a small group to change the world. No all-stars on the list. Uneducated
people, a rich atheist, a radical hothead, a bunch of no-name people, and a betrayer, to let you know that the Lord calls
people from all socioeconomic statuses, and that the Lord can use anyone that's fully
surrendered to him. This group gives me hope that even the people of the world would despise and
say it's unusable. The Lord says this person is usable in my sight. There's some of you people
know you from the past,
would never believe the Lord can do anything with your life,
but the Lord has a way of picking people the world would never choose.
When teachers look you in your face in high school and say,
you're never going to amount to nothing and use a different word, The Lord chooses people like that.
And then verse 5.
Now let's run through our text really quickly.
What does he do with them?
So we know that Jesus what? He calls people where?
To himself first.
Then he calls you to see.
He showed them the harvest.
The feel of the world that was so ripe. So he calls people to himself first. Then he calls you to see. He showed them the harvest, the feel of the world that was
so ripe. So he calls people to himself first. He calls people to see differently once they come
into the kingdom. Then he calls us to service. Now Jesus has a group of men that he called to
himself. What does he do with them next? He sends them to church to just sit and suck up sermons and
do nothing. That's what he does with them next. That's what we think Christianity
is. You think Christianity is this time you spend right here, just absorbing and not doing nothing
with it. Can I lean on your American Christianity for just a little bit? Verse five. these 12 jesus sent out sent out sent out how long did it take for them to two years
okay two years they was with him for two years and then he sends them out a year before he leaves
he sends them out instructing them go nowhere among the gentiles everybody pay attention and enter no town of the
samaritans pay attention but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of israel now i want you to
look at the text very carefully it says that jesus sent them out and then what did he do when he sent
them out he gave them instructions that anything that god has called you to do, he will not only empower you to do it,
but he will guide you through it. That you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
If he called you to do it, he will guide you through it. And I'm talking about callings.
And listen, some of y'all, you make calling so glorious. I'm talking about calling from
something as little as he called you to be a parent and to raise up godly, righteous children
or called you to a platform
and anything in between.
If he called you to it,
he would give you instructions.
Now I want you to notice from the text,
they did not send themselves out.
They did not get saved and say,
I'm going to manufacture a ministry.
I'm so unpopular for this.
That Jesus called,
Jesus commissioned.
They did not get saved and then built their own ministry
and their own strength.
The Lord gave them instructions.
I want you to notice they did not send themselves.
The Lord sent them out.
Okay?
That's a problem in our generation
is that you got saved on September,
you're starting a ministry in October.
Never mind process.
Never mind training.
Never mind sitting under somebody for a little while.
Side note, if serving is beneath you, then leadership is far above you.
So I want you to notice they did not send themselves out.
Watch.
They had the character to be sent out.
Okay. I want you to also notice the Lord told him don't go to these places only go to the house of israel first that the gospel will be preached to
the jews first and then it will go to the gentiles so i want you to also notice he put watch
restrictions on their ministry ministry. And a question for you is, do you have the character to handle godly restrictions?
Likewise, I know you anointed for the platform, but I want you to be an usher in this season.
Oh, I know you think you're an apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, and evangelist,
but I want you to be on the welcome team in this season.
I know you can sing and think you deserve a microphone,
but I want you to just be God and greet people at the front door just for this season.
I want to see do you have the character to handle calling restrictions.
Don't go to these places, the Lord says. Only go to the place that I'm
telling you first. That is, I'm sending you out, but I'm sending you out with restrictions.
And I want to know, some of us have the character to handle the restrictions of the Lord. I know
you anointed. I know you called. I know you're chosen. I know you got books in you. I know you
want to start a church. I know you think you can preach better than me and do everything. I know all of that, but I just want you to be on that team right there for a season.
Because the restrictions of the Lord are for your benefit. Anytime the Lord restricts you from doing
something or closes the door or redirects you to something else, he's doing that for your benefit.
He restricts us, man, for your benefit, to build you up,
to develop character,
to protect you, watch,
from hurting yourself.
And to protect you
from stepping into things
before it's time.
Because God's timing
is his kindness.
I know he called you
to be a worldwide evangelist.
