Well, grandmothers and mothers, all of our guests, welcome to 2819 Church.
Everybody watch me right now online, our entire online family watching in cities
around the country and a few pockets around the world.
We are in the back half of a series called Kingdom Gems.
We are in the last three weeks of a series called Kingdom Gems, and it is exactly that.
These are gems.
We are studying line by line, verse by verse, the full length sermon of the Lord Jesus Christ giving on a hillside just outside the city of Jerusalem.
Affectionately called the Sermon on the Mount.
And I'm going to say this for the last three weeks.
I'm going to shout this from the rooftops.
A lot of us, man, we are frustrated with the state of our our lives and i don't know how to tell you this any other way
we are trying to build lives outside of the wisdom of god's word
and then we keep scratching our heads why things are not working i want to say to you as a pastor
and as a teacher that the sermon on the mount if you read it and reread it
and obey it it is a blueprint listen for the best life possible in the eyes of god
if you want to flourish in your mind in your heart in your relationship in your finances
the sermon on the mount is the blueprint, the architect,
the manual for the best life possible
in the eyes of God.
Not in the eyes of the world,
in the eyes of God.
And so we are in the final three weeks
of a series called Kingdom Gems.
And for all my note takers
we're going to be unpacking today Matthew chapter 7 verses 15 through 20
Matthew chapter 7 verses 15 through 20.
And for this corpus of scripture, for this periscope of God's word,
we're just going to tag a title to this text and we're going to call it Beware of These.
Beware of These.
Let's pray.
Eternal God and ever wise Father,
we thank you, Lord,
for first all of the mothers and grandmothers,
the generational matriarchs
of the churches,
of the body,
of families.
Just pray that they would all
feel loved and honored today
first by you, by your presence
and by those of us who are in the earth who love them.
I know today they're not going to hear a Mother's Day message
but they are going to hear the teaching of your word.
Lord, in my weakness
and in my sickness
I appeal to you for strength and for help
before these brothers and sisters I appeal to you as earnestly as I can that
you would open their eyes that you would agitate their hearts and that you would minister to them as your word goes
forward
this uncomfortable and awkward truth for Mother's Day yet you taught it you
wanted us to know it and so I pray you'd help me to expound upon it. In your mighty name I pray. Amen. Amen. Thank you Frank. Beware of these.
A family in the early days of my walk with the Lord Jesus, maybe around the mid 2000s or early 2000s,
there was a man of God who came to me and shared with me a story about a church that invited
a very popular preacher on a Caribbean island to come and preach at their church.
This man of God supposedly came and he preached at this church. This man of God. Supposedly came.
And he preached at this church.
He preached the first night.
At this church in the Caribbean.
At a very popular island.
He preached the first night.
Took up the offering.
And went back to his hotel.
He came back the next day.
And he preached the second night.
He took up the offering.
He went back to his hotel.
On the third night. He came. He preached. But before he took up the offering he went back to his hotel on the third night he came
he preached but before he took up the offering at the end of his message he
lifted up his shirt in front of the entire congregation and all his chest
was a satanic tattoo and he took the last few moments of that preaching segment to mock the church and to mock the leaders
of that church to show them how easy it was for a satan worshiper to slip into their pulpit
it created an uproar in that church it created an uproar in that church. He created an uproar in that community. And that Satan worship went on
mocking that church for how easily he was able to get into their midst.
What did the leaders of that church lack? Discernment. And while some of us will judge
those leaders and judge that church on the island of Jamaica. If I can be honest with you,
the exact same thing in subtle ways is happening right now all across this nation.
It's happening right now in pulpits this Sunday morning as I'm talking to you.
It's happening across YouTube and in podcasts and in conferences and in conferences, and group me's, and group chats, and group texts all across this nation.
People listening across this camera.
The exact same thing is happening all across this nation.
That for some of you in this room, for some of you watching across the camera, all of us, man, some of us have been guilty of this very same thing that for a lot of us we are playing around with the health of our soul and the direction of our lives because we keep lending our ears and our heart to wrong voices.
People we call friends.
People we call preachers.
People we call evangelists apostles and prophets we keep
lending our ears to wrong voices and some and subconsciously we don't realize man we are we
are playing around with the health of our soul and Lord God Almighty, who throughout the scriptures have been given many titles.
God is holy.
God is faithful.
God is merciful.
But of all the titles God has been given, perhaps one of the greatest titles God has ever been given was written to us by aged apostle named John when he said God is love
and all of God's dealings with human beings is motivated by love
and in his earthly ministry all the dealings of Jesus with human beings was motivated by love
and one of the greatest outgrowths or offshoots or byproducts
of love is the desire for those who love people to watch protect those they love from danger.
