Josh was telling us off air.
He's got something exciting going on today.
Someone's coming over to build a shed on your property.
I'm excited for you because I had a lot of fun with that process.
It's always fun to watch someone else build something for you.
In a way.
And the shed is so useful.
I love sheds.
I love having one on my property.
I'm excited for you.
Yeah, I'm excited as well.
It's been a long time.
We pay for storage.
We've got a, you know, the kids that have moved out, we got some of their stuff, whatever,
and it just ended up being cheaper to get a shed.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
You had to build this shed to shelter other people's property?
That's part of it, yeah.
Oh, what a night.
That's a little over half of it, yeah.
But I've always wanted one, and now I'm a real suburbanite.
Yeah.
Finally, after all these years.
You had to build a shed because you're still.
Step kids can't hang on to their own stuff?
Well, it's primarily one.
As a matter of fact, it's exclusively one.
What kind of stuff is in there?
I mean, if you're up top of your head, you know, that it's so important, but they don't need
right now, but they might need in the future?
Yeah.
Would they mind if we come over and go through everything?
We've done that.
Do storage wars?
Hey, look, a dildo.
They're moving into a house soon enough, and I can't wait to drop a lot of this stuff off.
Oh, I bet.
Whose dildo is this?
There's not a dildo in there.
My parents had so much fun with that.
It was the, when I moved back over to Minnesota from Wisconsin,
my mom and dad took advantage of the fact that I still had stuff at their house,
and they loaded up a trailer with everything that I left there.
I love that.
And said, this is no longer our problem.
You're a grown person now.
Get your stuff out of here.
It hurt a little bit because some of the stuff was from my childhood,
like art projects and stuff.
don't you want to keep some of this?
No, they don't. They're like, do you?
They don't care about your stuff.
They didn't like it the first time you brought it home,
and they definitely didn't like it 20 years later, actually.
That is very interesting.
Like, hey, do you want this back?
No, not at all.
Do you mind if we chuck it?
Well, why would you ever chuck something like that?
Don't you love me?
Yes, that is very interesting, that line of thinking.
Well, a few people, a fellow shed folks are texting in saying,
welcome to the club.
Yeah, it's fun to have a shed.
Always want one.
Wish I knew how to build one.
Ah, who cares if you don't know?
I'll creepily stare at these guys from the window.
That's what I did.
It's going to be a hot day today, too, so.
Oh, that's a bad.
This is a bad shed day.
Make sure you really make your presence known from inside the air-conditioned house.
With a big tall, like, lemonade or Gatorade, full ice.
Put a hood.
Well, you always wear a hoodie.
Make sure you got a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up.
You know, because you're just so chilly from the air-condition.
Yeah, I'll just talk to.
him through the window, but guys, it's too hot for me to get out there.
So if you need anything, just knock on the window.
No, you don't even open the window to yell out to him.
You call them on their phone with the windows closed.
I was telling Smashley and Josh, the first time I had a shed build for me,
and hopefully, Josh, you get to experience this as well.
Hopefully this first shed being built on your property one day is absolutely destroyed by a fallen
tree.
Weeks after I get it?
Well, I think I made it.
I don't know.
I think my first shed made it maybe a year before a giant tree came down and
popped it like a zit on prom night.
Just, pah, just destroy.
There are a couple big trees by it.
And then these guys had to come back and do it again.
But I was telling Smashley and Josh about the first shed that was built on my property.
It was also built on a really hot day like today is supposed to be.
And I stared.
at the workers from my air-conditioned home,
at least through half of the job.
But I was telling them about how much I enjoyed this crew that came over.
I swear to God, there's no chance any of these.
There was three guys, three guys, building, I don't know how big the shed is.
I have a lot of problems sometimes answering questions about my person.
personal property.
That was funny.
Off air, you asked me, well, how big is it going to be?
And it's going to be 12 by 12.
And I said, yours is about the same size.
The sales guys like, this is probably the most popular size we sell.
Yeah.
And you're like, I really don't know.
Yeah, I don't know.
I thought you were going to come.
I thought maybe we'd have the exact same size with it.
We probably do.
I have trouble answering questions about my belongings.
Specifically, when people will ask, how many acres do you have?
I don't know.
Why would I know that?
Because you bought the property?
I don't know.
It's sort of big, but it's not large.
I don't know when I don't care how many acres.
How big is your shed?
I don't know.
Big enough to put a lawnmower in there.
That's a shed.
I don't know.
I don't know these things.
But I really got a kick out of these guys that came over to build my first shed.
It was hotter than hell that day.
Not a one of these three kids was 21 years old.
chance. No chance. He's like, refresh out of high school kids.
I got to admit, when I first saw him, I was like, wait a minute, this is the crew that's
going to, they were all skinny as a rail, looked like none of them had eaten in weeks,
and none of them had a shirt on as they walk up on my property. And I thought to myself,
this is the hotter than hell. They took twice the cigarette breaks that they did compared to
water breaks, even though it was 100 degrees out, they just kept burning heaters.
They would duck under a tree every 20 minutes and smoke a cigarette to get out of the sun
and maybe have a little bit of water.
And I was telling myself, well, this is going to be a disaster.
They were frigging.
They were so fast and so good at what they were doing.
But I'm guessing they had done this a thousand times since they got out of high school,
which it was about two weeks prior to when they came.
It was just, they just flew through it, flew through.
I couldn't believe how fast it was, and it turned out beautiful,
but again, that tree destroyed it and they had to start all over again.
So hopefully you get an entertaining crew like that.
Yeah, I hope so, too.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Hey, you always like to do nice things when workers come to your house,
and workers, as we all know, are constantly at your house.
Pretty much.
Stopping by a cart and a cigarette on the way home.
Honestly.
Yeah.
What if one guy just realized, he's finally done smoking, though?
I don't quit.
Then the rest of them can take the same.
More cigarettes for the others.
Maybe I'll see if there's a request before I do something like that.
I think that'd be fun because usually you go out and get them some lunch or you get them some gatorades.
Bring back a carton of smokes.
Yeah, thanks for all.
People are sending in nice texts on sheds and advice on how to handle the shed and whatnot.
If things go south of my personal life, Josh, can I move into the shed?
If you want to, sure.
It's got a window on it.
All right.
You've got a little sunlight.
It could have options.
Could have a fallback plan.
I'm stopping by to see Dana in the summer.
If he ends up living in Josh's shed, I'm stopping by to see you.
Mainly in the summer.
I want to see how you're doing in there.
I've got one of those crappy, like the fans that kind of missed you a little bit.
Just doing my best to try to stay somewhat.
Yes, it's going to have to be battery powered.
We don't got power out there.
Can I run an extension cord?
I don't know what the rules are on that, but I'm fine with it.
The winter.
It's not insulated.
Oh, God.
Winter would be fun to come see you, of course, but mainly in the summer.
I want to see you sitting in there.
Because you guys know me, I don't need a reason to sweat, but sitting inside a shed in
Egan, Minnesota on a hundred degree day, that's going to be a disaster.
I bet you'd remove all of your body hair.
That's one of the reasons I've never been in the shed at my house, Dana.
I've never stepped one foot into that thing.
I've no idea what it looks like in there.
So you walk in and you just feel suffocated already?
Yep.
All I know is there's some stuff in there, and I call upon me.
my husband when I need something and he finds it in the shed.
Why don't you want to go in there?
There was a bees nest like two years ago.
And after that, I'm like, yeah, I don't need to go in there.
It's too hot.
It's like musty in there.
Babyface Destroyer Jesus said a carton of smokes cost the same as a shed these days.
Oh, seriously.
I can only afford one shed.
Somebody was in front of you buying a couple packs of heaters the other day and I cannot believe
how much it cost you.
What is it like 70 bucks?
Maybe even more than that now, 80?
I was unbelievable.
I was like, are you serious?
Did they double-scan those or something?
Yeah, people are also telling me that no one smokes cigarettes anymore.
Josh should pick them up a log of zins.
Oh, yeah.
Zins are very popular.
I haven't seen the billboards for that.
You need to figure out their age range before you do that.
That's the fake chewing tobacco?
Yeah.
No one smokes cigarettes anymore.
They say cigarettes aren't cool anymore.
What?
Make cigarettes cool again.
Cigarettes are always going to be cool.
Well, that'll be something.
Josh. Do I seem a little
manlier today at all?
I mean, if that's possible.
Without a doubt. Maybe you're building your own
shed, sure. You're giving up a vibe.
I wish I knew how to build my own shed.
Thank you. I already feel ashamed, Dana.
Nobody cares if you don't know how to build your own shed.
Yes, you are more manly. You are going to
stare out the window
and watch other men do
work for you. That's as
manly as it gets in my book. That's pretty
tough. How many acres
do you have over there?
Like a quarter of an acre, I think.
And I think it's funny that I just called you out,
and I'm the guy whose wife does everything around the house.
You asked me how to put a screw into a toilet paper holder once.
I sure did.
Sure did.
And in the picture, I saw the screw that fell out of the toilet paper holder.
I'm so incompetent.
Oh, data.
On Friday, I had the opportunity for the first time in almost 30,
years to operate a bobcat.
Thanks to the guys at Lano out in Shacoppe.
Lono.
Awesome dudes.
Kind of like WAMO?
Different.
So it's L-A-W-N-B-A-N-Bas-O.
Lano.
Lano.
And they let me, you know, silly on their part, but they let me get behind the yoke,
the sticks of a bobcat.
Sure.
And I thought, well, this is crazy.
They're going to let me do this.
But I'll tell you what.
They have advanced a lot.
in 40 some years.
So I landscaped like 30 years ago.
They would barely let me use it because
the foreman on the job didn't want to
dig holes and move rock.
So that was kind of my job.
How'd you do?
You know what? I did pretty good.
You didn't get that some bitch jumping the way they
you know how they bounce if you don't know what you're doing.
They kind of...
No, it wasn't bound. And I got to do a little off-road and too,
but they've come a long way. It's super fancy now.
