Starting point is 00:00:00 Maybe today, maybe today is not a joyous day for you. Maybe today is full of mixed emotions because the table will be empty today. Or maybe you have mixed emotions because you may not have a relationship with your father. Maybe an adopted or in foster care or maybe you have had not a great relationship with your father. It's a bit tumultuous. It's a bit rocky.
Starting point is 00:00:39 But the scriptures are very clear that the God of all comfort, my prayer is that the God of all comfort will meet you in your place of need, will meet you in your place of sorrow, maybe trouble, and give you comfort, give you wisdom on how to navigate this Father's Day. Because we believe that everything we do should be informed by the Word of God. Amen? Amen. Let's give God praise for all the first-time guests in the building. Welcome to 2819. I am a son of this house, and I want to welcome you.
Starting point is 00:01:42 And before I continue to progress, I want to welcome all the digital disciples that may be watching, that is watching live right now. What's up to all of you? Happy Father's Day to all the fathers that are in the chat. And I want to shout out to Unbeliever. Maybe you're watching. Maybe you're in person. Maybe you're still exploring the claims of Christ. We believe here at 2019 that you can belong before you believe.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Amen? And so we thank you for joining our gathering this morning. Before we progress, I will be remiss not to honor what I consider, I consider a staple in my life, someone who did not biologically raise me, but someone who spiritually enriched my life. You can always tell where God is taking you by the relationships he grants you. And I am forever grateful for Pastor Phillip Anthony Mitchell and Miss Lena. I will say this. I'll say this.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I've been here for three weeks. And I was telling some of my friends, who does this? Who does this that a church planner that's coming up and in need of some help, and he says, come speak for me for three weeks. Don't worry about anything. I got you. Who does that? A loving person. Watch this.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Who is not amassed unto himself. But that's totally surrendered. When we talked a few weeks ago, he said, Mark Wavius, he said, I'm going to be honest with you. He said, 2019 is not my church. It's God's church. And I've been given stewardship over God's work. And man, I'm forever grateful. And I don't say this to be repetitive, but I'm forever grateful for him taking out the time to say, you know what? I
Starting point is 00:04:05 want to help this young man. And I want to say, sir, if you're watching, thank you. My life will not be the same without you. Amen. Amen. Y'all ready for the word of God? I said, y'all ready for the word of God? I want to shout out real quick because I can't move on without shouting out my lovely wife. Who is, yeah, listen. Let me pay you a seat. Listen, I would not be where I am without a strong wife. Amen.
Starting point is 00:04:47 And who's honest with you, who'll correct you, who'll tell you, didn't like that. Don't do that no more. I'm like, you know what? You're right. And I'm forever grateful. So I love her dearly. Let's jump into the word of God, shall we? Matthew chapter 16.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Before we jump into the word of God, I know some of you that have been paying attention, you're like, wait a minute, Marquavius, you've gone past the latter part of 15. Well, because Pastor Philip covered that particular passage back in a message called Move With Compassion, although it's for a different audience, the principles and things that are derived out of that particular text are still the same. So if you're like, man, I wanted to hear something about Jesus feeding the 4,000, go back to the message where he so greatly expressed the gospel as it relates to Matthew. Matthew's account about the 5,000. It's a message called Move With Compassion, so you can go back and watch that. Amen? All right, so we're going to be in Matthew chapter
Starting point is 00:05:50 number 16. We only have four verses today, so we'll have a time. Matthew chapter 16, we're going to go through the first four verses. It is also mirrored over in Mark, but we'll read Matthew today for the sake of time. And we'll go on from there. If you got it, somebody say, I got it. If you don't have it, somebody say, hold up. Oh, everybody's not with us. Come on, y'all. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Matthew chapter 16, verse 1 through 4. If you are a note taker, Matthew chapter 16, verse 16, 1 through 4. Just hold one note for me, Sam. Thank you so much, sir. And it reads like this, and the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him, they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. Somebody say heaven. And he answered them, when it is evening, you say it will be fair weather for the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be stormy today for the sky is red and threatening. You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
Starting point is 00:07:09 An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, seeks for a sign, but not a sign. But no sign will be given to you except the sign of Jonah. So he left and departed. He left them and departed. Let's pray. Father, we thank you for your word. It's a lamp unto our feet. It's a light unto our path. In the next few moments, would you captivate our hearts? Would you grab our attention? Would you grab our affections? Let nothing distract us in this moment. God, I pray that we would sober up today because some of us have fallen into this trap. And so I pray in the name of Jesus that we would not assume that you're talking to the person next to us, behind us. But God, may we look in the mirror today and say, God, you're talking to me.