You just got saved last year.
I want you to serve
at a church faithfully first.
Jesus!
I want you to sit down for a season and receive first.
So I want you to see they have the character for restrictions.
But I want to make an assumption of the text based on something I'm going to read in a couple other verses next week.
Notice what the Lord did not allow to hinder him from sending them out because we'll read about this later on.
And some of us, this is a struggle for us.
You know what it is to feel called and insecure at the same time? Later on, he'll talk to him about fear not. You know what
it is to feel called? You feel like God is wooing you to something, but you feel insecure about that
at the same time? Anybody's ever felt that before? You know what it is to feel called and you feel,
watch this, you feel unprepared for what God is calling you to do? Nobody's never felt that before.
You know what it is for the Lord to open up a door for you
and tell you to walk through that door,
but you don't feel like you have the goods to walk through that door,
the education to walk through that door,
the training to walk through that door?
You know what it is for the Lord to be tapping you
to step into something you feel so afraid?
It could be something as simple as join a squad, but you feel afraid.
Jump on that team, but you feel afraid.
I don't want them to really know who I am.
I'm afraid they might judge me.
I want you to start the ministry now, you feel afraid.
Write the book now, you feel afraid.
Start the podcast now, and we feel afraid.
We feel unworthy.
Look over our past.
If you knew, Lord, where I came from, you would never call me to do something like this.
And I'm not making an assumption of the text because they're human beings.
I'm sure that that's in them.
You've been with Jesus for two years.
Now he sends y'all out two by two
to preach the gospel.
I'm sure there's insecurities there.
For some of them, maybe some pride there.
Some fear there.
Can I say something to somebody who feels called right now? Just do it afraid.
Just step into it afraid. I've never met in my life a fearless person,
but I have met people that learn to fail less.
And so, you really think I feel prepared to do this every week?
Y'all really think I'm a machine?
You think I'm not a human being?
You think I have no insecurities.
I never feel afraid.
I never feel ill-equipped or unprepared.
I never have weeks when I had a terrible preparation week,
and my outline looks like crap, and I got to get up there.
And you think I'm always ready, and you think I'm a machine.
Like, I'm not a human being that feels afraid sometimes.
Like, I don't walk up this platform with the fear of God in my heart
every single week to handle these eternal scriptures.
You think I don't ever feel nervous about leading a growing organization and handling a growing budget and dealing with staff and employees and all this stuff?
And then having to preach every week?
You think I never feel insecure about any of that stuff.
And I think about, man, a dude from Queens that almost barely got out of high school
leading a whole organization.
You think I never feel insecure about that?
But I love the fact the Lord don't allow our insecurities
to keep us from his calling.
And he don't allow his fear to keep us from,
like he don't allow our fear to keep us from that.
Man, that we keep stepping into things
with fear and insecurity.
And then you look over your shoulder, man, man, Lord, I've been walking with you for
all this time and you led me through all of that while I was afraid, insecure, nervous,
felt unworthy, preaching and feeling unworthy.
Everybody look at me.
If your fear, your insecurity,
your sense of unworthiness was going to be a disqualification for calling,
everybody will be disqualified.
Somebody just thank the Lord right now
that he looked past your fear,
past your insecurity.
Is anybody thankful that he looked past all of that?
Your feelings of unworthiness? Yes.
Can I finish the text?
Verse 7.
And proclaim as you go, saying,
the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Heal the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse lepers, cast out demons,
because they are real and they are in people.
And if you're not saved, you are subject to demonic influence.
You are empty house without the Holy Spirit.
That's why you need to be saved.
Don't scare me.
They're real.
That's why you shouldn't go see psychics.
They're tapped into demons.
You shouldn't go get your tarot card read because that is demonic.
You shouldn't believe in horoscopes because that is demonic.
The scripture tells us stay away from all those things.
The scripture tells us stay away from all fortune telling
because all fortune telling is demonic.
Come on.
Come on.
I used to be a Sagittarius.
Now I'm just a believer.
Your little Gemini chain.
You better get rid of that.
All that stuff is demonic.
You say, man, but I got the Virgo tattooed on my leg.
