Welcome to 2819.
Some of this might be foreign to some of you.
I hope you get used to it because this is what heaven's like.
Worship.
And more worship.
And more worship.
And more worship and more worship and more worship.
We're not oblivious to the fact that some
might be coming here because you have a curiosity
about this God that we say that we worship,
about Jesus, the Christ,
Yahshua, Amashia.
And we just always want to let you know
that you can belong before you believe,
that you can keep coming,
you can experience the move of God
and feel his presence.
We just ask that you keep coming.
For all of our digital disciples,
we welcome you.
Across the screen and in the house, we're not,
we're not oblivious to the fact that some of you,
we push that you
join a local body
so that you can be involved in something like this
and where you are you might not have
something like this
and we're praying
that at some point in time
that can be rectified and fixed.
But until then, just hang on.
We pray that more disciples are made.
That this fire is shared all across the world
until we see him or he comes back for us.
We want to honor and worship
until the day arrives.
And forever and always,
while I
board this platform, this altar
there will never be a day that I get up here and not give honor
to the person, the man, the visionary
the one who laid down his life and
sacrificed it all, Pastor Phillip and Miss Lena,
we honor you.
I'm even going to ask everyone,
all eyes on me, all eyes on me.
I'm going to ask everyone to pray for Pastor Phillip and the first family.
And they need prayer because next week he'll be returning.
So before we leave, before we leave today, we're going to be praying for them.
Okay?
Okay?
Okay?
All right.
Wisdom and Wonder, Season 6, Episode 2.
You ready? That didn't sound like a, episode two. You ready?
That didn't sound like a lot of people.
You ready?
Thank you, gentlemen.
Let's get into it.
I don't want to assume that you know where we're about to go.
We are about to read from Matthew chapter 17, verse 14 through 20.
Matthew chapter 17, verse 14 through 20. Matthew was an outcast Jew who lived in the first century
A.D. He was a man who was converted to Christianity by the Lord Jesus himself.
He became a follower of Christ, then an apostle of Christ, and finally a martyr of Christ, dying for what he believed.
And he is the one who wrote the book in which we are reading out of the book of Matthew.
And today I want to tag a title to the message that we're going to be going over.
And the title is called Twisted Faith.
Twisted Faith. twisted faith so father right now we thank you for everything that you've been doing for us lord the things
that we see and we do not see good and bad lord we want to honor you as we believe in you and
your word and it's in j Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Alright.
Do we remember the message from last week?
L-R.
L-R.
What's the first L?
What are we looking at?
The glory of Jesus.
R. Receive revelation of Jesus. R.
Receive revelation of Jesus.
L.
Listen to the word of Jesus.
R.
Repent.
So that we can get closer to Jesus. And as we finished off that message last week, one of the things that I was blessed to see was an abundance of individuals who chose to follow Jesus last week. But I don't want to leave us in disarray about where we're going.
We have to remember where we came from to know where we're going.
So, just so I can give you context and not assume
that you know what faith is I'm gonna give you a very simple definition there
there is a super churchy definition y'all know what it is that we have the evidence of things not seen? No? Who knows the churchy definition?
The evidence of things not seen, the substance, things we hope for.
Anybody know what that means?
So I'm going to give you a definition.
It's not as impactful as the churchy definition.
But it's to give us a somewhat understanding so that we can move forward. Okay?
Okay?
Let me... I am an individual who likes feedback.
So if I'm asking you a question, it's not for no reason.
Okay?
So I want you to respond back.
Okay?
Okay.
All right.
Faith.
Faith is trusting or believing in someone or something,
especially something or someone, something that hasn't happened yet. Faith is trusting or believing in someone or something,
especially if it has not happened yet. This is a stage. Right now we call it an altar, but let's take it for what it is, right? It's a stage.
I am approximately 280 something-ish pounds. And it would be real crazy if this thing caved in on me.
But the reason why I stand up here is because I trust and believe that that is going to hold me up.
Regardless of if it's shaky or wobbly, because it's been tested.
Hallelujah.
Jesus is someone we have faith in.
Because he said that he's going to return.
And he's going to gather everyone who says that they believe in him,
and he's going to take everyone with him.
Because he's been tested and everything that he said has come to be true
and I can believe what he said for the future
even if it's shaky
or it seems like it might not be stable.
And I know some of us, some of our technical individuals would be, well, the infrastructure of the platform was made by certain beams of wood
that guarantee a certain amount of weight.
You just saw a choir up there, sir.
Of course it can hold.
As if Jesus isn't the one who created the molecules and particles of the wood.