There's air conditioning in there.
Oh.
And that you're not like using your...
your feet anymore. You're not using both arms to, you know, operate the thing. It's just one little
joystick on the left side. It's like the fanciest thing I'd been in a long time. And that wasn't
even one of the fancier ones. This is just kind of how they are now. How fun did you have? How much
fun did you have? Oh, I had a lot. And you know, I'll tell you what, I could have went a lot
longer, but I was afraid they're going to be like, okay, dude, you know, we get it, but they were
awesome. I loved those guys. It was a lot of fun hanging out with them. It's cool that they
let me do that. I'm jealous. That sounds like a blast. Yeah, I want to do it again. And then I
decided I want, I want one.
I just want one to car, just go around the neighborhood and dig stuff up.
Just go to the gas station, get a mountain doing it.
Or reach upper cabinets at my house if I need to get out some fruit loops or something.
When you got into the cage to operate that bobcat, did you turn your hat backwards?
No, should I have?
Oh, yeah, that would have been sick.
You always turn your hat backwards when you do manly stuff like that.
Dang it, I didn't do it.
That also is very, very attractive when men do that.
Oh, you know, I think I've got video of it.
Video of you driving.
Yeah, they sent me a video.
And it had been, how many years?
I would say almost 30 years.
Dang.
I remember in elementary schools in third grade, I looked out the window.
They're doing some type of project outside.
And there's a guy in a bobcat driving the bobcat around doing his thing.
And he had like a large found drink for McDonald's.
I'm like, that's the coolest dude I've ever seen in my life.
He's just sipping him out and do while driving around some heavy machinery.
What a pimp.
That's how you do it.
That's how you do it.
What are you got here?
Video of you driving a bobcats.
Well, there's a picture of you.
Oh, this is video.
Okay, there's Josh inside of a bobcat.
There's someone showing them how to do it.
You look very confident.
Why are you speaking into the video like it's a television commercial?
They asked me to say, because I think they put on their website.
They put it on their website.
There's Josh driving a bobcat.
He's going this way.
He's going that way.
Oh, God.
Ashley, are you okay?
How did the bell get over here?
Ashley's pregnant stomach just crashed into the bell
You look comfortable in it, Josh
Well, I had some experience, but I was nervous
I was hiding the nerves I was definitely nervous
Well, you don't look nervous
Sand Farmer Jesus said how are you able to get the lap bar down
With that giant erection in the cat?
You're a heavy machinery kind of a guy
Oh
Well, there you go. What else is going on?
Speaking of Bobcats, I've always thought
to be cool to go in one of those places
where they have a construction equipment
you can't mess around with like the
operated crane. Oh, like the sandbox.
Yeah, that type of thing.
I thought that would be fun. I bet Josh would bet you would
really like something like that. You know, it's crazy.
The extreme sandbox? Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
I've been wanted to do that forever and I don't know
why I have it. I keep hearing about joints like that,
but never been.
I'd probably end up. I'd end up killing something.
Yeah, me too. This person says
the problem with buying a bobcat is they
cost more than a cart and a cigarette. Yeah,
That's true. I'd imagine they probably do.
Although somebody texted in and said a carton of cigarettes is over 100 bucks.
Yeah, 120, 115 people are telling them.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'd probably end up killing somebody over at those.
How did you describe it a minute ago?
Drive your drive to...
Extreme sandbox.
Drive our heavy equipment around for fun.
What about one of those?
I'd end up killing like the older guy that works there
who's weeks away from retirement.
You know.
Oh, somebody said the extreme sandboxes no longer.
Yeah, I opened up their website and it said temporarily closed.
Yeah.
What happened?
What the heck?
Isn't that like Mark Cubans thing?
I don't know.
The extreme sandbox?
Yeah, from Shark Tank.
Mark, he owns that?
Yeah, I think so.
I didn't know that.
I thought it was a local thing.
What about those places where you can drive a tank and just go over like a Ford Fusion or something like that?
What I got?
married. I tried to push that kind of stuff so bad.
Like things that you would do at a bachelor party.
It's like, can we go paintball in or can I like drive a tank or shoot a bazooka?
Like something cool.
Nobody was down.
Well, no one wants to be around you if you're handed a bazooka.
That's true.
That is true.
But how cool would that be?
When you're moving out of your last house and I stopped by right at the very end of you moving,
so everything was already packed.
I think I moved one lamp into the truck.
you go, oh, I forgot something.
You come running back out just holding a rifle.
I've never been so terrified in my life.
Well, because I saved the most important valuable things for last.
I was like, I've got to get my guns now.
Ashley just comes running out and holding a shotgun.
I was not expecting you to be standing there.
I was like, oh, hi.
I'm still traumatized.
Hey, Covey, if those fellers have any materials left over
after they're done building your shed today,
give them an extra hundred bucks and tell them to make you a skateboard ramp.
Yeah, I think the guy was like, hey, you know, when they were out here,
if you decide there's an extra something you want, they might do it.
It'd be kind of cool.
Take me back to...
Half pipe.
Take me back to the late 80s, early 90s.
Or you could be adorable and do like a matching doghouse next to it.
I'd need about that size, though.
Yeah, true.
Hey, it's Dana.

The half-assed morning show.
Backtracks.
Let's give a word up to a feller here in town by the name of Emmett.
Where do I have his information?
Cubby, tell me what you think of this set up here.
And you guys can tell me a lot about this, I'm sure.
So there's a guy in town, he calls himself Emmett.
He got fed up with the constant price hikes on streaming services.
Tell me about the price hikes on streaming services.
Is that something that keeps you up at night?
It doesn't keep me up at night, but it is frustrating that,
You know, what used to be about $7 a month is now about $30, it seems like.
Well, the tough part is it's everything.
Any subscription, really pretty much anything you buy is more expensive.
Right.
Adds up quick.
I finally just canceled a few that I haven't used for a couple months.
And I can't wait until something comes out that I want to watch on one of them and I have to buy it again.
I got your password.
Sometimes you're treated better as a non-customer.
Like when you join, hey, we're going to give you all this free stuff and a wicked deal on this for a year or whatever it is.
That's a good point.
All right, so this Emmett character decided he'd go in a different direction.
Didn't like the price hikes on streaming services.
Didn't like the fact that apparently they constantly remove some of his favorite television shows and movies.
So what did he do?
He's got a pop-up movie rental business.
Awesome.
I think this is pretty cool.
I don't quite understand.
We'll go ahead, finish it.
explain. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He calls his operation sloppy disks and you give him a few bucks.
He shows up four or five times a month, typically at bars and coffee shops, and you can rent a DVD from him.
He's got 250 DVDs. It says you can search his collection on his website. I went to the website.
I can't find a single movie. But he typically brings 100,
movies to each pop-up. So if you still have a DVD player, I guess this is your
alternative to streaming services and all the fancy, schmancy new stuff they've got going on.
Well, read the prices, though. That's why I don't fully understand how this is a better deal.
I wish him nothing but success. But when I got to that, I thought, well, my goodness,
I think streaming services are cheaper. You give them $15.
And then you can rent all the movies you want for $5 each?
$5 each.
The $15
is a deposit,
so if you don't bring back
the DVD,
he gets to keep the $15
bucks.
But when you're done renting
DVDs, you get your $15
back.
Does that seem like a lot per movie
compared to a streaming service?
A little bit, yeah.
Yeah, especially because you can rent
most movies for like $3.99, $4.99.
Yeah, and there's a couple
of streaming services I have.
I think there are $7 a month
or something like that.
So, I mean, you watch two movies.
And again, I hope he's very successful.
but you watch two movies and you're already over.
Okay.
So his per movie price is a little higher than what you get on streaming services.
Seems that way to me.
All right.
Yeah, maybe a buck a movie might be a better deal,
but as somebody who worked in the rental industry,
has experience in the industry,
I do kind of like that.
He's trying to revive renting movies again.
Well, you like everything that's, everything that's,
what's the word I'm looking for, Josh?
Retro.
Retro.
Nostalgia, retro.
You're a very nostalgic and retro guy.
You'd support anything under that theme.
I really do, yes.
Shell Jesus has texted into the program to say,
I have over a thousand DVDs.
Shell Jesus.
Well, hell, you should be the top competitor to this Emmett guy, then.
Get out there and rent these out to fools.
I have noticed a lot more people kind of going back
of getting DVDs because people are realizing that these streaming services, you don't own anything,
you know, by they can take things away.
By having a DVD, you can physically watch it any time you want.
And people are starting to realize that by spending this money on streaming services,
you don't physically own the media.
You're basically just borrowing it for a charge each month.
I've thought about that before, but I rarely, rarely watch a movie twice.
Okay.
I'm one done for sure.
I can watch it.
I have something I used to buy digitally.
I can watch it any time.
So you're saying you prefer to have the physical?
Yeah, a lot of people are saying they would prefer to have a physical copy of it that they technically own and can't be taken away.
Because the digital thing in the cloud, it could just go away someday.
Okay, that's how I used to be with compact discs, even when I have no idea, what do you call these new gimmicks?
So we can listen to music.
Streaming?
Streaming.
Okay.
Spotify.
Spotify, things like that.
Right. Even after that kicked in, I was still buying compact discs, and my friend would say,
why do you buy these things when you can just punch a button on your phone?
And I had a thing for a brief period of time where I had to, well, I still like having the CD itself with the cover and the lyrics and whatever pictures and information.
I still, I like that gimmick. I know it's foolish.
Recently, I finally turned my DVD in, DVD player, is how you say it.
I turned my DVD player into a thrift store,
Goodwill type of a place, and I believe I also turned in
most of my DVD movies and things like that.
Will I come to regret that?
Potentially, I don't know. We don't know.
You'll probably be fine. Probably fine.
Yeah. I gave way all my DVDs,
and I just kept the ones that I know will never be on streaming services,
like maybe like certain concert DVDs.
Oh.