Get a new tattoo. Get a new tattoo. All fortune telling.
All sage.
Crystals.
Mystics.
Psychics.
Horoscopes.
Tarot cards.
Burning your little sage incense to create a vibe
all that stuff is demonic
demonic
but the psychic told me about my past accurately
of course demons been watching you since you was a child
duh
they can see. Duh.
I'm not going to be guided by a fortune cookie.
I'm going to be guided by the word of God.
Too many believers tap into too much demonic stuff. You want to burning you want to burn something burn your heart instead of burning sage
how about that you need to go home and take all that sage and throw it in the trash
it's demonic you want to burn something burn your heart in prayer burn your heart with the word here
is the best thing you can burn you You want incense? Light up the word in your house.
Listen, I'm going to speak for my church, okay?
My church.
I got to help y'all because what I don't want you to do is be wearing a 2819 shirt and then burning sage on a reel.
Looking like you have no common sense.
Like you haven't been taught.
So I'm going to help my church.
You got on a 2819 shirt burning sage,
and you got tarot cards open on your desk with a 2819 shirt on.
You're just telling everybody you've not read the scriptures.
So let your teacher help you.
That stuff is demonic.
All them little juju bees
and idols
and tarot cards
all that stuff
put it in a plastic bag
and set it on fire
and throw it in the trash.
Today
on the Lord's day
do that.
Watch some of you
you're going to be more clear
in your mind
after you do that.
All that stuff is demonic.
The scripture teaches us god said that stuff is demonic oh no hold on they don't believe me man uh i need more time
watch watch come here paul paul travels to a city with his boys. He gets to a city and a woman
starts following him. These men come in the name of the most high God. They're following, a girl
following Paul for days. These men come in the name of the most high God. Everywhere Paul went
in the city, some girl was following him. These men come in the name of the most high God. And
then Paul is leaving. These men come in the name of the most high God, following Paul. Now watch. Those men did come
in the name of the most high God. And then when Paul, watch, got tired of her nonsense,
he turns to her and he commands the demon to come out of her. The demon who was saying these men come, the demon that was saying these men come
in the name of the most high God,
because the best lie is not an outright lie.
The best lie is mingled with truth.
I'm going to help my people okay my church family these men come in the name of the most high god paul gets tired of a foolishness turns to her
the scripture says and commands the demon to come out of her the demon that was saying these men
come in the name of the most high God.
And watch.
And then when the owners of the girl who was a slave figured out she could not fortune tell any longer.
And she could not make them any more money.
They try to throw Paul out of the city. I'm going to help
my church family
not be idiots
on social media.
I'm going to help you not look ignorant
on social media.
Let me repeat, all such fortune telling that anything connected to it I'm going to help you not look ignorant on social media.
Let me repeat, all such fortune telling that anything connected to it is demonic.
I see somebody clutching their little Sagittarius chain right now.
14 carats.
That's a lot of demonic activity on your neck.
I should have an altar call for all demonic jewelry.
Just throw it up here right now.
They ain't going to move.
They're embarrassed.
See, somebody just throw it at me from the back of the room.
We should have a sage
bring everything demonic
and lay it on the altar next Sunday.
Homework for this week bring everything demonic your bag your and put it right here on the altar next week your tarot cards your your your jewelry your your rocks and your crystals. Your what sticks? Your stage sticks.
Your what?
Your what?
Your evil eyes?
Your evil eyes?
Huh?
Your what?
Your sound bowl?
Your Ouija board?
Y'all demonic.
I don't know none of that stuff we about to stop
turn this into a prayer gathering right now
y'all mad demonic
I come against
every devil in this room
I come against
every demonic force
in this room you be subdued by the power
of truth of God's Word come against all that garbage we bought this section free
in Jesus name I'm serious man we need to be a free people a wise people a
biblically illiterate people biblically literate people. Biblically literate.
I'm so tired of us with your little tattoo.
Who God sets free is free indeed.
No, you read that wrong.
If you abide in my teaching, then you are truly my disciples.
And the truth that you know will set you free.
You know what?
Everything you own that's demonic,
I want you to bring it here next week.
I'm dead serious.