Faith is something that we need to have.
But not in the wrong thing.
Matthew 17, starting in verse 14, it says, And when they came to the crowd,
a man came to him and kneeling before him.
Pause.
I'm a technical reader.
So for me, I remember last week,
the last thing that we read
was then the disciples understood
that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist
and they were on the mountain.
Right? was speaking to them about John the Baptist and on Sundays on Sundays I find myself
um bringing two 14 year old boys to church for the majority and when I leave I have five I don't know
um Jesus be multiplying I have five. I don't know.
Jesus be multiplying. I'm trying.
They wind up capturing friends from all over the church and wanting to chill with them after church on Sunday.
So I have, I have, I have two.
Marcus and Jeremiah.
But along the lines, there becomes a Malachi and a Caden.
And Caden, we love you.
We always find ourselves having a plethora of young boys at our house and inevitably
there are times when they wind up doing something they're not supposed to do and
I become a detective and I line them up and I say hey hey, you three, be quiet. You tell me what happened, and you better not lie,
and then he tells me his story, and then I tell him to be quiet, and I ask the next one,
and then I ask the next one, and the next one, And the reason why is because when I ask the first kid,
something just don't add up.
Like there's bits and pieces of the information that's just been left out
because they're only seeing it from their point of view.
So once I get the information from all of the boys now i can piece together the entirety of the story
of what happened so today we're going to be flopping through scripture to get the entirety
of the story by going through all of these synoptics the the synoptic gospels
okay so for me i needed more information well that extra information comes from luke 9 37
i'm i hear pages flipping i'm trying to wait why are you flipping look at the screen though
you can you can test me and and see if I'm lying uh checking it later so just pay attention okay
Luke 9 37 on that day when they had come down from the mountain a great crowd met them
Okay, so what piece of information that I just get that I didn't get from Matthew
They came down the mountain and
Today, we're going to learn how to go through the scriptures and piece together the information that has been given to us. Okay?
All right. So as they came down
to the mountain, as they came down the mountain, I also remember in the scripture, it said that
someone came kneeling. Y'all remember that? All right. Well, why was he kneeling? Matthew 17 and
15 gives us information about that. After he was kneeling, he said, Lord, have mercy on my son,
for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire and often into the
water. And I brought him to your disciples and they could not heal him. Again, there's information that I don't know.
So I went to Mark, Mark 9 and 17.
And Mark 9 says, and someone from the crowd answered him,
teacher, I brought my son to you for he has a spirit that makes him mute and whenever it seizes him it throws him down
and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid so I asked your disciples to cast it out
and they were not able to
so this lets me know this ain't an ordinary healing.
It's not.
I'm just trying to make sure that your leg is okay.
And just for reference, not even reference.
I just want to make it clear that here at 2819, we stand behind the scriptures.
So if it says that there are demons,
I'm not going to argue with you. There are demons. If Jesus encountered them, then they're real I'm not going to argue with you
if speaking in tongues is real
it's in the scriptures
and because it's in the scriptures
it's real
I'm not about to argue with you
if Jesus is God.
What he said is what I'm going to stand on.
His word is above everything, even my understanding. So I just want to be clear. Is that okay, elder? I want to be clear. We're not going
to argue with you. Well, I believe that speaking in tongue. No, I'm not arguing with you.
I believe what the scripture is saying. So if it said that a spirit, a demon made him mute, then it made him mute.
And if Jesus had to cast it out, it wasn't a spirit from the Lord.
But it does bring me to another question. Why couldn't the disciples cast them out?
Why couldn't the disciples cast it out?
Well, Mark gives us some insight.
Mark chapter 9, verses 14 through 16.
And it says, when they came to the disciples, they saw a great
crowd around them and scribes arguing with them. And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him,
were greatly amazed and ran up to him, him being Jesus, and greeted him. And he asked them, them being the disciples, why are you arguing about,
what are you arguing about with them? What are you arguing about?
I know how to do a lot of things. And if I know how to do something and for some reason I try and do it
and it doesn't work. Yep, that's it. I ain't got nothing left to give. It didn't work. My boys were,
my boys been trying to do long work and everything else for other people, not for my house.
It's really weird.
Y'all got to pray more.
They want to do yard work for other people, probably because they pay them.
I ain't doing that.
They've been doing yard work for other people.
And the weed eater, it wasn't starting for the boys.
So I said, you know what?
Daddy's on the way and I went outside and I did everything that I could to start it and when it couldn't start yeah well
ain't nothing I can do about this so why were they arguing? Well, if I would have went out with a sense of confidence
about, well, I know I can make it start.
