Starting point is 00:00:00 You'll be seated. All rise! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I want to do something a little different this morning. I want to do something a little different. If you're a guest, welcome to 2819, our digital disciples.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Welcome to 2819. Everybody watching live, welcome. Today is supposed to be the final message in season two of a series called Wisdom and Wonder. And I want to do something a little bit different this morning because I feel compelled by the Spirit to do that. And in full transparency, I've traveled this week to preach. I have, and I'm just like, through a tough week, I felt this morning the Spirit of God just leading me to do something interactive, something different. I feel like too often we run into rooms and run out, we hear a lot of sermons, but it doesn't really get time to kind of sink into our hearts. And I feel like this morning, I want us to pray together. Because over these last couple weeks, like, yes, I have been the one standing here proclaiming this word, and Elder Eric stood up here and proclaimed this word during this particular section we've been in but really we're walking through the words of Jesus. And I feel like we need to take a moment this morning
Starting point is 00:02:43 before we run into next week and kind of let his words kind of get into our hearts through prayer, and I want us to actually work out some things together in this room across this chat, and if you're not a follower of Christ, I don't know what this is going to feel like for you. I'm not even sure if i'm that concerned um if at some point in time you get uncomfortable you feel like you need to
Starting point is 00:03:13 leave you're welcome to do that but for the followers of christ right those of us who actually belong to him i want us to kind of spend some time praying through some of the things that he has said. This is what I feel in my heart. Huh? Can I do this? And I want us to kind of wring out of our hearts some of the things that are adverse to the things that he said. That is, there are some things that the Lord has said to us over these last couple weeks from his word. That in our hearts there are places that are fighting him in that area. And I want us to turn this room into a prayer gathering of transparency. I'm just freestyling right now.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Like none of this was written this morning. I want us to turn this room into a place of transparency. I'm just freestyling right now. Like none of this was written this morning. I want us to turn this room into a place of transparency. I hope I can remember this for the next gathering. I want us to turn this room into a place of transparency. Confession.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Petition. I want us to ask. I want us to confess. I want us to go before God and wring out some things in our heart. Can we do that together? Can we do that together? And if you feel like you got to get out your chair, if you got to lay down on the floor, if you got to walk the room, whatever you got to do, but we're going to lay out our hearts before the Lord this morning. Can we do that? Just hold one pad for me, Sam. So let's do this first. Let's look at these last final verses in this section. This will probably be the shortest message I ever preach.
Starting point is 00:05:09 You're laughing, I'm dead serious. Let's just look at these last final verses, and then I want us to go back and spend some time just kind of praying through some of the things God says. And, you know, I'm not a man bound by protocol. I don't care if this feels abnormal. I'm not trying to follow culture. I'm trying to lead a people deeper in intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Like we're trying to make disciples and not just church attenders. We're trying to make disciples and not just church people. People just come and hang out. It's like, I'm past that already. Right? So I'm not bound by culture and by protocol. I'm bound by the Holy Spirit. And I'm going to be faithful
Starting point is 00:06:00 to do what the Holy Spirit tells me to do, even if it makes people feel uncomfortable, even if you don't understand thank you for your prayers so can we do that together as a family all right so let's just let's just look at these last final verses, and then I want us to pray through some things together. So in this season of this series, we're looking at Matthew chapter 13. These last final verses is just 53 through 58. We're just going to walk through them together, just talk, and
Starting point is 00:06:44 maybe I'll answer some questions at the end. I don't know what I'm going to do. I just want to follow the Holy Spirit. Is that all right? You comfortable right there? Matthew chapter 13 and verse 53. So I don't have any title. I don't have any of that today.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I'm just going to freestyle. Can we do that? Amen. Can I do that, Elder? It says, and when Jesus had finished these parables, what parables? What parables? We know in this series that he's taught us the parable of the sower.