We see this in devoted mothers who try to protect their children from danger.
We see this in devoted fathers who try to protect their children from danger we see this in
devoted fathers who try to protect their children from danger we see this in the
Lord Jesus Christ who's done everything he can to try to protect his children
his people from danger this is what's behind the heart of the Lord Jesus when
he gives us this furious command born out of love
an attempt to protect you and I from danger so you know where we are right now the Lord Jesus
is seated on a hillside in front of him are thousands of people they've been following him
because of his miracles and his teaching. He climbs up this hillside.
He sits down.
He begins to teach them what we have been studying called the Sermon on the Mount.
He teaches them the Beatitudes, what we would just call kingdom character.
He teaches them salt and light, what I would call kingdom identity.
He teaches them about the word, what i would call your kingdom foundation he teaches them
about kingdom discipline about fasting praying and giving he teaches them about kingdom stewardship
about storing up treasures in heaven he teaches them about kingdom soul care we like that word
not massage envy the scriptures he teaches them about kingdom soul care when he
says don't be anxious for nothing he teaches them about dealings with other people about right
judgments and wrong judgments he teaches them about being aggressive and asking seeking and
knocking then he teaches them about the golden rule on how to deal with each other and then after on
now watch on the heels of all of that jesus looks at them and he demands of them what he demands of
you and i and that is my sermon is too salient too powerful too serious for just an amen and
friendly platitudes no now that you have heard
everything that I taught you, I demand from you a decision. Everybody listen to me. I'm serious
this morning. Listen, after Jesus taught the sermon on the mount, after I've shed all these
months teaching you the sermon on the mount, what Jesus demands from you and I is what
he demanded of the people of this day. Not an amen, but he demands from you a decision to either
follow the ways of the Pharisees down a broad road or follow the narrow road of discipleship.
It's not enough to just hear my words and go and get your Mother's Day meal. I want from all of you a decision on what you plan to do with the Sermon on the Mount.
So he says to them in Matthew chapter 7 verse 13.
He says to them, now that you have heard everything I said to you.
He says to them, enter by the narrow gate.
For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction
and those who enter by it are many that is the crowds of the world there are millions of people
on the broad gate there are entrepreneurs on the broad gate there are influencers on the broad gate
athletes on the broad gate on the broad way they are loved ones on the
broad way family members on the broad way there are people who've been in
church their whole life on the broad way
there are people who think that was baptized as a baby on the broad way he
says before the gate is narrow and the way to life is hard that leads to life
or the way is hard that leads luck life and those who find there are few.
Now, family, look right at me.
Jesus talks about these two gates, talks about these two ways and these two permanent endings.
And the truth be told, in his day and in my day, you know what's standing right outside of those gates?
Voices.
Voices are standing outside those gates. They were standing outside those gates in the
first century. They're standing outside those gates right now. On one side are the voices
that are leading people down the broad way. They're telling you God is love. God is grace.
God is kindness. Don't worry about sin. Don't worry about the stuff that you're doing. Don't
worry. God knows your heart. Man followed this way. Man made rules, man made doctrines, all of the Pharisees and the religiously
those voices pointing people down the gate of the Broadway. They're standing outside the gate right
now. And then the other side of the gate are the real preachers that are trying to lead people
down the narrow way of discipleship. So they step on your toes every now and then they
tell you things you don't want to hear every now and then they confront you about your sin every
now and then man you hear teachings that get in your face every now and then
but the lord jesus watch and his love and furious protection for his followers wanted to bring watch attention to the group on the left
side not the right side of favor the voices that were trying to lead people down the broad way
through those broad gates so he gives them this furious command everybody listen carefully the
lord is looking at thousands of people who they will head down the broad way of a life of ease and end up in damnation separated from God.
He sees the voices standing outside the gates and in an act of love and protection, he gives them the only warning in the Sermon on the Mount.
How many warnings?
The only warning in the Sermon on the Mount.
Listen to his warning as he's landing the plane on his sermon Matthew chapter 7 verse 15 beware
beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
So what he's saying that the most dangerous threat to the ears of real believers are the
voices of fake ones. Let me, let me, let me go over here. That the most dangerous threat to the
ears of real believers are the voices of fake ones. And so i want to use the passage today to bring your attention to five
things i made them all a's so it'll be easy for you to remember for my note takers the first a i
want to talk to you about is called the awareness of false prophets okay the awareness of false prophets that is like yo wake up yo watch false prophets exist
the word false prophet is a very serious term it's not it's more than a term we just hurl as
an insult at preachers we don't like or we try to slip into somebody's comments and because they
said something we don't like we post in in their comments, you are a false prophet.