And if I would have went out there and I tried to start it and it wasn't starting
because the scriptures say that it was a scribe was there if you
really if you really are one of his followers why can't you heal him then it
then if Jeremiah would have said oh I thought you could start it now it's very easy for me to argue with a 14 well i can
because i i became so confident and prideful
in the thing that i thought i could do because i had done it before
and these individuals were given a gift from God.
And that gift was to go out healing.
Remember, not that long before that,
Jesus told them that they had been given the gift to heal
and to go out and proclaim his name
unto all the world.
Well, not on all the world.
At this time, it was just in the cities that they were in.
But if you couldn't heal,
that means that you became so confident in the gift.
And now you arguing with people about the gift.
Instead of the person who gave you the gift.
And had the power within the gift.
They put their faith. Their trust and belief in the gift
uh James Ferguson thank you uh I was talking to my brother and he he made a statement I just
twisted like I fixed it a little bit twerked it a little bit. But it just brought me to this. Faith
outside of Jesus is idolatry.
If I put my faith in anything else outside of Jesus,
then I idolize what I put my faith in. I go through, I talk to a lot of the
single men and a lot of the single women and some of the ones who are engaged. And they always have
this like thing where they say, oh, I love you and Erica and how y'all are and da-da-da-da-da and oh, y'all, uh.
Now, now mind you, my wife bad. She a 10.
And I have to let people know, like, my wife a 10.
I'm a good seven.
On a good day, I can talk my way up to an eight or nine.
But I have to let them know because they always have these questions about,
well, I want to start dating or I want to get married but what if they and I have to let them know man like I hope you don't think that I'm putting my faith and trust in my wife
again my wife bad.
I know for a fact it's always somebody that's probably trying to holler at her.
But it's not, oh, I think that I'm so good that these individuals that want to get together
it's not it's not her and it's not me because I see her put her faith in Jesus
and she puts her trust in Jesus and she doesn't want to hurt Jesus because I still have insecurities that I'm
dealing with but it makes those insecurities move out the way because who she puts her faith in
is the same person't put my faith in her.
I put my faith in the Jesus in her.
Because the truth of the matter is, she can promise me that she'll never leave.
But what if she passes away?
The only one that I can honestly put my faith in is the one that I know for a fact will never leave me nor
forsake me
so these individuals have taken their gift and and they've put their faith in their gift. As if Jesus doesn't control the gift.
And let's be real.
Our father is a good father.
He's not going to snatch your gift away.
But he will absolutely snatch the influence that comes with it.
So yeah, you can sing,
but will it matter if nobody wants to hear you?
And your only other option outside of him
is to sell your soul to the other one.
And he'll give you fame and fortune
and everything else you want at the cost of your soul
so if we put our faith in anything else outside of jesus it is It is idolatry. Matthew 17, 17.
And Jesus answered,
O faithless and twisted generation,
how long am I to be with you?
How long am I to bear with you?
Bring him here to me.
And Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out
and the boy was healed instantly.
Now, the hood in me
read this a certain type of way. I ain't saying, I ain't saying this how it happened.
I'm not saying this how it happened, but this is how I read it.
Boy, when I read it, it was like Jesus was bucking like, you faithless and twisted generation.
How long am I to bear with you?
How long am I to be with you?
See, we be focusing on the healing so much.
We don't be paying attention to what he's saying.
So why would he say that? Why would he say that? Well, there's only two things that I see that would give him reason to say that. Only two. And Mark chapter 9 verse 22 through 24 gives one of the reasons. And it reads,
and it has often cast him into the fire, talking about the boy, this is the father, to destroy him.
But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. And Jesus said to him, if you can, if you All things are possible for the one who believes.
Then immediately the father of the child cried out and said, I believe, help my unbelief.
The first reason that I see Jesus would say something like this is because we don't believe he is who he say he is.
Oh, but I do believe he is God.
Or do you believe that he's your savior?
No, not everyone's, yours.
I dealt with this for the longest.
I remember preaching and not being saved because I thought salvation wasn't for me.
Do you believe that he can save you?
Or do you believe that he's a redeemer?
That he can actually take the situation
that you messed up
and fix it
and make it better than what it used to be
or do you have
an issue with him being
a healer
because I haven't been healed yet as if
he's not the same Sin is hard and hard to not sin.
Some of y'all are like, no, you just have, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Everybody's on different levels. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not finna sit here and rebuke you. I just know, for me, the scriptures say that even my thoughts,
I can't even think a certain way because Jesus says that it's a sin.