Starting point is 00:07:41 That there's different types of hearts that responds to the word of God. Those hearts in the room, we're going to pray about that. We know that he taught us the parable of the weeds, that in this life there is good and evil, and they will coexist until the end, and that they are sons of the kingdom, and they are sons of the devil. They are people who God has chosen to himself, called to himself. He's redeeming a people to himself all around the world, And unfortunately, they are human beings who are pawns of the adversary. They are being used by Satan to frustrate the plan of God in the earth, to sow dissension in churches. There's witches that go into churches trying to cast spells on pastors. Better not crumb up in this room. Our roots is deeper than yours. Every witch and warlock, we serve notice on you.
Starting point is 00:08:34 You have no authority in this room. You have no authority in this church. We know you like to hang around the anointing like flies like to hang around light yeah and you keep hanging around the only thing that's going to happen is your spells are going to dry up and you're going to come to faith in christ so you're going to run from this presence that's the only thing that's going to happen. You're either going to come to faith in Christ or you're going to run from this gathering because you have no authority here. I'm talking to all y'all witches and warlocks
Starting point is 00:09:20 watching me across this camera trying to curse my name, trying to curse 2819 Church. Our roots are stronger than yours. Yeah. We're submitted to a stronger spirit than you. The spirit that we're submitted to is much stronger than the spirit that's leading you. So we pray you get saved saved we pray you come into the knowledge of christ we pray you come into the kingdom in the name of jesus we pray you get set free from the demonic influence that you are under i'm talking to you i'm talking to you.
Starting point is 00:10:06 That you are enjoying the camp of former witches and former warlocks who got the testimony that they ran into a spirit that was much greater than the Devil. Somebody shout out to God. We ain't afraid of no demonic force. Man, greater is he. The scripture says greater is he. Greater is he. The scripture says greater is he. Greater is he. Watch. Who is in you than the devil that's in the world.
Starting point is 00:11:01 And why do you talk about him so much? Why do you talk about the devil so much? You give him too much credit. He's on a leash. He can only go as far as God allows him to go. And just maybe, there's no no, it's a first island, just maybe there's no no it's a first island just maybe maybe if you feel attacks of the enemy like i have the last month the last i'm talking about heavy attacks against my family against my children against my marriage i'm i'm telling y'all heavy attacks that I don't talk about from the platform.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Maybe, maybe if God is allowing the enemy to get that close to you, maybe he's bragging on you from heaven. Maybe, like Job, he's saying, go ahead, have your way for a little bit. Watch, they won't curse me. Watch, they won't stop praising me. Watch, they'll come to church and still lift up their hands in the middle of what they're going through. Watch, you won't be able to shut them up. You just watch how they won't turn their back on me. Somebody give God praise! Just watch. Watch how they won't curse me. Watch how they fall down and get back up and keep following me.
Starting point is 00:12:43 Watch how they carry their heavy heart into my presence watch how they carry their heavy mind into my presence now can i can i prophesy to somebody watch how you will not in the middle of your trial, turn to a bottle, a drug, pornography, overeating. You will not turn to other vices. Your only vice will be the presence. Your only vice will be the presence of almighty God. No, I'm speaking this to you. I'm saying to you, your only vice will be the presence of almighty God. I declare that over you.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Get the prayer team ready in a second. I declare that over you, Get the prayer team ready in a second. I declare that over you, that your only vice will be the presence of God. No, something is going to, I feel this, something is going to change right now in this moment. Your only vice will be the presence of God. I want to challenge some man who runs to pornography, some woman, some of us that run to alcohol, drugs, and other things. Some of us that keep running to people
Starting point is 00:14:15 that can't help you. I'm making a bold declaration today. I want y'all to get on the walls until I come for you. I'm making a bold declaration today. That today, after today, when our hearts are heavy and our minds are heavy softly, that our vice will be the presence of God. When I'm hurting, when I'm worried, when I'm dealing with anxiety, when I'm frustrated, I will run to the presence of God.