So the word false prophet is more than just an insult.
It's more than something we put in the comments.
No, false prophets actually exist.
The nation is filled with false prophets.
They're in pulpits right now.
This Mother's Day morning, right now as I'm talking to you, this Mother's Day morning, there are false prophets standing in pulpits right now. Right now as I'm talking to you,
this Mother's Day morning, there are
false prophets standing in pulpits.
They're on YouTube.
They're on podcasts.
They're writing books.
They're doing conferences.
They're in group
chats.
They're in text messages.
They might be on your row.
They exist.
And the truth is, for some of us who are very ignorant,
if you take all the preachers, all the teachers, all the apostles,
all the prophets, all the evangelists,
if you take everyone who feels called to communicate and put them
in an arena, in that
room will be the voices of those God
has chosen
and the voices of those the devil
has influenced.
They are not
only in the room, they're in churches,
they're on television, they're
on radio, they're everywhere in America. on television they're on radio they're everywhere
in america this united states is saturated with the voice of false prophets
so the lord wanted his people watch to be aware of false prophets so he gives them this one command
he says watch be aware of false prophets let Let's talk about this word, beware.
This word, beware, is a very strong word.
In the original language, this is an imperative, a command from Jesus.
It's not a suggestion.
It's not an option.
It is a command.
It is the Lord shouting from you through the pages of eternity beware of false prophets
like watch look out for them be cautious of them be discerning of them keep your eyes open for them
like i'm from new york right and in new york like you'll be going in people's yards like you're
gonna go see your homeboy and people be having these signs on the gate that says, beware of dog.
Anybody ever seen these?
Right?
And as soon as you see it, what do you do?
You stop.
You pause.
Watch.
You don't open the gate and walk in past a sign that says, beware.
Man, there might be a pit bull on the other side of that gate.
There might be a rottweiler on the other side of that gate.
So when we see the words beware and orange on a sign, the first thing that we think to us is what?
Danger.
Watch. Can I go further?
If I cross this sign, I might get hurt.
Yeah.
So Jesus says beware.
Imperative in the original language warning beware of false prophets why
because they exist so he wants us to be aware of them they're in churches they're in conferences
they're writing books they're on youtube he says I want you to be aware of them i want you to know them spot them look out
for them be cautious of them i would even say run from them turn down your ears from them guard your
heart from them right which brings us to the second a i want to use in the text he says be
aware of the false prophets so that is awareness the second a is the appearance of false prophets
the appearance of false prophets the lord jesus says watch they come to you in sheep's clothing
now i want you to notice what the lord said it It's so powerful, right? He said in verse 15, you can put it back up there.
They come to you.
Watch.
You don't have to find them.
False prophets come to you.
They find you.
The apostle John wrote words like this.
They slip in among you.
They come into churches, right?
They slip in among brothers and sisters.
They slide into your DMs.
They slide into your text messages.
They slide into your algorithm.
They slide into your YouTube.
He said they come to you.
You don't have to find them.
A false prophet will always find people and make them listen but I want you to notice the
appearance of the false prophet he says they come to you how in sheep's clothing
now historically sheep's clothing sheep's clothing was worn by shepherds so they could watch
identify with sheep they would take the outer garment of a sheep and put it on themselves
so when they come among sheep they would be identified as a sheep jesus says watch false prophets they come to you
in sheep's clothing now let's talk about sheep and clothing this word sheep is a metaphor for you
it's a metaphor for the people of god
and i don't know if you ever studied sheep sheep are the most unintelligent animals
God calls you sheep and he calls me sheep and they are among some of the most unintelligent
animals in the animal kingdom what else do we know about sheep? They have no natural defense mechanism against predators.
It's why they need shepherds to protect them.
When sheep come into a pack, they are known to nip at each other all the time.
Nip, nip, nip, nip, nip, nip, nip, nip.
And if one sheep jumped off a cliff the other sheep would follow sound like the american church to you
and i've been to israel and i've seen shepherds with sheep this is why they will have a stick
they will beat off threat with the stick they would beat off threat with the stick. They will beat off threats with the stick.
They will beat off threats with rods.
And they will protect sheep with rods.
And they will call out predators with rods.