Or, you know.
And you still have the DVD player?
I still have a DVD player for that reason.
Now, that's definitely an advantage to owning something in case it just goes away.
Right.
You can't find it someplace.
Josh, didn't we know a guy years ago who kept all of his DVD porno movies,
and there were a lot of them?
Hell, we heard from Shell Jesus, who said they have, he or she has,
well, I'm guessing it's a he with the Jesus name, a thousand DVDs.
Can you guys even think of what your total number was at any point?
I bet I had one point I had about 1,000.
I would probably be, you know, small hundreds, 100, maybe 200, if even.
Wow.
Yeah, we never really had a lot of those, like when I was a kid.
We'd never had, like, a huge stack of DVDs or anything, maybe like 10.
Well, we didn't even have a VCR until I was in high school.
So we never had any of that growing up, but when I got older, I would buy it.
And then eventually I'd buy the ones that came with a digital copy so you could, you know, bring it with you.
Where in the hell did you keep a thousand DVDs?
In my parents, I was a junkie back in the day.
There was one of those buy-sell trade media stores in my neighborhood
where, you know, you could go and buy a used DVD that somebody else turned in for four or five bucks, you know.
Oh, cool.
So I was a junk in that we had two big bookshelves in our basement, you know, those Florida, you know,
I can't describe it really, but two of those big bookshelves and they were chock full of DVDs.
That is so cool.
I was always so jealous when I went over to my friend's houses and they had stuff
like that. Just like whatever movie you wanted to choose. Oh, it's so cool. I maybe had 50 or so and
half were concert DVDs, um, band documentaries and things like that. Wrestler documentary. Oh,
sure. I like that. But anyway, um, a thousand sounds like an insane amount. I just don't know where
the hell I would put them and, and how I would, how I would justify that, um, because there had to be a good
percentage of those DVDs, Dana, that you never even looked at.
A thousand? My God.
But I was going to ask Josh, didn't we have a guy maybe that worked in the building here back in the day
that had an immaculate collection of DVD porno movies and he kept them in alphabetical order?
This is a story I heard and he would dust them off and make sure they were in pristine condition.
Yeah, he still does.
And it's not just movies.
It's any type of porn from any genre, any year.
I mean, going back to like the 40s.
and he has it all in these protective sleeves, right?
Dust-free sleeves.
He has World War II porn.
Everything.
Jeez.
He's got, like, he's an aficionado of all of it.
Magazines.
Boxes upon box.
I should say bins.
You know, they're plastic bins full of them.
Categorized.
Now, I like naked movies just as much as the next guy,
but that sounds like maybe he has a problem.
Yes, that's a little scary.
Dude, yes.
This guy, he does.
masturbates all the time.
Oh, yeah.
He tracks, like, how many times he's masturbated to each.
No, he does not.
I'm kidding.
Oh, my God.
You know what, actually, knowing him like I do, he might.
He's very detailed.
That scared me.
Can you imagine?
Oh, that was a real good session right there.
I just gave you the same look that I gave you in the hallway a day or two ago, didn't that?
Oh, yesterday?
Was it yesterday?
Yeah, on the way out, I messed with Nick and told him I was having lunch with a particular person.
I'd say the name, but nobody listening would know who it was.
But the look you gave me was half.
Actually, three quarters disappointed dad.
And one quarter, I think my friend just cracked up.
Yeah.
Like, he just went insane.
Josh told me he was going to have lunch with a very, very, very, very questionable character.
And I bought it because you are the type of guy.
who would sit down and try to help anybody.
And you know what?
There is a part of me that would be willing to do so,
but I understand it would be a terrible idea.
Nick, I totally would have believed him too if I had been there.
I gave you the same look right there
when you claimed the dude tracked his masturbation
and kept it all on record.
But sure, I'm not making that up.
This guy pays closer attention to his porn collection
than he does his loved ones.
He watches over it.
He guards it.
He has a lock on all the boxes.
He dusts them off.
He keeps them in alphabetical.
Come on.
That's a little scary.
I don't like that.
Dana,
I don't know how I,
if I were you and I had that many DVDs,
I don't think I would have gotten rid of them.
Because it sounds like,
something like that is awesome.
Like,
that's different.
Did it hurt when you got rid of them?
Not really, to be honest.
I mean,
because a lot of them were,
I mean,
like,
when am I going to watch rat race again?
You know, that type of thing.
So, no, it didn't really sting too much.
I kind of, like, I kind of just downsized over time.
It wasn't like I just dumped off 1,000 DVDs at Goodwill in one city.
And I just, I kind of just, as I moved, I was like, okay, am I going to watch this again?
No, probably not.
So it was a slow process of eliminating these.
Because if I worked at Goodwill and you walked in with a bucket of 1,000 DVDs, I might choke slam you.
Because I know, as an employee, I'm going to spend the rest of my friggin' day sort of.
sorting through these.
Yeah, making sure that the DVD matches the case, making sure it's not scratched.
Now, Dana, the statute of limitations is by far run out.
And it's a bad, you're already smiling.
I think you know where I'm going with this.
The company is no longer in existence.
You worked at Blockbuster.
Yeah.
How many of those videos did you steal?
Well, we got a lot of them for free.
We did.
They just gave you some?
Yeah, because, you know, they start off with, you know, a hundred copies of Kill Bill
when it first comes out, and then they whittle it down.
and they try to sell some,
and then when they get to a point
where it's like,
all right,
we have this stack
of kill bill DVDs.
We're never going to sell.
And then employees could have them.
So yeah,
I didn't steal any,
but I did get a lot of the collection
from working up Blockbuster.
Oh, I would have stole so many.
A lot of people did, actually,
and I would just watch them do it.
We have some people in our listening audience
who have or had
an incredible collection of home entertainment.
High Hopes McGee, Jesus.
I own 500 DVDs.
100 TV box sets.
Oh, I think he means like a complete collection of a television show.
I used to have some of those.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That was great.
I mean, before you could watch, stream them.
I had all in the family.
I had good times.
The complete box set.
I wish I could tell you I got through.
I had Beavis and Butthead.
But I never got through most of it.
700 digital movies says High Hopes, McGee.
Jesus.
I can understand the nostalgia, though,
because I'm kind of going that way with books now.
where before I would just read them on a tablet or something like that,
and now I'm buying them or going to, well, mostly going to the library,
but buying some, because, you know, there's a particular author you like,
you can buy their new book usually for no extra cost.
It would be autographed if you're interested.
So I do a lot of that for some of my favorite authors.
I will always prefer a physical book.
Mostly, I just, it's not, it doesn't hit the same when you read it on like your phone or tablet.
I hear you.
Yeah, it's nice to give your eyes a break too at some point from staring at a
a screen. It's just, you know, for me, it was like, well, then I could have a ton of books on this
thing for whatever I'm into, you know, at the time. So I did really enjoy that, but now I'm
kind of getting back more to the regular ones. Gunslinger Hippie Jesus said he inherited his
great-a-a-a-a-s vintage VHS porno collection, which included a copy of Jane Bond
Bonds'i. I bet that was a classic. Sounds good. Probably a lot of Peter North and
Christy Canyon involved in those vintage porno movies.
of our listeners has over 3,000 DVDs in their home right now.
Man.
Many people are texting in to say that they have a thousand thousand of DVDs.
That's the type of mosh pit I like to be in.
Highest number possible.
So yeah, anyway, I'm a little upset that I couldn't find.
Again, we started talking about this dude named Emmett here in town who goes bar to bar,
coffee shop, the coffee shop, and sets up his pop-up DVD rental.
business called sloppy disks.
I was a little upset when I looked on his website.
It says right here you can look at his collection.
He's got 250 DVDs to choose from.
It says if you can look at his collection on his website, I couldn't find any of them.
I wanted to know if he had Angel or avenging Angel on DVD.
You guys probably don't remember the Angel movie series.
I remember you talking about it, but I can't say I...
My brother and I fell in love with the Angel movie series when we were probably
I don't know, seventh or eighth grade kids.
It was on HBO.
It's about a hooker, and she's hot, and all of her friends are hot.
And so they're naked, most of the movie.
And there's a killer on the loose, killing all the prostitutes,
but Angel and her friends solved the crime.
I was hoping maybe he'd have a copy of Body Double.
Body, I'm looking at the list right now.
I was able to pull it up.
How do you find it?
Does he have body double?
It does not have body double.
Well, then forget it.
Does he get new ones for a rental, or are these just older movies?
I'm trying to look right now.
an alphabetical order, you know, almost famous,
Apocalypse Now, Atonement.
Oh, I don't know, Atonement, but certainly Apocalypse Now.
I don't recognize any of the movies.
Unbelievable, some of the...
Apocalypse Now?
No, in his...
So he has, like, a picture of him sitting at his little table here.
And the movies that are up front that he seems to be, you know,
most proud of, I don't recognize any of them.
Well, that's your problem.
Like Monkey Man?
That's a monkey man.
Do you guys know that?
Hugo, the wizard.
Well, there's the Wizard of Oz, but...
Well, maybe he's showing off
a bizarre movies on purpose
for a joke.
But I'm telling you one more time,
I thought everyone was getting rid of this stuff.
Our listeners, some of our listeners,
as I'm reading text,
wow, you have an immense collection
of movies and this and that
on DVD, on VHS.
Wow, O'IWA.
This guy's webster.
It's pretty cool.
I must have clicked on the wrong thing or something.
Yeah, you must have.
The one I was on had no information at all.
It had one picture of the man, and it mentioned a pop up or two.
Of course, he has the Fast and Furious franchise.
But it doesn't look like he has all of them, Dana.
Looks like the only one who's missing is too fast, too furious.
Maybe you could sell it to him for a huge number.
I got copies for him.
Here's a question that Josh, maybe you can answer.
And the text message begins with this.