Wait till I get on the platform
and just run up here and throw it on the platform.
Or if you're afraid you don't want to be seen,
come early for prayer and just leave it on the platform.
Where's my team?
Don't take it off the platform either.
Throw all that demonic stuff on the platform right here next week.
Every chain, your jewelry, your tarot cards, your little idols, your wood carvings, your juju bees, your little bracelets.
All that stuff.
Leave it right here next week.
Your little Buddhas, all your little dust, all that stuff
leave it right here.
Y'all talking to dead ashes like
they can talk back. That person
either in heaven or damnation.
They're not in that bottle.
Man, I'm in trouble, man.
I got to finish this.
All right, let me,
I got to just throw away everything I was going to say.
Let me just run through this.
Proclaim as you go, saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons.
Yes?
Yes?
Somebody call me?
Oh.
Teach?
Look.
Cast out demons.
You have received without paying.
Give without pay.
So I want you to see how the Lord, anytime he calls somebody, right, he gives them instructions.
Everybody watch this.
Now, this is important. Watch. I'm going to speed through this, but watch. Notice what he told them instructions everybody watch this now this this is important watch i'm gonna
speed through this but watch notice what he told him to preach preach the kingdom of heaven is at
hand who else preached that jesus who else preached that john the baptist uh i want your message to
sound like mine i want your biblical posting to sound like mine.
I want the preaching in America to sound like mine.
I want you to preach the message that I preach.
Teach the things that I gave.
Here is the metric for all of our teaching right here, Genesis to Revelation.
So he's telling a man, preach.
This is the beginning of the spread of the gospel.
Preach what I, and then heal the sick, cast out demons.
We don't got to get into details.
You know what that is, man?
Ease the suffering of other people.
Use your life, your resources, your prayers, your love. Anytime you get an opportunity to ease the suffering of other people,
like a hug for Miss Janet and a prayer. Man, be
conscious of where you can ease the suffering of other people, is what he says. And watch,
and don't manipulate people as I send you. You have received from me freely, turn and be a
blessing to other people freely, is what he tried to tell them. don't be a manipulator. I'm going to cut out half of my
outline. I'm just going to speed through this. Verse 9. Now, this part is important.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. The outline is burning in my heart. No, this part is
important. I want to help some of you. I want to help some of you that is always waiting to do what God has called you to do. Okay, watch verse 9. Acquire no gold or silver or copper for your belts,
no bag for your journey or two tunics or sandals or staff for the laborer deserves his food.
In Mark's other gospels, they would say they had all of these. People think there's a discrepancy.
No discrepancy between Matthew and Mark. What Jesus is really saying, watch, everything you have to
start, everything you need to start, you already have. That's a word for somebody in this room.
You've been sitting on that thing for years. Everything you need to start, you already have.
He's telling them, you don't need anything extra to go and do what
i've called you to do watch watch and as you go watch this i will provide everything you need
so so watch provision follows faithfulness
god help us.
Provision follows faithful people.
That if you're just faithful to do what, it could be raising your child or platform ministry. Whatever God has called you to do, you have everything you need to get started.
And as you go, he will provide for you as you go.
You don't have to have everything figured out as you go and you don't need everything you think you need
so this is a word for somebody who's been disobedient for a long time you got everything
you need to start and as you go the lord will provide for you everything that you need. Don't let that baby
be aborted. Man, that's a word for somebody. You've been carrying that baby for a long time.
Don't let, and the Lord keeps nudging you to do this thing, to be obedient in this area,
to step into this thing. And you keep waiting for the sun and the planets and the moon to align
and for everything
to be perfect before you start. Man, my first sermon preaching at this church, I had no money
in my bank account and no money in the church bank account. I had no money to take my kids to lunch
and my kids had holes in their shoes and I stepped out on faith anyway. verse 11
and whatever town or village you enter
find out who is worthy in it and stay there
until you depart
as you enter the house greet it and if the house is worthy, let your peace
come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to it. Don't have a lot of time
because I know you want to leave. You know what the Lord was saying to him? He talked about worthy
houses. Watch this. Worthy homes, peace, and no peace. The Lord is talking about the gospel
atmospheres and the kind of environments
we live in. So he's saying, man, who are people who are worthy? Anyone who received the gospel
message, that home is worthy. This comes from the culture in the first century of traveling ministers
staying in the homes of people in towns because hotels were dangerous and full of prostitution.