And they will drive sheep into pens and lay in the gate while the sheep are in the hedges the shepherds
would lay in the gate to make sure no predators came through the gate this is why in john 10 10
the lord jesus says when we say the thief comes to kill steal and destroy i know we always say
the devil and that makes for good preaching but he's not really talking about satan you got to read the
whole thing in context he's talking about false prophets and bad teaching that come to steal kill
and destroy that's why he calls himself in that passage watch the good shepherd
who lays down his for the, the unintelligent animals.
So let's stick with the appearance of the false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing.
What does that mean? Sheep's clothing is a metaphor like they look just like genuine believers.
They talk like genuine believers. They preach like genuine believers. They text you like genuine believers. They talk like genuine believers. They preach like genuine believers.
They text you like genuine believers. They slip into the church looking like genuine believers.
They're in community. They're in small groups. They're on platforms. They're in conferences.
They're writing books. They're in YouTube. They got their own Facebook lives. I don't even know
why you're on Facebook, but they got Instagram lives and all of that.
Man, and they sound like believers and talk like believers and walk like believers and dress like believers.
And because we are unintelligent animals, we just give them an acceptance pass to say, oh, she's a real brother or sister.
Why? Because they look, sound like, smell like, talk like, flow like, move like, just like a genuine believer.
So we have the awareness of false prophets.
They exist.
We have the appearance of false prophets.
They look just like brothers and sisters.
The third one is sitting right in this text the agenda of false prophets look what Jesus says they come
to you in sheep's clothing but what he says but inwardly they are what ravenous wolves he called false
prophets ravenous wolves let's talk about the relationship between a sheep and a wolf
in israel where i saw sheep these unintelligent animals with no natural defense mechanism
their number one predator are wolves who roam the countryside looking for an easy meal.
And they always seize on the sheep that get away from the pack.
The sheep that go astray from the community of the herd.
They make themselves easy prey for wolves to get them.
There's no wonder that people who disconnect
from the church, they want nothing to do with community, nothing to do with the body of,
nothing to do with the body of Christ. And we look at five years later, now you God body.
Now you're a five percenter. Now you're trusting in crystals, man. You've been seized on by the teaching of wolves. What do we know about wolves?
Wolves are ravenous beasts.
They have insatiable appetites.
They are merciless.
They eat till they kill.
They hunt.
They look for.
They take down sheep.
This is the attitude of the false prophet.
Everybody look at me.
Because I know you love them.
Right?
You always send them money to their ministry.
You like everything they put on social media.
Some of y'all sitting in this room looking at me with your eyes crossed.
Man, your life is filled with false prophets.
That's why you don't like my voice.
I'm telling you what I know about the spirit.
Some of y'all, my voice agitates you because
a false prophet is in your ear.
I know what I know
about the spirit. There are a lot of you in this room
you got an issue with my voice
because in your ear and in your
heart is the voice of a false
prophet some male some female that made you feel some kind of way about me
this is the job of the false prophet like a ravenous wolf they are seeking watch their own influence they got their own agenda they love
they love influence they love division they love to pick off sheep they slip into relationships and
divide friends and and all of that and now with the proliferation of social media
beyond slipping into the church man man. They build their own platforms. And they tell you, come to my
conferences and buy my books and sow into my ministry. Man, they're everywhere.
And we like unintelligent sheep with no discernment. We're just running behind wolves
because they have a big Instagram following
or they got status
or they got money
or they eloquent of speech
or they got five degrees
and you think
you think you think you let me help all of you there's
wolves with degrees money status prestige power influence this is all they keep craving for on
the inside man i know one in atlanta i could call his name right now. And all of you
would send me DMs saying, oh, Pastor Philip, you're so judgmental. Yeah. We so affirming of
false prophets that real prophets can't even call them out without y'all getting mad and saying we
being judgmental. So we can't even protect the unintelligent sheep from the wolves because as soon as the wolves get called out by name, man, the real prophet is judgmental.
So because we created a cancel culture in the church, false prophets keep roaming the countryside and tearing up unintelligent sheep. It's like one of my best friends lives in Florida and he and I, we got
guns and we shoot. And he told me like, yo bro, you know, we're not allowed to kill alligators
in Florida. I was like, what? One time I was at his house, an alligator was on the backyard.
They come out of ponds. They'd be in people's backyards or on the front steps.
And I'm like, like yo you can't
shoot these beasts he said no watch they're protected
so so you mean to tell me this ravenous beast that be killing y'all dogs and killing y'all cats and snatching two-year-olds at Disney World.
True story.
You can't shoot them?
You can't bring harm to this thing that is ruining y'all communities?
