A couple things I gotta touch before we jump into the proclamation of God's Word. Family, the scriptures make it clear, at least to me as a student, that we're probably navigating through the last days. I feel like the return of Christ is very near. I wouldn't even be shocked if the Antichrist is alive and somewhere in middle school. And for that reason, those of us who are aware, we need to be serious about the spread of the gospel, the spread of the message of Jesus in churches, across cameras. And one of the things that God is doing or has been doing is the planting of churches so that people can hear the gospel and family could be born okay we have partnership churches around

the country two of them in Florida one in Tampa called Designers Way Christian Church my brother there Ron Simmons Simmons. These are churches that we have supported financially. We pray for. We're trying to do everything we can to push out the gospel even beyond these four walls. This Sunday, next week, another partnership church with ours called New Creation Fellowship is going to be planted in Orlando Florida by my good friend part of my tribe of urban theologians dudes who are serious about the gospel from an urban context. Pastor Recap Gray, he preached for us back in November, a hardcore theologian and serious man of God. And him and his team are planting New Creation Church.

By this time next Sunday, a new church in partnership with us will be born in Orlando. And I want us to just take a moment and just offer just two seconds of prayer for him. I know I'm late, but I need to obey God's spirit. And my brother Recap, you can't see us. I don't even know what camera I'm on. But there's hundreds of people in here. We're about to lift up our faith for you and Brittany and your whole team. That the gospel is about to spread in the hood down in Florida and Paramore.

That souls are going to be saved and lives are going to be transformed. So he can't see you. I don't know what camera I'm on, but just stretch your hands like towards me as a sign of faith. And my brother, I'm taking their faith. I'm stretching it towards you right now across this camera. And we say in the name of Yahshua, the Lord who called us out of darkness into the marvelous light,

the one who filled us with his spirit and sent us back into these urban contexts to spread the gospel. Father God, we pray for ReCab and for Brittany and his team and for everybody who's part of the planting of New Creation Church. God, we pray for that church that it will flourish, that it will prosper and thrive in these last days in the name of Jesus. We pray many souls will be saved and disciples will be made in the name of Jesus. We pray sons and daughters

will come into the kingdom. Marriages will be born and restored and that that fellowship will be a light in the hood in Orlando in the name of Jesus. We pray you would draw to them, God, the great and the small, the young and the old,

the rich and the poor, the black and the white, the heathen and the believer. Give them every personal need and every financial need. We pray for a gospel explosion in Orlando in the name of Jesus. And that that church, New Creation Fellowship, would keep back decay in Atlanta, God. And be a city set on a hill in the name of Jesus. That brothers and sisters will walk through that door. They would hear the message of Christ and become new creations in Christ. We pray a blessing over New Creation Fellowship in the mighty and majestic and matchless name of our Lord and Savior.

The Sermon on the Mount is the first full-length sermon that was recorded by the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the most famous and the most powerful sermon ever preached in the history of the world. It has been studied by more people in the history of the world, both believers and unbelievers alike. It is life-changing. It is powerful. It is Jesus' words to his followers, those of you who belong

to Christ. It is his ethics, his kingdom codes for you and I, okay? And week one, we started off our series in week one with the Beatitudes, talking about blessed are they. He talked about makarios. When you live this way, you will flourish, you will prosper, you will thrive in God's eyes. Last week, he talked to you

about your kingdom identity, that you can choose whatever identity in the world you want, but in the kingdom, your identity has already been chosen for you you are salt you keep back decay and you are light you shine in darkness and in this text for all my um bible students my note takers we're going to be unpacking matthew chapter 5 verses 17 through 48 we're going to tag a title to this text just called Law and Order. Law and Order.

Eternal God and ever wise father this weekend I'll just lift you up and exalt you in the presence of your sons and daughters and we just thank you for this opportunity you give us to gather together we know that these days will come to an end soon you said that

we should do this all the more as we stay approaching we should not take for granted our opportunity to fellowship. Would you help me to communicate these eternal truths to your sons and daughters, my brothers and sisters? We thank you that we will be challenged, convicted, and changed. In Jesus' name. Amen. challenged convicted and changed in Jesus name Amen stay with me for just a second Frank before Frank comes down I just want to give you a disclaimer this is probably one of the most difficult messages in

the series so it's gonna get uncomfortable before we get out the room. And how can I put this? Sometimes that antiseptic is good for the soul. So there's some tough things I need to say today. But it's good for you anyway. Now say amen. Thank you, thank you all gentlemen. Law and order.