So traveling ministers will find people who receive the gospel
and they will stay in their home. Now watch what he said. He said, anybody received the message,
then watch, bless that home. God. If anybody reject the message, take that blessing away from that home.
So where the gospel is received, there an atmosphere he said bless that home let there
be an atmosphere of blessing where home has received the gospel this is so profound where
a husband and wife have received the gospel where children are being taught the gospel he says man
where they receive this message man speak a blessing over that home let their peace be upon
that home and if they reject that message man take the blessing away over that home. Let their peace be upon that home. And if they reject that message,
man, take the blessing away from that home.
God.
Last two verses. and if anyone will not receive,
you will listen to your words,
shake off the dust from your feet.
I'm about to tell you something very important.
When you leave that house or town,
truly I'll say to you,
it will be more bearable.
Watch this word, bearable.
Two words, more bearable. You know what that is? That's levels of punishment. It'll be more bearable on a day of judgment coming for
everybody than for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah. Listen to what he says. This is so powerful
because I used to deal with this. You know what the Lord was preparing his people to deal with?
Everybody watch.
I'm finished now.
Now I'm finished.
I tossed out the rest of the outline.
I tossed it out.
No, I tossed it out.
It's my fault.
I just took too long to get here.
It's all right.
You know what the Lord was preparing his people for?
Listen, he was preparing his people for two things, very important, two things he was preparing them for,
how to handle rejection. Because if you live long enough, you're going to deal with rejection.
So he's trying to teach them how to handle rejection and the way he taught them to handle
rejection if they don't receive the message they don't receive you you know this is this is like
this is like people who start cutting you off because they see you following christ
it's the family members that start hating on you because you're following after god's calling
it's the people that stop following you because you went from posting things
that was really ratchet to posting things that's really righteous.
It's the people that don't understand you anymore because you don't like going
to places you used to go and doing the things you used to go.
It's all the people that got an issue with your salvation.
I'm done, Frank.
Right?
You know what he's preparing them for?
How to handle rejection.
And he said, if y'all go places and they don't receive the message of the gospel, man, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.
Which was a practice that pious Jews did when they left Gentile towns.
Watch.
As a sign of rejection of those Gentile towns.
You know what else the Lord was trying to teach them?
There are some people you can't help.
And I want you to stop wasting your time trying to convince people that don't want to be convinced.
Everybody watch.
So he's trying to train them how to handle rejection.
That you got to know how to pivot from rejection.
And not feel so personal.
If they reject Christ in you, they reject you.
That you hold them forever.
You take that so personal.
He said, man, if they don't receive, if they reject you, man, shake the dust off your feet.
That is, yo, just let them go and keep moving forward.
Let the Lord deal with them.
You know what else he was preparing them for? Watch. That he was trying to teach them. there's some people in his life you're not going to be able to help you wasting your time trying to help
that person with a hardened heart let the lord deal with them in another season
third thing you know what's the third thing he's trying to help them with he's trying to help them
with the jesus complex that you can't fix every problem, and you can't fix every home, and you can't fix every situation, and every single problem is not your assignment.
So you stop wearing yourself thin.
Trying to help people that's not your assignment he said anybody reject my message watch
watch this anyone reject the gospel of
Jesus in this life he says watch it's gonna be more tolerable for
Sodom and Gomorrah than for the person that rejects Jesus why first Genesis
tells us about Sodom and Gomorrah two ancient cities that was rampant with
sexual perversion rampant with unnatural relations,
and say, man, this is how God made me.
This is my desire.
It don't matter.
Your desire could still be unrighteous.
Imagine if we gave a license to every married man to pursue your lust.
Y'all wouldn't like that, ladies.
So don't get mad at me when I stand for marriage
according to the scriptures
and we stand against the evil agenda that's sweeping our nation the Lord destroyed two cities
for the same agenda we're teaching kids now in kindergarten Let me repeat.