Starting point is 00:08:02 We pray all these things in Jesus' name somebody shout amen amen i am uh thank you so much man i am uh gonna push all my chips on the table because i think it'll be beneficial for somebody this morning i was involved when i first came to christ i I was involved in, I would like to say, an organization that was very religious, if that would be a term. Very religious, very traditional, very legalistic. And when I came up in this organization, I was serving in the ministry, and as I was serving,
Starting point is 00:08:40 the pastor got whiff of an addiction that I had. And I know you can't relate to this because you're so saved. I had an addiction to pornography and it was bad. I was introduced to it at a young age through molestation and it had a hold on me, strong hold in my life. Again, I know you can't relate because y'all say, okay, just talking about the preacher, okay? And so he got whiff of it and something interesting happened. He got whiff of it and he issued some corrective action. So I got sat down. If you don't know what that means, you have been around church for a while. Sat down means you no longer can serve for a period of time. Okay. I sat down and my heart was really broken for a few reasons because that being sat down didn't follow with discipleship. And correction looks evil if discipleship is not involved. And so I experienced this heartbreak for a multiplicity of reasons, because although
Starting point is 00:09:50 I was dealing with addiction, I needed to know how to walk this thing out. Because if you're not careful, you'll think that just because you're asking God to take it away, that God's just supposed to take it away and you have no discipleship to walk through. Okay. So anyway, so, so, so I'm, I'm dealing with this and finally I get sat back up in, in, in, in ministry and yeah, I get sat back up, you know, thought I was doing something, sat back up, you know what I mean? So sat back up in ministry and I'll never forget I was, God was, God was leading me when I was in Bible college at this time, leading me away from that ministry. And I went on like a one-year span of doing nothing. So I was like, yes, I'm saved.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I'm pure, Jesus, yes. And the Holy Spirit, you know, he just comes, you know, come yelling, just come with this subtle. He said, I want to talk to you for a minute. And I said, yes, sir. He said, I want to reveal a motive here. And I said, well, what's the motive? He said, you really didn't stop because you believe the gospel. But you stopped because you wanted to please people.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Jesus. but you stopped because you wanted to please people. And I grappled with that because for years after that year span, I still struggled. And it wasn't until I fully surrendered to God in this area that I got a chance to see complete freedom. Not because I was worried about how I appeared before people, but because I knew that before God, this was incorrect. This was wrong. And I kept asking God during that time, if you be God, just take it away from me. And here we find ourselves in the text because the Pharisees and the Sadducees are asking God for a sign. Watch this because what they're really asking him for is do a trick for us. Do something that I know that you're real. Watch this to prove your credibility. Here we find ourselves in verse number one. It says, the Pharisees and Sadducees came. Well, who were the Pharisees and Sadducees? These were the religious leaders or the religious elect of the
Starting point is 00:12:19 day. The Pharisees were individuals who were well-known by the common man. They were well-known by the common man. They were both known as the experts of the law. Not just the experts of the law, but they were also known as the interpreters of the law. So the Sadducees were individuals that did not believe in the supernatural, the supernatural works. So miracle signs, wonders, the resurrection, they didn't believe in these things. They were more tied to the Roman government and they were individuals who had political power. So you had individuals who had power over the people, which were the Pharisees. And then you had individuals who had political power,
Starting point is 00:12:58 which were the Sadducees. So these were the individuals that came to Jesus. Now watch this. So they came to Jesus to test him. Now, watch this. Jesus is not unfamiliar with tests because Jesus also gives tests. In Matthew chapter 15, where he enters in the woman and he tests her faith as it relates to her daughter. But he gives tests. But watch, Jesus is about to be tested. And the Bible says, and they asked him, show us a sign from heaven. Show us a sign from heaven. Watch the wisdom
Starting point is 00:13:37 of Jesus. Because a lot of people would assume that just because he has power, he has the authorization to operate in it at any time. But watch the wisdom of Jesus. That they're coming to tempt him to use his power outside of the will of God. I want to talk to all of us anointed people in the room where you feel like just because you're anointed, you're authorized to do whatever you want. That just because God downloads a dream to you, you're authorized to just say whatever he showed you. But I just want to parenthetically insert this, that just because he showed you doesn't mean you have authorization to say anything.