Family, I want to start this message by raising to your attention this powerful concept that we just call freedom. Freedom. The word freedom is a powerful concept that's built into the fabric or the framework of our constitution for the United States of America. It is built into the ethos of our culture and our secular environment. The word freedom is at the center of much of our preaching. We love to preach about being set free from all manner of burdens and oppressions and all these other things. For even Jesus himself preached about freedom saying that if you are truly my disciples, you would abide in my teaching. And if you stay in my teaching, you will know the truth. You know the rest of this and

the truth that you know will set you free and so even jesus taught about freedom and freedom is very powerful god wants us to be free he wants us not to be bound he wants us to have a type of liberty in our spirituality he wants us to be free from strongholds in the mind strongholds are not in the sky read corinthians correctly there are faulty thought patterns from strongholds in the mind. Strongholds are not in the sky. Read Corinthians correctly. There are faulty thought patterns that are built up in the mind. He wants those things to be torn down. And so God wants us to be free.

God desires, listen to me, God desires his people to be free, but not free from everything. I want to say this one more time. God absolutely desires for his people to be free, but he does not desire you to be free from everything. For there is one perversion of freedom that is not the will of God for you to be free from. And that is the false freedom that our warped desire keeps trying to find in what I call total autonomy. The idea that one can live completely free from any type of external governmental authority. It's the undercurrent that gives birth to statement like, don't care about the Bible you live your truth and we ain't trying to hear nothing God got to say that's the white man's religion to control black people so I'm trying to be free from the white man's religion I'm trying to have autonomy from the things

of God is this is this false freedom that says I'm completely divorced from any kind of external governmental authority. No one and nothing can tell me. Finish that. What to do? I have complete autonomy. Which is a type of perversion of freedom that God does not want you to be free from total autonomy is dangerous total autonomy is damaging total autonomy it is destructive total autonomy is so deceitful,

it causes one to believe that people can actually live independent, watch this, of the wisdom and constraints of laws. So like when we was driving here because we was late, we was at a stoplight and I looked over to my daughter Izzy. I said, Izzy, should I run this light? No cap. No cap. I was like, well done, EZ. I wonder what would have happened if I was by myself. I remember one time I asked somebody, if the Holy Spirit is in my car can I get into HOV Lane since it's he and I can I can I cross that undivided white line to

get into HOV since the Holy Spirit is my car technically is two of us since he's a person and not an it. But the truth is, our drive for autonomy, it deceives us to think that we can live without the wisdom and watch, the constraint of loss. Right? So it's my truth. I don't care what God got to say yeah try try giving a child total autonomy and see what kind of child you raise try that with a child try raising a child with no rules and see what kind of adult you get

try try living in a city with no judicial agency no police no judges no courtroom I hear some of y'all always screaming defund the police really I see some of y'all love blue love the left always screaming defund the police really you really want to live in a city with no police you ever been to Camden New Jersey like how many of y'all ain't never been in trouble and called 9-1-1 you know what it'd be like to live in a city with no agencies, no police, no government, no laws, no tickets,

no traffic lights. You know what that would be like? Try living in a society. Listen, don't try living in a world with, with nuclear armed nations with no global treaties and packs and global laws of, of warfare. Can I go deeper?

Try living in a society with no spiritual absolutes. There is no such thing as absolute truth. That's God over there and this is my truth over here. Don't exist. You want to know what's the end result of that kind of thinking unprecedented self-harm unprecedented harm of other people chaos moral decay and social and religious anarchy we might as well all strap up if you want to live in a society like that. I keep guns, but there's police. We might as well all strap up because what you're asking for when you have total autonomy is complete anarchy and chaos. When you're asking for

with total autonomy is for what? Unbridled hurt of your own self and the unbridled hurt of others like you feel there's something wrong when you get abused by somebody you love but if we got total autonomy I could do what I want to whoever I want and it does not matter I inflict harm on others I inflict harm on myself and if we have a society like that with no absolutes no truth no governmental and if we have a society like that with no absolutes no truth no governmental authorities man we create a society of anarchy and chaos

I'll prove to you God doesn't want us to live with total autonomy the first man he ever made Adam he put him in a garden he said look across the whole joint you see this crib that I just gave you yo you could go in any room you want eat whatever you want drink whatever you want bite from any fruit you want eat whatever seed you want yo you could do whatever you want except that one tree right there that tree right there of the knowledge of good and evil don't touch that tree for in the day you eat of it you shall

surely die so even in all the palatial freedom he gave adam he gave him one law don't touch this thing right there from the very beginning teaching man that you don't have the moral capacity for total autonomy you can't steward that gosh this might be too heavy you don't have you and i don't have the moral capacity to steward total autonomy so god in his wisdom gives us laws and restraints to keep you from hurting yourself and to keep you from harming others and to keep society from total chaos and anarchy. It is, watch this, his wisdom and his love to give human beings laws. We hate all those thou shalt nots. Watch this.