We act the same way
man you got people who are serial adulterer a serial scandal you're all about money you're
always popping up with some new scheme you're hopping from state to state you're all over the
place you have no signs of repentance. No sign of remorse.
You keep fleecing people for more money.
You keep fleecing people for more houses.
And we just say, oh, God knows his heart.
Yeah, God does know his heart.
That inside he's a ravenous wolf.
A false prophet.
I'm trying to sister.
What was the first a,
the awareness of false prophets.
They exist. What was the second a, the appearance of false prophets they exist what was the second a the appearance of
false prophets they look just like believers talk like believers sound like believers slip in amongst
believers they make friends with believers they smile at believers they're so nice to believers
until they sink their fans in you and divide you from the body, draw you out to their ministry, and then kill you out in the
wilderness. This fourth one, so watch the wisdom of Jesus. I'm almost done i only got two more a's right
their parents the awareness the agenda so if they're wolves in sheep's clothing
if they're in the church if they're on social media right if they're on youtube
how are we supposed to know what they look like man they they look look they talk like Philip so I don't
even know it's Philip one is they want I don't know but isn't Jesus a loving Shepherd so he
gives us this fourth a the assessment of the false prophet look what he says verse 16 through 18 how will you know them verse 16 matthew chapter 7 verse
16 how will you know a false prophet you will recognize them by their fruits plural with an s
i'm going to come back to that now watch the wisdom of Jesus. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes
or figs from thistles? So every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears
bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. So he says, watch verse 16,
you will recognize them by their fruits with an S,
not fruit.
Fruits with an S, plural.
Let's unpack the word fruits.
The word fruits, my wife loves this word.
It's one of her favorite words in our house.
She said, man, they, they, words in our house. They ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba and da-da-da-da-da. Man, we need to wait
and look for their fruit.
We've been in this for 10 years.
Da-da-da-da-da. And they said da-da-da-da-da.
We need to just wait and watch for their fruit.
Huh?
She say this to me all the time.
And I know they talented and they gifted,
but honey, we need to just wait and watch for their fruit y'all been around for 10 years y'all ready that's what that's what
wisdom you need to wait and watch for their fruit now watch what jesus says everybody watch i'm
almost done he says you will know them watch this by their with an s you know what fruits with an s is it is the body of their words and deeds
fruits is a tag word for character
you will know them by their character you need to listen to the words coming out of their mouths.
And the actions and the deeds of their life.
And he said, by their fruits, by their character, the body of their words and actions,
you would be able to discern real prophets from false prophets.
Now, everybody look right at me.
Watch the wisdom.
This is so dope to me.
I love the scriptures. You watch the wisdom of Jesus. He could have used anything for an analogy, brother
Neil, but he chose a tree. Hey pastor, I don't get this. Watch. I ain't never seen somebody plant a tree and it bear fruit in a week.
You ain't never plant a tree and it gives fruit in a week.
You don't get it yet.
A tree takes time.
A tree takes time to grow,
to sprout its branches,
then it starts bearing fruit. It takes what time so before we start just labeling people as here they're real you gotta
watch them for a season you just all buddy buddy and chummy chummy and sending them money
and going to their conferences you have not watched them for a season. I've
been saved for 20 years. I've been preaching for 10 years. My fruit is hanging from the
tree. But one false prophet get in your air and you don't like my voice. They've been
saved for a week. You don't even know them. You just met them. You ain't been around them
for 10 years.
You don't know they pass.
They ain't been around
long enough to grow
and sprout their trees,
their branches,
and bear fruit.
And the reason you don't
think like this
is because we're sheep.
We're unintelligent animals.
Can I go deeper?
Listen to me.
Everybody look right at me.
I never seen oranges hanging on an apple tree. I never in my life. Watch, seen oranges hanging on apple tree.
When I was in Queens, they had these trees with these little orange things.
They were like stink bombs.
When they hit the floor and burst, they smell.
I walk up to those stink bombs in the schoolyard, and I'll never see apples there.
I don't know how much I say, this is an apple tree.
No, it's a stink bomb tree.
This is an apple tree.
No, it's a stink bomb tree.
Because it doesn't matter how much
I try to like their posts,
they will never be other than the fruit
that comes from the root of who they are.
If their root is corrupt, they will bear bad character.
If their root is pure, they will bear good character.
The Lord says there is no other option.
So no matter how much you like their posts, send them money, go to their conferences,
buy their books.
If they're,
if,
if you're staring at the stink bomb,
you keep giving them grace.