But to know that he can keep my mind.
So when I do want to think a certain type of way,
all I have to do is put my trust and believe in him.
We believe. I believe, but help my unbelief. we believe
I believe but help my unbelief
I believe that you can do it
because I heard all these other people say
that you can do it
I've seen you do it in other people's lives
can you do it for me though
I don't know if you can do it for me, though.
And I pray that we are broken from that today.
The second thing that I see, Matthew 17 verse 19. It said, then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,
why could we not cast it out? Well, we already talked about this.
What was the thing that was most likely hindering them? They put the faith in there
instead of God.
And when we put our faith in our gift instead of God,
it's very easy for things to...
It's almost like water.
Water is used in the house.
And you can cut the faucet on.
Faucet. Y'all know what a faucet is?
I don't know.
Is that a southern term?
I think that's the actual technical term for it.
Don't.
I'm from the south.
I don't know.
Forget all that.
You can cut the sink on.
And the water can flow.
But if that got clogged up with all kinds of junk and everything else, the water's still there but if we fill it up with pride
if we fill it up with
oh I deserve
or I know who I am
and what I can do
it's very easy for us to clog up
the motion of what's supposed to happen
with the gifts that we've been given.
Okay? 1 Peter 4 and 10 and 11 says, as each has received a gift, you have received a gift.
Use it to serve one another as good stewards of God and his very grace and we'll leave it at
that oh it's my gift to use for whoever I want when I want but that's not what
the scriptures say verse 11 whoever speaks as one who speaks oracles of God
whoever serves as one who serves by the strength that God supplies in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
To him belongs glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. But we've been taking our gift and using it for our glory.
I am the prophet. I am the evangelist. I am the preacher, the teacher. I, I, I, I, I. And the problem is we've turned all of society into this show of faith
instead of real faith. So now churches are popping up everywhere and everywhere. People are using their gift that God has given them to draw all men into them.
Instead of lifting up Jesus and letting him draw all men into himself.
And when the influence is shut off, now we complaining.
How dare they leave my church?
How dare they do this?
How dare they do that?
You know what?
Let me call up so-and-so
because I know he'll get a crowd in here
because he has a gift.
And we, other gifts leaning on other gifts.
Influence being shut off.
And how many times has your gift been halted or stunted because of your arrogance of thinking that you are who you are. I had to confess Monday.
I felt entitled.
What?
He had to confess.
Yes, yeah.
I felt entitled like I deserved some things.
And God had to check me and say, do you not trust me to be the one who puts you in the certain
situations that you need to be in? And the ones you don't need to be in, do you not trust
me to be the one to make sure everything is going to be okay? Do you have to be the one that does it because that's not creating disciples that's
creating fans well I'm the one who does this at my job don't nobody else know
how to do this at my job you probably want to teach somebody or or or that replacement coming, hey, Saul.
You the king, Saul.
You the one, Saul.
You went out to slay all these Philistines, Saul.
You don't want to listen, Saul?
Oh, your gift is the king, but I'm going to shut all that favor off, and then I'm going to raise up somebody else to take your place.
We put our faith in the gift and not the glory of God. Matthew 17, 20.
He said to them, because of your little faith, for truly, why is he saying this?
Because they just asked him, why couldn't we heal the boy?
Everybody with me?
For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain, move from here to there,
and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. Let me fix theology right here, because we've been teaching this so bad and so wrong for so long, as if we need to have more faith,
or grow faith, or have bigger faith. that word little faith is this word
oligopistos oligopistos i'm messing that all the way up
oligopistos it's a greek it's a greek. Those two words that we use, it was a Greek word and
it describes someone dull to hearing the Lord's voice or disinterested in walking intimately with
him. So it's not about how much faith you have versus how close you are and the problem is we've been on the outskirts of Jesus's vicinity
for so long because we know that the closer we get to Jesus the more he points out the things in us
that need to be fixed
and because we don't want them fixed,
we stay back just a little bit.
I know I'm walking with you, Lord.
When you take a step, I take a step. because we take this scripture and we use it oh well you know as long as i can hold the door
in heaven how perverse is that where you just want to do the bare minimum so we sit on the outskirts of God's favor and God's glory and we just do just enough and when
when when I need something or when when the healing ain't happening or when the thing ain't
coming or when the thing ain't going or when things aren't happening the way I want them to happen, then I try and get closer to so that he can fix it.
Fix it, Jesus.
Fix it, Felix.