It is his wisdom and his love to give his children laws one of the best evidence of this is found that hundreds of years before Christ was born when a man named Abraham was the progenitor of the first Jewish race or to breathe the first man of the Jewish nation y'all know the history? They end up in Egypt, a family. They start having mad babies like black people and Puerto Ricans. They're putting it down. They got babies everywhere. There's no condoms. There's no contraceptive. They're dropping babies everywhere. They grow from a family to two million people in Egypt. The Pharaoh realizes man I gotta build things I need free labor I'm nervous he enslaved the Jewish nation like blacks was for 430

years watch babies born in slavery this gonna make sense in a second and then their children born in slavery and then watch and then their children born in slavery now you then watch. And then their children born in slavery. Now you have a perpetual generation of human beings who have a slave mentality. Gosh. He sends a man named Moses who was a stutterer. Because God can use you with your insecurities. and brings a nation of 2 million people out of slavery after 430 years, brings them to a mountain called Sinai, and the first thing he does is give them laws.

Gosh. Gosh. The first thing he gives them coming out of slavery watch this laws i just gonna make sense to you in a second the first thing he gives two million people coming out of slavery watch this two million people coming out of slavery with no rules or regulations for how to live amongst one another how to do marriage how to do friendship how to do business how to do offense

what you do when you mad at somebody else or i come home and i find somebody in my crib a nation of people that have no regulations the first thing he does is bring them to a mountain and he gives them laws. He starts with 10 that we call the 10 commandments. He gives them moral laws, ceremonial laws, judicial laws. The first thing he gives 2 million slaves in his love and his wisdom are laws to live by, to teach them how to do relationships, how to do business, how to do marriage, how to parent, how to farm, how to be generous, how to do business, how to do marriage, how to parent, how to farm, how to be generous, how to handle their money. If you go read it, he gives them laws and teach them how to worship, how to connect with God. In fact, if you read the 10 commandments, the first four laws is how to connect with God. The second six laws is how to deal with people. Without those laws, 2 million people got anarchy. Cats is killing cats and wiling out and stealing from people's cribs.

And I don't give a darn about what you got to say. I'm kicking open doors and I'm stealing your food and I'm taking your leaven and your yeast and your bread. I want your oil, your lamp, your parchments. I'm coming for everything. So he gives two million people laws to teach them, watch, how to live amongst themselves, watch, without killing themselves. Watch.

And for these atheists that be talking about there is no God, but yet you know murder is wrong. Like you ain't never seen a dead body on the street and there wasn't no judicial order for that dead body something in the heart of man even the unbeliever know that this is wrong see you can kill a jogger in the park a dog and a woman they don't care about that dog but they're going to look for the killer of the woman because even the atheist police know there's something wrong about leaving this dead white

woman in the park they put a tape around her dog and carry him to a field they're trying to find her killer the laws of god are even written the scripture says program into our humanity so i know like smacking the heck out of somebody well some of us that joining two program because i smacked that look some touch one of my kids or my wife. Pray for your pastor. I'm in my journey too. Why are you looking at me cross-eyed? You're so judgmental. You're so righteous and pious. Like everybody ain't got an issue in here.

Can I make a new law for 2019? In here it's okay to not be okay we all in process so God in his wisdom he gives them laws now watch now watch watch the genius of Jesus the the greatest preacher of all time he calls his followers to himself on a mountain. He looks out over the crowd, his disciples, and he starts to preach them this powerful sermon. He says to them, blessed are the poor in spirit, right? For theirs is the kingdom of heaven, right? Blessed are those who mourn, right? For they shall be comforted. Y'all remember this? Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. They shall be satisfied. Right? Remember this?

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Y'all remember this? Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart. They shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers. They shall be called the sons of god blessed are you when you're persecuted so he teaches them about all these blessings so at first he teaches them about

character watch this it's powerful so he starts the sermon by talking to them about your character when you live this way you flourish then he talks to them about your identity you are the salt and the light so he talks to them about your character in the kingdom watch then he talks to them about your identity you are the salt and the light so he talks to them about your character in the kingdom watch then he talks to them about their identity in the world and then he says to them now how am i going to anchor them to make sure that they can have character and stand on their identity what am i going to use to anchor them oh i know the bird the strongest foundation anywhere in the world i'm not just going to anchor them? Oh, I know. The bird. The strongest foundation anywhere in the world. I'm not just going to anchor them on philosophies and Google articles.