Starting point is 00:14:47 I will make prayer my vice. There is nothing you're running to that is stronger than his presence. All those other things are temporary. I don't even know how I got here. These parables, the parable of the weeds, he taught us about the parable of the mustard seed and the parable of leaven and he taught us about the parable of the treasure and the parable of the great pearl and the parable of the net, seven of them, seven. His his number of perfection these first parabolic teachings that Matthew gave us seven he said after Jesus had finished these parables he went away
Starting point is 00:15:34 from there and coming to his hometown he taught them in their synagogue his hometown was Nazareth you know that our Lord was born in Bethlehem. My wife and I have been to Bethlehem. It's dangerous for Christians. And my wife and I have been to Nazareth. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. And because they were killing children when he was born, trying to find him, his family took him to Egypt. And when they left Egypt, they returned to a city called Nazareth. I've been there. Lena and I have been to Nazareth. It is in a remote part of Israel, surrounded by mountains so far away from other cities that it was not even considered an important city. It was full of immorality and disconnected from the spiritual life of Israel. It was almost like the bottom of any city. You think about the
Starting point is 00:16:25 worst place of any city, any country, that's Nazareth. It's like, I almost said bankhead, but I don't want anybody to be offended. It's like, can anything good come out of bankhead? Can anything good come out of Queens? It's like, this is what Nazareth was like, okay? And so he went to his hometown Nazareth. He went up in the synagogue. It was his custom to be in the synagogue on the Sabbath, Saturday. He made a custom of going to the synagogue. What did they do there? They read the scriptures. They taught the scriptures.
Starting point is 00:16:54 They worshiped God. They taught children. That's where we got the model from, where we have now teaching, worshiping, teaching children. And the Lord was there. Anytime he was in a city, he was, teaching children. And the Lord was there. Anytime he was in a city, he was in a synagogue. Look at me, family. So he made a regular practice of being in the gathering of the saints. He didn't treat the gathering as common, right? And then it says, so that they were astonished, the people there were astonished at his teaching.
Starting point is 00:17:26 And they said to themselves, where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? So they're listening to him teach. Everybody watch. They have heard the reports of his miracles. And the people there, the locals are asking themselves, where did this man get this power? Like he was raised here. We know him. Where did he get this power? did this man get this power? Like he was raised here. We know him. Where did he get this power? Where did he get this wisdom? Watch. We know he didn't go to school. We know he wasn't trained by any rabbis. He has no master's degree, no PhD. How is he talking like this? And everybody look at me. Like on the surface, it looks like they're sincere. They want to know. They want to know. But sometimes, you know, people will ask questions of you and they're not really seeking for an
Starting point is 00:18:09 answer. They're just seeking to be antagonists. That's why you got to have discernment when you're talking to people. Sometimes people are trying to ask you questions or say something to you on social media. And these questions are veiled in skepticism. They're not really, some people will talk to you, they really don't want to answer. They just want to fight. They just want to argue. That's why you got to know when to be silent and when to talk, when not to engage and when to pull away. How do we know that? Verse 55, is this not the definitive carpenter's son talking about Joseph, his stepfather?