Question.
that's my favorite way to start
yeah
do the newest PlayStation and Xbox
play DVDs like the old ones
you know what I was going to ask that too
we have an Xbox
the latest version
my son plays it I don't
I think it plays DVDs
okay
you have a PlayStation don't you Ashley
I have an Xbox one
and it plays DVDs
it doesn't really like
anything that's not Blu-ray
it looks like crap
I mean do they
even sell them at Target or Best Buy anymore? I know I've seen them like within the last couple of years
and their section the section where they sell them is tiny now compared to what it used to be.
I did used to love walking up and down those aisles. Oh, that was the best.
They sell them at Walmart, but they're usually in just like a huge bin in the middle of the aisle.
And you dig through movies that, you know, even like TNT wouldn't play at midnight.
I've gotten a little, you know, crazy. And I'm like, I might as well look through that and I bought a couple
movies and there's actually I found them the other day. They're still wrapped. I haven't watched
him at all. Welding while ginger Jesus has texted in to say, comment.
I have 750 books, he says, and he claims that's enough to meet the legal definition of a library.
Oh, that's cool. You know who I need to ask?
My, take it easy, Cubby.
My sister.
I wonder how many books she owns.
I wonder if it can top the 750 that welding wild ginger Jesus has in his home.
My sister has.
It's just, it's obscene.
I'm so jealous.
I want more books like that.
They're so expensive, though.
And my mother also is buried in useless, boring books.
People that are telling me I can watch Body Double.
I was going through a couple of my favorite movies from the 80s,
and I loved Angel, Avenging, Angel, Body, Double.
People are telling me I can watch that on 2B
or other things that I don't understand.
So I can find these movies if I want to.
I'm like you, Ashley, though.
I noticed when I bought all these movies when I was younger,
that I never rewatched them.
Comedy's all rewatched, but that's about it.
So it just kind of became a waste of money.
The only time I ever rewatched movies was when I didn't
have Wi-Fi yet. When I lived in Minneapolis for a little bit, I was like, well, what the heck
am I supposed to do? I can't watch TV. I don't have Wi-Fi. And I thought, oh, my gosh,
I have DVDs. And I watched The Simpson movie, I think, like, 10 times a week at least.
It's so boring. When your kid gets older, you'll likely show them some of your favorite
movies. That's, we've re-watched some of those. I'm so excited to do that. I'm really excited.
I've told my husband I want him to grow up on, like, the cartoons we used to watch.
So I'm excited to play, like, Rugrats, Looney Tunes, stuff like that.
I still rewatch movies all the time.
My God, once a week, I watch Tombstone or Young Guns.
Didn't you say you were going to send us some links on this Emmett guy?
I don't see anything.
Oh, I send him to Josh and Ashley.
I don't know if you know.
Do you want me to send it to your email?
Yeah, he doesn't do the other deal.
Yeah, I want to see what this guy's got.
Okay.
So someone's like, oh, you guys are talking a lot about DVDs.
Do you like CDs?
I do.
Yeah, I also love CDs.
Get back to us with more on that.
Yes, we love CDs.
Especially fitness CDs.
If I could listen to a fitness CD.
Why do you ask, text us, why do you ask if we like CDs?
Was there a movie or a concert movie, if that's how you're?
say it that you watched regularly when you were a kid? Yes. Regularly. What was it?
There's a couple. Spaceballs watched that a ton over and over and over and over. And the movie
RAD, the BMX movie RAD. We watched that a ton. Okay. Mine was Tommy Boy. Watch the heck out of
that. That's a good one. When I was in junior high and high school, just about every day when I got home
from school, I would watch Kiss Animalize Live, which was a concert they released in
1985 of them playing a live show in Detroit.
And my pal Dane, almost every day for three or four years, we would go back to my house
after school and watch that concert VHS tape.
We knew every, it was sick.
And then actually, maybe towards the end of high school,
we flipped over to Guns and Roses Live from the Ritz,
which came out in 88.
We would also squeeze in our regular cartoons,
you know, things like Tom and Jerry was a big one.
But I don't know.
I don't know what it says about me,
but every single day we would watch at least some of that kiss
or Guns and Roses live concert footage.
I watch a lot of that on YouTube now.
I've been watching a lot of it.
That's very easy to do now.
I've never wanted to tell you guys because I thought you would be disappointed in me,
but I absolutely hate live music like that.
Like listening to it on YouTube or on DVD,
I hate the crowd noise.
I hate the sound quality.
I just, I can't do it.
Sometimes the sound quality sucks, but other times it's great.
You don't like live music?
No, well, like if I'm in person, yeah, absolutely.
But listening to a live record?
Nope, never liked it.
That's one of my favorite things in the whole world is a live record.
You don't like the little differences or?
Exactly.
Really?
Really, the crowd noise?
You don't like when they really get into a certain part of a song?
You don't like that?
No, I hate it.
I think you might be out of your friggin' mind.
Okay, we got an update.
Somebody texting earlier and asked us our thoughts on CDs.
All of us were very favorable on CDs.
And he just wrote back, CDs nuts.
That's just rude.
Bitch bastard, low life, sneaky.
Why do we fall for that every time?
Underhanded, classless.
Ashley, you've never heard the intro to Iron Maidens live record Rock in Rio.
I don't believe so.
Well, I probably have because I imagine we've played it here.
It will change.
I'm surprised.
They hit the, there's what, 120,000 people at the,
the show or something, Iron Maiden.
This was on their brave new world tour hell.
This is 25 years ago.
There's a hundred some odd thousand people there.
They hit the intro music and it becomes, the crowd becomes so loud.
It sounds like a war is happening.
And then somehow they get even louder.
And it's one of the coolest things I've ever heard.
We've got to spend more time together.
I can't understand anybody who doesn't like live music on records.
whether you're listening to it
on a boombox on a Walkman, whatever,
on your cell phone, oh my damn.
I guess I've seen a couple
videos of things like that
and that usually sends chills down my spine
but I think it's because I can physically see it
and I'm like, oh my gosh,
like look at how happy the artist is
and how excited the crowd is.
I think I might need that visual
to go along with it.
So even bands you love.
Yeah, I will always skip their live
song if they have one on the album.
That's, yeah, that's weird.
I used to buy those all the time.
Anytime a band I liked had a live CD,
I wanted to listen to that immediately.
Oh, yeah.

Now, according to the godless, soulless internet,
here are the top things that can instantly ruin your day.
Has anything happened to anyone yet?
No, things have been smooth so far.
All right. Everyone seems to be doing all right.
Yeah.
I guess I did have that gross yogurt.
I kind of threw a wrench in my day.
Well, you had a...
Was it expired?
Well, no, it was yogurt.
Just in general?
Yeah, gross yogurt.
That's just redundant.
I just grabbed one and I didn't read it from the gas station.
A gas station.
And I didn't read it until I got here and it says dairy-free.
I was like, I think that's a key ingredient in yogurt.
It's a faux gert.
Yeah, not good, not good.
One bite in the trash.
Usually I can power through.
But nope, that was bad.
Yeah, okay.
So there's one negative for Ashley.
day. She mentioned it off air. I saw her take a little scoopy, took a little taste of your
yogurt and you said, ooh, that's not good. Do you have a heightened sense of taste? You said your
sense of smell is superpowers like. I wonder. I guess I haven't really noticed. It's got to play
a role, right? If your nose is all messed up. And you're not going to be buying that one again.
Nope, never.
All right, again, according to the godless, soulless evil internet,
here are the top things that can instantly ruin your day.
In an instant, they say, if even just one of these things plays a part in your day,
you can mark it down as a lost cause.
Things like getting a bad haircut or hairdo.
I'm safe.
Yeah.
I've got really one option.
Not a great concern anymore for,
some of us, Dana, how do you do it?
You walk in here every day looking like you combed your hair with a pack of
firecracker.
Yeah, I do.
I don't really style my hair for you guys.
I apologize.
But that is a bad feeling, though, when you get a haircut and you're watching them do it.
And they see they keep taking down lower and lower and shorter and shorter.
Why don't you speak up?
You know, they're halfway done.
You know, what are you going to do at that point?
And you just kind of walk out.
You're like, ah, well, I kind of don't know.
regret that. This is not the direction I wanted to go. Exactly. But now it's over. It's too late.
You know who used to dump bad haircuts? Who's that? My mother. Oh, really? Yeah.
Because my folks were cheap, of course. They'd sit us down in the backyard and give us haircuts when we were kids.
And every one of them was worse than the next. My dad would give us bowl cuts before we went back to school.
And then every summer shave our heads. That was his move. Well, speaking to being cheap in haircuts,
one time up at St. Cloud State, they had a cosmetology school type of setup, you know,
where you could get a cheap haircut from somebody who's learning, you know, the trade.
Oh, yeah, we went there.
Yeah, so we popped in there one time, and I was watching the girl so nervous.
I was watching her do it, and she kept like, okay, so mess up one, not mess up,
but take one side down and then go to the other and the other side would be shorter,
so then she'd have to even it up and kept going back and forth to the point where I had, like,
no hair left, basically.
And I was looking, I was just dumbfounded and how awful this looked.
And then I felt even worse because she goes,
was, would you mind if I took a photo of you for my portfolio?
I was like, this is portfolio worthy deal?
Are you kidding me?
You thought of it as a total nightmare.
Yeah.
She's going to use it on her resume.
Right.
Do you think it's a portfolio or this is just one of those burn books?
Yeah, we punked this guy.
All the people she's punked over the years and you're one of them.
We went right down to the St. Claude Mall and bought a new hat.
The top things that could instantly ruin your day, okay, starting with getting a bad haircut or hairdo.
All right, fair enough.
I'll tell you, Josh, what pissed me off once, where it ruined my day right from the get-go.
It wasn't anything that I should not have allowed it to ruin my day, but it did.
It pissed me off, and I just couldn't get right all day.
And that was when I fell on my face one morning while putting on my underwear.
Oh, that sucks.
You know when you're stepping into your drawers?
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
And my jagged toeness.
got kind of caught in the underwears, and my momentum took me right down to the floor and just
I can imagine you're just very upset with yourself.