So I'm going to anchor them in the word. So the great teacher talks to them about character, talks to them about identity. And then the next thing he goes is 517. Do not think. God, so powerful. Now let me give you foundation to hold up your character and your identity because the only real foundation we have is the

word of God the laws of God so he says to them watch do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets that's a tagline for the whole Old Testament I have not come to abolish the law and the prophets that's a tagline for the whole old testament i have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them for truly this word in greek is i mean which means i solemnly

i solemnly say to you until heaven and earth pass away everybody watch not. Not an iota. What is that? Not a dot, the smallest letter, will pass from the law until all has been accomplished. This is so powerful. This, my brothers and sisters, I wish I had a whole week to unpack this. This is the most important statement in the entire sermon. Let me repeat that to you. For all my students, listen to me carefully. This is the most important statement in the entire sermon. And I'm going to tell you why. Jesus said to his followers, he talked to them about their character and about their identity. Now I'm about to ground your identity on a firm foundation. He said to them, because by the time Jesus is preaching this, watch,

the religious elite had perverted the moral laws of God and the laws of God. They have twisted them. They was in a society just like ours, but it had preachers preaching bad doctrine, twisting the scriptures, teaching people lies and heresies. So Jesus enters the scene in a culture where people are being fed lies and heresies. And he says to them, all that stuff y'all be hearing, do not think for one second that I came to abolish the law and the prophets. A tagline for the Old Testament. Pay attention. Every time you see law and prophets in the scriptures, they're talking about the Old Testament. Every time you see the word scripture in the New Testament, they're talking about the

Old Testament. Listen to you who like to throw out the Old Testament. When Jesus was alive, there was no New Testament. All they had was the Old Testament, Genesis to Malachi. I'm going somewhere with this. Watch. He said, don't think for one second I came to take that first half of the Bible and toss it out. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I came to fulfill it. I came to affirm it. I came to let you know it's not going anywhere. Watch. I came to raise the standard on y'all. Gosh. How does Jesus fulfill the Old Testament? The law and the promise. Listen, the whole Old Testament is a prophecy about Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, it's screaming the coming of Christ. From Genesis to Revelation is screaming the coming of Christ. From Genesis to Revelation is promising the coming of Christ. Everything in the Torah is all pictures

and signs and types of Christ. The temple in the wilderness was in the shape of a cross trying to give them a signal of Christ. Everything inside the temple was pointing to the righteousness of Christ. All the things the prophets were prophesying about was all pointing to the righteousness of Christ all the things the prophets were prophesying about was all pointing to Christ and so now when he came on the scene he says that stuff y'all been reading now is fulfilled in my coming I am the walking living embodiment of all the old testament all the stuff you've been reading for hundreds of years and teaching your children for hundreds of years. I am he now. I am the complete fulfillment of the moral law so high in the standard you can't keep it, so I got to keep it for you so that when I die, I can take my righteousness from the cross and

give it to you. Take your unrighteousness and nail it to the cross so that when God sees you, he doesn't see you through good behavior. sees you through the blood of Jesus this is how you can keep messing up and saying Lord forgive me and it's over some of y'all not even thankful that he fulfilled the law let me let me tell you how thankful I am let me tell you how thankful I am anybody sinned in the last seven days yeah a bad thought lie cut somebody out anybody i have bad thought yeah imagine without christ every time you messed up you had to kill an animal i want you to think about this let's let's go judicial laws every time you messed up you had to slay an animal and shed blood there'll be be no stray cats. There'll be no stray dogs. People will be hiding their pets.

We'd be running out of pets. I want you to think about a world where every time you committed a sin, you had to kill an animal. That's judicial laws. That got nailed. That got fulfilled when Christ came. Y'all don't need to do that no more. I am the fulfillment of that now. I'm the last lamb that got to be slain. Yo, I'm the last lamb that got to be slain, yo. Y'all ain't got to slay another lamb for the rest of your life. Now instead of slaying lambs, I just talk to one. I ain't got to find no sheep that shed no blood.

I just talk to one. Jordan ain't the goat. Jesus is the goat. The greatest of all time is a lamb, not a goat. Yo, I got three dogs. And for the stuff that be going on in my mind and your mind, they wouldn't even last two months in my house. They would have been slain. Bodies in the backyard. Orlando would have been back there slain first so Jesus said watch I come to fulfill the law watch i am the embodiment of the whole law watch

what he says look everybody watch me look look at the text he says not one dot not one iota i don't know what that is these are greek words for hebrew things that says listen an iota and a dot in hebrew writings the parchments the original scrolls of Bible, this would have been equivalent to an English like a period. Watch this. A comma, a colon, a semicolon. Look what God was saying. Every paragraph, every chapter, every sentence, every verse, every period, comma, and colon, all of it was inspired by God all of it matters if you read the sentence and there's a comma in there God put the comma in there to make you think about the text every period every dot every shot every comma every exclamation mark when you see that that means Jesus was

mad about what he said it's all in there inspired by God and watch what he said watch what he said Jesus said's all in there, inspired by God. And watch what he said. Watch what he said. Jesus said, watch this. Heaven and earth will pass away first before anything in that Bible pass away. I'm about to go some of this. He said, all this foolishness about the Bible's not fake. The Bible's fake. It's the white man's religion. It's trying to control people. That's what man said. Listen what Jesus said I'm gonna take his word over your word. I'm talking to you. I'm gonna take his word over your word He said listen y'all can say what you want post what you want, write what you want, blog what you want Heaven and earth is gonna pass away first