I know they'd be talking like that,
but grace,
I know they'd be acting like that,
but grace.
I know they sold mad Caesar division,
but grace.
I know they're a serial adulterer,
but grace.
I know they're a serial scandal,
but grace,
grace,
grace.
How long are you going to keep staring at that stink bomb tree and trying to force it to be an apple tree?
I'm trying to help some of y'all especially those who are younger in the faith you give too much credit to people that just popped up on the scene
they just got a new title behind their name you need to watch for a season to determine are they
real or phony you will only know a tree by the fruit that is bears and a tree does not bear
fruit when it's first planted it could be planted in a city or plant a tree by the fruit that it bears. And a tree does not bear fruit when it's first planted.
It can be planted in a city or planted in a church.
You need to watch it for a period of time before you just give it your ears and your heart.
And I know you're going to keep giving them a pass because that's your friend
that's my homeboy that's my prophet that's my apostle that's my bishop that's my fill in the
blank all right keep giving them credence I don't care let them keep getting away with fooling you
and fooling the body that's all right you know's alright. You know who they're not going to fool? They're not going to fool the Lord Jesus Christ.
Which brings me to the final
A. The account
of the false prophet.
That's alright. You can get over
on the body. You will not get over
on the Lord Jesus Christ. The
account of the false prophet. The awareness.
The appearance. The agenda. the Lord Jesus Christ the account of the false prophet the awareness the appearance the agenda
y'all taking notes the assessment the last one has the account verse
19. thank you very much brother verse 19. you can fool man you won't fool Jesus this is what
Jesus says about the false prophet false prophets y'all listening every tree that does not bear
good fruit is cut down he's coming for you if you don't repent from your mouth
and your ways and it's thrown into the fire that you will recognize them by
their fruits s now y'all can act y'all so soft you can try to patty cake all
you want he says if i find a tree when i come that has not repented that keeps taking advantage of my
unintelligent sheep when i come you're going to be cut down and you're going to be thrown in the fire
that's a pretty word for eternal damnation the reward for the reward for beguiling sheep is damnation
that's why paul said if any man preaches any other gospel than the one that i preach let that man be
damned accursed if you hear anybody preaching any other gospel than the one that Paul preached, let that
person be damned. See, let me lean in right here by the spirit. Some of us who love for profit so
much because of their 3 a.m. revelation. Let me tell you something right now. Look right at me.
I don't care how big their Instagram is, how famous they are, how much money they got, the buildings they got.
I don't care if they're well-known or popular.
The Holy Spirit will never tell you to do something or say something that's contrary to the word of God.
You are a liar.
You did not hear from God.
You heard from your flesh.
The Holy Spirit is the author of the word of God through
40 different men, 1500 years, three different continents, three different languages. The Holy
Spirit would never tell a man or woman to say something or do something that is contrary to
the word. Why? Because God is not a liar liar it's why he can only swear by himself
so you can't tell me your prophets say such and such and there are scripture that goes against
what your prophet said your apostle said your pastor said your teacher said
this is why the best way to deal with false prophets is to be informed about the word of God.
This is why Jesus was teaching you about praying before he got to this section.
Why?
The more you pray, the more sensitive you are to the spirit.
And the more scriptures you know, the easier it is to discern a lie.
But a lot of us men are always duped by false prophets.
I got to hurt you. Because we are biblically illiterate
watch you love churches that move your emotions but you get bored with teaching
you love to jump off the chair but you don't like teaching
so you fall asleep on teachers while wolves are ravaging your soul the more word you know when you hear a lie
it's not like static in your soul I'm done, Frank.
Can I say one more thing, too, before I land the plane there is hope though look right at me because wherever there is a phony of something that
means the real thing exists if there is a knockoff louis vuitton bag that means the real louis bag we back exist so the the existence of the false prophet means there are real prophets
so because i love you i want to give you how much time i got
can i give these to you really quick seven marks of a real prophet we don't got time put the first
one up there i said put the first one up there thank you very much i just want you to take
pictures really quickly true prophets has a life that displays great character watch i didn't say a moment i said a life let me help you you could take this list and then filter your your favorite preachers through them
put the second one up there okay true prophets speak messages that align with the will
and the word of god so if they're speaking things that does not align with the Bible,
that is a false prophet or false teaching.
Put the third one up there. A true prophet speaks declarations that come to pass.