Starting point is 00:14:27 That if God is going to trust you with what I call secret intel, then you have to be careful that you don't just start spewing this out of your mouth as if to say, just because I have power, I can do with it what I will. Jesus, watch this, is the epitome of power under control. He's power under control. And they're asking him, show us a sign. Can I ask you a question? Are you at all influenced by pressure? Because watch this, Jesus is asked the same question in Matthew chapter number 12 by the same individuals, except these were Pharisees and scribes in 12, as Pharisees and Sadducees in 15 and 16 watch this but his answer doesn't change I want to ask you something if you experience pressure does your
Starting point is 00:15:33 answer change does it that do you start to fumble over your convictions because you know God said it but now you feel the pressure of people and now I got to start grappling with if I really want to tell them no if I really want to say I can't do that I can't go there I I can't be in this relationship like like I can't do these things not because watch this I can't be in this relationship. Like, I can't do these things not because, watch this, I can't do it, but I don't have authorization. And watch this. And this is very hard for all of us that have been bruised in the area of submission. I just told you I came out of a very legalistic institution, or not institution, organization. So when it comes to God directing our lives and being the Lord, if you're not careful,
Starting point is 00:16:38 you will start to live your life through your feelings and not through your convictions. And just because what God is saying to you is against what you feel, then you feel like you have the authorization to disobey. But if he is your Lord and your savior, it means no matter where he's leading you, you're following. Is everybody still with me? So notice they came to him asking him for a sign. Watch this. This is what I call satanic behavior because they're not just asking him for a sign for the purpose of a sign. They're asking him for a sign to test his identity. But somebody else tested his identity in Matthew chapter 4, which was Satan who said,
Starting point is 00:17:34 If you be God, turn this stone into bread. But because Jesus knew who he was, he didn't have to prove himself. Oh, good God in glory. See, I want to talk to some real individuals that know, man, I have my identity cemented in Christ. That when the cares of life come, I don't have to prove who I am to anybody. He didn't allow the outside influence to sink his identity. I heard a man say it one time, he said, it is not the water on the outside of the boat that sinks the boat. It's the water that gets inside the boat that sinks the ship. I got a question for you. Have you allowed the external to begin to move internally to affect your identity in Christ, to where the
Starting point is 00:18:47 pressures of life is causing you to crumble. Not because God is not real, but because you're not cemented in your identity in Christ. One of the worst things you can do is have your identity in everything else except Christ. Notice they ask him for a sign. Watch this. It wasn't that the sign was bad. It was that Jesus saw their motive of why they wanted the sign. Because watch this.