Starting point is 00:18:43 Is not his mother called Mary a common name? Are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? Are not his sisters here with us? He says, where then did this man get all these things? So they're saying, look, we know his father, Joseph, who died, that carpenter. We know his mother, Mary. We know his four brothers because Jesus was raised in a family. He was the oldest son. He had four brothers. Their names are right here.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Two of them went on to write gospel letters, James and Jude. It's preserved for us in the New Testament. They did not believe in him until after he was resurrected. They thought he was out of his mind. When he's resurrected, they put their faith in him. James goes on to write the letter that bears his name. Jude goes on to write the letter that bears his name. Two of his brothers write letters. We know he had at least two sisters or more, so it's seven children or more. In verse 57, it says they took offense at him.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Why was they offended? They was offended for something I see is very pervasive in Christendom. And I'm almost finished with the text. We're about to pray. You know why they was offended? They offended because of familiarity. And they have a low view of him because they knew him. It's we knew you since you was a boy we knew your family there's nothing special about you there's nothing special about your family ain't nothing you didn't come from nobility you didn't come from anything that was
Starting point is 00:20:18 regal so now they are offended at his teaching offended offended at his miracles. Man, this reminds me of how, like, you know, people will hold you to a season and something you used to be, right? They try to hold you to an old iteration of yourself. There's some people can't respect the God in you. They can't respect the person you have become. So every time they talk to you or come around you, they try to handcuff you to what you used to be, handcuff you to a season. They see you with familiarity. And you know what familiarity does? It destroys honor. It destroys value. It diminishes proper esteem, right? Don't you do the same thing and we do the same thing to the Lord, right? Because we see him on bracelets and we see his name on t-shirts, we devalue his teaching. Some of us, you've been around church so long, you're
Starting point is 00:21:10 familiar with him. So somebody can read the scriptures and it's boring to you. So you need to be entertained. You need to be moved emotionally. You need to feel goosebumps in a gathering. Why? Because of familiarity. Just the name of Jesus should make you feel some type of way. And wherever there is dishonor, dishonor is a boomerang. As you throw it out, it comes back to you. So we throw out dishonor at the Lord and it comes back to us. It robs us of the best of what he wants us to have. And so there is familiarity here amongst the people because they're familiar with him.
Starting point is 00:21:51 They can't see him right. Just like many of us, we can't see him right. I think somewhere in 2nd Corinthians 5, Paul talks about, man, we used to see the Lord this way as worldly. We saw him through the eyes of the flesh. And when you see Jesus as being diminished, you see him as only a prophet or only a man. You rob yourself of what you, it's like to them, he's not the son of God. He's just a carpenter's son. Can I tell you something? Like if you only see a carpenter, he might build you a table. But if you see the son of God, he might build you a table but if you see the son of god he might build you a transformed life so is he just a carpenter or is he the son of god right and so it says they were offended at him sometimes there are offense that we commit and we have to repent
Starting point is 00:22:41 for that and sometimes people are offended not because of anything you've done. They're offended because of their mischaracterization and misunderstanding of who you really are. Jesus says to them, but Jesus said to them, a prophet is without honor, except in his hometown and in his own household. And he did not do mighty works there because of their unbelief. And so we see the damage of familiarity. It breeds contempt. Familiarity breeds contempt. It breeds dishonor. And the Lord has taught us in his word that there are some things and some people we should honor. He's taught us in his word we should honor him. We should honor the kingdom and everything that is sacred. The scripture teaches us that we should honor elderly people and not disrespect them. The scripture teaches us we should honor parents, even if they abandon you, even if they
Starting point is 00:23:38 were crackheads and junkies. It just says, honor your parents for this is right and just honor them. The scripture teaches you should honor teachers who teach well and live well you should honor elders who teach well and live well the scripture teaches you should honor one another romans outdo one another and honor the scripture teaches us we should honor marriage and not trying to destroy the marriage of other people you ratchet woman, you. You ratchet man, you. Honor marriage. Stay away from somebody's spouse. Stop lusting after them when they don't belong to you. She said we should honor marriage. And because of their familiarity,
Starting point is 00:24:29 he couldn't do a lot of work there. Imagine the Son of God is present and he's handcuffed by unbelief. Unbelief is powerful. It limits what God can do in our lives. Faith is powerful, but unbelief is powerful. There, the message is over it was all of what 10 minutes shortest message i ever preached now i want us to pray okay and listen to me what i want us to pray and the prayer team y'all over
Starting point is 00:25:01 the room y'all gonna walk and pray as we talk about this. Just walk the room and pray. Everybody listen to me carefully. We got like 10 more minutes together. And here is what I want us to pray about. I want us to pray about these seven parables
Starting point is 00:25:20 and as we pray, I want you to search your heart and pray. Here's the first thing i want us to pray about if you need to get out your chair if you need to close your eyes if you need to bow your head don't look at me because this ain't entertainment matter of fact let me sit down so i'm not your primary focus so I don't know. I just, I don't know. I want to obey the Holy Spirit. This seems awkward, right? I don't care. I don't care. The first parable was about different types of hearts.