For all of you soft Christians that get mad every time I stand up against unrighteousness,
the same crap they're trying to teach kids in kindergarten that is right
is the same thing that God, watch, destroyed two cities for.
You said, I don't believe that.
They found both of those cities
buried on the amount of sulfur in the Middle East when the scripture says in
generous Genesis 19 God saw the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah all of
the unnatural sexual activities their unwillingness to repent their evil ways
the stuff we teach in kids now is right.
And he says, watch, he rained
down fire and brimstone
and wiped out two cities
for the stuff y'all keep pacifying
today.
For the thing you think
is cute and you want to keep
promoting,
the Lord destroyed two cities
for that kind of perversion
and for evil and for wickedness.
You should think God is playing.
I don't care about your desires.
I got desires that don't mean they're holy.
I was born a sinner.
I was born lustful.
That don't mean it's right.
That just because I got a desire,
that don't mean I got a right to act on my desire.
What about godly restrictions?
Only go to.
Do we have the character to handle godly restrictions?
I'd rather burn than burn
and you think Jesus is playing around listen to his not Philip Anthony Mitchell
listen to his words watch this he said anybody who reject the message of Christ
watch this the people from Sodom and Gomorrah who's in damnation
their punishment is going to be less severe than anyone that rejects Jesus
said but that don't seem fair why because the Lord watch damnation has
levels of punishment you got to read the scriptures everybody's not gonna deal
with the same flame but But why is that?
Who determines who gets worse flames than the other?
The more revelation you've been exposed to, the more accountable you are.
The greater the rejection, the greater the punishment in the afterlife.
The people of Sodom and Gomorrah rejected Yahweh, but they had not seen Christ yet.
In this America, man, you hear the preaching of the gospel every week, still reject Christ, still trying to go on your own, still think he's just a prophet.
If you die in your sin, he said your punishment is going to be worse than those who had less revelation than you.
That's why it's dangerous to hear the truth and and that's why i would be nervous to sit in any church where a pastor's not concerned about
where you're going to spend eternity if they don't care about eternity they will preach lies to you
to keep you comfortable they don't care about where your soul is going to end up and then because it is preaching you're not going to want to come back next week
you're going to park yourself in bedside baptist where they're going to keep you comfortable in
your sin a car accident will meet you a year from now you'll wake up in eternity and wish you would this is called love it's called love it's called not on my watch it's called no bloody hands from this pulpit
and for all of you in this room everybody watching me man you're so confused about what god is calling
you to do and what else was we called to do what i'm fitting to do we got all this american
confusion about calling you know why we confused about calling because in america you've over
romanticized it you've made it glorious you've worsh up the idea of calling you know how you
figure out your calling start but what has already been revealed just obey the
scriptures man just do the simple things love serve give forgive living community
just open if you just start with obedience to the word, you know what?
It's the Lord's will to reveal to you his will.
You don't got to over-romanticize calling.
You over-romanticize platforms.
Man, this is what I'm doing?
Man, you glorify this.
For what?
Why do you want this so bad?
For what?
Why do you want light, like fame? Like, yo, calling starts so
soon. Yo, when the Lord saved me, I was just walking my dog and thankful to be in the kingdom.
I was serving in a church. I was giving tithes and offerings. I was serving on a team. I was
living in community. Man, I was making little evangelists and cards that had the Romans roll,
Romans 3, 23 and 623. I was giving them out to people. I was just living evangelists in cars that had the Romans roll, Romans 3, 23 and 623.
I was giving them out to people.
I was just living as a Christian.
That is the foundation of calling.
Like some of you, you make calling so glorious.
Because American preaching, we make calling so romanticized, so glorious.
It got y'all feeling depressed.
You're always trying to figure out what I'm called to do. Man, you're called to have an intimate relationship with
Christ. You're called to be obedient to the scriptures. You're called to live in community.
You're called to love, pray, serve, and give. You're called to just be faithful one day at a time.