Starting point is 00:19:27 People may always know your what, but God always sees your why. People may always know your what, but God always sees your why. And you can be willing to do good things, but not godly things. It could be good for you to be involved with this person, but is it God? It could be good to do this business decision, but is it where God is leading you? It could be good to accept this career, but is this where God is leading you? Because one of the things we have to pray for in this time is this D word called discernment.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And discernment is not for the purpose to expose other people. Can I walk down all my prophetic people out just for a moment? Let me walk. Because, you know, we use this colloquialism that says that I'll just tell it like it is. I just tell people about themselves. But watch Jesus, that although he has discernment about what the Pharisees is doing, he still handles them with care. That if we're not careful, we can be experiencing Jesus but not mirroring him. And the Bible says that Jesus said to take up your cross and follow so that is a mirror not just an experience that i'm supposed to reflect him in every area of my life ephesians chapter 5 says imitate me therefore that we are to imitate God in everything we do
Starting point is 00:21:29 watch Jesus and verse number two it says and it says he answered them so he responds he says when it is evening you say it will be fair weather for the sky is red and And in the morning, it will be stormy today for the sky is red, threatening. You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. Watch this. So Jesus says, you know how to tell the outcome of the weather by just looking at the sky. So you're a good meteorologist. You just, I don't know about people in Arizona, but I know in that,
Starting point is 00:22:13 you know, sometimes when I was living in Atlanta, they'd be like, it's going to rain. Come on, man. Or you ever been in Atlanta where like, it's about to snow and they're like freaking out on oh my gosh so he's saying you guys are good tellers of the outcomes of the time as far as what the weather is going to be like but you cannot see the sign that's in front of you watch this because if you read the old, you would see glimpses of Jesus. And they, the Pharisees, would have known the Old Testament. So it wasn't like they didn't read it. It was just they couldn't see it. So just because you're around the things of God doesn't mean you actually have sight to see Jesus. That's why we need the Holy Spirit. Because if you're not careful, this will just become
Starting point is 00:23:16 intellectual content. That if you're not careful, the Bible and going to church will just become notes. It will just become messages, but it will not become life change. It will not become transformation, but because you just all consumed it in your mind. And it is one of the things that's killing the American church. Because we are replete with sermons. Full. We have no drought in messages. You go on YouTube, you can find it. You go on social media, you can find it. But here's our problem. It's that we know, but we don't apply. We know and we don't do.
Starting point is 00:24:15 James says that we are hearers of the word. But we're not doers as a man looks in the mirror and forget, watch this, what he looks like. Because some of us, we hear the word and we forget what we look like. Because if we're not careful, you'll walk in your own self-deception. And the worst deception you could ever walk in is not when you deceive other people. No, it's when you deceive yourself. To make yourself think I'm okay, when in reality, you're not. Watch the wisdom of Jesus.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Verse number four, and he says, an evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign. So he basically says here, you are evil. He's talking about their motive and he's also talking about their heart. That their heart is not satisfied with God alone. I know that in our society, we have Jesus plussers. We have those that only come to God for what God can do and not for who he is. We have preachers who preach God's about to, God's about to, God's fin to, God's fin to, and shout three times and this will happen, and shout three times and this will happen, and shout three times
Starting point is 00:25:46 and this will happen, and do this and this will happen, and sow this and this will happen. And what happens is we create adulterous hearts because we're giving ourselves over to other gospels and not the gospel of the Bible. Amen. and not the gospel of the Bible. And that's why believers, brothers and sisters, we must have discernment. That's why I love our pastor in that he will open the text, open the scriptures, read the text
Starting point is 00:26:18 and say, just come up for air and see if what you are hearing is the same thing God is saying. Or are we just so good because we like good preaching, good hooping, good shouting, good, you know, all that stuff. All right, Kenny, I didn't do it. I'm just saying. But we like that stuff. And right, Kenny, I didn't do it. I'm just saying. But we like that stuff and it's emotional. It's great, but it doesn't change anybody. It doesn't bring about transformation. It just arouses your emotions. And that's why we can have good inspired people, but we don't have good disciplined people.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And watch this. It says, but no sign. So Jesus says no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. Now watch this. Jesus operates in this principle, and I want you to get this principle because I think it will be beneficial to every area of your life.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Write this down. Jesus operated in the principle that just because I can doesn't always mean I should. I was sitting at the table with Pastor Phillip right when I came back last year, and I was in one of the lowest places of my life. And where he's sitting across from me, and I'm just like, I don't know if I could do this no more. I don't know if I could do ministry anymore.
Starting point is 00:27:58 I don't know if I want to preach anymore. I don't even know if I want to, I don't want to do none of it. And he said, Jesus operating this principle of just because I can doesn't always mean I should. Which means just because I can say doesn't mean I always should say. Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 that although all things are profitable for me, not everything is beneficial. So there are some things that you could profit from, but not everything is beneficial. And then he goes on to say, and I will not be mastered by anything. Here's my question to you. What are you mastered by? Because some of us could be mastered by ourselves in that we are our own God.