Before my word passed and when it's all said and done the only thing that's gonna remain is the truth of my word That I exalt above my own name. He said it's never going to pass away. It's more sure than the ground under my foot. It can be trusted. It can be believed. It can be stood on. The Quran is going to pass away. The Pearl of Great Price is going to pass away. The Book of Mormon is going to pass away. Every religious writing is going to pass away, and only one is going to be remaining when it's all said and done. The most read document in the history of the world, the document that has conquered nations and transformed generations, living breathing inherent eternal words

of the Living God Almighty his revelation of himself to mankind his thoughts his ways his loves his hates his attributes his promises everything we know about God his way dealing with human beings throughout history what he will do and will not do that's why he needs to listen to bad preaching I can't just stand up here tell you God's fitting to do and he's fixing to do and he's fitting to do but it ain't in the word. He ain't finna do nothing that's not in his word. I'm in the South, right? He ain't finna do nothing that's not in his word.

Ain't fixing to do, finna to do, about to do nothing that's not in his word. Because he's not going to violate his principles for you and your emotions and your tears yeah listen what he said watch this watch heaven and earth is going to pass away all them other books y'all believe it not they're going to pass away the united states is going to pass away

right all these things are going pass away governments are gonna pass away Rome came and passed away Persia came and passed away the United States is dead now is gonna pass away everything's gonna pass when it's all burned to the ground the only thing that's gonna remain is the truth of God's Word I remember hearing a story about a dude who had a Bible sitting on his table for his restaurant. Some anarchist came in there

and burned down his restaurant. The whole joint crumbled to dust and when they cleared the dust, the only thing that wasn't burned was the word. Fire all around it, the word untouched. God says, I exalt this above my own name it could be believed I don't believe it was written by men I cool cool it was

written by men yeah let me tell you who wrote it 40 men 39 Jews and one non-jew they lived over a period of 1500 years that means some of them was born before the others died and some died before the others was born they lived on three different continents they spoke three different languages and yet from Genesis to Revelation there's a unity of thought that's an impossibility apart from the inspiration of God Almighty you can't get 20 people in a room and tell them write an essay about one topic and get agreement I'll put 20 of y'all in a room and give you a topic. Let's write about marriage. We're not going to get agreement.

Let's write about singleness. We ain't going to get agreement. Let's write about the market. We ain't going to get agreement. I'll put 20 of y'all in a room and give you one topic. You can't get agreement. 1,500 years, 40 men, three continents, three languages, complete agreement. God even led the council of men to take the books.

What about the book of Enoch? It ain't inspired. It's not in there. What about the book of Thomas? What about the lost books? The ones that are inspired, they in here. Down to the maps. Anything between the maps is God's word.

Watch this. between the maps is God's word watch this you know how serious Jesus takes this look at look at verse 19 that the word can't be broken therefore because of all that I just told you whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments dang it yo this is heat all right he said since this thing is so powerful whichever one of y'all teachers trying to tone it down trying to make it palatable for itching ears, trying to make people comfortable in chairs. God forbid you offend somebody by telling them the truth. Whoever, whichever one of you watch relaxes even the least of these commandments

and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever teaches them and whoever does them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. So he's telling you, you're concerned to know it and to teach it to other people. You don't need a mic and a platform to tell somebody, thus says the Lord. You can do that in a squad, on Zoom, in a post, on social media, with your children. He says, know it and teach others to do the same also. And when you do that, even though you got 20 people following you, in my eyes, you are great

in the kingdom of heaven. Now, whose eyes you want to be great in? Just the eyes of men or the eyes of God? So why we keep propping up people that be relaxing his word though? So we should be asking ourselves, who are the scribes and Pharisees and what was their righteousness? The scribes and the Pharisees were the elite of the day.

And the people, watch, were envious of them because in their minds they think if you ascribe if you a pharisee this is our models these are our role models for righteousness these men who were perverting god's laws and relaxing god's laws and trans and changing god's laws and watch what they were doing because oh my gosh because yeah we live in this culture right now. Watch this. These men were creating their own laws and calling it the laws of God. Now y'all have been exposed to this right now. People who preach things from the pulpit and strap you with heavy burdens and say this is God's laws.