And anything beyond that, the Lord will reveal it to you he's a
good father he's not trying to hide his will for your life some of you watch
what is Lena called to do you think because she's not doing Evolve Woman's
Conference she's less of a woman
what if God called her to just be a mother who raised up world changers
is that enough for your American Christianity
Billy Graham my favorite preacher after Christ and Paul what was his mother's calling you don't
even know her name what if God called her to just raise a righteous
son who he would use to change the world is that enough for your american christianity no that's
not sexy enough what if god is going to just be a good parent how about start with the calling to
just be a good believer and stop glorifying all these things what am i called to do what am i called to do you know what
you're called to just be faithful to christ have an intimate relationship with christ love christ
love others obey what is already written and then watch and as you do that anything beyond that he
will reveal to you man i was doing all of that long before he talked to me about pastoral ministry
come on family i was loving on god and loving on people and serving in church
and giving tithes and offerings and telling people about jesus i was standing on park benches
preaching the gospel i was being a good witness i was dealing with my sin i was crushing my heart
i was dying daily like a suicide I was doing all that stuff long before
he said, I want you to pastor a church. Some of you, you're confused about calling because you
won't start on the ground. That if you just be faithful on the ground, all that fancy stuff,
man, he will reveal to you what he wants you to do. Man, he's a good father. He's a good father. He has your best
interests at heart. And if you just be a faithful believer on the ground, all that
other fancy stuff, whatever he has for you, he will walk you into it. don what is don called don is the best adjutant i've ever had what if this is what god is calling
to do to just rock with me until we've all broke until we gray and we and we sit in a wheelchair
well is that enough for your american christianity if don never stood on a microphone and preach is
that enough for your american christianity is he any less of a man because he's in a chair and I'm on a platform?
Is Don any less of a man or am I any greater of a man because he's in a chair and I got a microphone?
Am I a greater man than him?
I didn't even want this.
I ran from this for four years.
I'm so thirsty for all this American garbage that your heart's sick.
That's why you have no joy. You can't even celebrate the
small things that God is doing in your life because you've got all that American preaching
in you that keeps your eyes on the lights. So you can't even be thankful for the simple things in
life. I'm thankful that I got people around me who I believe really love me. I'm thankful for a godly wife and my four children.
I'm thankful for Don, the best adjutant I've ever had.
I thank you for Kenny, Pastor Kenny, who's been a right-hand man to me for 10 years.
I'm thanking for Elder Milton and Elder Eric and Carlina.
I thank you that I can talk to you.
I thank you that God saw fit to use me to do anything.
I'm going to be thankful for the meal I'm going to eat after this.
I just want to love Jesus.
I want to keep growing in prayer.
I want to read my Bible.
I want to be a faithful servant.
I want to be generous with my resources.
I want to love on other people.
I want to apologize and say I'm sorry. I want to love well and forgive well and suffer well and pray well and be faithful well.
Just do the simple things well.
Now keep listening to all that junk.
It's why your heart all messed up.
And you keep,
you're on your phone like this all day looking at what other people are doing
and then compromise come up,
or comparison come from your heart.
How come they got and I'm not?
And you don't understand,
all of that comparison is a thief.
It's an enemy.
It steals joy.
Just watch this. I know they don't like this there's me in
America come out of the lights watch what am I called to do and every time
you say that you're thinking about a stage just be a faithful believer on the
ground and just love Jesus and love people and be faithful watch if you just
do that if he has anything other than that for you,
he will reveal that to you.
So I want to pray for everyone in this room who feels confused about calling.
I want to pray for everyone whose heart is in a bunch about what am I supposed to be doing.
I want to pray for the person in this room who's far away from God
because if you die in your sin
man it's going to be more tolerable
than Sodom and Gomorrah than for you
you ain't heard truth like this
every head bowed, every eye closed
sit still
sit still sit still, sit still, sit still.
Heavenly Father, I pray the truth over these, your sons and daughters.
You call teenagers, you call people who are 80 80 you just want faithfulness on the ground
i pray first you will deliver them from strongholds
of bad thinking that has been built up in their mind
all the lies of bad american preaching
all the glorious things they think Christianity
is and it is not all the things that keep running after God that they can't
put their hands on and they don't have joy father I pray you would rob her from
them every lie that they believe I pray the truth of God's word would tear down every strong
hole in their mind. I pray every person confused about calling would stop worrying about what is
in the future and would just be faithful believers on the ground. Would you teach them to just love
you more than everything else? Would you teach them to just pray and talk to you? Would
you teach them to just open the scriptures and just read even if it's a verse a day?