Starting point is 00:28:56 And that we are the determiners of what we should do instead of God. That you don't experience that convicting power of the Holy Spirit and if you do you just yeah we ignore it like it's not there and after a while we become dull and we wonder why we're not hearing from him anymore because we have coined Christian freedom as the green light to do anything. That just because I know God's gonna cover me in grace, I will indulge in anything. And we must be very careful that we don't trample the grace of God under our feet
Starting point is 00:29:40 as to say, your grace owes me, rather than I'm submitted. I know this is, I know this is tough, but I'm submitted to the grace of God. So watch this. He says, no sign will be given except the sign of Jonah. Now there should be a question that you should ask. What is the sign of Jonah? I'm glad you asked. I'm glad you asked because Jonah was a man whom God called to go to a people, go to the people of Nineveh to preach a message of repentance. But this is not the first time. Jonah has a book in the Bible and, but this is not the first time we hear about Jonah. We hear about Jonah in 2 Kings chapter 4, where he is prophesying during the reign of a king of Israel.
Starting point is 00:30:29 And Jonah, at the time, God gives him this instruction. And instead of Jonah going to obey the instruction of God, Jonah goes in the opposite direction. Because when you're in sin, it doesn't call you to run to what God said. It calls you to run away from. But notice, watch this, that Jonah pays a fare to get on a boat because sin will always make you pay. Sin will always come with a price. I know it doesn't look like it right now I know you know it's good right now it's you know it feels good right now to your body but at some point you will pay a price the Bible says for the wages of sin the payment of
Starting point is 00:31:20 sin is death now you may not experience physical death. At this point. But you will experience a form of death. Because of sin. So Jonah goes in the opposite direction of God. Watch the wisdom of God in this. In that Jonah gets on the boat with some men. A storm comes.
Starting point is 00:31:45 And these men are trying to figure out what in the world is happening. So they start throwing stuff off, and Jonah is there just chilling. And so they finally say, hey, what's up here? We got to figure this out. So Jonah says, you know what? Forgot to tell you all something, you know, when I aborted, I'm kind of in conflict with the God of heaven. So I can't hide from him.
Starting point is 00:32:12 So he, you know, so they finally say, well, you got to go. So he jumps off. God sends a whale to swallow him up. Watch this. Swallow him up. He's there for three days. Jonah finally says, okay, God, I'll obey. Because watch the mercy of God. He didn't allow Jonah to die in his disobedience.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Is anybody grateful that even in your disobedience, God didn't let you take your last breath. So Jonah goes into the belly of this fish, but notice how Jesus points to the credibility of Jonah because a lot of intellectuals say, man, there's no way that this man would have been alive if he went into the belly of a whale. But watch Jesus quotes about Jonah because he quotes that this actually happened in the Old Testament. So Jonah finally says, okay, God, I'll obey. So he goes to the
Starting point is 00:33:12 people in Nineveh and he preaches repentance. And when he preaches repentance, the people actually repent. Now Jonah is shocked because he knows, watch this, the character of God, but he also knows these people. These people were the enemies of Israel. Can I teach real quick? These people were the enemies of Israel. So it would have been maybe some tension in his heart that God, you're having me go to a people that I don't even like what happens when God calls you to do something watch this that's inconvenient for you what what happens when he sends you on assignment there's something that's inconvenient
Starting point is 00:33:59 for what you feel like you should be doing and And God says, nah, go to Nineveh. Go to Nineveh. And he sends him to Nineveh. The people of Nineveh, they listen to the message. They hear, they repent. That is what I desire for every people. So the sign of Jonah, because remember I said that if you read the Old Testament, there are glimpses of Jesus. If the sign of Jonah is when Jonah went into the fish for three days. Somebody else went somewhere for three days. Watch Jesus in the Old Testament. But this is the good part. Because if you're not careful, you'll read over this. There's an attribute of God that is being displayed in the text. The attribute of God that is being displayed in the text the attribute of God
Starting point is 00:35:05 that is being displayed in the book of Jonah is the compassion of the Lord because Jonah is not going to reprieve to preach repentance to the Israelites he's going to preach repentance to a Gentile people so we see the gospel being shown even in the Old Testament in that God has compassion on people who were not his remnant people, which were Israel. This is so good to me because I'm glad that he didn't just stay at Israel, but he came for me and you. Is there anybody grateful that he came for me and you?