Starting point is 00:26:03 I want us to pray about the first three because I know it's in the room. Hearts that are hardened. That is when you hear preaching, you got places in your life, you don't let the word go there. Areas in our lives where we fight God. You know it. You know where you fight him. You don't want to give. You're scared to give. You think every preacher is going to take your money. You're scared to serve. You're scared to be faithful. You're scared to forgive somebody you need to forgive. I want us to pray about areas in our hearts that are hardened. I want us to pray about areas in our hearts that are shallow.
Starting point is 00:26:34 I want us to pray about areas in our hearts that are worldly, thorny ground. You know all the areas in your life that are worldly. You love Beyonce more than Christ You know all the areas in your hearts are worldly, you know, there's worldliness Yeah, you know, there's so much worldliness in your heart. You love worldly things You love the things of the world and nobody confronts you about that You know why because fake preachers keep you comfortable in sin When the scripture says anybody who loves the world,
Starting point is 00:27:05 you are an enemy of God. And one of the things I pray over you all the time, that you would hate the things of the world. You would hate sin. You will hate lawlessness. You will hate debauchery. You will hate everything that is anti-Christ because the scripture says anyone who loves the world, you make yourself an enemy of God God and you wonder why he won't answer your prayers because of all them idols you got on your heart you love people in the world more than you love Christ you will stand on line for a concert for a rapper but won't come early for church let's pray right now team, walk the room and pray. We're praying about the condition of our hearts. And if you don't got nothing to pray about, you're a liar.
Starting point is 00:27:54 We're taking one minute and we're praying about the condition of our hearts. If you need to get up, if you need to walk the room, if you need to get in the aisle, I want you to pray about your heart. Ask God to search your heart. Is there anything in my heart that is not like you? Is there anything in my heart that is not right? Is there anybody I'm holding in unforgiveness? Where is my heart shallow? Where do I need more depth?
Starting point is 00:28:23 Where am I running from you? Why don't I like the scriptures you why don't I like the scriptures why don't I like to give why am I not generous why am I afraid to tithe and give offerings why do I see money as something to hoard why do I keep racking up debt and buying things I can't afford? Why do I judge people all the time? Why am I critical? Why am I hypersensitive? Pray about the issues of your heart. Now, we're going to do that today.
Starting point is 00:28:53 In this moment, something is going to change for us as a church. If you're watching online, man, you pray too. This ain't no, I don't even know, this ain't no I don't even know this ain't no show pray about the condition of your heart
Starting point is 00:29:12 ask God to give your heart that is receptive to teaching receptive to the scriptures receptive to the Holy Spirit we want receptive hearts, humble hearts, pure hearts, consecrated hearts.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Or pray for someone else. Pray for your parent, your brother, your sister. Pray for people you know got messed up hearts. Don't worry. We're not taking up an offering today and we're not making no announcements.