We're treating him like he's the movie or a game or a genie.
And once he fixes it, thank you you and now i go right back
we're putting we're putting our faith in other things or just not believing at all.
Not believing he is who he says he is.
And there is a verse 21 that got removed because it mimics Mark chapter 9, verse 29.
But it's Matthew 17, verse 21 that they removed.
And it says, but this kind never comes out except through prayer and fasting.
And that sounds all good and dandy.
And it sounds like, oh, oh, shantayet.
He said, you faithless and twisted generation.
What is the, why do we pray and why do we fast?
We pray and we fast to get closer to Jesus.
And here it is.
He's, I'm right here I'm right here and you
don't understand the power you have I'm right here and you don't understand the things that I do, I'm right here.
You don't believe in what I say?
I'm right here.
You don't believe who I am?
He's telling us,
oh, you think I'm talking about just them
because he said that he will leave us
a wonderful counselor
and that counselor will live inside us
and he will be all around us
and he will work through us
and he will be for us
and you still don't believe that he is who he says he is the Holy Spirit has the power just
like Jesus has the power just like the Father has the power because they are all one so who is he to you and right now
right now
today
there have been some of us
who just keep coming
and we keep coming
and we keep coming because we need
a savior
we need a healer
we need a redeemer
as if he's not here
so today as if he's not here.
So today,
today you have the opportunity to meet him.
Not because,
oh,
we're going to do something spectacular.
He is spectacular.
Some of you have been feeling that urge of him calling you.
And you've refused to move.
Today I pray you move. If you need healing, come down.
If you need to be delivered, come down.
If you need to be you now, what you need is here not because I say so but because the Lord says so
so right now whatever it is that you need don't wait for me to give it to you don't wait for
somebody to have to touch you to give it to you you ask from the one who has everything to give
it to you so talk to him now if you're for salvation, ask him to forgive you now for what you did.
Tell him you're sorry for what you did.
Ask for forgiveness for what you did.
If you need healing, ask him for healing.
Ask him to heal your mind, to heal your heart, to heal your physical ailment.
Because we put our trust in him and him alone. And right now, Father, I pray, Lord, that you meet every
individual, Lord, that is coming to you. Lord, that you will touch them, Father.
That you will give them the thing that they need, Lord, so that you can be glorified, God.
I believe that you, Father, are able to do all things, Father.
And we speak right now healing in your name, Jesus.
We speak peace in your name, Jesus.
We speak redemption in your name, Jesus.
We speak delivery in your name, Jesus. We speak redemption. In your name, Jesus. We speak delivery.
In your name, Jesus.
We speak salvation.
In your name, Jesus.
That it is you.
You.
You, Father.
Father.
You are who we need. So it is you who we cry out to Oh
Jesus Terima kasih. Jesus Jesus
Jesus
heal your sons
heal your daughters
these are your children father
and you are a good father. Jesus.
Jesus. And right now, Father, we pray that you move, Father, this mountain from here to there. Not because of anything that we did, Lord, but just because we believe you, Father.
And we are going to move closer to you, God, to be more intimate with you, Lord.
May you be glorified in our healing, in our deliverance. Lord, may you be glorified in our
financial freedom. May you be glorified, Father, in the redemption, God, may you be glorified in our financial freedom.
May you be glorified, Father,
in the redemption, God, that you are giving.
May you be glorified in the salvation, Lord,
Lord, that has been given unto us.
Jesus, we thank you.
We believe you. We believe you.
We trust you.
We put our faith in you.
That even if we cannot see it,
we believe in you.
And right now,
everyone, right now, everyone, right now, we honor you with our praise.
Hallelujah and amen.
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Nobody's stopping you right now
If you need to stay here, stay here
Get what you need to get
Get what you need to get. Get what you need to get. Don't just stand there and spectate, pray.
Pray.
Pray.
Pray.
Fill us, Lord. Fill us up, Lord.
Fill us up, Lord.
Fill us, Lord. Thank you. Hallelujah

to come against every weight that will be upon their shoulders and their home. The man of God,
he give his all. Amen. And so we want to pray that he'll be restored and ready. And I come
against every agenda and attack of the enemy. We thank you, Lord, that even now your hand is upon our leaders.
We are a house of prayer.
So together, corporately, we call on the name of Jesus on their behalf.
We thank you that even now every demon is fleeing.
We thank you for the work of God being done in their life.
May the power and the presence of God knock on their doors.
In the name of Jesus,
disrupt anything that will try to take them
out of the presence of God.

over Miss Lena's head,