They told you four years ago, it was the year of so-and-so, but that ain't happened in your life,
though. It's the year where every Christian so but that ain't happening your life don't it's the year every
christian get wealthy but you're still struggling it's the year everybody gonna get married but
you're still single you ever notice how some of these prophets they keep telling you how to have
a life of wealth and ease and the only one profiting from the prophet's ministry is the prophet
and you keep funding their conferences and funding their books and liking this and they keep telling
this is the year of this and i'm i'm praying and anointing over everybody for this and three years
later that didn't happen yet and you still liking their stuff where their words are falling to the
floor put the fourth one up there a true prophet speaks hard messages that inspire godly change
so if they only keep telling you what your itching ears want to hear that's not a real
prophet you can't find one prophet in the bible that told people what they wanted to hear
prophets in the Bible gave people messages
to lead them towards godly change.
Real prophets don't stroke the flesh.
They put wounds in the flesh.
Put the fifth one up there.
A true prophet does not tailor messages
to suit fleshly passions they don't twist the word to make you feel comfortable
put the sixth one up there a true prophet has spirit-led discernment into the lives of others
you ain't gonna fool me.
I know you
because I'm in prayer.
I'm gonna watch you.
Put the last one up there.
A true prophet today
is a strong pointer
to the greatest prophet
i'll be listening to some of these people that call themselves prophet and everything you say is about you you better be check the prophets of the bible they were pointers yes they were seers but they were and most of
their pointing was towards god so when you're listening to real prophet they're always pointing
you not to themselves to the lord jesus christ so i ask you about your prophet listen to them
how often do you hear jesus in their message
are they spending 50 minutes drawing you to themselves are they spending 50 minutes
pointing you towards the greatest prophet the world has ever known the lord jesus christ
the shepherd who laid down his life for the unintelligent sheep
you know what i know i'm ending my time but i gotta i gotta share this with you because
i just have to i'm sorry i need five minutes no no i can't take my time i need five minutes
oh y'all got my reference scriptures uh romans chapter 16 verses uh where am i uh 17 y'all got
that paul wrote to the church in rome i appeal to you brothers
to watch out watch out watch out for those who cause divisions and who create obstacles
contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught watch the next words avoid them for such
persons do not serve the lord christ but their their own appetites. And by watch this word, smooth talk and flattery, they deceive the hearts of the naive, the unintelligent sheep.
First John, these are men of God, right?
First John chapter four 4 verse 1.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.
For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
By this you know the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.
And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard coming and is now in the world already.
Man, there's false prophets all over the place, like Joseph Smith, who was a false prophet.
Who gave birth to the Mormon church, a false religion.
Can I give you two more?
Really quickly.
Where am I?
Jeremiah chapter 14.
Jeremiah chapter 14, verse...
Oh, you know where I'm going, Kenny?
Verse 13.
Let's do it.
Let's do it.
Then I said, watch.
Ah, Lord, behold behold the prophets say to them
now everybody watch look what the false prophets say you shall not see the sword
ease ease ease wealth ease wealth ease this is the year of nor shall you have famine but i will give
you a short peace in this place and the lord said to me the
prophets are prophesying lies in my name i did not send them nor did i command them to speak to them
they are prophesying to you a lying vision worthless divinations and the deceit of their
own minds therefore thus says the lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name
although i did not send them and who say sword and famine shall not come upon this land by the
sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed you prophesy lies and ease and comfort and only
blessings you are a liar.
Y'all don't think God is serious about this?
The last verse, Deuteronomy 18, 20.
See, some of y'all looking at me cross-eyed because I'm stepping toes on your favorite prophet.
It's just unintelligent sheep.
That's why you don't like me.
I already know.
A prophet been in your ear.
Look at this last one. This is how serious serious God is about it Deuteronomy 18 20
Deuteronomy 18 20 I only got my Bible Oh turn around but the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not
commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods that same prophet
what shall die so serious as God about protecting you from bad voices he said
in the old days if you find a false prophet kill them that's how serious the lord is about protecting your air gates and your heart
i'm so serious the lord says about guarding your heart
that in the old time if i found a false prophet, I say, kill them.
So here is the voice of a real prophet.
Take all your favorite prophets and run them through that criteria.
And if they don't meet the criteria,
you need to back off and watch for fruit for a season.
And if you start seeing words and character that is not biblical you
might need to kill that voice in your air
say but man they're my friend though keep them it's your ears it's your soul
it's the future of your life You've heard today from a real prophet.
It's your choice.
Let's pray. I already feel emails coming.
I already know people are offended.
I don't even know how to pray right now.
I just feel tension in the room
i don't even know how to pray how do i pray i feel tension in the room i feel tension
i feel tension because of your affinity for false prophets.