Starting point is 00:29:53 I'm going to release you from God's presence right here in prayer. I'm going to obey the Holy Spirit. I don't care about no protocol. Sam, you all right? Y'all all right there? You can play too Frank I want everybody to pray
Starting point is 00:30:08 about the condition of your heart please your heart is dark it is wicked it is worldly you have idols in there there's things in there you love more than Jesus confess your sin
Starting point is 00:30:22 repent ask God to give you a new heart ask God for a surrendered heart I'm serious ask him for a surrendered heart a pure heart a consecrated heart ask Jesus to open your eyes that you can see him and all of his glory and splendor. The scripture says from the abundance of the heart, your mouth speaks all the issues of life. They come from the heart.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Some of your issues will go away if you get a transformed heart. Some of your marriage issues will go away if you get a transformed heart. Some of your marriage issues will go away if you get a transformed heart. Somebody take this jacket from me. I feel the Spirit of God. Some of you things will change in your family if people get a transformed heart. It's the heart. It's the heart. Give us new hearts.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I see people shedding tears. Yeah, you got things in there that are so sinful and so dark. It's blocking you from the best that God has for you. It's blocking you from going to another level. It's blocking you from favor and open doors. There's things in there you want that God does not want for you. Some of you, your dreams is an idol. vision is an idol you need God's will why don't you surrender everything and say God I just want your will whatever my life is supposed to be I just want your will you get one life one you want to make it count for the Lord man wring out your heart
Starting point is 00:32:23 your heart. Your heart. While you're praying, I want you to pray about evil in the world. Anybody who can, just pray about evil. There's evil in the world. Pray for the spread of the gospel. Pray for the planting of churches. Pray for pastors who God has called. Pray for ministry to grow. Pray in these last days that the spread of the gospel will reach all of the world.
Starting point is 00:32:58 We're praying because there are weeds. There are sons of the devil trying to stop what God is doing. Pray against evil. Pray against attacks in your mind, in your heart, in your family. Pray for the spread of the gospel. Pray against evil. You've been under attack. Fight it now in prayer. Everyone that's been under attack, fight it right now in prayer. Pray for your marriage.
Starting point is 00:33:24 Pray for your house pray against the devil pray against every demonic force that's coming against you no weapon formed against you will prosper Come on. We're living in the last days. We got to pray against evil. Pray for the spread of the gospel. Pray for the work of Jesus to be established in other nations where people are bound by strongholds and false religions and lies.
Starting point is 00:34:22 You got brothers and sisters that's being persecuted outside of this country by demonic forces. They're being put to death. They're being killed. They're being raped. They're being molested. They are fighting for their life against demonic forces. Come on, let's pray against evil in the world. Pray against wickedness, against God's people. Pray against the sons of the devil. Pray for salvation. Pray, pray, pray. Somebody waits war in the unseen realm.
Starting point is 00:35:13 It's the parable of the leaven, the parable of the mustard seed. Pray for the spread of the gospel. Pray for the work of Jesus to grow in your heart, in our nation, in this city, in the world. Pray for the world. Pray for the growth. It's the parable of the net that people we know, they're going to hell. Pray for every unsafe person that you know. Call them by name. Your your father your brother your sister your

It's the parable of great perils. Pray that we will see the kingdom as valuable. Pray we will exalt Jesus above everything in this life. Pray that you will love Jesus more than anything in this life. Pray that Jesus will be exalted on the throne of your heart.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Pray that we will love nothing more than Jesus in this life. Come on, pray. Jesus, you'll be exalted. Jesus, I'm going to love you more than everything in this life. Jesus, you are my priority. Jesus, you are my heart's desire. Jesus, you are everything that I want. Jesus, you are more valuable than everything I have.

Starting point is 00:38:46 Praise him. Hallelujah. Father, we exalt your name, Father. We thank you and we glorify you. Father, we leave this place but never your presence. We thank you, Lord, that we're leaving changed and lighter in the name of Jesus. We thank you, Lord, for touching our minds, for touching our hearts, for touching our bodies. In the name of Jesus, help us to run from sin.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Help us, Lord, to hate sin. Help us to desire your presence. In the name of Jesus, we want to encounter the living God. Help us not to put people in your place. In the name of Jesus Jesus from this day forward may we know and recognize the true and living God I speak peace in your mind I speak healing in your body and may you walk in the fullness of who God has called you to be I come against lies of the enemy and tormenting thoughts.