Upset with myself.
I mean, it's the pain, the shock, the embarrassment, and that you're so mad at yourself for being so dumb.
I get very mad at myself.
You do.
I've seen it many times.
One time I saw you get really mad at a pickleball net, so it's not always you.
Sometimes it's external.
I get criticized by my wife for how pissed I get at myself.
And she's trying to eliminate that from my regular routine.
And it's the stupidest things, the littlest things that I blow up over at myself.
And she's trying her best.
I'm trying, I guess, a little bit to correct that because I get really.
Okay, so what?
I fell down while putting on a pair of underwear.
But I, oh, I couldn't get over it.
Okay.
What else?
Things that will instantly ruin your day,
according to the godless internet.
The wrong delivery order?
You get the wrong food or your food is late?
No, that doesn't.
That really gets me.
Especially if you're really looking forward to it.
I'm really guilty of that.
Like, it just makes me so angry.
Or if they forget my dipping sauce to game over.
I don't even want the food anymore.
You just give up.
We used to order a lot of food to the house.
We really don't anymore.
But I guess I'm pretty patient.
I'm pretty patient in that department.
Yeah, I don't, if it's late, whatever,
but it is a bummer when it's the total wrong thing.
Right.
Like it's not even close.
Yeah.
It seems like it usually kind of targets one person for whatever reason.
Is that person usually you and the family, Josh?
No, luck.
I mean, it gets me every once in a while.
It's usually my son.
Gotcha.
Feel free to text us, by the way,
651, 989, 93, if you have a suggestion.
We're talking about things that can instantly ruin your day.
Next up is having to take a dump right after you get out of the shower.
That wouldn't ruin my day.
No.
I mean, it's silly.
That's not a day ruiner.
It's oddly specific.
It's silly.
Not sure I've ever even thought about that.
Oh, yeah?
No.
Oh, that's entered my mind before.
It doesn't make me mad.
It doesn't come anywhere near.
uh, ruining my day. But I, I remember having that thought a few times where I think to myself,
well, for Christ's sake, I just got squeaky clean and now I got to sit down. Yeah, it's, it's,
it's silly. It's slightly frustrating. Ruin your day, no.
Millennial steel cutter Jesus said, stupid co-workers have to be on this list or the list is invalid.
Well, we'll get there. Josh, you've never once gotten smooth out the douche and you're doing the who's got the
cleanest body in the family.
Your porky pig in the towel back and forth.
You feel so fresh and so clean, and then it hits you.
Oh, for God's sake, I got to take a deuce.
Maybe if that's happened, it's never really registered as a negative to my day.
Sure.
Anybody ever got it? Mid-shower?
Oh, yeah.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
I was a reckless person for a while with just about the most garbage diet
in town. So yeah, it's interrupted about everything in my life. You name some, you name it, Dana,
and that has interrupted it. You bite the inside of your yap while eating. Oh, and then you always do it
again and again. It's never just once. That's another one where you feel so stupid. Yeah.
The older you get, the dumber you feel. That's, that's one of those, Josh, at the house where I
express the anger and disappointment I have with myself and my wife has to say, okay, calm down.
You know, she, like I was explaining.
It's one of those things to be like, you know, I've been eating for 50 years.
Right.
I know where my lips are.
Why does this happen?
A headache that won't go away?
Makes me think of bad overhangs is what that one makes me think of as we're talking about
the internet.
If I let that ruin my day, I would be having nothing but.
bad days for like the last month.
You get a lot of headaches?
Yeah, every single morning I wake up with one.
It kind of seems like my wife gets a lot of headaches out of nowhere.
You know, she's fine.
Maybe I'll suggest an activity that a husband and wife can do,
and then she's got this headache.
Oh.
I think she should go to the doctor for it or something.
Yeah, that's a good idea.
I see where you're going with that.
I almost never get headaches.
I'm going to knock on wood here.
I've been very lucky.
I'm very thankful.
I've known some people like you, Ashley, who there are a regular headache getter,
especially people to get migraines.
Right. Oh, gosh.
Dabilitating.
I knew those were bad, obviously.
Everyone knows.
But I lived with somebody who used to get them,
and I didn't realize how bad they were.
I'm not trying to be unsympathetic to anyone other than my brother.
But when we were kids, my brother would get really bad migraines,
and it was hilarious.
I mean, was it?
Go ahead, sorry.
I used to think that, like, I used to think I had a migraine sometimes until I really got
my first one and like the vision goes out you like you just you can you can't operate at all and I was
like oh this is what people are talking about yeah this is this is straight hell this girlfriend
of mine she'd have to have all the lights out all the blinds drawn she'd have to wait whatever the
opposite whatever the one that makes it dark she smells would get her like there could be no bananas
in the house I mean no noise whatsoever it was she was just locked in a bedroom for a day
You should have seen it happen to my brother.
It was a good time.
A headache that won't go away.
Okay, sure.
Like I said originally, it kind of makes me think of overhangs.
I've had a couple of bad overhangs that, yeah, they ruined my day.
Because I wasn't able to get to that.
We were just talking about this a couple weeks ago.
I wasn't able to get my hands on one of those healers.
I had to go to work.
I had to go somewhere.
That's terrible.
All right, here you go.
Someone texted in and said, what?
Josh, someone texted in and said if
co-workers aren't on this list.
It's invalid. It's invalid. Well, here you go.
On the list
to top things that can instantly ruin your days.
Being forced to talk to your annoying
coworker
from 540 to 9
every weekday ever since
we hired her.
Whatever.
Yeah, that's never
bother. I guess I've never
let other people bother me too much to that
extent. I'm not buying that. You've never had an instance here at work where you said to yourself,
oh, great, here he comes. You know what I mean? The coworker that bothers you?
I guess no. I usually just take it with a grain of salt. All right. People listening to loud
music in public or on their phone speaker. That is pretty annoying. I guess I haven't experienced that.
Doesn't ruin my day necessarily, but I'm like, come on, man. Where am I? Where are you with?
this happens. Someone listening to loud music
in public or on their phone speaker.
In line of the gas station or, you know,
in a store somewhere or you're
walking around the lake and somebody's just holding
their speaker up and listening to their own music
rather than headphones. Oh.
I don't see that. I see people talking
on speaker phone all the time.
Yeah, that's true. You see that a lot.
Way more than somebody listening to music.
Or FaceTime. What are you doing? Yeah, those
right exactly. FaceTime. You're not even looking
at each other either. I've been
lucky. I guess I don't know. I don't experience.
Not too many people at the Legion listen to Spotify on their phone.
No, no.
You know, whatever happened to the trend, Josh,
whatever happened to this gimmick, it came and went.
It stuck around for a while, but I haven't been a part of this for a long, long time.
Whatever happened to playing your music in your car,
especially the bass, playing it so loud that it rattles the motor vehicle,
and we would encounter these people all the time at stoplights and in your neighborhood.
That trend is gone.
I saw it just happened to me maybe on Monday.
But you agree that it's way more rare than it?
Definitely.
The reason I remember, well, not just because you mentioned it, but because it stood out.
Like, boy, this hasn't happened in a long time.
And it was so rattling and loud.
And I was at a stoplight with a bunch of other people.
I couldn't quite figure out who it was.
It was too loud to pinpoint the source.
Yeah, that happened to me last week in the first.
It seemed like they didn't pull up really, like, as close as a car normally would when you're at a stoplight.
And I thought, oh, it must be doing that because they know how obnoxious that is.
How sweet is that?
It fell out of style, that extreme bass sound from a car to where...
It's just the rattling.
It's like the car's falling apart.
It's rattling so hard.
Yeah.
That used to be, especially in high school, people with those subs.
I just found out the other day that my husband was one of those guys in high.
school and I was like, ugh. I was one of those guys, but I listened to, you know, heavy metal music,
so it wasn't like this bass that was insane. But I definitely, my dad almost killed me because I put a
$2,500 stereo on my credit card for a car I paid $400 for. I was going to say the equipment that
gets put into those cars back in the day was always more expensive than the car itself. Oh, I saw into that
stuff. I told you before, I used to do ride-alongs at Audio King. I would just hang out with those guys
and learn how to do it.
At least that's good music, though.
For a stretch of time,
you had plans as a young person
to be a car stereo ninja.
That's what I wanted to do, yeah.
I never had, I never wanted even
anything fabulous in my motor vehicle
as far as a car stereo goes.
I was always content with whatever it came with.
Ashley, your husband,
when he was a kid, he told you he was the
subwoofer guy? Yeah, he said he
had a ridiculous set of subs.
What kind of music is he into? I picture him
being into Garth Brooks.
He seems like a country music guy to me.
Oh, he's going to be so insulted. No,
not at all. I was picture garbage hip-hop.
No, when he was in high school,
his favorite rest in peace
was Mac Miller. So there was a lot
of Mac Miller playing. Well, I don't know Mac Miller.
He and I have never had a conversation. So what did Mac Miller
do? It was like rap.
rap. He and I've never had a music conversation.
Yeah, no, he's not a huge country fan.
He'd prefer if he didn't have to listen to it.
He has kind of a vibe.
He has a country vibe.
Yeah, mostly like rap music.
He likes rock music.
You know what?
The most cliche, I guess, country vibe that he gives off is that wimpy beard that he
wears.
A lot of country fan, especially, well, of course, the dudes,
they have to have a beard
and some of them don't wear it well
like your husband.
It's a wimpy-looking beard.
I love his beard.
His beard is kind of
Team America World Police.
I don't know what that means.
That's exactly.
That is the perfect way of putting it.
Google that, Ashley.
Team America World Police beard.
He didn't have a beard until his 20s too.
Like late, not late, but probably like 25.
It doesn't suit him.
Tell him that we said all this, by the way, when you get home.
I would kill him if he ever touched his beard.
It doesn't murder.
My wife is like that because she hates my face.
You're worshipping the wrong beard, Ashley.