Like you can't wear pants if you're a woman. Can't have an air raid. Can't wear makeup. You can any worship on the Sabbath or Saturday. You create all these man-made laws to choke the life out of people, and then you put God's name on that. Am I talking to a church? We live in this time right now. When we listen to people who create man-made traditions you grew up in churches like this man-made traditions that strap heavy burdens to your life that you can't even fulfill them and then they put God's name on them and they not in the book that boy

Amen. Only what comes out of a man defiles him. This is bad teaching. The whole letter of Galatians is about this. Y'all be strapped with all these traditions and religion and all this stuff that God didn't even tell you to do. You be, listen, some of y'all be grieving your own self over God ain't even mad at okay I got nine minutes y'all be happy I got nine minutes I mean I see some women that be so sad for them man Man, they wearing dresses their whole life.

And I got this to you okay listen to me jesus said to them i did not come to tone down the word but to raise the standard i came to push back against the bad teaching of your day i came to let you know you can't relax the word of god there's your foundation i gave you these laws watch this watch i'm almost done i gave you these laws. So because he's talking to people who are perverted in their minds by bad doctrine, he gave them six illustrations of bad doctrine. Too often we just focus on the illustration instead of seeing what

he's trying to say underneath them together. And this is where I didn't understand this eight years ago. So it's all a connected, it's like, it's like giving somebody a principle and then here are six examples of my principle. Can I read to you the six examples and then pray for you? So listen to the six examples he gave them of bad teaching. He says to them in Matthew chapter five, verse 20, verse 21. Can I read them to you? All right. Six illustrations of bad teaching. So he's using these as examples of bad teaching because they were prevalent in the day.

You was heard that it was said of all, you shall not murder and whoever murders will be liable to judgment. But I say to you that anyone who was angry with his brother will be liable to judgment. Whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council. And whoever says you fool will be liable to the council and whoever says you fool will be liable to hell fire so Jesus is saying you've heard it said before that you shall not kill yeah he said don't kill but also don't kill people in your heart with hate it's gonna make sense to you in a second that is not enough to just not take a life but don't kill people in your heart with hate. To kill people with hate in his eyes is the same as murder.

Watch. He was saying, don't insult people to the point of holding hatred. That's evidence of unrighteousness that leads to damnation. So he says, so if you're offering your gift at the altar, verse 23, remember your brother has something against you. Leave your gift at the altar. First go be reconcil 23 remember your brother has something against you leave your gift at the altar first go be reconciled to your brother then come and offer your gift to the altar come to terms quickly with your accuser while you're going with him to court let your accuser hand you over to the

judge and the judge hand you over to the guard and the guard put you in prison truly i say to you you will never get out until you paid the last penny. So what Jesus is saying, listen, when you have visceral conflict with other people, whether you are the offender or the victim, just do your part to make things right. Watch what he says. He says, because when you hold hate in your heart, you put your own self in a prison and you'll never get out that prison until you release that hate so watch y'all listening to people only talking about murder now watch i'm trying to tell y'all about the condition of your heart

y'all pharisees y'all be listening to only focus on external religion. Y'all look good on Sunday, but your heart is wicked. Your edges is laid and your hair is slayed. Your outfit is dope and you say amen and bless the Lord, but your heart is wicked. I want more than your external behavior. I'm trying to get to the core of your heart. That's the whole point. Y'all bad teaching only focused on good behavior. God ain't after your behavior first.

Can I tell you something? The New Testament is not after your behavior first. You read it wrong. It's after your heart. If your heart gets transformed, your behavior follows. That's why he's pushing back against man-made regulations. Watch. Because religion tries to change man from the outside in. Jesus changes people from the inside out.

That's why you should stop hating on the prostitute who's now coming to church. And stop hating on the dude who's smoking weed and now coming to church. And stop hating on the person that's cursing who's now coming to church. You're trying to put your laws, your man-made regulations on them. Let them come to church and curse. Let her come to church and curse. Let them come to church and get back on the pole tomorrow. Let God work in her heart,

his heart, until their behavior change. Come on, man. That's man-made. The Lord ain't never tell nobody, get your life right, then come to me. He never said that. Fix your life.

What verse am I on? 27. It's just six examples. Here's the second one. It's just five of them left. 27. You've heard that it was said of all, you shall not commit adultery.