Starting point is 00:35:53 I get real concerned about people say they found God. I just got one question. How did you know where to look for him? How did you know where to look for him? How did you know where to find him? It's that through his sovereignty and his love, he came and found you. And he orchestrated a situation that either drew you to some house,
Starting point is 00:36:24 drew some person to you, drew some laborer to you, drew you to somewhere so that you could believe. Maybe you weren't in church, but he found you. Maybe you weren't met by some Christian, but you're in some club somewhere,
Starting point is 00:36:46 and he found you. Maybe you were on the attempt of doing something you know you weren't supposed to, and he found you. Are there any grateful people that he... Yeah! Another thing that God shows in the life of Jonah is that he doesn't desire for us to just experience his compassion
Starting point is 00:37:18 and not be the conduits where others can experience his compassion. Because we can be in church, and if we're not careful, we can be experiencing God and not displaying him. And I'm not just talking about the people that are outside, but I'm also talking about the people that are sitting next to you. I just have a question for you. When's the last time someone felt and seen the compassion of Jesus in your life?
Starting point is 00:37:53 The love of God being revealed in your life. Everybody standing with me. I'm gonna lay in this plane in Matthew chapter 12 we see that Jesus is approached by the Pharisees and the Sadducees, I mean the Pharisees and the scribes. But in Matthew chapter 16, he's approached by the Pharisees and the Sadducees. But watch him be this C word that some of us struggle with.
Starting point is 00:38:41 He's consistent. He's consistent. He's consistent. And I want to talk to all the men in here. It's Father's Day. And I would be no fool to think that every man in here is involved in gospel ministry. But I want to challenge you that if God is your father
Starting point is 00:39:10 and you love him like you say you do, then why not be consistent in not just showing up, but getting involved? My challenge to you men is that you won't just be in practice what it means to be under authority in that although he was God he was submitted to the father are you submitted are you truly laying your life down are you still trying to hold on to it and just say, you know what, I got it?
Starting point is 00:40:08 How that's working out for you? How's that going for you? I'm gonna challenge every man in this room. If you call 2819 your home, I'm gonna challenge you. Do you go outside these doors and say, I need to sign up to serve this house? Watch this because I want to just not talk a good game of building legacy,
Starting point is 00:40:33 but I want to be a display of what. One is it's okay to have questions for God, but it's not okay to question his character. God is not at all afraid of your questions, but he has revealed his character to you through his word. And he has, he is as consistent of anything we've ever experienced because the Bible says that he who we call is faithful. It is not given a description of what he does. It is giving a statement of who he is. Number two, this week, as you're moving through your week, evaluate your motives. Why am I doing what I'm doing? Because a lot of us like to pick the fruit of our lives, but we don't like to deal with the root causes of our lives.
Starting point is 00:42:07 And God is not after picking fruit. He's after dealing with root causes. Because the assignment that God has before you, he's asking you not to abandon the assignment. I know you're tired. I know you're weary. I know you're worn out. The Bible doesn't say how Jonah felt this span of time. From the time he got on the boat to the time that he's in the boat, to the time he gets thrown out, to the time that he's in the well, and to the time that he gets to Nineveh. It doesn't tell us that he wasn't weary. He wasn't fatigued.
Starting point is 00:43:07 But I come to talk to some people that are weary of the assignment God has given you. And if I'm talking to you, you're saying, Marquavius, I'm just weary. I'm just tired. If I'm talking to you, move out of your seat and get to this altar right now. Come on, quick, quick, quick, quick. You got to move quick.