His beard, his beard looks forced.
It looks like he's trying to show some manliness that's not there.
Yeah, you're more of a beard than his beard is.
Yeah.
All right.
Bug-eye wagon, Jesus said,
stepping in a wet spot on the floor right after you put your socks on.
Yeah, that'll do it.
That happened to me yesterday. I didn't realize there was,
somebody didn't pick up some ice that was on the floor,
and I stepped in it right after I put my socks on.
Oh, I get yelled at about that a lot. Yeah, I'll get out of the shower, get dressed,
cubby. I don't wear socks very often, but sometimes I'll put a nice pair of socks on in the winter,
and then I'll go down into the basement, and I don't turn the lights on,
away, just because, and I'll step in a fresh pile of cat vomit with my nice, clean socks on.
That'll ruin.
Yeah.
Few people have texted in that, too, waking up to, you know, pet vomit or pet feces.
Oh, yeah.
Things that can instantly ruin your day.
Where do we leave off?
We left off with loud music, spilling food all over your shirt.
I've been pretty good at that in my dining or eating career.
Good at not doing it?
I'm sorry. That's what I meant. Yes. I've been pretty good at avoiding spilling food all over myself when I eat.
But I have a couple of pals who do it regularly and they walk around town for the rest of the day with a massive ketchup spot on their shirt.
And it's always funny for me.
They used to happen to my sister, but primarily when she wore very light clothes, like white shirts and stuff like that.
It seemed like that's when she decided to do it. How about this one? And I've seen this.
This is a good one.
As good as far as I've seen this before.
We don't have assigned parking, but I park in the same spot every day.
If someone parks in my spot, it wrecks my day.
Oh, yeah?
Oh, yeah.
I get angry at that.
Do you really?
Yes.
I've mentioned this before, but we had a coworker a long time ago who he was at KQ,
and he came down to the 93X studios and yelled at one of our coworkers
because he parked in his spot.
And again, no assigned spots.
But it was weird.
He was such a creature of habit.
His spot was next to wherever I parked.
So I didn't always have park in the same spot.
So if I were to park someplace, he'd park on my passenger side.
Somebody took that spot once and he yelled at him.
That's not necessary to yell at him.
But I definitely noticed, for example, I think it was, it's been maybe a year now
where we don't park in the back of the building anymore.
That's where you guys used to park.
And so you started parking in the front.
Right.
And you started parking in the spot I parked at every single day for like six years.
Oh, no.
I was like, why?
Who specifically?
I think it's you, Josh.
I have to think of where the signs are because I always parked in front of the same sign.
Oh, yeah, I'm not in front of a sign.
Then it must be Nick.
Yeah.
And I'm like, why?
You should have said something.
I'm over it now.
You now have to park one foot to the right of where you, there are no one.
Now, Josh, wait a minute.
This guy you were telling us about that used to work here.
Was this the same guy who got yelled at once for parking in someone's spot?
Now, again, like Josh said, there are no assigned spots here.
Okay, was this the same guy?
He got yelled at for parking in someone else's spot.
And when that happened, this former coworker said,
suck it up, tough guy, there are no assigned spots, right?
And we all agreed with him.
We said, yeah, that's ridiculous.
Why would you get yelled at for parking in someone's spot when there are no assigned spots?
And then fast forward six months, he complained about someone parking in his spot.
That's too good.
So he instantly contradicted himself and we called him out on it.
That's that guy.
Same guy.
And the guy, the yeller, the person that yelled about taking his fake assigned spot, he one time,
I was in the bathroom with him and he's brushing his teeth and he used to brush the teeth so violently.
He hated his mouth.
I remember the violent toothbrusher.
I mean, he was just punishing his mouth.
And then a guy was in the stall, that guy leaves,
and the dude with the brushing the teeth,
is like, can you believe the nerve of that guy?
I'm in here brushing my teeth.
And he comes in here and takes a dump.
Was he kidding?
No.
He was just kind of that.
He was enraged.
The guy who had to take a deuce should have waited
until the other dude was done brushing his teeth before.
And I don't know who was in there first.
When I walked in, they were both already in there,
but he was really pissed off.
That's so weird.
Frigan morons.
You're the odd one in this situation, man.
A lot of morons have come and gone.
What else here in this report on things that can instantly ruin your day?
Being sticky.
Okay, sure.
Your hands are sticky.
You're this, that, Johnson, whatever.
Oh, I just thought of one.
When an automatic payment comes out of your account that you weren't expecting.
Oh, see, that's not my department.
You'd have to talk to my wife about that.
Yeah, I try to.
be good at remembering when they
come out or like I have a little
app that tracks it but sometimes one just
surprises me and if it's a larger
one I'm like oh great. Even if it's
legitimate. Yeah I'm like there goes
everything I had a plan for with that
money. Forgetting your headphones
at home when you really need them
like when you go to the jime
or when you are on an airplane
ride forgetting you I don't
use headphones for any reason.
A lot of people have texted in on forgetting your phone
or your wallet. Oh, gosh. Oh,
Here it is.
Forgetting to charge.
Oh, this is forgetting to charge your phone or having it be on the verge of death.
I don't know what I'm saying.
Forgetting to charge your phone.
Back to the topic of unassigned parking spaces that you've somehow assigned ownership to.
Sure.
This person said, my wife thinks we have a spot at the grocery store.
She gets mad if somebody parks there and says things like, how dare that bitch parked there?
I'm the same way.
Even like at a store?
Yeah, I mean, I'm not serious about it, but I'm definitely like, oh, I usually park there.
What a D bag.
If you've got a regular spot at the neighborhood grocery store, you must come from a pretty small neighborhood.
If you think you have a regular spot.
All right, we covered wet socks.
Your shopping bag rips when carrying groceries, oh, for Christ's sake.
Oh, I'll punch a hole in the wall.
That is embarrassing, too.
That sucks.
Especially when I live in an apartment buildings and you're coming up from, like, you know, from parking outside and you're walking in,
your bag just gets destroyed and your stuff's all over the lobby.
You feel like such a dumbass.
Oh, that's one of like the main reasons.
I never wanted to live in an apartment.
I don't want to lug groceries upstairs or in an elevator.
No.
Scaffolding Jesus said, you know what really grinds my gears?
His wife making them late for everything.
My wife and I are very different in that regard.
I like to be early and she likes to skate in.
Sometimes when she says, ah, we can leave at this time,
it makes me like very anxious because I think, well, that's ridiculous.
What if there's like a little bit of slow traffic we're not anticipating, then we're late?
We're completely opposite in that.
You're an early guy.
Yeah, I'd much rather just sit in my car if I have to versus being late.
Car problems will ruin your day.
Sure.
Taking a dump in your pants will ruin your day.
According to this article, this is legit.
Sucks to be a toddler.
Or you don't have to be a toddler for that, at it.
You do not have to be a toddler for that.
I'm not speaking currently in this moment.
Good to know.
I thought that's why you were looking at me that way.
No, no, I'm not talking about right now.
You've been through some stuff.
I've been through, I've had some problems.
And the number one answer for the top things that will instantly ruin your day.
Well, Helen, it brings up one of my favorite raps.
one of my favorite rap songs.
And I'm going to dump it on you right now.
Traffic, traffic, looking for my chapstick, feeling kind of car sick.
There's a Ford Maverick.
Do you think of that song every time you see a Ford Maverick now?
Almost daily, I think of that song.
No, I just think about that song every time I hear the word traffic.
There are still Ford Mavericks on the road with?
Well, they came out with a new one.
Oh, I did not know that.
Yeah. Traffic, traffic, looking for...
I love that song.
Ah, air conditioning, the love of my life.

It's Dr. Andrea.
Here to save you about $5,000 and answer your pet questions.
It's Dr. Andrea.
On the 93X-Haf-A-Hast Morning Show.
All right, here we go.
Let's get going with our guest.
Dial 6-15-1-9-9-9-3-93 and send us a text message if you have a question for Dr. Andrea Johnston from
from German Animal Hospital.
scar vet about your pet. Josh came up with that.
I've workshopped it for a couple years.
Dr. Andry is brought to you each month by the stray dog restaurant and bar in Northeast
Minneapolis. And just for our beloved listeners, they're offering up to 20% off all online
orders with special promo code 93X. So go to their website, stray dog Northeast. Order your
meal. Type in that promo code 93X and you get 20% off. Nice to have you back.
Dr. Andrea. Thanks. Good morning. Good morning. Off air or not off air. Well, both. We had an on-air
conversation about Halloween in Madison, Wisconsin. And then off-air, you said something about
being a veteran of such affairs. Yeah. I mean, my husband went to Madison, so he enjoyed every
Halloween. But I would drive 12 hours or 10 hours from Ohio for two nights, less than two nights,
probably less than 36 hours. And just party your ass off. Yeah. I mean, that street was so fun.
But now they have to like sell tickets because it got so out of control.
I didn't know this.
Just try and keep the crowds down?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, it would get crazy.
I think they had riots one year or something.
Sounds like Madison.
I was unaware when we were having this conversation what a big deal it was in Madison come Halloween night.
Do you remember any specific crazy stories?
By the way, sorry to interrupt, but you were driving from Ohio.
You were going to school.
Miami of Ohio.
Miami law.
You're Cincinnati.
So we had all jump in a car.
and drive all the way to Madison for two nights.
That's not like making a run up to St. Cloud State.
No.
But everybody from every school, some people would fly in for it because it's that crazy and that
fun.
Who did you go as?
Oh, gosh, one year I went as a genie.
Yeah.
Right?
Cute.
I like that.
I can't even remember, honestly.
Yeah, you party too hard for God's sake.
That's hilarious.
Yeah.
By the way, today is National Treat Your Pet Day, everybody.
So give that little pecker had something or another.
Before we, yes, Josh.
I was looking at a list of the most popular dog names of 2025.
And I was wondering how many you treat.
What about Bella?
I was going to say Bella number one.