I feel tension in the room.
Every head bowed, every eye closed. I...
Spirit of the
living God.
You who
are the author of the word of God,
you who gave us these holy words,
and you, Lord Jesus, the third person of the Trinity,
the greatest prophet the world has ever known,
who loves your sheep.
God, I
pray
for all of
these under the sound of my
voice in
these last days
where there is a multitude
God of voices
everywhere.
Lord, I pray now for your sons and daughters that you would greatly
increase their discernment, that they would be aware, That they would see the appearance.
That they would avoid the agenda.
That they would run them through the assessment.
And we pray for the repentance of those who's headed for the account.
Who are false prophets.
We pray God you would turn them from their wicked ways.
And save them God who belong to you. Father I pray for people in this room who are offended at me right now. They're really offended
at the truth of your word. I pray they will look back to me to the scriptures and wrestle in their own soul with the person they love, God, Lord, who is a false prophet.
I pray you would deliver men and women in this room from the chains, the mental, emotional, and spiritual slavery of wrong voices.
Set them free, Lord.
I don't care if those voices are in their family.
Set them free, Lord.
Father God, I pray
that we would keep running
towards those voices
that are leading us down
the path that is narrow
that leads to life.
And I just pray an explosion or a spirit of discern stir the room for just a moment just
i feel like i'm fighting chains your grandmother said your grandfather said your friend said
your favorite apostle said your favorite bishop said said. Lord, I pray you would break chains.
Mental, emotional, and spiritual chains.
From the voices of false prophets.
And no matter how much we like them.
I pray you would shatter chains, God, in this room.
Over eyes and ears and hearts in the name of Jesus.
I pray we would watch, God,
for fruit of words and character.
And that we would run everybody we love,
even Philip Anthony Mitchell,
through the criteria of the word that is forever settled in heaven.
I pray not one sheep in this house would be lost.
Not one more would be
ravished.
I pray we would be
ferocious in discernment
and ferocious
in guarding our eyes,
our eyes,
our ears,
and our hearts from bad teaching
and false prophets.
There's somebody in this room right now,
the greatest prophet the world has ever known is
calling you saying i want you my son my daughter you've done church your whole life but you don't
belong to me somebody brought you in here and you don't belong to me i want to be a father to you
i want to heal you from your wounds i want to give you a new life I want to
make you a new creature I want to be there for you I want to hear your voice
and help you with all your problems I want to be your Lord who died for you

the direction of your life I want to snatch you from that Broadway and I want
to put you on the narrow way that is going towards eternal life. I'm trying to rescue you right now. Come to me,
my new shepherd. Come to me, my new son or my daughter. If that's you, the Lord right now is
calling you out of sin, out of that broad way. I want to pray for you right now. If that's you,
on the count of three, I want you to throw your hands in the air.
Lord, pray for me.
I'm surrendering my life to you.
One, the real prophet is calling you.
Two, he's about to lead you into a brand new life.
Three, throw your hands in the air if that's you.
Leave it there.
One, I see that hand.
Leave it there.
Two, I see that hand.

19.

19.
19.
19.
19.
19.
You 19 men and women, just start... Right now, the devil is alive.
I don't need a microphone.
Just tell God you're sorry.
Tell him you're sorry for all your sin.
Put your faith in him right now.
I see you, 20.
Tell him you're sorry.
21.
I see you.
Put your faith in him.
Say, Lord, I'm sorry for all my sin.
Forgive me for my life of sin.
Surrender your life to him right now.
Just put your faith in him.
He can hear you.
He can hear you.

you change everything
I healed so I'm gonna surrender he can surrender he can hear you talk to him.
I see tears falling all around this room.
I want you to know God is catching those tears.
He sees them.
Those are the tears of repentance.
I see all of y'all shedding tears.
I see you wiping your eyes.
Those are the tears of repentance.
Pray, Christians. Come on, pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray. pray Christians come on pray
Father in the name of Jesus
I pray over these 21
brothers and sisters
that you're filling them right now
with your spirit
I pray you will lead them
and guide them down the paths
of righteousness
that narrow path that leads to life.
Snatch them from that broad way that leads to hell.
I pray you would surround them with godly community.
You would reveal yourself to them in a real and powerful way.
I pray they would know you God as a father and you would know them as a son or daughter.
I thank you that their names have been
recorded in the Lamb's book of life. That they are brand new creatures and that you said when
one sinner repents all of heaven rejoices. So father right now we rejoice. We rejoice.
We rejoice God.