Would you teach them to serve if they feel compelled to do that and to be generous with
the check that comes into their house to support the gospel with just a portion? Would you teach
them to love other people as they have been loved
and to forgive and to say I'm sorry and to be humble?
Would you teach them to be a good witness on their campus
and on their job and in the gym?
Would you teach them to just be good disciples
and to live in community?
Would you teach us to just be good followers of your son
and anything else you have for them that is specific? Lord, I pray at the right time,
in the right season, according to their maturity, their faithfulness, their willingness to submit to the process, you would reveal it to them when you are ready.
I pray now for a flood of just joy to come into this room.
Just the joy of salvation.
The joy of simplicity.
When we leave today, may we just be thankful for salvation. May maybe just be thankful for salvation will we
just be thankful for health will be be thankful for friends and family and
people we love we just be thankful that our names are recorded and heaven would
it be thankful for a church where the truth is being taught?
Would we just be thankful for people who love us?
Would we be thankful for the money we're going to use to buy a meal?
Would you just make us grateful for all of your blessings, Lord?
Please deliver us from this American garbage.
I pray for a flood of joy.
Just joy
and gratitude
to be released in their heart
that they would just
be thankful
that they belong to you
Jesus and that we know the end
of the story. We will get
crowns and glory.
Would you help them to be thankful that they don't walk through any valley alone even the troubles in this room you are with us in the middle of all of our
troubles there's no battle we fight on our own and now i'm talking to you, my brother and my sister.
You already know who you are.
You're a fraud.
You've been in church your whole life,
but you don't have a relationship with Jesus.
You know it.
You do religion, but you don't do relationship.
You're full of pride and arrogance,
and you are a sinner just like I am a sinner.
You've broken God's laws. You were born
in sin. You were born separated from God. You already had it for damnation. Your good behavior
is not going to get you to escape from that. But God in his love for you, my brother,
in his love for you, my sister, he loves you so much. he sent the Lord Jesus Christ into this world. More than a prophet,
more than Muhammad, more than Confucius, died a sacrificial death in the first century for you.
And then he says, if anyone would just put their faith in what Christ has done for you,
the Lord promised, I will save you. I will forgive you of all of your sin.
I will wash you from all of your past.
I will write your name in heaven.
I'll make you a brand new man,
a brand new woman. You walk out of here
today, my child. I'm already saving you
in your seat and you already know I'm talking
to you. You feel that tug in your belly.
If I'm talking to you,
you know the Lord is tugging you Christians are praying stop spectating
this is the most important moment of your life I can't save you ain't no fancy prayer is gonna
save you it's the sovereign work of God he's already working in your life I just want to see
who I'm talking to if I'm talking to you I see tears falling and the Lord is saving you right
there you feel something welling up in your belly like, Lord, I want to surrender.
I want to live for you.
I want to live a life of purpose.
I want to be your son.
I want to be your daughter.
I want to talk to you.
I want to go to glory.
Lord, I want all of you.
I want to be brand new.
I'm tired.
I'm fed up.
I'm weary.
I'm repenting right now.
If that's you on the count of three, I want you to throw up your hand.
I want to see what I'm talking to.
One, Jesus is calling you.
Two, he's doing the work right now in your seat.
Three, put your hand in the air.
I see that hand.
Keep it up.
I see that hand.
I see that hand.
I see that hand.

I see that hand. I see that hand. I see that hand. I see that hand. I see that hand. I see that hand.

your hand raised, I want you right now to do something gangster. The most brave thing you've
ever done in your life. Tell the person next to you, get out of my way. I want you to come down
here right now. Let me talk to you. Tell the person next to you, get out of my way. I want you to come down here right now. Let me talk to you. Tell the person next to you, get out of my way. Get out of my way. Come on. I saw
you with the hat on. Come on. I'm talking to you right there. Tell them, get out of my way.

important. They're not going to hell for you. Come on, run to me right now, run.