So it is.
Okay, so that's-
We are surrounded.
We're surrounded by babies and dogs these days named Bella.
Yes.
My parents have a dog named Bella.
We're drowning in them.
Maybe name another one.
I will see if it's in the list.
Zoe.
Zoe.
is not on this list at least.
We got Bella, Luna,
Daisy, Lucy, Max, Charlie,
Bailey, Cooper, Buddy, and Sadie.
You're forgetting Lucky.
Lucky? Yeah, but you never want to name
your dog Lucky, because they're never lucky.
Oh, no.
I can attest to that.
They always get hit by cars.
I mean, it sounds horrible, but...
They also mention, like,
names after foods are becoming
more popular in 2020. Cookie.
We got Cheeto Pickles.
Yep. Pancake. We have a pancake.
What about brisket?
Ooh, that's a good one.
And then they would, this is kind of weird.
Cocoa puffs, mac and cheese, garbanzo beans, spicy sausage, Prince Tater Tad.
Wow.
Spicey sausage.
We get cocoa, we get skittles.
You know what's really popular now is like Bruce, Walter, Kevin, Steve, George.
The kind of ironically human names.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I like that.
I enjoy that routine way more than I do naming your dog, you know, Pringles or something like that.
that sounds like something a two-year-old would do.
And sometimes that's the case where the child is allowed to...
Silly. It's irresponsible.
You're not kidding about dogs named Lucky.
When I was an eighth-grade kid, we decided to breed our Springer Spaniel,
the best girl in the whole world, Megan Marie,
and we bred her with another purebred Springer,
and that male's name was Lucky.
Five years later, Lucky, who, as far as everybody knew,
was a totally normal dog.
jumped out the back of a moving pickup.
Oh, that dog.
That was lucky.
Did Lucky survive?
Hell no.
He was in pieces by the end of the year.
Anyway, before we get into the questions for Dr. Andrew,
we thank everyone for texting in.
651, 989, 93.
That's our Luther, Bloomington, Kia, text line.
I wanted to say word up to one of your coworkers, Dr. Cam.
Yeah, he's great.
And a U of M student who's helping out.
Oh, Josh.
Yeah, he listens to your show.
Hi, Josh.
He mentioned that.
A few days ago, the wife and I brought our kitty in to see Dr. Cam and Josh, and they were wonderful
in helping us figure out what was going on with the key.
And a thank you to you as well, Dr. Andrea, because coming up on November 9th, we've got
this fundraiser for the Randy Shaver Cancer Research Fund, November 9th at the Wise at Allegion.
And you have donated a free dental cleaning to the silent.
an auction. Sweet. Oh, and those aren't cheap.
People love it. People love it, because it's a good way to donate,
and then they get something out of it.
What all do you do with a dog's teeth from a dental cleaning?
Enough for them to just be furious with you by the end?
That's why we anesthetize them, because we don't want to lose our fingers.
Yeah, I mean, they have to. Otherwise,
Do you use an electric toothbrush?
It's exactly what your dentist uses. That's scaler, the polisher.
We take full mouth x-rays because there's a lot of abscesses that you can't see.
Sometimes we have to pull teeth, depending on what you find.
But, yeah, I mean, it's a pretty, you know, it's generally an anesthesia.
You put them out cold and they just start scrubbing.
Yeah, nobody wants you have to put a tube in because otherwise you don't want anything to go down the airway.
But you don't want to lose.
They're choking on their teeth.
You don't want to lose your fingers.
Yeah.
Do you ever find anything super nasty?
Oh, yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
I mean, we'll find, like, sticks jammed up.
Oh, wow.
A lot of times bulldogs get, like, hair stuck up in their gums because they're mouth.
because their mouth is so weird.
Yeah, they got a big sloppy mouth and big lips and everything.
That's hilarious.
So a dog chewed on a stick six months ago when it's still in its...
Oh, God.
Is there a particular breed that's more difficult than the rest, or is it all?
Bulldogs.
Bulldogs.
For dental procedures?
Yeah, because you'll find, like, a tooth in the middle of the palate.
Like on the top...
Like, there's no rhyme or reason to their oral cavity and their teeth.
Makes zero sense.
Speaking of a hair and mouth,
Bar saw Jesus had a question about his cat.
Rudy threw up a hairball in his shoe yesterday.
He says, what's up with that?
And also, he is getting concerned because there seems to be more and more hairballs recently
and he's not sure why.
So he's probably excessively grooming for a reason.
One could be anxiety or stress.
Two, he could have thyroid disease, so he's losing his hair.
And that's why he's excessively grooming and vomiting hairballs.
There's hairball diets.
You can get two over the counter.
that can help as well.
What does that mean exactly?
So there's actually specific diets that minimize hairball formation.
Oh, yeah, I've seen that around.
So it doesn't stop them from the grooming.
It just makes it so you don't get the hairball?
Correct. Yeah.
Oh, my goodness.
Dr. Andrea, a listener is, it appears to me this listener is looking to take tick prevention to a higher level.
They say, I've been lying in bed with the dog, and I find ticks crawling on me.
he is on chewable tick prevention.
So it sounds like maybe they're looking for something else.
Gosh, if he is on chewable tick prevention,
like Samparica Trio, Nuxgard Plus, the other one's Crudio Quatro,
those are the big ones.
If their ticks are dead, then the medication's doing its job.
So if you're finding dead ticks in the bed, it's working.
This one of this, this tick was crawling.
It was alive and crawling.
Well, this means that some human in the house,
has ticks.
Possibly. Or it actually was on the dog
but didn't take a bite and then
unfortunately jumped ship.
Yeah. Yeah. You could get a
sentinel collar, like a little collar.
You can buy that over the counter. That can be added
protection, but keep going to the oral
flea. Josh used to check gals for ticks
in his neighborhood. Yeah. They made me
move. But I sure
did. It was a free service I would ask.
That's gross.
Do indoor cats need heartworm
medications? Also, my
Cat is a dick.
Why is that?
I see many of those.
So heartworm disease is a thing in cats, mainly for outdoor cats, but mosquitoes are in your house as well.
I don't know.
I mean, I like Revolution Plus as heartworm preventative.
It's a topical, but it also covers, like, mites and things like that for cats.
I think it's a low risk if you have an indoor cat.
I'll be damned.
I don't know why your cat's a jerk.
Yeah.
Every personality's different.
You mentioned something about bulldogs a few minutes ago.
They have disgusting mouths and they're difficult to clean.
Listener by the name of paperwork bitch, Jesus, texted in a picture of his four bulldogs,
all sleeping on the couch together.
Oh, my God, I bet that's a mess.
Their names are Harold, Jackson, Lulu, and Steve.
I love that.
We have hundreds, he says, invested in dental work.
Yeah.
Look at them all.
They're all laying on blankets, I would imagine, because they drool all over the couch.
Probably need hearing aids at night, too.
Or earplugs, not hearing aids, ear plugs.
They're so loud.
Did they get to yelping?
Oh, my gosh.
They snore.
Yeah.
That's outstanding.
What else is going on here?
Our guest is Dr. Andrea from German Animal Hospital.
Questions coming in.
A 12-year-old lab who has seizures.
And the lab is on phenobarbital.
It has helped control.
the seizures. However, she seems to now have a facial tick. Is this a side effect? She has a checkup
coming up on Monday, but just wondering your thoughts. So on phenobarbital, but some facial
ticks happening. Yeah, so sometimes the seizure meds, one, isn't enough as they get older. So sometimes
you have to add like multimodal therapy. So you can add like zonisamide or Kepra, other medications
to it. Or you might need to check phenobarbital levels to see if it's, you know,
actually an appropriate dose.
Okay.
Yeah.
I know you've answered a question similar to this before,
but this person says they're getting a Basset Hound puppy and we'd like to get pet insurance
and we're wondering what one you recommend.
There's a lot out there.
Recently I've heard a lot of insurance are not covering certain things for certain breeds.
Basset hounds being one that get like major ear infections and back issues.
So I would make sure they cover that if it's not preexisting, meaning if the pet hasn't had it yet.
There's so many out there.
The ones I'm familiar with, pumpkin is one.
It's a weird name I know, but pumpkin insurance.
VPI.
There's so many Trupanion nationwide.
There's so many different health.
Pet insurance.
And a lot of companies cover it now, too.
Who here has pet insurance?
I wish.
Never even thought about it.
I'm stupid.
I should probably go ahead and do that.
Oh, this is a disturbing.
This is a troubling text message here.
works too much plowing snow
Jesus
He recently gut a deer
And the outdoor cats are eating the gut pile
Oh, yuck
Good, is this going to...
Of course.
Will this be a problem, he says?
I mean, deer are not carnivores, right?
They eat grass.
But I would still check your cats
for fleas and ticks
and parasites.
Oh, God.
At least it's been.
relatively cold, so it's not
like spoiled, hopefully.
But like the minute an animal dies, like a rabbit or a deer,
those fleas jump ship to the next
warm-bodied thing.
Oh.
That's what I would worry about.
Right. And the parasites, my God, deer are just
crawling with...
Can you imagine the little faces on these
kitties after they're done blood? Yeah, that's what I'm
picturing. It's like a freaking horror movie.
Dr. Andrea, what are your thoughts on
paying for advanced screenings
for healthy dogs, like ultrasound?
blood tests beyond the basic panels, et cetera.
What do you think?
Well, I think it depends on the age of the dog.
There's a lot of dogs that come in that are 8, 9, 10 that have, like, hidden cancers that
you don't know until they're sick.
We talk about it a lot.
Like, is there a benefit to doing ultrasounds and x-rays as they hit a certain age to find
those things so you can surgically remove it?
I don't think it's wrong.
I mean, it's expensive, right?
But I think it would be beneficial in some cases.
What about just like a new dog?
Like maybe if you're buying a used car, you bring it to your mechanic and just have them check it out before you make the purchase?
I mean, I think that's not a bad idea.