Starting point is 00:43:34 You got to move quick. You got to move quick. If I'm talking to you, you say, man, I'm weary. I know God's called me to do it, but I'm weary. I'm tired. I'm weary. Come on. that they don't abandon something that God has given to them. If you're in your seat, maybe you're online,
Starting point is 00:44:09 and you're saying, you know what? This Jesus that you're talking about, I don't know that Jesus. I want to read a quote to you. By Will Minzer. He says this. Too often people do not see they're in real danger. They often see they have an uncanny sense of evil, that evil is real, and that some sort of hell or punishment exists, but they do not believe that it will ever affect their reality.
Starting point is 00:44:47 So you have this sense that hell is real and that punishment is somewhat real, but you're like, but just not me though. It won't affect me. But if you're apart from Jesus, my ammunition to you that it will affect you, that it is gonna to find you. And there is no escape that the only way to God is through Jesus.
Starting point is 00:45:14 And that if you say, you know what, today, I need to give my heart to him, my life to him, whether you're down here or whether you're in your seat, just lift your hand in the air. I'm not even going to count. You already know who you are, that you need to give your heart to him whether you're down here or whether you're in your seat just lift your hand in the air I'm not even gonna count you already know who you are that you need to give your heart to him hands in the air you need to give your heart to him hands straight in the air I see that hand I see that hand I see that
Starting point is 00:45:36 hand back there I see that hand come on let's celebrate let's celebrate. Come on. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. If you've given your heart to Jesus, today after the gathering, you can find something that is going to be given to you at a black tent on the outside. There will be some content for you to make your next steps. Listen, there's no prayer that's going to save you.
Starting point is 00:46:03 But my encouragement to you is get involved in some form of community, get involved in a Bible teaching church. If you're in Atlanta, listen, you don't have to look no further. Amen. Let me pray over these brothers and sisters. Father, in the name of Jesus, Father, we cover every individual in this altar. God, we thank you that they will not abandon their assignment that you've given to them. Father, I pray a resurgence of strength that comes upon your sons and your daughters, that they will literally walk into new strength today. God, would you strengthen every feeble knee? Would you strengthen every bowed head, God, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Starting point is 00:46:46 God, would you touch hearts today? Would you cause them to look at you more than they're looking at what's in front of them? May they gaze upon you more than they're gazing on the hardship, the trial, the tribulation, whatever it is, God, may they gaze upon you. And God, may your word come
Starting point is 00:47:04 true in their life and they will see the strength of God at work in them in them in them in them in them in them in them in them in them in them in them I'm praying for internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work not an external work and internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work and internal work and An eternal work, an eternal work, an eternal work. An eternal work. Yes. Yes. God.
Starting point is 00:47:51 Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. An eternal work. You're weary, but it's coming. Strength is coming. Strength is, yeah, yeah. Yes, sir. Strength is coming. Yes, it's coming.
Starting point is 00:48:01 If I were you, I would pray for these believers right now. Strength is coming. Strength's coming. If I were you, I would pray for these believers right now. Strength is coming. Strength is coming. I came all the way from Arizona to give you strength. You ain't going to quit. You ain't going to give up. Yeah, it's yours, man. God is yours.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Strength. Strength, strength, strength like no other. Strength. You ain't going to quit. You ain't going to give up. Strength, strength. Strength, strength. Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength. Strength.
Starting point is 00:48:43 In the name of Jesus. In the name of jesus if you're in agreement with what god is doing in the lives of these somebody give god a radical praise hallelujah hallelujah Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. If you still need prayer, there's going to be a prayer team down here that's going to be praying for you. But here's my encouragement to you. This is my last week. But listen, it has been a blessing to share the word of God with you. And when you think about my family and I
Starting point is 00:49:52 as you move throughout your day, pray for us. We're headed into a great work in Norfolk, Virginia, and we're believing God's going to raise a gospel church in Norfolk, Virginia, and we're believing God's going to raise a gospel church in Norfolk, Virginia. Amen. Listen, as we close, listen, I want you to continue to be faithful, to show up. Although our pastor is not here, that doesn't mean you check out, show up, that the gospel is not chained to his mouth, that he has put some powerful,
Starting point is 00:50:25 powerful, powerful people in place to share the word of God. Amen. Listen, I want you to be faithful in your giving. Continue to be generous.