But I say to you that everyone that looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Now watch. He, he, listen, listen. He's saying it's not enough just to be wilding out while you married. He said, stop having optical intercourse with everything while you're married. He says, so what? you're sleeping with something. He said, I want you to work on that. If you work on that, it'll transform everything else. I don't know if I should say this. Like, like, can we be honest about lust? Like, that's, I know that's an everything problem, but that's more of a man problem,

really? Yeah, we all struggle, especially brothers, right? We all sometimes see something and, man, we feel some type of way. Like damn, that, that, that negro. Ooh, he, tall, darker Chuck oh oh oh oh oh we all we all struggle right some of y'all I know some of y'all in here praying lord take lust away from me and he might not he might not you're gonna see some hips and some lips you're gonna see some tall darker hand he might not take

right so he says if you're right eye causes you to sin tear it out if you're if for it's better to lose one of your members than your whole body to be thrown into hell if your right hand causes you to sin cut it off throw it away for it is better for you to lose one of your members than your body to be thrown into hell like Jesus is not advocating for self-mutilation. He's just saying, whatever is hurting you, get rid of it. A relationship is causing you hell. Yo, it's making you wild out and sit. Yo, cut that person off. The app is messing you up. Cut it off. This dude right here, mess you up. Cut them off. She tearing you down. Cut it off.

You take this bad teaching and strap that on every person who's been divorced and condemn them for a divorce because you don't understand context. Like I taught you about my journal. He did not say this to condemn people who had a divorce.

In the time this happened, men were frivolously throwing away wives for anything, following two rabbis who had quote unquote better teachings than Jesus. So this culture was rampant with divorce for any little thing. And all the Lord was saying, man, unless you really have to get out, stop throwing them away for no reason. And do not take an oath at all by your head, for you cannot make one hair black or white. But let what you say just simply be yes or no. Anything more than that comes from the evil one. on your job you want to move up go above especially black people stop doing the minimum to get by stop doing the minimum be people of excellence go the extra mile fix it make it right do it with excellence stop doing just enough to get Go the extra mile. So an eye for an eye. Listen, watch. In context, this was for the courtroom. It was for handling judicial disputes. And what the Pharisees did, they took something from the court and brought it into their personal relationships to say, if somebody do something to me, I'm going to get you back. But in its proper context, read the Old Testament, it was for the courts. It was for the judicial system. It was not meant for personal relationships. It was not meant for vengeance back and forth. So the Lord is saying, don't take what was meant

for the courts to decide and just be in the streets revenging one another don't do that vengeance is mine says the lord some matter of the heart and then look at the last one and we're done and you heard that it was said you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy but i say to you love your enemies pray for those who persecute you i do this all the time so that you may be called enemies. Pray for those who persecute you. I do this all the time. So that you may be called the sons of your father who is in heaven. For he makes, everybody watch.

Watch this. He makes the son to rise on the evil and on the good. So God blesses people that don't even know him and he sends rain on the just and the unjust God is amazing now watch let's close watch this watch verse 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that. And if you greet only your brother, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same. You therefore must be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. So he's saying like, look, if you only love people

who's easy to love, you don't get no props for that. Can you love someone who is difficult to love? He's saying your neighbor, he said, don't hate your neighbor. They turn neighbor into like people they don't like. So he said, you just hate anybody. He said, nah, don't hate people and don't just love people who's in your squad. I want you to learn to love people that agitate you. When I see you loving people who are difficult to love, you get mad props from me. You don't get no reward for loving somebody

who's easy to love. So stop hating on each other in the church. Stop hating on everybody that offends you and piss you off and you holding grudges and grievances.

Like the Lord is watching that and saying, you're this big Christian. You don't get no props for that. I said, you're this big Christian. You don't get no props for that. You only love people who don't rub you wrong. I'm watching to see how you handle this person that makes you feel some type of way. Can you love that person though?

I love all kind of people that piss me off. Can you love family members that piss you off? Can you love brothers and sisters in Christ who rub you wrong and piss you off? Like, you don't get no props. Oh, this little group right here, they don't give me no problems. Love them. Cool. The reward comes when you can love outside of that group. The person that agitates you.

Like this whole thing is so dope to me because all Jesus is saying, all that external stuff y'all be doing. Look right at me. I'm closing. The the Lord all this external stuff we be doing trying to appear more religious than other people lost that stuff don't impress me what the Lord is really impressed with is the condition of our hearts and he says the foundation for training your heart is the word of God here is your character the Beatitudes here is your identity saw in light here is the foundation for how you hold that up the Word of God the laws of God the things

that I gave you to train your heart and righteousness so that you don't have watch complete autonomy from the Word of God that's one freedom you don't have what complete autonomy from the word of God that's one freedom you don't get that freedom off the table from you the freedom to be autonomous from the wisdom of God and the laws of God and the Word of God and the teachings of God and the truth of God I took that off the table from you you don't get autonomy from that I gave you these for wisdom to train your heart to be wise and righteous what i'm after is your heart not just your good behavior look at me brothers this is why unbelievers don't want to come and gather they don't want to go to church their issue is less with god and more with the people that represent him