There's a lot of rescues that already do that when they take the dog in.
Oh, is that right?
Yeah, they'll do it full exam.
That's right.
We had a dog who they found out had heartworm.
Yeah, they'll do all those tests beforehand.
Which I had no idea was that big a deal.
I just thought it wasn't.
Yeah, that's insane.
He was like in a cage for six months, basically.
He couldn't get his heart rate up yet so bad.
Yep.
What do you think of dog racing, Dr. Andrea, like the serious dog racing?
Like the Greyhound Dog Racing?
Do you think it's mean?
I'm not a huge fan of it.
I mean, we see a lot of rescue greyhounds that have come from the racing rings, and they are so beat up.
I mean, they love to run, right?
Yeah.
You don't want them to be overused.
I think there's a rhyme.
There's a time and a place for it, but I think some of these rings are not healthy.
If we took you to the track, do you think you'd make some pretty good money by taking a look at these dogs?
I don't think I want to do that.
Put the money on this guy.
Oh, I bet with your experience you could eyeball him and maybe make some frigging cash.
We've got to take a break.
We'll be back.
Again, 651-989-933 is the number if you want to text in with a question for Dr. Andy.
We'll be back in a few minutes.
It's Dr. Andrea.
On the 93X-Hapast morning show.
Yes, we are hanging out with our hard partying veterinarian friend.
Dr. Andrea Johnson from German Animal Hospital,
who is a University of Wisconsin party guide on the side.
I didn't even go there.
When she's not at the office, she didn't even go to Wisconsin,
but she knows where the parties are at.
You know what's great when we have you on Dr. Andrew?
A lot of our listeners send pictures of their pets when they're asking.
Whether they're asking a question or not,
they love to show off their pets, and that's always fun.
Ashley, you in particular, I think,
need to look up a text message from Stalian Subaru Jesus
who texted in a picture of their new
female coon hound named Abigail.
And the picture that he sent in of Abigail,
he says she's six months old and she's very proud
of the hole that she dug in under 20 seconds.
Pardon me, in under 12 seconds, if you want to see that picture.
It is a good size. I mean, it's almost as big as the dog.
I think you'll fall in love with that picture.
They're going to have like a golf course or a ski box.
Oh, man.
Before you know it.
651, 989, 93.
That's the number you can text if you have a question.
Before we go, we got a few more minutes.
Earlier, a listener texted in and said,
they gutted a deer recently,
and his outdoor cats have been eating the gut pile.
A similar question here from Elk Slayer Jesus.
He says, I'm grinding up an elk as we speak.
Can I feed my golden retriever raw elk?
Well, I know for sure that you can.
do the opposite.
No.
He wants to know if he can feed.
I don't think you can do the opposite.
You can do it.
I'm kidding, of course.
Can this man feed his golden retriever
raw elk?
I mean, you're just asking for
GI issues, diarrhea and vomiting.
I mean, you can feed it.
Elk is actually really lean, right?
So you could cook it and then feed it.
Cook it up.
I would not feed the raw.
No.
The symptoms you just described remind me,
Ashley had to miss a day.
Was it raw elk that got you, Ashley?
Yeah, I think so.
The diarrhea and the vomiting you were going through.
Yuck.
Way past my prime Jesus wants to know, is it common for huskies to have neurological issues?
They had one that had some issues, which led to her chewing off one of her hind legs.
Years later, chewed off half the other one and then her entire tail.
Oh, boy.
Oh, my gosh, that's worse than my dog.
That's so, I've never met somebody like me.
Um, no, that's not common for the breed.
And it's not common to see it.
But there's obviously some lack of sensation back there and self mutilation because the dog can't feel it.
Um, so he's just going to chew it off because he doesn't feel like it's a part of his body.
Yeah.
Well, why would they want to chew it off?
Just like, because he doesn't, he can't feel it.
So it's just, unfortunately he's, or it's painful and he wants it off too.
Hey, I'm here for you.
Yeah, Ashley's been there.
Let's talk.
You currently.
own a dog who chewed one of its limbs off.
Yes.
Yeah.
How's that going?
She's doing great.
Dr. Andrea sees her now, so, you know, now she's on the up and up, finally.
This is hilarious.
I love picturing this kind of thing.
The listener wants to know, is there any risk or downside to giving my cat a sedative
before a plane ride?
I'm taking him as a carry on.
Wow.
No, I would suggest it.
I would recommend it.
Usually we use a lot of gabapentin, which is a pain med, but it's all.
also sedative for cats, especially the ones that come into the clinic and want to chew our faces off,
we oftentimes will send home gabapentin.
Well, if I've learned anything from traveling with Nick, don't mix lots and lots of booze with Xanax.
Yeah, I wouldn't do that.
That can make you want to fight a flight attendant, I saw.
It's like bridesmaid.
It's fitting that you're here because what I turned into that day, Dr. Andrea, was an animal.
But I like to believe I'm one of the few people on planet Earth who,
almost crashed in an airplane with their dog in their lap.
I had my dog in my lap.
And we gave him a little bit of Xanax before the plane ride, and it worked.
But at one point, we lost cabin pressure and we're screaming towards planet Earth.
And I actually put the oxygen mask on my dog's face.
That's scary, but adorable.
I love that, dude.
I don't remember who I went to first, but I actually, I think I went to myself first.
And then I actually put that friggin' mask on his stupid little dachshund face.
And he had no idea what was happening, of course.
He thought we were playing or something.
But I'd like to believe I'm one of the only people who had that experience,
as horrifying as it was.
Can you guys ever see yourself having your pet ride next to you on an airplane?
That sounds like such a tremendous pain in the ass.
I mean, I would absolutely love to have them there,
but I don't think they would like it very much at all.
Next thing you know, it goes and steals the meatloaf of the guy sitting in front of you or something like that.
There's only one dog that would behave.
And, I mean, still, that's a little iffy.
I'm picturing one of my dogs in a flight suit and the other one dressed as a captain.
Oh, my gosh.
You got to trust your.
Maybe that's a little Halloween outfit.
I think you need first class for your dogs.
Yeah.
They need the leg room.
Long legs.
Why does my dog always want to bury himself in a car?
He'll bury his face.
When I get home from anywhere, he hides under the covers or blankets.
Oh, gosh, I wonder what his breed is, but that is a lot of dogs like to do that to be comfortable.
And the car, maybe he's a little motion sick, but it's also a way to, like, kind of get cozy in there.
My dog goes straight under the sheets when he jumps in our bed.
We had a dog that she'd look at you like, why haven't you covered me up yet?
I need to be under a blanket.
Tuck me in.
Under the blanket pets, they're a lot of fun.
Dr. Andrea, are orange kitties, are they more affectionate than others?
And I thought I heard that male cats were more affectionate than females.
I've always liked orange cats the best, if that matters at all.
I would agree.
I don't think there's like any scientific evidence that orange cats are nicer, but I love orange male cats.
Okay.
I think they're the best.
They're just sweet.
I had one, Big Lou.
It was very, very, very sweet cat to people, not so much to other cats.
So this listener says, my orange kitty always needs to be near me.
Is this because it loves me, or does he have other dire revolutionary plans like the monkeys we talked about earlier on the program?
There was a monkey attack in Texas, Dr. Andrew.
Yeah.
Anyway, the orange kitty needs love all the time.
Is that typical trait of an orange kid?
I don't think it's a typical trait of an orange kitty.
I think he's just an affectionate cat.
He just wants to be around you.
But was that right that males are more affectionate than females?
That's what I thought I heard.
I mean, I can see some really.
mean male cats, but I guess, I don't know, I'd say it's probably 60, 40.
There you go.
If you or anyone you worked with ever been a little superstitious around black cats,
especially this time of year?
You know, never.
No, not so much.
No.
We were just reading earlier that there's certain, even here it's happened before where there'll be
a window of time around Halloween where black cats won't be adopted out.
Yeah, I have heard that.
I have heard that, but no, I don't think we've ever even thought about it.
There's not one person that's like, you take that one.
I'm staying away.
Filter Bob Jesus has a silver lab, female, seven years old, seems to have bad hips, has a hard time getting up, urinated, laying down yesterday.
Is there a supplement or something they can give her to make her feel better?
I think she probably needs more than a supplement.
Glucosamine can dendroitin works really well as a joint supplement, but I think you probably need anti-inflammatories, some hip x-rays, and maybe some other pain meds.
I'd get her checked out.
Poor thing.
There you go.
That sounds miserable, yeah.
Before we get going, this one might test you.
I don't know.
It's so rare that you even have a pause when these questions come in.
Oh, no, here we go.
You're on it.
What do you know about rabbits?
Here's a guy who says, my rabbit lost its two front teeth.
Will they grow back?
Yeah, so they, actually, I do know this one.
Rabbits, you have to shave their teeth down because they grow,
They continue to grow.
Oh.
So you have to, like, shave him down.
So I'm not sure if he was.
That sounds miserable.
Shaving the rabbit's teeth or they fractured off because they were too long.
I wish I had more info for you.
Yeah, but I don't think they're going to grow back.
I do not know that answer.
You'd have to take dental x-rays to see.
But you gave us some valuable information.
Anyways, I did not know that a rat.
Does a rabbit sit still for that?
You'd have to sedatum.
Good.
But they do horrible under anesthesia.
Can you mention Bugs Bunny without those two fronties?
Ashley, were you just awing because you were picturing a sedated rabbit?
Yeah, just a little sleepy rabbit.
Yeah.
You know, one fascinating fact about them is when they wake up from anesthesia,
you have to feed them like ASAP.
Otherwise their GI track stops moving.
And they die.
They always die.
Wake up, little rabbit.
You've got to feed it right away.
Wake up.
Yeah.
Wow.
We always learned so much.
Thanks, Dr. Andrew.
Yeah, of course.
Appreciate it.
Happy Halloween.
Happy Halloween.
Have a good one.
I'll be at Madison.
You're going to Wisconsin.
You bought your tickets?