because we hyper religious but our hearts are messed up and what the lord is saying listen true faith in me doing this for real is not all your external behaviors and you went to church and you sing on a team and you serve in the pool all this extra yo thank god for all that but what i'm really looking at is the condition of your heart towards other people. The faith is a matter of the heart. So Jesus came to exalt his word. And said, man, this thing trains you for your heart. And if we're going to have any foundation for character and identity, it has to be found in

this word that trains our heart, so one of the wisest things you could ever do is keep submitting that to God, and all of your mistakes, and all of your failures, all your insecurities, all you just keep submitting your, Lord, my, and look, just keep it, Lord, my heart is dark, help me here, I'm struggling with lust, help me there, I'm struggling with hate, help me here, just keep it real. Lord, my heart is dark. Help me here. I'm struggling with lust. Help me there. I'm struggling with hate. Help me here. Just keep telling him what's in your heart. It's like there's nothing you hide in there. He doesn't know any way.

The Lord is for you and not against you. He wants to help you and not crush you. So he's trying to do the MRI on your heart. And if we're going to have real faith, it can't just be all this pious behavior that make people think you're more holier than other people. When he's really looking at the condition of your heart.

So Jesus is saying, man, if you're going to serve me and walk with me and do church and do squads and do all this stuff, man, what I really want from you is a faith born of the heart. That law of mine brings order to the heart. That's what this whole thing is about. It's about the heart. True righteousness begins in the heart.

God is for you. He wants to help deal with your heart. Now, I want to pray for everyone in here who has adders of the heart. God is for you. He wants to help deal with your heart. religion that makes us more holy or more pious than others, but you help us to have a faith that is born of the heart. Help us to keep pursuing you to have a purer heart. Help us to have righteousness, not in just good deeds and behavior but righteousness in the heart and now father i pray for every one of my brothers and sisters who's dealing with some issue in their heart some insecurity some problem with another person some issue with a spouse some issue with a friend some torment of the heart some some pride, some arrogance, some stone, whatever it is. I pray God right now in the name of Jesus, you would work and move in the depths of my brother and my sister's heart. We pray God for a transformation right now of a heart. We pray right now for the healing of a heart.

We pray right now for the resuscitation of a heart. We pray faith would come to a heart. Belief would come to a heart. Confidence would come to a heart. Joy would come to a heart. Hope would come to a heart. Forgiveness of self would come to a heart. Forgiveness of self would come to a heart. Condemnation would be released from a heart.

I pray love would flood a heart. Forgiveness would flood a heart. Mercy would flood a heart. Desire would flood a heart. And I pray, Father, we would not just be men and women of external actions, but we would have a righteousness

that is born of the heart. I pray for law and order in our hearts right now in Christ's name. And while heads are bowed and eyes are closed i'm talking to you my brother i'm talking to you my sister your heart is wicked it is dark it is sinful because god says the thing that is most wicked is the heart and from it flows all the issues of life and my brother my sister your biggest issue is not that you got problems with somebody that you know.

Your biggest issue is that you got a problem with God. You've done religion, but you have not done relationship. You don't really belong to God. He sees you creeping in and out of these gatherings, but you don't belong to him. And my brother, my sister, here is the scriptures. Here is the gospel. We all have sinned. We all have messed up.

We all made mistakes. Even the person with the microphone. And the scripture says, listen to me. If you die in your sin, if you die in a car accident on the way home and you're not under the blood, you're going to be separated from God for all eternity. You said, preacher, I don't believe that. Die and find out. Hell, you're not ready for hell. But God in his love, not wanting you to perish, sent his son, the Lord Jesus, into the earth. And he says, if anyone would just keep it real, no cap, put your faith in me. Ask for forgiveness. I will forgive you of your sins.

I will wipe away your past like Malachi. I'll make you my son, my daughter. You can leave out of here today a brand new man, a brand new woman. It ain't no magic pixie dust. This is what God was trying to do in you before the foundation of the world. He already knew you would be here in this moment. My brother, my sister, he's calling you. He's calling you to a life of purpose.

He's calling you to be a son or daughter. He's calling you to be fully loved fully forgiven fully known for me this happened in 2003 over a toilet seat in a bathroom I'm talking to you sister you already know who you are I'm talking to my brother you already know who you are I want to pray for you I see hands going up already I want to pray for you you want to leave here say I want to be a son and daughter God I feel him already stirring in my heart I already know God is saving me right now in my seat. let their hearts be filled with the graces of the Beatitudes teach them that they are salt and light. They belong to you in this moment. You knew that they would be here before the foundation of the world. Man can't save them. This is a supernatural act of the Holy Spirit. All 27 of them, God. I pray, God, Lord, you would draw them to yourself. You would help them to feel a freedom from the condemnation of their past. And I thank you that today is the beginning of the rest of their lives. Now, Father, you said when one sinner repents, all of heaven rejoices. So, Father, right now we rejoice.
